I’m not sure there’s a specific ship I’ve wanted to play but haven’t had the chance to.  There’s certainly certain dynamics I’ve longed to play out - I am so fucking weak for “enemies to reluctant allies to fwb to lovers” or any variation on that theme and I’ve never really gotten to play that one out.  I have a weakness for arranged marriages which don’t necessarily work for her main verses and would require plotting.  I would fucking murder a small child for a “Beauty and the Beast” type ship because Vivian was made for that.

Specifically relating to my latest post, but in general also: I feel like my attention span has gotten so bad these days in terms of actually finishing anything, to the point that the deflection/procrastination-projects get as silly as "builds a whole-ass 3D model instead of finishing the goddamn drawing because that's somehow easier than dealing with the perfectionism demon hovering over my shoulder when I draw these days"

(I think this why I'm trying to chase looser styles/play around with traditional media here and there again, since anything too precise starts to activate the Overthink Demon. I guess what I post is "oops! All sketches" anyway, but a lot of things still get overworked. Probably should start using timers again or something idk) Rarely do I actually "finish" models as well, which is generally why I don't post any (they are almost always studies/character reference models) but let's see if I can get around to making some Printable Little Guys this year, since frankly I find 3D a more comfortable medium to work in than outright painting/doing rendered-out stuff

Ramble post, but I'm always interested in the topic of "process" when it comes to art, and how struggles & limitations might actually help an individual find what their strengths really are too (or, just reveal areas that need more work. I DO want to finish a couple of the paintings in my WIP folder, but I also have accepted that it's not gonna be the natural medium for me ever) (I always try to include art in long text posts like this so they aren't as boring. Have a Banana Cat drawing I never uploaded. Also yes the printer HAS been added to my enclosure and it's great fun :> )

I was watching a Youtube video of all the Cinematic from the new Overwatch Invasion update (cause heaven knows I ain't buying it) and I noticed at the end Ramattra has this like.. Burn? Mark?? On his chest that goes through his cape

So I downloaded Overwatch on my PC to get a look at the Wandering/Traveling Monk skins this scene is using and I noticed..

Traveling and Wandering have a lot of visual differences, most notably in the burn the originally got my attention.

Wandering has been used canonically to show Ramattra's monk days previously, in his origin story and in the Developer commentary, but interestingly the artwork in those videos is lacking that very burn

Overwatch character designers are very good at visual storytelling, especially with Omnics (I could write an essay on what they've done with Zenyatta), so I believe this burn may very well be what became the Last Straw for Ramattra, what pushed him to leave the Shambali, what caused his fall into violence and eventually Talon.

Was he attacked? Or was he attempting to protect someone else? Despite his best efforts to shield them, the shot fired right past him, scorching his metal, cutting through his cape, and taking their life...

I hope we learn more about it.

It's been 7 years and I'm still bothered by this one mistranslated quote from Day 8 in Jumin's route in the 3:30PM chat bc it fuels the Jumin slander and I won't stand for it 😤

Bc the English version goes like this : MC : You’re not thinking of me as a replacement for your pet, are you ? Jumin : Well, the use is fairly similar.

BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT HE'S SAYING IN THE KOREAN VERSION. HE SAYS ‘엘리자베스 3세가 떠난 시기에 내 곁에 오게 되어서 그렇게 생각하는 건가 ?’ “Do you think so because you came to me at the same time Elizabeth the 3rd left ?”

He's not saying the 'use' is similar, he's acknowledging that the timing of events (MC coming into his life right before Elizabeth goes missing) may look suspicious but he assures her that it's not the case and she doesn't have to worry about that and that he knows she's completely different.

I'm honestly thinking about posting the entire translation of his route (and Jihyun's too — dear God his route is a disaster when it comes to bad translation) from Korean to English at this point lol
