Do you have a delivery for me?
HEYY REBBY, MAY I GET DOTTORE ONE, IDK, I JUST LOVE HIM NOW
S o
I will tell my personality based on my friends's opinions of me since I'm bad at explaining my personality.
Most of them also agree that I'm one of the kind, patience and caring friend. I'm the therapist friend. Most of my not-so-close friends said that I'm their comfort people too <3.(❁´▽`❁) they also told me I'm a crybaby. But they won't bully me because of it!
If you don't mind, I can tell you the characters they think that describe me and why.(Its a trend we did actually)
Friend 1 : Honda tohru from fruit basket. ["You're really kind, nice and helpful person like her. Also, your really is fun to hang out with"]
Friend 2 : Hanako from asobi asobase. ["Always make none sense stuff"] In fact that this character is my highest kinned character. Like how she act and think are really the same as me.
Friend 3 : Conan from detective Conan. ["You're smart, just like him"]
Friend 4 : Eren from Attack on titan(before becoming a cold person). ["Cuz your really smart and is a supportive person"]
Friend 5 : Mitsukuni Haninozuka from the Ouran High School Host Club. ["Because you are sweet, strong, my wifey(nickname she gave me<3), loves helping people and you always stuck with someone you comfort with like (Bff's name)"]
Aslo, may I have female reader instead? (=゚ω゚)ノ
That's all now! Thanks for reading! (。 ー`ωー´)
My Dearest Hikomi,
How have you been fairing without me? I've had difficulty concentrating because my thoughts have been filled with you. I'll admit that much. But that is beside the point. I come baring good news, my love.
After months of working, I finally got clearance to come home. Isn't that wonderful? I bet as you're reading this a smile is playing at your lips. How I crave those lips of yours. .I crave YOU. I am beside myself with vigor as I count the days I can hold you in my arms.
I am coming home, Hikomi. Are you as delighted as I am? I hope you don't cry when you see me, but if you do, I'll finally be there to wipe your tears away.
Yours Truly,
Dottore

Do you mind if I ask your top 10 favorite characters (can be male or female) from all of the media that you loved (can be anime, books, movies or tv series)? Thanks....
I don't mind! I am very happy to share my favorite characters !! Although it is difficult to honestly choose one character for the TOP 10, but here is my list.
1)Amane Yugi Aka Hanako Kun(Jibaku shounen hanako kun) and Gintoki Sakata (Gintama)
Tumblr media
There's no other way. They're both the first on my favorites list.
My boy Amane is a 13-year-old ghost that I love as such a complex, flawed character, and I can understand his pain so well. he can be cute.I love how his character has developed so far. From the boy who cared about nothing and decided to "go nowhere", he began to care, love life and want to stop to be with the friends he loves. This may sound a little weird, but if anyone has watched / read, they know what I mean.
Gintoki Sakata is the best shounen MC ever made. Nobody can convince me otherwise. I cannot describe him with a few words. @yonaks descended so well that I can only join her words.
2)Zeno/Hak/Jeaha(Akatsuki No Yona) Yoh Asakura(Shaman King)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zeno is my beloved dragon. I love the whole group and have also mentioned Jeaha as my favorite dragon, but Zeno is the number one and the best and beloved dragon.
Zeno - He is the most tragic of all, despite everything, thanks to his wife, he learned to enjoy small things and passes all his joy and positive to the group, but also sometimes returns to his important old self. His power is also brutal. How can I not love him?
Hak - This is the best MC shoujo ever made. He may seem perfect and so he is a very OP, but in fact he is a person with many defects with good fighting skills, intelligence and a big, kind heart.
Jeaha - I like his personality and his interactions with his family and especially with Haku, he is like a big brother to everyone, especially Hak.
Yoh Asakura(Shaman King) - Yoh is my hero and he finally got a great reboot! He totally deserved it. He loves his laid-back attitude and being serious / angry when needed. He has opened so many hearts.
4)Yona(Akatsuki No Yona)/Tsukuyo(Gintama)/Lucy Heartfilia(Fairy Tail)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yona - She is absolutely my favorite princess. She has a wonderful character development (like Hak), and also has a lot of kindness and can open people's hearts and change them for the better.
Tsukuyo - She is for me the best, most developed woman in shounen. She has learned to depend on others, she is not alone, she has so much goodness and kindness, and her relationship with gintoki is the best for me. She is incredibly strong.
Lucy Heartfilia - Lucy from a cowardly girl became a completely brave girl. I love her role and what I love is that she is the most vivid character (I mean, rent trouble). Also that it has (and still shows) amazing character development. She was able to oppose her abuser - her father, she had gone through many hard trials and proved that she was worthy and strong, and her strength was finally appreciated by one of her guild's strongest mages and she was finally appreciated - I admire her
5) (Our) Ciel Phantomhive(Kuroshitsuji)
Tumblr media
It (Our) is important whoever has read the manga knows what I mean.
Ciel crosses so much evil that I am not surprised by his dark personality, he still helps people if he wants to. His personality is dark, but very interesting to me. I don't know how I should describe him ... He's just like a son to me.
6)Al Bundy (Married With Children)
Tumblr media
Ed O'Neill he created the best male character of the brilliant Al Bundy (For me), I know he's a sexist and a shawinist (I mean Al Bundy, not Ed) for women, and I am a woman, but I really love and appreciate this character, I come back to this series many times and laughs and the most he makes me laugh the loudest , but I think everyone gave 100% of themselves there and they are amazing, but Al Bundy is definitely my favorite.
7) The Suite Life of Zack and Cody/The Suite Life on Deck
Tumblr media
What can I say? I come back to this show often! I loved Zack the most, but now I love both of them.Cole played in Rivdale fanastically and this character is also my favorite
I cannot add any more images:(
8)Merlin(The Adventures of Merlin)
9) Shizukui Sui(Gakko no Kaidan)
I love this character because he is amazing. It is difficult for me to describe what I like about him. Probably that the hatred he carried began to gradually change thanks to the needle hero and that he wanted to reconcile with the person who hurt him badly because this person was for him like a parent / guardian for a lonely child. This J-Drama is my favorite and I often come back to this drama.
I must add that Kamiki Ryunosuke playing Sui is amazing and I love him as an actor and he is one of my favorite actors, he has played many roles that I love and it would really take me eternity to describe them all, but this is the character of Sui in which I saw him and my 1st drama so I have a special fondness for it.
10) Hero(J Drama) - Kuryu Kohei
Well, I love his personality and dedication to his work. He's a genius dedective, also fun. It is impossible to get bored with him
Unfortunately, this is how my list looks like this until the fifth place, and that's not what I said about all of them ... Ahh ...
Hope you like my answer and thanks for the asking!!! It's was a lot fun!!

sing to me (part three)
Tumblr media
<<part one>> <<part two>>
paring: female!V x Johnny Silverhand
summary: a street kid V falls in love with SAMURAI music and idolises Johnny Silverhand. years later she finally understands the saying “never meet your idols”
warnings: angst and fluff, Johnny being a dick as always, arguments, V plays the guitar, MORE JOHNNY AND V ACTION IN THIS ONE!!!, references to death, more/different warnings in the future parts
note: I’m describing my V, but you can imagine her however you want tho
•SAMURAI fan V (street kid)•
She was tugging on her hair, groaning in pain as she stumbled out of the elevator.
“Ughh..! Fuck!”
“The hell’s that?” Johnny questioned, looking both shocked and a bit panicked “No, no, dammit!”
V sat down on some box and focused on breathing, her chest and head feeling on fire. She saw him pace around and asked.
“Jesus.. the fuck do you want from me?”
Johnny’s head snapped to her and he stormed over, making her flinch in fear. But instead of attacking her, he grabbed a stool and sat down, saying.
“It’s all going too slow. Gonna decomish before we learn how to rip the chip out”
V glared at him “Wanted me dead. You don’t care if I die”
Johnny calmed down a bit, took off his glasses and looked at her. His nearly black eyes, soft and truthful.
“Made it pretty clear since, that I changed my mind. Want you to live now”
She was taken a bit back by the sincerity that she picked up from his tone.
“What do you want, Johnny?” she asked more calmly, calling him by his name for the first time.
He lit up a cigarette and said “I got a get-outta-jail-free card. I’d be a fucking fool not to take advantage. See me and Arasaka, we got a half-century-old score needs settling, and I plan to do it” he turned towards her adding “That’s. What I need you for, kid”
“So you just... want to use me? Great. Fucking fantastic, Silverhand. Listen I hate the corpos and Arasaka too. But I am still sane enough to know that it’s a lost fight”
He rolled his eyes “I didn’t ask for your opinion, kid. I just need you to take me from point A to point B”
“Fuck you. I’m not a Delamain!”
“Listen I know things. Where we can save your life, who can help us do that. You’ll get rid of the chip, I’ll smash Saka. It’s a win-win kid. Soul killer is what we need and Mikoshi’s how we grab it”
V sighed heavily and tugged on her hair in frustration “What’s this Mikoshi?”
“Okay, basics. If you’re jacked in, cruising the Net. Arasaka can use Soulkiller, an AI, to trap, fry and pack away your psyche, your mind and your soul. Following so far?”
“Yeah... that’s how you died. I saw it”
Johnny didn’t look pleased, as he said “Okay... seems we got a few more things to broach that I thought, but that will come later”
He continued on explaining the importance of Mikoshi and how it works. V nodded along, he had some points. Mikoshi definitely was a place that they needed to go to.
“—so you’re going to live and I’ll destroy Arasaka. As I said. Win-win, kid”
“No” she said, surprising him “We need to explore some options, find allies, find resources and then. And only, then we will attack Arasaka and get to Mikoshi. Not sooner or later”
With that she got up and stumbled away, subconsciously feeling Johnny follow her.
“Kid, we need to work fast! You don’t have time! You’re already falling apart!”
“I don’t have any other choice but to live through it. We need more time, we can’t go into all of this with a hot head”
Johnny sighed “You don’t get it—“
V spun around and pointed at him “No, you’re the one who doesn’t get it. You went into Arasaka, full of rage and devoid of reason. And see where it got you?”
He glared at her and clenched his fists. She nearly flinched in fear of him attacking her once again, but she stood her ground.
After glaring at each other for some time, V let out a cough, groaning in pain. Johnny sighed and grabbed her, leading her to a bench outside.
“Rest up, kid. You won’t do much, being dead”
V sat down, feeling a bit surprised to see Johnny sit down beside her. She coughed into her hand and saw a bit of blood there, V stared at her shaking hand. The proof was there.
She was really going to die.
“You’re not. I’m not letting you, kid. We’ll work something out” Johnny said from beside her, his arms crossed as he stared at the people passing by “Call, that braindance chick. You promised that you would”
V nodded and shook her head, trying to get rid of the blue glitches she saw. She then looked back at Johnny and noticed that he left. Bitting her lip she did as he said, called Judy.
After the call, she went back to her apartment for the night. Taking her guitar she played “Never fade away” singing softly.
Her take on the song was more heavy and calm. Each word consumed by the emotional state she was in.
“We’ll never fade away...” she whispered, ending the song, somewhat abruptly. Not because she forgot the lyrics.
But because her thoughts lingered on Johnny and what happened today.
He was still a dick and managed to annoy her to no end. But then again, he really seemed like he didn’t mean her any harm. Also as much as she didn’t want to admit it, he was being useful and had a lot of info on Arasaka.
V let out a deep sigh and started playing again, thinking.
Maybe I can try and trust him.
Few days later V was walking down the dirty corridor. The place was abandoned, but still she had her guard up. As she neared the door, Johnny appeared.
“Knock four times kid, or the dog will bite”
She sighed and did as he said.
After that things escalated quickly. One minute V was talking to Hanako and another she was falling through the floor.
V let out a groan, her body hurting as black spots danced in front of her vision.
“Get your ass up, samurai! We need to delta!”
She groaned and looked at Johnny, who was looking between her and the corridor where the soldiers were coming.
“—Takemura...” she whispered, worried for the man.
Johnny quickly grabbed her by the shoulders “He’s dead, but you’re not. So get up and get out of here”
V nodded and with his help got on her feet, reloading his gun she got to work.
Halfway through the complex she met and saved Takemura, thankfully Johnny didn’t comment on it. The rockerboy went into full soldier mode as he navigated her through the corridors and warning about possible dangers.
As she and Takemura exited the building, she fell on her knees. The relic and injuries catching up with her.
“V?!” yelled Johnny, kneeling next to her.
“We need to split up! I’ll contact you once it’s safe!” said Takemura, soon disappearing in the crowd.
It pissed Johnny off as he yelled on top of his lungs “FUCKING DOG! HELP HER!”
“Johnny... we need... need to go. I-I’ll be fine...” V said, getting on her feet and quickly stealing a car that was parked not far.
The rockerboy stayed visible all the time, his metal hand heavy on her thigh. He was talking to her the whole time, trying to distract her.
V soon hid inside of a old and nasty motel. There she sat on the bed with a gun pointed at the door as Johnny watched what was going on outside the window.
Not long after their arrival a proxy working for Hanako. V talked to her, agreeing to met her at Embers.
She waited for the proxy to drive away, to leave the room. Her whole world still swaying and glitching.
Johnny stayed visible, as he leaned against a pillar. His face showing that he disapproved.
“What Johnny...? Got some words about the... porcelain cunt?”
The rockerboy only shook his head just as V started coughing up blood.
“Fuck..! Not now!” she yelled, stumbling away trying to get into her stolen car.
“V wait! Shit! Get ready!” Johnny yelled after her.
She almost made it to the door when she completely fell on the ground. Johnny rolled her on her back and watched as she had something that looked like a seizure.
“—Johnny! I’m dying—ughhhh!!!“ she screamed, tears running down her cheeks.
Johnny grabbed her hands, looking at her with worry “No, no, no kid! You ain’t dying yet! I got you”
That’s when V’s whole world went black.
Next time she woke up on the ground, pills in her hand, her body weak and in pain.
“J-Johnny?” she asked, weakly trying to find him.
“That smell, is the sea breeze” he said looking down at her with a soft smile “Get up, Pacific’s beautiful this time of day”
V got up and leaned next to him, watching the sea.
“I almost flatlined yesterday...”
“Almost” Johnny quickly said, harshly as if to force the word on her.
V ignored it for now as she stared at the sea “It’s beautiful... I could wake up to such view everyday”
“Me too” said Johnny as he glanced at her from behind his glasses, unsure himself which view he was talking about.
V closed her eyes as the wind ruffled her already fucked up hairstyle. The air was clearer than in the city. Very... light and a bit colder too.
As she opened her green eyes she looked around asking “Pacifica? What’s this building?”
“Old hotel - the Pistis Sophia. We’re her sole guests right now. Wanted to show you something, come on” Johnny said, while slowly walking away.
V followed him, still feeling a bit disoriented.
“You took over” she stated, leaning against the wall while walking.
“What was I supposed to do? Leave you there? It’s not like I could carry you somewhere...” he said, his fists clenched as he looked annoyed at something.
Feeling a bit bad for calling him out, she simply nodded, saying “Thank you”
He looked at her and he visibly relaxed saying “What are imaginary friends for?”
V moved to follow him again, only to fall on the ground.
“Careful!” Johnny said, glitching to her side.
“I think that I’m going to die soon...” she said.
“Bullshit. We still have time” he denied, holding her elbow.
She smiled at him sadly and said “Okay... show me why we’re here”
Johnny led her to a room, watching as she weakly crawled over the broken window.
“There’s a hidey-hole where I’m standing. Open it. Empty it” he instructed as V got to her feet.
She did as he asked and took the dog tags that were there, sitting on the ground she turned to look at Johnny in question.
“Yours?” she asked him.
“They were. Belong to you now”
V was confused as she stared at her metal in her hand “Fifty years back... Mexican conflict?”
Johnny nodded slightly “When I was a young and stupid kid like you. I enlisted with a corp army. Was in Mexico when I realised that no matter the conflict, corps always win. Ordinary people always lose”
She nodded, seeing the truth in his words. All the corpo fucks got rich because of the wars, that they started. That got good people killed.
“Why are you giving them to me?”
Johnny shifted in his seat “Imagine we’re deployed together, fighting in a war side by side. Would you take a bullet for me?”
V’s eyes got wide, but with little hesitation she whispered “Yes. I would”
He smiled at her, shoulders relaxing as he said “Tags belonged to a man who sacrificed his life for mine in Mexico. Been thinking about our... predicament. Wanna be clear. I will do you no wrong. When the time comes, it’ll be my life for yours. I’ll agree to get wiped. Tags are proof of my promise”
She stared at him, the man that she was afraid of for a long time. Idolised once. And saw nothing but honesty.
V bit her lip and whispered “I would do the same for you Johnny. And... if it will be possible... I would like to try and save you too”
“That’s real cute kid, but impossible. Still, I appreciate the sentiment” he said with a smile “Now I got a request. Whatever happens to me. I want Smasher gone and for Rogue to be there when it happens”
“Okay. Done, but you sure Rogue will bother with it?” V asked getting up and walking over to the exit, along with Johnny.
“She will. I’ll ask her personally, besides you’ll need back up”
“Personally? What do you mean by that?” she asked.
Johnny crossed his arms “You’ll drop one of Misty’s pills and I’ll go talk to Rogue. Convince her to help us out. I promise”
V bit her lip, finally nodding “Alright. I trust you”
“Thanks, kid. Now let’s go home and in the evening we’ll go to the Afterlife” he said, disappearing.
She sighed heavily and got through the window, heading back to her apartment. The dog tags clutched in her hand.

oh, of course! i'll resend the ask right away!
this is even longer than i intended, so i'm sorry that this is so long! i tend to get into detail so people get a better grasp of things, so this is on me. i'm truly sorry, koko. i guess i didn't do as well in terms of having a short description of my appearance and personality, sadly. i'll make it smaller so it's not as long.
my name is paula, but i go by lala, paulie, polly, and pollyanna too. i'm a female, she/her. <3
i have dark brown, shoulder-length curly hair, so curly it looks artificial. i have natural drills in my hair, so i guess that's why it looks artificial. i also have pink highlights in my hair! my eyes are brown, almost black. my skintone is really pale, but not worryingly so. i also have glasses, but i am not the best at maintaining their cleanliness with the mess in the kitchen all the time, hehe :)
my personality? all my friends describe me as the mom friend, always trying to dissolve problems among the group. i let people vent, no matter how painful or bad or long it may take, in order to help, and then give advice on what to do. i also love doing things for my friends, such as drawing them and making custom memes about them. i also try to be an optimist most of the time! sadly, it isn't always natural optimism, but it's getting there. <3 i always try to see everything in everyone else's point of view, to try and understand them to my best ability in order to help them. i tend to be very forgiving, as we all make mistakes, sometimes more damaging than others. nothing can change that, but we can learn from it. <3
other things to add, i like to sprinkle my speech with analogies and terms about baking and piano; mainly baking though. such as sweet! lovely, wonderful, fantastic and adjectives like the mentioned above work wonderfully as well! if you can't tell, my favourite hobbies are baking and piano! piano soothes me when i'm not that calm, while baking lifts my spirits up. <3 my favourite colour is pink, too! i adore bows, and love wearing them! i have one in my hair right now, actually, hehe :) my favourite sweets are cupcakes, meringues and sandwich cookies! i prefer peanut butter sandwich cookies, but anything else is good too. <3 i also really love strawberries! i love nicknames! i give people i love sweet nicknames that reflect their personality and/or name, such as yours, koko. <3
seeing people happy is my main source of joy! so i hope you are doing fantastic today, sweet koko~! <3
yours truly, -pollyanon
Prompt 5: “No amount of guilt will ease your concious”
Press “read more” to read your drabble <3
just like saying might be “manga spoilers” idk it really depends on what you consider manga spoilers but this is in the anime so maybe not idk just saying
“Paula, tell me something.” Hanako sits on the ledge of the bathroom, his legs dangling over the side.
Despite Hanako being a complete ghost so if he fell he wouldn’t get hurt at all and how he’d never let himself fall, you couldn’t help the little heart attack the motion gave you. “Tell you what, my love?”
“Be honest with me. Be brutally honest.” It was a strange request, for Hanako to ask for something like that so randomly.
You frowned. “How so, Hanako?”
“Paula, I feel . . . weird. After seeing Tsukasa again it all feels wrong. And it hurts everything hurts. Don’t make me feel better—just be honest with me. Please,” Hanako begged.
You didn’t know why Hanako was acting the way he was. But Tsukasa was always a sore subject for him. You didn’t want to be completely honest with him—as it might hurt—but he was requesting it. The best you could do was fulfill that request . . . right?
“Are you still guilty over Tsukasa’s death?” You asked.
“Why wouldn’t I be, Paula? I killed him.”
You sighed. “Hanako, it doesn’t matter how much you beat yourself over this because of your guilt. Honestly, no amount of guilt will ease your concious. Ever. That’s just the plain truth. But . . . Hanako, darling, so what?”
You grabbed Hanako’s hand and looped his fingers through yours. “Your guilty. Okay. But that’s what makes you human.”
Hanako blinked and laughed. “But I’m dead, Paula.”
“You’re still more human than others I’ve met.”
Hanako reached for your hair with his free hand, grabbing a pink drill. “Thank you.”
“Anything, my love.”

hello! i’m the anon who sent you a message about hanako-kun so long ago! sorry i haven’t messaged earlier, i’ve been so caught up in school. anyways, i am VERY open to any suggestions you have for me! the anime i’ve watched are pretty mainstream so i hope that doesn’t put you off (naruto, fmab, tpn, kny, mob psycho, watching haikyuu right now, more i forget) but i will literally try anything. i think some must haves for me are good writing, good character development, and good OSTs are a bonus!
anon i knew you and i would have so much in common in terms of what we love in anime, i’m such a sucker for good character development and writing! and i’m the same way with good OSTs actually! oh and don’t worry about watching mainstream? i honestly respect mainstream anime a whole lot, since it’s where most of us start out, you know? my first anime was soul eater, and that’s insanely mainstream, so no worries there!
but as for some suggestions...
death parade is my personal favorite anime of all time, and it essentially revolves around this bar where, when two people die at the same time, they come there to play a game and have their souls be judged to either be sent to heaven (reincarnation) or hell (the void)! it has insanely interesting commentary on morality and human nature in general, but also how our lives intertwine with those of other because, more often than not, a lot of the people who died at the same time were connected in some way. or their deaths somehow paralleled each others! either way, it’s super interesting and made me cry a whole lot so fair warning there! i will say though, because this is an anime that does cover such dark topics, a whole lot of the deaths aren’t pretty and can be very painful to watch so please be wary going into it!
comic girls is another one of my personal favorites and i know, by the title, you’d probably laugh at it like me and my sister did when we found it on the first day that it started airing, but it’s so much more than the synopsis or the title might imply. it’s a slice of life about a girl named kaourko moeta, or kaos who is a struggling manga artist that has very low self-esteem and is about to give up on manga all together, thanks to the constant lack-luster reviews she gets on any of her works! however, her editor suggests that instead of giving up, she joins a female manga artist dorm! and it’s there she becomes friends with three (eventually four) other girls who each draw different types of manga! now what seriously surprised me about comic girls was truly how much character development each of the main four girls went through. comic girls didn’t shy away from showing how painful it can be to have your work shot down time and time again, to struggle to pull yourself back together enough to continue working despite that constant agony of failure, and i connected really deeply to kaos’ struggles. but there’s so much more they cover than just that in the twelve episodes and honestly, it deserves so much more credit. i wish it had been more popular back when it first aired, but i’m thankful that i, at least, had the pleasure of watching it in real time. (by the way: please look up the translations for the opening and ending after you finish the series because they will make you cry, especially the ending, they’re such good lyrics and i connected to even them so deeply so that’s another thing!)
if you haven’t watched carole and tuesday yet, that’s another one i’d highly recommend! carole and tuesday seriously surprised me in the character development department, specifically with one character whose growth brought so many tears to my eyes and i still can’t believe they actually managed to make me feel so empathetic towards her when i absolutely hated her in the beginning! but essentially, carole and tuesday is about these two girls who meet one day when tuesday’s decided to run away from home on a bridge where carole is singing along to the tune she’s playing on her piano. from there they basically become best friends and decide that they’re gonna be the next big thing in music, essentially, in a world where most music is written by artificial intelligence based on the knowledge of what we, as humans, gravitate towards in terms of music! the songs are all in english and they’re beyond stunning, i cried almost every episode whenever one of them would come on because there’s so much soul and emotion put into every single one of carole and tuesday’s songs, and it really does differentiate them from everyone else! it’s absolutely amazing and i can’t praise it enough!
dusk maiden of amnesia is probably another insanely underrated series that i still cry whenever i think about because there’s truly no other word to describe it than beautiful. it’s about this boy named teiichi who, one day, meets a ghost named yuuko! only she has absolutely no memories of her life before she became a ghost, hence why it’s called dusk maiden of amnesia, and she asks him to help her find out what her life used to be like! thus he decides to become the founder of the paranormal investigations club, where a few other girls join him in his quest to find out what exactly happened at their school, all those years ago when yuuko died! what’s interesting about dusk maiden is that it’s considered a horror series, though i don’t really think it’s honestly that scary in my personal opinion, especially if you’re already used to the promised neverland. it’s more like death parade in the sense that it’s dark and more of an exploration of yuuko’s character and the darkness within her, which i really enjoy! there is some romance though so fair warning, but it’s actually a romance i can stand because it’s a rather sad romance instead of over-the-top romantic comedy style stuff so yeah!
a few more i’m just gonna mention are yuru camp, new game!, and possibly kuzu no honkai (or scum’s wish, is the english translation) because this post is getting way too long but those are also very good! please be warned that scum’s wish is very sexual but it’s actually one of the most depressing anime i’ve ever seen in my entire life and i more like it despite the sexual content! the other two are just slice of life series so no worries there with anything i need to warn you of, i think!
god i am so sorry i didn’t mean for this to be this long but i really wanted to give you more a more specific synopsis of each and what aspects they really shine through in since, like i said with comic girls, these series are kind of? very misleading? and i think that might be the fault of slice of life and horror as genres not really accounting for the different facets of said genres so i hope my descriptions are able to help!

Since you said you thought of having Rin and Emile be close in the Yakuza AU (And also because I’m already super invested in them being friends) can you write an interaction with them?
Thank you so much for this and of course!!!
[Me, blabbering? Yes kjgdfbg I don’t know if people realized it but… in The Risks Part 3, it was their first meeting if you guys remember and kgjbdfg their friendship also started there while Kaoru had to save Hanako!! So I was planning for them to be close friends from that part, but I debated with myself for a while gjkdbfg]
Emile belongs to @polar-star-dorks and Rin belongs to @polar-stars!!
They were finally official allies after some weeks… Well, at least the gang X-terminate with Nene, Isshiki, Eizan and Kuga. The gang which was considered “extreme” compared to some others were allies with LA5T 5HOT5 from the start, and it must be because how their leaders were considered a gang- well more of a duo before.
At first, Emile may have considered the other gang to be quite terrifying because of the first people he met… but after knowing them more, his opinion changed drastically. He wasn’t close to all of them, but there were 3 people who he considered as a close friend, and he always wondered how they were because it was hard to contact them sometimes.
Dai may have changed a lot from the last time he saw him, but he was the same person who’d play drums if he played the guitar. Christelle also changed, but it was over time- slowly, she became more masculine and she started to go by they/them pronouns in public so she can follow her father’s steps… But there was someone who he may have not met before, but he did feel close to her after a number of meetings.
They first met when there was a shooting in “Sakura Tokyo”, and his gang leader had to leave to try and save a woman he cared about greatly, he also had to check up on Gaia who was there during the whole incident. Even if he may have been freezing in place the first time he saw her out of surprise, he knew that there was something about her that she was hiding.
Her name? It was Rin Hisakawa.
Even if they weren’t all that familiar with each other yet, Emile was able to read her. He might have been new to this whole Yakuza business, but he was still able to maximize his skills- whether it be inside the Yakuza life or not. This was one of the moments where he was thankful that he had that kind of ability.
Emile was currently playing the guitar, but he saw a girl using shades go out of the hidden passageway. Her shades were hiding her eyes, but she gave a loud sigh. “I was able to finish.” These were the words that she said, and she began walking off to try and grab something to drink.
During their first meeting, they exchanged their real names with one another because this was back before codenames became an official thing inside both gangs. Emile stopped strumming his guitar for a moment to raise his hand. “Rin!” He called out to her, hoping that she heard him. He would only call her by this name if they were by themselves- of if they were around their fellow gang members.
The female paused in tracks, holding a cup and a pitcher of water. Her expression was darkening as she continued pouring water. “… Who?” As soon as she finished getting her water, she began looking around the room. She finally spotted him. “Oh. It’s just you.” She says this calmly and she starts to walk to him.
If it wasn’t someone in their respective gangs, they might have feel threatened by her presence, but Emile never saw her as “just dangerous”- she was more than that! The mere fact he knew this was taken to his advantage because he got to befriend her. “Yeah, it’s me, mi amiga!” He smiles brightly and the girl sits on a chair near him, even removing her shades. Something she didn’t usually do, but it was to hide her “dorky look” as Dai described it.
Rin still showed a not-so-excited look but it was mostly to keep her image, even if she was in front of a friend. She needed to practice this because she knew that she has to be able to control herself and her expressions inside this life. “I’m glad it’s you.” She may have sounded blunt, but the sigh she gave made him feel that it was more natural. It was out of relief. “If it were someone like those new people, I would have to stick with my first impression.”
Emile laughed a bit before placing his guitar down. “I don’t think they’d judge you for how you look, mi amiga. In fact, I think you’re doing extremely well by looking tough even if the situation seems dangerous!” He says this happily, thinking that she was pretty amazing to keep her act. “You’re really good at this!”
“Trust me, the shades help. Also being around Dai who threatens a lot may have helped too.” Rin began sipping some water again, her eyes closing. She felt really relaxed around her close friend, especially that he was one of the people who she trusted completely. “Even if he’s my gang leader, he can be pretty scary sometimes.”
“I have to agree with that.” He nodded. “I never knew that he’d… be like this. I knew he was someone who’s more extreme… but being like this? It was quite surprising…” He commented. “But besides that point, I think that you also surprised me! You did well on your first introduction with our new allies!”
A little smile started to appear on Rin’s face, thinking that it was fine to not hide anything from him… at least for now, while the new people weren’t around. “Thanks.” She was sincere with her words. “You never fail to make me feel better about being in this life, huh?”
“Of course I’ll never fail!” He grinned. “You really deserve some praise, you might be somewhat new and we joined a gang almost at the same time so… we’re in this together!”
After that sentence, the two only began talking to each other normally, but once the 4 go up to the living room again, they promised to act like they were in the Yakuza again.

All Roads Lead to Hibiki + Ren
by Bunnypwn Gold
One thing I have learned about myself over the past couple years is that I enjoy romance stories. One thing that you notice, reading a few, are the different strategies that authors take to convince the audience of or use the romances in question. Some stories begin with the premise of a couple’s romantic interest and then base everything on the drama, with no explanation for the romantic interest. Some stories focus on one of the most time honored pillars of modern romantic myth, that of the lead proving their worth to their beloved and winning their heart. Some stories go with the opposite attracts theory and treat two people who should hate each other as puzzle pieces that match perfectly. I’ve found the most compelling romances try to tell a more balanced story, starting with some common ground and then demonstrating why the potential couple is compatible due to complimentary, not oppositional, qualities. One of the most compelling couples I have found is in the pages of Anne Happy, and it is the pairing of Hibiki and Ren, who actually share in qualities of all four romances I described.
For those who don’t know, Anne Happy: Unhappy Go Lucky is a manga series about high school girls attending Tennomifune Academy. This school is well-renowned in its ability to draw out the fullest potential of all their students. There are three classes for the academic track, three for the athletics track, and one for our main characters, the happiness class. All the students in the happiness class have some form of bad luck, to cartoonish extents, and the goal of the happiness class program is to reverse this misfortune and allow these students to accomplish amazing things in life. To give you an idea of what these students are like, the titular character, who goes by Hanako, seems to warp reality around her to cause accidents for herself, while her friend Botan is so sickly that shaking her hand will fracture her bones.
The people I am here to talk about, Hibiki and Ren, have their own challenges. Hibiki is incredibly proud and ambitious, not settling for anything less than #1; she once tried to lose a game so she could be first worst, because second worst is mediocre. She is always running off half-cocked and full-tilt to prove she’s the best at everything she does. If she makes a mistake, she insists it was on purpose. If she is caught doing something embarrassing, you should feel grateful she took an interest. Ren is quite the opposite. She is incredibly lazy and sleepy and does the bare minimum so she can get the day over with. If she isn’t asleep, she’s figured out the least amount of work needed to call it quits. If she sees Hibiki doing something stupid, she tells her off and then gets dragged along because she isn’t strong enough to fight it. Hibiki is all energy and pretense, and Ren is all sloth and practicality. They have the opposites attract bit down tight.
Tumblr media
To be more specific about their relationship, they are best friends, and Hibiki is in love with Ren but hasn’t told her, or anyone, yet. While Hibiki is always trying to show everyone else that she’s the best, at least half her motivation is showing Ren she’s the best. She is constantly trying to improve on her faults to show Ren how far she’s come. She goes out of her way to try to do Ren favors, even though she is frequently incapable of this. Ren will try to talk Hibiki down from doing ridiculous things, but Hibiki usually insists she must, because it means something to her to have accomplished it for Ren. Thus, Hibiki has fully dedicated herself to proving her worth to her beloved.
The two have known each other since they were in pre-school, when Ren’s family moved in next to Hibiki’s. They became friends, and then attended elementary and middle school together. As a result, their romantic tension is prepackaged and used to create drama around them from the beginning. In their earliest major appearance, Hibiki becomes flustered and more excitable from Ren grabbing her hand to lead her along, which is an incredibly familiar situation for her by this point in her life, and is defeated by a challenge where Hibiki is asked to yell the name of her crush.
Tumblr media
The fourth layer is completed through a careful demonstration of the source of their quirks. Hibiki’s bad luck is that she has no sense of direction whatsoever. She can look right at someone she needs to talk to and run in the opposite direction. Clearly, she has a lot riding on being first. Her tendency to lie about her shortcomings is to cover up for the parts of herself she thinks are weird, the things she fears she’ll be rejected for. Hibiki is a very skilled artist, for instance, but she always destroys or hides her work because it looks so unusual and creepy. She has a hard time making friends, so she instead chooses people as her “rivals” and becomes invested in their lives that way. And, of course, she hides her feelings for Ren because they’re so “strange” and she’s afraid of homophobic backlash from the world at large. Ren, meanwhile, is a literal chick magnet. Female-bodied people and animals of all stripes go crazy for her and fawn over her constantly, whether she wants them to or not. She doesn’t seem to mind that girls are falling over her, but it’s a lot to deal with, having no peace when she’s in public. That’s why she sleeps all the time, because she can’t be mobbed in her own home; that, and I assume it’s tiring dealing with them. Her blunt, honest, straightforward nature is a result of her trying to carve the easiest path between wherever she is and some place she can be alone.
It’s easy, then, to write off Hibiki’s crush as a result of spending so much time around Ren and her condition, but that would be a mistake. Other girls simply give Ren gifts, treat her overly-nice, and attempt to wrap themselves over her. Hibiki actually takes an interest in Ren’s life and wants to spend time with her as a person. There’s good reason for her level of emotional attachment, too. From the time they met, Ren was an object of Hibiki’s admiration due to the ease with which Ren talked with the other girls in class, something Hibiki was too nervous to do. In kindergarten, Ren was the first person to tell Hibiki that her black magic torture doll art was good and that she should be proud of it. When Hibiki got her hair caught in a gate, Ren cut her own hair short so Hibiki wouldn’t have to be the “weird girl” with short hair. Though Hibiki was likely attracted to her because of her condition for at least a moment, Ren has always been that selfless, caring, affirming person for Hibiki, which inspired Hibiki to do the most important thing she could to make Ren’s life better: be a real friend to her, unlike the other girls whose words mean nothing.
It goes even further, too. Hibiki is too afraid of being rejected to confess her feelings to Ren, but Ren actually proves that she doesn’t have to be afraid. Due to Ren’s condition, large swarms of presumably straight-identifying girls, ladies, and women drool over Ren. Even from afar, these same people hold Ren up as an object of beauty and desire. No one seems to question why this is or what it means for them, as if a girl liking another girl isn’t a big deal; keep in mind that most people have no idea about Ren, they just react to her. And Ren herself, as stated before, doesn’t seem to have particular feelings about it being girls who constantly go after her. Hibiki really has nothing to fear in terms of coming out as being in real-love with Ren, because the world she lives in and Ren herself are totally ok with that. If Ren were to turn Hibiki down, she would know how to give a perfect, “Don’t blame yourself, it’ll be ok,” speech. If she returns Hibiki’s feelings, there’s always the possibility that she wouldn’t just say yes, but that she always assumed they were dating after being together for so long.
No matter how much Hibiki wants to tell Ren how she feels, she never knows how to get where she wants to go (literally and metaphorically). Ren always leads Hibiki, the only girl she wants to spend time with, the only girl who makes her try to do anything, to her destination. Truly, theirs is a fairytale romance, one that captures all the most common and compelling dimensions of romantic storytelling at once.

Snipe’s Character Studies part 1/? - Yukale
Name: Yukale Ravenwing
Race: Night Elf
Age: 748
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Lesbian
There have been some retcons to her story over the years(especially when we made Unariel a Void Elf), but the important parts remain, and this is how it stands. This got... long, but I’ve been playing her for 14 years and honestly I started summarizing more near the end lol
The younger daughter of a traveling merchant, Yukale never really had a set path. Unlike her older sister, she had no druidic talents or interest. Her attempt to become a Sentinel ended in disaster in an incident referred to as the ‘Oil Incident’.
She was content to follow in her father’s footsteps until the Legion returned and every able bodied person was called to war. At the Battle of Hyjal, she nearly deserted in fear, before she regained her courage and came to the rescue of a human who became a strong friend.
Tumblr media
In the years after the battle, she developed her combat skills, choosing the ‘path of no path’ as a rogue, and travelled to the Eastern Kingdoms with the singular goal of making enough human friends like her enough to give her a horse. The friends she made (and eventually lost to war and other tragedies) is far too long to list, but they made her a stronger person.
Tumblr media
(ROGUE SQUADRON - Thunder Down Under Raid Alliance)
She fought when the gates of AQ opened, and was present for the induction of her friend (And somewhat of a relation) Nyana, a fellow Kaldorei, as a Paladin just before the battle.
Tumblr media
(And we’d be here another 30 pages if I actually described all her Vanilla adventures, including but not limited to exploring the caverns of time, the catacombs in deadwind pass, her breakdown in Azshara at the Ravencrest Monument, That One Time She Had An Evil Twin)
Tumblr media
But it was especially Kiska that connected with her. A rogue, like Yukale, they met in Ironforge, and went on a mad adventure in the Undercity, searching for information on someone dear to Kiska. It was the start of a beautiful friendship, and eventually blossomed into more. Kiska chose to set aside her daggers an delve into druidism. The two spent months exploring the world, getting into all sorts of trouble together. Here’s one of the only screenshots I could find of her!
Tumblr media
Until Yukale’s estranged mother entered the picture and captured her in the Plaguelands in an attempt to sway her to her side. She’d left her family six hundred years ago while pregnant with a third child, eventually arriving in Quel’thelas and disguising herself as one of the High Elves. Originally a Highborne, Nithil’zir had chosen to turn against her class for the sake of love.
But she’d always practiced her magic in secret and eventually turned to demonic arts.
Yukale refused, and was locked up. Somehow, word had gotten out to Kiska(By, ironically, Yukale, who’d come back through the Caverns of Time to warn her), who arrived to rescue her lover.
The battle was fierce, but short. Kiska’s armor and bear form couldn’t withstand Nithil’zir’s attack. But with her final breath, she called down the power of the moon, the arcane energy boiling the left half of Nithil’zir’s body and critically injuring her.
Kiska died a moment later, a mysterious smile on her face as Yukale scrambled to her side.
She begged Nithil’zir’s guard to kill her, to send her with Kiska, but an arrow from the doorway ended his life before he could. Yukale’s aunt, and Nithil’zir’s half-sister Eilirria had tracked Kiska in the hopes of finding her niece.
They left Nithil’zir to die, taking Kiska’s body to Ashenvale to bury her next to the grave of her husband, who she’d lost a hundred years before.
Despondent, Yukale set up shop in Kiska’s house, retreating from the world until another friend was able to help her overcome her grief. But that too was doomed. Hanako was possessed when a joint Horde and Alliance attack on the demons at the Dark Portal was temporarily successful. Yukale didn’t find out what happened to her until a self-described Demon Hunter sent her the possessed demon in a Star Ruby, as some kind of twisted gift.
A short time after that, she encountered a Blood Elf. Though neither got the other’s name, they dueled to a standstill. It was the first of many such encounters, becoming a sort of friendly rivalry. Booty Bay and certain other locales were neutral ground, and there were many nights spent drinking and occasionally talking and certainly flirting.
Yukale acted first, kissing Unariel before she vanished in a flash of powder. That became another part of their rivalry and game, duels sometimes ending with a kiss or a suggestive comment, or both. This continued into the Outlands, and then when the Northrend Campaign started, the duels stopped. They worked together as often as not.
It was during that, that she finally attempted revenge against her mother a few weeks after Arthas was defeated.
Standing atop one of the towers in Dalaran, Yukale had waited for her mother to pass below, in Crystalsong Forest. She lept off, her engineering goggles marking her targets as she fell.
In the forest below, a rain of throwing knives and bombs sowed chaos. Yukale slowed her descent with her parachute cloak, and slammed into her mother. Backflipping off of her, she spun around, throwing additional knives at Nithil’zir’s guard contingent.
Only one survived, and Yukale found herself facing Unariel. This fight was different. This fight felt personal and for the first time since their very first meeting the two were actively trying to kill each other. They parried and dodged and weaved, until Unariel saw an opening and left a long gash in Yukale’s side. Hopped up on adrenaline and barely noticing it, Yukale slashed at an upward angle, taking Unariel’s left ear off.
It was about then that Nithil’zir recovered enough to throw spells at Yukale, not really seeming to care of Unariel got hit in the process. Yukale’s escape strategy was simple; her gyrocopter dropped a dozen smoke bombs and in the ensuing cover she escaped.
She returned to Ashenvale to recuperate, and then to Booty Bay. Practically moving into the tavern, Yukale was fully prepared to disappear from world events when Unariel walked into the tavern, sporting a mithril ear, and took a seat at her table. They didn’t talk at first, until Yukale just started. She told Unariel about Kiska and her mother.
Years later, she still can’t recall how they ended up in her room, nor how their clothing ended up on the floor. What she does recall is the morning after, while she was getting dressed.
That was the day Deathwing came. She and Unariel barely made it to Yukale’s gyrocopter before the wave hit. They crashed in the jungles of Stranglethorn, though were able to pick up the pieces and went their separate ways for the duration of the Deathwing drama. They crossed paths a few times on Pandaria, though never violently. Neither did they have time to discuss Booty Bay - or make a repeat of it, though one or the other of them often ended up pinned to a wall or tree by carefully aimed knifes. On Draenor, it was a similar story, though they occasionally worked together.
They met again in Booty Bay after returning to Azeroth, and Yukale took her rather vigorously. But of course, the very next day, the Legion came. Cue the in-joke about their love life being apocalyptic.
The next time Yukale saw Unariel was after Unariel had defected to the Alliance as a Blood Elf. It left them with a new and unusual dynamic. Formerly enemies, reluctant friends and awkward lovers, and now on the same side.
Of course, now that they’ve hooked up officially, Teldrassil burned and Lordaeron is a blighted wasteland.
Yukale isn’t taking the former very well. She hated that tree, but the experience of being on it as it burned and knowing so many couldn’t escape has made her very angry and depressed, dredging up old feelings of helplessness. One who faces tragedy and hardship with black humor, she’d struggling to find reasons to laugh again. But at least she took it better than her sister, Manadh.

Finally Beat Yandere Simulator Demo Game...but not I got theories because of it.
I can’t wait until the full game, well I can because it takes time to make such a wonderful game to it’s full potential, and even if I did get annoyed and mad trying to stop Osana from getting Senpai/Upperclassman Taro Yamada.
I finally managed to get some things right while playing.
like saving Osana’s cat, but not before befriending her first.
I made a mistake on sending her the letters first, without truly befriending her.
ever since finally downloading the demo of the game, I have been playing for....let’s see  I think from May 5th to May 11th of this year.
of course I took breaks and made sure to eat, sleep and well do some other stuff too.
and even if I said I wouldn’t, because of how things went....
I kind of went all Geno-Route in the Yandere Simulator Demo Game...
at least it has it’s own Reset The Day/Week button.
as soon as the full game comes out I want to try to befriend Amai.
I should of went to the Amai Challenge, but I thought there was gonna be more of the Demo and have like ya know....how it was with Osana but different.
I also hope that Taeko Yamada and Ayato (Taro and Ayano’s counterparts)
end up in the game.
it be nice if there was like Non-Binary versions of them as a third option.
like no matter what they are biologically,
I don’t know what the Non-Binary or Genderfluid counterpart of Ayano and Ayato would be like.
but even if it is just a fan talk about such a character,
like a “what-if a third was added...?”
Ayato is Yandere-Kun, Ayano is Yandere-Chan,
so it makes sense that their "little sibling" would be called Yandere-San.
but as for what their name would end with, while the first part of their name
starts with “Aya”......I don’t know.
I don’t know if it would be, tried to come up with something for such a hypothetical character.
well the idea of there being on in the Fanon of Yandere Simulator is still a nice thought.
also because of one of the mini-games,
(not the maid cafe mini-game/part-time job.)
I now wonder if perhaps, when we do end up befriending the rival girls,
what if we end up saving them, and in some plot twist,
they end up either becoming Ayano’s platonic friends
or romantic harem...?
I am suspicious of Taro Yamada, and since the other rivals will be his sister, a nurse and a teacher, if my theory is correct then we would also be saving
Hanako Yamada, Mida Rana and Muja Kina from the “Happy-Bad Ending”
which I guess since Hanako is his younger sister,
she might just have a platonic brother complex, and not the romantic or lust feeling.
well in the demo it did have Hanako’s Crush as Taro Yamada,
which I’m not sure if that will be in the full game or not.
but still, the mini-game got me to think, when I had played it again
the end credits that showed, after beating that succubus with what I had tried to get 100 LV but I don’t think it can go that high, the best it could do was 99.
but yeah I think there is something about that mini-game, but I could be wrong.
some fans who have already played the demo and weren’t knew to playing it like myself, who had just finally started to play it on May 2021.
would perhaps come to the same conclusion and had that theory way before me.....at least that is my theory that other fans have thought of it first.
I really hope the game will be finished, and maybe someday it will get it’s own game card for Nintendo switch.
I am glad that Five Nights At Freddy’s finally did,
it has all the series rolled up into one, and well I am best at playing the FNAF-1 one.....kinda bad at the other ones.
but the other FNAFs are still fun.
I sadly haven’t beaten Cuphead yet, and it was a downloaded game
with no game card....I hope that will change someday and it gets a REAL game card and not have some fake game case like with the Xbox case....but it be nice if it did end up in a real game disc in a real xbox one game case....
but yeah once again I really do hope that it will get a real game card, along with some other games that came to the Nintendo Switch.
is it weird while playing Yanvania: Senpai of The Night,
I couldn’t help but have the thoughts of crossover shipping
Ayano x Cuphead.....I am very weird.
I will try to play the demo again later, like maybe tomorrow.
I have been playing it all day and I am really REALLY glad that I not only beat it.
but also I was able to befriend one of the rivals.
I hope to do the same when the full game comes out.
I also hope that Ayato becomes real someday too,
and a Non-Binary version of Ayano makes the scene as well.
I am Gyno-Agender, which is like a Bigender identity
it is like your Binary but at the same time your Non-Binary,
and I still go by she/her but I think I would like to go with they/them too.
it took me some time, to figure that out.
well that and the fact that I’m a type of Aroaceflux
I do wonder if I might be a Demi-Aroaceflux....?
well maybe not a Demi type,
but I like Ficto-Aroaceflux to describe me as well.
Ayano x Female-Rivals = I don’t care, I bud it :D
(”bud” being short for “buddy” and it being  another word for “I ship it”
but in the platonic friendship way and not the romantic way.....
well unless it ends up being the Pan-Harem and there will other non-female rivals in the mix that will be after Taro/Senpai.)
Sisters Before Senpai! is what to describe the budding friendship and bond of Ayano and the Rivals....and well yeah, thanks for listening.
and Yandere-Dev if you read this, keep up the awesome job
but makes sure to take it easy and take breaks to relax
and to stay safe. :)

Q&A with the youtube aces for money
Woman: (holding a baby) Hey, Val, wanna snuggle baby Flynn? You’ll be a dad someday! You’ve gotta practice!
Val: Oh my god, no-
Woman: It’s okay. Just hold him. He’s been staring at you for a while, I think he likes you.
Val: I... don’t like him...
Lily: Sissy. C’mere, kid. (Lily picks up the baby) God, you’re heavy. Yeah, so this is Flynn. One of my cousins just had twins. The other one’s named Verona and she’s sleeping right now. Um, their mom’s white, their dad’s Vietnamese like me, and, uh, they’re, uh, cute.
Flynn: *sticks his hand out towards the Wacom*
Lily: You wanna see what it does? Okay, so you go down to Photoshop, open it up like so, and then you doodle!
Flynn: *babbles*
Lily: Yeah, it is cool!
Val: You’re a dork.
Lily: I’m gonna teach you tax evasion, kid. I’m gonna be your auntie.
Val: Oh god, you as an aunt. Fuckin’ terrifying.
Lily: Beats being a mom.
------
Brid: Question #2. I will drop $100 dollars in your paypal to say the n word.
Lily: Oh, no, oh hell naw.
Val: I’ll say the r word.
Lily: R word is worth at least 50 tbh, but you still shouldn’t say it!
Brid: You know I read somewhere that the word “stupid” was a slur?
Lily: ... *incredulously* what?
Brid: I personally don’t get it. Like, what is a more socially appropriate way to call a person a dumbass for, I don’t know, driving on the other side of the road? And people are saying it has... ableist connotations? Like, I get it that some people suffer developmental disorders that affect intelligence, but... that word is in no way linked to people with autism.
Lily: Plus, you’re basically implying that people with developmental disorders are actually less intelligent than the rest of the world! Like, when I call a guy stupid for setting his house on fire, am I calling him autistic with a bad connotation? No, I’m saying he set his house on fire, he lacks common sense.
Brid: Like what do I call Trump if I can’t call him stupid?
Val: Yeah, since you can’t call ‘im retarded since that’s just actually a word used to describe people with developmental disorders.
Lily: ...
Brid: ...
Val: ... Fifty bucks, please.
------
Lily: Question #4. Fifty bucks for Brid to kiss someone.
Brid: I’m... not doing that. Well... hold on. Lily?
(some time later)
Lily: I hate lipstick.
*Brid kisses her*
Brid: Sorry! They said they’d give our channel fifty bucks if I kissed someone and you’re at least somewhat close to me so-
Lily: No, no, it’s fine. First kiss was a girl. Sweet.
------
Brid: A video with Grey in it!
(some time later. Brooke and Grey are watching Val and Lily play Shido’s level in Persona 5.)
Grey: You know, I don’t like the whole “video game respawning” thing. You keep dying, you keep respawning- it’s annoying, really. Why not die peacefully and let it end?
Lily: Because you die with regrets. Like if you die in this game, this dude gets away with... being Donald Trump, I guess.
Brooke: Truuuuueee! Man, this guy is Trumpy as fuck.
Val: And crashing the country. Like god, you should see it. Hold on, I’ll show you. *teleports to the front of the palace, revealing a country mostly underwater*
Grey: Everyone’s dead in his fantasy?
Lily: Except a few elite, yeah.
Grey: ...
Grey: Interesting. And you say he’s like Donald Trump? You know, if he’s going to bring such a swift end to the country and collapse of society, why not celebrate his election?
(Brooke slaps Grey)
Lily: Valid answer, but I was going to say he would slowly let the country suffer and everyone would be-
Grey: Begging for death!
(Brooke tackles Grey)
-----
Val: See what that vampire guy you interviewed that one time does all day?
(some time later, Val and Adrian are walking outside somewhere. A squirrel is burying nuts nearby)
Adrian: Okay, watch this. (Adrian acts like he’s walking normally, then suddenly grabs the squirrel by the tail. It starts squeaking)
Val: You’re a master, dude.
Adrian: (dangling the squirrel by its tail) So, how do you wanna torture it?
Val: What?
Adrian: I’ve strangled them before. Want me to do it now? This thing squeals a lot when it’s scared.
Val: Dude, what the fuck? No, no strangling it.
Adrian: I’m gonna suck the blood from it.
Val: Woah. Woah woah woah woah.
Adrian: Let’s try smashing its head against a tree.
Val: Dude, you’re on camera, you’re not torturing a squirrel-
Adrian: Oh, man, I’ve got a great idea. You know the pool near Narin’s place? Let’s drown it in her pool. Holy shit, when she sees it, it’ll be fuckin’ hilarious!
Val: Uhh, I don’t think-
Adrian: Waiiiiit. Do you have string on you? Oh, man. Let’s crucify it and drown it upside down in Narin’s pool.
Val: ByE BITCHES
(text flashes onscreen: “Adrian chased after me and tried to get me to turn the camera back on, but by then the squirrel had literally died of fear. XD”)
----
Lily: Get Dad to watch the female rivals video?
(some time later)
Angel: So the one you showed me was a parody?
Lily: Basically.
Angel: And this is the original, designed to cater to a male audience?
Lily: Yup.
Angel: ... Let’s begin.... (osana) Ha, she’s funny. (amai) Lily, didn’t you read something about a girl baking her friends into cupcakes? Is this the same thing?
Lily: That was something different.
Angel: (kizana) Are those croissants on the side of her head? Oh, god the roses. I can’t watch. Terrible. (oka) Adorable. Perfect. Lily, you should wear spiderweb leggings!
Lily: I should!
Angel: (asu) I’m getting a real lesbian sort of vibe from her. I didn’t get a lesbian vibe from the other one... well, the rose guy seemed kind of gay to me. (muja) Is she wearing a bathrobe? My, she’s clumsy. Do nurses even wear those hats- wait, those leggings- (mida) Ah, yes, the kinky one. Did I tell you she looks like my first girlfriend? Those weird leggings and all. I won’t go into detail about the BDSM gear our first night.
Lily: What?
Angel: What? (osoro) She looks the same as the guy one! (hanako) I recall you two yelling about this one. The male one. Something about its eyes. This one looks fine to me.
Lily: Yeah, this one’s fine.
Angel: (megami) Did the artist have to exaggerate the breasts like that? God, that hair is... disturbing in model form. Wait, where’s the stuff you got really mad about? Is that in this version?
Lily: Mad about?
Angel: Never mind.

Bookshelf Briefs 9/5/17
Super mega briefs!
Aho-Girl, Vol. 2 | By Hiroyuki | Kodansha Comics -This is a 4-koma gag comic, so does not really rely on character or plot development. You just need funny gags. In this case, the gags rely on the main cast being absolute idiots. And to the manga’s credit, they are. If the cast were even a tiny bit less dumb, the whole series would merely be tedious. But everyone, especially the title girl, quadruples down on the stupidest possible outcome to any situation, and it just works. We do see a new girl here, who seems to like cute girls but may simply be as eccentric as everyone else. As for Sayaka, even given the fact that every gag comic needs a straight man, you still feel bad she’s in this series. Maybe she can go hang out with Nanase from Book Girl. – Sean Gaffney
Anne Happy, Vol. 6 | By Cotoji | Yen Press – Once again, there are hints that while the rest of the class has some random bad luck, Hanako’s bad luck—as well as her terminal case of Pollyanna optimism—may have a more sinister origin. I also get the sense, given the various hints we’re given in this volume, that their teacher is a former student of the unlucky class. In any case, we get the usual vague mixture of amusing and heartwarming, as Hibari thinks too much, Botan tries a bit too hard, and Hibiki is an absolute mess. I admit that I’m grateful for the hints of an ongoing plot regarding Hanako, mostly as otherwise this series doesn’t quite get along entirely on pure charm. You want it to be going somewhere, and for now I will trust that it is. – Sean Gaffney
A Centaur’s Life, Vol. 12 | By Kei Murayama | Seven Seas – Once again, I get the feeling that A Centaur’s Life is just a thin excuse for the author to do whatever he feels like doing every chapter. We get more action-packed dramatic flashbacks with death and maiming, framed as the cast visiting a natural history museum to look at their ancestors. We get romantic comedy hijinks, with crushes on guys and the like. We get more chapters that examine how typical Japanese events would work in the Centaur’s Life world, such as idol groups and faked ghost stories (or is it fake?). The best chapter in the book involves the cast having a mostly serious discussion on the concept of heaven, and why if you try to dig too deep to analyze heaven it just gets disturbing. As variable as ever. – Sean Gaffney
Chihayafuru, Vol. 4 | By Yuki Suetsugu | Kodansha Comics (digital only) – I love how Suetsugu-sensei uses Chihaya’s continued passion for karuta to get Arata to admit that he still loves the game. When they were kids, he was the one who introduced her to the game, and now she’s the one who brings him back to it, first by sending him updates on Mizusawa High’s progress through the Tokyo qualifiers, which has him refreshing his inbox every ten seconds for the results, and then by moving on to nationals at a venue that brings up memories of his grandfather. We learn more about what happened with his grandpa’s health, and it’s awful and sad, but learning that others look forward to seeing his grandpa’s style through him begins to clear up his guilt somewhat. Perhaps he can honor his grandpa best by continuing to play? I love this series so much. – Michelle Smith
Drifters, Vol. 4 | By Kohta Hirano | Dark Horse Comics – It has been three-and-a-half years since the last volume of Drifters came out in North America. That said, with a series like this I’m not sure it matters much. Sure, I’d forgotten literally everything going on in the previous books, and we don’t even get a ‘what has gone before’ page at the front. But I mean, this is Kohta Hirano. Is there lots of fighting? Oh yes. Some bloody killings? Definitely. Insane grins? By the bucketful. The whole manga is just an excuse for all of those things, and therefore it seems churlish to criticize the fact that the plot doesn’t really go anywhere, or that female characters are either absent or objectified. Recommended if you loved Hellsing, otherwise easily skippable. – Sean Gaffney
Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma, Vol. 19 | By Yuto Tsukuda and Shun Saeki | Viz Media – This volume is interesting, but it does give off a bit of a sense of filler, as we slowly advance through Azami’s plan to remake the school in his twisted image. Much to my surprise, Ryo’s battle does not go the way I assumed it would, and this leads to a number of satisfying scenes. There’s also the confirmation, which I think most readers have guessed by now, that Alice was in fact trying to contact Erina all along, and her letters were blocked all these years. The most dangerous battle may be the new one Soma has with #1 seat Tsukasa. They turn out to work very well together, almost like a well-oiled machine… which leads to Tsukasa offering to let Soma join Central. Some, of course, refuses… but will he regret it? Always good. – Sean Gaffney
Giant Killing, Vol. 5 | By Masaya Tsunamoto and Tsujitomo | Kodansha Comics (digital only) – East Tokyo United has lost the first several games of the season, and fans and management are starting to voice their displeasure. Now ETU is facing Nagoya, a team with three talented Brazilian players. But Tatsumi has spotted Nagoya’s one weakness and worked out a plan to exploit it. Seeing the team working together and their defense holding strong is a lot of fun, but their faces when they finally manage to score are the best bit. Tsubaki has talent, but he’s been inconsistent so far. Now, he seems to be playing without hesitation, and when he scores first ETU’s first goal, his expression conveys both his relief and a sense of atonement for past mistakes. There just seems to be more on the line than is usual in sports manga, and I was thoroughly caught up in the action until it was abruptly over. Highly recommended! – Michelle Smith
Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You, Vol. 27 | By Karuho Shiina | VIZ Media – Inspired by Sawako’s ability to honestly discuss her thoughts and feelings, Kazehaya tries a similar approach with his gruff father concerning his university plans. The situation remains unresolved until Kazehaya’s mother tells him about a special drawer wherein he discovers that his father has saved everything Kazehaya ever gave him. “You do make your dad happy. You really do. He just doesn’t show it.” Sniff! I didn’t know I needed to see them achieve an understanding, but apparently I did. After Sawako makes her decision about where she’s going to school, the focus shifts back to Ayane and her heartache over Pin, who she is convinced will never look at her romantically. It’s great to see her feeling love, after she doubted that she could, whatever the outcome. This is still such a great series! – Michelle Smith
Kiss and White Lily for My Dearest Girl, Vol. 3 | By Canno | Yen Press – Shiramine and Kurosawa have entered their second year and evidently still aren’t a couple, despite the occasional smooch that transpires between them. Shiramine is still not particularly likable, but she’s a bit more tolerable this time around, and has managed to defeat Kurosawa by one point on an English exam. There’s some question about whether she herself is special, or whether Kurosawa would take anyone who could make her feel like a regular girl, but this question is answered when Kurosawa is roped into the gardening club due simply to sheer proximity and not for her talents. She ends up staying, and dragging Shiramine into it, but mostly the second half of the volume deals with the other two members of the club. Although it’s still not as good as some schoolgirl yuri I’ve read recently (Bloom Into You), I think this series might be improving. – Michelle Smith
Kuroko’s Basketball, Vols. 13-14 | By Tadatoshi Fujimaki | Viz Media – Seirin vs. To-Oh is the main thrust of this volume, and it’s just as exciting as you might imagine, even if it’s tough to find words to describe it. As with most sports manga, you tend to define it as “good sports happens in these pages,” so even in an omnibus I struggle to say much more than “wow, he really got stronger!” or “did you see that shot?”. There is a hot springs section at the start of the book, which gives the teams a chance to casually taunt each other before the game, and also some primo fanservice, exactly the sort that young boys will want to see. There’s also some flashbacks to Kuroko’s middle-school days, mostly to give more depth to Aomine. Basketball happens. But it’s really good basketball. -Sean Gaffney
Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, Vol. 25 | By Shinobu Ohtaka | Viz Media – Well, we do get some Morgiana, my wish from the previous brief, but not a lot. Instead, Harukyuu is the focus of this 25th volume, which is both good and bad. Bad in that he turns to darkness, letting his anger rule him, mind-controlling soldiers and deciding murder is the best solution. Good in that the way this is handled turns out to be some of the best writing in the series, and a highlight of the volume. And honestly, if you’re going to try to murder someone, it’s hard to go wrong with his mother Gyokuen, who is smug in the best possible way, and even gets a few Higurashi faces here. (That’s her on the cover.) As for Alibaba, well, he’s headed over there, and I expect he and Harukyuu are going to clash horribly next book. – Sean Gaffney
My Love Story!!, Vol. 13 | By Kazune Kawahara and Aruko | VIZ Media – There are many shoujo romances that end with a reunion after a long separation, but My Love Story!! tackles this a little differently, showing us how tough the time apart was for Yamato and how hard she and Takeo are working to be able to get into the same college. Their romance stuff was nice, but honestly, the hero of the volume is Sunakawa, who keeps Takeo on track with studying, personally taking charge of his tutoring, and making good on a promise to smack Takeo if he ever does something really stupid. I loved that the creators took the time here at the end to emphasize what a special friend he is. I’ll miss this series, but Kawahara-sensei did say “it might be nice to write more of this story someday” in her final author’s note, so make of that what you will! – Michelle Smith
Pandora in the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn, Vol. 8 | By Shirow Masamune and Rikudou Koushi | Seven Seas – Not as many amusing cameos this time around, and wrapping up one plot and starting another means there’s a lot of awkward transition in the middle. Also, we get more than one “activation” sequence, because kids these days can’t get enough of faux vaginal fingering. Still, I would hope kids these days would not be allowed anywhere near Pandora. The main cast does get to show off, and Nene in particular shows that she’s really something special even among this cast that seems to have a lot of special people and/or machines. Oh yes, and we also get a glimpse of the big bads, who combine Nazi imagery AND Illuminati imagery. If you like saying “wtf?” a lot, Pandora is for you. – Sean Gaffney
Vampire Knight: Memories, Vol. 1 | By Matsuri Hino | Viz Media – I will grant you that Vampire Knight left some open endings, and it’s nice to see those gone into. Still, when you see an author’s next series after their huge hit cancelled after two volumes, and then they return with a spinoff of that old series, it’s hard not to cringe. The best part of this book, even if it’s really bittersweet, is between Aido and Wakaba. It’s clear they both have deep feelings for each other, but it’s also clear that Wakaba does not want to be a vampire, and therefore this romance just isn’t going to happen. It’s an interesting look at the issues semi-immortality brings. The chapters with Yuki interested me less, mostly as they deal with her post-vampiric personality. VK fans will like this, most others will find it superfluous. – Sean Gaffney

Hanako/Lotus and Rin belongs to @polar-stars!!
Emile/Canción belongs to @polar-star-dorks!!
Part 1 can be found here! Part 2 here! Comments are appreciated, and remember that I love you!!
The phone was placed down after the conversation she had with the male and she wondered why he would suddenly ask her out. At occasions, he would only drop by and bring her some lotus flowers to have a conversation with her- but he never really asked her out to go somewhere before. She placed the phone aside, making sure it didn’t drop. She sighed, her cheeks still red.
She may have thought that it was him only being sweet, but there was something about his voice sounded serious. It was a mix of playfulness, but she could tell there was something odd- she couldn’t pinpoint it. However, the possibilities were endless.
Why would he want her to visit his house from all places?
The male walked back to his living room, and he only heard the sound of music. A grin was seen on his face as he walked closer to his friends. “Music time already, I’m guessing.” He jumped to the couch before casually lying down. He really loved the sound of the songs he played on the guitar, and he felt really warm the moment Emile began singing.
“I’m accepting requests, mi amigo.” He stopped for a moment so that his friend can hear him. “So if you want a song to hear, I’ll do it for you!” He smiles brightly and Kaoru laughs before he hugged up a pillow and sat up. What could he possibly suggest? The musician waited for his friend to reply, and once Kaoru knew what he wanted- he snapped his fingers.
“How about... the song made by Bruno Mars? The one with numbers?”
“Count on me?”
“Yes.” He grinned. “That perfectly describes our friendship here.” Once he said those words, Emile looked like he was in peace.
“Alright, mi amigo.” He began strumming his guitar and began singing the song. This was one of the favorite things to do of the group every time they were together. Hearing him sing, being in the living room together... It always felt so great. It made them feel like they were completely normal people, and it made everyone in the room happy.
After a few song requests, Emile stopped and Masae began talking. “So Ruru, who were you talking to?” With that sudden question, he only raised an eyebrow. “Was it someone we know? Do we have something to do?” Ah. She meant who he was talking to a few minutes ago.
“It was Hanako.” He replies. “I’ve asked to meet her because I should... probably explain everything to her. I wouldn’t want to keep secrets from her... Also I may be planning to ask her to join the little group of ours. She’s always been someone who I can trust with everything, especially when it comes to managing. She probably is great in planning things out too.”
“Alright, understandable.” Masae stood up before she glanced at Emile. “Play Can’t Help Falling In Love With You, if that’s okay!”
“Wait- NO! I’m being serious, Sae. It’s totally business related thing.”
“I heard mi amigo say it was a date.”
“Emile never lies.”
God, Kaoru forgot how Emile can hear things beyond what a normal human can hear, and that Masae would literally trust him with anything- even if he told her dinosaurs fucking existed. “Fine, yeah. I told her that. It was to make her not overthink. If I said I had something to tell her, she’d probably wonder about it until Saturday.” He explained and once he did, they both believed in him. “She worries a lot, I don’t want to add up to her problems.”
At one point, Kaoru had to stay in his house and he waited for Masae and Emile to come back from their small mission together. He looked at all the people that had possibilities of getting targeted according to the people Emile negotiated with and the expression of his face changed after he saw the amount of people getting targeted in his school. “I do know that the people in middle school and high school were pretty rich but...” He flipped through the notes, fear in his eyes. “But this much... It’s probably...” His eyes darkened, and he twitched a bit. “Her.”
The door banged open, with Emile entering first, panting. Kaoru lost focus on the files he held and he instantly approached his friend. “The dorm called “Sakura Tokyo”...” He tried to catch his breathe. “There’s a shooting near it. Sae... She told me to go ahead... To tell you...”
Kaoru immediately paled. “Sakura... Tokyo?” That was the dorm where Hanako was currently living in, because she had an internship inside a place nearby. “Fuck. Emile... I...” He knew he couldn’t leave Emile alone in this area, and he wish he could split himself up. “Wait shit... Hold on...” He tried to think of another possibility to do, but his thoughts were stopped as soon as someone opened the door.
Out of surprise, Emile prepared a trap he was ready to push the trigger of, while Kaoru was prepared to throw a knife at someone’s head Before anything happened, the two observed the people who entered.
Two women. One with ginger hair and blue eyes. Another with white hair with icey eyes.
“Christelle... and I’m guessing you’re the new recruit of “Death”.”
The expression of the female became dangerous. “Yes. But he told me to come here quick. I don’t want anything to do with you, I only want to do as commanded.” She places her gun in her holster. “Emile Amamiya.”
Emile froze, not being that familiar with the woman who knew his name. “That’s me.” Luckily, he knew the person beside her so he gently placed the trigger back in his pocket.
“I and Christelle will protect you, for now.” She sighed, as she began tying up her ponytail. “I believe our gang leader will explain everything later. But we’ve heard about you.”
The girl with ginger hair moved closer to Kaoru before slapping him on the face to make him go back to reality instead of thinking of things. “What are you doing? You trust us, right? We got this. Go ahead. Go to “Death” and Sae. Be their back-up.”
With that, Kaoru only looked back at Emile, before looking at the girls. “I trust you two because I trust your leader, don’t get me wrong.” He brought his pistol out, before spinning it around and catching it. “However, if anything happened to Emile, I’ll kill the both of you.” With that, he left the house.
Christelle only went to Emile before presenting herself politely, while Rin began panicking in the inside, but she showed no fear on the outside. “... Your leader has the guts to threat us like that.”
Kaoru finally arrived in his destination, and he noticed that Masae was back-to-back with another gang leader. “Aroon.” The male who was behind his member caught his attention. “Quick. Go inside the Sakura Tokyo Dormitory. An unknown figure went inside, and I believe he wielded a knife.” He gave him some details. “She and I can handle this.” A grin suddenly formed on his lips. “They’re fucking ants compared to us.”
Despite the increasing heart beats each second that Kaoru was experiencing, the only thing he could do was follow whatever the man could say. “I trust you with this, “Death”. Make sure all the enemies are gone when I’m back.” He raced inside the dorm while holding his gun.
Shit. Who were they aiming for? He wasn’t able to ask Emile... What if they... Fuck, he shouldn’t think about it. Despite people hiding and screaming once he entered, he only went through each floor to find a suspicious figure. He kicked the door open in each room, because he believed that the people were either on the ground floor or have evacuated by now.
“Oh, I didn’t expect to see you here, Aroon.”
“What the fuck do you want?”
Kaoru pointed the gun at the male who held a person with his hands. To his dismay, it was no other than the woman he talked to just a few days ago.
“... Let her go.”
She was currently blindfolded and held down. She even had her mouth covered by duct tape. She was a hostage. The person couldn’t help but laugh at him. “I hope you remember be, and the day where you decided to shame me in front of all of your schoolmates.”
“You’re too old for this fucking business.” He gritted his teeth. “She hasn’t done anything to you. Leave her out of this.”
His mind was hazed. He knew that he could shoot the person dead at the moment, but if he did... There would be a chance that he’d stab the girl with one single wrong move. He had to calculate all the possibilities.
“I’ll give you three questions. If you answer all of it, I’ll let her go.” The man smirked and the girl was calm, she didn’t even show a single bit of fear. But maybe she was trying not to show it. She could hide things, after all.
He had no choice, now did he?
“Fine. Bring it.” Kaoru gulped, hoping that he would at least answer some questions vaguely, or the person in front of him was enough of a dumb ass to give him useless questions.
“First off, what’s your intention of joining the Yakuza?”
This wasn’t harmful to know, because it never dealt with anything too personal. “At first, I wanted to be a vigilante.” He paused. “Later on, I wanted to have revenge,”
“Second, who are the members of your gang?”
He bit his bottom lips, but he knew there was an alternative. He couldn’t give the name of his gang members, that’s basically betraying their trust. “Canción and Gaia.”
“Third, Their real names?”
That was one thing he will never answer. Now, he had to pick his gang or a woman that he considered as a friend. He twitched slightly, his hands was trembling as he continued to point the gun at the man’s head. No matter what, it would be a dead end. “Can my name be said instead?”
“Fuck no. I already know it. Your face is too similar to a Chankul member, I am guessing you’re his son.”
Kaoru began looking down, and he began sweating. This was one of the hardest things to do if you were a-
“YOU BITCH!” His attention shifted to the scene before him. The girl held a Swiss Knife, and her hands were currently untied and there was a slash on the leg of the man. She quickly removed the duct tape off her mouth. “Come back here, you’re the only hos-”
“Shoot him!” She yelled and he followed her instruction.
One single “bang” was heard inside the dorm, and with this- a body was down on the floor. The woman removed her blindfold. “It’s good I’ve always kept the swiss knife that Kao-” Once she met the eyes of the person who shot the man down, she was speechless.
“... I’m pretty sure you don’t know how to react.” He frowned before keeping his gun.
“Wait-”
They had direct eye contact, but he quickly avoided it, and she was able to tell that he had guilt in his eyes.
“I believe the Saturday Date is cancelled.” He runs through her before quickly jumping off the window. Even if she wanted to give him a response, he was gone before she could tell him anything.
After a few minutes, police sirens was heard in the district.
Saturday, 6:39 PM.
Kaoru was present inside the dining room talking to a someone who was almost twice his size. His head was down, and he was placing his head on his arms which were on top of the table.
“You do know when the food arrives, you have to sit properly. I think Masae is almost done.”
“I know, Tetsuji...” He began fixing himself, looking a bit restless. “I know you might think I did the wrong move... and fuck, I probably did. I should have told her.”
The man sighed softly. “I do believe you have your reasons of why you keep things from her. You probably thought of her too much.” He pointed out. “You must have been terrified of how worried she’ll be and that stopped you.”
He nodded his head. “I think that’s the reason.” He answered, but he still felt like shit. “Or I was afraid that maybe she’d... be scared of me. I don’t know.”
Even if Kaoru knew himself well, he couldn’t really say the real reason why he kept it from her... But maybe it was already said.
“It’s a surprise you’d think that.” Tetsuji stated. “I’ve already told her that I was planning to join one, she may have tried to stop me a couple of times because of worry, but it quickly passed and she ended up telling me that I shouldn’t die, and if I made the promise- she’d accept it.”
“You’re... just beginning. You’re not even in one yet...” He gestured to himself. “Then there’s me! Who’s a fucking leader!” He leaned on the chair before placing his hands all over his face. “I’ve been a leader for two months, and more than that if you count Dai. And then if you count Eizan and Kuga, just imagine how long I’ve been in this life... My dad is a head, and then my mom can literally slit someone’s throat and cry right after... God, I’ve been in this life forever...” He began messing up his own hair. “And I never fucking told her.”
“I do believe it’s you just being reasonable. You never told Emile, until months ago. Masae only knew because she was your childhood friend. I only knew because you’ve told me when I said I was interested.”
“You never tell anyone anything, until you think it’s the right time.”
Kaoru became quiet, and he began believing whatever he said. “You really are my dad friend from my other friends.” He smiles a bit. “That helped a bit.”
“Mi amiga! Pleasure to see you at this hour!”
“Emile, who en-”
Kaoru spun around to spot a female with her hair tied to a bun. She walked across the room to be near him. “You told me that we’re going to meet at 7. I always come 15 minutes prior to the meeting.” She looked around the room, and she noticed that Tetsuji was also present. “So what’s going on?”
“I thought you wouldn’t come.”
“And why wouldn’t I? I always go as scheduled.”
He was stunned by her answer. He always thought that after hearing that he shot someone, and seeing his face while he was doing his “job”- that she would be scared of him. That was the main reason why he wanted to talk before she ever saw anything.
Hanako looked at her watch. “Is my watch wrong?”
He didn’t respond immediately, but he did a gesture. “If you’re okay with it, then maybe I could talk to you in a more private room.”
“I don’t mind.”
Kaoru stood up from his chair before doing a salute to the man he was talking to. “Talk to you later, Tetsuji. Just eat with the other two, we’ll be back soon.”
They were currently inside the room of the gang leader, and it revealed a couple of things she’s never seen him wield before. “I certainly did not expect you to have this much weapons.” She stated before she brought out her Swiss knife. “I expected you to have some after giving me this for protection, but... this is way more than I thought you’d have.”
He sat down on the chair that was near his desk, and he started observing her. He couldn’t read her, and he couldn’t tell what she could have been planning or thinking about. “I gave you that to make sure that you have at least one self-defense weapon. I could have given you pepper spray, but I thought that you’d be better with a sharp object.”
“Out of topic.” She spoke. “But can I tell you something?”
He was already ready for the worst since he did betray her trust, but he did want to listen. “... Sure. I’m ready for anything.”
“It got me bewildered that you’d say that to me.” She kept her pocket knife back in her pocket. “When you said that you believed that the date was cancelled just because that whole scenario happened.”
He halted his movement for a moment. “... Is that all?”
“Actually... No.” She crossed her arms. “I wanted to ask... if you actually assumed .that I didn’t know that you were part of the Yakuza? I just could never conclude it because I’ve never seen you in action until yesterday. And you never told me.”
He was a little startled, hearing that she reacted like that. “If you knew, why were you never scared of me?”
“Why would I? You would never harm me, wouldn’t you?”
“I would never...”
“Exactly. Why would I be scared of someone who’d never harm me?” She brought up. “I may have been worried about you, and I wouldn’t want you to be in this dangerous business. However, it seemed like you were too into it, so I couldn’t stop you.”
He knew that she was brave, and that if she had something in mind- she’ll always do it. “I shouldn’t have underestimated you. I’ve even seen you bring that man down almost by yourself.”
“I would have been able to.” She brought up. “I made a plan for every thing that he may have done, I just thought shooting him down would waste less of my time. I still had several things to do, and I wouldn’t let a man mess with my time.”
“You’ve always amused me, Miss Hanako.” He began grinning. “I’ve always liked you, but right now, I’m even more interested.” He laughed, before pointing at his own bed. “You may sit, I want to ask you a couple of questions.”
She only sat down, but in an instant, she brought out her knife to block something that was thrown at her.
“Immediately sliced.” He was honestly impressed. “Through and through. Your reaction time beats mine.” He praised her. “You probably are the best person in planning but...” He placed his elbows on top of his desk before leaning. “I don’t think I should do it anymore.”
“Actually. Yes, I’ve been meaning to ask. Why did you want to have a date?”
Kaoru almost forgot why she was here, and it was because he asked her out. She never left things unanswered, and she would want to conclude everything while she can. “I wanted to tell you this, but after the whole incident... I don’t think I can.”
“I still want to know. But if you’re not ready...”
“No, I am. But will you hate me after I ask?”
“Never.” She smiled. “I won’t be able to hate someone who always tried his best to try and cheer me up throughout my whole middle school and high school life.”
A blush went across his cheeks, but he shook his head to snap out of it. “That was sweet for you to say but...” He began tensing up. Somehow, asking Emile and Masae was easier... but it was probably because they told him that they wanted to join himself. “God, my plan was ruined because I thought you’d not come. We were suppose to have steak, and eat together. Then I’ll bring it up... but the mood is all ruined.” He sighed.
“It’s fine. The mood may not match, but I do want to know why you’d want this. You never asked me to come over.”
“I was supposed to tell me what I was, but you knew it- so it would have been useless. Probably show you around my house, and show you my room in specific, which has weapons and make you guess. You are clever, I knew you’d know.”
Hanako began listening to his story. “Yeah, I do know. I would have guessed it before you showed me your room. So then what?”
“I would have asked you... If you wanted to join.” He raised his arms in the air. “Trust me, you don’t need to... But Hanako, I’ve always wanted to know that I greatly appreciate you. You know that, don’t you?”
“Of course I do.”
“Listen... You’re smart, and your ability to absorb information is beyond what a normal human can do. You’re able to manage anything, and you’ve always planned ahead... The fact of what happened when you found out the truth and confirmed it proved everything.” He paused, and he hoped she understood what she meant.
“And this means?”
“Everything about you, it just shouts out that we could include you in our gang, you’ll be essential in our group...” He stood up before going closer to her. “We need you. We need your ability, no one can fit the role better. You’re one of the best people I’ve met. And... I don’t think I can find anyone better.”
She was overwhelmed with all the compliments he said, and he was able to point out her talent. He’s always been the type to be able to see the best of her, and he’d always support her for whatever. “I see...”
“You don’t need to accept my offer to join us, you can take your time. I don’t mind waiting for an answer.” He patted her head. “I don’t want to force you. I want you... to pick for yourself.” He walked over to the door.
“I’m glad you’re giving me time. It’s a lot to take in.” She walked over to him, and he soon opened the door. “But thank you for everything you said. I feel more confident in myself because of you.”
“Glad to do so, milady. You deserve all the praise thrown at you.” He gestured her to go outside. “Hopefully, you don’t mind that the supposedly romantic dinner with a candlelight is not happening. But we’ll eat together with friends.”
“I think it’s fine.” She responded.
“Alright, after you, milady.”
She wasn’t forced to join, and she did not need a deadline for her decision.
After four months, Tetsuji was driving a car with a woman inside. She crossed her legs, looking at a stack of papers. “Are you finally giving a response to him?” The man asks as he finally steps on the break. “I’ve joined him three months ago, I believe that you’re the only left that he’s waiting for.” The both of them exited the car and knocked on the door of the ever-so -familiar house.
“I’m well informed. I’ve been thinking for months.” She told the tall man and the moment the door opened, they spotted the gang leader with a suit on. “So, leader... I’ve made my decision.”
“What is it, Miss Hanako?”
“I’m joining the gang.”
