Have a redesign of the cursed Ahsoka tube top outfit
The latest Ahsoka episode reminded me of an old young Ahsoka redesign I did a while ago. Decided to do a redraw and play around with colors since my original didn't have them.

I got a good feeling about "The Acolyte"
Not even kidding. Like, I've spoken before about why I'm wary of it.
George Lucas' Star Wars is something that intentionally has black and white morality, rather than shades of gray. Those movies are meant for kids and projecting a "gray" morality onto them then proclaiming it was George's vision all along is doing so in bad faith.
The narrative of the Prequels doesn't frame the Prequel Jedi in as negative a light as Leslye Headland, Dave Filoni, etc etc do.
See here for more details, but bottom line: yeah, a show that has a darksider as the underdog is bound to demonize the Jedi (who are the actual underdogs in the Prequels), and obviously that rubs me the wrong way.
BUT.
The trailer looks fucking cool. It really really does.
youtube
And more importantly? I've done some research... and Leslye Headland is ticking a lot of good boxes, in my book.
1. The Acolyte won't be a 10-hour movie.
I've criticized Disney Plus shows before, explaining that a big source for most of their issues is that these series are being structured as "long movies" rather than, y'know, actual shows.
But in this interview with Collider, Headland addresses that: it'll be a series. Not a long movie that you need to watch across four weeks.
Tumblr media
Thank God. You have no idea how much that comforts me. Finally a showrunner who's, y'know, actually running a show.
And this goes hand in hand with what she told IGN, here, about how she's going about building suspense.
Tumblr media
Yes! Exactly! That's how it's supposed to be!
Like, compare this to Baylan Skoll's storyline in Ahsoka.
In no possible way was that emotionally-fulfilling. For 8 episodes we had no idea what he was after, and the season ended where we still don't know. What does he want? What is he after? Your guess is as good as mine, it's something Mortis-related.
So yeah. Maybe getting the Emmy-nominated trained screenwriter on board to run this was a good idea.
2. Maybe the Jedi will not be as demonized as I originally thought.
Don't get me wrong. 80% of what she says about the Jedi makes me cringe. It's the typical fan's interpretation and y'all know I disagree with that interpretation.
Tumblr media
It's painful to see her refer to the Jedi as an institution (not how the Prequels' narrative frames them) and to see her frame "Balance" in the "oh there's so many of them and just two Sith, that means the Force is out of balance" meaning... but at least she acknowledges the Jedi are a benevolent institution.
They're not an "elitist force hiding in their ivory tower" as others have described the Jedi.
Moreover, there'll be a variety of Jedi POVs, many personalities.
Tumblr media
Yord Fandar, is described as a strictly by-the-book Jedi Knight and guardian from the Jedi Temple, is an overachiever and a rule follower.
The question now becomes: will the narrative frame him as "your typical Jedi" or is it just this one guy? I'm hoping it's the latter.
I also like how her reasoning goes re: Jedi drawing their lightsabers.
Tumblr media
Which explains the hand-to-hand combat seen in the trailer.
Tumblr media
This teenager is coming at Carrie-Ann Moss with a dagger, of course the Jedi won't draw her saber.
3. She's a fan of Star Wars... but a screenwriter first.
You can tell in the interviews she's a fan. She's using words like "BBY" and "EU" casually. In the above-linked interviews she's bringing up the Nightsisters, Timothy Zahn, The Clone Wars, she mentions she has a tattoo of Ralph McQuarrie's concept art of Leia, the High Republic books, etc.
She's done her homework. She's a fan.
But the vibe I'm getting from these interviews is that she's weaving in these various lore-elements in a more organic way, rather than in the "fan-servicey" way Dave Filoni has been doing in his shows.
The references and Easter Eggs will be there, but the narrative won't bend over itself just so you can get it. Crafting a good story comes first, and Andor is a beautiful illustration of why this is true.
Tumblr media
Which is why I was never bothered about one of the writers never having watched Star Wars before getting the job. You need those fresh eyes when you're tackling something of this scale.
That makes sense to me. Maybe it's because of my own screenwriting experience, but yeah. That out-of-the box perspective is precious.
And like, obviously, that writer watched the films eventually, but for some reason everyone who bitched about Headland omitted that detail and opted for a more bad faith interpretation.
Hm. Wonder why.
Maybe it's the same reason that months ago this clipped audio circulated socials without context, in which she debates whether Star Wars only came from George Lucas and only Lucas is the key.
Tumblr media
The FULL context of that interview reveals that she's actually:
debating the "autheur director" myth and positing that it was achieved by a collective of excellent filmmakers and craftspeople that George was skilled and smart enough to recruit...
the studios now think it's a simple as hiring one guy and throwing money at him, because they have no idea what the fuck they're talking about. See Napoleon (2023) for example.
Yes, she also does a jab to the Prequels, which speaks to the generation of fans she's a part of... but overall she's giving Lucas props whilst also stating an ideological difference, that's it!
George is a proponent of the "autheur" theory, Leslye isn't.
However, guess what, in like half the talks George gave post-selling Star Wars? He's giving shoutouts to everyone who helped make the first film, even remembering their names.
So I'm not even sure he'd vehemently disagree with Leslye, in fact they'd prolly have a conversation about it and immediately bitch about how stupid studio executives are :D
But that's not as incendiary, is it? Again, the more I do the research, the more it feels like the reason most of these influencers are hating on her is purely sexist.
I mean, on IGN she's even acknowledging that she does plan on taking stock of fan reactions for Season 2.
Tumblr media
It's not a guarantee that she'll incorporate the feedback, but at least that's more consideration than, say, JJ Abrams or Rian Johnson gave the fandom.
She's even bringing the moral ambiguity that the Gray Jedi-loving edge-lords love so much.
Tumblr media
"No, she's a woke feminist! Anything she does is evil! Eww, girls!"
🙄
Needless to say... I'm gonna give it a shot.
I think it's gonna be a good show, I think it's gonna be a solid story.
I'm crossing my fingers that they won't as biased against the Jedi as it seems they'll be. Even if they are... if it's still an enjoyable experience, I'll gloss over it.
As @gffa states in this post:
Worst case? It's not a story from George. I can dismiss it from my headcanon without a moment's hesitation :D

STAR WARS: Eleventh Fleet AU
And again the concept art in the "Eleventh Fleet"...
This time will be the Supreme Admiral Ba'kif and beholder Brierly Ronan. A post about human will be the following, and now “thoughts out loud - part third” about the old, who has seen life, chiss.
Admiral's design was exemplary "officer, concise and practical", only thing that showed his high status - the white form and honor chains (which are "individual", and not all, like Thrawn's, kriff, I will have to redo the chains in the future).
Kivu'raw'nuru, the future Mitth'raw'nurudo, unconsciously adopted such a practical image for himself.
At the beginning of the stories of Karyn and Eli, former Supreme General took the highest position in the hierarchy of the Chiss navy fleet. Perhaps it was this event that the fleet saved from the catastrophe that led to the civil war in the dominance, and then the war with the grysks, which lasts up to the events of the "Ahsoka".
The cost of salvation of fleet personally for Ba'kif became a scar passing on the left side of the face. Ronan couldn't completely remove him with the help of the created bacta's analogue, but he saved his face from more serious damage.
The future director of the UAG is a universal analytical group, in fact, a lot will do a lot for its unexpected protector. Admiral, in turn, will secretly help his protege. It is Ba'kif who will help Lyron (chiss interpretation of the name Brierly Ronan) to attract, and then make Stybla's Family with his ally.
And Ronan was able to make an analogue of hot chocolate, and Ba'kif now drinks this drink in liters. And when Vanto showed that you can still add different “toppings” to the drink (Eli made such drinks for Un'hee), the seasoned admiral discovered a whole “marvelous new world”. However, this is a secret for nine seals.
And the reserves for the preparation of the "caf" were captured by Ar'alani and Mak'ro.
By the way, Stybla Family is no less interesting "house" than the same Mitth. One information about them is worth it. But more on this is another time.
Hmm, and in addition to the thoughts of Ba'kif … If you imagine how the character sounds, then the voice acting of Peter Kallen, the voices of Optimus Prime, would be just perfect. Well, Andrei Yaroslavtsevin the russian version too (seriously, listen to his voice, he voiced Prime very well) ///v///

Rebels Rewatch: “Vision of Hope“
Plot threads coming together as we approach the home stretch and season finale arc, lets explore some sewers today!
Kanan has deemed it safe enough to enlist help training Ezra again.  Fortunately this time they are solidly on the ground and taking precautions. XD
This exercise is a little bit similar to the one Anakin put Ahsoka through in Trials of the Jedi.  Only, you know, it has an actual achievable goal and endpoint (redirecting a blaster bolt into the target helmet) and Kanan doesn’t force Ezra to keep getting knocked unconscious over and over again.
Nice detail in Ezra sensing bolts coming and ducking, moving before they even remotely reach him.
Tumblr media
Please help him, he’s so tired.
Seeing that Ezra’s distracted, Kanan calls a brief halt.  I do wonder if Ezra’s own anticipation of catching Gall Trayvis’s broadcast, while he’s open to the Force and letting it help him deflect and dodge shots, is what triggered his vision.
The boy does tend to accident his way into Force breakthroughs lol.
Tumblr media
This full-body eyeroll is such a typical teenager thing.
The “Shenanigans” leitmotif comes in here, in playful synths.  Then the Force ring sound effects starts and it crashes to a halt with a note of cymbal percussion.  The strings take over with high frantic ascending trills that drop away into the full-on soundscape of Force noises, only a strained trumpet bleeting out halting notes of Ezra’s theme.
There’s a pulsing heartbeat sound underneath everything too.  Also love the wavering effect on the sides of the screen to indicate the vision.
The amazement when Kanan tells Ezra he deflected every single shot into the helmet, aww.
Tumblr media
He looks so proud.
You know in hindsight it’s really not surprising that Kanan assumed Ezra had graduated to tracking through the Force in “Legacy”, given how often the kid had already surprised him. XD
Tumblr media
His face.  *sobs*
I haven’t been commenting on it much but pay attention to whenever the titlecard pops up without its normal bombastic fanfare.  Usually a sign that things are serious.  I remember we went a solid streak of like five episodes in Season Four without a single fanfare and it was STRESSFUL.
Kanan brings up the very likely possibility that Ezra’s desires are coloring his vision, making him see what he wants to see out of it, which again goes to show why the Jedi teach discipline and clarity of mind when tapping into the Force.  You bring your own emotions and junk into the connection with you and they can trick you even more than the already cryptic and vague visions can.  “Your focus determines your reality.”
We’ll revisit this concept later in the series.
Zeb going for a headsmack while Sabine chooses a shoulder bump.  Sabine has this adorable devilish grin right before she lays it on him.  It turns softer and more playful as she passes.
Tumblr media
Ezra smacks Zeb back as he runs into the Ghost, cute.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: The way Ezra twirls his helmet before sitting down, lovely little character touches like this make the animation feel more natural and immersive and realistic.
Hngh, Ezra’s eagerness in these early scenes hurts.
Lol, Sabine leans in when Ezra mentions the mural, the artist in her is intrigued.  And without missing a beat she pulls up the correct schematic.
Tumblr media
This is the biased shipper in me but I’m loving their comfortable proximity, you can see Sabine slip out of her seat in the booth and kneel or crouch next to Ezra who’s on the stool.
Kanan once again warning Ezra not to put too much stock in his vision and Hera raising an eyebrow like, “Mais, c’est quoi?”
Tumblr media
“He had a what now?”
Hi Zare!
Zare is exiting state left into his own spinoff adventure lol.  (Really gotta get myself a copy of his books.)
Ezra’s eyes are really pretty this episode.
The crew talking about Ezra’s tragic backstory. :(
That old Ralph McQuarrie concept art put to use in lovely fashion.
Tumblr media
*has a plan*
Tumblr media
*DOUBT.jpeg*
And Chopper straight up murdered his first other droid lol.  And also very nearly takes Kanan’s head off.
The sass on this droid. XD
Always found it cute how Ezra doesn’t get indignant or offended by Sabine implying he smells like the sewers but glees up like it’s the most exciting thing in the world that she’s paid enough attention to him to tell.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even Kanan’s like, “Okay, can you not be embarrassing about your obvious crush for like two seconds?”
Hi Trayvis, you dirty lying snake. :)
Tumblr media
This shot of Ezra and Kanan igniting their lightsabers together for the first time is pretty sweet.
“Padawan Jabba.”  Snrk, love that Kallus remembered that.
Oooooh lookit the way Zeb’s bo-staff lights up the smoke!
Hera’s blaster has a very unique sound that I like.
The “Shenanigans” cue comes back but it is a lot less fun and upbeat.  Some of the chords sound transposed to minor key.
Trayvis starting pinging me the moment we saw him in person, honestly, just something about him and the way he talked was way too slimy but his hesitance to actually escape here definitely got me suspicious.
Good thing Kanan was reviewing blaster bolt deflection earlier lol.
Tumblr media
SNAAAAAAAAKE.
NO ONE LIKES YOU. >:(
Tumblr media
“How will you find us?”  “I can smell you, remember?” <3333333
Love to see Sabine initiating the banter for once.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even Hera is like, “THAT’S CUTE GUYS BUT WE GOTTA GO.”
Trayvis digging for leads to other Rebel factions like the lying rat he is. >:(
Aaaaaand this is why Hera doesn’t tell the others anything, Ezra’s so eager to believe Trayvis is an ally that he’s just talking openly in front of him.  Disaster averted only because Ezra thinks the Ghost crew is literally all there is.
Subtle animation appreciation moment: The consistent wafts of air from the fan that blow Ezra’s hair.
The sharp-eyed can tell that Hera adjusts something on her blaster moments before handing it to Trayvis.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
EVERY SINGLE SHOT OF THE BETRAYED LOOK ON EZRA’S FACE HURTS ME PHYSICALLY AND PERSONALLY.
Tumblr media
Bbbbyyyyyyyyyy. :((((((((((((
Hera’s furious Mama Bear haymaker to Trayvis’s face is... satisfying.
I love the sound Ezra’s saber makes when it’s turned on, it sound so unique to normal lightsaber ignitions.
And then there’s one last distorted iteration of the “Shenanigans” cue and Ezra’s death glare game continues to be on point.
Tumblr media
Hera’s turn to comfort Ezra this time, though Kanan’s flat, “I saw this bratty kid who constantly caused me trouble.” gets a chuckle out of him first.
“Shenanigans“ comes back, properly in the woodwinds section and major key again to close us out.
Oof.  This episode isn’t one I particularly rewatch that often, since it’s kind of a bummer.  Our potential ally turns out to be a fraud and a spy, all the work the crew has done only seeming to put bigger and bigger targets on their backs.  But this is a franchise about hope, about enduring until the dawn breaks, so our heroes escape to lick their wounds, regroup, encourage each other, and try again.
And next episode they make some big splashes.  Boy oh boy. :)

(Another) redraw of my old Knight!Ahsoka design :) Something about this concept is so fun to keep doing again and again and it’s also fun to see how my art has improved over time!
Most recent version:
Tumblr media
Image description: This is a digital fanart of Ahsoka Tano as an adult wearing a maroon sleeveless tunic with split sides over a sleeveless pink mock neck shirt. She is wearing a brown belt with a gold buckle and boots and gauntlets in the same color scheme. She wears her Akul teeth headband and the same pink color scheme as the earlier seasons of the Clone Wars TV show. Her lightsabers are clipped to her belt. She is smiling while stretching. There is text that reads: “Knight Ahsoka, September 2023.” End I.D.
Old Version:
Tumblr media
Image Description: This is a digital fanart of Ahsoka Tano as an adult wearing similar clothing to the previous image in more muted shades of maroon and dark gray. She is smiling and posing with a hand on her hip. End I.D.

Wʜᴀᴛ ⵊ ᴛʜɪɴᴋ ᴅᴀᴛᴇs ᴡɪᴛʜ Sᴛᴀʀ Wᴀʀs ᴄʜᴀʀᴀᴄᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ʟɪᴋᴇ
Take this while I work on requests and cough my lungs out
warning - wolffes gets a little nsfw 👀
Sᴛᴀʀᴡᴀʀs Mᴀsᴛᴇʀʟɪsᴛ
Tumblr media
Anakin Skywalker - To start of let’s get one thing out of the way rq, this man doesn’t know what the concept of time management is. He’s literally late to everything, doesn’t matter if he was the one who made the plans, set up the reservations he’s always late. Smh. He probably considers almost any type of alone time with you a date. Taking you out to a burger place? It’s a date now. Need to go clothes shopping? It’s a date. Def doesn’t like to take you to super fancy place for dates, not bc he doesn’t think you deserve it bc trust me he spoils you in different ways but bc he doesn’t like super formal settings like that. Dates with him are always a lot of fun tho, and they always ends in the two of you doing something you definitely should not be
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ahsoka Tano - Out door dates are her thing fs!! She knows all the spots to and she shares them all with you. Need to know were the best view of corascaunt is? Or were you can find the prettiest flowers? She’s your girl! Dates with her are soo romantic. She takes you on picnics, Star gazing, hiking etc. You always get the best photos of her bc she’s photogenic asf and just going out with her in general is so much fun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Commander Cody - He likes more home dates, And yk what your cool with it bc it’s always amazing. He also would take you out to fancy dinners every now and then, and he takes date advice from Obi wan so dates with him are always very nice and romantic.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Captain Rex - Literally showing you off the entire time, and will continue bc he’s so proud to have a s/o who’s so amazing. He takes date advice from Anakin, and then when Ahsoka hears what Anakins telling him, she decides to help him out bc she doesn’t want him to get dumped. Weirdly specific, but I think he took you to a fair for your first date. In the end your dates end up being a lot of fun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Commander Wolffe - Complete opposite of his brother cody, he has no idea what he’s doing. In fact it probably didn’t even occur to him that he was supposed to take you on dates until someone said something abt it. His idea of a date was taking you out to 79’s with the rest of his squad, and that ended with him knuckles deep inside of you at the back of the bar bc he got a little to jealous watching you talk with his vod. After that and a little talk you decided that you would be the one planing dates.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Obi wan Kenobi - Dates with him are sooo romantic, classy and aesthetic honestly. Lots of cafe dates, painting/art stuff and he loves trying new types of food with you as well. Museum dates are a given with him, but if you don’t like that kinda stuff it’s alr bc he has a whole bucket list of things he wants to do with you. He’s a hopeless romantic 100%, so all the dates he takes you on make you feel like your in a romance novel. My guy knows what he’s doing ;)

I just saw a post calling ahoska and obi wan anakins truest loves and uh what? It brought up the mortis arc of tcw and essentially minimizing the anidala love for one another as some form of escapism and how its poison ( even tho vader literally gets saved bc of luke - padmes son🙄) Its so strange how ahsoka fans want to make her a more prominent character than she really is. Also a recurring opinion that gets brought up is ahsoka knowing/understanding anakin better than padme and obi wan when she didn’t even know things about him (like he was a slave) and we consistently see anakin confide in padme its just so odd how alot of star wars fans diminish her
That doesn't surprise me at all since Star Wars is Ahsoka Wars at this point. And even if it wasn't, you have to give the Skywalkers at least some rest uk? The constant retconning and addition of new stuff most people didn't even ask for is tiresome. Ahsoka from the start felt very OC-ish to me because she was constantly hyped and favored in a way not even Anakin was. She felt like a self-insert jedi character so her place is canon is just weird. And forcing her to be important in places where she's not needed just shows Filoni's favoritism. At least GL wasn't ever really biased towards Anakin and Luke. Anakin mainly suffered through so much and had enough flaws and complexies which Ahsoka never had. She's constantly in a plot armor and just overpowered imo. But ofc she's a badass Jedi so she is more popular than Padme. I cant even.. I just hate the way TCW and Filoni wrote her. I don't see Anakin as being a big brother to anyone. Or being a teacher. The only other natural interaction he has except Padme and his mother is with Obi-Wan and even that took time. They didn't get along well in the first two movies and although he does joke around with Obi Wan in ROTS, he has his own slightly awkward and shy way of doing it. And I imagine he's semi reserved and shy with other Jedi. Or when we see him interacting with Padme's family. But to make him a responsible master is strange because even in ROTS he was too young and not mature enough to be level-headed and responsible all the time. And I like that because he has flaws but he was trying to learn and wanted to be a good father. And I do believe he really gained that maturity (which was stunted due to obvious trauma) and fatherly affection for Luke after ESB and not before. I think he would have had trouble connecting with Leia as well post ROTJ because he wasn't prepared to and had no experience being a role model for anyone. Meanwhile, 22 year old TCW Anakin with Ahsoka acts like a 30 year old man with anger issues...
It's also frustrating to see Padme being reduced to a love interest when she was a main character and part of the trio. She, like Han, didn't need to be a Jedi to be one of the main characters and it's boring to see a trio of Jedi only. I don't really blame Ahsoka fans - only Filoni for constantly dragging her into everything and I'm glad it's backfiring because I see fans who previously liked her are beginning to get tired of her being shoehorned into every single SW thing and acting all Mary Sue. Also, see the amount of concept arts and storylines they wrote for Padme during the prequels. She had more arts than Anakin and Obi-Wan. GL clearly wanted her to be important even more than Leia in ANH because we see much more of Padme and the first movie directly involves her and her planet with Anakin's discovery being a sideplot. It's disrespectful to reduce her to a love interest.
This video puts it really well (although he isn't a fan of the prequels as far as I can remember): "Dave Filoni's biggest problem as a writer apart from his complete inability to write interesting dialogue or craft stories that are more than just fetch quest for Magical McGuffin or create people who actually make smart decisions or his borderline fetish for the boring mediocre character he's trying so hard to insert as the driving force behind the entire Star Wars narrative is his constant [ __ ] around and reconning of past events and World building to suit the needs of his own narrow story. It's like he's staying in a hotel room for a couple of days and decided that he now has the right to completely remodel the place because he feels like it. This isn't your job Dave you're supposed to work within the rules of the world that George created not write a whole bunch of new ones just to suit yourself that now affect everyone else."
Lol applause for saying that out loud

Ahsoka Tano deflecting a blaster bolt from a mercenary on Corvus. Concept art by Brian Matyas. Image from The Mandalorian, Season 2, Episode 5, The Jedi.
“Grogu, I get it. You want your own lightsaber. But I’m not a Jedi. I can’t show you how to make one.”
Din Djarin had answered this question a dozen times since Grogu had returned from Luke’s Jedi Sleep Away Camp. The first time he asked the question was right after he woke from the nap he took with the rancor. He’d pointed out that the Dark Saber was technically a light saber and a Jedi’s weapon and it would be much safer with him.
“Buddy, I appreciate that. But this thing is taller than you are and the blade is almost a meter long. Which is three times your height. I don’t want you to get hurt.”
Grogu had found a way to tell him, in no uncertain terms, that of the two of them he thought the Mandalorian was far more likely to be injured by it. Regardless of those harsh words, Grogu had let the topic drop. They had a lot of other things to do.
But Din should have realized that Grogu was nothing if not persistent. When they went to meet with the Armorer, he brought the subject up again.
“Buddy. I’m in enough trouble with the Tribe as it is. I don’t need you to help me dig this hole deeper, you know.”
Grogu explained again that the Creed, according to his research, was not as restrictive as the Armorer was insisting and after all Din Djarin had the Darksaber and was the de facto ruler of Mandalore.
“Sure, pal, whatever you say, but we don’t even know if there’s anything worth ruling on Mandalore. You have plenty of time to locate or build a lightsaber of your own. If you ask nicely, I’m sure Luke will be happy to help you.”
The look Grogu had given him after that statement was the physical embodiment of ‘Dank Farrik’. Din had gone out of his way after that to find Grogu the freeze dried frogs that he liked so much to try and make amends. Why he needed to make amends was a different matter, but he choose to try to make his companion feel a little bit better about things.
Then they went to Plazir-15 and the whole thing was brought up all over again. While Din and Bo-Katan had been busy tracking down the issues with the droids there, Grogu had spent his time with the Duchess and Captain Bombardier. Grogu had explained to them about being a Jedi in training and that he’d really like his own lightsaber and it was all the Mandalorian could do to talk the Duchess out of demanding that one be provided for him instantly.
He had given her a brief description of what they could do at their worst and how he was trying to save Grogu from that and the scars that he had gotten just trying to train with the Darksaber and that ended that.
“I cannot bear to imagine that darling person being hurt like that. He is a gentle soul and should only know the most peaceful pursuits.”
The Mandalorian was glad she felt that way. The Captain had been a help when Grogu appealed to him directly.
“My young man, you’ll hurt yourself. The balance is all off for such a combination. I believe that you should think about obtaining a sling shot. They were all the rage here when we last had a battle of the biscuits. I’m sure you would have been an expert on that field of battle, given how you laid waste to the food at luncheon.”
Grogu had pouted and scuffed his feet and then was surprised to find that the Captain had managed to stuff his pockets full of biscuits and was happily distracted.
The more they traveled, the more Grogu lobbied for a lightsaber. Finally, when they were back to Nevarro after ridding the galaxy of Moff Gideon again, again, again, Grogu asked that same question for the nth time. Din blamed himself. He had mentioned that they might want to reach out to Ahsoka Tano about what happened on Mandalore.
“If Moff Gideon could get away from the New Republic, there’s no telling what happened with Morgan Elsbeth.”
It had been a simple statement of fact, but Din had forgotten that Ahsoka Tano had two lightsabers, not just one. Uff. This was not going to be easy to defuse.
“Buddy, I understand that Ahsoka has two lightsabers. That makes her a formidable opponent in a fight and an excellent ally. But I’m sure she had to train a lot before she got them and that her master must have tested her extensively. That’s not something I can do for you. You saw what the Darksaber did to my leg and anyway, it’s gone now.”
Grogu had sighed, plopped down, and just looked sad. He didn’t even eat his meal that evening. That was a first and not the good kind. Before they called it a night, Din couldn’t take the sighing and pouting and scuffing any more. He’d never seen Grogu so upset.
“Alright buddy. How about this? I’ll contact Luke and see if he has time for us to pay him a visit on Ossus. You said he had another, smaller lightsaber there. Maybe he’d be willing to train you? You’d have to stay on Ossus and we’d have to put our work training you as my apprentice on hold, but if that’s what you want, we can do that.”
It was Din’s turn to sigh and look sad, but he needn’t have worried. Out of no where Grogu had a sling shot and hit the Mandalorian cleanly in the middle of his chest protector with a… biscuit. Apparently lightsabers were overrated compared to sling shots, or, Grogu had made his choice again. Either way, the Mandalorian smiled and then laughed as Grogu began to collect all the biscuit pieces and shove them in his mouth. Waste not want not was definitely part of the Creed.

Someone needs to explain me why the “Siege of Mandalore” arc in the concept arts is called “Twins” before I start doing more theories
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, is not secret Dave Filoni already said that Maul and Ahsoka are “the other part of the same coin”
which means that, for him, Maul and Ahsoka are equals in the force. Reflections of one another, in the different sides of the force, because of their similar lifes being the product of the training of two of the most powerful beings in the galaxy, and forgotten and betrayed by their orders after the infinite penances they had to go through and their immense devotion for their “religion”. That in the end, made them followers of the dark and light side respectively, but under their own philosophy and law.
The clone wars end is great too because we saw the journey this two apprentices had during the series, and after so long, they finally met. Two apprentices, the half of another, that could have been the only two persons capable of changing the course of history if light and dark weren’t enemies.
Considering this, I find really curious they put the word “Twins” for this arc concept arts. But more than just being the half of the other, I remembered something this days: For many alien species, included Maul’s and Ahsoka tribes, the galaxy is ruled by two deities who represent light and dark:
The twin deities. The fanged god and the winged goddess. Also known as “The son” and “The daughter”
The fanged god: An spirit of masculine energy and chaos
The winged goddes: A selfless being of femenine energy and compassion
Tumblr media
The two entities have in their destiny to generate imbalance in the force, by fighting eternally each other on Mortis. The brother, always for his own selfish reasons, meanwhile the daughter would often put others in front of her.
Tumblr media
“The Daughter was a selfless being who cared greatly for her family, particularly her father.”
Tumblr media
“In her greatest show of loyalty and love, the Daughter threw herself in front of the Dagger meant to kill the Father”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Sacrificing herself to save him”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If the twins would have not fought forever, for thinking different due their diversion of ideas and path to follow, would have that changed the destiny of the galaxy? We don’t know. But is sure things could have been different if the deities have found common ground.

So, elaborating a bit further.
I don’t like the concept that people can become force sensitive if they think hard enough because that creates a massive hole in pre existing canon. If that’s how it works, then why didn’t the clones? Surely Rex, Cody, Wolffe and the others could have picked up on it after working with Jedi for years. Why didn’t Han? Why didn’t Poe?
I also don’t think Sabine needed an “upgrade”. She as the mandalorian she was established as was already good enough of a character. When the main live action series they have (Mando) barely features the force at all, it feels strange to turn characters force sensitive in order to give them highlight. Why?
But, for further clarification:
- I’m not against non force sensitives being trained in the Jedi arts (without the force). So meditation, specific fighting styles and the Jedi philosophy itself.
- I’m not against non force users using lightsabers. In fact I think it’s pretty cool. I loved it in rebels when Kanan tried to train Sabine.
- I don’t hate anything else about the Ahsoka show. In fact, I am positively ecstatic for season 2.

Hayden Christensen Reflects On The Star Wars Prequels: ‘Those Movies Have Held Up Well’ – Exclusive
Talk about pressure. There are few villains in cinema as iconic as Darth Vader – recognisable from the briefest glimpse of his distinctive helmet, or the merest mechanical hiss of his respirator. So when Hayden Christensen signed on to play Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels, he took on a formidable task: presenting the man behind the mask. Across Episode II – Attack Of The Clones and Episode III – Revenge Of The Sith, Christensen showed us how exactly how the galaxy’s brightest hope turned from the light and plunged into total darkness – and through that time, his own Star Wars experience was a mix of light and dark too. After weathering years of criticism, he’s now been wholeheartedly embraced by the fandom.
Speaking to Empire in a major new interview – and original photo shoot – for our 25th anniversary celebration of the prequel trilogy, Christensen opened up on his time in the galaxy far, far away. “It’s been a remarkable experience. And just a very heartwarming one,” he tells Empire. “The journey that I’ve been on with Star Wars over the last 20 plus years... it’s been a wild ride, and where we’re at now is really meaningful to me.” While the backlash against the prequels was difficult to take, he’s pleased to see how beloved all three films are today. “I think that those movies have held up well over time,” he says. “It feels like vindication for the work that we did. Everyone that worked on those movies thought that we were part of something special. We all wanted to do our very best work, and we cared a lot about it. And so to see the response from the fans now, it’s very cool.”
That response includes excitement from younger fans – who are always thrilled to meet the man who… well, murdered all the Jedi younglings in Revenge Of The Sith. “There was a lot of talk about us doing that scene, and I love that George did it. It was a bold move. And it’s shocking,” the actor says. “Kids seem to forget about that scene when they meet me! There’s not any fear or intimidation. They’re just excited to meet Anakin.”
Having ridden out the stormy reception to the prequels – and returned to the Star Wars galaxy in recent years for appearances in Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka – Christensen reflected on the advice that he would give to his younger self before stepping into Attack Of The Clones. “Even though I was a bit overwhelmed, I was also a confident young man, and I wanted to make my mark. But I guess if I were to have some advice for me during that general time in my life, it would be: ‘Patience’,” he decides. “Because my journey with the character and with Star Wars has at times been a bumpy one... but I’m in a good place with it now. And so that’s why I say patience.” In 2024, there’s undoubtedly balance to the Force.
Read Empire’s full Hayden Christensen interview – and see more images from the shoot – in the Star Wars prequels 25th anniversary issue. Also inside the magazine, we speak to Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Liam Neeson, Ian McDiarmid, Samuel L. Jackson, Brian Blessed, and more about starring in the films; we revisit iconic sequences with producer Rick McCallum, stunt co-ordinator Nick Gillard, and concept designer Iain McCaig, breaking down the Podrace, the Geonosis arena battle, and the Mustafar duel; we get a closer look at rarely-seen concept art from across the trilogy; we speak to designer Ellen Lee Moon on the story behind her legendary Phantom Menace poster, and much, much more. It’s the ultimate look back at the trilogy that changed everything.
