Irl Streamer. Shows off his horse school, livestreams his centaurs competitions. Some educational videos about farming and animal care.

Leighton

Vtuber. Specifically middle aged man pretending to be an anime girl vtuber. Actually ends up with a massive audience and diehard stans. Merch deals and sponsorships start rolling in.

One day his rig fails and when he realizes, literally cries himself to sleep. Thinks he’s lost everything.

But he still has some loving (middle aged) stans that are willing to love him for who he is. Slowly starts phasing out the vtube and starts being himself. Then his fans see he’s a shit person and leave him anyways.

Alternatively ends up being “groomed” into being someone’s discord kitten.

Briar

Archetypal goon squad crafter. Thirst traps, sexually suggestive content abound. Somehow never gets banned.

Sells his bathwater, full nine yards.

Eventually his love of the attention leads him to cam sites. Little does he know his biggest stan is watching from his closet

Bailey

No cam, no mic streamer. Uses it as a stress release. Plays farm games and sims games, but very intensely.

Very controlling of his games. Fully maxxed perfect farms and 100s of generations of sims. Is so domineering may be giving himself more stress.

If he plays a multiplayer game with his audience, they can expect to be worked to the bone. Despite this, his audience is loyal and his icon gets lots of fan art.

Wren

Gambles on stream. Poker, online casinos, sports betting... not in a right wing streamer brainwashing their preteen audience kind of way, but in a someone please call the hotline kind of way.

Unfortunately he's in too deep to quit. Remy's just happy to see him working extra shifts.

Zephyr

Like Remy his online presence is surprisingly purehearted in intention

Runs 24/7 livestreams of the oceans directed at showing off wildlife. Unfortunately, deviant activities involving mermaids keep getting him banned.

Quinn

Tries to do day in the life streams, to engage with young voters. Unfortunately everytime something embarrassing happens. At first it was typical stuff like spilling his coffee or ripping his pants but eventually it turns into people trying to get clout by interrupting his streams

Eventually just gives up. The election is rigged anyway.

hey! just wanted to say it was neat seeing you in steves signing livestream today!

ahah omg that was so fun!! :') I had no idea that I was actually going to catch the stream or how any of it worked. It was a shame I didn't have a lot of time when he got to me and I was kind of nervous especially because of the chat lag. I felt embarrassed that I said the same thing twice ahaha but never mind, I just thought he wasn't going to see my other message and didn't have time to think of a new one. He was nice about it though. He was also asking for the Emojis and said he likes to see people follow instructions XD but I was on my PC and the Emoji didn't have a search box so I couldn't do what he wanted XD Nothing ever goes right live does it, not for me anyway. I also love the quote he put on my print, but I'm not 100% sure where it's from. I'm wondering if it's a poker line. I've been wanting to play Poker with Bill for AGES but the man never sits his ass down XD So I never heard any of those lines before. But he said it was from Chapter 3 so maybe it was something more specific like the Valentine bank robbery. Not sure and I'm annoyed my trivia is failing me here XD I would say what the quote was but I do kind of want to figure it out ahah. Having met both Roger and Steve within like a week has been so cool :'))) they're both super sweet too

1) Rank your softest Muse and your toughest Muse. (Personality-wise)

Jayden is the softest by far. He's here for a good time. He's not scary. He's here because he was an idiot. He's a cupcake.

The toughest... is either Hellaina or Tara I think. They're both pretty stable, take no shit muses. Hellaina is Vox's second, and Tara is many things, one of which is a Fallen Angel and a mercenary.

2) Which Muse would blow through $1000 quickly?

Vox or Metatron for two entirely opposite reasons: Metatron only mildly understands money, and just Would Not Get it. Vox has enough money that he just doesn't care. He'll make it back in a day or two.

3) Do any of them have nicknames? Is there a meaning behind them?

Yes! A few of them do! Depending on how much of a nickname one considers Vox, he counts, which was the pretentious gay's use of latin coming in clutch for his name in Hell because he couldn't be Vincent.

Dia's name is already a nickname from life.

Tara's has a few motivations behind it. On one hand, it's more subtle when on Earth, but it's also more casual than Astaroth-- Astaroth is the name of the Fallen Angel, and delegate to Earth and the other Rings. She is a greater demon. Tara is Belphegor's best friend, she's the one who's eating gelato in Italy because she spends so much time in Italy.

Svetlana uses Lana a lot of the time, because it's more recognizable to non-Russian people, but she has a whole list of diminutives with specific usage meanings behind them.

4) Are any of them up-to-speed on the latest trends? Anyone more old school?

I know we all expect Vox to be the most up to date, but he's not. He owns the trends, and he runs them, but the person who spends the most time online, keeping up with them is Jayden. Hellaina also knows as a result of her job.

Adelard barely understands the modern era. He's not up to date on the trends, he doesn't have a cellphone. He thinks radio is too complicated some days. Metatron also has no idea.

5) Who has the best relationship with their siblings?

...Belphegor? The bar isn't super high. Most of them are only children, and while Hellaina has a sister that relationship is... not good. And at least some of Belphegor's are also down in Hell as the other Sins. He has their numbers. It's... well it is. He misses them despite them all, in theory, being there.

6) Karaoke night! Who is likely to grab the mic first and bust out a tune?

Jayden. Jayden is lord of the pop sensation. Dia also is likely to! She'll drag people into musical theatre duets.

7) Who is least likely to enter a beauty pageant/model?

Hellaina wouldn't, Dia... I can see her doing it, but it would be more for fun, some sort of fashion show Cannibal Town is putting on. Vox would be dragged into it through like... Velvette and Valentino, it's a press thing, he would not do it of his own volition. Adelard, Belphegor, Svetlana, and Astaroth wouldn't. And honestly I think Jayden would.

8) If your Muses visited a haunted house where actors scare you, who would panic and who would be unfazed?

Hellaina wouldn't be phased. Dia is having a great time, she's not scared at all, but she's having fun! Svetlana... honestly, I think, might be spooked, but depending on what it is, but has a decent poker face. Tara is unafraid, Belphegor is more likely to be. Metatron would have the like... funny moth-eye effect in which he is shocked but not scared. Honestly I can't decide if Adelard is scared of them, or if he's just been down in Hell for so long nothing even registers anymore, it's just another Tuesday. Vox isn't scared. Jayden is livestreaming the whole thing, he's going in unafraid of anything! And at the second scare immediately spooks and drops his phone.

9) Are any of your Muses particular about taking certain modes of transportation?

Vox has been Hell's foremost advocate for a subway system for literal decades. He cannot drive, so mostly he is driven or walks. He's sort of the one with an interesting answer.

Metatron can fly but doesn't usually.

10) Share a little-known fact about any Muse.

Of the sinner muses, Adelard has the highest body count. He has killed far and away the most people, and considers it wholly justified.

17. Talk about your writing and editing process.

Oof. I'm always thinking about things and drafting scenes in my head (a solid number make it to the WIP eventually). But when I have time to actually sit down to write (and I'm not avoiding reports or anything 😅) I'm actually really...mundane. I don't have a special "writing beverage" or "writing snack" - at this point, I'm curled up in some convoluted shape in my chair with my tablet balanced in some gravity-defying manner (still learning the best way; when it was my phone it was different lol) and keyboard in my lap. Most likely in a blanket because I live with a human furnace named Kallen who keeps the house chilly. (I can put layers on, I only get crabby about it once in a while.) Hopefully when we get my office/craft room squared away, I'll be in there sometimes. Nothing really changes except a desk/table to work on; I am actively looking at lap desks for both crafting and writing purposes. 😄 The first part is picking my WIP - sometimes it's based on vibe, an idea I had, a comment I had when I'm co-brainstorming with someone, etc. I have 18 (oof) direct links on my tablet now to different WIPs. (Five - what the hell Gemma - of which aren't listed on my masterlist because I'm holding them close to my chest still. For an assortment of reasons.) Usually, Kallen and I are watching a livestream or playlist of YouTube videos from a few creators we both enjoy when I'm writing. If he's off to his office to go play with some friends, I put some music or a chill stream on for background noise. And then I go to town. Editing is kind of an ongoing thing for me - I go back and re-read what I've written before to get the vibe, see what's working/what isn't, fix weird spelling errors, etc. So there's always little tweaks happening to documents. I've shared WIPs with some close friends - you included, Sy 😉 - to get vibe checks and/or general feedback. But when (if) I choose to publish, I'll read through the document once or twice, have someone else proof it, and then off it goes and I find a spelling mistake upon posting. So really, I'm a poker and tinker as a writer. I know where I'm headed, we'll get there eventually. Someday.

Evocative, personable, vivid

I used "personable" because I couldn't think of a word that meant "people are written as people - good and bad" because I feel like I do that well.

Today's Listens: Episode 004

August 8th & 9th, 2023

These past couple of days have been busy as fuck and I've neither had the time to listen to that many albums in each single day, nor write about them in those same days, so I thought I'd compact the two of them into one for a quick double episode! I listened to a variety as usual for as little time as I had and really enjoyed myself as usual, so here's what I heard!

Ski Mask the Slump God – STOKELEY (2018)

I kicked off the first day with simultaneously one of the most underrated yet underutilised rappers of the current day. I've always loved Ski Mask the Slump God's quirky yet menacingly skilled style and there are times where either he's punching under his weight or his label is doing that for him. (Bring back the original BEWARE THE BOOK OF ELI or I will take action.) I'm thankful to return to this particular debut studio album to end up finding a lot to love. Nuketown is the obvious big bomb highlight from the hype alone, but even the lesser appreciated cuts like the melodically sung So High and Save Me Pt 2 are fun jams, plus big hits like Faucet Failure, LA LA and Foot Fungus are great too. The whole thing is very consistently enjoyable, only really weak in a few notable spots. If you're a fan of trap rap, I can't not recommend this one.

Meteorological Agency – Night Coverage (2019)

Next one took me a long time to get to, I was pulled away to deal with other things after watching Jacksfilms livestream that day, so I had to wait until after my poker game that night to cover this half-hour signalwave album. This one's very sweet, lovely to hear and melodic, but it hardly exceeds more than that for me most times. I hate to kind of dismiss it like that, because it was still a good, solid time, but I was seeing a lot of praise for this out of other broken transmission albums and I hardly can say I walked away with too much compared to those who did. Still, good time, I'm keen on recommending it, just not particularly high priority.

my bloody valentine – glider (1990)

I wanted to blaze through shorter listens because I didn't want this first day to be hardly anything, so why not throw an EP into the mix from the legendary my bloody valentine, though I had to listen to this through their EPs compilation. This was a very, very good time. It kicks off with soon from the end of their loveless album, which grew on me upon this EP and the rest from the strange title track to the almost great closer were a very pleasant time. If you want more shoegaze EPs in your life, this is a must-try among others of theirs.

Highlights: Soon, Off Your Face

HKE – OMNIA (2016)

Not gonna lie, I was kind of breezing by these albums on the first day, especially this one which closed it out, but at least it made me realise this was a little better than I remembered. HKE is a persistently bitter nutjob, I don't want to publicly endorse his music without telling you to proceed with caution, because this man's history in the vaporwave world is fucking wild. This record was ripe from the rise of the hardvapour subgenre and it's a decent time. I was kinda falling out of love with it and its persistent ambient interludes by the midway point, but once I reached OMNI, I was having a great, great time. Definitely one to enjoy whilst learning about hardvapour's messy, shitty and complicated history and its place in vapor as a whole.

SEA OF DOGS – Prelude (2018)

Now it's the second day of the two and I've spent all of it in the morning and afternoon being way too busy to be at home and sitting down for any of these albums. By the time it was finally evening and dinner time though, I had to kick it off with one of my favourite producers of all time. hyphyskazerbox, known as SEA OF DOGS here, put out a Prelude EP in 2018 that perfectly bridges the gap between her releases at the time. This was delightfully strange, a complete warping of music without being too plunderphonic-heavy, really genre-heavy in that matter. If you're going into this one, don't expect anything and you will receive everything, a little bit. The last two tracks are especially grounded into being more lyrical cuts with the former especially taking dominance with its atmosphere. This is another great time from an incredibly varied discography. I'd say check it out, but also know that there's others from her that don't sound quite like this that are even better.

Pendulum – Hold Your Colour (2005)

Finally, I've been waiting to go over this one for years now, the pioneering and genre-defining drum and bass prodigies known from down under as Pendulum with their mid-2000s debut album. I was worried I wouldn't love this one as much as I wanted to, but to no surprises at the end, this was actually a very great time. What's especially amazing to me is how basically this album compresses what would go down as several different subgenres for DnB into one cohesive record, from dancefloor DnB to liquid DnB and all sorts of others! Highly, highly recommend this one; I'm sure to EDM heads, this one is a stone-cold classic and it deserves that position greatly.

VECTOR GRAPHICS – DESTINE (2015)

This one's another EP, but just like with glider and Prelude, this one is not to be underestimated or undermined. Far from it actually, it's my favourite EP that I've heard since starting this series! VECTOR GRAPHICS, now known these days as .CASTING, is a prodigy of a slowly growing subgenre of vaporwave known as VHS Pop. There's a bunch of definitions out there, but the one that seems to be on the rise is classic vaporwave-infused hip-hop instrumentals with loud VHS fuzz. We can absolutely thank this EP for helping to popularise that sound, as its title track is often regarded as one of the best vaporwave songs of all time. I'm completely on the hype train with that, I especially think that the second of the three tracks sampled in this is completely transcendent. It's the longest and best cut on here by far, but every single track from before and after it is also a consistently great time. This EP is excellent and if I'd recommend anything in this post more than any other, it's absolutely this one.

Highlights: SURFING, DESTINE, ALBA83

Joy Division – Substance (1988)

I always like to do a slightly special record for every ten ratings that I do, even if milestones like this are as insignificant as 1330. For that, I tackled probably the last Joy Division record I will cover, their '77 to '80 compilation of non-album singles titled Substance. I've never been fully enamoured with their pioneering post-punk sound; I understand that it's for way more people other than me, but at least it was very fascinating to see this band evolve from a slightly amateur punk rock sound to a completely innovative one. The second half is especially good and consistent, but not to the level of great for me that I'd love. Almost every track here I felt that I should love and I very clearly almost do, but there's always something holding me back from that. It could be Ian Curtis's vocal styles, it could be some of the instruments played, it could even be the troubling recording quality of the late '70s as usual. The only track where everything truly clicks for me is the closing Love Will Tear Us Apart, which is very obviously their best here. I still think this compilation is very good and worth a listen if you're especially a fan of post-punk.

Massive Attack – Mezzanine (1998)

To finally close out this double special, I went to one of my favourite albums of all time for a proper rerating that I felt was undermining, when I last tried it. Massive Attack's Mezzanine is an incredible '90s record and my absolute favourite in the trip hop sound. I think the reason why I used to score it lower than I would've liked to is because what makes this record so excellent is often so understated that you'd have to really pay attention to find it transcendent most times. It's so eerie and urban, it feels dusty at points, but its highs are grimacing and haunting. I struggle to find new words for it, especially its first run of tracks from the incredible opener to the underrated interlude-type cut. Just dive in and absolutely check this one out if you haven't already.

Finally, I've got this two-in-one special right out of the way. This one had to be super delayed, I'm finishing this on the morning of the 10th, but I'm still very glad to be able to push this one out, especially as I'm freed from my job for a little bit. Send in Your Qs!

Hi there!

This is a suuuuper short blog this week. It was going to be a "Stuff that Sucks" but probably because there is so much bad stuff going on, I'm not really up for doing that deep dive right now. But, y'know, please please please pay attention to what's happening at a local and national level. I reached out to my Senators to tell them the RESTRICT ACT is bullshit. And for some reason, 25 Senators are co-sponsoring it and should be appropriately shamed for such an action. Again, that's only one small of the larger puzzle, but as I said to my senators, it seems increasingly the U.S. is facing on a congressional and judicial level (which is it's own problem...), decisions that are polarizing simply because they will either define things for the better or for the worse and many of the decisions being made have been for the worse.

Anyway, like I said, I'll be back to talk more about that soon, but for the moment, let's talk about what's coming up!

Next week: I'm finally actually going to do another Ask Me (Almost) Anything blog! I've been teasing for a while, but next week I'm actually going to do it. I'll be soliciting questions on the comments of the website version of this blog or at my blog announcement tweet on Twitter. As usual, the rules are pretty simple. Wanna practice your sequential art skills and/or just do something kinda silly and fun? A few weeks back, Josh Burcham was sharing this really great thread from Scott Gray comparing Steve Ditko and Gene Colan's takes on the same script. It's a lot to see, especially since Gene was given twice the page count to tell it, but it's also just fascinating to see how wildly different two creators can interpret the same script. Josh suggested doing a new version where people draw from the same one-page script and I volunteered to write something for it! Here're the scripts (I did two so there's a robot one and a not-robot one) and if you're interested in participating, just draw what suits your fancy. They're meant to be loose and open to interpretation--so feel free to cut what isn't working, combine panels, rework things, etc! If you do it, please share with Josh and me!

Lastly, I haven't exactly worked out how all I'm going to go about it, but you may've seen last week, I hit 4000 Twitter followers (and that number kept growing) and I hosted an art share. Check out the thread. There are a ton of very cool artists over there to go follow and hire and work with! I've talked a lot recently about how things are really difficult as social media is increasingly segmented and visibility is made harder on the existing platforms. I can't independently solve that problem, but I am going to be trying to do more stuff like this more often, be it on the remains of Twitter or adding a weekly round-up of cool stuff I saw this week to this blog or something else!

Ever since Y/n was sent to the Ramshackle dorm, I've always been on the edge because of what might happen to her. Last time I went there,THEY HAD GHOSTS IN THE WALLS OF THAT BUG INFESTED DORM!

Although.. she doesn't seem to be bitten by bed bugs

"Say, sis~ why don't I take you to Heartslabyul to play a little poker! It's really been a while!" Sheila said as Y/n looked at her sister with glowing eyes

"Is that legal..?" Y/n whispered

"Technically by Earth laws,no. But people in Heartslabyul seem to be doing that and Riddle does watch once or twice so I guess it's fine"

Shei whispered back. "Ok fine" "There better be 20,000 Madol/Thaumarks" Shei teased as Y/n chuckled.

Right after school,the two immediately headed to Heartslabyul lounge and took out a standard 52-cards deck.

"It's been soooo long!!"

Y/n said as they both chuckled while Shei passes the cut deck of cards to her left and goes on.

Playing with the two are Ru and Ursula while Eliza just watches. "Are your Madols/Thaumarks ready?" Ursula asks as soon as everyone had their 5 cards and chips.

Within a few hours,the four ended up betting up to 10,000 Madol/Thaumarks and of course,the winner being Y/n.

"Naww she's cheating!!" Ursula said as Ruru chuckles "I thought my straight flush was a win" Ruru said as Shei agrees "Yeah! Who would've thought she had a Royal flush?--"

".. I don't know if you all noticed but.. we.. attracted guests.."

Y/n said nervously as Shei turns around and saw alot of Heartslabyul students watching the play.

"Ramshackle dormwarden isn't too bad"

"Hey isn't she a Marikitatji?"

"For real?! You mean she's one of the Jacks?!"

"No wonder she's as good as Shei Marikitatji! Turns out she's also one!"

"Looks like little missy has some followers~" Ruru said as Shei laughs. "Cater stop livestreaming!!" Ursula said as it wrestles with Cater. "Heey!!! Everyone!!" Shei shouts as she stood up,lightly making Y/n worried. "MY SISTER,Y/N, IS THE BEST OF ALL POKER PLAYERS! DARE TRY HER!"

"Is she really?"

"Hey you're not too bad at poker,give it a try!"

"I'd love to come against her!"

"S.. Shei.. this is.. very uncalled for.."

Y/n whispers as Shei chuckles.

Soon enough,Y/n has played 6 rounds with different dorm members.

Some actually bringing in the librarian of the school,A/n to beat her. Sure they did come close but they still lost.

"You were very lucky,senpai! If I didn't have an amazing set,you would've won"

Y/n said as she placed her cards down,revealing a Royal flush. The most powerful set,more powerful than the 4-of-a-kind that A/n had on their hands.

"DAMMIT!" The other 2 players cursed as they put their cards down harshly and left. While Y/n tool the chips that she won,A/n and her shakes hands.

"You've won.. alot.." Shei said nervously.

"You'd think after the 5th time,her luck would run out. Alot is an understatement,look at the pile of chips that Eliza and Ursula are swimming in"

Ru muttered as Y/n chuckled.

As the sun was about to set,the Marikitatji sisters separated to their respective dorms as well as the other friends.

Y/n had a smile plastered on her face,sure she did win alot of chips but she insisted that she wouldn't take them and gave it back to the dormwarden of Heartslabyul,of course she took 10 or something chips.

It was her hardwork to get them,isn't it?

"Grim? I'm home!" She said as she got home, "FNYAAHHH!! YOU MONSTERRR!!!" Grim said as he charged at the girl, thankfully she dodged and grabbed the raccoon by his collar

"Grim,what's gotten into you?"

"YOU CANT POSSIBLY WIN POKER 15 TIMES IN A ROW!!! I,GRIM THE GREATEST SORCERER AND POKER PLAYER, IS SUPPOSED TO BE GETTING THE ATTENTION! NYAAHH!!!!!"

Grim said as he was ready to huff out and burn the already disintegrated house.

"I swear if you cremate this dorm,I will not teach you how to win Poker" Y/n said and as soon as she finished, Grim sped to the couch and behaved

"Wow.. eager much? Alright,get the cards".

「The Next Day」

"Rumours say.."

"You can't beat Y/n Marikitatji,the dormwarden of Ramshackle dorm"

"No way someone's that good!"

"Listen to Deuce,you two might be doing your little trouble errands outside of Heartslabyul but I had it on livestream!"

"I was watching Cater's live and analyzed it last night,Y/n really wasn't cheating!"

"Is she really? Bet I could beat her"

"Hey!! Y/n,right?" Ace said as he approached the girl with her back facing him. As soon as she turned back around,everything felt like it was slowed down for Ace.

"Yea.. can I help you?" Y/n said but Ace was already lost in her eyes. Y/n chuckled at his frozen figure and waved a hand infront of the boy

"Do I need to call the nurse?" "I- WHAT- N..no.. sorry.. for shouting.. and staring"

"Staring sure is pretty rude,but wanting to know a girl without buying her a drink is even more rude. What's your name?"

Y/n said with a small giggle at the end while holding out her hand for him to shake.

"I.. I'm.. Ace. Ace Trappola"

"oh,I know you! Riddle always blabbers about you! And..-. Juice? Was it?"

"Oh,Deuce. Yeah,me and Deuce are quite the trouble for Riddle" Ace said as he scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment.

"Well then,Acey. How can this lady help you?" Y/n said as a faint blush appeared on Ace's cheeks.

"R..rumours say that.. you're really unbeatable in Poker." Ace said as Y/n looked at him with a hint of shock but then busted out laughing

"W-Why- what?!" "Believe rumours,I guess? I'm pretty decent at poker"

Y/n said as Ace pouts. "Then beat me at poker! I bet you can't~!" Ace teased as Y/n rolled her eyes "What time?"

"3 pm! Heartslabyul lounge, later" Ace said as Y/n wrote it down on her wrist "well then,I'll be seeing you lose. Card Controller~" Ace said with a wink as Y/n rolled her eyes once more "price has to not be lower than 10,000 Madol/Thaumarks"

"prize is 60,000 Madol/Thaumarks"

"you had me at prize. See you later,alligator"

Y/n said with a wink as she turned her back on him and left.

He's not as bad as I thought. He's got quite the crazy energy

"ACE ARE YOU STUPID?!" Cater shouts at Ace while Trey and Deuce was holding him back from slapping Ace

"He sure is--! WHY WOULD YOU CHALLENGE HER?! AND BETTING 60,000 MADOLS/THAUMARKS?! WHERE ARE YOU GETTING THAT MONEY?!"

Cater shouts as Trey tried to calm him down.

"I-.. don't know.. I was stupid! She was.. I.. I wanted to impress her.." Ace muttered as he stared at the floor,thinking about what he's done.

"Post-pone it!" Deuce said

"What am I gonna say? 'hey let's move the game,I don't have that much money' I sound like a jerk."

Ace said as Deuce rolls his eyes and sighs

"As if you're not already"

Trey muttered "Just say something urgent came up? Like you got in trouble?"

Deuce suggests "I can't,her sister is literally in the same dorm as us"

Ace said as Deuce agrees. "but is she right now?" Trey said as Ace looks around "doesn't look like it" Cater said with the brightest smile.

"Alright then! Let's--"

"Aceyy~"

Shit.

Y/n shouts as soon as she enters Heartslabyul with her 'followers'.

"H-..Hey Y/n..!" Ace said as he stared blankly at the crowd following his opponent.

"Oh-.. right. Shei kinda sorta heard about our game and then posted about it. And as soon as I exited Ramshackle,I was met with this"

Y/n said with a chuckle as Ace gulped.

He can't cheat when everyone's watching his every move.. and he can't post-pone it since he's clearly not going somewhere urgent since he's been on the lounge waiting for her.

"Right,shall we start?"

Y/n asks as Ace lightly nods and they sit opposing each other on the lounge. Cater starts shuffling and distributing the cards to the two.

"3 rounds,first who wins 2 wins." Y/n said as she looks at her cards and smirks.

"W..what.. what happens when it's a tie?"

"There's no tie,dummy"

Y/n said as she looked at Ace with a warm smile. "R..right.."

Ace said as he grips tightly at his set. He's been looking at his cards and saw a straight flush.

"Wa-wait what?!" Ace said,making Trey concerned and taking a peak at Ace's cards.

"Wait-! Ace you win!"

Trey said with a smile as Ace looked at him with disbelief as Trey took Ace's cards and placed them down the table. Y/n smiles and placed her cards down,it was just a high card.

"Well played,beginner's luck" Y/n said as she smiled and Cater takes the cards to shuffle for the next round "One more, Ace! And you're gonna win!" Deuce said as Trey nods.

Good

"Let's wait and see. Won't we,Ace?" Y/n said as she crossed her hands and smiled at Ace, although it might be a friendly one. It still sent a shiver down Ace's spine.

The next set has been introduced to the two. And yet again, Ace had a three of a kind. "That's a three of a kind!" Trey said as he took Ace's cards and slammed them down "I'm sorry, Trey and Ace. But I have a Royal flush" "shit."

Trey and Ace muttered the same time. "Last round.. no pressure" Y/n said as she propped her head up with her hand.

The last set has been showed and to everyone's surprise,Ace won. "I WIN!!!" Ace said as he showed his royal flush and stood up in victor.

"YEEESSS!!!!!" Ace shouts as Y/n chuckled and placed her cards down. "Wonderful game,Ace. I'm shocked you managed to outright my luck"

Y/n said as she took out 60,000 Madol/Thaumarks and gave it to Ace's hand.

"Let's play sometime" Y/n said as she took out a pen and started writing on Ace's arm "Call me,for another game?" Y/n said and left,not wanting to listen to his answer "S-Sure! W-will do!!"

Y/n sighed and talked to her earpiece "Alright I think I can remove the illusion now?" Ursula talked through her earpiece

"Yeah,good thing I had a little suspicion about the 60k Madols/Thaumarks" Y/n said as she walks out of Heartslabyul

"Seriously tho,thanks for letting me borrow the 60k. Who knew Ru had a soft heart?" Y/n said with a chuckle.

Ace was left in the lounge with the 60k in his pocket while he cleans the table. "Huh..? Isn't.. isn't this Y/n's set?" Ace said as he picket them up and as soon as he did,the cards turned from a high key to a royal flush. Making Ace jump in shock and looked at his cards.

They were.. switched?!

So..

She won..?!
