i did like the hidden palace but (SPOILER if anyone hasn't read it?) i'm genuinely so annoyed at how Arbeely is handled like... I wish i could be sad but i'm just fucking irritated. I was overly invested in him and that's def why but i just feel like they did him dirty

#the golem and the jinni #i was scrolling goodreads and the take i kept seeing was 'oh I wish Arbeely could've had his family too bad the jinni FUCKED IT UP'#but idk that's just not how i read him. like thats not where i feel the problem is #his whole shtick is being content as the jinni's foil and like! things can change! but the way it's done leaves him totally unresolved #which in turn means the jinni's shit is also never getting resolved because there is like no way to #when Arbeely describes his future family in the first book it's all 'someday... vaguely...' and AGAIN! what you want can change!#and honestly it's really interesting and sad that he makes this sacrifice for the jinni #but it's a layer of complexity that like clashes with how little he is there for and how little the author's invested in him #and like the way the no marriage literally did not ruin his life at all... sure it sucked but the man is still like idk rich #what has continuously fucked with him throughout both books is that he wants (or at least spends half his page time thinking about)#emotional connection to the jinni in a human way #which is something the jinni cant\wont give him even though he's basically Arbeely's only close friend #(besides ig maryam who was rlly funny hinting at her dislike for the jinni like someone trying to get their friend to dump their toxic bf)#anyway the vibe in the first book is that he only thinks about wanting a wife when the jinni is being a dickhead #BECAUSE the jinni eases arbeelys loneliness by just being there because at the end of the day that's what humans need #but then it's made really weird in the second book by Arbeely getting 'trapped' by the jinni (and yet they just grow further apart)#which means that the only thing arbeely actually spent half his life discontent with and then literally died without is not a wife #it's emotional intimacy with the jinni. which is insane to me #arbeely is obviously already tragic but this seems TOO tragic entirely because the book doesn't give af about addressing it #if it was like a plot thing then all of the above would be fine and gutwrenching because it ties back into the jinnis self isolation #BUT IT'S NOT. like i get arbeely isn't that important to the plot but he was important to the jinni and the jinni was important to him #alsoo necessarily disclaimer i'm not trying to say he's in love with the jinni or anything like that #although a queer arbeely (divorced from the above idea) would also been interesting cuz I dont think the jinni has a grasp on homophobia #so idk theyd be keeping each others secrets (arbeely x the biscuit man? JOKE)#BUTTTT! I don't believe he needs romantic energy! him and the jinni having awful vibes up until arbeely's literal death is what bothers me #The jinni is a bad communicator ik but come on... not once? not even before the diagnosis? a/n - this is my first time writing for the public so yk 😭 im open to suggestions 🫶🏾

it was an unusually slow day in the camp half-blood infirmary. not many demigods came in today so you being the nice cabin counselor you were decided to let the rest of your healer siblings have a day of training instead of medical care.

you were sitting back in a chair soaking in the natural light the windows let in when you heard the door open due to the chimes hanging from the doorframe.

you quickly opened your eyes to see none other than the clarisse la rue.

you see, to your average camper, clarisse was like a poison dart frog. everyone and i mean everyone knew not to piss her off. she was like your own personal hellhound just minus the fact that shes a demigod and hellhounds are dogs.

she looks around for you before she locks eyes with you and you smile at her.

"hello clair, to what do i owe the pleasure?"

she rolled her eyes. "speak normally please." you chuckled in response, gesturing her to sit on one of the beds.

"so what's the problem?"

"does there have to be a problem? can't a girl just want to see her girlfriend?"

you smile at her sweetness. "aww thats so-"

"don't ruin it."

you roll your eyes this time starting to walk over to her.

"y'know you're really sweet when you're passive."

she groans dismissively.

"okay grizzly bear," you get to her and place your hands on her shoulders looking down at her. "really, whats up?"

her head hangs low resting gently on your stomach. she resists the urge to completely rest herself on you.

you take your hand and press it to her forehead in an attempt to lift her head up but you're quick to notice the fiery warmth coming from her forehead.

"pretty bad fever you have here sweet girl."

she grumbles softly.

she lifts her head up and gently grabs your waist. her eyes almost look as if they're pleading.

you raise an eyebrow. "is there something you need?"

she scoffs and rolls her eyes. you know what she wants but you're not taking the attitude.

she grumbles something under her breath.

"what was that bubs? couldn't hear 'ya."

she sighs deeply. "can you -- can you kiss me?

you smile and sit on the bed next to her and kiss her lips gently.

she sighs as you kiss her, placing her hands on your waist once again gently kissing you as if if she were any rougher you'd crack.

other campers were always scared of clarisse but you weren't because they didn't know her like you did and she wouldn't ever love them like she did you.

PART 2 HYPERFIXATION FOR SMG4: Mario looks at SMG4's browser history

So it is true that SMG3 does torture SMG4's life by ruining his day(come back from the episode you used to be cool where smg3 said "usual")

Since the word "usual" is used from SMG3's statement after we learned from that episode where he "considered killing" him. Directly to smg4.

SPOILER...

Seems like SMG3 DOES love to put out a good show where he still makes smg4 suffer the most mildest things with apparent reasons of constant teasing for the man and Three just enjoys it.

(If SMG4 did things to ruin his life so badly, by smg4 doing so in purpose, then so should SMG3 WILL and would ruin his day back.)

Worst thing SMG3 would think of, is forgiving SMG4. Because why in hell would he do that after everything?

Not only... SMG3 hides behind his secret, and mentioning WOTFI 2021 where SMG3 said something along the lines with "try and make him cry" is and definitely puts on that SMG3 still concealed himself from his inner shell as his emotional break down to cover up the sensitive emotion he has.

And that it'd be so out of character and sudden to forgive smg4 just like that, he'd be in the usual doings of "Hell no f-cking way I'd do that just now, why would I forgive this assh-le for ruining my life?"

Because thats an emotional baggage for SMG3 to cope on, he livestreams himself on twitch to play random ass games for his stress relief because of him. SMG4 has been stuck with him for like- a decade now and this is sh-t ass ruining him

if you all shouldve noticed just now, smg4 hasnt apologized EVERYTHING to SMG3 yet. Because he wasn't sure how "emotions" and "actions" could play out from his character after he did those "assumable" things to break SMG3's dreams.

Thats simple. He's a very difficult man to comprehend with his own self thoughts, he's overwhelmed at himself to where it breaks him. If SMG3 is socially awkward to talking or making new friends, then so SMG4 is the one whos difficult to solve the problem with his causes (like saying sorry wasnt very easy for him to put out)

Cause all smg4 did was focus on his meme contents from doing what he loves, he broke three for being famous, and his cafe, with also his dreams on starting his own production, not to ALSO mention his damage to SMG3.

If smg3 would even still forgave him for doing all of that om purpose without even realizing. But to smg3, he didn't want to say he'll forgive SMG4 instead. He still recovers from each and everything from that.

Because he'd seen how fragile SMG4 is at this part. SMG4 could only rely with making his contents to get money off from youtube, to THEN paying the expenses for whatever waterbills, electricbills, his loans from the property he's paying for, foods from groceries.

Literally EVERYTHING.... he's been trying to provide and same this goes on with SMG3 where he started his coffee shop, the one who works two jobs as a twitch streamer and a cafe owner. (The reason why SMG3 gets money from thats how he could afford everything just by double timing his job)

Since smg4 doesnt know sh-t with jobs, SMG3 is up ahead him, smart enough to think. While SMG4's knowledge is a bit too unstable without any of his college experience since he didn't like school then he hates studying.

Studying helps you learn countless of things even tho its a hard challenge to try, you still need to learn either way to know bits of facts. SMG4 dropped out and didn't graduate from college, but did SMG3 continued college?

That remains unknown, but we do know for a fact he is twice as smarter than SMG4 and Mario. (God what a fabulous b-tch.)

The reason why college is important is that you can set a course of what you'd want to get a job you'd be capable of loving from. And knowing that SMG3 pays atleast too many stuff by marketing and selling or trading or who knows what from the internet to make him get that much of advantage to get enough money.

SMG3 improvised his skills to survive

And so if SMG4 could do the same he'd probably have the same braincells as his boyfriend/j

- (whoops I just realized that I moved the topic to college but eh-)

Anyway following on with our focused topic.

If SMG4 couldnt admit that he'd say sorry to SMG3, then there would be a constant loop of the friends not understanding each other.

I still have a feeling that SMG3 could almost understand, like he could see through what SMG4 has been feeling. But he couldnt show that emotion to four- it'd look WEIRD. for him. Better yet is that- SMG4 would most likely be the optimisstic one to show symapthy, but still- SMG3 is an empathetic man for SMG4.

Just so is SMG4 when he cant understand how his actions can cause consequences like smg3 for example, SMG3 didn't even do much damage to SMG4 after everything. Because what SMG3 thinks is that he- deserved it. Everything to him from what he had done to smg4- willl be always pointed at him as he only sees himself as the bad guy.

Like oh man- how assumable can smg4 be when smg3 gets something that he finally wishes to have for? Attention. And he's been the one saying "thats what we do for each other right?" When SMG4 did it his way while SMG3 has finally moved on. Like SMG4... I see you as the person who've been causing a lot by i mean ALOT. Of problems.

Four suffers because of this cause he never understands how relationships or just by general actions work, because he never had someone close to him to guide his way for understanding.

They both were literally born from a USB and then came down there to explore their new selves.

Not even once SMG4 thought about- "why did I do that to him? I should say sorry... If only I didnt destroy his cafe nor even his productions"

Its because FOUR WAS SO AFRAID. In repeat. Lets repeat this again.

Three cant forgive SMG4 because he's been having alot of thoughts from his head that would lead to the death of him.

And SMG4 cant apologize cause he's unaware of what would happen if he did. He would overthink about this... and better yet- Three's motions are unrecognizable so Four would keep on missing his chances if he'd want to say it. He wondered that if he told sorry to smg3, he'd be the one to blamed more and three would be more pissed. Because they both wanted to forget the past.

But the past is already apart of them, a memory they both went through together...

Work? Forget about it. He will ruin your resume so no one Will contact you, but thats fine. You can stay at home and play house wife while he works.

He wants you to relay only on him. Cry with him, laught with him, everything must be with him and just him.

♤ Tatta: submissive + manipulative

Did you really think Tatta Will just be your puppy and you his master? Yes Tatta Will let you do with him whatever you want and Will do whatever you ask him.

But he also does not want to be alone, so he will manipulate you with his innocense to keep you away from other people. That friend of yours who gets too close? Yeah he will play the victim card and make you feel bad so you will stop seeing them. He does not have a problem with your family (who loves him), its just....people in general who might get your interest.

♤ Banda Sunato: Eliminating + Manipulative

Forget about being subtle. Banda will kill your Friends, family, however its too close to you he Will make sure they never see the light of the day again.

And he will mock you and blame you because of it. Because you took his interes, because you are too pretty, because you are you.

His emotional manipulation Will go as far as show pics of your dead Friends and family, he then will hug you telling you how dumb you are and how you need someone to take care of you all the time and thats why he is here.

Is he an angel? No he is your personal devil who corrupts you in all the ways.

Forget about consexual sex or touch, the first time he took you by Force during the second night of your abduction, to mark you and make you see how weak you are. Will drug you on daily basis so he can have his way with you and touch you without you screaming at him.

Once you start to break down he will come as innocent and playfull so you start to trust him. You no longer try to scape, you obey the rules and you let him have sex with you whenever he wants.

♤ Karube: Manipulative

Karube wants you to himself but he also wants you to have a bit of life (maybe the less crazy of these).

Now the only people who he trust are Arisu and Chota, so he will kind of Force you to hang out with them. Forget about other male Friends, they are just bad and Karube will be sure to scare them off.

Karube will use alcohol on his favor to get you more careless, he will set you up with a drunk guy and when said drunk guy tries something Karube will appear and take care of it acting as your saviour.

While being drunk Karube Will use this time to get you on his lap, you will ask him what he is doing but he Will just say he is taking care of you. He will kiss you and if you resist then he will sweet talk his way on it.

You two may end together because Karube had sex with you while you were drunk and you cant remember if you gave your consent or not. Its not guilt what makes you end with him but how much he talks about being there for you all the time and how you alwyas had a crush on him (and thats true). Arisu and Chota Will also support Karube's words making you beliving them and ending with him.

Also, holy FUCK, was episode 4 massive for Charlie's character!

Yes, she REALLY needed that reality check about how bad the lives of the sinners are she tries to help, but it also lead to Charlie taking her proper role for a solid second when she get angry at Valentino.

It's quite obvious to me that Vaggie will be the one to actually run the hotel, so it's Charlie's job to not only use her unique position as princess of hell to deal with heaven for her people's sake, she's also supposed to be protective mighty force her guests can find the save haven in they desperately need to escape their circumstances.

When any of their powerful abusers dare to enter the hotel it's HER job to put them in their place and away from their victims.

Her place isn't running the hotel, SHE'S supposed to be the hotel's and people's protector, and I'm so fucking hyped to see her growing into that role. To see her rip open that portal between hell and heaven for good to free her people herself if she fucking has to.

But episode 4 is also so important for Charlie because it showed us just how massive of a toll it took on her that her mother just up and left 7 years ago, and we were already told that Lucifer ain't the dad of the year either.

Angel forgiving her at the end of the episode meant so much to her because she feared so fucking badly that she ruined everything, he would hate her and leave forever, into a life she would have had had a hand in making worse.

Obviously she has massive abandonment issues and as Husker correctly stated: she's a bleeding heart who wants to solve everyone's problems except her own.

And she does that because very clearly she was highly neglected by her parents in her emotional needs, even if I don't put into question at all that they love her.

She desperately tries to help and find in others what she didn't get from her parents, to get a group of people she can finally trust and who won't abandone her, so she tries everything she can to solve everyone else's problems because that way she thinks she will "earn" being worthy of being loved and not abandoned.

So when she just showed up at Angel's work place to talk to Valentino without checking with Angel beforehand what she has to do to NOT cause him hell, and caused an absolute fucking disaster HE had to pay the whole price for and NOT her because of her privilege and immunity as Princess of Hell, that was literally one of the worst things for her she could have caused.

It hit all her insecurities in the worst ways possible. And I'm so glad that they had Angel say "thank you for caring about me" and not "thank you for trying" because that's not the same and what Charlie needed was indeed the former.

She really desperately needed to hear from him that the reason why he forgives her is that he understands that she did all of this because she CARES for him. That his reason for forgiving her has nothing to do with him prioritized anything else she can GIVE or provide over seeing HER.

Mind you, of course this whole disaster she caused can't be justified and it has no business ever happening again to such horrific degrees, she NEEDS to work through her own problems ASAP because the people who depend on her as the privileged and basically untouchable person in power who promised them protection can't continue paying the price for her actions

But this is a fictional story, so I'm talking about the narrative when I say that both Charlie's and Angel's characters needed this to happen for their development.

Just, good fucking God, let this have been the peak of Charlie's naivety and the incident she needed to start healing a deep scar in her heart. I love Charlie to pieces, please give us the pay-off now from the emotional development and what she learned by now so she can grow into the mighty mama bear she is meant to be without her unintentionally continuously hurting her adopted hurt cubs.

Because thats a factor I can't and won't ever ignore in her type of (main) character and in her leader role and privileged position/ status in all of this.

Fingers crossed, cause I'm so fucking ready to love this sweet broken girl with the heart of a lion, with every inch of my being.

I have my problems with the hidden world, like many others. And i just want to gather all my thoughts in one place here because i feel like many agree that the ending itself isnt the problem, but how they did it. For me, personally, they ruined it with the reactions to the dragons leaving. Specifically, the reactions of the dragons.

First, we have Meatlug, who in the past has been shown thay merely HEARING FISHLEGS' VOICE causes her to become overwhelmed with excitement. (RTTE S2E9)

And yet here, she looks like this:

Like?? Not even a frown when she's leaving Fishlegs, who is clearly her favourite person in the world (literally watch ANY HTTYD media and this is made abundantly clear).

Moving on, we have Barf and Belch. Now it can be said that the twins and their dragon don't really have as many emotional dragon-rider moments as the others, but it is still clear that Barf and Belch love their riders. Except here:

The twins look DEVASTATED, meanwhile they (sorry belch is cropped here I couldnt get a ss with both in it) hardly look sad. Barf at least looks a little upset but still, its borderline.

And moving on, to perhaps what angers me the most, Snotlout & Hookfang. These two are easily my fav dragon-rider duo/team, and for many reasons.

Very quickly, allow me to take you back to RTTE S1E13, in which Hookfang goes out of his way to protect "Girl-Hookfang" and her eggs from a Titanwing Monsterous Nightmare when she sends out what Hiccup describes as a "distress signal".

When Snotlout tells Hookfang to choose between him and the dragon, he ultimately chooses defending her. But at the prospect of leaving Snotlout, he looks LIKE THIS:

He looked MISERABLE and even made sad little dragon noises (idk how to describe them im sorry). So,

TELL ME WHY

IN THE HIDDEN WORLD

HE LOOKS LIKE THIS

SNOTLOUT LOOKS LIKE HES LISTENED TO AN ENTIRE MITSKI ALBUM, BROS FUCKING SOBBING SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP.

And Hookfang hardly even looks at him, just kinda gives him a sideways glance. Like

HELLO???! And ONE OF THESE had a lower budget as a TV show AND a lower quality model (which, unrelated, ive seen some people really dislike but I think the show models are great!)

The only one to act somewhat appropriately is Toothless, who warbles and makes his little dragon noises at Hiccup, almost talking with him, they have their big heartfelt moment and their cute hug before he leaves. Because of course they get it, its Hiccup and Toothless.

And yeah i get it that clearly the dragons are sick and tired of hunters and therefore understand the need to leave. But they dont even look sad! Breaks my heart because after three movies, two tv shows and all the specials of the dragons and riders bonding and caring for each other and they don't even get a heartfelt goodbye.

And let us not forget that Snotlout, Fishlegs and the twins, who have been riders since the FIRST MOVIE, and main characters in their own right for years, don't even get a GOODBYE LINE?? LIKE LITERALLY, Astrid and Valka? Absolutely, they deserve it. Gobber? Sure, he hasn't known grump nearly as long but he's been a relevant and important main character as long as the kids. And Eret-

“no- hear me out, babe!” eddie tried to spin around and respond before you stopped him, quickly positioning his slender body back forwards. him, being the drama queen that could never make the lead in a play that he is, started to complain before you popped the side of his head.

“hey! what was that one for?!” he exclaimed in a whiny tone, reaching up to sooth the spot you'd hit with the comb. you kissed your teeth before moving his hand out of the way and resuming your section.

“i know damn well i told you to stop moving,” you said while coming through a knot, hushing eddie before he even started his whining mess. “maybe if you would sit and be still we wouldn't have this problem.”

“you wound me, princess.” he said while tutting his bottom lip out, mocking a pout. he knew you weren't genuinely mad, but messing with you was always fun. even if he got his ass beat. “i thought my girl was supposed to treat me rig– ow!” he was cut off by a particularly harsh yank from another knot.

“that’s whatcha’ ass gets,” you replied with a snicker, trying not to laugh too hard at the poor boy. “after all, you agreed to let me do your hair. since you wanna be all nosy bout' ‘how i do this’ and ‘what that product over there is for.’ whenever i have the patience to do mine.”

you gestured all over the place with your comb as you went on about his questions and concerns, though, you noticed he didn't reply with the usual "you love it, anyway," or another snarky remark that made you love him impossibly more.

he instead opted to look up at you from his spot between your legs, gazing at you with nothing but pure adoration and love in his softened eyes. his calloused, overworked hands reached up to rub at the skin of your thighs gently, sighing as he embraced the feeling of your skin.

“i love you, baby. s’much. even if you're mea-- OW!"

━━━ STEVE HARRINGTON (pb. joe keery.)

“okay, babe! you don't have to yank it like that—” steve exclaimed, gripping onto the bathroom counter as to not fall off of the stool he was perched on.

you couldn't help but cackle at his reflection in the mirror, head being yanked back by the wig cap you were trying to shove his thick mop of hair under.

“it's not my fault you got a big ass head! jus’ hold still so i can get it all up under there,” you barely got the sentence out without bursting out in laughter at your boy, a small smile catching on his face at your humor.

he eventually smacked your hands away and started to fix his hair underneath the cap by himself, insisting that you were gonna 'ruin his wave pattern.'

“i’m never losing a bet with robin again,” he murmured after you finished adjusting the cap around his head, noticing how much he actually needed his precious bangs. “especially if you’re in on it.”

you gave a shocked gasp and lightly slapped the back of his neck. “i’m being paid good money for this, so lose as many bets as you have to.” you continued while brushing out the pale blonde wig robin picked out for him.

you placed it on his head and tugged it around, causing him to grip onto the countertop again. you fussed with it until it looked decent enough, busting out into giggles at steve’s expression in the mirror.

“babe-- you didn't even do it right! give me this brush, you ain’t finna have me lookin’ all crazy like this–” he exuded sass while snatching the brush from your manicured hands and getting to work fixing up the hair.

all you could do was laugh while he frantically fixed some flyaway pieces and tried to messily give himself a middle part with his fingers, getting frustrated when it wouldn't come out jussttt right.

"there. now can i have those swirly hairs you do on your forehead? or a swoop? my forehead is not doing me any good right now," he asked while handing you back the brush, motioning what kind of baby hairs he wanted with his fingers.

man, was this boy a piece of work.

━━━ BILLY HARGROVE (pb. dacre montgomery.)

“ma, didn't i just tell you to sit down?” billy huffed while walking into the room, seeing you up and off your floor pillow.

you froze like a deer in headlights, followed quickly by max. you both had decided it would be a great idea to have a quick dance session to the smiths before billy got back, which had obviously been cut even shorter.

you both quickly returned to your respective spots on the floor with the most innocent looks you could muster. the silent energy of the room became too much for both you and max, causing you to look over at each other and laugh your asses off at billy’s ‘i’m not mad, just disappointed.’ posture.

he huffed and shook his head before walking over to the couch, muttering a "always gotta be so damn difficult," before placing the basket of hair products he kept at his place beside him. he tapped the cushion between his legs, letting you know to scoot back. you dragged max back with you, making the girl giggle.

“i really don't know why you both decide to test every nerve i have at every given chance, yet here we are.” he started to fuss at the both of you, snatching your bonnet off, earning him a "hey!" along with a slap on the thigh. you heard max chortle from in front of you before you snatched her matching cap off, making her stop and snatch it back.

“first of all, you can't even say allat! you get on our nerves all the time. shut that tone down before we really get to it, sir.” you snapped back at billy, max following with a “yeah! it’s not our problem that you decide to be a fun vampire every time we do something,”

he smirked to himself and replied with a hushed “be quiet and keep your head straight, an' watch that damn attitude.” before repositioning your bobbing head, getting into the first braid of many. you obeyed and started your own work on max's hair.

he gripped every thought and prayer you had in your scalp, making sure these braids were gonna stay in for the month. if you said it didn't hurt, you'd be a damn horrendous liar. you focus on giving max french braids, as to have something to stop you from tearing up at billy's technique.

it was quiet from that point on, minus the soft rhythm of ‘how soon is now?’ playing from the radio in the corner of the room. not that he would ever admit it, but billy loved these days. days where it was just the three of you in the house, all together, surrounded by nothing but love. the domestic feeling sent a feeling of warmth to his heart.

with you two, his unsavory household became a safe home.

homestucks are some of the worst because of how ridiculously conflict averse they are to the point of clutching their pearls the MOMENT anything even SLIGHTLY not good threatens to happen to their blorbo

not only can so many of them not handle actual conflict in their own lives theyre so afraid of any kind of conflict at all that they see anything bad happening to their favorite characters as just bad writing

so they spend their time coming up with shitty fluff fics where nothing bad ever happens between the characters they like and all potential conflicts are solved by everyone using therapyspeak at each other as the authors use the characters as little more than hollow mouthpieces for them to soapbox thru towards the kinds of people they think are "bad" and "wrong" (most often this equals anyone who even remotely resembles vriska)

and like on some level i get it. especially when youve gone thru years of abuse conflict aversion can become your safety mechanism. you try as hard as you can to avoid any conflicts happening because conflicts usually mean more abuse. but thats not ALL conflict means.

we thrive on conflict. were all different from each other. we all have different wants and needs and desires and dreams and sometimes these will come into conflict with others and THATS OK. THATS NORMAL. THATS GOOD. the problem isnt the conflict, the problem is in the resolution of it.

resolving conflicts in a healthy way (that may sometimes involve getting upset with each other and arguing!) helps us to grow closer to each other and helps forge connections and regularly trying to avoid conflict will only end up hurting those connections if not outright breaking them. ive been thru multiple relationships where deep amounts of conflict aversion on their parts made me feel small and broken and worthless because if anything DID ever happen between us it was always ignored and whatever hurt may have been there was allowed to just fester instead of being heard, to the point of ending in nasty breakups that still harbor plenty of resentment.

all of this to say your shitty fic where nothing bad ever happens to your blorbos is at best uninteresting and at worst promoting ever more dangerous levels of conflict aversion that might be ruining your relationships. am i gonna tell you to stop writing that way? no. write however you want. but just as youre allowed to write about it im allowed to bitch about it.

also high key stories and narratives revolve around conflict. like if you dont have some kind of conflict then you dont really have much of a story. even something as simple as "two characters misunderstand each others feelings and keep self sacrificing for the others sake only to realize thats what they were doing and that they dont have to keep hurting themselves" is conflict. it doesnt have to be massive earth shattering world ending conflict. just let the characters have trouble with each other and let them come to a resolution about it. and not just therapyspeak at each other either thats fucking lame and amounts to little more than soapboxing.

Once more it's just other shippers trying to take a stab at BkDks and for what? Because they can't let it go. They're just bored and can't help but be asses.

For one, a lot of BkDks I have seen NEVER said Iida is boring or that irrelevant in any way. When it comes to other characters, I have seen a lot of BkDks defend them, Iida being one, Uraraka being another.

Hell, ask a BkDk who their favorite female character and most likely you'll get Ochaco Uraraka aka Uravity as an answer

No one is upset that it wasn't Bakugou that held Midoriya's hand in the opening. We're upset because once more Uraraka is just being used to fuel that role that it seems she's being forced into, which she doesn't deserve. She doesn't deserve to be a girl who only seemed to have Deku on her mind. A lot of her actions aren't even influenced by him and it sucks that others don't get that. On top of that, Iida, who a lot of us love, myself included, hated seeing his big moment taken away like that.

That's what it's more about. When that chapter came out that the opening is alluding to, no BkDk shipper I saw get upset. Why?

Because Iida is another good friend of Midoriya’s, he's also a great character on his own and it was nice seeing him getting the spotlight in that moment. It's like with Kirishima, BkDks like Kirishima because he is also a great character. He just happens to be a friend of Bakugou's. Do BkDks hate that? No!

Also BkDks and Bakugou fans aren't asking for anti Bakugous to "forgive" Bakugou. No one cares how they feel about Bakugou.

At most, what is being asked is not being so annoying about it and leave that space alone that does like his character. They're constantly the same ones sending threats, purposely tagging their anti posts wrong, commenting under fics, reblogging posts, etc. Like hate Bakugou, that's your preference and no one is forcing for a change of heart.

But how in the fuck (excuse my language) are antis going to throw the "Bakugou is a bully" card (mind you, who at the end of the day is a fictional teenager) yet do trolling and bullying REAL PEOPLE?

And!

The anime actually CAN'T be inaccurate as possible because all it's doing is ruining what Horikoshi and his team has worked on in the manga. It's why it's highly encouraged to read the manga.

I'm not surprised an IzuOcha shipper said that because guess what the anime is doing? Making IzuOcha seem more important when there's other things they should be highlighting like Iida's importance. If anyone is easy to read it's some of them.

BkDk shippers love BkDk, yeah, but most I have seen are always excited for the other characters, analyzing scenes about other characters and themes, hell, some are even multishippers so they do like other Bakugou and Midoriya ships.

Honestly, BkDks and Bakugou fans are probably the sets of people that seem to actually care about the story as a whole the most.

Ashido got a scene cut? A BkDk shipper will point it out. Shigaraki didn't say that in the manga and it's out of character? Oh, look that Bakugou fan caught it! Uraraka being reduced to nothing more than a girl with a crush despite having other great qualities that should be highlighted on? BkDks and Bakugou fans are ENRAGED.

Overall, to summarize this (it is long and I apologize for that, I ramble) BkDks in general don't care that it should have been Bakugou who held Midoriya's hand, I know I don't. We care about Iida's and Bakugou's significance to one of the darkest times in Midoriya's life. We care that Uraraka is also treated with care as she should be. If the opening wanted to have an IzuOcha moment, they could have! Just why make it the moment that should have gone to the characters that was important in that vital moment? They've been doing original scenes and whatnot forever, why stop now? Why take something away from other characters that are just as important as the protagonist and main girl character?

You are partially correct. But some people seem to think that their dissatisfaction with something means that the author is horrible and should change the story because some fan didnt like it.

It IS entitlement. People DO need to learn that if an author wanted something to happen in a story that the fan didnt like then thats okay and is not entirely indicative of poor writing.

People need to learn to enjoy stuff as it is or just put it down. Because honestly most "critical analysis" stuff on popular kids and young adult media is just done by youtubers who got A+++ all throughout highschool in language arts and really only do it for clout. To stir up drama and act like their word is law.

I wont claim to be nearly as smart or well articulated as those people, but sometimes people need to stop looking for problems with people writing choices.

Im honestly more worried about localizers ruining translations for animes, or the fact that most books allowed in school libraries is decided by a small ( like a couble dozen i think... I also wanna say 40 but im not sure) amount of people with a hate boner for reading and too much time on their hands. Like... Seriously can we talk about that more than whether character a ends up with character b, writing community?

There are bigger issues than a fan not liking an authors writing and ive seen people make hating something their entire personality. In real life. Its just sad

You can be disappointed with how a story ended but really it should stop there unless the author really want criticism. Just find something else to enjoy if you cant enjoy what something is for what it is and the good. Theres no shame in not enjoying it, but theres also no need to harrass authors about it either. And that happens alot more to small authors.

I will say though there are some big time creators who really refuse to understand that their writing isnt perfect or at the quality it should be for how big it is. And many of them lash out at fans. This is also not okay. But honestly /my/ biggest criticism for creators like this is if they make stuff for children and then give them lower quality mind numbing content. Kill as many characters as you like or make the main character a mary sue i dont care but if you are going to make something professionally it should at least be written professionally. But thats why i dont watch kids shows anymore. I prefer to focus on what i enjoy.

oooo good question!

jasper, imo, is a very good portrayal of an abuser. she's so realistic, dude. she isn't evil, mustache twirling. she's a person who's abusive and THATS what makes her relationship with lazuli gutwrenching. because it's something you'd see in real life. it's not black and white. it's two deeply fucked up and traumatized people hurting each other. it's not good vs evil. it's two people who are horrible for each other.

jasper is just. extremely realistic to me. she's someone who hurts people around her to make them stay, to make them look at her and admit that she's strong. she needs constant external validation because nothing fills that void in her life of someone treating her better. she hurts everyone and then is crushed by them leaving. she's so interesting because she NEEDS people near her but shes the one shoving them out. she's the one constantly hurting them and they leave to get away from being mistreated. it's. she has so much pressure and experiences so much constant mistreatment and she's convinced it's what makes her strong, it's what makes her special. to admit she's hurting would be to be weak. she convinces herself anyone leaving is a sign of weakness. it's not because of *her*, it's not because what she's like is bad. because admitting how she treats people is wrong is admitting how SHE was treated is wrong. and she can't do that. she can't handle reevaluating her entire identity being the next battle and the next fight and how much pain she can take. she can't let herself even consider changing, because that means admitting she was miserable. and only a weak gem would hate how they're supposed to be.

she's a victim and an abuser, those things aren't mutually exclusive and I wish people wouldn't act like they were. she was hurt so fucking badly, and she also hurt so many people so fucking badly.

her "everyone I fuse with leaves me" was haunting, man. it's, again, a very accurate depiction of an abuser who was caught in the cycle. you want to grab her and shake her and say, stop you're hurting yourself you're ruining your own life. but she refuses to see it and she refuses to get better and it. hurts to watch.

I see her as a cautionary tale. nobody can force you to change. YOU have to look at yourself and ask if you're the problem. YOU have to look at how you treat others before you scream that they left you. YOU have to look at your life and ask, is this what I want?

she's a cautionary tale and works well as one.

there is one thing I don't really like and that's how her being shattered was handled? her being shattered completely and then some how brought back was. Cheap, ngl. although her reaction to being shattered was. fucking terrifying. obviously from stevens point of view but also it's just so fucking telling about her mental state. she romanticized being shattered. she romanticized the thought of dying gloriously in battle. she respected steven for shattering her. it's just. fucking *horrifying.* did she WANT to be shattered? holy shit, is jasper suicidal ? the implications are. Awful. I don't want her to be around the others because she keeps hurting them but at the same time I'm going "someone fucking HELP her!" but she doesn't WANT help and it's. it's fucking hard to watch. she's so set on her own destruction and it's physically painful. she can't get better until *she* decides she wants to. that's the only way her pains going to stop.

I also don't like the way steven shattered her. I wish it was portrayed more how his thoughts of shattering white was. his anger, his trauma towards her, his hatred of how much pain she gave him and the fact he's just supposed to be FINE with it now. shattering jasper, though it told us a lot about her, ultimately felt repetitive? because I mean, we already get steven's urge to shatter white. and it's handled a little better. maybe steven going too far and severely damaging jaspers gem and her still being impressed to make the audience go "jasper wtf are you good" and "OH SHIT STEVEN" at the same time, while also adding more weight to his anger at white diamond,, I dunno, this is my scattered ramblings.

I get why some people wanted a redemption arc for jasper. I don't think there was enough time to make a satisfying one. I do think she could potentially heal still, but she HAS to realize it herself. everyone keeps trying to give her tools to heal, she refuses to take them. she has to start working on herself. I'm not against a jasper redemption whatsoever, hell I think if done right it could be good.

a thing I do want to say though, FUCK the idea of her getting back with lapis. they are *horrible* for each other. and I mean this both ways. both of them hurt and traumatized each other. lapis was miserable with her and *jasper was too.* they both can heal but they need to do that completely separately thank you very much.

confession, I have an OC named jasper so I was VERY confused by this ask at first. was about to write a five page essay on him. oops 😭 I have to refer to this jasper as jasper (gem) with my friends. which is also hard considering a nickname for jasper (OC) IS gem. and ironically in the steven universe au me and one friend are working on, jasper (oc) is a pearl, not a jasper, and it's. Yeah! we are so good at this.

It really saddens me that Helluva started off like it was gonna be an eat the rich story only for it to go "but rich people are people too~" which yeah, sure we're all human at the end of the day but most of the worlds problems right now is caused by people who do have money because the sad truth is: the more money you have the more power you have. Even those who don't abuse their power are still privileged and likely to turn a blind eye to those who aren't from money.

Don't get me started with Striker they did my boy dirty! He could have been such an interesting villain/antagonist to explore a system that did him and others dirty (I want to know this guy's backstory so bad) to the point that he decided to make a living killing the people who ruined his and others life. Hey, maybe he sees how Stella is treated by her brother and the ars gothia in general being forced in a marriage and to carry a child she never wanted (even if she does love her daughter in the end). Maybe he becomes protective of Octavia when Andre wants to marry her off and force her to live through what Stella did. We see how Hell's hierarchy not only hurts those who live under the Royal's boots but we see how it hurts those within it as well. Granted this would only work if Stella was a nuanced character and we know how much Viv loves nuance /scarsam.

Srsly stop making me send in ask and get sad about the show we could have gotten supposed to the one we did...

It’s, the rich really are superior, better people than their subjects. Their lives hold more value, trying to kill royalty is offensive but killing lower classes is just another workday. Through the power of secret kinky bdsm and singing with lower classes, royalty can change and become better people!! Without having to make any changes to the status quo or how they treat others of their lovers class, of course.

Evil women, gays, and working class in organised crime, who want to survive through money, alimony, and stealing, are the real villains. They just need to pick themselves up by the bootstraps, if they don’t love the rich and question the love lives of the rich, they’re deeply evil and should be killed.

I’ve said before how it’s obvious that the Goetia family is Patriarchal. But the showrunner is such an “anti misandry” “women are the root of evil” proponent I can’t tell if thats on purpose and fine with her.

In the Goetia family, only the males get official demonic names. The men hold all the decision making power, and women are only there to pass on magical genes. Stella had to pretend to want to be with stolas, but for some reason he didn’t have to pretend. She was moved to his home and had to leave after he cheated, and his daughter is another unwilling passenger in the stolas sitcom. Marriage is another unusual thing in this show, because we never find out the women’s maiden names

Stolas, his once off appearing father, his irrelevant brother and law, all get official titles present in real world demonology. BUT not his wife and not his daughter, who are the key players in his “unprompted melodrama” of an emotional arc.

If there's one thing i don't like about this fandom it's how much they make the kids more meaner? Villainizing? Than they actually are. Don't get me wrong, they have done a lot of bad but like these characters are FRIENDS. They do genuinely care about eachother in the end they aren't cold hearted and revel in other's suffering, they aren't Caliborn or Vriska afterall. I think they read the comic wrong, the kids were willing to sacrifice their own lives for eachother, a prime example of this was Daves conversation with doomed Rose. I blame the spaceship meteor part of the story for ruining the characters. Like everyone acted so ooc? Why were Jade and Davesprite giving John such a hard time about his dad die dying? Both of them literally had to watch their guardians die in front of them, you'd think they'd be the most sympathetic here? Or how Dave and Karkat, characters who will go through lengths to protect their friends just fucking stand there as everyone else tears themselves or eachother apart? Karkat is an ass yes but this was the same guy who was crying his heart out when he saw Solluxs dead body when in game or how he told Aradia bot that he would've tried to get her back to life if it weren't for other circumstances. Why was everyone being so uncaring at this part? It didn't feel right. The alpha kids got it the WORST, from bad writing to fandom treatment. I remember back in the day seeing stuff where Dirk was just down right mean to Jane "hahaha sucks to be you Jake is mine fat bitch". There was even a little bit of this aggressiveness in House of Dirk, now i do find that story fun but the small part where he calls Jane "xenophobic", bothered me. Like he would NOT say that to her. Have you seen how he speaks to her? "If you ever need help, Jane. If you're ever in any trouble at all. Let me know. Just say the word." Same guy who built a robot to protect her life and pretty much wrote an entire book for her, i think Dirk cares about Jane guys. This fandom and comic is so mean to Jane, as funny as i thought it was that Caliborn called her a fat fucking pig and cow, she really just became a punching box at that point. They'll shit on her because she's a woman getting in the way of the gay men. The ONLY thing people get from her as a character is that she's fat, because Caliborn said so along with a bunch of other things. Jake, poor Jake, gets sexualized by everyone he knows and had to burn his Grandmothers body right in front of him. But according to fans HE'S the asshole here because he cant communicate properly. Gee i wonder why. Roxy gets put on a fucking pedestal by the comic and fans, super extra special treatment. Ignore how she sexually harasses Dirk or almost killed Jane, no she's incapable of doing wrong, isn't that right Calliope? Yes, Roxy should be the new leader AND kill the Condescension yes. Now i never finished reading the epilogues because why would i? I'm probably missing a lot if we're taking them into consideration but not taking it into consideration because my point still stands because thats how the fandom treated them even before those came out. And even when talking about the base comic i still see those attitudes.

These characters DO have their personal problems but when people talk about they insert angst where it doesn't exist for favor of projection and i hate how common its become.

If people claim it is just cynicism that comes with growing up, there's clearly a difference between being cynicism, nihilism, and being a straight up asshole. If people say it is Dave and Karkat's depression is the reason why they stand around doing nothing as Rose becomes alcoholic and Terezi gets abused by Gamzee, it's sure strange they got over their depression right as VRISKA comes in to solve everything and those two bastards act like nothing had happened. Everything by Act 6 and Post Retcon just made all the characters worse. They have become an empty shell of who they used to be. The bleak outlook has become a theme for current Homestuck. It's been like this for Epilogues and Homestuck^2 too. I don't know if James Roach and HICU can really save the franchise and get out of all the characters having this negative light. Andrew Hussie and WhatPumpkin has shoved this jaded feeling right in the audience's faces that it's become the norm to expect the worse. Readers expect characters being assholes and more depression, they will receive it because Hussie and WhatPumpkin made it so.

About Archons;

*Be careful for the spoilers for Dendro and Electro Archon and Others*

I found the concept of archons such as wisdom, eternity etc and the way its presented in story, pretty interesting.

For example, you would think Sumeru is wisdom of city so their people would be full of wisdom but then, thats not case really. Actually, it looks opposite of wisdom, here.

Apperantly, adults in Sumeru cant dream because they believe dreams or false hope might ruin their ability to think logically. Even though;

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” (Albert Einstein.)

And people of Sumeru tend to not think by theirselves because they believes Akasha group will think for them anyway.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” (Albert Einstein).

Even though, intelligence and wisdom is all about imagination and thinking things for yourself to the point not just questioning other people’s beliefs but also your own beliefs too.

So its not surprising that Dendro archon is associate with the power to make people dream things. Because imagination is important concept for wisdom. (Btw, i kinda feel sorry for Lesser Lord Kusanali, she deserves better.).

Also i like the legend about the man who looks for Dendro Archon, he looks for the wisdom and wants Archon to tell him to solve his problems but then, eventually he finds the answer by himself,

“I do not teach anyone. I only provide the environment in which they can learn” (Albert Einstein)

With the effort of his journey. You dont need someone to tell you all answers, you can find the answer too in right environment. Because power of wisdom is always with you.

This also reminds me of Ei’s storyline. Ei is a character who really reminds me of Sohma Akito from Fruits Basket since their storyline seems similar but its presented better in here.

As Eternity Archon, her idea of eternity was things should always be the same, never change, eternity but later, we learn that thats not the case besides her Ei’s journey. First Electro Archon shows that eternity is ‘Eternity extends time into infinity. Dream illuminate each moment within’ that actually, eternity is not things never changing, things are always changing but all that change, every moment that happens is eternity by itself by its existence. Its just very ironic.

Just like the Cryo Archon who is kind,warm but also become cold like cryo/snow and who also symbolise peace and thats all she wants but she brings war to the world or maybe, she is fighting against the problem that already existed.

Anyway, i really enjoy especially those parts of stories and its really interesting to think about it.
