okay so yall know that tiktok video about different genshin characters playing just dance? i lowkey feel like diluc and zhongli would not be putting their all into it, AND THEN YOU AND CHILDE AND KAEYA ARE DANCING YOUR GUYS ASSES OFF LIKE YESSSSS.

yall are doing a collab together so you guys stay in the same hotel. you'd prolly run into zhongli and diluc getting up early to get a cup of coffee and breakfast. you end up joining them, being treated to some caffiene and bagel sandwiches.

i feel like childe and kaeya would be snoozing in till like afternoon time 💀 by the time they do get up, they drag you out for lunch before you can go to your choreography session, taking you out to some chinese diner. turns out they already planned on coming here and made a reservation for three <3

you order chow mein and while youre slurping away at your noodles, childe accidentally flicks kaeya in the face with a piece of green bean as he tries to get a grip on his chopsticks. kaeya looks like he's boutta murder the ginger...

you end up handing him a kid's pair of chopsticks, which had grip handles for him to use LMAO. he could finally eat his tofu; he actually had tears in his eyes

you all end up doing choreography lessons together because of your collab. in between breaks, expect childe and kaeya to be flirting with you non-stop before diluc and zhongli drag them off, apologizing on their behalf.

its so much fun to see diluc and kaeya arguing over who gets the bathroom from your room lol. your room is right next door so you pretty much can rely on them to be your alarm clock.

zhongli's probably the dad of the whole group, but like, he doesn't understand why his simps call him geo daddy.

kaeya lowkey enjoys all the attention he gets. fans and stans he can handle, but his simps are....kind crazy.

"i mean you can tell them i'm available, cause i am ;)"

childe doesn't understand why everyone calls him ed sheeran- although he still enjoys all the attention that he can get from his fans and stans. he has just as many simps as the rest of the members.

their favorite drinks? zhongli enjoys tea (earl grey, green tea, and lemon tea) but also occasionally drinks wine. diluc loathes alcohol, but will settle on juices, more specifically grape juice. childe enjoys drinking alcohol, yes, but he also prefers drinking chocolate milk. he's such a kid on the inside sniffle ;( kaeya is the alcoholic bitch of the group, sue him. keeps a bottle of wine hidden in his duffel bag

these guys are kinda like your bodyguards. everytime yall go out decked out in caps and black masks, all four of them are like surrounding you so no one can recoginize you and get on their knees and declare their love for you. it's happened before and that eneded up with you being whacked in the head with a box of chocolates and a boquet of sickenly sweet-smelling roses.

childe forces everyone to take group selfies before the night you leave so you can have tons of memories to look back into. i can just imagine kaeya doing this: 👉👌😉 and diluc just making a straight face the whole time, zhongli managing a small smile, childe just smirking like the dumb bastard he is, and you in the middle of it all, with a bright smile on your face <3

expect kaeya or childe to phone you a few weeks later with an idea for another collab... 💀

So, what is your Elder Scrolls/Skyrim lore headcanon?

There's so many so I will give a brief unhinged overview

The entire dragon cult are my blorbos and I want to expand on their lore so much. I have in depth headcanons about each dragon priest which is funny bc my source is I made it the fuck up.

Highlights include: nahkriin is essentially the leader/closest to Alduin. Rather than convenient time travel she uses the Sovngarde portal to release Alduin from a place beyond time where he was banished by the elder scroll.

Volsung was granted the right to ride on dragonback, befitting of his name meaning roughly "horror of the air." The dragon he flew with is the one resting with his grave.

Similarly Krosis fought alongside a dragon, who watches over his grave, though he never flew with it.

The divines use all pronouns interchangeably

Dragons are genderless, some have preferred pronoun sets, others don't give a shit, but having them all be male and only mention the females in vague lore is a boring cop out.

Dragons fit into the ethereal pantheon in a similar position to angels, as messengers of akatosh. However, the message is usually "you're fucked."

Daedric princes should be a lot more imposing than they are. Hermaeus Mora is honestly the only one I take particularly seriously. His appearances are effectively mysterious in the Dragonborn dlc and I think if other daedra had as much love put into their quests they'd feel more threatening and like. Y'know. Dread gods of fantasy hell. Rather than marvel villains.

The college of winterhold quest needs a lot of work. I could fix her.

The dragon priests should be so much more relevant!! Give me the resurrection of the dragon cult! Give me draugr armies overtaking cities because both sides of the civil war are too occupied with each other! Give me rallying skyrim's people, no matter what side they're on, against the dragon cult and the thalmor! I want narrative beats that feel emotionally devastating. Imagine watching whiterun fall under the reign of the cult and fighting to take back the place that was your first home in this strange land.

I think the Dragonborn should narratively represent the mortal people vs the apathetic divine. A hero not just for the nords, but for all humans, elves, and beastfolk. Their conflict is with the concept of fate itself, fighting to defy the destined end of the world that was decided by powers which cannot comprehend the meaning of a single life lost.

Part of that struggle is the dragonborn's nature as both mortal and dragon. In their many choices they are pushed to choose a side, but maybe there's a secret third thing...

uh. im gonna put more stuff under the cut i guess? iunno, au/headcanon stuffff

ok so, eve. eve is my favourite character in tboi so she's probably one of the most developed in my au, maybe even the most. lol

some basic info, her pronouns are she/her. she's a trans girl, she's around 16 years old and she's goth. emo? i imagine that she's an emo but it's the time where that term wasn't really popular so she calls herself goth. like ebony from my immortal, y'know? she's not as. girlboss though. she's very chill, calm. she's not easily annoyed at all, she's very patient infact! she's one of the older kids in the basement, so it's kinda needed she feels. she doesn't talk to others much, mostly keeps to herself. she can talk to others if needed though.

the reason why she doesn't really talk to others is just because she doesn't really want people knowing about her demon form cuz she's worried it'll freak people out and also because the WoB is very well known for being incredibly violent! fun. her WoB design is inspired by tentacled snakes, not too sure how well i did that tho…. here's a pic of one tho. they're silly little guys

the reason why i chose this creature to base my WoB design off is because 1) they're very silly and i like them and 2) in my au, eve spent most of her childhood in downpour! rainmaker is basically her father figure. she only left downpour recently, to try and figure out more about the other places. there's some important backstory stuff there but i don't really wanna say that rn

dead bird is a literal dead bird. he does move and talk somehow tho. he doesn't really have preferred pronouns because he's a bird but he mostly gets called he, so i guess use those! he is the only thing that eve stays around, mostly just because he won't fucking leave. she only met him recently, after leaving downpour. first thing that happened is that he flew into her face and now they're friends, yay! he's also aware of the fact that she is the WoB but. he doesn't care (fun fact dead bird was actually killed by her a long ass time ago but neither of them remember). his design will probably change? iunno, birds are super difficult for me to draw for some reason… i owned birds for ages but for some reason i do not understand the bird anatomy :(

A/N I didn't know what to do for the ending but I tried lol !NOT PROOF READ!

Jack and Y/N have been dating for 2-3 weeks now. Y/N has finally decided to give in and spill her emotions out to her demon boyfriend. Jack sat there, not knowing what to say. He forgot what having human emotions and feelings felt like. Jack is more on the violent side rather than soft. He was an expert at showing no emotions and he often kept to himself. He gently reached out and softly put his hand on her thigh, being careful not to cut her with his claws/talons. Jack normally preferred not to be touched by anyone. At this moment, he though Y/N needed it. He walked closer to her and pulled her into a tight hug. She paused and hugged him. She buried her face in his shoulder. "I don't know how you're feeling, but I will try my best to help." He spoke in his normal, raspy voice. He leaded her to his bed and laid her on it. "Stay, I'll be back." He told her before leaving the room. Y/N stayed put. After a few minutes, Jack came back in with a bunch of snacks. "We're going to watch movies." He said while setting the snacks in front of them and laying down next to her. She looked over at him and sighed.

"Jack, honey, you can't see." She told him, thinking that he of all people should know that.

"I know that, I remember you saying you love watching movies, so that's what we are doing." He told her in a stern, soft tone. He wrapped on of his cold arms around her warm shoulders. Jack handed her the remote for her to pick a movie. She happily took the remote and put on the first movie that caught her eye. "I'm sorry that I'm not really a physical touch kind of person. I haven't been since, y'know." He said softly.

"It's fine." She assured him. "I'm sorry that I took a while to open up. I just don't like showing weakness or opening up to people. Trust issues I guess." She told him. Her eyes glued on the T.V. The tall demon nodded.

"Understandable. I'm the same." He whispered, his voice sounding tired. She took the hint and shut off the bright flat screen. "What are you doing?" He asked, confused. She didn't say anything. She just shifted and cuddled into him. He hummed, telling her he understood. He took his mask off and set it on his bedside table. "Night Y/N." He said while closing his eyes.

Given how long he's been around, I don't think he'd really care. He's met many people of many sexualities and gender identities throughout time, so it doesn't phase him too much.

Of course, he'd initially be quite confused. Just because he's been around for a while doesn't mean he's caught up to speed with most of the modern world.

When you first told him this, he probably already knew. Y'know, mind reading and all that.

Give him a basic enough explanation and he understands pretty quickly. It'll take him a bit to get accustomed to, but he figures it out eventually.

If you're dating him, he'll make sure to treat you like a king. He gets all the others to call you by your preferred name and pronouns, making sure you never feel invalid.

Even if you two weren't together, I can see him casually correcting anyone who misgenders you. He's not gonna just stand by and let you feel bad, what kind of boss would he be if he did?

If you had a binder or wanted one, he'd see what he could get his hands on. Japan doesn't seem to have that stuff readily available, but he manages to get his hands on one for you.

He'll remind you when it's time to take it off, even scolding you whenever you try to sneak it back on. He understands if you feel uncomfortable without it, so he substitutes with simple bandages in the meantime.

Now, when it comes to the actual shaman fights, I think he'd have a few questions. Most binders are pretty restricting, so it'd be quite difficult to fight with it on.

Most of the time, he'd suggest switching to bandages for easier mobility and breathing room, but he understands if you don't want to. If you somehow manage to do it, consider him impressed.

Now, if you wanted chest surgery, that'd probably be a different conversation. Of course, he can't exactly do that for you during the tournament, but he'd probably make a deal with Faust. After all, why waste a perfectly capable doctor?

Of course, he'd probably threaten Faust beforehand. Can't have his darling prince get hurt while he's gone.

As for when it comes to actually dating, I think he'd be a little put off at first. It isn't because of you or anything, but I highly doubt he's dated a guy before. Sure, he's had men swoon for him, but it's never been anything serious.

After a while, he gets pretty used to it. He calls you things that are pretty gender neutral like 'darling', 'treasure', and whatnot, but he also uses 'prince' and other similar names.

He's plenty good at defending you. One time, Horohoro accidentally misgendered you and Hao almost burned him to smithereens. Horohoro apologized, of course, but he made sure to never make that mistake again.

Whenever Anna or someone else questions Hao about why he's with you, Hao can never really come up with an answer. He just likes you, no matter what gender you are.

The Patch were also extremely confused, but they left Hao alone. After all, they'd rather not risk angering the future Shaman King. Plus, they all make sure to use your correct name and pronouns as well.

Overall, 10/10. He's super sweet and supportive, but he's also just pretty nonchalant about the whole thing.

Hi guys. Thanks for the support on my first two drabble thingies. And welcome to my blog, since I haven't said that yet.

I'm gonna start a little series where I show off my personal PCs I use when romancing different characters in DOL. I made them all in the sims since I'm not confident in my drawing skills... so their actual in my head designs are a little different than the screenshots you'll see here. And of course, the actual sprites in DOL differ quite a bit as well. But y'know it's just so you guys get a sense of the character.

I might also put all of them into a world in the sims with their love interests and see what happens lol.

She's not above using sex to get what she wants... i mean in this fucked up city you do what you gotta do.

She prefers not to have to resort to that though.

Most things do go her way, after all she's smart, attractive, popular....... and intimidating........

Yeah she is BUFF in case you can't tell. She loves building muscle and working out... but mainly she's like that out of necessity.

I mean it helps to be able to fend off attackers and pursuers.

Or simply scare them off before they even lay their hands on her!

Bc the one time he did stop her in the hallway and tried to put his hands on her... did not end well for him.

And then he SCRAMBLED to get those videos taken down....

It's okay tho Finch actually made a truce with him and helped him threaten persuade everyone to delete the videos.

As long as he promised to keep his and his friends' hands off of her loved ones.

So yeah they don't interact with each other now but they both know the terms and conditions of their little truce

So how did Robin get the hot goth baddie?

Well as per the plot of DOL they grew up together and were friends and he looked up to her and yada yada

They were pretty much acting like lovebirds way before they actually made it official

And their situationship was fine as it was, for a while... but Finch really feels like she needs to devote herself to people entirely. And she felt bad having her attention pulled away from Robin, her best friend since forever, by other friends and especially other potential love interests.

So she was like fuck it and, in the privacy of Robin's room one night, while he was playing video games, they made it official

It was all sappy and shit <333

She DEDICATED herself to him

She's a great gf honestly

Neither of them are very fond of PDA, and Finch is very stoic and rather serious irl, and she feels like she needs to keep up her intimidating persona

so they keep the lovey-dovey shit behind closed doors

i love them they're so cute

her other little "title" alongside "the bodyguard" is "robin's protector" bc that's basically what she is. She doesn't let any harm come to him as long as she's there.

She even pays Bailey's rent for him. So yeah she juggles like a million jobs trying to afford that

But she tries to find jobs that are safe that robin could do, bc honestly that lemonade stand... isn't helping much.

Unfortunately all the higher paying jobs come with a lot of risk. Risk she's not willing to put Robin through.

Can I ask a super personal question? I don't know what your sexuality is and you don't have to say of course but if you were say, bi. Would you be able to come out to your mom seeing how "rocky" your relationship is (I'm not sure how to phrase this, just remember u saying something about it not being the best)? And how would you approach the topic? Or maybe it would be better to take Nadya/mom as an example? I'm having trouble remembering what her mom's reaction was or if Nadya ever told her? Sorry if it's too out there, I just find topics like this important, especially if I can use advice I learn in future and you seem to enjoy deep discussions like this. Maybe if other people want to share their experiences as well that'd be cool? If you're okay with it only though. I am so nervous to send this but I don't have anyone to talk to about this. to put something into context to better answer your question, ill choose another thing to compare it to outside of sexuality: gender. there were a few years that i experimented with who i felt i was gender-wise. i tried to come out to my mom as a trans guy (identified as nb first, but didn't think they/them pronouns fit as much, and knew she wouldn't understand so i wasn't out at this point), and her general reaction was: "i don't hate gay people (she just generalized all LGBTQ+ as 'gay'), but you're not gay and you can't say you are." please note that my dad was actively supportive and, frankly, just wanted me to be safe and happy, so it wasn't a big deal; he also made it clear that he wasn't surprised that i was changing because everyone does (his rules were pretty much on the line of "as long as you aren't hurting yourself or others, I don't care). it took me a very long time to realize that my situation wasn't as bad as many other cases of kids coming out, but it wasn't a positive outcome. i was actively neglected and my mom chose to support whatever else my older sibling did because they were the golden child. in school and around friends, i used he/him pronouns and a different name, but that was never respected at home.

but i got into high school and realized that i wasn't trans, i was actually harboring a lot of internalized misogyny and i just hated being cornered into the traditional idea of a woman. with that being said, the damage was done. when i told my parents (sort of a re-coming out? i don't even know how to describe it, but i was still worried that they would be mad that i was changing again.), it was another weird reaction. dad was fine, mom was indifferent, and never said anything about 'having her little girl' anymore because i think she realized that i wasn't going to be the girl that she wanted me to be. today, i know i have masculine traits, but i still feel like and am a woman.

the traditionalism that i think she wanted to put on me didn't work and i took on a lot of typically masculine traits: I'm built, i prefer shorts/pants over skirts/dresses (though, I'm not opposed), i like engineering and computer science and construction, and I'm not that much into makeup or typically girlie stuff. it took me a while to unlearn the hatred i had for femininity due to the strangulation of my mom. if any of you are worried-- don't feel that way at all, I'm safe. I've moved out and cut contact

nadya's mom never actually had much of a reaction. i didn't want to add the underlying homophobia because i was worried it would go too far for people, y'know? i had nadya's mom, who i have named diane, just be horribly neutral-- she didn't care that much. i hope this is okay for this part of your ask haha

i didn't grow up in a red/conservative family though. my folks are immigrants, but come from two wildly different cultures. there wasn't a fear of me being kicked out or abused (at least physically) because I knew that a) my dad wouldn't have let that happen and b) i was a fat kid who had the weight over my mom, if she had chosen to hit me, i wouldn't have gone down without landing a few hits in myself.

i don't mind questions like this at all, and I'm grateful that you feel comfortable asking. if i did have a problem, i simply would've been vaguer :)

however, with the idea of coming out, it is now more pertinent than ever that you be careful, especially in the us. i recommend taking your own steps and trying to analyze whether or not your parents would take it well-- your safety is the number one thing that's important.

remember that if you have to cut people out, it is not a judgment on your character, but on theirs. if someone chooses to hurt or throw out their kid/anyone they know for being queer, they are not worth your time.

I've heard that people are making pinned posts, so I thought I might as well do it, too.

Heya. Y'all can call me Guy, and I'm the head honcho for this(more or less) ask blog, and I think there's a few things you should know about me:

-I'm currently in my junior year of high school, and posts happen... basically, whenever I feel like it. If I don't get to an ask immediately, don't take it personally; I'm just a bit busy with other things.

-I'm bisexual, with a heavy, heavy male lean. I'm single too, but I'm not really taking any suggestions at this point. It'd be unfair for someone to show me their face and not have me show them mine. He/Him pronouns, too.

-This is also a Pokemon IRL blog. I only evolved recently, and I'm still getting used to being a Samurott. I'm currently learning about how to battle and act... y'know, like a Samurott. What does that mean, I don't know. But I'm trying my best!

-I like making stories. Like, a lot of stories. I have tons of characters, all of which are all available for asks.

-I'm a really dedicated memer. If it isn't about anything regarding plot development, don't expect it to be taken very seriously.

-I am a huge anime and VG fan. As for my ask thingie, the reason why I even made this thing in the first place:

There are some obvious rules here that the public have to follow:

-No NSFW asks. A majority of my characters are children(About the same age as me), and I don't feel right putting them in such risque situations.

-If a character chooses not to answer a specific question. They might have some personal demons they need to fight before bringing up the topic, or they just might... not want to answer directly.

-I'm occasionally gonna be busy making updates to a character's story before I get to questions, so as mentioned before, answers won't be given out in a timely manner. I apologize in advance if there's any delays.

Here's some ask hints, I guess(Color-coded to associate the characters with the stories)*:

-Delta: Ask him about how he feels about Hertz or his living situation

-Hertz: Ask about his "academic" "performance", or why he decided to take Delta under his wing to begin with

-Jason: Ask him about his past experiences with Pokemon or something about Jayden, or something about his friends

-Jayden: Basically the same thing, or something about being the older sister of the family, or how she feels about Cheren and Bianca

-Cheren and Bianca: How they met Jason or Jayden in the first place

-Chris, or any member of his team(Stephanie, Wave, Lucas and David), for that matter: Try to get them to talk about their background or early childhoods

Smudge, Charles and/or Katie: Their hobbies, how they feel about each other, or how college is treating them

Trevor: His music career, and/or how he got into the music bandwagon in the first place, how his current job is going and stuff

Bryant: How he met Trevor, why they're friends, or their general connection

*Obviously, you can ask them anything, but these are some good starts if you don't know what to ask them.

Also, don't be afraid to ask me any questions, either, I won't bite. I'm just a dude tryin' to develop some social circles. Ask me about anything, really. reposting some meta i wrote about zenith on my dw specifically so i can reblog and add to it, b/c i like to keep things together. what’s under this cut is gonna be partly outdated b/c i’m tweaking some stuff in the reblog don’t worry about it. if you haven’t read it or plan to reread it i’d maybe recommend waiting until i reblog the additions so all the info is together. though also there’s a lot here because i got that wordy bitch disease so like kudos if you make it though any part of this at any point. okay yeah so everything after this paragraph is Older Content

first, because i haven't talked about him here aside from some outdated aside in a list somewhere, a brief rundown! zenith (pseudonym, he/they) or vol'gelmeth (true name, it/they) is an aberration from the far realm who has projected an aspect of himself into the material plane in the form of a dhampir avatar. his plan is to gather enough strength to eventually be able to manifest fully in the material plane, and also to explore and experience and learn about the material plane because he's fascinated by it. zenith presents himself to others as a human cleric of the vol'gelmeth who's totally a different being and also has an eight pack. the intent WAS for his avatar to be fully human but sometimes you're too alien a being to stuff yourself into just a normal human body, and also he eats dreams, so, dhampir. it's fine. just gives him an extra layer of things to try to hide. second, pics! newest first

most recent design-tweaks to make him easier to draw, so this is his most up-to-date design. he looks more blond here than in other drawings but that's just shading though, his hair is white. the amulet is his Amulet of the Devout, since we were allowed two magic items to start, and it's not shown here but it has the symbol for vol'gelmeth that zenith designed himself lol

drew this when i had the realization that as a dhampir he'd have fangs even if the thing he eats isn't necessarily tangible. i toyed with a design that was ALL sharp teeth instead of just the incisors and i love that but eh. his true form has all sharp teeth so i'll get my fill there. not that anyone but haley as DM gets to see his true form yet. i've got my kid's secrets all laid out for the rest of the party i'm allowed to keep the design a secret even if no one cares but me lmao

one of my first pics of him, i kinda miss the scruffier outfit vs the more put-together outfit he's got now but we can mix and match. it's fine. it's all flavor text. and finally... the bullet points

to explain the pronoun situation a bit better, the actual character is comfortable with he/they/it. as zenith, the dhampir avatar pretending to be human, he uses just he/they. when referring to vol'gelmeth as if they're a separate being, it/they. the reason for the difference is one part zenith trying to create differences between his two aspects to make his disguise/deception stronger, one part him picking up on how humanoids most commonly use pronouns and adding that to his disguise/deception (meaning like, it/its isn't a common pronoun for humanoids, but they DO use it/its when talking about non-humanoids), and one part him gaining more of an understanding of gender as he spends time on this plane and deciding he/him is fine

if forced at gunpoint to describe his gender, zenith would go with 'agender' or 'no' or something along those lines. i have no idea what his species is like culturally, but i do know that gender is a new concept to him. he's largely uninterested in it personally, like it's a neat enough thing to learn about but it's separate from him, y'know? he generally prefers neutral language, so they/them and it/its feel comfortable and correct, but as his avatar is seemingly AMAB he's had masc language used for him by others who assumed and he's decided that's fine, both in that it doesn't bother him and that he likes it, again, as a thing that separates Zenith from Vol'Gelmeth. so i guess it's less that he likes he/him on a personal level, it's more just part of his disguise? he hasn't had enough experience with she/her to feel comfortable with it yet so he's just avoiding that set.

i swap his pronouns around more while talking out loud, like in-game. in writing you'll notice it's mostly he/him. that's just easier for me. it's fine.

i talked so much more about gender than i originally intended but like [gestures at self] to be expected i guess

from reading the WOTC lore, my understanding of how dhampir work is that they feed on aspects of humanoids but they don't necessarily need to in order to survive? they're described as having ties to the undead/vampires but not being fully there, and they have their hunger but can control or suppress it through intense willpower. which to me reads like they can eat other stuff due to being partly/technically alive but they crave whatever it is they hunger for? if they NEEDED it they couldn't control/suppress it without starving, right? if anyone has a different interpretation of the text lmk. obviously we can throw WOTC lore in the garbage as necessary and as approved by the DM but i like having the framework sometimes and dhampir are new enough to dnd that i only have so many sources to formulate opinions on.

zenith in his true form i think like... ONLY eats dreams, or at least primarily does? maybe just primarily, the way i designed his true form he's got a mouth and teeth and all of that implies to me that he's a creature that at least CAN physically eat things, not just psychically. zenith as the humanoid avatar... i'm not sure??? i know he CAN eat other stuff and does, and i think right now i'm hesitantly going with 'needs to eat human food to maintain the humanoid body, needs to eat dreams to maintain the rest of him and get stronger'? so i'm backtracking on the 'dhampir don't NEED to feed their hunger to survive' thing for zenith specifically, not my concept of dhampir in general, since he's a weird situation being an aberration which isn't necessarily supported by the game stats, if that makes sense.

NEW BULLET I'M CONFUSING MYSELF okay. zenith has to eat both human food and also dreams. needs human food more regularly perhaps so that the humanoid body doesn't just fucking collapse, craves dreams more intensely. i think that's what we're going with. maybe.

i like being able to do whatever i want with the lore but i also struggle if the framework given isn't clear enough by my standards and i'm struggling here

god looking at the dhampir stats and i forgot zenith doesn't need to breathe and also has natural spider climb. fantastic. just a normal human dude, hello fellow humans

he also has the fanged bite ability which i'm looking forward to perhaps using some day

zenith definitely had a ROUGH time when he first manifested on the material plane because of a combo of four things; 1) being in a new alien plane, 2) being in a new alien body, 3) being in two bodies/places at once, 4) being exhausted from whatever ritual or spell or whatever he did to accomplish the split in the first place

some differences between the far realm and the material plane are that the far realm is composed of an infinite number of layers that shift continuously, and the air is described as syrupy thick with time and gravity being things that don't exist. far realm denizens move through the air by 'swimming' and can pass through the layers with a thought, or exist on multiple layers at a time. the far realm is specifically described as Lovecraftian and being 'beyond sanity', and is so far outside even the outer planes that it's often not included in the standard cosmology. which is why it's also referred to as just 'Outside'. so basically it's a real fucked up alien world

zenith, while very much an alien, is not the same degree as Unknowable and Unfathomable as other far realm denizens can be. i imagine it's a scale, and he falls significantly closer to the end that doesn't drive you crazy if you look at it. this allows him to (mostly) successfully communicate with dreamers of the material plane (though i imagine that took lots of trial and error) and gives him motivations that normal people can understand for the most part; he's driven most by curiosity and by hunger. so he's got a good head start there for successfully transferring to the material plane. he's at least not so completely divorced from reality as its known there as to make him incompatible with it.

doesn't make the transition easy, though! for all the reasons why waking up in the plane i described a couple bullets up would be jarring for us, waking up in the material plane is jarring for him. i imagine gravity is weird to contend with suddenly, the air simultaneously heavier and thinner. less resistance and more resistance at the same time. the surroundings aren't just completely different, the way you perceive the surroundings is different with the lack of shifting layers. i'd imagine everything feels incredibly still in comparison. so there's all that and more as a thing to adjust to!

also, new human/dhampir body! his true form is a (mostly) physical one that's very different from a humanoid but it's got a head and eyes and limbs so that's a good start, but still. new body. it's weird.

ALSO yeah, existing in two places at once! piloting two bodies at once! that can't be easy on top of everything else, there was no way for him to practice or gauge how any of this would feel, he just fucking did it, so it'd just be.... 'disorienting' is probably putting it mildly?

at the start of the campaign it's been uhhhhh i think we determined like 6 months or so since he manifested on the material plane. so he's had the chance to figure this out! this plane is still alien and weird to him but he can move around in it without feeling like he's having the WORST kind of bad trip anymore. the biggest thing that's still a factor is he's still got two bodies in two different planes. i imagine he has to cope with that by like... focusing 100% of everything on one body at a time. i'm thinking he like parked himself somewhere safe back home, somewhere quiet and secure where he could puppeteer his material avatar from, so he just has to settle in and focus completely on being Zenith and it's fine.

i'd think that he can't ignore his original body all the time, so when it's safe he'll switch focus and like... stretch, move around, check things out. not for long, he doesn't want to get used to what home feels like and then have to go back to the material plane and adjust to that again, and also the humanoid body is so much smaller and squishier and more vulnerable and he doesn't like leaving it unattended

he largely avoids switching between the two as much as he can, because it'll always be jarring and it'll always leave him vulnerable.

one big drive for him to gather enough strength to manifest fully in the material plane is so he doesn't have to be split like this anymore. that's probably like one of the top two motivators, have access to all his power and not be in two places at once.

i don't fully know what 'eating dreams' looks like yet. i'm sure we'll figure that out as we play but right now i don't know if it's a fully psychic thing or what? i feel like it's not as easy for him to do now that he's split vs when he could just hunt for dreamers from home with whatever psychic power he's got that lets him cross the planes to eat dreams. i don't know if he has to be within a certain physical proximity to the dreamer now that he's on the material plane, or if he has to actively touch/interact with the dreamer, or how exactly it works. i have no fucking clue. i know there's some aspect of hunting dreams down, just not 100% sure what that looks like. on the outside like some form of meditation maybe? idk!

deep speech is the native language of aberrations, and it has no script on its own but mortals use the espruar script to write it down, which implies to me that far realm denizens don't have a use for reading/writing. which means that zenith has taught himself how to read and write, probably mostly while actively on the material plane. maybe picked up a little while he was learning common via dreams but dreams aren't reliable. you ever try to read in a dream

since he's proficient in deep speech, common, and abyssal, he can definitely read and write fluently, but i think he has the classic problem of not always knowing how things are written/pronounced if he's never heard/read it. like he'll tend to say and write things phonetically and need to be corrected. there's also just a bunch of words he hasn't encountered yet though understanding context clues helps

he doesn't NEED to be able to write in deep speech, it's not a super well-used language in the material plane, but he absolutely learned how because that's his language and he wants to be able to write in it!

before coming to the material plane, zenith LOVED talking with humanoids via their dreams! they're interesting and he likes talking to people! and then he gets to eat the dream when he's done so it's a great time for him. socialization/entertainment and food.

i think that if someone were to pray to him zenith would be able to respond back, but i'm not sure if he can communicate through dreams while he's split like this? mostly because it feels OP to give myself that ability. the Dream spell can do that but it's a lvl 5 spell and i don't feel like i can just say Oh I Can Do That y'know lmao. that was very frustrating for him to discover, that he can't do that anymore. another reason for him to want to manifest fully in the plane, hopefully be able to manipulate dreams again instead of only eating them, he likes the manipulating part.

zenith has absolutely no idea what the experience is on the other side of the dream-eating thing. no clue what it feels like or if it hurts or what happens at all. he'd be interested in knowing but he doesn't particularly care on an emotional level. he's pretty sure it doesn't KILL the dreamer because he's talked to people more than once before but it wouldn't stop him if it did tbh

part of the reason i'm writing all this down is b/c i know i've been asked if zenith wants/has followers and i have absolutely no idea what my answer was because i said it out loud and didn't write it down but i'm pretty sure my answer has changed? maybe? i have no clue. any way zenith would be thrilled to have followers. i don't think he's tried taking on warlocks or anything like that, like he hasn't shared his power to be anyone's patron, but it's not something he's opposed to. not his priority at the moment but like, sounds like fun! he likes attention and seeing what people do and as long as it doesn't rob him of too much of his own power he'd be down to try! he'd be down to be someone's god. the idea of being a god sounds REAL nice, actually. he loves that.

outside of actively being a patron, does he have followers? people that pray to him? i don't know! the idea is interesting to me! he'd be happy to chat with people though i don't know what all he'd be able to do in return outside of share any info they want about the far realm or any other realm he's learned about. i know in this split state there's even less he could do than if he was at full power.

i think right now he's mostly focused on just exploring the material plane and gathering power to manifest in it fully, but after that.... after that, being a patron sounds like fun. being a god sounds like FUN.

something i wrote before on a related topic; "zenith doesn't necessarily WANT to kill anyone. he'll do it if he feels he has to but that's not his goal. the likes the material plane and its denizens! they're interesting! he just wants to explore and learn and experience! and eat but don't worry about that one. and maybe gain followers but that's one's fine. it's a plane full of creatures that dream and if you play your cards right they might worship you. just gotta get stronger and put out feelers and consider giving gifts of power in exchange. power can be exchanged for worship and services. and perhaps food. he loves this plane."

aberrations are generally considered monsters and zenith would be mildly offended at the implication though he also wouldn't fight it too hard. he preys on people for food so like he doesn't have much room to argue. but like don't be rude about it

zenith's only introduction to the material plane before showing up on it was via dreams, so his concept of the world and its general culture was very skewed, though he figured that out quickly. he's still learning stuff and i've got a google doc with a list of facts and 'facts' he's picked up on in the campaign so far. he's now under the impression that mushrooms can talk just in general, though it's not recommended, and as far as he knows it's normal for water ordered at taverns to be murky.

i wouldn't say that he's gullible, he just... y'know, he's an alien. and he doesn't want to tell anyone that he is so he's afraid to ask for clarification on things. so people say things with a certain confidence and he makes assumptions. or he asks for water at a tavern and he's handed a glass of water that's murky and he figures that's technically what he asked for, so, guess that happens sometimes!

i've also got notes on the lies that he has planned for his disguise. he picked an isolated town he visited once as his fake home town and has a story about his fake family and why he might not know things that he perhaps should etc.

i think... that's it for now... i'm sure i'll have more to talk about another time. i like this character a lot so i think about him a lot!!
