Recently, I was so lucky to commission @gooseinsoup to draw my two beloved blorbos. I saw their art of Harv in his Ginger Island outfit and it reminded me of the times I'd referenced Lyra and Harvey's honeymoon in both my long fic, and the above excerpt, from my flower dance one-shot.

In my mind, I just knew that Harvey would give her his huge silly hat. They've been talking about taking a trip again. Maybe that will happen in the last few chapters of the long fic...

"Please y/n" Mason asked, his eyes begging you and his mouth in a pout. "Mason" you laughed, raking your fingers through his hair which made him whine in need to get an answer.

"You know it's not up to me" you defended giggling at his childish behavior as he slumped down into the couch with a groan. "I know" he sighed, pulling your arm gently to get you to sit down in his lap.

You smiled as you leaned your head back against his shoulder, his face nuzzling in your neck. You where soft for him, sighing before meeting his eyes.

"What if I drive up to you after training? That way they can meet her but it wont be on training time" you suggested, your heart fluttering as his face lit up with a splitting smile. "You would do that?"

"Of course" you hummed, raking your fingers through his hair again but this time he met it with a hum of satisfaction instead, leaning his head on your chest. "I know how important it is for you" you hummed.

You had welcomed you daughter Lyra about a year ago, Mason immediately stepping up as an great father and doing everything he could to balance his career and family life, just as you but it hadn't been too much struggle. She just fit right in your routine.

Mason had wanted to take her to training for a long time now, he had already taken her to meet the Chelsea squad a couple of months ago but he wanted her to meet the England lads as well but it was a bit trickier considering it was pretty far to the training ground.

"What time does your training end?" you hummed "Three" he answered sleepily "Okay"

It had been an easy and slow morning for you. Lyra had been sleeping long and was now laying in her baby-seat quietly in the car. She looked at you and said a few words every now and then but she was in a good mood. The drive was easy and you arrived at 15:07, perfect time and you grinned at yourself, high-fiving your skills.

You packed Lyra out of the car and walked towards the training pitch where they were still kicking balls around, just playing.

Mason perked up at the sound of your shoes against the gravel, his smile lightning up as he saw the two of you, immediately jogging over to meet you. "Hi princess" he cooed, making the little girl giggle as she kissed his cheek. "Hi to you to" he smiled, kissing your lips gently before turning back to the squealing girl, taking her out of your hands.

You walked with him to the middle of the pitch to greet the boys, hugging each of them and exchanging some words with them as Mason stood with Declan. "Oi! I want to meet her!" Jack exclaimed, pushing Declan away as he took the little girl, lifting her straight up like he wanted to inspect her.

You stepped back a few steps and sat down in the grass, leaning against your palms to watch the scene in front of you, a smile on your face as you watched them interact with Lyra.

"Oh my gosh she is adorable" Marcus squeled, scooping her up from Jack's arms who whined at his friend.

"She is, it's all thanks to me" Mason huffed cockily making you scoff.

"Oh come on man, she is maybe 80% y/n" Phil laughed agreeing with you and shoving Mason on the shoulder. "Ouch!" he whined, taking Lyra back into his arms. "She is my twin" he argued. The boys giggled at him

"Nah man, she is y/n's copy, that's probably why she is so cute" Declan cooed at the baby, making her laugh. Mason on the other hand gasped dramatically "Oi! first you say my daughter looks nothing like me and then you hit on my wife?"

Declan laughed giving you a wink as Mason gasped again not loving the joke but you could only laugh and wink back at Declan.

"No no no" Mason huffed, narrowing his eyes at your teasing grin but he couldn't help but let the smile take over his face.

You spent around an hour on the pitch before you had to let Lyra rest, her smile never intact but her eyes began to droop closed as she sat in Kyle's lap on the grass, Raheem sitting next and talking with the little girl who was spent to the limit after having stumbled around the grass with the boys who wanted to see if she could kick the ball. Mason had already announced she would be a football-star after she had kicked it very slowly into the goal on the side of Trent who had pretended to be a keeper. She had squealed of happiness, probably not because of the goal but because of the boys excitement and reactions, having caused her to tumble around in a fit of giggles.

"Can I keep her?" Raheem pouted as he held the now asleep girl in his arms, not wanting to let her go. Saka stood next to him, also pouting at the sleeping girl. "She is literally too adorable" he gushed making you grin.

"Okay okay, give me my princess now" Mason huffed, smiling as Raheem reluctantly passed her over.

"Okay, we will go now, see you tomorrow lads" Mason greeted goodbye before you both started to move back to the car. "If you don't bring her don't come!" Jack shouted after you which made you both laugh, Mason giving him the finger behind his back.

You sighed, leaning your head against his shoulder with a content smile on your face, feeling relaxed and happy. "Thank you" Mason mumbled in your ear, wrapping his free arm around your waist. "Love you" he mumbled

YES YOU CAN!

When his children are born, he’s literally twitching with happiness and excitement. He looks at his s/o holding his kids and just breaks down in happiness. Like crying happy tears. He kisses his s/os face all over and hugs them. He looks down at his children with nothing but love. His heart has never been so happy.

So if Toby had a kid I’d think he’d raise them about the same regardless of gender but I can name a few differences and how he interacts w them depending on gender

If he had a boy oh my god…it would be perfect for him. Toby is literally hyperactive and up beat so keeping up with a small boy would be no problem for him. I can see him chasing his kid around till they’re both exhausted. Toby’s also loud so I can see him and his son having random screaming contests. Toby and his son would definitely play ball in the house and break something and would quickly clean it up together before Toby’s s/o could find out. When questioned about something being missing Toby and his son would look at each other and shrug “I dunno…have you seen it,kid?” “Nope! I haven’t!” Toby definitely sees himself in his son and aims to be the father his dad never was. So when his son acts up, he doesn’t get upset or take it out on him. He takes time to actually teach him. They also definitely have eating contests together. Like seeing who can eat the most food the fastest. They have races, they play video games together, they wrestle. Just Toby being a good dad to his son.

With his daughter he only had one name in mind, Lyra. Toby loved her more than anyone just like he loves his daughter more than anyone. Her memory will live on in his daughter. The name just fills his heart with joy. Toby looks up YouTube tutorials on how to do his daughter’s hair, she has loose curls like Toby does. He also learns how to do her hair from his wife/ s/o. “Do you like this hairstyle, Lyra?” “Hmm I want the ponytail higher” “You got it! Let me find a tutorial” Toby lets his daughter paint his nails and put bows in his hair. Toby and his daughter bake together, sing together and go shopping together. Although she’s still a little kid with a lot of energy so Toby and her have races and run around playing ball in the house alongside her brother and Toby. Toby definitely sneaks her candy because she’s just so cute. Constant forehead kisses.

For both of them he teaches them how to ride scooters and bikes. When they’re older he teaches them how to fight. For his son he really ingrains in him to never hit a woman/ girl. Toby makes them dinner as best as he can or at least supports his s/o who is cooking. He has to look up YouTube tutorials on healthy meals for kids because growing up and up to a few years ago he was living off ramen and other instant foods. Toby gives both of them lots of hugs and affection because that’s what he always wanted as a kid. Him and his kids take naps together after they’re exhausted. Toby sleeps in the middle mouth open and snoring and his kids are on either side of him, resting in his arms. Toby lets his kids eat dessert before dinner, but is trying to stop because he wants to be responsible. He takes his kids to the park and chases them around on the playground. He made them a tire swing in the woods. He’ll do anything for them.

Toby definitely still has mental issues and mood swings but instead of letting his kids see that he’ll isolate himself and let his wife/ s/o take over for the day. He doesn’t even want to risk behaving like his dad in anyway. He doesn’t want his kids to see him as anything but loving and supportive.“Your dad’s not feeling well so let’s go to the park.” Toby is scared that he passed on some of his issues to his kids but even if he did, he’s going to love and support them regardless. Nothing in this world will make him stop loving them. Toby broke the cycle of abuse by just being a good dad. He rebuilt the family that he lost so many years ago. And he’s the man that he’s always wanted to be.

BUT she'd definitely have to do more coaxing to get toby to come to her apartment. she lives in the city and that's not really his thing, but nat works over there so it's whatever to her.

assuming jeff is gone (only way tobys coming over), nina would be so cute about it. she'd have a blow up mattress set up in the living room, brought several bags of different candies and chips, put up random fairy lights, lit some candles so it smells sweet. her apartment is usually a little messy cuz she's a busy girl but for them . . she cleaned.

i could see nina being a really touchy person, constantly hooking arms with people and hugging them and playing with peoples fingers and stuff. it would take toby and nat forever to get used to it bc its admittedly kinda weird and invades personal space but she's so genuine with it and sweet and like :D theyre like OKAY FINE . so they'd just be walking around doing whatever and nina would pop up grabbing them like 'what r u doing in my kitchen :) the movies still playing :) youre missing the climax :) theres food out there :) youre making me mad :)'. or sitting watching a movie n she dozes off on their shoulder. etc.

nina would be swapping movies between things like 'to all the boys ive ever loved' to like... saw. oddly enough nat and toby are more likely to sit still and watch the romcoms just cuz they get invested in the plot ... LMFAO

i cant see nina actually getting them to play any sleepover games, BUT she'd hook up a switch. she'd try to play smth like overcooked with them but they rage too fucking hard and she has to swap to like. a mario game.

ok maybe she could get them to play like 2 rounds of truth or dare or never have i ever.

nat would like sour and hard candy... toby would like chocolate candy and baked stuff.... so nina would get the candy together and make them all bake some brownies.

she'd also make them make normal sugar cookies and try to decorate them but toby would make the ugliest fucking cookie possible and give up and let the girls decorate.

realistically nat and nina would end up on the air mattress and toby on the couch, BUT if they were stuck with just a bed, toby would take the floor. he'd offer cuz he's not about to share a bed with either of them.. but he'd prob wake up with nina on the floor too cuz nat KICKS in her sleep. nina curls up like a cat

nina falls asleep first. toby falls asleep last.

nina would try to convince them to let her do their makeup but toby would get irritated that she'd even ask. .

she'd defintely make them do skincare with her though .. nina uses snail mucin and the other two think she's weird.

the next morning ninas awake first and making pancakes. she walks away to go to the bathroom and gets distracted by washing her face and doing her hair and stuff and burns them so bad it wakes toby up... he comes in and turns off the stove and just waits for her to come back to call her dumb.

nat wakes up last and is so disorientated for like 30 mins after waking up... she just eats the food like a zombie until nina makes her wash her face again and shes up properly.

she'd try to get them to stay as long as possible, but theyre exhausted and as sweet as nina is, she's a bit much . . so they go home LOL. but nina would send them the cutest little "thank u for coming over i had fun i love u guys :3" text the next day and theyll feel kinda bad for leaving.

nina is just such a genuinely nice girl .... she just wants to live the teenage dream well into her 20s because she was um. Um. she behaved in a way. that um. highschool was not the most pleasant. and threw many of her teen years away for Um. a man. of sorts.

Obviously my lock screen is Din. There are so few shots of Pedro as helmetless Din looking at the camera, so I covet the ones we do have, and this is my favourite because he’s groomed correctly. (Unlike the Vanity Fair photoshoot where his moustache was too thick and made him look more like Joel Miller cosplaying as Din Djarin 😭). The wonderful thing about Pedro is that he makes tiny physical adjustments to distinguish each character he plays, and this photo from the Empire magazine cover was spot on for Din in terms of grooming and sexy intensity. I mean, okay, the editors cropped his hair poorly when importing the image, which spoiled the overall effect, but that’s why I’ve zoomed in so you can’t see the unnaturally smooth back of his head 😅. Like this, he’s perfection. You can see his scar and he looks like he’s got a bruised cheek, but he’s also looking right into your soul 😍

Last song was Faith Hill’s This Kiss. I heard it on the radio in the car the other day and I’m a sucker for 90s hits, so it immediately got added to my Spotify playlist. (Also, since my brain is wholly occupied by Din Djarin 99.9% of the time, I then spent the rest of the journey wondering what he would think of songs like that if he ended up on Earth. A whole song about kissing and the poor guy can’t even take off his helmet…? Did I maybe write a scene in my head where this conversation happens and results in him finding a convenient loophole? Well, my list of fic ideas I’ll probably never write has one more bulletpoint now at least!)

Rating the new Monster High designs 'cause I honestly love them.

1. Clawdeen

I love that they gave her actual fur and a wolf nose!

All the moons incorporated into her look pull the whole thing together

HER FRECKLES ARE SO CUTE.

The whole "half-human" is new but I kinda like it

My only problem is that her lighter hair with the purple streaks is too much purple; i feel like her darker hair would have balanced it put more.

2. Draculaura

Her hair seems a lot more vampiric; the split color with the pointed bangs? Nice

I like that they kinda made her a rebel. wants to be a witch when its forbidden? I get that

just as a note, i haven't seen my little pony since i was like. 11. and also i don't think i watched beyond twilight becoming an alicorn. my knowledge of later seasons mostly comes from horsecomix. so if i say anything that contradicts the Horse Lore, sorry about that.

ok now for individual designs.

yuma is a unicorn, mostly because mystery labyrinths require him to be able to hold a sword and talk at the same time. in addition to his memories, he lost his cutie mark in the pact, so everyone who sees him is like "damn you're an amnesiac AND a blank flank? pick a struggle". he doesn't have any accessories by default, but he probably gets a little hat in the rain + his cape in the mystery labyrinth. he was the first pony i drew, so his face looks a little janky. i struggled with drawing the ponies from any angle other than a perfect sideview, and the snouts/mouths were the hardest parts by far. the front view i did for yuma was a bit easier than the 3/4 view i did for most of the cast, but it was still tougher than i expected. pony artists who mimic the style of the show have all of my respect.

shinigami's spirit form was changed a little bit, although it was already so abstracted compared to a real human that i didn't feel i needed to change much in order to make her fit into the pony universe. i just swapped her horns out for wings and gave her a horn. i also removed her thumbs and made her colors closer to her human (er, pony) form. she's no longer a "death god" in the traditional sense, now being the "princess of death" in the same way twilight is the princess of friendship or cadence is the princess of love. she was sealed away because she was shit at her job (just killed a fuckton of people for no reason) but anypony who stumbled across the book she was sealed in can make a contract w her just like in rain code canon. obvi this is a little dark for the actual mlp universe, they wouldn't be putting a trigger-happy murder princess in their rated y cartoon, but this is the same fanbase that made fuckin. cupcakes and rainbow factory and a whole slew of others that make the main characters of mlp infinitely more fucked up than canon shinigami ever was. so i feel like we can have a little suspension of disbelief here.

shinigami's true form is an alicorn, obvi. she's a god princess, she's gonna be an alicorn. i tried to refrain from giving the characters too many accessories to better mimic the simpler mane 6 designs, but shinigami looked so naked with just the crown. so she also got her flower and little necklace. i didn't even attempt to put her hair in braids, since drawing her face at that angle was such a challenge already. upon posting this, i also realize i forgot to give her a tail. just imagine any tail you want on her. pin the tail on the shinigami. her cutie mark has the same dark void effect as nightmare moon's, although i can't remember if luna also has it as well. regardless, it's a visual tie-in to nightmare moon, who has a similar "princess banished to an inanimate object" thing going on. the actual cutie mark itself is two bones, representing death in a cutesy cartoony fashion. i was gonna do a skull and crossbones but then i realized. no one knows what a human skull looks like. there's no people. and i am NOT about to draw a fucking horse skull. so, bones it is.

yakou is probably the one i'm proudest of! i feel like i really captured the essence of the background pony in him. i feel like i could see him hanging out with lyra heartstrings and dr. whooves and i wouldn't bat an eyelash. his hair is a little longer than in the original design but i think it looks cute so it's fine. his cutie mark is an umbrella because his calling as a detective leads him to protect others like an umbrella protects you from the rain, plus kanai ward has its whole Thing. and he can be kind of a gloomy person at times, very pessimistic. he's an earth pony because he's just a normal guy, no forte in canon and stuff like that.

makoto was probably the trickiest to actually design. the element of mystery is super important in the original character design, but he was able to still have some skin exposed since almost all of the character designs in that game have a skintone of "homestuck white". in mlp, where coat colors can be any color of the rainbow (and the colors outside of the rainbow), makoto would lose that element of mystery. so, while i generally try to avoid putting the ponies in clothes, makoto kind of needed them. he's got his full suit and a set of gloves and white shoes for his hooves. instead of being a sort of "paper plate" mask, he's got a rubber halloween mask that extends past his neck instead. don't ask how the mane comes out of the mask. we don't ask how canon makoto's mask stays on with no straps, so don't ask about this one. the mask goes over his horn, so it blocks out most powerful magic, but basic spells like levitation are still possible with a bit of effort. the pants of his suit hide his cutie mark, and when asked about what it is, he gives a different answer each time.

kurumi isn't a super complicated or in-depth design. just a cute lil earth pony with a cutie mark of a speech bubble, since she does a lot of information gathering via talking to others. in hindsight, i should've given her freckles in the same color as her body outline. imagine she has freckles please. thank you.

fubuki is the design where i actually got the courage to attempt a braid. no idea if it looks good, i didn't use a reference and my hair is too short to braid it myself. i wanted an earth pony in the core group of nda members, and i was sort of torn between her and desuhiko. however, i'm a personal believer in the "all ponies can use magic on some level" theory, and that theory posits that earth ponies have a tendency to be able to use the intrinsic magic of their planet in subtle ways. applejack can enhance her physical strength without really doing anything consciously, and most importantly, pinkie pie can bend the laws of reality for The Bit. i think time travel is kinda like bending the laws of reality for The Bit. plus, desuhiko's disguise ability is kinda like an illusion, which feels like more of a unicorn ability. her cutie mark is a clock. because. uh. you know.

desuhiko is a unicorn for reasons i mentioned in fubuki's notes. his backpack is worn like a saddle, but he can still use it to disguise himself like in rain code canon. his cutie mark is the bag with a star on it, hinting that there's a superstar (him) in the bag. not much to say about him other than that.

vivia is a pegasus. since his forte allows him to fly, it makes sense for him to be able to fly in his base form as well - he'd get used to the flight powers inherent to his ability a lot quicker if he could already do it. he's definitely more of a fluttershy than a rainbow dash in terms of how he uses his ability to fly. he prefers to walk, but if his legs get tired, he'll switch to flying for a little bit. but then both his legs and his wings get tired and he takes a little nap. that's what the pose is meant to be, altho it does look a bit like he's flying. his cutie mark is a disappearing flash shape, as his spirit form is invisible and he tends to disappear into the background in general. someone in the rain coat server told me he looks like stoney pony and i haven't been able to get that out of my mind.

halara was the last pony i drew, because i love them and wanted to get as much pony-drawing experience as i could before turning them into an equine. can't have my pookie bear looking like shit! they are also a pegasus, but not for forte reasons like vivia. rather, they just do impressive feats of athleticism on the reg, and i feel like they would be a great flyer as a result. imagine the scene where yuma calls for help while being detained by seth and the peacekeepers. a blue and purple bursts onto the scene from the fucking clouds and halara is divebombing the peacekeepers. that'd be sick as fuck. their cutie mark is an eye, because postcognition is all about sight.

I hope by now that you already know, but just in case you didn't, I absolutely adore this pairing! When I first started reading "Dandelion Wishes," I actually made my poor sister listen to me rant about how much I love this ship (and she hadn't even read the fic so she had no clue what I was talking about), and honestly I had more to say about them than most canon x canon Black Clover pairings, so needless to say, it is definitely canon in my mind.

William is such a sweetheart, and I can really imagine him as someone who has domestic dreams of finding love, settling down, and having a family so it warms my heart to see that he did get to have this (even if it ended in tragedy--which I will never get over. They deserved their happy ending! 😭 Even if I'll admit the angst is delicious, and their boy, Alistair, is just so precious to me).

Also, your backstory for how the two of them ended up together is just delightful. Honestly, "Dandelion Wishes" is one of my favorite fanfictions I've ever read in my life, and I have been so invested in it and in William and Zera's relationship from day one. They are so perfect for each other in my opinion, just absolutely made-for-each-other soulmates. I love how they share common interests but have a lot of balance in personality with Zera a little more headstrong and William a little more reserved. They really are in awe of each other's strengths too and have so much respect and admiration for their differences which I just adore.

Zera as a character is so vibrant and so real to me, as well. She just commands attention every time she appears, and every time she does pretty much anything, I can just vividly imagine William staring lovingly awestruck at her and zest for life with hearts in his eyes or floating around his head like in an old cartoon. (He's so in love! I'm going to cry!) Also, her quirks and the adorable way she names her plants is super endearing, and the fact that she is a florist only makes me love her more (but my family actually runs a flower shop (A/N: But I don't work there), so I think I'm very biased in this regard 😅).

I honestly don't get this intense about ships all that often, but I cannot describe to you in words how much I think about this pairing and how desperately I need them to kiss. And I mean desperately. To be perfectly honest with you, at this point, I am so invested in it that it's really hard for me to imagine William with anyone else...which concerns the more neutral, multi-shipper part of me, if I'm being honest, but this ship is just that good. Reading about them has made me laugh and cry and squeal just like (and in many cases more than) reading about any ship between canon characters, and I'm honestly just in awe of how compelling this ship and their story is. I really can't thank you enough for creating Zera, Zerilliam, and the masterpiece that is "Dandelion Wishes"! 💖

Aww they're cute. 😊 To be honest with you though (and I am very sorry to have to say this) in general ships with Yuno in them aren't really my cup of tea personally since I tend to see Yuno as someone who isn't all that interested in romance and (possibly) would just never really want that kind of relationship. That said, according to the Assorted Question Brigade in Vol. 31 he does have a “type” of person he likes...so who knows? Maybe someday he'll want to find love. If he did, I would definitely be supportive of that, and I'm not against the idea of shipping him. It's just not something I personally have ever given much thought to, and, for that reason, I feel pretty neutral towards Yuno ships in general and don't have many thoughts or opinions (Again, I'm sorry about that).

All of that said, if I was to imagine Yuno falling in love, YuNeva is a very sweet pairing, and they make me smile in your stories and posts about them. I really enjoyed them in COTF too! ^^ Going back to that Assorted Question Brigade I mentioned, Yuno himself described his "type" as "someone who's relaxing to be around," and that's something that really sticks out to me about his relationship with Neva. It's very comfortable and almost cozy. They just work so well together, and it feels effortless--like they just naturally gravitate towards each other and genuinely enjoy each other's company. I love that a lot, and I also love how their bond is built on mutual respect and admiration. They really support each other and the moments they can share their vulnerabilities are always very compelling to me. I also think Neva is just a great character on her own (especially her platonic bond with William. So wholesome!). I like her dynamic with Yuno a lot too and how they complement each other. I think I'm a little more invested in their friendship (because I'm weird like that), but I could definitely see them very happy together romantically and I definitely want good things for both of them, so I'd support them falling in love and think you’ve done a great job crafting their love story. 💕

Asta & Yuno

Aww I adore them, and their brotherly bond. Their dynamic and rivalry which is built on a such a strong foundation of familial love and mutual respect was what initially hooked me in Black Clover, and it has been such a delight getting to watch their individual journeys and how they have supported each other through the series. I'm getting a little emotional just thinking about it, honestly. 🥹

One of my favorite things about them is just how wildly different they are as people. Asta has such a big personality, and Yuno is so reserved, but their differences are always respected and really help inspire each other. In that way, I love that their relationship is kind of a twist on the usual rivals dynamic because it isn't just Asta trying to live up to the (quite frankly very OP) Yuno but Yuno also views Asta as his rival as well because he has so much admiration for his passion, resilience, and determination. I was not expecting that when I first watched the anime and thought it was such a refreshing reveal. I love how Yuno's genuine admiration for Asta has been such a driving force for his character throughout the series.

Fuegoleon & Nozel

Yes! I love this dynamic! Nozel being tsundere about his friendship feelings is just so entertaining, and I love to see the trope used in a platonic way instead of just an explicitly romantic one. The love between friends is really important too and can also be difficult to express sometimes, so it was really great to see Nozel kind of struggle with that and struggle with how much Fuegoleon means to him and how much he admires and respects him even if he lacks the words to say it. And yes, it was kind of played for laughs sometimes, (and my sister and I made so many "tsundere besties" jokes about them while binging the anime), but even so, there is something really genuine and really wholesome about their friendship. Getting to see how Nozel reacted to Fuegoleon's injury and subsequent coma and how motivated he was by his respect and admiration for him was just really compelling, and I found the scene in the elf arc in which Nozel is thinking of their rivalry and how much Fuegoleon inspires him to be really moving. Definitely a solid BROTP!

Her Loki in the first two books is very enjoyable and he rules over goblins for a while, among other things. I also thought the way rune birthmarks worked in here was fun.

Norse Mythology-Neil Gaiman

It's an entertaining overview of the myths. If you're unfamiliar with them it's a good place to start.

Adult:

Black Wolf: The Binding of Loki-Una Verdandi

I don't recommend if you want a soft!Loki or one that remains a decent person. Loki is interesting and feels like a force of nature. But let's just say he's like the Joker with all that implies. But I thought it was a worthwhile read (very long). It has probably the best Sigyn depiction I've encountered. She feels like a real person! I go more in detail here. I'd pay attention to the things I warn about in case they're deal-breakers or triggers. My review is not spoiler free but contains warnings.

American Gods-Neil Gaiman

Has very interesting premise and a multiple pantheons existing at the same time. It's fun how the deities adapt to the USA and modern times.

The Goddess of Nothing at All-Cat Rector

This book is basically a Norse myth whump fic. I would avoid if that's not your thing because I can see how someone else might hate it. I know I like it because making fictional characters suffer is my guilty pleasure. You won't be laughing at the mythology-based Loki memes. I don't think it's perfect. For example, I dislike that they have to make Loki's every action "justified", such as cutting Sif's hair because Sif called him fantasy racism slurs. Let him be a bit of an asshole just because. The disproportionate punishment makes it difficult not to sympathize with Loki either way. I don't know how I feel about her Sygin. It's the 2nd best Sygin I've seen yet in books. She has a personality, is likeable, and is not a doormat, but something about her and this Loki feels sanitized to me. Like the author was checking boxes for Sygin and Loki. I don't know how to explain it.

Father of Monsters-A. B. Frost

Short read. Loki is a loveable little shit that gets the Aesir into trouble and takes one for the team to get them out of it. I really liked this characterization and it had cute illustrations of Loki, Angrboda, and Jormungandr.

The Nine Worlds Rising Series-Lyra Wolf

They're not perfect. I think her Loki is very funny and likable but too sanitized. And Sigyn has no flaws other than caring too much for her no-good brother while the other goddesses are evil witches. But the author has a very comedic writing voice that is highly enjoyable and keeps the stakes high so that you want to keep on reading. I also like how one of the books starts with a very vengeful Loki and draws comparisons to Lucifer. Thought that was cool. Also, some reactions to some reveals didn't land the impact as well as they should. They do tease the Odin/Loki abusive relationship, but not with the toxicity I wanted, and Odin goes on a redemption path a bit too soon for my liking (while making all the goddesses evil witches...). There's also a lot of anachronistic language in here, such as Loki mentioning a Chihuahua.

Books I haven't read but I know of their existence:

Loki-Melvin Burgess (I saw a Sigyn stan complain about it, but I am not sure how seriously to take her complaints because she said shipping myth!Loki with say Balder or Thor or Odin was "incestuous" because Loki is Odin's "blood brother" despite Loki being unrelated to everyone but Narfi and Nari on Asgard). My standards for Loki don't require that Loki be a paragon of morality, unlike hers. UPDATE: A mutual told me it's horribly transphobic and has rape apologia.

Harbinger of the End-Nicki Chapelway (I've seen praise from Logyn shippers for this one)

Loki: Nine Naughty Tales of the Trickster by Mike Vasich

I saw an excerpt with a rather humorous joke, but the one other Mike Vasich Loki book I read bored the hell out of me. So I haven't given it a chance for that reason.

he lowkey loves watching you fail at games. more excuses to tease you, and that’s something we all know kyo loves. sometimes he’ll help you figure it out, but it’s often in a very sarcastic and condescending way. he tries to be nice sometimes, he really does. but seeing you struggle and whine and yell in frustration is one of his favorite pastimes. it’s so cute to him anyway, and he’ll help you eventually once you beg enough, but his sarcastic comments won’t stop ever.

he just gently helps you. if you’re playing something like mario party, he’ll help you and make it so you win. that way, you’ll feel more confident in your skills and he thinks that’s adorable! he loves seeing you confident! sure, sometimes he’ll tease you, but he’s overall very nice and sweet about it all.

when you’re in your element with games you’re good at tho…he thinks it’s so so cool and awesome and every other complimentary word out there. he loves it oh so much because it is so cool to see you in your element with things like that.

IKE EVELAND •

personal hc that he is an absolute little bitch about it. he loves you, but he is most definitely going to tease you about it. (sorry lmao i’m writing this during halloween and me and bestie are handing out candy to trick or treaters) boy absolutely loves you to death but teasing you is, much like kyo, one of his favorite pastimes. the writer isn’t absolutely perfect at other games, so he understands when you struggle a bit.

and we know boy LOVES miku, so he’s probably very experienced with rhythm games. he would love to have little competitions with you and see who’s the better gamer. doesn’t matter if you win or lose, he’ll give you a bunch of kisses anyway.

DOPPIO DROPSCYTHE •

oh the gamer. the silly. if you’ve seen how good he is at mariokart, you know where i’m going with this. he’ll make you play mariokart with him to train you. doppi won’t make you do ring-fit tho, he loves you too much to force you to work out with him. during big mariokart collabs, he’ll lag behind with you just to be side by side and coach you gently.

watching you play rhythm games is one of his favorite pastimes. he loves seeing you do something you’re good at and confident with, and he most definitely brags about you on stream and with his friends.

KOTOKA TORAHIME •

girlfaliure. she sucks at gaming. but she has fun when she plays with you, she really does. kotoka absolutely loves gaming with you when she’s not being a girlfaliure on her cooking streams. since you both suck, you’re equal in opportunity to win or lose spectacularly.

she brags about how good you are at your rhythm games on stream constantly, your girlfriend is just so proud to have someone who’s actually good at some games to balance out how bad she is at like all of them. sorry for the kotoka slander i love her

Light Show

Summary - Nighttime in the countryside with your favorite werewolf.

Warnings - Just some fluff

“Jack, if we stay up here any longer, I will fall asleep,”

“Trust me, Amor.  This is worth it,”

You eyed Jack, seeing him keep his eyes up on the starry night high over the two of you as you sighed and snuggled into him a big more.  The warm summer night was not unbearable, but it was making you sleepy as you both were laying out on your backs on the front lawn in front of your house.  All you could hear was the shilling sound of the wind coming along the wildflowers around you, the softest sound of the babbling brook behind your house, and the insects who came out at night clicking away.  

It was Jack’s idea to move to countryside a year ago, he needed to be away from the bustling city that seemed to give him far too much stress.  You were glad to move out too, as much as you loved the city and doing things on the weekend, you weren’t going to say no to him.  A change of pace was what you both needed, and once you got your hands on the little house near a small river and close by a national forest, it was perfect.

It’s been one year since you moved into at small house.

“Apparently it’s one of the better nights to see most of the constellations that are out,” Jack explained as he was pointing to each of the constellations that were brighter than the others, “Ursa Major…Cancer….Ah that is Lyra!”

Jack was just a curious soul, wanting to know more about the world around him. You loved that about him, the thirst to find out what else was out there in the world and yet have the youthful heart that never seemed to be tainted.  It’s what drew you to him, the softest smiles and the whole hearted laughs that were shared with you.  Maybe your heart was calloused in the past from ex boyfriends and hardships, but ever since Jack came into your life, your heart had the calloused shield shed and a new form was coming through.

It was both scary and yet exciting at the same time. 

“There, look over there,” He said as he pointed, your eyes following in the same direction as a small flicker of light shot through the sky, almost too quick but you caught it soon enough. You beamed, amazing at the sight.

“How did you catch that?” You asked Jack, looking up at him as he shrugged.

“Good werewolf eyes I guess,” he replied, you laughing as he went one, “Actually, on my last job the client is an astrologer.  She told me that tonight is a meteor shower, one of the biggest ones in the past decade.”

Another flicker came through the sky quickly, then another.  It was like a slight show began, and the thrilling sensation of you and Jack being the only ones seeing it.  If you both were back in the city, there would be no way in seeing not just the meteor shower that was occurring, but the constellations too.  You realized that the first time in your new home, you could see hundreds of more stars that were scattered along the blue night sky.  It was so memorizing for you, spending that first night outside on the same grassy ground that you were sprawled out now just watching the constellations come to life.

It was even better when Jack came out, blanket in hand, and you two watching in each other’s arms.

“Happy one year,” Jack hummed to you as he rubbed your arm with his fingers.  You grinned, seeing a few more light beams dash across the sky right in front of you.

“Happy one year, my wolf boy.”
