heyheyhey idk if u know how cool and important it is to have a badass assassin story with something other than cis gays and have it be Not a Big Deal but,,, it’s literally one of the first legit published books I’ve ever found like it?? And in a genre that I love??? And written well?? And genuinely funny as fuck?? Idk I’ve never seen an enby that gets to exist without it being A Tragic Plot Point or something To Overcome so thank u??? Like so much???? I can’t tell u how much???? I definitely didn’t cry at all about it nope not even once

:DDDDDD omg, my heart started pumping faster when I saw this ask. I am always so giddy when people talk to me about my books, especially the specifics about characters and tone and things they liked!

Yeah, I wanted to include every goddamn color in the pride flag!!

Pansexual/ bisexual assassins, nonbinary demons, a transgender assassin, an unrealistic number of gay and lesbian demon summoners! That's my fantasy world. It's not talked about, because it's simply normal.

Irvine in particular I adore because I am nonbinary myself, but also because they are just so powerful, and they don't even know just how much yet!

I always disliked how many nonbinary characters in fantasy and sci fi are just token "they/them" body guards, robotic or asexual leaning non-humans, or quiet, unassuming love interests who only exist to show a character is pansexual or something.

Irvine was my love letter to my own identity because I thought hey what if there was a nonbinary character who just fucks shit up, every time they appear? What if there was an enby who just kicks ass and is sexily never showing their face, and wears a badass hood all the time?

And then Irvine was born. My little storm demon :)

who i intend to put through the wringer, lemme tell you, because i like to put all my favorite characters through it.

So glad you find it unique too! I honestly was feeling so badly about it, after months of querying and beta swapping, and getting feedback from dozens of people who only found things to criticize as being too strange or too different or stylistically confusing.

I went through a year of being told it wasn't good, and-and I'm a little emotional and overcome with appreciation and gratitude to all the people who not only bought or downloaded the book while it was free, but who also actually read the whole thing, and found it GOOD.

Like people...think i...write well??? oh gosh. oh god.

The asks I get keep me going through this mundane, dull little world. They give me something to look forward to, in between the doldrums of normalcy...

in between the angst and the action and the blood-filled fist fighting and crazy sniper/melee battles, there is a lot of dark comedy!

I love dark comedy. I love satire.

As much as I love being edgy, I think a story without any humor at all is unbearable.

I want you to hurt with my characters...but you should also laugh with them! Laugh at them! Be amused by their stupidity...or by their cleverness.

Be charmed by their vulnerability, but also their insane, abnormal, bizarre points of view!

AAAAH, I'm so glad you found it funny AND heart-breaking!

That is exactly what I want every story of mine to be.

honestly ive just read and seen a lot of compelling pieces of info over time, there's a lot tho but i don't necessarily have it all on hand or memorized lol. in terms of flagging, she heavily flagged bisexual (colors, outfits, photos, paired with specific wording choices) around the lover era (and theres speculation the lover era was gonna be her planned coming out but that it was messed up by her masters being stolen), and she's more recently flagged lesbian in her looks and concert colors/outfits/backgrounds. and i have read about her relationships with certain women like diana, karlie, etc. she utilizes a lot of lesbian symbols and references in her music as well, if u want more info i could try to direct you to better sources of info in dms or something. theyre just speculation of course, but theyre quite interesting when you put stuff together.

i think the most insane thing is when jack antonoff responds to some interviewer about taylor and he seems shocked by the idea about talking to her about men and says no (very quickly lmao) and that he "likes women in particular gay women" and the interviewer gets confused by this, rightfully, and asks "is she gay?" and thats the clip where jack almost outs taylor istg...cause why would he connect gay women w taylor in his mind lmao no one was discussing gay women jack...

yes my bio! i think the lesbian colors are so pretty obviously so I was finally like oh I should put it in my bio!

anyway YES the lore is so cool!! I think it would be cooler if they'd do something more with ganon and not just have him be one-sided evil everytime but that is a discussion for another day!

and yeah the triforce is split! I don't know as much about the lore from the earlier games but I believe you used to actually be tasked with getting all 3 triforce pieces in most of the games, but then a lot of the more recent ones it's just become a link and zelda (courage and wisdom) have to fight ganon (power) thing. so yeah a lot of the earlier lore is the 3 triforce pieces and the 3 goddesses who created those triforce pieces, and those triforce pieces I think were also physical objects, and then the few more recent games it's more about another goddess, hylia, and her mortal descendant line, who all have the triforce of wisdom, and every generation's zelda has to work with link (triforce of courage) to defeat ganon (triforce of power) and it's no longer a physical object it's just magic they have.

and yes zelda and the light and wisdom it's SO WILL!! personality wise I don't think every zelda is equally will but that part sticks.

GUESS WHO BEAT PEE3 TODAY (fes, the journey at least)

(lengthy) final thoughts:

ryoji is kind of. um. "that was my name for a while. i didnt mind it." hes kind of trans. is the thing. also bro 100% drew the shortest stick in this game lmao

obviously ryo/mina isnt quite the same as some of the other insane peesona gay people (2,5. 4 is gay but not rlly insane) bc like. in that form at least we only know him for like...two months?or so? but. u know what. they r t4t and both (kind of) dead. good for them.?

jumpscared by "the arcana is the means by which all is revealed." ive been seeing that shit in like. youtube comments since the day i was born. insane

nyx was like. pathetically easy. to the point where i felt kinda bad about it lol. at least its funny. this is what happens when u have level 99 protag + black viper lucifer (+ messiah for salvation for ailment healing. i could just use me patra gems but its more stylish this way). nobody ever got below half health and most phases (minus last bc of the halved non-almighty damage + gown) were a 1/2/3 hit kill. guys who overlevel because they just love the velvet room so so much (and im prolly not gonna do ng+, especially with portable port on its way (femc!). so trying to experience most that i can)

i did cheese the reaper a while back. used thunder reign strat. was actually harder bc new moon rebalance nerfed the shock rate so its not 100% lol. but took advantage of its ai to get it stuck in a break skill loop (akihiko dekunda sweep) the money was nice, and i spent soooo much time in monad levelling personas. wont be able to do liz fight bc not doing ng+. (slightly related: ive played pee5 so many times and ive never actually tried the twins/lvnza/jose fights. vanilla 1 time, royal 1 time, royal again for a friends playthrough but its not ng+, ng+ for 100% royal but only up to exams...royal for another friend's playthru. lol)

yuka/mitsu is real. to me. theyre even the colors of the lesbian flag

i maxed most social links besides magician (bc hes annoying. surt wouldve been nice tho), mitsuru (got up to like 8 then ran out of time), fuuka (trapped at rank 1. dont like her enough, not enough time. sorry. i played with english voices u know how it is), yuko (accidentally reversed her), justice (i know. who would have thought. started her wayyy too late.), keisuke (hes soooo cute like. i wanna look like that tbh. but fortune isnt useful enough and i ran out of time)

speaking of social links i literally hate how they work in this game so so so so much. i dont want to date all these girls! let me hang out with other girls please... this is the biggest example of romance making all these games so much worse. like. what the hell. (aigis is like. the only good female social link (that i finished) (maybe bc she isnt very much a girl))

another mechanic i hate: NOT BEING ABLE TO PICK INHERITED SKILLS. is every ps2 era megaten game like this? i love love love 'sona/demon fusion but it is so much harder to make stupid crazy builds when u have to reroll over and over again. literally just a timewaster. what could have been...i cant believe my lucifer is still weak to ice. WHO USES PEESONAS WITH WEAKNESSES. IN THIS DAY AND AGE????

the extremely strange continuity with 1&2 is fucked up to like. nickelodean sitcom cinematic universe levels. u know.

im still fixated on 5.i make that very obvious. and i do like 5's overall story better (royal being a very big portion of that). but GOD i love love love the theming of this game.

those strega guys r definitely fucking. i literally do not care about them but thats kind of just a fact.

the concept of artificial personas (that kill you) (that u have to take meds for which eventually kill you) REALLYYYY fucks me up what a BANGER CONCEPT. JESUS! JESUS. gg kirijo group.

i dont think i have a favorite. tbh. like i like mitsuru because i like women and shes hot but character wise shes not actually super my type. i like ken because hes the most fucked up ten year old in the world (justice bias). aigis is crazycrazy theres stuff to be said abt her (characters who give metatron bias). yukari is a mean girl and i like that about her (lovers bias). ryoji doesnt have that much screentime for obv reasons but thematically hes cool (guys who beg u to kill them bias). i like the protag a lot (protag bias). yeah

OBVIOUSLY i knew we were gonna die. and when. and where. and how. but :( head in aigis's lap, brushing away her robo-tears... didnt cry but wow this game.

kimi no kioku is the best 'sona song. period. nyx (avatar)&nyx (nyx) songs go hard too. but man!!!! kimi no kioku!! LOVE how its kind of a motif in so many other parts of the soundtrack, especially near the end...a unifying melody, an overarching theme.

forever from now ill prolly watch the movies just so i can make an amv. this game needs an amv. and unlike pee5 the animovies should cover most of what id want to say in one!

The Unlabeled Flag and DNF

Disclaimer: I'm not unlabeled, and I do not mean to disrespect anyone. This might be a little unhinged.

As far as I am aware, this is the popular/common flag used for the unlabeled identity.

I sort of fell down a rabbit hole with it. Without trying to drag in any CC's that aren't necessary, I was watching a recent Tubbo stream, where he opens with his opinion on having the Unlabeled term pushed onto him. It's not super important to where I'm going with this, but it made me think:

Who made the unlabeled flag, and are they unlabeled?

With other pride flags, there have been issues with what the flag represents and the intentions behind creating the flag. An example that comes to mind is the various iterations of the lesbian flag.

I'll try my best to link everything and provide screenshots.

With a google search, I found:

I don't have Twitter, so I used the website to find the handle. Also, I have no clue how to use Twitter, so bare with me. No account came up. So I instead put the handle in google, and I found an account that I am very heavily assuming is the creator of the unlabeled flag above.

All of this information is public. I am not doxxing anyone.

To further support this, I checked the LGBTQIA+ Wiki:

"It is unclear who created the four stripe unlabeled pride flag, but its first use was by Twitter user lwtroses.[2] It also may have been created by Twitter users LOVERSHSLOT and fearlesslyhaz.[3] The colors have particular meanings: green represents freedom, white represents understanding, blue represents acceptance, and orange represents flexibility."

So this is the same person as @lwtroses (lwtsroses?) and @dwtroses. @LOVERSHSLOT has moved accounts a million times, but they seem to be a friend of dwtroses.

Anyways,

Q: Is the creator of the unlabeled flag unlabeled?

A: Yes!

But I decided I had to know their intentions, as well.

They're a fan of Dream and the Dream Team. Now, I will give absolutely no opinion on Dream, nor will I claim this is even a bad thing, let alone a cancelable thing. Next, I saw they had a carrd linked.

Now, I feel like I have to clarify that this person is very young, and by no means should anyone send hate to them. Even if you disagree with them.

Points that stood out to me were:

I picked up the mentions of being against TommyInnit, c!Tommy stans, and technotwt/sleepytwt. Again, I don't have Twitter and thus have no opinion on these communties.

They also have a private account linked.

The Actual Point

This is where I will get into theorizing territory. Would it be so presumptuous as to assume that the creation of the flag might have something to do with Dream and his friends, given the creator is a Dream stan?

Ignoring how absolutely unhinged I sound right now, let's look at the timing. The unlabeled flag is very new. The oldest use I could find was 2020-ish. Dream also tweeted recently, clarifying his identity as Unlabeled (he hasn't directly said those words, but that is how his fans took it, and I will do the same for the sake of my argument). He has also hinted to being unlabeled in the past, around 2020.

Next, let's look at the color palette of the flag. It's a pale green, white, pale blue, and a pale orange. What are the color palettes of Dream? Green and white. What about the whole Dream Team? George's is blue, and Sapnap's is orange, as far as I know. Green, white, blue, and orange.

Let's look at the DNF flag:

You'll notice the flag is green, white, blue, and red, in that order. You can look at the unlabeled flag at the top of this post for reference, but if you remove the the top darker green and then desaturate the image, they are near identical to each other.

In the original tweet from Dream, he points out that he's mentioning this because of his fans shipping him and George:

What I am proposing is that the creation of the unlabeled flag stemmed from DNF. More specifically, someone's urge to see it come to fruition.

Concluding thoughts and further disclaimers:

The unlabeled flag can be separated from its origin. This is not a post to persuade people to stop using it. This is also not an invitation to argue about the validity of having a flag in the first place. Those who want to use the flag can use it, and those who do not, don't have to.

Do not harass anyone in this post. If you don't agree with their politics, their fandoms, or their cc's, keep it to yourself.

omg i love the history of the lesbian flag, it’s so interesting. are there other variations of the flag? like, there’s the lipstick flag (🤢), but are there others? i saw somewhere a butch flag but idk if that’s official or remember what it looks like.

Well something I think it's important to acknowledge is that there's no "official" flag for anything lol. There's simply flags that gain more popularity than others! And new flags pop up everyday for new different micro identities and most of them originate on Tumblr haha. But here's the butch flag as I know it:

It takes the orange colors from Emily Gwen's lesbian flag (which are meant to represent the butch and masc identities) and expands them.

Also if you're interested in the lesbian flag history, this is the labrys flag which was very popular in the 90s:

(some talk about Nazis and terfs follow below)

It was created by a man named Sean Campbell in '99. The labrys itself, which is the hatchet-like weapon in the middle, was used by lesbians in the 70s as a symbol of empowerment. The triangle was used by Nazis to identify 'asocial' people, pretty much anyone who didn't fall in line with their ideals (ie lesbians).

It is not really used anymore. A lot of people still use the hatchet as a symbol, but recently its been co-opted by terfs as a symbol of. Whatever the fuck they're talking about lol. I once saw a terf say the labrys was a perfect symbol for the dual oppression they face for being cis and women lmao. Also, people have obvious problems with non-jewish lesbians trying to reclaim a symbol from Nazi Germany y'know?

Another flag I see used a whole lots is the sapphic flag:

This one isn't really an identity (although some people do identify as just sapphic). It's meant to represent anyone who falls under the bisexual/pansexual/lesbian etc umbrella. People who identify with the acronym wlw or nblw or the like haha

i gotta tell you... u can draw happy lgbt characters and people without draping pride flags from their shoulders or giving them pride-themed eyeshadow looks. like we don't just walk around like that. like i get that they're usually at pride in this stuff which is not what i'm judging, it's more like when you draw the entire cast of something and then put the lesbian character in an orange and pink shirt like We know. We know they're gay. We're not all obligated to wear our specific pride colors at all time. The Gay Police aren't going to get us for wearing other colors and they're not going to get you for not drawing us that way.
