When I found you on the deserted island, do you think it was a coincidence? No. How could it have been a coincidence? I know you tried your best to look for me. After I went missing, I also know you smashed all the water tanks. I know you went to the ocean and worried about me. I also know you asked Ranjoo-unnie for help. I also know you waited for me at Seoul Station. And you searched all the deserted islands to find me. I know all about it. You tried so hard. So how could it have been a coincidence? It was fate.

✧ but if you hold me without hurting me, you'll be the first who ever did ✧
We finally parked in front of Joe's beach house after a tense few minutes in the van. Dave and Cliff had been throwing indirect jabs at each other the entire trip, and while I felt mortified about it, Lars and Leanne seemed to be having a lot of fun with the situation. I let out a sigh as I got out of the van, feeling a mix of excitement and relief. Finally, we could focus on celebrating Cliff's birthday and let the tension fade away.
"Party time!" Lars exclaimed as he stepped out of the van, taking a deep breath and wearing a satisfied grin as he headed towards the gate of the house.
"Don't even think about dodging the beer unloading duty," James warned him with a serious look. "Nore and I carried everything ourselves on the way here, so now you and Dave have to lend a hand too."
"Hey, what about Cliff?" Lars protested, and James furrowed his brow.
"It's his birthday, you dork."
"So, he's off the hook?"
"Well, yeah. Besides, someone has to call Joe and let him know we've arrived."
The guys unloaded the van with all the beer crates while Cliff and Leanne went to fetch Joe and get him to open the garage for us to park. I just stood there, watching, as James and Dave wouldn't let me lift a single can. They said I'd already done my part carrying the van earlier. Well, I wasn't about to argue with that. Better for me, I guess.
Finally, Joe showed up and opened the garage so we could park the van. We all made our way into the house. Joe was this tall, lanky dude, almost as tall as Cliff, with long blond hair flowing down his shoulders in waves. He greeted Leanne and the guys, then turned his attention to me.
"Hey, I don't think I know you," he said with a smile.
"Joe, this is Nore. She's Cliff's cousin," Leanne introduced me. "Nore, this is Joe, he's a friend from college."
"Ah, you're the one Mustaine can't stop talking about, huh?" he chuckled, and I couldn't help but blush. Dave shot him a look, looking a bit annoyed. Joe shook my hand. "Nice to meet you, Nore."
"Nice to meet you too, Joe," I smiled.
"You guys got here early. The rest of the gang hasn't arrived yet. C'mon, let's head to the backyard!"
He led us to the backyard, a cool spot with a big pool and a lawn where they had set up some tables. A low fence surrounded it, overlooking the beachfront street. From there, we could see the strip of sand, hear the waves crashing and smell the ocean’s scent. But that's not exactly what grabbed our attention; we wasted no time grabbing some beers and cracking them open as more people arrived for the party.
Before we knew it, the place was packed. I have to admit, I was surprised. I didn't realize Cliff knew so many people that I didn't recognize. At some point, I ended up splitting from the guys, but I had Leanne to keep me company. It turned out she had invited some friends from college because I got introduced to about 10 different people who were studying with her. Someone brought a sound system, and music filled the air. The drinks kept flowing, and I soon started feeling a bit lightheaded since they never let me have an empty cup.
'Found you!' a voice called out to me, and I turned to find Dave beaming at me. James stood next to him, shirtless and completely soaked , which probably meant he had just come out of the pool. I blinked, surprised, as they approached and Dave grabbed my hand. 'C'mon, it's about to start.'
'What's about to start?' I chuckled as he led me to a table by the pool. There were two full beer bottles at the table and one person standing in front of each: Lars and some other guy I didn’t know. Joe, the host, was between them, wearing a big smile on his face. A bunch of people had gathered around the table, forming a big circle, and they all seemed excited. I had no clue what was going on, but I watched curiously.
“Alright! You've placed your bets,” Joe began addressing the crowd. People clapped and cheered in anticipation. He grinned even wider. “Now it's time to find out: who takes the crown in the beer race!”
“Beer race?” I turned to Dave, laughing. “What the heck is that?”
“Whoever chugs their brew the fastest wins,” he grinned with excitement.
“We're betting on the winner. If Lars manages to snag the victory, we'll pocket some cash,” James chimed in, chuckling. I laughed too, dumbfounded; I couldn't decide if it was awesome, ridiculous, or both at the same time.
“On one side!” Joe yelled, pointing to the dude standing right in front of Lars. “Him, the reigning champ for the eighth time. Straight from the University of San Francisco: Daniel "Alkoholizer" Reeds!”
Most people clapped and cheered, hyping him up. Daniel took a bow with a laugh. He already seemed pretty drunk. Dave and James booed loudly.
“On the other…” Joe continued. “The fearless challenger, the drummer from the hot new underground sensation of San Francisco: Lars Ulrich!”
Some people clapped, and I joined them as Dave and James hollered at Lars, cheering him on.
“Alright!” Joe exclaimed, pumped up. “Let's get this show on the road. On your marks... One... Two... Three... Go!”
Lars and the other guy, Daniel, swiftly grabbed their beer bottles and started drinking. My mouth dropped open in surprise at the lightning-fast pace Daniel was chugging; Lars didn't stand a chance. Daniel finished in a flash, slamming the bottle on the table with a triumphant grin before collapsing to the ground. The crowd erupted in applause and cheers, ecstatic with the result.
'Dammit!' Lars shouted, pissed off, slamming his half-empty bottle on the table.
“Daniel just won for the ninth damn time today!” Joe exclaimed amid the guests' excitement. “He's unstoppable, folks. And…” he grinned mischievously at Lars. “You know what happens to the loser, right?”
Lars grumbled, clearly unhappy with his fate.
“Straight into the pool!” Joe yelled, as two guests grabbed Lars, one by the arms and another by the legs. “Give this Danish guy a bath!”
They swung Lars back and forth before tossing him into the pool while he yelled in protest. I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe, but Dave and James looked quite displeased as Joe went around collecting the dollars wagered with a big smile on his face.
"Did that happen to you too?" I asked, still laughing, looking at James as Lars emerged from the pool and joined us, annoyed. James grumbled, nodding in agreement.
"Lars lost again?" Cliff suddenly appeared, his arm around Leanne's shoulders and a half-empty vodka bottle in his hand. "You guys are gonna end up paying for Joe's next party with all the cash you lose in this dumb game."
"Why don't you give it a shot?" I said. "I'm sure you could win."
"No freakin' way, Nore," he scoffed.
"We should start training for this crap, man," Lars chimed in, irritated. "I still wanna kick Daniel's ass."
"Yeah, I think the game's over for now," Dave said, sounding disappointed, and he looked to the other side of the pool. I followed his gaze and saw Daniel crouched on the grass, puking into a bucket while Joe tried to offer him some water.
"Forget about that," Leanne spoke excitedly. "Come here, you guys. I brought Cliff's gift!"
"You didn't say anything about a gift," Cliff raised an eyebrow, a smile forming on his face that Leanne mirrored.
"'Cause it's a surprise," she opened the shoulder bag she was carrying as we all gathered around her, curious. "Are you ready? Look, I splurged on this, but I think you deserve it."
I gasped in astonishment as she pulled out a plastic package containing a lot — and I really mean a lot — of weed. Dave, Lars, and James looked as shocked as I was, but I could see Cliff's eyes light up at the sight of the "gift."
"Holy shit, Lea," he laughed. "That's why I love you." He took the package in his hands before looking at us, a mischievous smile on his face. "So, who's down to smoke this with me?"
I let out a sigh, closing my eyes and resting my head on Dave's shoulder. It was getting dark, and the party had calmed down a bit with some people leaving. But the ones who stayed were still going strong, drinking, dancing, and chatting by the pool—except for our little group, who seemed to have gotten way more stoned than we bargained for.
The scene was pretty funny: Cliff was slouched on one of the couches, his gaze lost, clutching a half-smoked joint, while Leanne snoozed beside him, curled up against his body. On the other couch, Dave sat with a half-empty beer bottle, and I snuggled up next to him, my head on his shoulder, trying to adjust to the feeling that everything seemed to be spinning around.
James was crashed out on our couch, his head resting on my thighs, snoring like a freight train. His blond hair was still a bit damp, tickling my skin. And there was Lars, shirtless, sprawled on the floor between the two couches, fixating on his open hand, basking in the balcony light.
"You know what?" Lars suddenly asked, his words slightly slurred. "I'm wondering if we built a raft out of beer cans, would it hold us?"
"Where'd you get that idea, man?" Cliff laughed. He shrugged nonchalantly.
"I don't even know if beer cans float in water," he continued. "Maybe we should test it."
"Of course they float," I grumbled. "But only when they're empty."
"But the real question is, would they support our weight?" he pondered.
"You're seriously high, aren't you?" Dave asked, speaking slowly. I couldn't help but laugh because we weren't much better off at the moment. Lars shrugged.
"I'm just thinking."
"Well, that's a rare sight," Cliff sarcastically remarked. Dave burst into loud laughter. I buried my face in his neck, sighing. I was feeling pretty lightheaded.
"You okay?" Dave asked, concern in his voice. I lifted my face, meeting his gaze. I smiled as he gently ran his hand through my hair.
"Just a bit dizzy. I think I've had too much to drink."
"Want some water? I'll get it for you."
"I'm good, Dave."
"Hey." He lifted my chin so I could look at him. I stared into his brown eyes, momentarily getting lost as I traced the lines of his eyes, his nose, his lips. Yeah, I was definitely high. He smiled when he noticed my gaze. "Let me take care of my girl, alright? I'll get you some water."
"Thanks." I replied softly. He got up from the couch, and I watched him walk into Joe's kitchen. I looked away and caught Lars' gaze, who was smiling at me.
"What're you staring at?" I asked, suddenly defensive.
"Let me take care of my girl," he mimicked, then chuckled. "That guy's head over heels for you, isn't he?"
I blushed but didn't say anything. I smiled as Dave came back with a glass of water, handing it to me, and I drank it down in a flash. He plopped back down next to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulders.
"Feeling better?" he asked, planting a sweet kiss on my forehead. I chuckled softly as he kissed my cheek and then my lips, pulling me in closer. I sighed as his hand caressed my face, his tongue playfully intertwining with mine in a more passionate kiss.
"Find a room, you two," Cliff moaned, annoyed. "I’m not in the mood for the PDA fest."
Dave grunted, breaking our kiss and looking frustrated, but he didn't say a word. He stood up, holding my hand and guiding me out of the backyard. I followed, standing up carefully to not disturb James, who was still knocked out with his head on my lap. He led me by the hand into Joe's house, and I giggled as we stumbled into some random dark room, his lips finding mine again as he pressed me against the wall.
"I'm testing something, you know," he whispered, sending shivers down my spine as his hand rested on my waist beneath my shirt, his rough palm against my bare skin.  "Now, every time I get annoyed, I'd rather kiss you than hit someone."
"And what’s annoying you?" I asked, pulling back slightly to meet his gaze. He huffed.
"Cliff is really getting on my nerves with his teasing. Does he think I'm just going to smother you with kisses or something?" I chuckled softly as he peppered my face with little kisses, eventually capturing my lips again, his hand firmly on my hip, pulling me closer.
"That's just how he is," I replied in a hushed voice. "But that doesn't mean he doesn't like us."
"Hey, he straight-up told you to watch out for me. I'm the lucky one because you actually like me," he laughed.
"And why do you like me?" I asked, genuinely curious. He let out a small huff.
"Besides the fact that you look absolutely stunning?" he teased, and I giggled softly. He gazed into my eyes, a gentle smile playing on his lips. "I love that you never let anyone tell you what to do. And yet, you're one of the kindest girls I've ever met." He kissed my lips tenderly, then trailed his lips to my cheek and neck. "You always go out of your way to make others happy, and you see the good in everyone... You're a good person, Nore."
I could feel my cheeks flush, and I quickly looked away. Getting complimented like that was something I wasn't used to. It surprised me how he noticed all those little things; seeing myself through his eyes was a whole new perspective.
"Plus, it's just so damn cute when you get all flustered like that," he whispered in my ear, sending shivers down my spine. He chuckled softly, pulling back slightly and cupping my chin in his hand. "Now it's your turn to tell me why you like a loser like me."
"You're not a loser," I frowned. "You're an amazing guitarist!"
"Well, thanks for that," he replied sarcastically, but I could tell he genuinely appreciated the compliment. "So, you're into me because I rock on the guitar?"
"It's not just that!" I protested. "It's just... You've been so kind to me since I got here. You never judge me, and… I feel free around you. I like that." I let out a sigh. "And even though you don't show it all the time, I know you care about others too. Plus, you're really handsome. And you smell nice," I added, and he burst into laughter as he hugged me tightly, hiding his face in the curve of my neck.
"I love you, you know?" he whispered, his voice slightly muffled. I blinked, taken aback, feeling that familiar rush of happiness in the pit of my stomach that he always managed to stir up in me.
My insecurities tried to tell me this was all too good to be true, but how could it not be true when he was right there with me? His fingers entwined with mine, holding my hand delicately yet firmly, pressing it against the wall as his lips traced a path from my neck to my mouth. I placed my other hand on his arm, and he tightened his grip on my waist, pulling me even closer as our bodies pressed against the wall. It was impossible to contain the fire that ignited every time he touched me like this, when his tenderness suddenly escalated into an overwhelming intensity, when his lips explored mine with a hunger I had never experienced before. I broke the kiss for a moment to lock eyes with him, his gaze dark and intense in the dimly lit room.
"I love you too, Dave," I whispered back. He simply grinned before kissing me, again, and again, and again.

I'd like to think of myself as a competent person and someone everyone can rely on. I can deal with my own issues easily but i just seem to be stuck on this cruel feeling of jelousy towards someone i respect so much.. But why do you look at her like that? We're quite close too but you never looked at me like that.. was I just never worthy of your attention? Did I missinterpret your words this entire time? We're you always just tollerating me?
I could never seem to wrap my head around on how much I actually like you until you had someone else with you. But I cant seem to want to break your relationship, i could never do that! You two look so happy together! I can't come out with my feelings now, i'll just ruin everything for you..
I wonder why i didn't find out about my feelings before you found her, and she was better then me.. I mean, she always was! Even at the university, even if I was 2 years older she still shined brighter then me. But I respect her too much to say anything about how utterly jelous i always was of her. She had everything, perfect physical and mental health, while i had to do the most ammount of overtime in our team, i'm almost never home and always working on something.
Today was no exception i woke up at 6am got ready and went to work from 9am to 10pm only to have to still finish my paperwork at home because the janitor has to practically force me to get out of the building so he can close up while i still have others unfinished work that i still can't say no to because they always treat me so kindly, how could i posssibly refuse to take on a little more work because they have kids at home and have to be there to know they're safe. While i have nobody, no warm bed in the winter or a refreshing drink in the summer. No time to drink any hot chocolate and lazy around because 'i still have that one file to finish uo before my deadline is over' and who knows what will happen if i miss the deadline??? Well, probably nothing because they will just push it back if i give a viable excuse on why i couldn't finish it, but i'm still a goody two shoes who want to get everything done on time, hahhhh..
Once again i am stuck in my office with a m*c-meal i got at last minute before they closed and a small amount of paperwork, its the weekend already- since it's past midnight and i am almost dine with all of my paperwork so i can relax alllll weekend because i dont work on weekends! Never.
And after half an hour, i am finnaly done. Saving the last file i turn off the computer, take all of my stuff and finnaly start to leave the law firm when i see Artem talking on his phone with someone, 'i might as well drop by and say goodbye to him..'. I walk towards his office and lightly knock on the door before letting myself in when he aknowledges my exsistance and signs for me to get in. "Hello Mr. Artem! I just finished all my work for the week and wanteddrop by to say goodbye when i saw you in your office." I said almost forcfully smiling at him, instantly regretting my choice to come here because i know he was going to intorrigate me on what i was doing here so late and yadda yadda yadda... all the boring stuff i get everytime from him- but this time, there was none of that insted he calmly said to whoever he was talking to to wait and turned to me to say goodnight and wish me a safe trip home I thanked him and quickly skurried out of his office before he could say anything else.
When i got to the bus station i was just in time for my 1 am bus back home and there i saw some strange looking men in masks? 'Did everyone just catch a flu?' I thought to myself before taking out my own mask in fear of spending my precious work free weekend sick in bed and quickly grabbed one of the bars hanging from the roof of the bus to stabilize myself and started feeling extremly tired but i held on until we came to my stop, i got off the bus and started walking to my apartment. When i got close to my apartment building i was about to cross the road to the building but i was suddenly greeted with a car passing full speed right at me, i would have usually noticed a car coming towards me but my building is right next to a turn and cars tend to come quite unexpectedly but nothing ever happanned to me so i didn't even think about moving! Well now i have all the time to think about while the car- after flying me like 20 meters away from it- swerwes to the right and hits a lamp post while the police that we're chasing it rush to the car take out the seemengly uninjured man and put him in handcuffs while the other policeman in the car call an ambulance for me. One of the policeman seem to be Mr. Morgan so i call out for him and try to go stand up only to feel such an intense feeling of pain in my head that i can't help but lay back down on the, now damp with my blood, piece of asphalt in the road. Despite the massive pain in my head telling me everything will hurt less if i just close my eyes i keep them open for the sake of Mr. Morgan who's shouting at me to not even try to close my eyes, luckily not even a few minutes of this pass and the ambulamce arrive, while one of the peramedics keeps asking me questions that i try to keep up with while a bunch of others so thigs such as put light gauze on the back of my head, wrap some around my arms, put a neck brace on me and put me on an ambulance bed. Quickly i was rushed to the hospital in that state and kept my eyes barely open the entire time. From the time when i was rushed in through the hospital doors and put onto the the operating table felt like a split second because i had blacked out and i relised that from the releived looks on the doctors faces when they saw i had woken up. Without further annalasys of me i was put to sleep once again and woke up once again, but not on the operating table but on a hospital bed surrounded by 'get well soon' cards, ballons and my favorite flowers..
Part 2? Also vyn or artem or no happy endings :)? Also this was kinda shitty but i hope you liked it <3

If you havent done him, what are your thoughts on Mitsuba (No.3)? Aside from his whole plot line with Kou, i believe he's super interesting because this is one of the (only i think?) times where we actually get to see a supernatural advance from day 1!
Hey Anon! :DD Really sorry for the wait for this ask dshdjsk
Once again, number 3 is a mystery so I will automatically really love him :D Especially with how many informations about supernaturals we gain with his plotline!
As you said, Number 3 is the only one where we see in details one of the way on how a supernatural can exist :D (we saw it for Mei and Akane too but not as much as Mitsuba!)
What we know about this new mystery is that he is a creation of Tsukasa with a piece of soul of the human Mitsuba Sousuke who died around the age of 14. So Number 3 isn't Sousuke, but still has a really deep connection with him since he has a part of his soul (hence why Nene and kou went to see his mom in chapter 74)
Tumblr media
What I love about Mitsuba is the fact that his wish of being human, is because he realized he never was one.
When we start the hell of the mirrors arc before Tsukasa appears he thinks that he is dead, because he has no memories and just think he forgot about his life. But really quickly several supernaturals come to tell him that he never was human in the first place and that he is a defect (as for number 6 :DD I love this) And that he exists only because of Mitsuba Sousuke's wish.
Tumblr media
Number 3 is only coming after Nene not being bothered or interested in Mitsuba's presense at all unless he gets in his way.
He is viewed as an object or a defect by a lot of the others supernaturals. Tsukasa, Hanako, Number 3 etc... But definitely wants to know what he is and what he is supposed to do. No matter what is the price and no matter how selfish it is.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this is what led us to the perfect picture arc :0 This is mostly coming from Mitsuba's (the number 3 now) wish in the first place.
Picture perfect arc is one of my fav arc of the manga because we get to see (Mei my beloved) how pathetic and desesperate supernaturals are when it comes to their wishes and want. Mitsuba wants to have a place somewhere and since the only thing he knows is what the human Mitsuba Sousuke went through when he was alive, this is what he wanna be. He knows becoming a human is impossible, so he will accept Tsukasa's plan even if it gets Kou and Nene involved in it. Because he doesn't care if others are hurt/involved in the first place (something that will change quickly let's be honest, he is the one who said what to do when he saw how distressed Kou and Nene were), he wants something and he will do anything stupid to get it. Even if it means giving up his real dreams and becoming just Tsukasa's pawn.
Tumblr media
I love the mystery kids being Identity crisis gangs too tbh.
Mitsuba just want to be loved even if it means becoming something he isn't. I absolutely adore how complicated it is for him to know and understand that he can be his own person. Because he just wants Kou to aknowledge him and is jealous of the other Mitsuba. The perfect picture arc show us two different view on supernaturals inspired by previous human. On one hand we have Shijima-san who never wanted to become Mei, who doesn't want people to think she is Mei because she is not good enough to be her or to represent her, and on the other hand, we have Mitsuba who knows isn't good enough to be the human Mitsuba Sousuke so is going to pretend and to fake everything to trick people into believing he is. And I adore this, that we have two views on this matter and that they both have a problem with being 'related'/inspired by a previous human. And in the end they are both supernaturals, who just want things but don't know how to get them without being full crazy about it because their morals and views are way different than humans.
It's Kou who tells him he can be someone even if he isn't the Sousuke Mitsuba he used to know and that he will be happier if he doesn't pretend and live in a fake world. (and then Kou goes full Kou mode like 'I will make you human yayyy')
Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of the thing I like about Mitsuba is that he is openly jealous too. Idk how to explain, I think it is really great to have this in a character. Of course supernaturals are jealous of humans because they don't have future and anything like them. They are trapped here only able to watch from afar time passing but never being able to move on. It just makes sense for Mitsuba who is a new supernatural to have those thoughts and to say it out loud.
Tumblr media
Idk where to end this tbh. I just really like Mitsuba's progression and story line, because it parrallels with Mei too. And we see how lonely and desesperate supernaturals are, how little they understand what humans think and how crazy they can get to get what they want. And of course, always assume what humans want, and do stupid shit for them without getting their consents (hello Hanako).
Another thing I wanna point out about Mitsuba and that I find really funny is the fact that he is the character who is openly saying how cute he is, and the fact that his powers are related to mirrors. When we all know mirrors can be linked really quickly to being narcissistic (not gonna explain the myth of Narcissus I think everyone knows it)
Mirros are also something in a lot of myths/beliefs that are related to what we really are. Mirros don't lie, when you are in front of a mirror you have to face what you really are deep down and forced to see your flaws so you can accept yourself (this is why Hanako doesn't wanna go into number 3's boundary at first) Mirrors being linked to identity issues is pretty funny to me when we see how Mitsuba is (and the fact that the mirror broke when Tsukasa destroyed the previous number 3 is great too eheh). His boundary is also a reflection of what he wants, even the previous number 3 had a rumor similar to Mitsuba's storyline. Muppets who want to trade their places with the livings.
Tumblr media
So yep I wonder where they will go with Mitsuba's arc now, especially since he doesn't seem too interested to become human again (at least less interested, he mostly wants to help Kou and becomes a good friend). Kou is the one focussing on this mostly. We also need to know what the Sakura gang has prepared for him (I do think there is a high chance his yorishiro is the same as the previous number 3 but honestly Idk that much). When we also can see that Tsukasa could have taken his yorishiro way before? He didn't need to create a new number 3 tbh Idk maybe he just wanted to mess with Kou (maybe he remembers him lol) and Amane. And we also don't know what happened really during chapter 65 so we probably didn't get the whole thing. And there is a lot of strange things going around the human Sousuke too, like why tf did he have a photo of the red house in the first place? So yep there are still things to resolve around him and since he is one of the last mysteries to have a yorishiro I hope we will see him there ^^ (we will see him again but I think it will be mostly for Kou's character development idk what they have planned for Mitsuba at all ahah x')
This got really long sorry anon :'D and it doesn't make that much sens, but yep I really like Mitsuba because of how flawned he is (but it makes sense) and how supernatural he is too ^^ I gotta agree that he is a really interesting character!

unpopular opinion I guess? I find the game system really unfair and the way it works nearly incomprensible whenever it dishes out points or detracts them. To me it seems like Penelope only survives because she has plot armor and the game bends towards her will. For example Penelope knew Derrick hated her calling him brother and whenever she did it it always let his favouability drop and led to a dead end. Then why did Penelope call Derrick brother during the royal banquet? According to the game rules his favourability should have dropped. Instead it rose from 6% to 8%. It’s already been made clear that Derrick hates being called brother because he has secretly feelings for her, then why would the author establish such a rule and then not follow through with the punishment?
Similar to how the Duke’s favourability rose when he saw that the crown prince had injured Penelope and he gave her a blank check. How was the player supposed to know the Duke was leaning towards the second prince when there was no hint given before? I thought the game is all about being smart? Rules are made only to be ignored later by the game system. Points are given for the least logical acts. Penelope is allowed to say rude things that would have gotten og Penelope killed. The servants are suddenly super friendly for no good reason. (Remember when they put on her dress and make up and were beaming like the sun? They used to abuse her or at least tolerate the abuse. Even now when some things had changed towards the better the contrast in behaviour is far too stark. There is a difference between treating your mistress correctly with a neutral attitude because you fear to be kicked out like the others and outright worshipping her/marvelling at her. Where is this friendly attitude coming from?) Penelope was criticized by everyone around her for wasting money and dressing too flashy aka not knowing her place but then the maids were sad when Penelope didn’t want to be dressed up?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adding on that, the scene with Callisto should have 100% gotten Penelope killed. She knew he was cray cray and used to be the one to kill Penelope the most. The least she could have done was preparing an excuse in advance in case her plan went wrong (which it did) so she wouldn’t be forced to come up with something convincing under pressure.
Even Penelope aknowledged her excuse for following him was half-assed. And Callisto says the closest they would have gotten was at his homecoming banquet. It is their first time meeting each other. "I followed you because I love you” is obviously a lie and not even a good one. Penelope says she has fallen in love with his good looks making her come across as a shallow person and just like the other noble girls. On top of that Callisto was already on the edge from killing the assassin previously. Sending female assassins that try to seduce their victims and then kill it is common and concluding Penelope was one is a logical jump he could make based on her strange behaviour. I also find it weird how he put his blade down and stopped pressuring her to give him a concise answer after seeing her tears as if he wasn’t canonically a mass murderer and probably used to people begging and crying for their life. I bet og! Penelope’s tears didn’t work on Callisto whenever he was about to kill her but suddenly for this Penelope he is feeling a bit compassion? or did her being in mental anguish amuse him?
Second thing that makes no sense is Penelope deciding to go live inside the palace after the Eckarts didn’t help her with the trial. Penny, my dear, what were you expecting? Penelope has zero emotional attachment to this family, meaning there should be no way emotions could have clouded her judgement. Based on their behaviour earlier she should have been aware that expecting them to rush to her rescuee was delusional. Especially Derrick Eckart. We are talking about a man who saw his maid was feeding Penelope rotten food and would have killed her for throwing a tauntrum despite knowing she was innocent. Believing he would have helpted her clear up her name is straight up delusional.
Deciding to go to the palace is nonsensical to me. Penelope worked hard to be somewhat respected in the Eckart mansion. And now she’s throwing all this away? She says she won’t switch Emily with a new maid because the other maid could be abusive and now she’s going to live at the palace and switching her servants with hundreds of other unknown servants? She says Callisto is akin to a grim reaper yet follows him into the palace? She saw how the queen and second crown prince want to kill him and she already got once mixed up in an assassination attempt. What does she think will happen if she sticks by Callisto’s side?

FINALLY SOMEONE SAID THE TRUTH.
I admit that i enjoyed act 3 but it feels like really rushed i have so much complain with that.
The build up until act 2 was so good it give us so much premise but the final blow si meh. Sorry that i want to share thing long rant with you
1. Why the final talk is with yae, no offense to her but we need ei to explain not to mention she witness khaenriah downfall so she can give us more information, i feel like they do it for the plot armor so they can just keep dragging this
2. So many things that quite inconsistant, the shogun is show no mercy to anyone that even did a little thing outside what she think its right, how come she can still have a talk with signora, when sara is falling like that, and also there is no clarification about sara right now.
The traveler was so done at first they refuse to help thoma and ayaka at the beginning. But they seem so happy and forget everything how come they are not RAGE ( okay maybe this is to bias and personal) when this nation provide nothing about our siblings information and also why they are not mention anything about their problem in ei stroy quest. Its nonsense! She is right in front of youu, ask about your siblings, ask about khaenriah, ask about ukmown god!!. How come they can just forget like that. Also mihoyo really waste the potential about twin things i thing ei will give us so much help bcs of the sympathy that we both rn lost our twin but noooo.
3. Kokomi seem lost some brain cell, she make a very succesfull grand intro but she become meh in act 3, how come a great strategist like her let the sus sponsorship slip just bcs they are desperate, not to mention her screen time is really small and her role seem so unsignificant and it feels lile she is a plain npc.
4. The awesome world quest that we have done doesnt get any mention at all! Inazuma owe us so much with cleansing sakura, thunder sakura, tatarigami, obarashi quest. It has so much potential that yae or ei or anyone else aknowledge what traveler has been done but nooo.
cracks knuckles... i suppose it's time for my promised dissertation. interestingly enough, you touched on a lot of the main issues i had with chapter III.
i think that if i had to pin the main issue, it's a lack of overall cohesiveness? we were jumping all over the place without the chance to ever flesh things out. inazuma is a smaller cast, but i feel like we didn't get to see any of them shine. since i'm most interested in the genshin characters, i'll break down my problems by going over everyone and their (lack) of impact on the story.
was ayaka not questioned or placed under suspicion for being close to thoma before his escape? i wanted to see her broken up over her duties as they relate to the yashiro commission, paired with having someone she genuinely cares about in danger. it would've been an interesting struggle if she was forced to choose one or the other. instead she just kinda took a back seat.
speaking of thoma, i don't even have anything to say, because he just... was there? for .0001 seconds. said "lol this sucks ig" and that's about it. i know we're going to get a story for him in the future since he's a 5* but i'm not getting my hopes up 😭 then in the raiden shogun's character story, man is peachy keen! be upset with the raiden shogun! have some inner conflict! even if it's just using loaded language because he's under surveillance for going against the raiden shogun, that'd be so cool. saying something like,
"Traveler, what's with that expression? Oh please, there's nothing to worry about. We're under the Statue of the Omnipresent God's protection. Nothing bad has ever happened here." *wink*
i also don't know what to say about gorou. he was... there....... i think. what is he fighting for? what are the stakes for him? what makes him place so much trust into kokomi? i'm out of things to say about him because i don't remember anything he did or said.
kokomi... oh kokomi... i was so hyped. so excited. i thought that maybe we could see a foil to the raiden shogun. that she'd have a moment where she's forced to realize, just like her opponent, sacrifices must be made that will hurt people who will never understand why she made them. or maybe something to show her military prowess. but instead she just accepts a mysterious patron's help (?), sees her people aging like the grateful dead from JJBA, and goes oh well. that sucks. what can ya do. oh bye traveler i guess, good luck with that. ????????????? HUH... similar case to thoma where she's gonna get a character story but like. she won't be the leader of the resistance anymore. that was her whole shtick. they took her shtick away. also she forced me to interact with more NPCs whose names i've already forgotten so i'm tilted about that still.
KUJOU SARA... AN INJUSTICE. A DISGRACE. a slap to my woman loving face. the build up was there. yae miko's comments about sara probably knowing the tenryou commission is involved in shady dealings, but is choosing not to think about it. sara being forced to confront reality and challenge her adopted father with the truth. being able to blaze a new path for herself in the process. when she started running to the raiden shogun i was ultra hyped up. sara, a devotee to the shogun for so long, was about to see her god interacting with the same people who led inazuma to this awful state. how would she react? would she stay ignorant, like yae miko so coyly said, choosing to look away in favor of following her god's footsteps? or would she be forced to recognize the raiden shogun isn't as divine as she once thought, and challenge her belief system?
we open the door to see the raiden shogun. the loading screen ensues. the camera pans to the ominous room, clouded in darkness, hinting at the ominous confrontation that is to come. the music takes a serious timbre. and then...
Tumblr media
well fuck that potential character arc i guess. (we still don't know what sara made of any of this since she poofed out of existence from the story at this point)
kazuha also was handed a similar treatment. we've been with him for a while longer now. he is our introduction into inazuma, the one who first gets us emotionally involved by regaling us with the bittersweet tale of friendship that led him to becoming a wanted criminal. a kind soul who loves nature yet was dealt a cruel hand by fate, forced to watch his home nation turn into a hostile place, where his dear friend ultimately perished as a result. we get the scene with his friend's vision lighting back up. he parries a block from the raiden shogun, in the same area where his friend was killed by her. the parallels. the drama. except this time, he wasn't too late. he protected the traveler where he "failed" to protect his friend in the past. did he feel redemption at this? or was it a bittersweet reminder of what could've been?
WELL i guess we'll never know because we didn't get to talk to him again 😭 idk who got a bait and switch worse, him or sara. jesus christ mihoyo.
then we have signora. why is the raiden shogun talking to her? does she know about the gnosis being taken, and if she doesn't, what was her plan to get it from the archon? what does she think about scaramouche? and oh, okay, we're fighting here now. good fight + god tier music. pog pog. okay, now we've beaten her up, and raiden shogun wyd— wait no not signora her lore is still on CUPS not YET raiden shogun and— ah she's dead. okay. non nerds who didn't read artifact lore are going to know nothing about her. signora has such an interesting story, and yet... well. ok.
then we get raiden shogun redemption (?) arc. i was hype for this as well, though at that point, idk why i bothered being hype. i knew they were gonna do a cute power of friendship something or another, and i'm good with that, so long as it's executed well. what i was envisioning was like seven different buffs to correspond with the seven different visions, the dreams of those whose ambitions were stolen serving as the spear to penetrate the raiden shogun's heart of stone. maybe a hydro vision giving us extra healing for a time, with the voice acting over it being like,
"Even if the rest of the world forgets us, let our will carry you through this one final time. Succeed where we couldn't, Traveler."
so on and so forth.
but instead we got— you get the idea at this point. why bother spelling it out anymore.
at that point i was surprised the raiden shogun didn't go "oopsie woopsie!! we made a fucky wucky!!!" because that was the vibe i was getting. i love ei, don't get me wrong, but i wanted to see her challenged with what she had done to inazuma in the past year. maybe meeting NPC #2345259 who lost her sister to the vision decree or something, reminding ei of the love she held for her sister... being forced to come to terms with the extent of what she's done in pursuit of eternity.
anyway. please for the love of god mihoyo hire better writers for the main story. that is all i ask. thank you.

Semblance of the Soul: Qrow and Raven
The Branwens are two people with a shared past, that have taken different routes in life:
Ozpin: Everyone has a choice. The Branwens chose to accept their powers and the responsibilities that came with them. And later, one of them chose to abandon her duties in favor of her own self-interest.
Qrow has made an altruistic choice. He hates the crimes of his tribe and is happy to help people by working for Ozpin.
Raven has instead decided to prioritize herself and her tribe and sees Ozpin’s cause as foolish and reckless.
At the same time, they are twins, but have chosen different families. This is why the concept of family comes up so often in their interactions. After all, they first meet in the episode called Family:
Raven: Hello, brother.
Qrow: Raven. So, what do you want?
Raven: A girl can't just catch up with her family?
And their last exchange is this:
Raven: Sorry, brother. Sometimes family disappoints you like that.
Qrow: We're not family anymore.
Raven: Were we ever?
Qrow: I thought so, but I guess I was wrong.
Still, how are they doing with their families of choice? Are they happy with them? Do they have healthy relationships?
For the both of them, the answer is no. This happens because Raven and Qrow are both scared to grow close to people.
It is just that this fear is declined in opposite ways. Raven is scared for herself (selfishness), while Qrow is scared for others (selflessness).
This trait they share, but show in different ways, is well conveyed by their respective semblances. This analysis will use their powers as means to explore both characters and their foiling.
RAVEN: BIRDS OF A FEATHER
Raven’s Kindred Link perfectly embodies the saying...
Birds of a feather flock together...
Tumblr media
...until the cat comes:
Tumblr media
Raven: I...I'm sorry...
On one hand it lets her create portals to the people she has a strong bond with.
On the other hand she mostly uses it to run away from those bonds.
Why does she do it?
The answer is clear:
Lionheart: I'm helping her for the same reason you are - I'm afraid. We... we can't stop her... no one can...
Raven is just another version of the Cowardly Lion. She is a coward like Leo, but does not aknowledge it and prefers to hide behind a pragmatic and survivalist mask:
Tumblr media
Raven: That's why I tried to leave when I did. I'm not afraid, I'm smart.
This is why she goes back to her tribe after she leaves Yang and Tai. She says she does so because she considers them her family and wants to protect them.
However, her motivations are implied to be more selfish. She goes to them to run away from things that scare her.
To be more specific, the tribe protects Raven psychologically in two different ways.
1) It lets her be the monster, the criminal, the most violent and powerful one:
Mercury: We’re the guys you should be afraid of.
Raven: I doubt anyone should be afraid of you.
Here, Raven mocks Mercury, but the irony is that her coping mechanism is really not that much different from his. She hides behind a Grimm mask, a universal symbol of fear, but she is the scared one.
2) She goes back to the family who raised her and neglects the family she is supposed to raise (Yang).
Deep down, Raven is just an adult, who fails at being an adult.
Mostly, this shows in her inability to make a choice:
Yang: Which is it, mom? Are you merciful, or are you a survivor?
As a matter of fact she keeps changing her mind because she is not brave enough to stick to one decision.
Initially, she is sent to Beacon, so that she could learn how to kill hunters. However, she ends up becoming a huntress herself and she accepts to fight Salem. She is considered so loyal that she is even given magical powers. Finally, she enters a relationship and has a daughter with Tai. She basically starts creating a life outside the tribe, only to leave it all behind at a certain point. It is not clear if it is because she saw something specific or if it is the result of a longer struggle.
The point is that nobody forced her to fight Salem. She could have also refused Ozpin’s powers. Finally, she could have told Ozpin and the others she wanted to stop. In any case, she did not have to leave her family to stop fighting Salem. What is more, she could have brought her family with her, when she ran away.
She chooses instead to leave everything she has built behind and goes back to the world she was a child in. It might be a violent world, but she sees it as safer.
Let’s highlight that she has the same tendency of changing idea in the series itself. She switches sides and organizes a risky plan, which puts almost all her major bonds (Qrow, Vernal and Yang) in danger. She does all that because she wants the relic, so that she has leverage against Salem. After all of this, even after Vernal’s death, she simply runs away. She is obviously shaken by her confrontation with Yang, who calls her out. However, Yang is perfectly right when she says so:
Yang: Because you're afraid of Salem!!! And if you thought having Maiden powers put a target on your back, imagine what she'll do when she finds out you have a Relic. She'll come after you with everything she has. Or she can come after me. And I'll be standing there, waiting for her.
Taking the relic would just put Raven in danger. For her it is safer to open the vault and disappear, so that someone else can take care of things. Even if this someone else is her daughter.
In other words, Raven is a failure of a mother. This is shown by her failing all three of her “daughters” (Yang, the Spring Maiden and Vernal). Moreover, it is perfectly conveyed by her being a Maiden.
The idea of maidenhood is symbolically juxtaposed to the one of motherhood. Of course, this does not have to be true in-universe for all the Maidens. Still, in Raven’s case, this juxtaposition is deliberate. Raven is an eternal Maiden, who runs away from her parental responsibilities.
This is why she received the power from her protegee instead than from a mentor figure. She is so selfish she takes from the people she should protect:
Cinder: Vernal was a decoy the whole time. The last Spring Maiden must've trusted you a great deal before she died. I bet that was a mistake...
What is more, it is strongly implied she killed the previous Maiden to take her powers. This is interesting because it ties to a second meaning of her semblance.
Her ability symbolizes the unfairness of the bonds she forges. She works to create those bonds and there is affection involved. However, these bonds are double edged swords for the other party involved because of Raven’s moodiness. She can leave when she wants and come back out of the blue. She can always go to others when she needs it, while others can never reach her. This leads to an unbalanced dynamic in Raven’s favour.
This dynamic can even become extremely dangerous for the other person:
Tumblr media
Raven can potentially use her ability to attack the people she is bonded with. She does not use her semblance this way in the series. Still, what happened to the Spring Maiden is something similar. To receive the power of the Maiden, Raven must have been the last person in the girl’s thoughts before death. This probably happened because the two shared a close bond. A bond Raven betrayed.
In other words, the nature of Raven’s semblance hides in itself the potential of betrayal:
Raven: Aura can't protect your arm, it's Grimm. You turned yourself into a monster just for power.
Cinder: Look who's talking...
As Cinder points out, Raven too, like her, has become a monster to obtain power. The difference here is in how this montrosity is conveyed.
In Cinder’s case, she is literally turning into a Grimm. She has accepted this metamorphosis to take the Maidens’ powers.
In Raven’s case, it is ironically the opposite symbolically. She wears a Grimm mask, but the true monstrosity is the Maiden behind it:
Tumblr media
Raven is monster-like because she stole the power from a person, who trusted her.
Let’s highlight that the motif of the Grimm mask has come up several times in the series. So far, it has been used by people, like Raven and Adam, who want to be feared. Something similar can be seen in the Hound as well, who is not really wearing a mask, but whose humanity is hidden behind his Grimm appearance.
In all three cases, the true scary thing is what is behind the Grimm-face:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is always the humanity behind it that is scary. Be it the victim behind the monster in the Hound, society’s mistreatment of Faunus or Raven’s cowardice and what it led her to do:
Yang: You're right. I don't know you. I only know the Raven dad told me about. She was troubled, and complicated, but she fought for what she believed in, whether it was her team or her tribe! Did you kill her too?
Yang’s question is poignant and underlines how all Raven has done is simply to hurt herself. By hurting the people she loves, she has been killing a part of herself.
This is also conveyed by her emblem missing from her possessions. According to the wiki, Raven’s emblem is this:
Raven's emblem is a winged eye with a clock inside of it. This emblem has not appeared on any of her possessions so far.
This is a reference to Raven and Qrow’s allusion to  Hugin and Munin, Odin’s two ravens, who travel the world and bring him information. Raven and Qrow do the same for Ozpin and they are his eyes.
Qrow is the left eye:
Salem: The last eye is blinded... you disappoint me.
While Raven used to be the right. So, her emblem is probably the right version of Qrow’s own one. Still, Raven refuses that part of herself and this is why she is not wearing her emblem.
In short, Raven used to be a bird of a feather with Qrow, but she is not flocking together with him anymore. This is because a scary cat has come:
Tumblr media
And Raven has sacrificed her bonds out of fear. Not only that, but she has weaponized them:
Yang:  You turn your back on people, you run away when things get too hard, you put others in harm's way instead of yourself!!
Raven has been using her most loved people as assets, so that she can shield herself from danger. Maybe it is because of this that she symbolically uses Omen to open portals. This even if she can apparently do so without it, since she opens them even as a bird. However, using her sword is a way to distance herself from the true nature of her ability (bonds). It is a way to reduce her ties with people to simple things she can use.
That said, this is damaging Raven herself.
To be more specific, she is making herself weaker and weaker:
Yang: Oh, shut up!! You don't know the first thing about strength! (...) You might be powerful, but that doesn't make you strong.
Raven is powerful, but weak. This weakness is symbolically conveyed by her behaving in the opposite way her semblance would need to truly shine.
Raven’s power works thanks to bonds, so it can be assumed it would be at its strongest if its user cultivated them both in quality and in numbers. However, Raven has few bonds and she is cutting them off one by one:
Yang: You can bond to certain people. And when you do, you could create a portal that takes you straight to them. You've got one for Dad. One for me. And you've got one for Qrow.
We know that Raven is also bonded with Vernal. Still, Vernal dies at the end of volume 5. Of the other ones Yang mentions, Raven has pushed away both Qrow and Yang through her actions at Heaven.
This makes this scene interesting:
Tumblr media
Did the portal Raven opened at Heaven go to Tai? Did she go there because she felt nostalgic and missed him? Or is he the only one (both practically and symbolically) she can still run to?
QROW: A SCARE-QROW SCARED OF CROWS
Qrow’s semblance is Misfortune and it is basically a Bad Luck Charm:
I am no one's blessing I'll just bring you harm I'm a cursed black cat I'm an albatross I'm a mirror broken Sad to say I'm your bad luck charm
Qrow causes bad luck around himself. Because of this, he sees himself as a curse.
However, this conflict Qrow has with his semblance is actually symbolic of a turmoil developed on multiple levels.
Let’s begin with this:
Raven: You're the one who left. The tribe raised us, and you turned your back on them.
Qrow: They were killers and thieves.
Raven: They were your family.
Qrow: You have a very skewed perception of that word.
Qrow was born in a tribe of bandits and was taught how to kill and steal. Finally he was sent to a hunter academy, so that he could learn how to kill his classmates in the near future.
Qrow’s semblance is nothing, but the manifestation of his self-hate, that was probably partly caused by the environment he was born in. In a sense, it is his symbolical response to his childhood.
Let’s highlight that this response is very different from Raven’s. This is shown by their opposite behaviours toward their tribe. Qrow leaves it, while Raven goes back to it.
This difference can also be conveyed by how both Raven and Qrow share a specific motif, but embody it in different ways.
Both twins are associated with bad luck. Both can turn into ravens/crows, which are birds linked to misfortune. Moreover, their weapons are called respectively Omen (Raven’s) and Harbinger (Qrow’s).
The meaning is clear. The twins were born and raised with the idea that they should be symbols of violence and bad luck for their enemies. It is just that Raven wants to be a bad omen because it makes her feel strong. Qrow does not want it, but thinks he is:
I'm a harbinger, I cannot lie, I will change the color of your life.
It is to try and free himself from this curse that Qrow started working for Ozpin. He literally becomes the Scarecrow of the story to try and exorcise the bad fortune he brings. He is trying to scare the crows away. He thinks that if he does so, he’ll become a full person.
This ties with the original story of his allusion. In The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the Scarecrow wants a brain because he is told by an old crow he would be just like a real man, if only he had one. In short, the Scarecrow wants a brain to become a real man, so that he can scare crows better than he already does.
Qrow too wants to be a full person, but he believes he is not. He thinks he is cursed and as a reaction to this he has attached himself to Ozpin and to his cause:
Qrow: No one wanted me... I was cursed... I gave my life to you because you gave me a place in this world... I thought I was finally doing some good...
This is why he reacts so badly when he discovers that Ozpin (who is basically a father figure for Qrow) has hidden so many things from him. Not only that, but he feels that the impossibility of truly defeating Salem (of truly defeating evilness) makes his life meaningless.
The point is of course that this is not the case and that Qrow does not need to do anything specific to be a true person and to be loved:
Qrow: Every choice I've ever made has led me here, and I've dragged you along with me. Oz, myself, the others... We're responsible for the mess the world's in now. I shouldn't have come, shouldn't have let any of you come... What was I thinking?!
Ruby: We're all in this together, and we're all going to do the best we can. That's all anyone can do. And I know it's what you've always aimed for. We would've come whether or not you'd let us, so stop talking like we're your responsibility! We're not! But we could still use Qrow Branwen on our side.
Ruby’s confrontation with Qrow at the end of volume 6 is basically the opposite of Yang’s confrontation with Raven in the finale of volume 5.
Yang calls Raven out because she refuses her responsibilities. She pushes them on others and leaves her own daughter to fight a battle she ran away from.
Ruby calls Qrow out on taking too much responsibility on himself. The kids were not forced by him to come. Qrow should not be completely responsible for them, but should learn to fight by their side.
Later on, Qrow is basically told the same by Maria:
Maria: You weren't half bad yourself today, Qrow.
Qrow: I feel like they did all the heavy lifting.
Maria: But you were there to help when they asked for it, and you were there to catch them when they fell. Literally, if I recall.
This is important because Maria appears just after Ozpin (aka Qrow’s mentor and guide) disappears. She is the person Qrow aspired to be:
Qrow: You never used your name, never showed your face. Lots of us thought you were just layin' low. Eventually, we just came to accept that you were probably dead. But the stories about you, I based my weapon off of yours. I wanted to be as good as the Grimm Reaper.
At the same time, Maria too, like him, considers herself a failure:
Maria: Well, I'm nothing but a disappointment, so you're well on your way.
However, at the end of the volume both Maria and Qrow realize that they do not have to save the world by themselves or to be invincible heroes. They just need to be there for their loved ones and the new generations. In short, Maria mentors Qrow on how to be a proper mentor.
And it turns out that he just has to take better care of himself:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In short, Qrow became the Scarecrow to scare crows, but ironically all he needs to do is to overcome his own fear of one Qrow.
If he does not, his semblance is bound to become a self-fulfilling prophecy, as it is shown in his two fights against Tyrian (vol 4 and vol 7).
1) In volume 4 he manages to protect Ruby, but ends up injured and unable to help the kids for the rest of their journey. He goes from their protector to a wounded man they have to take care of.
Narratively, it happens because of this:
Ruby: This is a lot to take in, and it all sounds crazy, but... I'm willing to do whatever I can to help because I trust you. But why couldn't you trust me? Why couldn't you just travel with us, instead of this secrecy, and, and--
Qrow: Look, this has nothing to do with trust. I-- It's a long story, okay?
The whole fight between Tyrian and Qrow could have played out very differently if Qrow were better at communicating with his niece. He wanted her away from Tyrian and himself because of his semblance, but Ruby interpreted it as Qrow not trusting her.
2) In volume 7, the battle ends with Clover’s tragic death being framed on Qrow.
Why does it happen?
Clover: Sometimes the right decision is the hardest to make. I trust James with my life! I wanted to trust you.
Once again, the problem lies in a lack of trust.
Qrow and Clover genuinely like each other and have bonded. Still, they fail to trust each other in a key moment and make the worst possible choice.
This is true for both characters:
Clover: I enjoyed working with you, you know. Even with that endless cynicism of yours.
Qrow: I'm usually proven right.
Clover: We don't have to fight, friend.
Qrow: You don't know my friends. That's how it always goes.
Qrow: Why couldn't you just do the right thing instead of the thing you were told?
In a sense, the whole fight can be read as The Scorpion and the Frog. In the original fairy-tale, the point is that one can’t overcome their own nature. The scorpion will sting the frog even if it goes against its own survival. Here, it is the same for the characters. In order for things to go well, either Clover or Qrow should overcome their flaw, but they fail.
Clover is not able to let go of his loyalty for Ironwood, even if it is clear the orders he received are wrong.
Qrow goes back to his usual cynism and makes a pact with Tyrian:
Robyn: I’m sorry for what happened. It wasn’t your fault.
Qrow: It was, though. I made a deal with the darkness, and he paid the price. It was all happening so fast, but Clover wouldn’t let up. Could have worked together against Tyrian if Clover just...
Tyrian is the poisonous scorpion, while both Qrow and Clover are two frogs, who are hurt by him. Ironically, the frog’s mistake in the story is to trust the scorpion, while the mistake of our two frogs is that they did not trust each other.
Still, why is it so narratively? To be more specific, why is that so when it comes to Qrow’s character?
The answer is here:
Qrow: But the thing that really stings? For the first time in a while I thought, maybe, maybe I could be around somebody - anybody - without my semblance making it… complicated. And now, it just feels like a childish dream. Gone... like everybody else.
Clover is narratively this:
Blake: You have to understand that all of you are looking for simple answers to a very complicated problem.
He is a very simple answer to a very complicated problem that has its roots in Qrow’s interiority. Qrow’s flaw, what goes in the way of his relationships and happiness, is not that he is unlucky, but that he feels unlucky.
He feels worthless and thinks of himself as bad for others. This is why he keeps his distance and refrains himself from growing close to people.
He blames it on his semblance and this is why he makes an exception for Clover. It is because he sees in the other’s ability an easy fix to his struggle.
Still, he is proven wrong because in the moment of truth, they fail to communicate and everything goes to hell.
This is not to say that Qrow and Clover’s relationship was bad or that Clover deserved to die. In-universe their bond had beautiful aspects and could have grown stronger. Moreover, Clover could have developed and left his flaw behind.
Still, narratively Clover serves a specific purpose and him dying is a part of said purpose.
Clover brings a superficial harmony to a situation and a group dynamic, which is actually not harmonic at all:
Tumblr media
Clover: What would you guys do without me?
The Ace Ops are a group of individuals repressing their own feelings and identities for the sake of an unspecified greater good. They see the world in black and white, not because they are stupid, but because they refuse complexity:
Robyn: Yeah, because you don’t care about the truth. You just want someone to be mad at. Easier than taking an honest look at what side you’re on.
Winter: Penny. The general is making hard choices so we don't have to.
This fits with them being a group based on Aesops aka short stories with a very well defined and often simplicistic message.
In short, Clover is the one that keeps his group together. Once he is gone, his group starts deteriorating. All because they refuse to aknowledge their feelings:
Ren: That’s why you lost against Team RWBY. You, you try to fight how you feel about each other, so you’ll never truly work as a team.
Once he is gone, Qrow is similarly forced to grieve and self-reflect. Luckily, he is not alone:
Tumblr media
Robyn is the opposite of Qrow in terms of symbolism.
Qrow is associated with crows and bad luck, while Robyn is linked to robins, which bring good fortune.
She is also a symbol of unity and hope (her emblem is basically Katniss’s symbol in the Hunger Games, after all):
Tyrian: Robyn Hill. For such a little bird, you have quite the impact around here! Bringing hope and a smile wherever you go! I find it…upsetting.
Despite this, Robyn too has suffered isolation, just like Qrow:
Robyn: Believe it or not, I know a little of what that’s like. When people are worried you’re gonna sniff out their secrets, they tend to push you away. It makes a real connection… difficult.
Qrow: I-- never thought of it that way.
Robyn’s line is important for two reasons.
a) It shows Qrow that he is not the only one who has met difficulties in life because of his semblance. His case is not unique.
b) It links to the idea that trusting others is difficult and it is not something that comes without dedication and work.
As a matter of fact Robyn’s semblance is specifically symbolic of trust. It is the power to detect lies through touch, so if you are going to work with her, it means you must be ready to trust and to be trusted:
Tumblr media
This also ties figuratively with the act of shaking one’s hand as if to make a pact (an act of trust). If Raven’s power is about asymmetrical bonds, then Robyn’s is about mutual ones.
Robyn highlights that this creates problems for her because it is not easy for people to trust. Some can’t be trusted, while others do not trust Robyn won’t cross their boundaries.
However, this also means that the relationships Robyn manages to forge are strong bonds, where everything or almost everything is out in the open. This is the exact opposite kind of environment than the one realized through Clover’s good luck semblance. It is a harmony more difficult to reach, but it is a more stable and genuine one.
It is these kinds of bonds Qrow should aim to create. In order to do so, he must accept his semblance and his past as parts of themselves. Still, he should not let them define him. Not only that, but he should learn to trust others and their strengths:
Qrow: Ruby, stop!
Ruby: I need you to trust me.
Only in this way, Qrow can truly grow. The secret is that it was never about scaring the crows away, but to learn how to live with them.
HUGIN THAT RUNS AWAY AND MUNIN THAT MAKES EVERYONE WORRIED
Raven and Qrow’s issues can be synthesized by this quote:
"Hugin and Munin fly each day over the spacious earth. I fear for Hugin, that he come not back, yet more anxious am I for Munin."
Raven never comes back, while Qrow has his loved ones fear for him because of his self-destructive tendencies.
In order to overcome these flaws, they must grow in opposite directions.
Raven must realize that her survivalism is actually self-destructive. It makes her survive, but it negates her the chance of living. She must become more selfless and trustworthy to make it up for the unfair bonds she created.
Qrow must accept that his self-destructiveness is actually selfish and damaging to his loved ones. He must start to trust others’ strengths, so that he can be brave enough to live together with them, instead of looking at them from afar.

Welcome to a new episode of Sapphire Rambles, today's topic being:
Just as c!Tommy is a simbol of Care, c!Fundy is a simbol of Love.
Let me explain.
(There are going to be 3 principal points to this rant, and each of them is gonna end with a Tl;dr in purple, so it's easier to follow)
If you're a regular in the Fundy tag (or in the Ranboo tag since this argument gets often brought up in relation to C!Ranboo), you might have already seen some rants talking about how C!Fundy is an incredibly loving person, willing to chase after the people he care about if he sees the tiniest hint that mending their relationship is possible, even if they hurted him in the past.
Yeah you are going to see the same argument again here in the first part, but I promise this gets interesting
This became more clear after the Break, when he decided to try and mend his relationship with Philza and Ranboo even if they weren't at all on good terms at the moment, but he thought it was worth it so he tried and will keep on trying anyways, but we have examples of Fundy's really loving and forgiving nature back to the Revolutionary era
Everyone knows about Eret's betrayal I'm sure, but one thing people seem to skim over is how it effected Fundy, because there's the really high possibility that he was the one who was hurted the most by it.
For everyone who has some spotty memory (me too sometimes fam), Eret was the closest person to Fundy at the time, the two being really close friends, so the betrayal must have had a terrible effect on his emotional health, but you know how it went?
It went that Fundy was the first person to reach out to Eret and start to forgive his actions. Fundy always valued his friendships above the side he was in. So even tho he was a L'manburg abitant, he still thought of Eret as a dear friend to him and did his best to not make them feel alone or isolated
There are really few examples of people Fundy actually has an issue with, but even here Hate is a strong and mostly wrong word to apply, for example:
- Wilbur: as we are shown in the interactions with Ghostbur, Fundy didn't hate Wilbut for how he neglected and patronized him, it made him upset (as we saw when Ghostbur called him "his little champion" and he ran away) but he never hated Wilbur for that. The only thing he didn't forgive him was deciding to die, leaving him. And his issue with Ghostbur is not aknowledging or taking responsability. But he doesn't hate Ghostbur, he can talk to him in a civil manner even if the Ghost pretty much upsets him. And about Wilbur? Fundy loved Wilbur, the thing that hurted him was he taking the decision to definitivly leave him.
- Technoblade: even before Doomsday, the correct word of Fundy's feelings towards Techno has never been Hate, but Fear. A lot of people seemed to miss this point about the Butcher Army as a whole, but they weren't move by hate, even if they tried to make it look like they were. They were terrified. On their way to Techno's house, it was more clear than ever that they were TERRIBLY afraid of Techno. The Butcher army was never a movement of hate, but a bad reaction to a traumatic event that scarred them with fear. Also, after the Break? Fundy understands why Techno wanted L'manburg gone, so he doesn't hate him for that.
- Jschlatt: if you followed Fundy's pov, it won't be a surprise me saying that Fundy doesn't hate Jschlatt, but it may be news to other people, since one of the last interaction between the two was... anything but positive. I still shiver at the caravan scene. But even after all he's done, Fundy can't bring himself to completly hate Jschlatt, even if he did a lot of horrible things and was a horrible person, he still doesn't hate him. Fundy took with him Jschlatt's sword, keeping it as a relic and a memory of the man.
There is no one in the server, probably not even Dream Himself, that Fundy full-on hates. No matter how much they hurted him and everyone else, he just. Doesn't hate them. He's able to see the humanity in everyone, even if he wishes he could just hate people that wronged him. He was always forgiving and loving, these two aspects of him becoming even more prominent after his Break.
Tl;dr: Fundy is a character incredibly full of love and almost always willing to forgive and mend relationships with people he cares about at the moment he sees the possibility.
Now that I got the part most talked about out of the way, I'm taking the second tangent. Let's talk about Self-love.
It's not news the fact that there are really few characters, if not actually none of them, who love themselves. Might it be for trauma or for guilt, none of the characters actually love themself and act out of self-love.
Sometimes there are characters that act for themselves, but that is different from acting out of self-love.
Acting for themselves means doing something to achieve an objective that you want, for example: Eret's betrayal.
Eret betrayed L'Manburg becayse he was promised the role of King of the SMP by Dream, she acted out of her wish for power and control. That's an example of acting for yourself.
Acting out of self-love means doing something with the only cardinal reason being that it's good for you, taking care of yourself doing something that makes you feel better and healthier. That is acting out of self-love.
And, if you look at the server, you can easily see that no one has ever done that, expect for one single time.
The closest wrong thing you might be thinking off right now is when Tommy escaped from exile, but that was not an act driven by self-love. Sure, Tommy saved himself and went towards a healthier mindset, but what drove him towards that direction was not a desire to be better and good for himself, but rage towards Dream and a desire to be back to his family and friends.
You know what the only act that could possibly be out os self-love is?
Fundy going away for a years and a half, taking a break from everyone
Think about it for a second. Why did he do that? Let's start putting away the wrong possibilities:
- Doing it for someone: Fundy at the moment was heavily spiraling towards paranoia, wanting to be a villain to make everyone hate him. If that was his mindset at the time, why would he even want to get a break for anyone?
- Having a second cause: what second cause could there be for a choice like getting away from an unhealthy situation to heal? The only second reason a choice like this could have is healing to help someone else heal when you're feeling better, but refer to the last point
- ... that's virtually it
The only reason that could have caused Fundy to decide to take a break from the whole situation because it was unhealthy and heal was because he wanted to heal. For himself. He genuinly wanted himself to feel better for the only reason being, simply, feeling better.
Fundy is the only character for now to have ever taken an important choice for making himself feel better and letting himself heal.
Tl;dr: Fundy taking the year and a half break was the only decision on the entire SMP taken only out of self-love and genuine desire to feel better for the sole reason of feeling better.
Fundy is a representation of love, in any shape or form. He is unapologetically full of love and care, both for himself and for the people around him.
Anyway, the third part is a theory, if younwill kindly follow me:
The above analysis is the exact reason why the Egg causes Fundy an extreme repulsion.
Since both Fundy and Tubbo said that the Egg seems connected to Dreamons, I'm going to roll with that idea in mind.
As we all know, one of the only known weaknesses of a Dreamon is Love and this Dreamon seems to be acting and controlling people out of wishes and desires.
Fundy should be a perfect candidate for the Egg to manipulate, isn't he? One of Fundy's most known characteristic is his research for love, affection and appreciation from people, and we know the egg has no problem using love to manipulate someone, because he is manipulating Bbh using his (platonic?) love for Skeppy against him.
So why the egg would cause a repulsing reaction to Fundy?
Tommy seems immune because he doesn't wish for anything right now, he has everything that he wants
Tubbo also has a repulsive reaction, but is not a hateful reaction but one driven by fear and sadness, the Egg purposefully trying to scare him away, probably to make him unable to fight against him
But why Fundy's reaction would be full-on hate?
I think the egg was trying to do with Fundy the same thing he's doing with Tubbo, scaring him so badly to drive them to the point where they cannot fight back out of complete fear, but it's not working.
It's not working because the Egg fears Fundy, fears how full of pure, unfiltered and unapologetic love his heart is, fears how he's the living representation of the fact that love, of any kind, is the strongest emotion out there. Fundy already was able to defeat a Dreamon because of his own love, and now that he's more emotionally stable and has decided to follow his heart more, mending relationship with people he loves even if they hurt him?
Fundy is an incredibly dangerous threat to the Egg.
So fear is not enough to keep the fox away, he cannot let him anywhere near his plans.
He fears that if he tried the fear treatment on Fundy, Fundy would be able to break out of the web of terror as soon as someone he loved was caught in the crossfire
So he tried pushing him away in a different way, using hate instead of fear, because since Fundy is such a love-driven person all around, the best way to keep him away is to use hate, just like Tubbo is often driven by hope and optimism, so the best way to keep him far fron where he could be a danger is to use sadness and fear.
Tl;dr: The Egg is making Fundy hate him because that's the only emotion that could actually keep Fundy away from him, because he, being a Dreamon, fears how full of love Fundy is.

May I ask for oneshot where reader sacrifices their golden core to Jiang cheng instead of Wei ying?
ioh my god. i love this idea. i hope you like what i’ve written. let me know if you enjoyed it! ♥ it turned out to be a bit long, im sorry. nearly 3k words tho.
Jiang Cheng x Reader
TW: burn wound, strong pain
Tumblr media
When the Yunmeng Jiang Clan was attacked and taken over by the Wen Clan, Wei Wuxian, Jiang Yanli, and their brother Jiang Cheng were on the run. Wen Chao had made no secret of it that all three had fleed and had to be found immediately.
The whole cultivation world has been in chaos since the Qishan Wen Clan roamed the streets, destroying any clan that was even remotely against them without blinking an eyelid. The consequences for anyone who tried to defend themselves against the Wen Clan were fatal. Unfortunately, this has also affected the Jiang Clan and the now three siblings on the run.
Like so many in the Wen Clan, you couldn't help but move along with them. You were born into the medical family in the clan and often helped your cousin Wen Qing and spent time with Wen Ning. He was only two years younger than you. All three of you weren’t particularly fond of how Wen Chao did deal with the whole situation but you had no other chance but to obey the orders, mostly because just like Wen Qing, you helped her protect Wen Ning who to you was just like a brother as well.
It had been a rather quiet week for the three of you when suddenly the doors opened and three people stood in the middle of Wen Qing’s property.  You had just created a few remedies when none other than Wei Wuxian, followed by his sister and Jiang Cheng, who appeared badly injured, appeared loudly and threatening.
Wen Qing seemed to be in control when you took care of Yanli. It seemed like she was a little weak so you gave her some medicine to strengthen her immune system and told her to take a rest for the day being. If she needed something, she could rely on you and ask for your help. You ended up talking to her and found out that both of you had quite a lot in common, turns out just like her, you weren’t so much into cultivation either, in fact your cultivation was low and you barely followed your interest in it. You were more of  a reserved person, calm as most would describe you, introverted and quiet. You worked behind the scenes and were quietly aknowledged for your wisdom regarding poison and antidotes.
Leaving to prepare more medicine and helping Wen Ning cook, you learned that Wen Zuhliu has taken Jiang Chengs golden core which made you drop your current pot of boiling water burning yourself in the process. Wen Ning gently and quietly took care of your hand as you joined Qing for dinner. Talking about the passed day and what happened.
You were discussing the biggest issue at hand while Ning was quietly listening, slurping his soup. “ Is there a solution to Young Master Jiang’s issue? Is there a way to restore his golden core? ” You asked your cousin wondering if something like this was possible. The hope you had was taken from you when your cousin explained that it wasn’t possible but young master Wei would not stop searching for a cure.
The next morning was your usual daily routine. You woke up, read through some books, prepared some medicine for Yanli and worked on more antidotes and poisons, liquid, powder and pills, even some scented sachets to help you walk through poisoned fog without losing your mind completely until noon hit. You were instructed to bring some soup for Jiang Cheng. Holding the dark tray with some freshly cooked notorious soup in your hands you over heard the conversation of the two brothers inside the room. Not keen on eavsdropping you waited and listened anyway.
“Did you feel it? ---- “ A deep voice filled with sadness spoke quietly, as if he knew all hope was lost. “Feel what?“ Another asked curiously as he waited for an answer. “Well, I used all my spiritual power...“ Silence, followed by holding your breath before he continued as you listened quietly behind the door. “..in that palm. So, did you feel it? ---- “  He repeated his question. Listening, knowing he had lost his golden core made you uncomfortable. You could care less about your own golden core and spiritual power as you did not particularly need it for what you were studying but in his voice alone you could hear the silence of defeat. There was no more will in his tone.
“ Well, do it again. Hit me again. “ Wei Wuxian spoke, trying to reassure his brother, but he only refused. “ No need. It’s the same, no matter how many times I hit you. --- Wei Wuxian, do you know how Core Melting Hand gets his title? “ Cheng continued, voice steady but without any melody. “Because he can use his hands to crush another person’s golden core. ---- Whoever is hit by him can never form his core and will become an ordinary man after losing your spiritual power. “ Their conversation went on but your thoughts kept spinning. You only ever heard highly of this young masters reputation. He was  arrogant and overconfident and exceptionally handsome, however, as to what you heard he seemed broken, not ready to be an ordinary man, as if it was the death sentence. It probably was the worst for any great cultivator to become ordinary, to become just a human being.
As you listened he got louder, talking about how Wen Zuhliu had taken their parents live and you immediately felt bad for the actions of the Wen Clan. You knew the situation was bad, but hearing things from the ones you helped while being a Wen yourself made you realize how much you truly did dislike being part of the cultivation world. With a quiet sigh you walked in, speaking up calmly, pretending you did not hear a word of what had been spoken you put the soup down on the table. “Hello young Master Wei. Young Master Jiang. --- Wen Qing instructed me to bring some soup for young master. ” You explained simply, bowed and left quickly.
The conversation you had been part of, if so secretly, had bothered you for the rest of the day until late night where eventually you got up and went to the study, looking and reading through the books, trying to figure out how to restore ones golden core after losing it. You could do only so much as to let out a frustrated sigh, rubbing your tired eyes. A sense of deep fault started to brew in your chest, being regretful as to what your clan had done wrong. This would hunt you for generations, if there would be anyone left.
You soon found out that  Wei Wuxian had the same thoughts as you. By any means you did not know any of the Jiang Clan family members, but after a long talk with Master Wei, you could eventually persuade him to let you help him find a solution to the problem until Qing, you and Wuxian were arguing as to why it was not possible to transfer one golden core to another person. The chances were low, one must have luck on their side for it to work but at some point the desicion had been made, nevertheless, it had taken lots of time for Wen Qing to be coaxed into this plan. You were fast to offer your core for the transplant and an explanation was barely needed, you only spoke a few words that night.
“ I barely cultivate. My core might not be the strongest but it is not the weakest either. I do not care for cultivation, I do not need to to study medicine, to make pills and antidotes for the poison I creat. ---- Besides, my family has created enough damage. Master Wei, I shall give Young Master Jiang my golden core. ---- “
The plan was easy. He had to follow a path up the hill where he would meet his brother’s mother Master who could restore his golden core by pretending to be Wei Wuxian, the pupils son. What you had not calculated was the never ending pain you went through for the next few days. The burning fire that went from your core all the way through your veins, on the edge of fainting every possible second, but that would mean, the moment you lost control of that, of your conciousness, was a lost core for another. You hanged in there with all your might to the point where you cried out of pain, a sound you never thought you could make would rip through the room. Your own sweat burning your eyes as you fought yourself, your vision soon had gone blurry from the dizziness in your head, the stinging pain in your head making you nauseous. It felt like as if you were torn apart from the inside, the pain was to another extend, something you could not explain in words, something no one could ever feel no matter how they would be tortured. You only had to withstand one more night and it was over and you could rest. Just one more night and the transfer of the golden core would be succsessful and you could lead a normal ordinary live.
TIME SKIP - THE TRUTH
You have lived an ordinary live in Yunmeng, quietly and in hiding after you clan had been more or less extinguished. It was odd for one Wen family member to live among the Jiang Clan in secret but you did the best you could to hide your identidy until Wei Wuxians return, who to your surprise brought along Wen Ning. You only observed from a distance but you could not be happier to see your cousin still alive and walking next to Young Master Wei.
It was only when you met Wen Qing in secret that Master Wei had found out and brought you into Lotus Pier which did cause you great trouble the moment you encountered Jiang Cheng, who to this day, still had not manage to control his temper. No Wen Clan member as expected to be alive and now to be faced with another one who was responsible for his family’s death had awoken something in him. Anger, rage, the fact that there was still a Wen walking in Lotus Peer alive and breathing. Not something one would expect after 16 years.
You had no right to be here and you knew that, if it was only for Wei Wuxian that you had stepped into this territory, only for Wen Ning who seemed to be still the same, even after so many years, even if he was at the same time different. He was still family and if you did meet your death today, so it be.
There he stood, the Zidian in his hands gave of an energy that you could feel. The atmosphere was threathening. You had long stopped carrying your sword, no longer in need for it but of course Jiang Cheng insisted on it. “ Do you expect me to fight you without your sword? -- First you dare to step into Lotus Peer and now you even disrespect the general rules of cultivation. ” He spoke arrogantly, though his voice was underlying with rage. One could tell he was furious. “ I’m not here to fight, Clan Leader Jiang. --- I simply wanted to meet Wen Ning, it has been so long. ” You admitted quietly, reserved as always. “ I do not wish to cause more trouble. As for my sword, I have long stopped carrying it as I do not need it.” You explained quietly and with a steady voice as you bowed and turned to leave, just in that moment you felt the heat of a burning sting against your back, sending you flying to the ground in pain. Just before the second it hit you again, you could see someone blocking the hit for you, the rustling of chains being heard.  The hit of the zidian was clearly something you did underestimate, especially now that you were weaker than before.
The only thing you could make out was that somebody picked you up as you heard a voice fainted in the background. Wei Wuxian has come to your side as Wen Ning explained the situation to him. It was a world known fact that nobody but yourself could draw their sword. It was in connection with your core, and once it died, it would seal itself forever.
“ Because the sword considers you as Wen Y/N. ---- ” Ning spoke, his features blank as he continued to explain the situation to Cheng. “What does that mean?” The clan leader furiously enquired, panic in his tone. “How can it consider me as her? ---- Why me? ”
“Because the golden core, functioning in your system is hers. “ Finally the truth had come to live. Something that had been hidden for more than 16 years. The endless nights of searching up methods of how to make it less painful, how to make it quick and most importantly if it could work at all where finally revealed.
Wen Ning kept on explaining everything to Jiang Cheng, whereas Wei Wuxian still held you in his arms checking to see if you were still breathing from the inpact of the Zidian you had suffered. Wen Ning could explain everything in detail to him, from the day he went up the hill, met that woman who was Wen Qing pretending, to how exactly they had transfered your golden core to him.
Jiang Cheng was in disbelief. He did not want to believe a single word from that came from Ning’s mouth. How could a Wen possibly this selfless and give up their own golden core. He tried to understand but now matter how he tried to process this, it did not make any sense to him. He was in utter disbelief, at a loss for words.
Again, he spoke. “You are talking nonsense. ---- ”
“I’m not. --  “ Ning countered.
“Shut up!“ He did not want to hear it. None of it. “ My golden core...My golden core...”
“It was repaired by Baoshan Sanren. ---“ The ghost general continued.
“ How do you know that? Wei Wuxian, --- What did you tell them? “
“ No! - Master Wei never told anyone about it. --  I saw it with my own eyes. “
“Liar! -- You were there? How could that be possible? “ Wanyin yelled at Ning. “ I was the only one that went up that mountain. There was no way that you followed me. “
Wen Ning kept on telling the whole story yet Jian Cheng still did not dare to believe a single word. It wasn*t possible. They must be lying, it was the only reasonable explanation to what was going on. Was he going insane? Why were they lying?
“ How did you know about it? -- “
“ I told you. -- I was there. Not just me. But also Master Wei, my sister and my cousin was there as well. “
This went on for minutes, minutes that did feel like hours explaining why a stone could not float in the water.
“That is not true. You are lying. --- Then why was my golden core repaired?“
“It was never repaired! “ Wen Ning yelled loudly.
“ No, no, no. NO!“
“Clan Leader Jiang. You should have seen it coming. The reason why you thought your core was repaired was my sister Wen Qing, the best doctor of the Wen Clan of Qishan and the sacrifice of my cousins golden core, Wen Y/N. “
At this point, he had no words left, his vision had become blury. He did feel regret towards you. You gave him shelter, you gave him medicine and did treat him with respect, yet your name was tainted with blood shed of his family for all eternity which he simply could not forget. Will never forget, refused to forget.
“She removed Lady Y/N golden core and transplanted it into you. -- Even if she was supposed to fight you today, her spiritual power is weak. If she did draw the sword, she could not last very long. --- She is a Wen, of the Wen Clan. My cousin. ---- We are hated by the whole world. Where could she possibly go. If people had found out earlier that she was still alive, she would have been gone long enough. She had suffered for three nights and two days straight. She did have to be awake throughout the whole procedure. ---- It was painful. “
Jiang Cheng was shedding tears for someone he barely knew or maybe because he could not believe the act of kindness this was.
“She gave up her core because she did not need it. She did not mind being ordinary but the most important thing was, she felt guilty for all the things Wen Chao had done to your family, to all the families that were slaughtered because of our clan. --- She sacrificed herself as a reimbursement to the loss that had been inflicted to you.  Y/N had heard your conversation of how you could not stand being an ordinary man. -----  “
The scene fell quiet, as you were carried away bei Wuxian, closely followed by Wen Ning. Devastation was written all over his face, he became numb, the words echoing in his head, the memories of back then flashing before his eyes. He wondered how much she must’ve suffered? The pain she had to endure during those days.
However,  how was he able to accept the fact that a Wen had given their golden core to him? The family, the clan he did despise the most.

About the scene with Taelia and Bolvar
Such a short scene but quite interesting to discuss. I'm one of those people who thinks that the best writers are those who write for the smaller plots, instead of the main "Jaina and friends versus world apocalypse".
At first, it's good to see that Kul'tiras actually mattered. Some of the best BFA plots (Zandalar, Lilian Voss and Derek Proudmoore) have been very forgotten, as if BFA hadn't been canon except for Teldrassil.
Also, Bolvar has been the biggest punching bag of this expansion, so he needs a bit of screentime. Not necessarily a fight, but an aknowledgement of who he is.
So, what to think about the dialogue?
Well, I've already seen people hating on Taelia. I hope it's the same four scattered incels that claim that WoW has become "feminazi" while denying how Blizzard treats women, but nevermind.
Taelia's feelings make her very human. She's free to tell her father of how she's feeling, he should know. Imagine being the daughter of a "hero", everyone giving condolences of how he fought for the light and others having to lie to her if they know the truth. Imagine going to another place, earning a whole new life with people that matter to you enough to fight for them. And then discovering that the one thing that has been told to you since you were little is a lie, and that the "hero" you always heard of has become a full new person.
It's not like Taelia is telling her father that he shouldn't have saved Azeroth. She's just telling him that not being able to help him during all that time brings her pain. We see how she told the truth when speaking about making that sacrifice, because we've already fought with her side by side, and we've seen how she's in the Shadowlands now.
She's telling him something like "I know why you did all of this, but I need time to assimilate all that's happening to us right now, because I don't know how to act". It is incredibly human. It is more true than Arator's meeting with his parents. Even if the circumstances were different, both were presumed dead at some moment, at least Sylvanas thought so. And he was raised by one of his genocidal aunts and Rhonin, so he had it "easier" than Taelia, who went to a whole new place. But his meeting went like:
-Oh, Arathor, we're so sorry that we left, we love you so mu- Oh, wait. Time to go again.
-Okay then. May the light be with you.
Taelia's reaction is way better than most people who see their families becoming Forsaken, she just needs time. She's not saying her father's not enough, but both of them have to work on their relationship. They will also have more time to bond, even though probably off-screen. The thing is whether he'll die because of the crown or something else, but probably not.
About Cyrus
The conversation was a bit similar to Draka & Thrall's about "tell me who you've become during these years". Bolvar really had to know how his daughter had been all this time, so WoW's language for that is "tell me how you learnt to fight".
And Taelia, of course, mentioned her other father, the one who raised her. It's only normal. Cyrus has always been there for her, even when Kul'tiras was facing its darkest time. So he can be considered her father as well.
I'm sure both men would admire each other if they met. Both have been important in their world, and both care a lot for Taelia. Just imagine some fic of them meeting and sharing some drinks and stories. Bolvar just visiting Kul'tiras in general.
What else would I like to happen?
I literally have no hopes for it, but some of the characters deserve better writing than what will probably be delivered to them. But the thing that would give these people true closure (besides Arthas, of course), is meeting Tirion again.
Tirion was done very dirty in Legion, like Vol'jin. But there are so many people that are tied to him. Darion, Bolvar, Uther... Even Jaina if you consider her shitty father, or other dead characters.
He was important to both Horde and Alliance, even before Arthas' defeat. So he deserves at least a hug.
I don't know how his death at Gul'dan's hands works (same with Varian), so perhaps he's not even able to be in the Shadowlands. At this time, I just know that the writers won't mention him at all. But there are many content creators out there.
Also, WOD and BFA are far more canon than SL for me, but there's some little things that can still be discussed.

I Was There For You in Your Darkest Times
Summary: Cool and confident 16 year old John Lennon meets a shy and broken Paul McCartney, 15, still reeling from his mother's death. When John loses his mother a year later Paul helps him through it.
Pairing: John x Paul (platonic)
Warnings: like one curse word
Author's note: I'm so excited this is my first fanfiction! Overarching note for all of my works...I don't own the Beatles haha
John Lennon rushed down the hallway on his way to class at Quarry Bank High School. He bumped into a boy slowly crossing the corner. He knew he recognized the kid, it was Paul McCartney. Something about Paul always confused him; he got a vibe from him like something was wrong but he couldn't figure out what. People made fun of him a lot and John didn't really engage with them because something about Paul made him feel like he didn't need more problems.
They collided and Paul fumbled to pick up his books trying to spit out an apology but just sounding muffled and anxious.
"I- sorry I didn't um, I didn't mean to"
"No worries man, my fault." John said while handing him his books and looking at Paul for a moment, trying to read him.
The boys went their separate ways heading to their own classes but John couldn't get Paul out of his mind for the rest of the afternoon and evening.
"Had Paul always been so nervous and quiet?" He thought to himself on the way home. Granted, he didn't know Paul personally but he had seen him around the last few years and something had definitely changed about him as of late.
John sat at home fiddling with his guitar and writing the first few verses to a song about a mystery boy (obviously influenced by his curiosity about Paul's story). He always turned to music when he couldn't get something off his mind. Sure, it wasn't necessarily a quick fix but it helped.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
For the next couple of days John just kept watching Paul. Not to be like a stalker or anything but he wanted to kinda know if he was ok. Problem is you don't just approach someone you've spoken to like twice to ask if they're going through something so he was at a loss.
Anyway, John had a free period so he headed down to the auditorium following a brief stop at his locker to get his guitar. He always went there there to practice in peace since it was empty during fifth period.
When he turned the corner he could swear he heard a voice but couldn't figure out who it was. He peered into the room and saw Paul McCartney huddled on the floor clearly trying not to cry.
"Hey man, are you ok?"
*sniff* "I'm fine, just leave me alone."
"I'm not going to tell anyone about this so if you want to tell me what's wrong, you can."
"I- um... today's a year since my mom passed away."
"Paul. I-I'm so sorry."
"Breast cancer"
"I had no idea"
"Is that a guitar?" Paul looked over to John's hand.
"Yeah! Do you play?"
"Yes! And bass too, that's my favorite."
"no way that's sick. We should play some time. Come by after school?"
"Yeah! I'm down, that sounds fun."
The bell rang and the boys went their separate ways; John with a new understanding of what Paul was going through and Paul happy that someone wanted to talk to him about something other than how he had been coping for the last year.
At the end of the day John and Paul made eye contact and headed to their own houses aknowledging that they were going to get together later.
Later they hung out at John's house playing around different musical snippets. John, with a little hesitation at the thought of bringing of bringing up mothers, answered Paul's question saying that it was his mom that got him into music and bought him his first guitar
"That's awesome! Does your dad play?"
"Well I uh, don't know my dad so I couldn't tell you." John chuckled nervously.
"Oh I'm sorry."
"Nah it's no big deal, he's a piece of shit anyway. My mom's the great one, I wish I saw her more often."
"Why don't you? If you don't mind me asking."
"She's actually not that far. It's just that she's with this guy and my Aunt Mimi wouldn't let me live with them cause it was too cramped or whatever, so here I am. We still talk often though"
"that's good" Paul said wistfully.
"Oh sorry, we can change the subject"
Paul nodded.
The rest of the night went on and Paul left a couple of hours later to go home.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
For the next few weeks John and Paul hung out at each other's houses almost every day after school just to play guitar and do homework and stuff. John noticed a change in Paul's disposition, he was still really hurt over his mom and that wasn't going to go away, but he seemed even close to happy for the first time since he lost her. Apparently Jim McCartney noticed it too because one night he pulled John aside before the two boys went up to practice and thanked him for being there for Paul. Of course John wasn't doing it for thanks, he really like hanging out with Paul, but he was glad it was doing something good.
One night at John's house Paul quietly brought up that he had been working on writing some original music.
"I um, wrote some lyrics this past week. I don't know if you want to hear them. Maybe you can help me come up with the riff for transition from verse to chorus."
"Yeah of course, let me here 'em"
"Well, I woke up late this morning my head was in a whirl only then I realized I lost my little girl oh, oh, oh, oh. Well, her clothes were not expensive her hair didn't always curl I don't know why I love her but I love my little girl oh, oh, oh, oh."
"And then I think the chorus is going to be: Well, gather 'round people let me tell you the story the very first song I wrote. But I don't know if that sounds stupid or where to go from there and I need help with that transition."
"Wow- the uh, the lyrics are beautiful, Paul."
"Thanks. Any advice for those parts?"
"C to Am?"
"let's give that a shot."
John and Paul were constantly with each other at school, always hanging out at home too and never far from a guitar. They quickly grew to be very good friends and Paul hung out with John's other friends in the group.
The school year was winding down. John and Paul lived pretty close to each other so they planned on basically spending the whole summer playing music together with the rest of the guys. On the last day of school they said goodbye but of course they weren't apart for long. For the entire month of June Paul was either with John and his other friends or with George.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
The middle of July rolled around and suddenly Paul didn't really hear from John and he couldn't figure out what was up. They didn't have a fight and it seemed that none of the other guys had talked to him either.
After a few days of not wanting to smother John during whatever was going on Paul had to check on him so he went to his house to at least see if Mimi could tell him anything.
"Hey is John around?"
Mimi stood in the doorway with tears in her eyes, it looked like she had been crying for days
"Is everything ok?"
"Let me see if he'll come talk to you."
"John? Paul's downstairs. You should really talk to him if you're ready, he's worried."
"I'm coming. I'm going to tell him."
John walks down the stairs into the living room where Paul is waiting near the doorway.
"Hey John. Are you ok?"
"Let's take a walk, I need to talk to you."
"Is everything alright?"
They walked for a moment and John readied himself to say what he was about to say. Paul was the first person he told and he was trying to prepare himself even though no amount of waiting would make this any easier.
"My uh, my mom was killed a couple of days ago, died in a car crash." John said, barely above a whisper.
Paul froze. He didn't have specific proof that they were in this part of their friendship yet but he had to go with his gut. He leaned in and gave John a hug and they just stood there for a moment.
When they pulled away Paul took a look at John while he wiped his eyes. He had never seen him like this before. John was strong and nothing ever really got to him but he had never looked so broken. Paul remembered that feeling unfortunately and while his mom passed away under different circumstances he still knew all too well the pain of losing someone so important so young.
John was never one for showing his emotions, even to his best friend. Though if he had to cry in front of someone it wouldn't have been anyone else.
Paul tried his hardest to keep John out of the really dark place he found himself in last year before they met. The trauma that comes from losing a parent so young will never be erased and there was nothing anyone could do to make that better but Paul's priority was keeping his best friend from being consumed by this. He knew what it was like to lose yourself and he wasn't going to let that happen to John.
Eventually John told the rest of his friends what had happened, with Paul by his side for moral support, but he didn't really hang out much the rest of the summer. The only person he ever really saw was Paul because he wouldn't leave him alone for too long. John wasn't the best with words so he didn't know how to say it, but he didn't know what he would've done without Paul that summer.
"Are you ready?" Paul asked as he turned to John before looking at the big doors to Quarry Bank High School.
"As ready as I'll ever be."
The two made their way into school with a new closeness between them, an understanding of what it's like to experience living hell and survive it.
That shared experience was part of what brought John to immediately include Paul in the lineup for The Quarrymen, a group initially consisting of John, Pete, Eric, Colin, Rod, and Len. The group evolved a year later when, at Paul's request, George was added.
This gave John and Paul something to distract themselves with and direct their attention to instead of how much they missed their moms. The Quarrymen performed at dances, school events, etc. When they moved in the direction of rock and roll, only John, Paul, and George remained.
If it wasn't for John and Paul meeting and helping each other through the hard times it would've been so much harder to get to the good ones.

Emily in Paris or why I stopped caring about the protagonist and I started rooting for the French. Episode 1.
Let’s be clear. I was planning to root for the French anyway. They are in the neighbouring country, I quite like them and I was prepared to confront and make fun about all the stereotypes in this series. Because this was exactly what I expected. Funny, lighthearted and totally braindead (wink wink) escapism in an instagrammed to the top Paris which has the same resemblance with the real one than Vincent Minelli’s... But without Gene Kelly. So what did I think of the first episode?
Meet Emily Cooper from Chicago. She’s young, she is dynamic, she struggles to be liked by everyone and at the beginning of the series. She is a marketing executive about to be promoted or so she thinks.
Tumblr media
... Because her boss Madeline (played by Kate Walsh) is going to Paris in order to take work with Savoir, a luxury firm the company (sorry I forgot its name) has just adquired. Madeline is overjoyed because working for a year in Paris is one of her dreams and because French men like mature women, as probed by the fact that their young and hot (sic, but this blog agrees) president married his high school teacher. We’ll never know which plans Madeline had for Frenchmen, whether they are young or hot or not. The case is after two minutes in the series she vomits, which means she’s pregnant and she can’t go anywhere because it’s an truth universally aknowledged that pregnant women can’t go on with their plans.
Tumblr media
It’s in the next scene when we meet Emily’s boyfriend, Doug, and when we learn she’s going to Paris in Madeline’s place, in spite of being unprepared and not knowing the language. At this point one wonders how it’s possible that no one else in the company can replace Madeline. All of them are monolingual? Our plucky heroine is not discouraged by the litle fact of knowing virtually nothing about the country in which she’s going to live during the next twelve months. She and Doug - the moment you see the scene you know it wont’ go well - agree on a long distance relationship.
Tumblr media
And after a very well done transition, we have crossed the ocean. Yes, this is well done, and I say it unironically. Episodes are short, your show is called Emily in Paris, so, what’s better than having your main lady already in the French capital in less than five minutes. The series goes to the point in this aspect and it’s a good thing to spare us of unnecesary scenes.
Tumblr media
So Emily arrives to her apartment with pretty views, confused about in which floor she’s supposed to live (running gag ahead) and already hit on by a French guy on a suit that looks like the love child of Gabriel Attal and Albert Rivera (check it, seriously). I couldn’t take him seriously not only because of that but also because he said that Emily’s appartment was a chambre de bonne. Not by any means. Look, I’ve never lived in Paris but I know that apartment is huge when compared with a real chambre de bonne.
Tumblr media
Off to know her working place, Emily has this HUGE smile pasted on her face. I don’t know if this supposed to make her charming and likeable. For me - it’s true than I have this European perspective - she looks a mix between an anxious puppy and a psychopath. I would be scared and would avoid her at all costs. The cultural clash is about to happen.
Tumblr media
Yeah, I would look at her too, Julien a.k.a. token black character. You have probably heard about the lack of diversity in this series, I won’t abound in that, others have worded it better. It also an established fact that French people smokes at their workplace, even if in the European Union we have these things called smoking bans that won’t allow it.
Tumblr media
And enter Sylvie, Emily’s Parisian boss and supposed main antagonist, à la Devil wears Prada. What to say about Sylvie other than I adore her? Her clothes, her style, her sarcasm. As any rational being would do, Sylvie is pretty dismayed to learn that Emily does not have the slightest idea of French and its already wanting to impose her American perspective and her alleged knowledge of social media. The problem is I don’t know if her posts on Instagram really deserve that much attention. Clash ensues with the rest of her new coworkers. C’est la cata! they comment. I quite agree.
Tumblr media
Our fish-out-of-water takes an evening afterwork stroll (this Paris is like one square kilometer and public transport is something you mention but never appears) and calls her boyfriend to state the entire city looks like Ratatouille, which legitimately made me laugh. I am not sure if this reference means that Emily’s filmic culture is that limited or if it’s her boyfriend the one who only knows a movie which takes place in Paris and that’s one is Ratatouille. We know that Emily at least has seen Moulin Rouge and that makes two so probably is Doug’s fault.
Tumblr media
Back at home, and since she has forgotten how to count, Emily attempts to open the wrong door. Immediately a wild Frenchman appears; it’s Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo probably one of these young hot men Madeline would target. He takes the intrusion reasonably well. Especially when it’s discovered that Emily only knows his region, Normandy, from Saving Private Ryan. That makes three films, so definitely I think Doug is the problem here as far as filmic culture goes.
Tumblr media
Next day Emily picks a yellow outfit and goes to work, purchasing a pain au chocolat in her way to work. I confess I was underwhelmed when discovered that there wouldn’t be any joke about the Great Civil War that has been going on in France since its earliest days: the partidaries of pain au chocolat vs. the ones of chocolatine. A ferocious, merciless conflict unknown by most nations. A lost opportunity not making this woman someone from the South who bravely defies Parisian conventions calling it chocolatine. I’m team pain au chocolat btw. Naturally when she discovers the wonderful world of flavours she makes another Instagram post. She’s earning more and more followers, Heavens know why.
Tumblr media
However, she has a Big Problem with Doing Research. Example given, she doesn’t know her schedule - a problem which could have been solved with reading numbers - and arrives two hours early to her workplace.
Tumblr media
Once there she discovers she can’t sit with the cool kids. No one wants to lunch with her, so she decides to miserably sit by herself at the park, where we met her best new friend. Her name’s Mindy, she’s from Shangai and she’s working as au pair, while teaching Mandarin to the two blond children she’s looking after. We’ll later discover more about her. She instantly detects the American in Emily and offers her help to this awkward but at the same time arrogant newcomer.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile at Savoir, Emily has earned a sobriquet. La Plouc, which is adopted by Sylvie and most of her coworkers even if Luc seems more or less reluctant to say it. La Plouc means the hick, as she instantly discovers thanks to an online translator. It’s really not a good day for our heroine, and she cames back home - remember that thing about this Paris being one square kilometer? - walking. Co-worker and someone who  for some resason reminds me to the posh-y version of Philippe Poutou - check it - Luc passes by as she sits lonely by herself and apologizes for calling her la Plouc earlier. He also claims she’s arrogant for coming to Paris without speaking or even understanding French - which is true - and tells her people is probably scared as her new, modern ideas. Which makes no sense at all and it’s probably a white lie.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile and for some reason her totally inocuous posts in Instagram makes her earn more and more followers. During the night, her oblivious to timezones boyfriend call her and they have - or attempt to have - a totally awkward and unsexy session of cybersex. At the end Emily is so frustrated that she tries to use her electric vibrator which leads to the short-circuit of the entire building. Fortunately before she has the oportunity of getting closer to the device in question. And that’s how Episode 1 ends.
What did I think? It’s fun and pretty to look at. Even prettier to rant about. As long as your brain remains carefully shut off in the meantime and you don’t take it that seriously you are going to enjoy it I guess. At least it’s my case.
Still frustrated for not covering the Great Civil War tho.

Im the list anon again and boy do I have more for you but this time I also have some questions as well if your time allows and you are willing to answer of course. First with the other things I loved:
1) the fact that Ron warmed up to Draco so quickly! I genuinely think thats so much in character. Ron is not a distrustful person and as a middle child as they come is very easygoing and would for sure make stupid jokes at Draco
2) The patronus. My god the Patronus. I seriously put the phone down and made a small slow clap during that chapter. At first I was like hmmmm *insert unsure kombucha girl face* because almost all fanfics have him with a dragon patronus and leave it at that (and lets be honest at this point my expectations of you were quite high dont blame me blame your bloody brilliant writing) but then, and I dont know if you did this on purpose or not (I have a feeling you did) but the fact that the dragon was the same (pale white) wounded but still feral dragon that Hermione FREEED (!) from a bank (£££) dungeon, malnourished and used for its nature, surrounded by darkness, wealth and misery!! And it was Hermione who broke its chains!!!!! Is just *chefs fucking kiss* slow clap*
3) the way you describe sex scenes are so natural! Ive never read a fanfic or book that doesnt make me gag a little bit (I am not a fan of smut at all but ill go with it because of a good story) until I read yours. Its so simple but yet intricate and you make the entire act so intriguing and normal and intimate. Bravo.
4) I LOVE SASHA. I love that Theo fell for her head over heels and the way you portrayd her reminded me of a friend of mine who works as a sous-chef in London so I always pictured her when reading it!
5) Dracos inner voice is ON POINT. Like I genuinely think you shoud own the rights to that character now.
6) Ill say it again. I love Ginny. You should also own the rights to her character too.
7) my interest for Quiddich (even when reading the books/wathcing the movies) was on par, if not lower than Hermiones. You managed to get me interested in that too so yes another slow clap to you
7.1) Also such a clever career for Draco!! Made si much sense!
Now to some questions
A) What was the deal with Malfoy referring to Ginny as Weasly and refusing to aknowledge her Potter surname. And why did everyone kept correcting him? It was hilarious granted but I wanted to know whether the reason you included this time and time again had to do wih something deeper? Or was this included as just a funny recurring joke?
B) Why did you choose for Draco to have a “fantasy” to produce a patronus and not for example for him to have had to do that after theyd exchanged “i love yous”. Very interesting angle and i liked that it was sort of a loophole to all the ‘death eaters cant have patronuses’ but quite curious on the thought process
C) Why did you opt for Draco to remove his mark? Do you think that stands as reward for him more or for Hermione? Very smart solution by the way
D) if you have the time- Could you please elaborate a tad more on what the soul-bonding means? Why was it so taboo? At furst hand it seems like a very romantic/amazing thing to do with your partner right?
Lastly- Do you ever itch to make a second part to this? And in the most acceptable case that you dont, I always wondered what you had in mind for them in the future- because of the soul bonding thing, you mentioned that the generational curses will be erased, which means I guess that the Malfoys can have more than one child now, and girls as well. (I cannot believe im asking for this as I am the one to avoid any pregnancy fanfics but) do you imagine them with children and if yes, how many? How do they integrate muggle devices(I know youd agree wit me that Hermione would definitively bring some muggle stuff over!) and which devices would Draco really secretly like?
Pleasewriteasecondpartwhereyouelaborateyourthoughtsonthisthankyou.
Ok rant done. :D
List anon! You’re back with another amazing ask. I’ll do my best!
1.) I like to think Ron matured a lot post-war (not enough to stop making terrible jokes, though.)
2.) Regarding your beautiful analysis of my specific dragon breed for Draco’s patronus: How many points would you like for your Hogwarts house of choice? I will add that according to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the Ironbelly’s scales are normally a metallic grey. I will also add that I subscribe more to book canon than movie canon. In the book version of events of the Gringotts escape, Harry breaks the chains and Hermione (with eventual help once the boys catch on) destroys the ceiling so it can have a way out. The partially blind dragon does the rest of the work on its own.
3.) Thank you, that’s very flattering.
4.) Does your friend also get you into fancy restaurants and can they make salted caramel bread pudding???
5.) Thank you, it was one of my favorite aspects of writing this story.
6.) Thank you, she’s so fun to write and flesh out from her book portrayal.
7.) Haha, I felt so validated by that line of dialogue in Cursed Child when Draco tells Harry he wanted to play quidditch professionally, but wasn’t good enough.
Now to some answers:
A.) It’s definitely a recurring joke. It’s up to the reader to interpret Draco’s actions here: is he doing it to be a massive troll? Or is he genuinely not retaining the information of her married name because he considers this fact so unimportant that he does not bother to keep it in his brain? Troll, snob, or both, you can decide!
B.) I’ll address the second part of this first, because it was not intended as a loophole. I 1000% do not understand the “death eaters can’t have patronuses” thing. It makes absolutely no sense. Snape has a Patronus. But beyond that… Umbridge has a Patronus (a cat). If we’re letting that woman have a Patronus, then yeah, I think Draco can cast one. As for the vision that Draco used to conjure it… up to you whether that’s a fantasy or a glimpse of a certain ritual actually working. Draco’s thoughts on the matter: “An image of such striking tangibility that he might have already lived it, or perhaps experienced time in such a way that he lived it now.”
C.) I wanted Draco to have a choice, obviously a recurring theme for him in RN. For my characterization of him, that symbol on his arm causes him nothing but shame and self-loathing (see the end of chapter 36 during his heart-to-heart with Hermione). He’d already exercised almost every known avenue to rid himself of it before Hermione entered his life (he lists these in chapter 44). Hermione already loved him (and has told him so) by the time she’s figured out how to remove it: “I love the man you are today and I will love that man tomorrow, bare forearm or not. I simply wanted you, for once, to have the choice. It’s your body.”
D.) Ooh anon, you are tempting me here. I really hate to be coy, but you might see some future writing on this very topic.
I can at least answer the taboo part: I think soul magic in general (horcruxes, the use of unicorn blood) is quite taboo in the HP universe. As no one knows what happens after death (not even ghosts, Nearly Headless Nick says as much when Harry asks him point-blank in OoTP) I think most magical folk would think the intense ritual (blending magical cores) an unnecessary thing anyway. As Draco explains in chapter 48, since no one actually knows the effects or if it works, it’s considered a bit over-the-top since it’s probably futile anyway. It is also not a Vow with a death component; Narcissa is obviously alive in this story even though Lucius is already dead. I wrote the generational curse protection theory in as a dig at Cursed Child for the way they handled Astoria’s character.
The idea of it I think is romantic, but I will stress it is very dependent upon the intent of the two participants. To quote Draco in chapter 48 again: “To twine one’s soul to another showed a willingness to not only physically tether one’s self during your time here on earth, but to commit to a blending of your magical cores, putting faith in your magic to recognize its bonded counterpart in another life. Should other lives even exist.”
If you re-read Draco’s experience during the bonding ceremony in chapter 51 (starting from this bit: “The cognizance of his own powers never felt sharper, more familiar, but suddenly another power pulsed within to join with his.”) you might find it bears a resemblance to the trajectory of their relationship.
Lastly- I’ve left Draco and Hermione to their wedded bliss. I’ve got nothing planned for them beyond where they are in the final lines of chapter 51. I don’t have that itch to write more into their future because it would feel forced. Draco laid out his two envisioned futures with Hermione in chapter 48 when they discuss having or not having children. They are happy and content in the life they chose together. That’s all I ever wanted for them.
You will see more from this story though. I have an entire series of one-shots and outtakes from the published Remain Nameless timeline that I’ll start posting soon.
Thank you so much list anon! These were fun to answer!

ok but
we all love human aus
and high school aus
so i raise you
elwin, who is the school nurse, and his husband, huz, who is the school therapist
keefe, who has been coming in more and more often over the weeks to see elwin
he isnt injured, or sick, he just. comes in, grab and blanket and sleep on one of the cots
or sometimes on the floor, even though there are free cots
and obviously, elwin is worried, because this 16 years old kid, who he sees everyday because he says hello and goodbye, and sometimes needs a place to hide or an alibi after a prank just. doesnt do that anymore. bot really
he looks exhausted, and elwin has tried to talk to him about it to know if hes sleeping ok, if hes not working himself too hard, but he never got an answer jeefe just flashing him a smile and coming up with some excuse
he wants to help, but hes afraid that if hes just straightforward with him keefe would lose the safespace that is the infirmary and he doesnt want to take that away from him.
one day, keefe walks in, not saying hello, just looking particularily rough, deep bags under his eyes, blotchy skin like hed been crying.
he falls face first into the cot, and elwin can see he isnt sleeping, still.
and he wants to do as he said he would to let h come at his own pace, and all that, but fuck he looks like he really needs a hug
elwin sits down on the cot, and keefe pushes himself up to sit besides him.
"do you want a hug ?" keefe nods and buries his face in elwins chest, who holds him tight for as long as he needs to.
keefe doesnt talk about why this is happening, but from then on, he just goes straight to hug elwin if he needs it (and elwin isnt like, helping someone) (if he is, keefe just crashes on the bed, and elwin comes to see if he needs like, cuddles or something as soon as hes done)
(just. parental elwin ok)
if he needs to be with someone, because on a whim, elwin gave him a key to the infirmary
he hopes keefe doesnt have to use it outside of school, but sometimes you gotta be prepared for the worst, and he still doesnt know exactly what is going on
keefe doesnt talk much about anything when hes in the infirmary, just dozes off so
anyways, he meets lord and lady sencen during the aprent teacher thing, and everything clicks
he runs into them in a hall, while theyre talking about just how bad keefe did that year, only "scraping a 97 in some classes" and he doesnt know exactly what these people have been telling keefe but hes this close to punching them right then and there
he makes a point of letting keefe know just how smart his teachers knew him to be, and that most of them didnt mind him not being in class if he was bored, as long as he did the tests and turned in his assignments, which he did
also how all the pranks that had been pulled on alina had become a running joke amongst them. how she was the only one who didnt know it was keefe pulling the pranks, but everyone else found them hillarious
fintan, bronte tiergan prentice come in sometimes as well
fintan is deseperatly trying to get keefe back on his play, prentice finds keefe to be the only one worthy to talk with him about art, and bronte and tiergan are just here by proxy
(and to keep their husband/brother in check)
(they went to school with keefes parents, and honestly theyre all this close to coming beat thel up in their sleep, but fintan and prentice are just a bit closer to actually dping it)
one day, what elwin really didnt want to hapen happened. keefe was already ther when he opened the infirmary
he could have just come in eatly or whatever, but he was wearing the exact same clothes as the day before
and he knew keefe had friends that would take him in if he asked them to, but he also knew keefe probably didnt want them to know somethi g had hapened
"do you want to caome stay with me ?" he asks when keefe blinks awake.
he didnt really mind keefe sleeping in the infirmary, even though it was proably forbidden by the school or whatever, but the cots were kinda uncomfortable
hes surprised keefe agrees
he drives them to the sencens first, so keefe can grab clothes, phone, laptop, and anything else he needs, then to his place
thankfulky he has a guest bedroom
keefe seriously cannot stop thanking him and he really doesnt need to elwin tells him, he offered after all, and he wouldnt have done so if he didnt want keefe to be there
what was probably supposed to be a few days turns into a month, then two, and honestly elwin doesnt mind (at all)
just, lzt this boy heal in peace
gisela wants to get him back, though, after a while
and she would have the upper land, both legally and emotionally if keefe sisnt just straight up refuse to see her
and she knows she doesnt have that many chances to win a lawsuit if keefe hadnt been home in 2 months and is testifying againt them
so yeah, elwin just recieves a bunch of death threats, but he can deal with that, and he has cameras installed that send a live feed to his friend tinker wjo lives a few states away so he feels pretty safe knowing they wouldnt be able to destroy the tapes
keefe doesnt come in to the infirmary nearly as much these days, and he looks less tired as well
he joins the school play, and prentice reports that hes been using the art room a bunch as well
fintan helps him prank alina again
bonus :
the first time keefe calls elwin dad was as a joke
"okayo daddy-o"
neither of them aknowledge it , but they bith know it happe.ed and honestly they arent mad about it
the moment it really starts to be a Thing for them though, is the next year, at the parent teacher conference, when keefe gives him the invite.
"you know, since.... youre basically my dad now."
"ill be there son"
keefe sends him a 10 hour loop of the "you are my dad" vine for fathers day
they dont really bother with guardianship, because keefe will be 18 the year after, and his "parents" havent tried anything in months
even the threats stopped
elwin definitely walks keefe dosn the aisle

My thoughts on the last episode of Little Fires Everywhere
Even though I haven’t read the book, I knew what happened there. So, fair warning: there will be book spoilers (particularly for some stuff that is different in the show).
I’ve already written about my thoughts on the custody battle, so I won’t repeat myself. I’ll say this: the questions that Bebe’s lawyer asked Linda were right on the money, and they match my own opinion on the matter. I’m a bit conflicted on whether Bebe did the right thing by taking May Ling, but I think that the parallel with Mia is interesting: it’s implied that Bebe will always be on the run with the baby, just like Mia was with Pearl. In the book, Bebe goes to China with May Ling, while in the show, she goes to Canada. It’s an interesting choice. Also, in the book, Linda and her husband eventually adopt another Chinese baby. The show ends before that happens (maybe we’ll see it in a Season 2, if there is one).
Speaking of Mia and Pearl, I really liked the way things were resolved. Pearl had every right to be mad, but she also came to understand why Mia did what she did. I liked that Mia gave Pearl the choice of where to go and Pearl chose to go, not to New York, to meet her father, but to the house of Mia’s parents. It would be interesting to see how they react to seeing her.
Mia’s confrontation with Elena was powerful. Everything she said was on point: Elena hates Mia because Mia is a constant reminder of the kind of life Elena didn’t have. I also loved Mia’s smug face when Elena brought up the abortion; she knew she was about to tear Elena apart.
Bill pissed me off just as much as Elena here. I have zero sympathy for him: yeah, Elena was the one who destroyed the family, but Bill stood by and watched. Not once has he tried to stop Elena’s emotional abuse of Izzy. Also, he’s just as racist as Elena. He tried to paint himself as the victim, but he definitely isn’t.
“I’m not perfect!” “Yes, you are!” This scene was amazingly done. Elena needs to believe Lexie is perfect. She needs to believe that she has at least one daughter who’s a mini version of her. Otherwise, what was the point? What was the point of “giving up her freedom”, as she says? Later, her fake confession about starting the fire, serves two purposes: protect her children and aknowledging her complete and utter failure. Starting the fire is a metaphor, just like the little fires of the title: she destroyed her family, and this is the first time she truly understands that. Her going after Izzy (and actually calling her Izzy) is too little, too late. Who knows where Izzy is? We last see her on a bus, dreaming that she met up with Mia on the road. Maybe that’s what will happen in the future.
In the book, Izzy starts the fire. In the show, it’s Lexie, Trip and Moody. I don’t know how I feel about that change. Throughout the story, Izzy was given plenty of motives to do it. The other kids? Not so much. I feel like their motives appeared too fast and too suddenly. It was foreshadowed in the first episode though: one of the boys says “They’ll find a way to blame Izzy” and Lexie answers “They always do”.
This finale left us with a lot of hanging threads concerning Mia’s parents, Pearl’s dad, Izzy, the future of the Richardsons, Bebe and May Ling, Linda and her husband and so on. I would really like to see a follow up to all of that. I know that there’s no more story in the book, but I still think a Season 2 is very possible here. Personally, I would love to see it.
This show had better get a lot of Emmy nominations, especially for acting, because everyone brought their a-game for this. Truly, an amazing show.

Alex jumped at the sound of loud bangs, yelling and gun fire, blinking the fogginess from her eyes and letting out a groan, trying to move her hands to try and rub at her head but found them tied up behind her with a rope that is digging into the soft skin of her palms uncomfortably
"What?" Alex asked confusedly, taking in her surrounding for a moment, having forgotten where she was for a moment.
"Oh." Alex let out after it dawned on her like a slap in the face.
"WHO INVITED YOU TWO?! Not that I'm complaining, Miss Luthor will be ecstatic to get her hands on such prized aliens." A guard yelled out, firing his gun again as Alex tried to look but couldn't.
"Oh I doubt that even a dick can get her ecstatic, not than anyone would even touch her with a 10 feet pole in the first place." You said smuggly, arms crossed over the silver wolf head logo on your chests matted black armored suit.
Kara eyes widened at your words, thinking to herself 'Yep, sarcastic, foul mouted and dirty just like before.'
The guard almost let out a snort at your choice of words but immediately regained his composure, firing at you again.
"What's it with ya mortals? Bullets can't harm us." You said amusedly as the bullets bounced off of you and Kara.
More guards came streaming in, firing away at the both of you.
You gave Kara a smirk, making her roll her blue eyes at you but give a smile back. "Let's get em'."
"Just don't kill anyone." Kara chuckled, watching you.
"Can't make any promises dearie." You winked before swinging at the nearest guard, punching away at any guards.
"Figured you'd say something like that." Kara said them join in on taking the guards out.
Alex huffed, strands of her hair flying out of her face. "Damn Kryptonians." She said amusedly after hearing the conversations.
You turned into wolf form, running past Alex before stopping and looking at her and give her a wolfish grin.
Alex rolled her brown eyes at you but a tiny smile tug at her plum lips none the less.
You watched her for a moment further with glowing red eyes before jumping at the guard that came running from the front inbetween the rusted containers, a loud bang being created by the impact, making Alex cringe, only imaging how that impact must have felt.
Kara spared a glance at Alex while hovering in the air slightly, a struggling guard held by his armors collar in a iron grip. Kard give her a hint of a smile, glad that her sister is okay before throwing the guard in hand against another two's backs that went to try and take a blow at you making them groan in both pain and shock.
You shook your head out of the daze, nodding your head at Kara in a silent thanks and respect, Kara giving you two thumps up in reply before using x-ray vision to make sure there aren't anymore guards around, landing next to her sister when seeying that all the guards are unconscious around them save for the three groaning guards that are in too much pain to even move.
"Whoops, maybe I threw that one a little too hard." Kara chuckled nervously, figeting with the sleeve of her armor suit.
"Just a tad maybe. But hardly I could've done it better." You motioned with your fingers teasingly as you stepped up to them in human form now, (e/c) eyes shimmering in amusment.
"Is that a challenge?" Kara folded her arms over her chest, eyebrow raised.
"Maybe." You smirked.
"What are the two of you doing here? Not that I mind but how did you manage to get her on our side? And I thought she refused to go near any CADMUS buildings and people." Alex looked up at Kara.
"I only came because she promised good food." You crossed your arms over your chest once again, half covering the wolf head logo again, taking note of how Alex subtly tries to eye it, only causing you to grin more.
"Oh just admit that you do care and are going soft." Kara elbowed you, grinning amusedly as you pretend to be hurt by her.
"Ugh, whatever blondie."
"As much as I love seeying you guys bonding can you first get me out of this ropes and out of here before CADMUS backup arrive." Alex pipped in, impatiently struggling against the restraints again, gritting her teeth at the pain it cause in her now raw wrists.
"Aww but it's kinda kinky seeying you like that. All tied up-"
"Shut it wolf." Alex glared.
"Make me Princessa." You smirked at the red haired woman.
Alex only glared more making you laugh as you untie her.
"Thanks." Alex huffed, rubbing at her wrists.
You only winked at her, standing next to Kara.
"Thanks for the help. You have a great nose to sniff people out." Kara thanked you, pating you on the shoulder as you began to make your way outside with Alex.
"It was no biggie Kar. Was kinda fun." You smiled at the blonde kryptonian.
"Will we see you again?" Alex suddenly asked, grabbing at your armored clad arm as you three stood outside, taking careful steps to not step on more unconscious guards that layed around the place.
You looked down at her hand on your arm for a moment before looking back up into her eyes.
"Of course you will. I'll meet ya both back at the DEO base, gotta take care of a few things first though." You explained, smiling at Alex.
Alex could feel a small blush brusing at her cheecks as she think 'Woah, she have such seductively pretty (e/c) eyes.'
"Better watch yourself out there then and get to the DEO so I can test you to see if you are really that tough." Alex removed her arm and watch as you walked past Kara.
"We can do a lot more than just testing Agent Danvers. We can-Ouch!" You yelped as Kara smacked you in the back of the head.
"Don't talk dirty in front of me about my sister." Kara teased, grinning as you glare at her.
"Pussy blocker." You snort but continued walking, giving them one last glance before dissapearing into the forest.
Alex tried to hide her blush but Kara end up teasingly raising and eyebrow at her. "I ship this."
"Yeah yeah, whatever you say. Let's get back to the base." Alex tugged her by the elbow.
"I'm going to help plan the wedding! No questions asked!"
"Kara!"
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
It was the next day when you showed up at the DEO, (e/c) eyes taking in everything in awe as agents went on with their work.
"Glad to see you've finally showed up here." A male voice said from your left, making you spun and face the person, seeying Hank Henshaw stand there.
"Hank." You greeted the martian, earning a tiny smile from him as he gestured you to follow him.
"What is your name? Haven't gotten it because we were in a hurry to save agent Danvers." Hank looked at you, allowing you to step into the elegant elevator first, following behind soon after.
"How about you tell me your real name first martian, then I'll tell you mine."
He looked shocked for a moment.
"Wait how do you know I'm a-" He began but you pointed at your nose before he could even finish his question.
"I can identify any alien species from humans. I have a good nose." You explained.
"I like even more already." He smiled at you.
"My real name is J'onn J'onzz." He held out a hand to you.
"Nice to meet ya, names (Y/N)." You shook his hand firmly, suprising him even more.
"You have great strength." J'onn aknowledge respectfully.
"Oh that's nothing, you should see the metal container I tackled that guards against last night, I doubt the guy will ever wake up and be removed intact from it." You mused out, stepping out onto the floor when the elevator doors opened.
"You are full of surprises." J'onn chuckled under his breath.
"What's live without a little surprises?" You followed him as he lead you towards what seem to be a big office, allowing you to enter first then closing the door behind the both of you.
Taking in the office you spotted Kara sitting in chair and flipping through a file, curiously looking up when you and J'onn entered, a bright smile immediately crossing her face upon seeying you, throwing the file to the side without a care as she jumped up.
"You came!" Kara pulled you into a hug.
"Of course. I had nothing else better to do anyways. And I guess it wouldn't hurt to give a shot at the DEO, maybe I can be of better help here." You returned her hug before taking a seat where J'onn have gestured in front of his desk after he sat down too, Kara taking her seat too again after picking up the file she have thrown.
J'onn turned his attention back to you, hands folded on the desk as he eye you curiously.
"I have a few questoins to ask you if you don't mind."
"Ask away." You said.
"We want to know what powers and abilities you have." He explained, hoping he doesn't seem like an enemy to you.
"Well aside from shape shifting into a huge wolf and super strength, I have better smelling and seeying senses than humans, super speed and can endure both extremely cold and hot tempretures, Illusion, psychokinesis, and have x-ray vision, laser vision and also hell-fire breath that can melt through anything and pretty much bullet proof like Kara and can sometimes mimic others powers if I concentrate hard enough."
"Interesting. I'd like to spar with you to test those abilities." J'onn said, intrigued by this.
Kara looked intrigued by this too. "Wait. What? That is cool. I don't have all those."
"Jealous?" You teased the blonde, folding your arms against the chairs top and leaning against them.
Kara glared playfully. "Maybe."
"Trust me, these powers are fun and all but the getting them was not so fun with CADMUS. It was extremely painfull and I had to suffer everyday for a few years. The old hag even managed to take away my flight ability with an expiriment gone wrong."
Both J'onn and Kara looked at you in sympathy.
"I'm a sorry we couldn't have rescued you." J'onn said truthfully.
You gave them both a comforting smile. "Hey it's okay. You didn't know and they are a shady but dangerous corperation. I'm just glad I've met someone there that have helped me escape. We still are best friends. Never could really loose contact and that was all fine with us both."
J'onn studied you. "Who helped you escape? You don't have to answer that if you don't want to."
You pursed your lips, hesitating for a moment. "Well, believe it or not, it was their little black sheep of the family, Lena Luthor."
With that said a memory flew through Kara's mind with her and Lena's talk on the balcony.
"I know that she was my mothers best expiriment and weapon to use against her enemies. And for who helped her escape, I don't know who it was. Maybe it was someone with a death wish."
That rang throug her head a few times. "Lena you genuis sneaky little vixen. Only you would go against your own mother."
You chuckeld at the blonde kryptonian. "Lena told me that you've asked about me. I arrived at her office right after you've left."
"Oh you two are sneaky little vixens. I should've know she was half lying."
"She only did it to protect us both. She is a protective friend ya know. We'd do anything to keep each other safe, we only had each other. And besides, she didn't know that we used to be childhood besties." You explained.
"Good. Now you have me too then." Kara said truthfully.
J'onn softly smile at the two of you. "I'm glad she've helped you. She's a good woman that are full of surprises just like you."
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
You walked next to Kara as J'onn walked at the front, leading you through the DEO, showing you around the place.
"Sir!" A guy came running towards J'onn.
"Winn." He greeted, coming to a stop and looking down at him. "What is it?"
Winn's eyes immediately lit up when seeying you, pushing Kara aside earning a startled 'Hey!' from the blonde Kryptonian as he stood by you bubbling with excitement.
"It's such an honor to finally meet you." He akwardly greeted, holding a hand out. "I'm Winn."
You smiled at the akward man, shaking his hand firmly just like you did with J'onn, amused at his shock and excitiment. "I'm (Y/N)."
"I know this a probably to soon to ask but...can I please desing you a suit?"
"Winn!" J'onn glared, making you laugh.
"Woah dude. Thanks for the offer but a Luthor already beated ya to it."
Winn tried to hide a pout. "Ah man, Lena's good with designing. But...if you ever want new suits keep me in mind please."
"I will keep that in mind Winn, thanks." You watched as he bubbled up with excitiment before rushing away again after J'onn dismissed him.
You and Kara began to follow him again for awhile until he led you into what seems to be a huge impressive training room.
"Very nice." You said more to yourself before you spotted Alex sparring with another agent.
"Loving the view." You mused, arms crossed as you lean against a wall, head tilted to the side when Alex lost her focus and the other agent kicked her legs and knocking her over as she cuss under her breath, making you and J'onn give each other a cheecky smile at the red haired agents fail.
Alex got back up, not exceptting the agent hao that wanted to help her up. "I'm fine, you are dismissed Agent Lopez." Watching as the lacky man scurry away before turning to see you, Kara and J'onn chuckling at her.
"Well would you look at that, I have to get back to CatCo. Miss Grant wants me to do....something." Kara slipped away before Alex could send her her famous cold glare.
Alex shot you both a 'not amused' look, making you and J'onn stop, playfully holding your hands up.
"You are late." Alex finally spoke up, moving closer.
"Oh, honey, no. I'm never late. I arrive exactly when I have to. And I had to take care of other things too before I came here."
"And what other things might that have been?" Alex prod.
"Nothing bad, was just helping out a lady."
Alex gave you a look. "Helping out a lady?"
You smirked even more. "Yep." You said popping the p and looking around the room again as J'onn sneakily leave the room.
"Interesting. Good to see you came." Alex said, watching as your (e/c) eyes scan the room curiously before you ran to the salmon ladder in the room.
"Awesome! I love this workout." You threw off your shirt, revealing a black training bra as Alex watched.
You immediately got started, ignoring the agent that is watching you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Enjoying the view Princesa?" You teased when feeling her eyes heavily scanning over you
"Shut up." Alex scoffed, looking away briefly and muttering "maybe." under her breath before looking back up at you again as you sent her a wink before concentrating again.
"I can't wait to kick your smug ass." Alex said.
"Ya wish Danvers."
"Where did you learn this workout session? It looks like you've been doing it for years." Alex sneaked a glance at your flexing abs and well built arms, bitting her lower lip to try and keep away her not so innocent thoughts.
You've didn't fail to notice her subtle glance, smuggly smiling at her again.
"I've learned this and much more by CADMUS. They've always made their best train and workout everyday. Can't say I mind the workouts from them but the expirimenting not at all. I kept working out even after Lena have helped me escape that place. She have an epic gym at her place I we both use." You explained, still focused.
"Lena helped you? Woah, who would've though that. You two seem close if you two keep in contact."
"Yeah, we are good friends. We tend to work together on projects at times and hang out when she's free which aren't that often. The poor woman overwork herself too much. Have told her to take breaks often but she's a stuborn one." You looked at Alex once you were back on the ground.
"Sure does sound like her." Alex watched you again as you went for another round on the salmon ladder.
"I've heard Lena mentoined you and Kara by her. She said she goes to the game nights. Does she know that you are an agent and that Kara is Supergirl? She've never mentioned that."
"No, she doesn't know that. It's best that way." Alex explained.
"Yikes." You spared another glance at her. "Don't wanna be there if the secret gets found out."
Alex pursed her lips, arms folded. "You won't tell her right?"
"I'm against keeping secrets from my friend but it's not my place to tell. So, No, I won't tell her."
Alex let's out a relieved sigh. "Thanks."
🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾🐺🐾
