How to Control Your Thought Life | Charles Stanley [Colossians 3:1-3]
Charles Stanley delivered an impactful sermon on the importance of controlling our thoughts. With profound insight & practical wisdom, he emphasized our thoughts shape our actions & ultimately determine the trajectory of our lives.
Do you ever have problems struggling with your thoughts maybe thoughts you shouldn't have & maybe thoughts about people whatever it might be--sometimes you just allow your mind to sort of drift over into
    Unforgiveness/Pride/Lust/Anger
1.] Your Mind is Working
All kind of attitudes & thoughts in your mind that you know are not very good, then of course there are those thoughts of love, kindness, & goodness toward others.
But the truth is that your mind is working all the time--you're thinking something all the time.
Somebody says "Well sometimes I just don't think"
Oh yes you do, because your mind is not    a vacuum -- there is something there all    the time & so when these thoughts come    in your mind, how do you respond to that
Do you get some sense of satisfaction    about thinking something that's not right?
Do you feel guilty about it?
Do you feel like well I just can't help myself    or do you say the devil made me do it?
And so think about this:
You & I live in a society & in a time in a culture that our minds are continuously bombarded by things that we see on the television/movies, things we read in the newspapers
For example words that you hear/sites that you see -- our mind is always receiving all of these things, sometimes that's good & sometimes it's not so good..
1.1] What's the Secret to Change?
The question is how can you & I live a godly life & think right?
When we live in a world that's throwing all of these things that are not right at our mind.. & so how do we live in this kind of a culture and think right?
Let me just say this:
it's not going to change until JESUS comes, it's going to be the same, and we are not going to reach someday out there--where everything is right & everybody is gone
it's not going to be that way, so how do we learn to live in a godly fashion -- in a world that is so Antichrist?
I want you to listen very carefully
     Our thoughts are powerful
What you think today is affecting your life more than you realize: Who you are today is the result of what you've been thinking all these years.
And what you think today is going to      determine where you're going to be      tomorrow & what you're going to be      tomorrow because you see it's our      thoughts that cause us to become      what we are
it's our thoughts that influence our      relationships/choice of occupation,      our marriage partner..
it's our thoughts that cause us to move      in a certain direction and make certain      decisions that affect our finances that      affect every aspect of our life, that
affect our relationship to JESUS CHRIST
Our thoughts are powerful mediums & when you think about the fact of how awesome this mind is
You say well sometimes I don't think      mine's very awesome, I understand      that we all have different abilities..
But when I open the back of a computer for example & look down & see what seems to be total confusion because this little drop will look like lead here, & a little wire here going there..
Then I look at that this inanimate object & I can look on the screen & see this picture & I can hit a few keys and talk to somebody a long ways away—or just about any place in the world and everything imaginable
Then I open it back up & think no way, but      in somebody's mind they conceive the idea      of creating something like this
And GOD gave them the ability to think.
They had to think first of all about the possibility.
think about the ways it could be done, & so      what do we have? We have many wonderful      gadgets & awesome pieces of equipment &      technology — that make it possible for us to      get the Gospel around the world
And to make our life easy.
It all begins in the mind now.
youtube
1.2] How do we control our thoughts?
Because Satan is going to bombard us in every way he possibly can to get us off track & derail us.
get us the drifting into something that we    have no business being in, so I want you    to turn if you will take Colossians 3:1-3
I want us to read just these first three verses of this CH & this begins our whole message entitled:
    How to control your thoughts
Colossians 3:1-3 Therefore, since you have been raised with CHRIST—strive for the things above, where CHRIST is seated at the right hand of GOD.
² Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. ³ For you died, & your life is now hidden with CHRIST in GOD.
Now notice he says two things:
[1]  Keep seeking present active imperative          keep on doing it habitually keep seeking          CHRIST & then
[2]  Keep habitually setting your mind on the          things above, not on the things that are          on Earth because all of our thoughts are          either Heavenly or Earthly
All Earthly thoughts are not bad, Heavenly          thoughts are WHO JESUS is, WHO GOD is,          what is HE about, HIS wisdom, & all HIS          guidance, HIS power, HIS interest, HIS love          & devotion to us—as well as ours to HIM
And so with that in mind:
What I want us to do is, I want us to look at several aspects of this. And somebody objects saying, well how can I control my thinking?!”
Sometimes I can't! Well GOD gives us some    very clear warnings about that & I want you    to turn if you will..
First of all go back to Romans 8:5 & I want us to look at v.5 because here is one of a number of warnings in Scripture about the mind.
And they will not be here if they were not important & remember this—nowhere in the Bible does it say that GOD is going to govern your mind.
GOD is not going to make that decision.    HE makes it possible for us to make godly    decisions, but HE's not going to make it    for us—so I want you to look if you will    in Romans 8:5-8
Romans 8:5-8 | Walking by the SPIRIT [Ezekiel 36:16-38; Galatians 5:16-26]
⁵ Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the SPIRIT set their minds on the things of the SPIRIT.
⁶ The mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the SPIRIT is life & peace, ⁷ because the mind of the flesh is hostile to GOD: It does not submit to GOD's law, nor can it do so.
⁸ Those controlled by the      flesh cannot please GOD.
HE says for those who are according to the flesh or that is living after their naturalness, means the naturalness how you live before you were saved.
HE says for those who are according to the Flesh & their naturalness—they set their mind on things of the flesh that is the worldly things, things that are not godly.
But those who are according to the SPIRIT,      on the things of the SPIRIT—that is godly      people think in terms of the things of the      SPIRIT—the ungodly do not.
HE says for the mind set on the flesh, our naturalness is death—but the mindset on the SPIRIT is life & peace because the mind set on the flesh
—that is our naturalness, those sinful tendencies we have is hostile toward GOD, for it does not subject itself to the law of GOD
for it's not even able to do so
A lost person cannot live a godly life, an ungodly person does not think in terms of godliness but earthly things..
Things that are essentially materialistic & secular kind of things, so he says the mindset and the flesh is death.
The Mind Settlement
   •  The SPIRIT is life & peace
Then because the mindset in the flesh, listen to this: is hostile toward GOD, they don't want GOD in their life—it doesn't subject itself, that is their mindset, it doesn't subject itself to the law of GOD.
They don't believe it don't want to abide by it.
But it's not even able to do so, & those who are in the flesh cannot please GOD. Now your lost friends may say, "Well I'm this or that & the other."
The Bible says:
If you are unsaved, you've never trusted JESUS CHRIST --you're living in the flesh, that is in your naturalness your five natural tendencies that GOD has given us & these dictate your life.
You cannot walk in the SPIRIT of GOD, you cannot live a godly life, & live that way.
Go back if you will to Romans 1 for a moment & I want to show you a very strong verse--all this has to do with our mind & if you look at Romans 1:28
HE says & this is the longest list of sins given anywhere in Scripture, but HE says in v.28 Those who have turned away from GOD:
Romans 1:28 | ²⁸ Furthermore, since they did not    see fit to acknowledge GOD, HE gave them up to    depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.
Now why has HE said depraved mind? [8:17]
Because GOD is simply saying to us our actions are the result of the way we think--a depraved mind is a mind that is morally corrupt.
that is it is morally & totally corrupt, it does      not think about spiritual things. It does not      want to think about spiritual things because      it's all earthly to them..
sensuality, materialism, & all the things that      they think will bring them happiness & peace      in life--which you & I know does not.
And the truth is, if they were honest--they'd have to say no I don't have peace. I am living in anxiety no no no no
all the things they boast of when the truth      comes out, that's not who they are because      GOD says they cannot [tell anything but lies]

Freedom is a Two-edged Sword. It Cuts Both Ways
Freedom is a Two-edged Sword. It Cuts Both Ways
Here in the United States we talk a lot about freedom, and we live in a culture that certainly loves to celebrate it. People are free to do what they want, to exercise their rights, and to feel independent of control by others. Independence Has a Cost But, Freedom is a door that swings both ways. The Bible has a lot to say about our freedom to choose, and about all the contingencies that result…

Has God Given You Over?
Has God Given You Over?
By Adrian Rogers “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting.”  Romans 1:28 Three times in the first chapter of Romans, God speaks of giving people up: “God gave them up” (Romans 1:24); “God gave them up” (Romans 1:26); and “God gave them over” (Romans 1:28). The old‑time preachers used to call…

“But the LORD abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment. And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity. The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble; And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.” —Psalm 9:7-10
“Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations; You established the earth, and it stands.” —Psalm 119:90
“‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’” —Jeremiah 29:11
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” —Romans 8:28
“For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.” —Hebrews 4:15
“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” —Isaiah 41:10
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.” —Psalm 46:1
“God Inspires Our Trust” By In Touch Ministries:
“Our Father in heaven always keeps His promises and never leaves us alone.”
“As far as children can tell, their mom and dad know everything and can do anything. And kids typically don’t question that assumption without reason (for example, if they see a parent mishandle a situation or someone else influences their level of trust). Parents demonstrate reliability by consistently providing shelter, food, and safety—and also by lovingly teaching, comforting, and guiding their sons and daughters. Then the children can sleep in peace, knowing their needs will be met.
Likewise, we know that we can trust our heavenly Father because He has shown Himself trustworthy from the beginning of time. Psalm 119:90 says, “[God’s] faithfulness continues throughout generations.” He has never broken a promise, and His plans for us have always been for our good (Jeremiah 29:11; Romans 8:28). What’s more, God understands our weaknesses and never asks us to do anything that He won’t help us accomplish (Hebrews 4:15; Isaiah 41:10). We can trust that even in the worst situations, He will be with us (Psalm 46:1).
What does trusting God look like in your life this week? Where can you relinquish control to Him?”
[All Bible verses are in the NASB1995 Translation.]

I Believe- No Matter What
“I Believe – No Matter What” is a powerful statement. The question is, what exactly is it that I believe? To say that, I must be very confident of what I am putting my faith in. And I am. What do I Believe? First of all, I want to define the word “believe” and when I looked up the definition for it, I found that it meant: “to accept something as true; feel sure of the…

When You Think You are Losing
There are those times in life when we lose. But there are also those times in life when we think we are losing and we aren’t. Sometimes life is kicking us in the shins and when we fall to the ground in pain we get kicked in the head as well. In our family, we have a “family slogan” about this phenomenon. “Somedays you eat the bear,Somedays the bear eats you,Somedays the bear just swallows you…

A Credible Resurrection Requires Credible Witnesses
(The resurrection on Easter Sunday, the last of the Ten days of Passion Week)  All over the world, people today are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” —1 Thessalonians 5:16
“In all circumstances part 1: trust in God's character” By Antique Candle Co.:
“Why is it that we most often seek the Lord during the valleys of life? We know from His Word that He wants us to seek Him in every season. During the peaks, with moments of great joy and celebration; during the valleys, in times of worry and uncertainty. Not only does He desire His children to seek Him out, but He calls us to be faithful in all circumstances.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding...” —Proverbs 3:5
Trusting in the Lord's character allows us to find hope in every situation. It's not just about trusting God to get us through the difficult moments, but fully trusting in who He is, which extends to every moment of life.
So what is God's character? Many things. God cannot be compared to anything else in all creation. He created all things. Therefore, there are some attributes of Christ we can and cannot understand. We can't understand being 'unchanging' or 'all-knowing' ourselves because, as we are finite beings, we are neither. However, His Word tells us these truths about Him so that we may trust the characteristics that are unique to God alone. We can see and acknowledge the truth of His character in the Word and in our own lives.
GOD IS UNCHANGING:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” —Hebrews 13:8
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” —James 1:17
GOD IS FAITHFUL:
“...if we are faithless, he remains faithful—for he cannot deny himself.” —2 Timothy 2:13
“The Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever and his faithfulness to all generations.” —Psalm 100:5
GOD IS ALL-KNOWING:
“He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge—the Lord—knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.” —Psalm 94:9
GOD IS SOVEREIGN:
“For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” —Romans 11:36
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight.” —Ephesians 1:7-8
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” —Romans 8:28
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” —Matthew 24:14
Place your trust in a God who is unchanging, faithful, all-knowing, sovereign, and so much more. In all circumstances, His character is something that will never fail.”

What does your future spouse look like? — a pick-a-pile Tarot reading ❀
Pinned | Ko-Fi | Other Collective Readings
Non-gendered. Take what resonates, leave what doesn't. There are three piles to choose from:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pile 1
This person could be around the age of 20-30 when you meet. They have a youthful appearance. They have rather “gentle” facial features and long dark blonde hair. Their eye color could be green. They always look somewhat calm and composed, and their gaze is almost enthralling but soft.
They probably exercise or did it in the past—they seem to care about their physique. They could be 5’2 or 5’5 in height. I feel like their fingers are long. They might wear flowery patterns from time to time and do various hairstyles. They have a small nose.
Cards: Page of Pentacles, The Empress, IV of Swords.
Pile 2
This person could be around the age of 26-40 when you meet. They have blonde hair and seem rather stern at first. They could be 5’7-5’9 in height and have brown eyes. They usually wear more elegant clothing, probably because of their job or because they simply like to appear more “serious” and “official”.
When you get to know them better, you'll notice the gentler and graceful side of their looks. They might have thin eyebrows, a straight nose, and full lips.
Cards: X of Wands, Page of Cups, High Priestess.
Pile 3
This person could be around the age of 28-48 when you meet. They seem to have more mature and/or stern looks. They have long brown or red hair, probably with a few grey ones from stress already. They could be 5’6-5’11 in height and have brown or green eyes.
They don't care about their clothing and how people will see them because of it that much. I think that they like to dress up, cosplay, or play in the theater. They might have a “roman” nose and heavy lower lip. They wear a lot of jewelry.
Cards: King of Pentacles, IV of Pentacles, VII of Cups.

Windenburg Train Station [Restaurant + Cafe ] ♥ The Sims 4: Speed Build // CC
♥ Hi guys, Today I present to you The Windenburg Train Station located in Windslar. This train station is known for it's Classical Architecture and beautiful historic interiors that has been conserved for decades. While the interior was updated with modern furniture's, the overall structure and essence of the building remains the same.
Located inside is a 5 star restaurant, "Florentine," and a café, "Stella's Cafe," where sims can dine and lounge while waiting.
The Windenburg Train Station is a multifunctional lot athat can be set as a restaurant or a Cafe. Some Spaces were left empty as I did not want to overly clutter the space with too many custom content. Feel free to decorate it!
Considering that this is a multifunctional lot, I recommend downloading LittleMsSam's Lock Door mod to lock doors in community lots. This will give you more control of the space. If you want your sims to specifically be seated inside the restaurant, I suggest locking the doors to the cafe and other parts of the building.
READ ME ♥ Please make sure to turn on bb.moveobjects on! ♥ Please DO NOT reupload or claim as your own. ♥ Feel free to tag me if you are using it, I love seeing my build in other peoples save file but please make sure to credit me. ♥ This is a huge build and is very cc heavy, so beware. I did however tried to use cc's from the same creators so it is easier to manage and download! I used alot of cc's from @felixandresims @harrie-cc @charlypancakes @pierisim and more!
