The Ultimate Vriska Poll - Calling for Nominations

My Tumblr Sexywoman poll is going well and I'm having a lot of fun, so I'm thinking of holding a poll to find Tumblr's most iconic Vriska-archetype character. If you don't know what a Vriska archetype is, Tumblr user @doubleca5t coined the term as follows:

Sexypedia didn't have a specific page for the Vriska archetype (the link shown in the screenshot leads to a page titled "Controversial"), but here's what it has to say on the topic:

Now that Tumblr's had time to get a smattering of blorbos that can be considered Vriskas, I want to pit these bad bitches against each other. I want to put them in a box and shake them until they fight to the death. I want the intense campaigning, voter fraud, and sabotage that happened around the original Vriska Serket in the Tumblr Sexywoman poll by Tumblr user @lutzlig. But I want it 32-fold.

The start date for this tournament will tentatively be February 19th. The structure will likely be like the Tumblr Sexywoman poll. Before that, I will be collecting a list of at least 16, preferably 32, Vriska-archetype characters. I will be considering nominations until February 17th, 6 PM PST.

The character you nominate must fulfill at least 4/5 of the requirements of a Vriska. UPDATE: I have decided to expand requirement 4 to just "queer" instead of strictly "attracted to women." Requirements 2, 3, and 5 are mandatory. This is so that male (and nb) characters like Bakugou from BNHA can still participate. As well as characters that don't really get shipped a lot. Like Lilith from The Owl House. (I'm sorry queen I've found someone more controversial) However, I will reject characters if I feel they fall more into other archetypes. Like Komaedas.

I can list at least three full animatics for this song for every major fandom I have ever been a part of, and still it's so hard to find them because there are so goddamn many

It's an absolute banger from the absolute King Alan Menken, originally from the pretty underrated Tangled the Series. I've seen animatics for this for like every fandom I can think of, and it deserves it because it slaps and has great vocal performances from Jeremy Jordan and Eden Espinosa.

i'm pretty sure this song is more well known than the show it came from is lol. i looked up "ready as i'll ever be animatic" on youtube just to confirm and counted 20+ of them, and i didn't even finish scrolling. it is a genuinely really good song from a /surprisingly/ good show that imo is super underrated. i definitely would recommend checking it out if you get the opportunity!

it's a fandom song that transcended its fandom and became a hit for twist villains.

The song really fosters creativity with how many animatics can create a darker AU where the usual protagonist (or a close associate) is made to be the antagonist because of injustice suffered and the other characters have to fight against them

I've seen *at least* one animatic of this song in almost every fandom I've looked into

It has a lot of Animaniacs because it is sung by an ensemble cast It is good for demonstrating a lot of different conflicting perspectives of characters for your big dramatic fight and its catchy and I love it

I mean everyone loves a scenario where one of the main cast becomes a villain for tragic reasons and the rest of the characters have to fight them while dealing with the betrayal and attempting to make them see reason

How in the actual hell does a song from a Tangled spinoff series go this spectacularly hard? More to the point, how does it have an animatic/AMV for practically EVERY FANDOM IN EXISTENCE?! Yeah, most people know it from that one Warrior Cats MAP, but there is SO much more. Not to mention the bucketloads of people who used this song for their own OCs, which is always a bonus.

What was your first exposure to Danganronpa?

i think it was late 2012 i first started seeing danganronpa fanart floating around on tumblr, but i didn't start reading DR1 until early 2013. i had a VERY rough experience with school during that time, so DR felt kinda cathartic to me in some weird sense, especially nowadays when i have a better understanding of the series (and yes i am wholly aware that the american school system is radically different from the japanese school system, but y'know what i mean)

was going through a a depressive stint during 2013, so i interacted with the wider danganronpa fandom during that time, for better or worse. definitely an interesting era of my life, and there's a few memories from that time that i still treasure. but maybe i'm getting a bit too sidetracked!

3. Did you have a character you hated at first, and then fell in love with? Who and why?

tbh i never really "hate" a character at first glance, but i wasn't the biggest fan of hajime when i first read DR2 all those years ago. i'm a softie who liked makoto in DR1 all the way back then, but hajime i initially thought was "boring" and a bit mean. did come around on him some time into reading further, and he's honestly a pretty damn great protag. without going too heavy into spoiler territory, guy goes through So Much and has to deal with the rest of DR2's wild cast, the comedy potential is nearly endless and it's great seeing his other dynamics with the rest of the cast.

17. List five headcanons for your favorite characters!

-nagisa doesn't really enjoy candy as much as the other warriors of hope, but he does like mints. of course, the other kids have made fun of him for this ("Wow, you like the taste of toothpaste?") -toko HATES romcoms. syo's the opposite, but not so much in a "genuinely likes romcoms" way and more the "has a lot of run riffing on them" way. -one of the very, VERY, and i mean COSMICALLY few things that izuru genuinely likes is cats. -i know the thing with jataro is that his face is actually immaculate under the mask but i feel like his teeth would be a lil crooked. pretty-faced kid with a bit of a creepy grin, c'mon it's great -great gozu knows how to tiger drop. he will not sugarcoat it.

20. What is your favorite aspect of Danganronpa?

for all the years i've been on and off with this franchise, my favorite aspect will forever be the characters themselves.

for all of kodaka's faults with his writing (and hoo BOY are there many of those!), it's no denying he has a love of creating incredibly faceted characters out of such basic frameworks, and seeing how these radically different characters interact with each other is fascinating to watch. doesn't always stick the landing of course (coughteruterucough), but when it hits, he REALLY hits.

i think the strongest example of kodaka's writing with character dynamics is toko and komaru in UDG. as much as UDG suffers from a lot of problems and wasted potential in equal measure, the duo of toko and komaru is one of the most well-written character dynamics in the series, and it's great seeing their relationship grow over the course of the game.

but yeah, it's these kinds of things kodaka does with character concepts and dynamics that inspires me with writing my own characters!

I will write for the Persona 5 confidants but I can’t guarantee to write them well

I will write for heavy topics such as anorexia and suicide, but only for the purposes of comfort. I am not in any way, shape or form romanticizing or fetishizing these topics. Content warnings will be tagged accordingly.

I can try to write for mental illnesses, but I’ll have to do research, and please correct me if I get a detail wrong, or if I need to put a trigger warning

Only platonic content for adult and child characters (ex. Sojiro Sakura, Zenkichi Hasegawa, the Warriors of Hope, etc.)

I can write for Morgana, but only in a platonic sense because... He's a cat

I can write for Sophia (Persona 5 Strikers) but most likely only in a platonic sense

I will not write for Haiji Towa

Please don't request characters from the Danganronpa anime (except Natsumi Kuzuryu) or any novels, fan games or whatever, as I'm not familiar with those. If that changes, I'll be sure to announce it

No palace rulers from Persona 5 or Persona 5 Royal, except maybe Maruki. Jail rulers from Strikers are iffy

I often struggle with lack of motivation, so I may take a bit longer to write certain requests, or may go a day or more without writing. Please be patient and don't attack me for being slow

If I deny a request, please do not send it in again. I always have a reason

If there's something about your request I don't understand, I will ask about it. I am not trying to annoy you, I just want to understand exactly what you're requesting so I can do my best job with writing it. Please be patient with me :)

And furthermore, I am currently not allowing any full cast requests for any of the Danganronpa games. They're too much for me, and I need a break from them. My max amount of characters per request is five.

BUT, I will allow requests for half a cast of characters (for example, the THH boys or the DV3 girls) Those are fine. That I can deal with. Just not everyone together.

And I will also allow requests for all the Phantom Thieves because those aren't as draining.

Danganronpa Non Despair AU Headcanons pt 3

Gundham and Kazuichi once got into a play-fight and the only way that Kazuichi won was because he yelled "hEEHEE" unexpectedly and it threw Gundham off guard

Kaede, Kokichi and Shuichi once sang the Chara/Sans/Frisk version of Stronger Than You in middle school and the only one willing to admit it is Kokichi, he uses it as blackmail

Miu, Teruteru, and Kazuichi all unironically communicate by doing the lip bite

Makoto has an acrobat hoop and nobody really knows why, he always keeps it as a secret but it's because he bought it on impulse

Tsumugi went to Barnes and Nobles in BNHA cosplays to go buy Wings of Fire and Warrior Cats books

Ibuki once yelled "WHERE'S MY PP AT" across the hallway and somehow never go in trouble for it

Kirumi sleeps with 13 plushies and they are all birds of prey very specifically, owls, I don't have any reasons for this headcanon it just makes sense

Before graduation, Himiko hid 9,000 plastic babies around the school in very odd places, and everyone was confused but it was funny

Sakura knows the entire script to Sharkboy and Lavagirl, but the world will never know

Korekiyo has a very specific interest in porcupine quills and knows too much about them and no one really knows why he just has more information than the average person about porcupine quills

Shuichi indulges in taxidermy, I don't know why, it just makes sense

Rantaro has a rock collection, it makes him happy

Kiibo once froze a whole ass wasp and after putting it to sleep he tied a string around it and took it out for a walk, for some reason????

About Me

Why am I doING THIS FUCK HOW DO YOU WRITE THESE

Uhhh sup, y’all can call my Casey or Rex. I’m 21 (birthday is May 29th), a woman, and I like to draw and play vidya gamez. I’m also autistic so if I ever seem awkward in an interaction, that’s probably why lmao. Most of my blog consists of the stuff you’d typically expect on a tumblr blog; funny posts and fandom stuff. It is also worth noting that as I am an adult, this blog will occasionally contain content with adult themes.

‘Vent tag’: A tag where I can reblog posts with ideas or feelings I strongly relate to; I tag all my negative reblog posts with this. It will likely contain themes of depression, anxiety, trauma, suicidal ideation, etc. If this sort of content is a trigger, I would recommend blacklisting this tag.

‘A hot original on tungle dot hellsite’: all of the posts that I’ve made! This tag is a WIP so bear with me lol.
