So it's here again my Terriermon paperchild \ówó/ these are old drawings/works from 2017 or 2018.
i had a tumblr account before but i never get used to it and i already erased everything i did post here, so it's a new beginning here (if i don't get lazy again).

For my Yuugi cosplay I wanted to make a couple of paperchildren to ride on my puzzle. I drew up both Atem and Yami so I could wear a different one each day. Atem didn't print well and his pose looked awkward on the puzzle, but Yami here turned out perfect and rode my puzzle the whole convention, clinging to the top-ring and glaring out at any and all potential threats.

15 years ago I was friends with an artist from g____chan who specialized in these guro paper dolls (paperchildren for new or non-weebs). I think most of them are still on DA, but the ones that didn’t make it over (the especially nsfw ones) are probably lost to time.
Maybe I should commemorate him by making my own paperchild.
🍪The Gingerbread Boys🍪 Part 2- Assembling the Papercraft
This one's pretty easy to assemble, since we talked about creating self-standing standees with The Candy Cane Thief!

I have a few polymer clay projects in mind. Handcrafting like that kind of reminded me of making paperchildren a while back. For those who don’t know, a paperchild is a printed or drawn character made to appear to interact with the world around it, as if it was a 3D being. In other words, it’s basically augmented reality using paper. You can see here how Ryo and Reno are hanging by the hand. White Blaze and Black Blaze are to be held upside down by the tail. That’s a common pose for a paperchild, being held by the giant hand of the artist. Kaito is to be pose pulling something.
