Randomly visited reddit and saw this:
My first thought: it's an incel pretending to be a woman, because what modern woman thinks she's spoiled milk a 30??? (Aside from also trashing her girl friends - girl, get better friends!) But their profile doesn't seem weird in any way, so, I guess there are some people out there who really somehow believe youth ends at 29. Even some who have aged past it.
It's not even true that all 30 year olds are less beautiful than they were at 20. People age in different ways at at different rates: yeah, your likelihood of getting wrinkles and gray hairs is only ever going to go up. But some people don't have their style figured out in their twenties - some people turn thirty and freaking bloom. And you can't call that a late bloomer. 40 isn't a late bloomer either! 20 is nice but it's not the heaven on earth it's cracked up to be, and 30 is just getting started.
Idk about the rest of you but you know those posts about how embarrassing it is to look back on 14? Yeah, related to those when I was 20. Now I've passed the big 3-0, and guess what - I think 20 year old me was so silly lol. So insecure, so afraid to make mistakes, so resistant to change. I enjoyed my twenties, but my early thirties have so far been way better: I'm more confident, less self-involved, and I find happiness so much more easily than I did back when I thought everything I did had to matter So Damn Much. And if you think that doesn't relate to being attractive: confidence is 90% of it. Just walk up and smile. A confident, happy person always attracts others even if they're just average-looking.
Also for people who like men, don't forget: men in their 30s usually aren't quite the energizer bunnies they were in their 20s when it comes to ~sexy times~ The 20-year-old stud who insisted he could go for a roll multiple times a day, every day, is probably much less gung ho at 30. And also more forward-thinking, and less amaaaaazed by omg boobies!!! When you're young, half the excitement is just how new everything is. It gets less intense, thank goodness. (But it's still hot!)
This post just totally rubbed me the wrong way. It read as a still young woman anxiously wringing her hands in apology for having the audacity to be single at... 30?? And apparently not trusting women to have good advice about dating at 30 (so no point in me responding to her, lol), but perfectly comfortable kissing up to incel mindsets such as "women past 25 should accept that they're sloppy seconds" etc. "Value as a partner" do you have intrinsic worth as a human being?? Yes??? Then your value does NOT degrade. Yeah, you might have gray hair, the horror, so unsexy (I've had very visible grays since I was 23 and been dyeing since 26 lmao). Doesn't mean you're less hot than some 20 year old who doesn't know what she's doing. Doesn't mean it'll be at all hard to find a partner who will love you warts and all. Do you have this same expectation of men? Are you gonna start dating a 30 year old dude and then complain that he gets tired more quickly than a 20 year old would?? Is he less sexy just because he doesn't party all night and drink twice his weight without effect? Overrated overrated overrated!
My parents divorced in their 60s. My mom's got a new boyfriend who takes her dancing under the full moon. They're living their best lives way past their so-called "prime" and no, that is not rare - it's just a choice. If you view yourself as having some expiration date, you're not gonna do anything to improve your happiness once you're past it. Don't let incels or misogyny or whatever convince you your perfectly wholesome milk has gone bad, because that is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
ETA: Well, while I was working this got 150 notes, and although that's barely a drop in the bucket, it's still a lot more than my rants usually get (about 2 lol). So I just want to clarify a couple things so I stop getting comments about them.
This post was from the askmen subreddit. I left that out, feeling "reddit" was context enough, but I guess the implications may not have been obvious, especially to tumblr users who don't also use reddit. Askmen isn't a horrible place (a number of the responders pointed out why they prefer older women to younger ones), but many of its members have a pretty incel-adjacent vibe. Plus there are a number of women (real or not) who post there, many of whom have a similar brown-nosey "unlike those radical feminists, I'm a woman who knows her place" attitude.
It's fine to suggest the OP may have internalized misogyny from being abused - but it's not a given, as nothing in the post is a definite indication of abuse by itself. Big kudos for the compassion - just keep in mind that my response was about general attitudes towards dating post-twenties and not about abuse victims.
To the person who thinks a relationship of six years makes a difference somehow?: You seem to have interpreted my post as an attack on people who feel insecure about returning to dating after a breakup. But I think it's clearly nothing to do with that. Of course it is natural to have anxieties about being single after so long, but nowhere in this post was that denied or mocked. Whether you've been together one year or six, this post would always be weird - those natural anxieties don't make misogynistic mindsets about decrepit 30-year-old women any less gross. If you had decided to write a reaction to the OP's post, perhaps you would have chosen to center it on the effects of coming off a long term relationship, and I'm sure it'd be insightful. However, I am not you, and I chose to react to the attitudes around aging in relationships reflected in the post.

Some angst since today was the last day of the '23 season
Bunny being sick and not telling anyone, and I mean no one not even Sebastian. Bunny acting like everything is okay, Carlos, Charles, Max and Lando who are the major major doms of the group notice something is off.
But they totally notice when Bunny dodges Oscar kiss and that raises the alarm bells for everyone. "No, no I'm okay just tired." You try to lie and make sure they can get to the last race on time.
Half-way through the race you feel lightheaded and tip over grabbing onto one of the workers in the garage and chaos ensues. They don't tell any of the drivers because the race would turn deadly if they found out.
Max wins and is looking for Bunny and notices that the McLaren garage are talking in a hurried tone to Lando who drops verything and rushes to your side in the hospital
no can u imagine the appendicitis episode of greys anatomy but it’s bunny and landoscar 😭 she’s feeling awful all day like wtf is wrong w me i feel like dying. sneaking away to throw up, worried she's pregnant or something bc why else is she throwing up first thing in the morning. but it hurts too much to be pregnancy unless something is wrong and that's a scary thought so she doesn't think ab it bc like.. yikes! she's dodging kisses bc she knows she tastes like vomit and doesn't want to worry them before their race. its the last race so she’s trying to push through it but it’s too much. passes out from the pain and is taken to the medical tent and then the hospital. by the time they’re out of the race and are looking for her, she’s in surgery having her appendix removed bc it ruptured or was ab to and they had to remove it before it did, plus had to do it before leaving whatever country they're in. they don’t get to see her bc despite ppl assuring them oscar and lando are both her boyfriends, legally they can’t be let in w her until she wakes up and is accepting visitors. she wakes up alone and has to press the button to call a nurse and as soon as someone comes she’s asking where her bfs are and they do a checkup ask her questions before they're let in. shes high on morphine and as soon as she sees the two of them she giggles and says "i have two boyfriends." and they feel their worry fade seeing she's okay and finally find out what happened bc no one would tell them bc of medical laws. max would have driven them to the hospital to see her tbh and lando and oscar are sitting in the back seat holding hands completely silent. the three of them would sit together in the waiting room until she woke up and then max would be alone for awhile until one of them came out to get him. he walks in and immediately notices she's high out of her mind on painkillers because her eyes light up and she says "now i have three boyfriends." and the three of them are crowded around her bed playing with her hair and holding her hands, rubbing their hands up and down her legs. they just need to be touching her to know she’s okay.
i like to think lance would come by to say he's glad she's okay after she posts on ig and is like "sorry i passed out on live tv my appendix ruptured 👍" and the other three men can't help but notice the lack of excitement when he comes bearing gifts. maybe charles texted he was on the way so the door starts opening and she gets excited and says "charlie's here!" and then it's lance 😭 her excitement disappears and shes like uhh thanks lance 👍bye i can only have 4 visitors and charles is on the way.

EDIT: I've edited some points because I've watched the trailer more and understand things a bit better! So reread if you want!
So loved the trailer but I don't really feel like doing an in-depth analysis like I did for the teaser, so I'll just point out some things that I thought were interesting!
1. Stede is adorable and looks great in his outfits, I love his "I didn't dump him," and "we're on a break." I also love how it seems like people around Stede are teasing him about his rocky relationship. And on that note I'm SO EXCITED to see how Stede tells the crew (or maybe just Olu?) about what happened on the beach!
2. Ed is equally adorable and I love the hint that he'll be a total bitch to Stede for a while lol
3. Izzy is missing half his left leg! Huh. I know people speculated it but it's cool to have confirmation! The missing toe must have gotten infected. I wonder if that will play a part in Izzy realizing he made a mistake in bringing Blackbeard back.
4. Stede saying he's been a failure his whole life really hurts my heart
5. There's a scene of Stede in his Chinese garb looking horrified at what the Revenge looks like. This must be after the storm damaged it. Poor guy
6. Izzy and Stede training together! Love to see it. I'm excited to maybe have a reason to like Izzy more and see Stede become better at... well a lot of things lol
7. STEDE EARRING STEDE EARRING I wonder who pierces his ear, I hope they show it haha
8. Ed standing on the rocks with what people have speculated to be Hornigold, or his ghost, I wonder what the context of that scene is
9. There's the bunny from the poster! (Note Ed says "new best friend," hinting Stede isn't his bestie anymore aw). I wonder if this is from Ed's island days or maybe when he's trying to figure himself out again (aka the trying something new scene?)
10. What kind of wound does stede have on his shoulder when he's tied to the mast? Doesn't seem to be a stab wound, it's more of a hole. Bullet perhaps? Hot cigar burnt into his skin?
11. Seems like the "torture" scene may be comical after all? It looks like Jim is smiling?
12. In the scene where they're on the "torture" boat, seems like before the "torture" happens, Stede is smiling! Good to see him happy for a moment, since pretty much every other scene he hasn't smiled lol
13. Who is this weird-nosed character? Is he the villain of the season? Seems like he's leading the Navy officers, so probably.
14. WEE JOHN LOOKS SO GOOD IN DRAG OMG WHAT A QUEEN
15. Jim and Olu are together again awwww
16. Why is Stede running along the shore? Is he running to someone? Ed perhaps?
17. Yeah that headbutt from Ed was definitely on purpose 😂 But we love to see bedside vigil worried Stede! Is this where they officially reunite?
18. LOOK AT SWEDE THERE HE ISSS BABYGIRLL (so is he one of Jackie's husband's now?? I'm excited to see the story of how he ended up working at Jackie's lol) Also his little "are you poor now?" is so funny
19. I love how Ed sputters after taking a puff of the joint or cigar or whatever it is, shows that he's not used to it lol
20. The Ed crying scene probably happens around the same time that the painted cake topper scene does, since we see the bride topper in the right corner. Also I really want Stede to find the cake toppers (or at least Ed's if Ed throws the groom overboard)
21. When Ed says "no more booze, no more drugs, and no more" the "Stede" at the end is clearly not from that same line. So I wonder what he actually says at the end?
22. What are Stede and crew escaping from during the crossbow scene? I've watched the trailer again and I think they're firing the crossbow for the zip line rope! And they're escaping from a ship to the Revenge. I hope Stede gets to shoot the crossbow!
23. The "you two know each other?" scene must come around the same time that Stede reunites with Ed after Ed is hurt, since Ed has the same split lip. Or maybe the headbutt scene comes after that? I'm not sure. I would bet that the headbutt scene is first.
24. Why are Jim and Olu and that other person warding off vampires lol
25. We finally see a glimpse of Lucius!! In the scene where he and Frenchie are under a log. He has a beard now! We definitely know it's him becouse of the wooden finger. Yay the boy is back! Can't wait to see how he survived and the Lucius x Black Pete reunion!!
Anyways that's all, I'm even more excited for the new season now and I hope we get a clip or two or more photos! But we only have 3 weeks left guys hang in there!!!

This was a good month, writing wise. The Shibuya swap has spiraled entirely out of control—quick, everyone act shocked—so now I've got another novel-length fic in the works. I intend to spend March chipping away at this while also tackling the April anniversary ficlets; let's see how that goes.

Digimon Tamers - Volume 4
The beginning of this volume flat out spoils things by putting characters that haven't been introduced yet on the character page. (MarineAngemon, the Juri clone, the D-Reaper queen...) Maybe that's a common practice with shounen manga...but it shouldn't be. Like, what's the point?
Ch. 22
Lopmon and Terriermon interacting will never get old. Love how they lift their ears with curiosity when they first see each other.
I think I prefer experiencing the ~sad~ part of Tamers better in manga form. I remember it being quite drawn out in the anime and I rather just blitz through it at this point. I think the whole Leomon death storyline just annoys me because they barely developed his character and then the writing expects me to be devastated. Juri was more developed, sure, but we barely got any insight into her relationship with Leomon so her deep, dark depression doesn't feel super warranted either.
Ch. 23
I think this chapter was pretty well done. They're giving an epic battle it's time instead of zooming past it.
It bugs me that there isn't a specific name for digimon/human digivolutions. In this translation they called it a "true mega form." On the wiki it's called both an ultimate and a matrix digivolution. IDK why it doesn't count as a jogress. I guess there's like...two different things: the way you digivolve (matrix) and the digivolution level (ultimate)? If it's confusing for me, I can only imagine it'd be confusing for a kid.

Okay, now they're calling it a "biomerge digivolution." I guess the localizers also thought "this needs a cool name!"
Casual 90s/early 2000s sexism sprinkled throughout this translation. Takato says he "screams like a little girl" in a previous chapter and in this one he says "easy to forget Renamon and Rika are girls when they're always kicking butt!" Eye roll...
SaintGalgomon looked super badass but for some reason when Sakuyamon appeared they chose to dedicate two closeup panels to her chest and high heels? Sus...
Ch. 26
Juri's face didn't look as sinister here as it did in the anime (when it's revealed she's possessed). I guess that's probably a good thing. More subtle.
I don't remember the sovereign digimon giving Culumon a "you're a real boy now" speech in the anime. That was sweet.
They cut the part where Beelzebumon gets zapped by a bunch a digimon. In this he just collapses after the battle with Dukemon, which I think I prefer. (But why'd he say he'd be "bunny chow?" He wasn't even fighting Terriermon...)
Ch. 27
The grotesque, over-the-top facial expressions the artist keeps drawing for Hirokazu piss me off. They're just so ugly.
Ugh...they really had to ruin a serious moment (Guilmon getting the ark to stop) with a poop joke. This manhua does NOT treat its audience with respect.
Hmm they completely cut out Juri's family. So much for developing her character I guess.
They kind of forgot to imply that the ark is sentient. I mean they showed it stopping on its own, but in the anime they really hammered it home by having Guilmon have a conversation with it and showing it's HAL-like eye. That was one of my fave parts so I'm sad lol
Ch. 28
Okay, this is starting to feel totally different from the anime, they skipped like 5 episodes worth of content. Also, IDK if the scanlation I'm reading is missing some pages because the ending with Dukemon being beat up was completely nonsensical (it cut from Beelzebumon being hit to a panel with Dukemon outta nowhere?) I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that there are missing pages...
The scene where Beelzebumon uses Leomon's attack to save Juri played out differently here. She doesn't seem particularly perturbed by it and Beelzebumon can't save her because he gets attacked, not because Juri recoils for too long.
Ch. 29/30
Lol they completely cut out Justimon. Makes Ryo's role even more pointless! Ryo doesn't even reappear at all...
This manhua series was crap to begin with but they really screwed the pooch with this ending. SOOO rushed. Grani appeared outta nowhere with zero introduction. Like they just went immediately to Grani's sacrifice. I still don't know if I'm missing pages or if the writing is just that garbage. Oh well! I tried.

Bumi II after the show ends ideas?
Multiple! I'll try not to go into my Bumi/OC ship or Bumizumi for this one:
He is in charge of all the peacekeeping missions, like he delegates the tasks and looks after all that situation, as the only person in the show with experience at handling such large operations.
He teaches the airbending kiddos! A couple of months after canon when he's achieved mastery, he takes on the duty to teach all the new airbender kids below the age 10.
Rohan, Ikki and Bumi have a special bond that isn't replicated by anyone else. He also sneaks Ikki meat when she's 16.
Not purely post canon, but he has an anonymous column in some semi-shady magazine which Korra brings over one day to make fun of. It was very hurtful to hear people call "him" bitchless, even if they're right.
He never gets his tattoos, which is a matter of tension between him and Tenzin for an year or so before Tenzin eventually realises that it is Bumi's decision to make, and he has no say in the matter.
He does not support Zhu-Li's presidency and is a fierce critique of her policies, especially with Varrick being her husband. He just doesn't like them.
Adding onto it, as much as he feels sorry for Asami sometimes, even post canon he tries to avoid anything she makes because of the weapon manufacturing. He knows conflict is a reality, but to see corporate interests mixed with military leaves a sour taste in his mouth.
People often mistake that Bum-Ju is Bumi's especially post canon, so when he turns out to be a bunny it's usually an awkward situation, but Bumi finds it funny.
He holds the record for the longest unassisted flight, at a total of 23 minutes. It is not beaten for a very long time.

》 YOU'RE QUEER? WHAT'S THE DEAL THERE?
Sure am! I'm a gender non-conforming trans man. I go by he/him pronouns exclusively and I mostly use stereotypically masculine terms (man, boy, dude, guy, fella, etc) to refer to myself. That said, I've got no intentions of trying to mirror cis men and the latter can and does vary whenever I want it to. I'm a man in the same way Bugs Bunny is a man; Gender is a joke to me, it's malleable and I will use it however I see fit at a moment's notice.
I use the labels pansexual and queer pretty interchangeably. Gender doesn't really play a part in who I'm attracted to, it's just kind of a neat bonus more than anything. That said? Overall I'm largely attracted to other queer people!
I'm non-monogamous. I use the term ambiamorous to refer to myself because it fits well enough. I can comfortably exist in both monogamous and polyamorous relationships but between the two? Up to now I've found the latter is my preference.
Also, I know I don't owe anyone an explanation about my identity. I'm talking about this because I'd like to (queer expression is fun to talk about yippeeee) and not because I feel obligated to. People aren't owed your life story, especially people on the internet ✌️
》 DO YOU HAVE A BYF / DNI?
Yes! You can find it here. I know some people consider these to be pretty superfluous because anyone who most BYF / DNI lists apply to probably won't be the kind of person to be courteous enough to listen to them.
That said? I'm aware of that and I don't expect this to stop anyone who doesn't want to be stopped. The reason I have it here is more for the benefit of those who I will inevitably end up sharing spaces with. It's more for their reference so they can make an informed decision on whether they want to follow my blog or not and what's best for their own comfort, based in part on where I stand on certain things and where I'll put my foot down.
Think of it less as a foolproof and more as a filter. I can and will still block liberally for my own comfort, whether that's because something on that list seems to apply or just because I don't like someone. The block button exists to be used, I'll curate my own internet experience in whatever way suits me personally and I recommend you do the same 🤷
》 WHAT ABOUT A TAGLIST?

I do have content warning tags! I try to be conscientious and tag anything that I know is a common trigger for people (blood, gore, bones, bright colours, insects, etc) as and where I can.
I format all of my content warning tags as "cw //" and then whatever the content of the post is that needs tagged. So for example, if you don't want to see insects? You can blacklist it on my blog using cw // insects and that should stop you from seeing any creepy crawlies. This same format applies to all of my content warning tags.
If there's anything more specific you need tagged? Don't be afraid to let me know. I'm happy to accommodate for you wherever you need; If it's something that triggers you? Then it warrants being taken seriously. No matter how silly or overly specific you may think it'll sound, I'll respect it.
