reading animorphs sequentially instead of in whatever random order you can get your hands on them is such a trip because you can see these kids getting progressively better at war and worse at being happy, you can see how traumatic events from one book echo into the next ones but never quite get dealt with because these kids have no real way to take care of their mental health, you can see their relationships deepening but simultaneously gaining friction and faultlines as they learn just how far they'd go for each other but also how far they'd go in general...
obviously this series was meant to be episodic in nature, and i actually think that might be the better way to first encounter it, but the arc of the series in publication order is extremely well-crafted
@chrisalonso-domluca-jimstreet I'm writing you two starters so buckle up.
Wren would've never thought working at the station would be so much change. 20-David had really welcomed her with open arms, making her part of the SWAT family even though technically she just did paperwork. She got to hang out with them outside of work a few times, following Chris around to wherever she dragged her. Tonight they were all going to meet at some bar to unwind after a stressful case. It was successful, and they were all going to celebrate. Hell, they even got Hondo and Deacon to come out which was very rare. Wren followed behind Chris, wearing a simple black dress as they found the group. "Hey guys." She waved shyly, smiling at everyone.
It was odd, a little gruesome, and weirdly meta. For some reason, Scar was short for "Scaveah", and Jevin and Tango were Guardian hybrids. Also, it was all animated in Cherrifire's art style, but I didn't want to emulate it so...
I guess this is what I get for reading Hermitcraft fanfiction before sleeping.

i love aziracrow, ineffable spouses, ineffable idiots, whatever you want to call them. but they really need to see each other, they are closer than anyone they have ever met, but that's obvious. they need to talk way more. they aren't humans but if they are going to make this work they have to be like humans. i love shipping them but it's hard to see how miserable but happy they are in this relationship, (talking about crowley.) but it also is a lot more entertaining seeing them as idiots, but they need to TALK!!!
idk WHY i keep going on these hinge dates with guys when invariably im not attracted to them and have to excruciatingly reject them after cause like what do i even say “im probably a lesbian but i have a full time job so idrc abt that rn”
