Anyway can I just say I was disappointed Andrew wasn’t there with him when he first showed up at the end.

And then immediately was floored again by how considerate and protective he is.

Andrew who hates everything about California

Andrew who needs to stay with Kevin (and we know they won’t be bring him.)

And leaving him (all of his friends/family) in the place he will come back to so no one, not the Yakuza, the mob nor the FBI will accuse him of running away again.

He means it when he advises Jean to find something to hold on to. It’s the thing he found that makes him so compelling to me.

I know you'll never see this ask amidst the thousands thar you have, but I want to send it anyways.

I really look up to you and your writing. You're clever and witty and I love reading your work. I'd like to be a writer one day, especially for script. But right now I feel like I'll never be. Everytime I look back at my writing I feel like a 5 year old wrote it. I look back and I hate everything I've written, and I feel like I'll never be good enough. I want to prove myself but I just can't.

Have you ever delt with not feeling like your writing was good enough?

I felt that way for most of my life. These days I look at things that Neil Gaimans in the past wrote and I feel proud of that Neil at that stage of his life and I know that even if he thought he was a complete fraud he was actually a pretty good writer who wrote some good things that nobody else had written.

It's okay to feel like you do. Just don't stop writing.

I love Andrew Minyard as a criminal justice major. Just imagine the possibilities that could happen!! He'd 100% write a paper about nature vs nurture that is about himself and Neil (only if you read between the lines can you tell that tho)

Oh man!! An idea is coming into my head as I think about this!!

Okay, okay, so imagine the following.

Andrew is in his The Serial Killer's Psyche class when he learns about the more recent recent killers, including The Baltimore Butcher.

He lowkey becomes fascinated with the whole thing.

(It's the knives)

And goes down a rabbit hole looking into anything and everything regarding the Wesninski family.

He learns that Nathan was married and had a son, Nathaniel, with a member of another known mafia family from across the Atlantic, Mary.

The son would be the perfect killing machine for these two.

But then he learns that Mary and Nathaniel died tragically in an unknown form.

"The family wants to keep their privacy in these hard times." The press says.

Despite Andrew researching for days (he even went to the library once!) He can't find any record of how they died, but their death certificates have the same time stamp on them so at least he knows they died at the same time.

After finding out as much as he can about the family, he is (and he would never admit this to anyone at all ever) solely on the side of the cops in believing that Nathan Wesninski is The Baltimore Butcher despite there not being enough evidence, etc etc.

Having learned all he could, he all but forgets about the Wesninski family.

Fast forward to the next semester when Kevin tells him they are going to Arizona because he found them a new striker.

As Neil is trying to catch his breath from Andrew hitting him, Andrew is suddenly excepiencing a new phenomenon to him "familiarity"

For some reason, this flight risk reminds him of someone, but he can't quite remember who.

This is new.

Not remembering something.

Is his memory failing him for the first time ever?

He blames it on his meds and moves on

Everytime he sees Neil after he moves to Palmetto, he has the same feeling.

Ever. Single. Time.

It is increasingly aggravating and intirely too intresting.

After weeks spent trying to remember who Neil reminded him of, filing through every person he's ever encountered, and Neil's skitish behavior, he decided that Neil must be a threat.

Why else would his instincts tell him not to trust Neil?

Why didn't he react to the Moriyamas coming south that fall?

Why couldn't he fucking remember where he knew Neil from???

His shell cracked a little bit and he decided on impulse that Neil was going to Eden's with them

Andrew was practically vibrating with rage by the end of that night.

"Who are you?" Andrew asked.

"Wha- I don't understand? I'm Neil?"

"No. I know you, but I've never seen you before." Andrew watched as Neil tensed, wondering what was running through the runners head.

"We don't know each other." Neil made as if to walk away, but he didn't make it far before he had to grab the wall to stabilize himself.

"I know you." Andrew said, grabbing his shoulder.

"No, you don't." Neil shoved him.

"Do you work for the Moriyamas?"

"You think I'm a mole?" Neil scoffed, but it was more slurred with the drugs in his system.

"You're something. And I know how to properly dispose of a body." Andrew said lowly, threatingly, putting both hands on either side of Neil, caging him him.

"So do I." Neil's voice was steady, and he shoved Andrew back as far as he could before taking off.

Neil feeds Andrew half-truths the next day at Wymacks, saying that he must have seen him on the street somewhere. He honestly had no idea why Andrew recognized him.

Andrew doesn't believe that, but he believes Neil's half-truths about his family and lets him go.

Eventually, the familiar feeling is exchanged with actual recognition, and the books continue on as normal

UNTIL

Andrew gets out of Easthaven and sees Neil with his blue eyes and Aubrun hair and brused face, and Andrew freezes for only a moment.

But for that moment, it's like a Christmas tree lighting up in Andrew's head.

Neurons firing and connecting dots he didn't know went to together.

Nathaniel Wesninski stood next to his family

He goes about his decided itinerary for the day

He still doesn't know what to do until "I never understood why he liked knives."

Everyone else was thinking Riko, but Andrew was thinking Nathan.

He decides then and there that he's not going to say anything until Neil tells him.

Neil's "I'm Nathaniel" hits Andrew like a gut punch.

He already knew it but now it's confirmed.

When Neil goes missing, Andrew was the first to tell coach about Nathan's release from prison.

He persuades Coach (read: stares down repeating "Baltimore") to take them to Baltimore because that's where Neil is.

Books go on as normal

Life seemingly goes back to normal after summer break.

They start the new semester with significantly fewer worries, and Neil is figuring out his newfound freedom.

Andrew is in his Advanced Psychology class when Nathan Wesninski is brought up again.

The professor - fortunately for her sake - doesn't mention Neil or Nathaniel at all but assigned them an imaginative assignment

They are to pick a serial killer and study what is known about their at home life and write a paper about what it might be like to grow up in that kind of enviroment

Andrew was going to ignore this assignment, but Neil found out and thought the whole thing was hilarious.

Neil finds out that Andrew was entirely too fascinated by the Wesninski family.

"You liked me before you even met me."

Eventually, they decided that Andrew didn't have to write the paper.

"Mr. Minyard. It is your turn to present."

Andrew and Neil walk to the front.

"This was a single person assignment, Mr. Minyard."

"I think a first-hand account is better than anything I could have come up with. Don't you think?"

"First hand?"

"Hello Andrew's classmates. I'm Nathaniel Wesninski, but please call me Neil. Fair warning. If you ever call me Nathaniel, I will kill you."

They spend the rest of the class basically ragging on Nathan the entire time

You are afraid to tell your boyfriend something, and when he finds out it's even worse.

He couldn't know. Not with everything that he had going on. It would only bother him. You didn't want to add more stress to your lover.

If you told Billy he would only worry about you. He didn't need to worry about you he had his own worries and things to deal with.

He was finally healing and you weren't going to mess it up. Every since Neil was arrested for domestic abuse, Susan got hit and billy had had enough, billy lived with Susan and max in a smaller house.

He was happier, but his therapist said it will be difficult. He sometimes has random outbursts of anger or tears. It's normal.

If he found out about starving yourself it would only hurt him. It would delay his healing. You didn't tell anyone so the only person it hurt was you.

"Yn?" You heard a voice ask. You turned around to see Max. She had spent the night. Susan had been drunk and Billy needed to be alone. He had had a panic attack at the store after seeing a man that looked similar to Neil. Sometimes billy would need comfort and sometimes he needed to be alone. Right now it was the later.

"What's up?" You ask the red head as she walks towards you. Her hair is mused from sleep and she is still in her pajamas.

"I, it's stupid never mind," she says brushing it off as she goes to make some toast. You know what that tone means it doesn't mean something good.

"Max, it's not stupid if it's bothering you," you say and walk over to her. She sighs as she watches her toast toast.

"When's Billy going to be better?" She asks in a small voice. Your heart aches for her. You wanted Billy to be better to, it just didn't work like that.

"It takes time. And he's never going to be the exact same, only better then before," you tell her as her toast pops up.

She smiles and begins to butter the toast, "Aren't you going to eat?" She asks and you shake your head.

"I had cereal this morning," you lie and max nods before walking off to go find something to watch. She loved your house, no rules. If she wanted to eat toast and watch TV at six am, she could.

Max had been getting slightly suspicious. In therapy her therapist had mentioned something called an eating disorder. She was told to make sure she was eating, trauma sometimes caused these disorders. But it could also be caused by insecurity.

She never saw you eat, and if you did it wasn't much. There wasn't a bowl in the sink or drying rack. You probably were just not hungry over being upset. Max knew the toll everything had taken on you. Billy did it sometimes to. He always made up for it by drinking protein shakes. Max didn't think you drank those.

Max ignored those thoughts as she went back to watching looney toons. You would say something if something was wrong.

Billy was getting worried about you. Everytime he saw you you looked thinner. He brought it up one time and you had just said girl issues and it was normal.

He decided not to pry, but he thinks maybe he should of. He could ask max? She was, well a teenager.

Billy didn't like the thought of it but he would have to in order to make sure you were okay. Your clothes were getting baggy and you were always tired. He never saw you eat.

"Max," Billy yells from outside Max's room. She groans before slamming the door open. "I need to talk to you about yn," he says and walks in.

"Is it normal," billy sighed he didn't want to be talking about this, "for girls to like, lose weight? During girl issues and shit?" He asks while pacing.

"What?" Max asks and looks confused, "Losing weight is a no, or a little is. Before our cycle and stuff like a few pounds get gained but we always lose it within a week or so," Max explains as billy turns a shade of crimson.

"Ew, but no it's more then a few pounds I think," Billy says and Max grabs her library card before looking back at Billy.

"I don't see her eat anymore, do you think she bulimic? That's what Chrissy was," Max says referencing to before Chrissy had to go to a hospital due to passing out during a game.

"Shit," Billy grumbles before grabbing his keys and racing to his car with Max.

After a few hours in the library, they came to the conclusion that you had anorexia. You skipped meals and we're getting skinny. Always tired was another thing they had noticed.

"Shit, shit, shit, what do we do?" Billy asks. Could they just ask her?

"We can't just ask her. But maybe bring it up?" Max suggests as billy checks out a few books and walks to his car.

They both drive over to your house. Who knows what was going on with you. Were you even okay?

Billy doesn't waste time knocking and walks into your house. He notions for max to wait and he goes to your room.

You smile weakly when you see him. He knows what's going on. It's confirmed, you look more pale then usual. Skinnier, and your eyes don't glow like they used to.

"Yn, I know about what's going on," Billy says softly as he sits next to you. Your heart fell. He was trying so hard to recover and you had fucked everything up.

"I'm sorry, I didn't want to mess up your recovery," you apologize and cling to his side. Billy can't believe that you didn't tell him so he didn't get hurt.

"No don't be sorry, I should of seen the signs," billy says and pulls you in for an even tighter hug.

"Its not your fault," you whisper as he kisses your hair. H me was going to help you beat these invisible demons.

My DPS Headcanons

If the poets played UNO! (the original variant)

Neil: He would always sit beside Todd because probably, he may either; tease him by making him pick from the draw pile/using the draw card/s onto him or.. if Neil is already close to finishing the game, he would actually help Todd lessen his cards (He would also play for Todd if he ever needs to go to the bathroom) He is also probably the one who would get to finish first because at the group, he is the most luckiest one who gets the good deck of cards

Todd: The quiet player and he has this sneaky little trick up on his sleeve where he probably would try to look like he is close to shouting “Uno!” by making it look like he has only two cards left on his hand and everyone will actually fall for it and will end up drawing a card. He is also probably the third one to finish (If he played his last card, he would still actually yell “Uno” and everyone would just giggle and telling him it’s not necessary to do that anymore)

Charlie: He would probably try shuffling the cards to impress everyone but ends up making a mess (He also have little knowledge about the game but still manages to catch up to everyone) One of the person who would probably yell “Uno” when someone is playing their second to the last card. He is also the one in-charged with the snacks because he got the money yk..!

Knox: He just laughs menacingly everytime.. Also probably one of the few people who would always get the worst cards but he still manages not to be the last one who finishes (probably he could be 4th or 5th) He would try to take a peak into everyone’s card like so sneaky!! He is also the one who would probably clean up the discard pile and shuffles it, putting it back to the draw pile (He is kind of good at shuffling)

Pitts: (Calling him this way now cuz why not!) The one who is actually good with shuffling the cards like I would describe him like a magician that plays the tricks using their card! Probably one of the people who would be the last to finish because he keeps targetting Meeks and yeah.. Probably one of their rounds actually took more than 30 Minutes (The only people left are him and Meeks) because he doesn’t stop bullying Meeks 😭😭 jabajhshshsv

Meeks: The one who’s in-charge with the music! He is also the one with the most knowledge regarding this game but he is one of the people who finishes last because he chose to bully back Pitts.. He sometimes gets the card from the draw pile starting from the bottom instead of the usual way (Neil will eventually notice it and Meeks would just wink back)

Cameron: The one who challenged everyone to play UNO since he said he is the “best” at it (He is actually the one who gets the most cards but the Pitts and Meeks’ situation would probably somehow save him from being the one who would finish last) The one who laughs very loud like.. very very loud. Also the one who ragequits alot!!

Something interesting Ive noticed, is that a lot if what craig/neil/ususlly og game voice actors, say things about the show and characters that they didnt actually put on screen.

Like saying ellie has a violent heart when she has cried everytime shes involved in violence and after stabbing David literally screamed and cries in terror when joel gently grabs her. Or that Joel who is not a cannibal and not a pedophile is like david when the actual episode goes out of its way to make sure you know that their actions and intentions make them complete opposites.

Like it honestly feels like they know that these are opinions that formed from making tlou2. But beacuse none of those are in the show they have to say it in the extra content and explain it. Like so much of what theyve talked about isnt rhe same characters on screen.

Like they want to push tlou 2 narrative but know general audiences will not be receptive to those ideas. So they stretch the truth in off show content to justify their opinions.

Its so dumb. The show they made does not match the narrative they wanted to push and I only wonder how much behind the scenes talks went on that may have scrapped them actually doing those things.

Like Bruce for the og game is a big reason Neil dropped a ton of dumb plots and I wonder how much of that happened with other persons including cast members played a similar role. But they know only dedicated typically game fans will watch their off show content so thats where they plug their rejected interpretations and can pretend its canon.

Pedros out there very diplomatically discussing the show, talking about how he wanted to show a softer side of joel that archtypes like him dont usually get so you see more of his love and humanity. And then you got those bozos on their whatever podcast going "yeah joel and the rapist are parallels basically (henry was joels parallel you bongos)"

I'm quite enjoying that AU too actually and it's nice to see a little weird dream I had some months ago and that I sketched something for is well received among my followers too!

a) There's an earlier ask in my inbox with the same question. I'll get to it sooner or later, I promise!

b) All the people around Evelyn and Robyn know is that both disappeared without a trace (Evelyn died as a deal with Philip to protect Robyn, Robyn himself is living in captivity). Andrew, Silvia, the Bowers and Ahana all were desperately trying to find Evelyn and Robyn. Missing posters, search "troops", they searched for years but to no avail.

Andrew neglected the workshop, Silvia her potion stand, Ahana her shop, the Bowers their fields and specifically Micah's academic successes started dropping. He could barely sleep or think of anything that wasn't related to Robyn's disappearance. At some point he couldn't handle living in Bonesborough anymore and his parents and sisters started worrying for him more and more too as the sunshine they knew Micah as immensely dimmed and he isolated himself and started to merely function rather than actually living. He moved to his birth town and his other family while Breena, Neil, Feya and Makenna stayed in Bonesborough whereas Feya and Makenna also moved out shortly after.

Micah has no thoughts regarding what Robyn is going through because he doesn't know where he is and what he is doing or what is being done to him. For all he knows Robyn could be dead. He pushed that theory away though everytime. It was easier to believe Robyn was alive somewhere and that he might reach out again one day than to believe he was gone forever.

anderperry au where todd asks neil out first hehe 

now with a part 2 (neil’s pov)

so

todd knows who neil is but they dont room together

he only knows neil through their numerous classes together and he may have an itsy bitsy crush

neil’s fucking pretty - todd’s known this since the first time he saw him laughing with his group of friends and almost tripped over his feet

luckily no one noticed

anyway neil’s fucking pretty but he’s completely different from todd and wayy out of his league so obviously todd doesnt have a crush

of course then on the second day of classes a teacher asks a question and looks at todd and he panics and neil’s behind him and he must notice because he answers in todd’s stead

and then when todd gets a little lost trying to find where the soccer practice was neil’s the one who finds him and walks him to practice

and neil’s on the team and he’s so fucking hot when he gets competitive and if todd himself wasnt playing todd knows he’d be distracted - luckily having an older brother has ensured that todd is nothing less than fiercely competitive in things he knows he’s good at

that doesnt mean that when practice ends he doesnt hurriedly walk away, pretending he doesnt notice neil approaching, to calm himself down and prepare himself to face post soccer neil

he volunteers to help clean up solely so he doesnt have to see neil

neil doesn't get the hint and stays back to help 

todd spends more time doodling neil’s name on his notebook than homework that night and thats when he realizes that his small teeny tiny crush may be not so small nor teeny tiny

and at first todd is very very very determined to ignore it

he stops himself from glancing back at neil or somehow finding him everywhere

he erases all his neil perry themed doodles

but neil doesn’t stop being pretty, the absolute asshole

nor kind nor sweet

and everytime he notices todd is alone (which is always) he comes to sit next to him - he invites him to study with his friends - he answers questions directed at todd in class

honestly he’s a fucking asshole ( theres no way he doesn’t know that he’s gorgeous and sweet and like a dream come alive and there’s no way he’s not using his evil powers to make sure todd thinks about him way more than he should )

and in the end todd’s half in love with him

ignoring his feelings dont work so the only thing todd has is to stop liking him

so he starts watching neil more because surely he cant be completely perfect surely he’ll have one habit that will be something todd hates - maybe he’s a sweater hater

neil is not a sweater hater - and he looks really cute in his stupid sweaters turns out

he’s also actually perfect

he’s kind, friendly, funny - he helps people, he wrinkles his nose when he’s concentrating, he runs his hands through his hair when he’s frustrated

and todd should be furious but now he’s just resigned

the perfect idea actually comes from neil’s friends in the end

todd’s there studying, minding his own business, trying to pretend that neil coming over earlier and asking if he wants to sit with his friends didn’t send his poor poor heart on fire practically

he overhears two of them - charlie and knox he thinks their names are - talking about how one of them (knox) fell in love too quickly and said one of them (knox) replies that actually “i didn’t fall in love with Nancy, Charlie” “yeah because she shot you down before you could”

its genius

todd just has to ask neil out 

a tiny part of todd, that he immediately ignores, wonders what it would be like if neil shot him a sweet smile and said “yes i’d love to be your boyfriend” 

“woah who’s got you smiling like that?” neil’s voice comes, breaking his neil being hopelessly in not quite love - because todd was not in love - with todd daydreams

neil laughs when todd stares at him wide eyed and points out that he’d left his pen here and that todd had been supporting a very sappy look - in nicer words

todd feels heat rush to his face and he shakes his head denying that he was thinking of anyone neil doesn’t look like he believes him but he nods and todd remembers his new genius plan

ask neil out and get rejected and thus fall out of not quite love with him

todd also ignores the part of his brain that tells him heartbreak is a vicious thing because of course his heart wont break he’s not in love

“H-hey Neil?” Todd asks quietly as Neil moves to go back to his friends.

“Yeah? What’s up?” Neil replies immediately, turning back to face Todd with his bright smile. Todd glances around making sure no one’s looking.

“Um.. this weekend... do you maybe wanna go somewhere...? W-with me, I mean.” Oh, sorry Todd. I already have plans. Maybe you could join my friends and me instead? I’d love to be your friend. 

Todd’s waiting for those words to spill out of Neil’s rather kissable looking mouth. For Neil to kindly let him down and state that he only wants to be-

“Y-yeah, I’d love to.” Neil’s smile is blinding and that combined with the pink on his cheeks makes Todd want to reach over and see if his mouth is actually as kissable as it looks. He doesn’t do that. Instead he gapes unattractively because did Neil just agree? Did Neil just-

Oh.

Well that didn’t go as planned.

But Todd can’t bring himself to be disappointed because the small part of Todd that had hoped Neil would like him back is singing. He’s helpless to do anything but smile back at Neil as Neil’s friends call him back and he leaves. 

He watches, still not a hundred percent processing that Neil had agreed to go on a date with him, as Neil leans in and whispers something frantically to his friends, his smile still there. His friends whoop and clap him on the back and Charlie catches Todd looking and smirks at him and Todd realizes that Neil must be telling them about their date.

He ducks his head down, wondering if Neil’s friends reaction meant that Neil might have had a bit of a crush on Todd too. And though he can’t understand why he would when he’s so out of Todd’s league, he can’t help but be pleased by it.

Todd stares at his half done math homework and then flips to a clean page in his notebook and starts writing.

He has a date to plan out.

All thoughts of how to get over Neil leave his mind as he debates whether dinner and a movie is too basic. Instead, plans on how to properly woo Neil start to form.

He may be a teeny tiny bit in love.

I love the background characters sm, like Jeffrey Anderson my beloved, so

What do we think about the poets siblings? Like we know that Neil is only child and Todd have at least one brother (jeffrey<3) but since we don’t know about the others take my silly headcanons lol

so like I said Neil is only child which makes me feel really depressed bc he didn’t have anyone to talk to when he was alone at home in summer with only his parents. Charlie’s only child too but unlike Neil, he likes that, he likes the attention and he get all his parents attention so he’s fine with that, he likes to sneak out in the summer for parties but he gets in trouble everytime. Also he lives really near to Knox, so he won’t feel alone when Knox comes round

Apart from Jeffrey, Todd has a little sister – hers name is Lilliana (but Jeffrey and Todd call her Lily) and she’s the sweetest child ever (she’s like 3 or 4, I don’t know how old mrs anderson actually is, but let say he had lily at 42) (I actually I had some headcanones about this girlie, maybe one day I’ll share ;3 )

Richard has a younger brother, his name’s Don. Don’s 11, they don’t have a bad relationship but neither a good one, Don has the pressure to be as good as his older brother, and he hates it. Cameron isn’t good in communication w people, so they aren’t as close as they liked to.

Pitts has a older brother named Marvin, they don’t have a good relationship because of the age gap (15 years), when he was four Marvin already moved out to collage, they didn’t see each other often, so the bond beetwen them doesn’t exist

Meeks has three sisters: Joyce, Sherry and Michelle. All of them are older than him. So basically Steven’s the baby of the family. The age gap between Joyce (the eldest) and Steven is 8 years, then between him and Sherry 5 and him and Michelle 3.

Knox has an older sister, her name’s Nancy (you and chris can’t be together yours star signs aren’t compatible) (fuck you) Nancy is 2 years older than him so the gap isn’t that big (listen to me when I say she won’t like that, I’m older) (so????) which means that they have a quite good relationship (i’m going to see charlie) (oh your boyfriend?) (what the fuck nancy??)

Do you think Morpheus is a type of character who could be/learn to be content to be single? Or would he always seek out a relationship (if he had to endure eternity and dying wasn't an option)?

The problem with Morpheus is that for him to learn anything he has to actively want to learn it, which he rarely does (cue eyebrows raising all over when Netflix!Morpheus told Lucienne he was learning "or at least trying to"). His not so secret desire for a relationship is basically a primary character trait in the comics. But like with all things in Sandman, its a bit more complicated than it would appear at first glance.

One of the things that is constantly pointed out in the comics regarding Morpheus is that he is lonely. He never actually states this himself, but its been mentioned enough times. The entire point of the Men of Good Fortune story on Morpheus's side is that he needs a friend. Hob points this out directly and Morpheus's reaction to that is heavily tied into his pride and his inability to accept that he is lonely, when loneliness is such a huge part of his story arc. That he comes around and accepts Hob's friendship is a massive step forward and signifier of his change.

His loneliness and need for companionship was even pointed out all the way back during the time of Endless Nights before humans even existed. Desire states it plainly:

and it was clearly a topic of concern for the family since Destruction also states how much they all hoped he would find someone:

which considering we don't see any of the other Endless ever take lovers (other than Destruction once) its clearly a big deal. Even his siblings think he needs a companion, and already thought this about him millions of years ago!

So loneliness is something Dream struggles with, whether he denies it or not. But notice how of all the Endless, he is the only one of them who regularly surrounds himself with other beings? Think about the realms of the other Endless. Destiny has his gardens, and there are his strange ghostly servants who don't appear to be the chatty type. Desire remains alone in the Threshold, Despair has her rats - which aren't likely to be great conversationalists, and Deliriums realm is chaos incarnate. We don't ever see the realms of Death or Destruction but neither of them seem to spend any time there anyway.

So Dream is different here because his realm is a thriving kingdom like something out of a fairytale. He has servants of all kinds, people he can interact with and talk to, who respect him and consider him their Lord. In the comics none of them would probably consider him their "friend" but in the netflix show we can certainly argue that Lucienne is the closest thing he has to a full time companion (which is in itself is a change to the comics to make Lucienne closer to him than Lucien in the comics ever is). He also has his ravens, who were all once mortals who died in their sleep. His ravens can also talk and are close to him. Matthew becomes so close to him that by the time we get to TKO Matthews loyalty to him, refusal to leave his side, and then eventual hurt and anger and grief at his death has me in floods of tears everytime I think about it.

But the point here is that even with all of that, which is far more companionship than any of his siblings seem to have, he is STILL lonely and longs for a lover.

I think one of the reasons he butts heads with Desire so much is because he desires so much and tries so hard to resist those desires (which Desire then takes as a personal insult). The companionship of Lucienne and Matthew, the friendship of Hob Gadling, none of it is enough. He still wants more, hence the lovers. Hence how it is hinted at throughout the comic that Dream takes lovers fairly regularly. How Neil Gaiman has previously said that the former lovers we know about from the comics only scratch the surface. Morpheus is affectionately, a bit of a manwhore. A Casanova if you will, only his weakness is love rather than sex.

So my honest answer to the question of whether he will ever be content to be single is a resounding no.

It's far too ingrained in him throughout the comics and at the end of the day, what is he if not a Dream? He is nothing but romantic notions and idle fantasies and love has such a huge place in such things, even if the comics make clear that love is actually the domain of Desire - and Desire is always cruel.

Hence Dream's many many problems stem from it.

I'll scream about the tmnt movie after this post (I love it omggjgk) but like,guess what happened after I left the theatre and my parents picked me up

I was just going on ans on and on about how I loved that movie. It has been my new hyperfixation and I just love it sm.

My father is very...anti-reboot so he was very grumpy about the movie(he didn't even see It though,I was literally just the only one with my sister who watched it) so I'm talking and talking and talking about how much I love this movie and my dad is just there 😡 all mad and huffy.

Then I talk about April o' Neil because I really liked her character and then that's that.Car ride over

(That sounded dramatic but I started talking about April when we were close to home, I didn't just bring her up and BOOM no more car ride)

We skip to now where I'm minding my business laying on the couch,looking at pictures of Donnie to make my pfp and my dad shows up out of nowhere and shoves his phone in my face and goes on about how April isn't accurate and shit and that it's pushing the woke agenda and me talking about it is doing the same

I am just....I was so happy. I have been waiting to watch this movie for weeks. I made Rottmnt Donnie's goggles to wear to the movie (didn't make them in time tho :( ) and bought a new shirt to wear when I watch the movie.I was silently screaming while watching and excitedly stimming the entire time. But then here's go my dad who only likes the stuff he grew up with, and anything that tries to change it is woke and has to tell me to stop talking so much about tmnt and that it's not as good as the one he grew up with and blah blah blah

To anyone who does that shit,fuck you I hope you break your legs and get stung by 1000 bees everytime you inhale air.

I went to Pride today and now I can't stop thinking about The Foxes at Pride, so here's a brain dump for you. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤎🤍🩷🩵

The Looks

OBVIOUSLY, my boy Nicky would be fully decked out to the nines. I'm talking rainbow fans, boa, sparkles, and makeup. He'd also be one of those people that wear their flag as a cape. Maybe even a tutu.

Matt would have a shirt that says "I'm bi and will fight you." He would also have a matching sticker/pin with Dan that would be something like "I love my bi wife/husband"

Allison would be casually dressed and looking fantastic. Clothing color coordinated to be the lesbian flag.

Renee would dye the bottom of her hair to be the Pansexual colors. Wearing A LOT of buttons and pins and bracelets.

Allison would do Neil's make-up in the demi flag colors, and he'd carry around a little pride flag. Matt got him a rainbow bandana, and now he wears it instead of his orange one.

Aaron would not dress up under any circumstances.

Andrew loses a bet to Neil and does wear a gay pride pin. The only color he's wearing in his normal black ensemble.

Dan would be so over the top, like Nicky, for funsies. She would be wearing that shirt that says Human Rights like nine times. The Human being different skin tones and the Rights being the Pride colors.

Kevin, my boy, would just wear his old Palmetto ecy jersey.

Random stuff they do

Nicky visits every booth. Talks to everyone that looks inviting. Spends the entire day buying little accessories to put on Kevin.

Neil and Andrew hold hands everytime they enter a crowd so they don't lose eachother

Matt does the drag race and he fucking kills it.

Neil gets so many accessories that sometimes Andrew will have to hold them for him when he goes to buy more.

One of these is a rainbow fan and Allison now has a picture of Andrew holding the fan up to his face looking slutty. (He was scratching his nose)

Kevin gets approached by someone in a furry costume asking for a photo, and he does, not even worrying about what the press might think, but happy that his fans were thriving at Pride.

It starts lightly raining for a bit and Allison and Renee dance in the rain.

They see Coach, Abby, and Betsy there. Coach and Abby are wearing shirts that say free dad hugs and free mom hugs, respectively.

Betsy and Andrew go off on their own for a bit, and she buys him a funnel cake with rainbow sprinkles.

Renee made like 200 bracelets with the pride colors and just starts handing them out to everyone.

Nicky gets Aaron to wear an Ally sticker.
