Mammon, Asmo & MC sneak Diavolo out for the night

This is looooong, but I had SO MUCH fun writing it

Mammon Asmodeus Diavolo Barbatos Lucifer

Warnings: heavy language, alcohol consume

Actually the plan was for only you, Asmo and Mammon to go out tonight, but you invited Diavolo to join you guys. It's because when you told him about it he got so excited for you three in a way that made you sad which lead you to what you did

You send Diavolo a quick text that the small group is coming over to his castle for some "tea" in his private chambers

Asmo packed some stuff like makeup, accessories etc for everyone to get ready at the castle. Since it's a lot to carry you and Mammon put some in your own bags after Asmo threatened you to take good care of his stuff

Everyone starts getting ready after successfully getting past Barbatos who found it more than odd that the tea would be served in the Lord's bedroom instead of in one of the usual rooms, but oh well. Diavolo is known for doing strange things from time to time

"I'm done!"

"Uh..."

"Lord Diavolo..."

"No you're not done."

The demon prince is standing there in full royal attire. You, Mammon and Asmo aren't sure where exactly to start the list of things that are wrong about his appearance

"Everyone will recognize you like this, Dia. Don't you have anything that screams less royalty?"

"What do you mean? This is my most casual outfit."

"Oh hell no."

Asmo gets immediately to work by removing the jacket and tie and continues his work by unbottoning Diavolo's black dress shirt

"What are ya doing, Asmo?! You can't undress Lord Diavolo like that!"

"Calm down! As much as I'd love to do that, I'm only opening up the dress shirt a little bit. See? It looks way more casual like this."

The beautiful demon managed to change Diavolo's entire presence with only a couple small adjustments, but there is still a tiny problem

"How do we cover his face?"

Again Asmo comes to the rescue! Without any hesitation he combs the Lord's hair back to expose his entire face and puts a very real looking fake mustache over the top lip

"Why do you own that, Asmo?"

"And why did ya bring it with you?"

"Instead of questioning me you should be thankful that I have this thing in the first place!"

Diavolo looks nearly unrecognizable unless someone would stare at him real intense

Even if you might not be a big fan of mustaches you have to admit that he kinda looks attractive that way. Mammon finishes the look by handing the Lord his sun glasses

"Are we all feeling sexy?"

"Yes!"

"Perfect! Let's go!"

Who knew that climbing down a balcony located on the highest floor of a castle could proof to be so difficult? Especially when one is all dressed up!

The first destination is a restaurant where you lay out your plans for the night to Diavolo and have a quick meal before the fun starts

Throughout the entire time the demon prince looks as excited as a child who's allowed to stay up longer than usually

"And you really don't mind the risk that comes with it?"

"Oh I'm not worried at all! Asmodeus did such an amazing job that I didn't even recognize myself in the mirror!"

"I made reservations for a small VIP area at the club. It's nothing too fancy so we won't attract much attention, but it's enough to give us some peace."

Mammon and Asmo exchange disappointed looks with each other when you mentioned the part about not attracting attention, but they're staying quiet

"Thank you so much for letting me be a part of this. It's my first time going out like this and you have no idea how grateful I am for you three to risk your lives like this."

"No problem Lord Dia- wait what was that with riskin' our lives?"

"Oh, you know in case Lucifer or Barbatos find out about it."

The tension in the air is so thick it could be cut with scissors. None of you have even thought about the obvious possibility of the first born or the royal butler to find out about your doing. Now that Diavolo mentioned it this might as well be the last night you three are alive

If Diavolo catches onto the fear building up inside you guys then he sure as fuck doesn't seem to mind. Instead he's digging into his meal with a wide grin while your appetite has vanished into thin air

After the awkward last supper you slowly make your way to the club and with some light hearted conversations the worries quickly fade away and get replaced by a more relaxing mood

The demon at the entrance let's you pass almost immediately upon hearing your name

"Before you four enter the area, can I get the names of your friends first? We've had some issues lately and need them for security reasons."

"I'm the great Mammon, this is my brother Asmodeus and this is our...uhm...Stephen."

"Your Stephen?"

"...yes."

Much to your relief the demon doesn't question you any further and let's you in, but not without giving you all a skeptical side-eye

"Shit, Mammon, was that seriously the best you could come up with?"

"You could have taken over if you wanted to, ya know!"

"I'm Stephen."

Once your group falls down onto a couch in a more secluded area you start to think about what to drink

"They have a Merlot! I might take that."

"No, we're doin' shots tonight!"

The two boys stopped addressing Diavolo with his title a while ago and he looks anything except bothered by it. In fact his grin has gotten even bigger over time and you notice how much more comfortable everyone is now than at the beginning of the night

Everyone is having a great time and everything seems to go smoothly even though you lost count of the amount of drinks your small group has ordered

Until your D.D.D. lights up from a call

"Guys, it's Lucifer."

"Don't answer! We texted him that we're sleepin' over at Diavolo's so if you don't answer then he might think we're asleep!"

"My name is Stephen."

Drunk Mammon is surprisingly reasonable so you decide to go with his suggestion and ignore the call

Just as your anxiety retreats Asmo gets a call from the first born as well. That can't possibly be a coincidence right?

You all receive at least one call that none of you answers. After a while there's nothing happening and you're starting to imagine Lucifer bursting through the ceiling to give you the beating of a lifetime

But your phones stay silent and you collectively let out a sigh

"We're safe."

But then your D.D.D. lights up again from something far greater than the threatening call of Lucifer. It's a message

"Where are you?"

Your mouth dries out completely and you're unable to form a coherent thought. Mammon takes the phone from your hands to see what got you so petrified just to turn into a living statue as well

One by one you all freeze. Luicfer is easy to avoid and it wouldn't be the first time you become the target of his wrath, but angering Barbatos is a whole other story

If the royal butler comes for you then all that's left to do is lay down and pray that he'll have the mercy to make your death go by fast

"You have to answer him, MC."

You're simply texting him that you guys are on the way to the castle

This is where the fun ends. The walk home consists of Diavolo apologizing every five minutes and you telling him that it's not his fault. It was your idea after all and you'll be the one to take full responsibility

"Ya can't do that, MC!"

"Right! There's no way we will let you take the fall for us."

"No, I was the one who came up with this thing so I will be the one to take the hit. Besides, Lucifer and Barbatos are going to go easier on me than they will on you two."

The royal butler is awaiting you four at the entrance of the castle with a smile cold enough to freeze over the entirety of hell

No one dares to say a word as you enter and Barbatos lifts his hand when you open your mouth to say something

"I want you to know that I'm not mad."

Phew

"Just disappointed."

Oh

"Barbatos, you have to know that this is completely my fault. Mammon and Asmo didn't have anything to do with it."

He ignores your words

"Lucifer asked me to send you back home. I brought it upon myself to pack your belongings so you don't have to stay longer than absolutely necessary."

This is the politest way someone has ever kicked you out, but it still hurt like shit

Diavolo puts his hand on your shoulder and squeezes it lightly which provides you with a little bit of comfort. The kind smile on his face tells you that he will do his best to set this right for you and the brothers

You squeeze his hand back with your own and with your bags you, Mammon and Asmo leave for the house of lamentation where the upset first born awaits you

Lucifer's lips are a thin line and his eyebrow can't seem to stop twitching. Judging by the dark aura around him he's barely holding himself back from throwing every curse known to mankind at you

"I don't expect much from my brothers, but I do expect more from you, MC"

"We wanted to have fun!"

"By kidnapping the prince?"

"Lucifer, please-"

"Get out of my sight! All three of you! We'll continue this tomorrow morning before I can't control myself and rip you all to shreds."

Your boyfriend was probably at home by now so it's not like you'd bother him at work, but you still didn't see it fit to text him so late in the evening. After all, you've only been together for two months and asking him to come over at 10 p.m seemed a little strange; and what if he was out with some friends and you'd mess up his plans?

You took in a deep breath, trying to push these thoughts in the back of your mind. Your day has been more than miserable and all you wanted was to spend some time with your partner. Finally pressing the send button, you set the phone down beside you and turned on the tv, switching from channel to channel in attempt to keep your mind occupied.

Chuuya's reply came through almost instantly. 'Sure, I'll be over in a few. Is everything alright?'. You texted back a quick 'Yea. Just feeling a bit down' before returning your gaze to the tv screen.

Around half an hour later, the light buzz of the electric lock announced Chuuya's arrival. Gathering your remaining strength you got off the couch and tip-toed to the hall to find him taking off his coat.

"Hey baby. You feeling alright?" he asked in his usual gentle voice but you just nodded in response.

You were too mentally exhausted to give him an actual reply, to tell him how burnt out and miserable you felt so you simply reached out your arms and wrapped them around his waist, pressing yourself flush against his chest.

Chuuya immediately returned the hug, one of his gloved hands resting atop your hair as he pulled you closer to him. You closed your eyes, feeling your mind slowly quieting down; the dark thoughts that've been bothering you for days now evaporating into thin air.

You couldn't bring yourself to pull away, not even when he removed his hand from your head and gently cupped your jaw, tilting it up so he could get a glimpse of your face.

"You wanna tell me what's bothering you sweetie, or shall I let you be?"

"I don't really wanna talk about it. I've just had some shitty days and I missed you." you confessed, voice carrying a slight edge that Chuuya didn't miss.

"Alright, how about we go watch a movie then? Sure it's gonna make you feel better."

You made your way to the couch and nestled yourself beside Chuuya, arms wrapped loosely around his waist; his own arm draped over your shoulder, bringing you closer to his chest as he took off his gloves to run his fingers through your hair. Sighing softly, you leaned into his touch, allowing him to coax the summertime sadness out of you with each gentle caress.

You could feel his hot breath against your temple, his lips peppering your face with feathery kisses and you couldn't help but smile; you were melting into his arms like candle wax.

"Feeling better babe?" he asked after a few minutes.

"Way better. Thank you Chuu" you beamed, briefly pressing your lips to his. He gave your shoulder a reassuring squeeze before returning his attention to the movie you ended up watching, and old picture film about a girl in New York City.

The warmth and comfort of his embrace lulled you into a dreamy langour, eyes heavy with sweet, powdery stardust. Chuuya felt you slowly relax into his arms and smiled, heat blooming in his chest. He watched you slowly close your eyes and remained motionless until the end of the movie when he slowly reached for the remote.

Feeling the sudden motion you groaned, eyes fluttering open as you tugged lightly at his shirt.

"Don't leave yet" you mumbled and he couldn't help but chuckle; your sleepy face was the prettiest thing he's ever laid eyes upon.

He switched off the tv and pulled your head back on his chest, savouring your presence and the quietude of your apartment, dimly lit only by the glow of the city.

What are your thoughts on WR development overall and your thoughts on WR being developed/made canon in V10?

Ugh I am going to ramble about everything here I can feel it...well you asked for it. I apologize for none of it, and if you all hate me at the end well I don't mind.

Volume 6 and before are pretty much great. They go from kinda at odds to tentative friends, learning to trust, and rely on each other, best friends, pining over one and other and V6 was a loooot of WR for us to feast on.

Afterward I felt like it got sidetracked. There could be various reasons for this (in hindsight I feel like Penny being given a way bigger role so her death could hit harder is to blame for part of this because realistically how long has Ruby known Penny? A month?)

Even if you don't like the ship they're supposed to be canon best friends so I take personal issue with almost all of volume 9.

I think it was sloppy writing that didn't move the story forward, and even though I don't care about Bees I feel like they still got shafted since they basically were forced to confess to move things along, and them doing so made them miss out on the sister/supposed friend and her problems, and only showcased the worst sides of the relationship.

For example Yang let's Ruby scream at Weiss but only moves to do something when Blake gets yelled at. Blake and Ruby still have...less dialogue than Ruby does with Ren I think etc.

Jaune was too present merely because his entire deal took away from Ruby's imo.

I've said it before but frankly Nora falling and learning who she is away from Ren so when she sees him in V10 she's ready for the relationship is far more satisfying to me narratively.

Leave Jaune above ground so he has to deal with the fact that he thinks he failed his friends and they all died and let him learn from that experience instead.

This also doesn't take into account that Jaune's one interesting change in 9 (being old) is taken away via random deaging (although I guess this makes deaging canon and hey young maria this is how dwr can still win! more at 11!)

Generally when characters go through a volume you want some sort of arc for them to go and change through. Weiss gets none of that. Out of all the characters nothing really happens to her, and she doesn't change at all. She's just sad about Atlas. Neat.

There's no time for it just like there's no real time for Ruby.

In Ruby's own words 'gotta help Jaune right?' and they do. Ruby removes herself from the census, which is how its framed, and they stop to...help Jaune.

There are a few moments that are WR'ish in 9. The Nevermore summon, Weiss believing in Ruby, and calling her name first etc, but overall Weiss's main job is to backslide.

I said it before but in the market Neo, the perfect assassin is after Ruby, and they split up. Weiss goes 'gross nosehairs', and ditches her best friend who she already knows by that point is NOT doing well.

This is not Volume 1. This Weiss is not that petty, and she's literally had to manhandle corpses. The fact that she wouldn't stay near her canonical best friend, and leader is asinine, and only happens so she can be alone to meet the smith.

Even if Weiss can't help Ruby fight Neo she's an extra pair of eyes (and Neo doesn't care how crowded it is in the market), and just being there for Ruby can help.

With all that said RWBY is big into symbolism. When WR are together in almost all the side spin off material it means something. Manga Anthologies has them making heart eyes and flirting like every other page. Ice Queendom was a love letter to WhiteRose (precious?). The movies, etc.

When their weapons rest next to each other on screen like the Bees do? It means something. When their flowers break ranks to be near each other (and Weiss's flower is the lily please note)? This means something.

Ruby can stand and jump from missile to missile but has to wrap her arms around Weiss to stay seated?

If Chibi continues it's pattern of predicting things in the main plot then the fact that Weiss is the woodsman in the fairy tale means a loooot as in several versions of that fairy tale the woodsman marries little red after helping her deal with the wolf problem (which varies by the story).

They're the knight and princess for each other. Ruby comes into Weiss's live turns it upside down, and helps her change. Likes her for her genuinely and wants to be her friend at the start. Through this she changes the world for Weiss, and helps her grow, and Weiss in turn helps Ruby be the leader she can be.

But yeah I guess that's just friends things and they should date some guys they've had like a half a dozen lines with instead? I don't get it really.

She and Oscar punch each other in the face, and they talk about strategy. Oscar has a younger kid crush on her, and Ruby is awkward because that's her headmaster in this kids head. Oh right he went in for a hug she ignored. Peak romance.

Jaune and Weiss have almost no interactions, and when he saves her at Haven her response isn't to be like 'omg i love you' it's 'keep doing it i have work to do'. Are they friends now? Sure, but that's about as far as it goes.

It remains that outside of group hugs the only person that's allowed to initiate contact with Weiss almost all the time outside of battle is Ruby.

Ruby knows when she needs help and will guide her away when she needs it, but other people don't' touch Weiss unless she does it first because they know she doesn't like it...except Ruby.

I have tried to look at other relationships for them, and I honestly don't see them as realistic.

Even Penny would need a lot more development to make it work. I get that it's cute and wholesome but they've known each other for again a month, and Penny just defers to Ruby.

Ruby needs a partner and equal not a submissive enabler. That's a relationship you have with a pet, and not a person.

Now if Maria were young and hot that'd be different...

Anyway...

Ruby and Weiss are partners. If they're allowed to have the much needed conversations they never seem to get, ie haven, ever after, Ruby's mom, everything, etc.

Then is it possible? Maybe. If they do go WR I suspect it'll be more hints, and slow ramp up until the final season.

I would expect it either on the eve of the final battle, or literally during it maybe as in Weiss gets feds up with waiting, and decides to do something about it.

More likely at this point is they'll both just end up single with maybe faint hints so fans can imagine what they want for it.

Would I prefer it if it was WR so the team can truly be family? Yes, but I don't even know if we're getting a volume 10 at all to be honest. The fact that it wasn't announced at the last festival, and we get an extended eppy, and then nothing after the last movie?

Not making me feel super confident. I could be wrong though. On many things. Except Young Maria.

A couple of subtle differences in KHDR Version 5.0.1 I want to point out...

...because they're both curious and significant to me.

There are three differences I want to talk about, two of which can be seen in these two screenshots:

Baldr's chains no longer break off and fling everywhere when Xehanort strikes him.

Eraqus goes from simply being shocked at Xehanort's choice to being both shocked and angry.

I'm a little sad about that first change, because not only were the chains breaking way more dramatic, they also mirrored a move from the Armor of Eraqus boss fight in BBS where Eraqus surrounds the player in chains in much the same way that Odin surrounds Baldr, and then the chains break at the end of the move in a similar fashion as well. I honestly don't know why they removed this bit of animation. Did they think it was more realistic if Baldr had no freedom of movement all the way up until he vanishes?

The second change, I quite like. It adds more nuance to Eraqus' emotions in this moment and fits his character very well. Eraqus can be an angry little guy sometimes and Xehanort had agreed to help him save Baldr. The fact that Xehanort goes against his wishes and strikes Baldr down would certainly upset him.

There's one more change I want to talk about, and it's this change of expression on Xehanort after he takes out Baldr:

It's subtle, in fact I'm not even certain that his facial expression is any different, but the tilt of his head really changes the vibe here for me. Before, his expression just looked kinda cold/numb. But now, with his chin titled up more, he looks like he's looking down on Baldr in disdain.

Since you liked my rambling abt my random Nimona headcanons, here's part 2

- Starting off with the queen (rip), I think her white hair is actually a wig and she has some gorgeous greying tight curls under it

- There was a thingy "the Boldheart project" which was created when Bal got accepted into the Institute's knight program. "The project" followed his progress in training to figure out if commoners were able to train as good as nobles. If he completed the course successfully, the reform would be set (sry I like talking abt fantasy politics- yea, putting responsibility on a literal child to become a figure of "equality" is... Sure a strategy)

Let's stop with the politics amirite

- Ambrosius sings in the shower. First it was like quiet humming n stuff but when him and Bal start living together this guy's shower was akin to opera (hah- soap opera- get it-)

- Ambrosius would be a type of a rich dude who fantasizes about living on his own and providing for himself and having this sweet humble suburban way of life with his husband until he actually starts living this way (he's a literal nepo baby- cmon the habits will be there even if he tries being independent)

Ambrosius: Bal, I don't get why I keep burning my bread! It's the second time I fail!

Ballister: Practice makes perfect, darling

Ambrosius: But these KitKoters make it look so easy😭😭

- He catches up gradually tho. Bal is very understanding, Nimona is having a lot of fun with this

- Does fun include bullying Ambrosius for not knowing how to remove plants to the bigger pots?. Yea kinda

- Nimona's hanging out with the kingdom's kids from time to time. She goes out of her way to make them laugh or make them feel happy in general. It heals her inner child, in a way

- Even though she hangs out with them from a perspective of a cool older shapeshifting punk sibling, she still feels like their peer and can't help but transform into her child form sometimes

- idk I think Nimona shapeshifts into a child pretty often if she feels overwhelmed or emotionally devastated or just wants to be taken care of

- Ballister does take care of her

Wow this got sad fast. Anyway

- Ambrosius is left-handed but was forced to relearn because the perfect descendant of Gloreth cannot be left-handed, it's abnormal🤓

- Ballister can't help but go 😬 when either Ambrosius or Nimona take food with their left hand while eating. Yeah technically eating with his flesh hand would be easier for him. No he won't do that for the life of him (saying hi to all Muslims out there)

- Ballister decides to grow out a real beard and Nimona thinks it's the coolest thing ever to play with during their family quality time. Ambrosius also likes this change in his looks but for rather uh... gay different reasons😁

If we're talking about gay stuff I might just as well talk abt some Goldenheart hcs

- When they've only started dating Ballister had a really difficult time with the eye contact bc Ambrosius's loving gaze was too much to handle for him. He'd see how gentle and soft his eyes are and how they're filled with complete adoration to the top and just look away all blushy and smitten

- I think we as a fandom agree that Ambrosius's love language is arm chopping physical touch. Have you considered how important kisses can be to him in expressing his love tho

- Ambrosius LOVES kissing Ballister. He's probably kissed him everywhere if you think about it-

- But yea. He steals kisses from Bal as often as he can. Boo goes to work? Kiss him goodbye. Boo gets back? Kiss him goodhi - doesn't matter where😉

- His favorite place to kiss is probably Bal's neck bc he just likes nuzzling into it and making him all flustered

- Ballister loves kissing Ambrosius as well. His favorite thing ever is press kisses into Ambrosius's hair while they're lying down on the couch, Ambrosius's head on Ballister's chest n his arms around Ballister's torso. It makes them both feel very soft and warm and safe❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

- (teenage years) You know this type thing when kittens playfully fight each other and jump onto each other and bite and stuff? Yea that's teenage Goldenheart

- (a little older than teenage years) current sparring trend in the writer part of the fandom. That's it. You know damn well what I'm talking about

- At some point their private training sessions became the reason they succeeded in combat and got the highest of marks

Okay gay stuff is over

- Nimona has some pretty dark humor but draws the line at the things that could really trigger her or other people. Joking about burning everything down? Of course. Joking about... Well... The act 3 of the movie? Nope, never

- Nate Knight (do ya remember him?) does drag in his off-duty time haha RuPaul hi

- Ballister snores in his sleep bc he's a dad like that

- Ballister also is a type of dad to sleep on the couch while watching TV, and when you turn it off he wakes up and tells you he's been watching it this whole time

Maybe in their world, ymbryns can be either gender. Or, they’re special in the sense that the Isus ensured that they would become ymbryns regardless of their gender.

Maybe it would be more accurate to call them anomalies.

They can shift their form into humans or eagles any time they want but they lack the ability to create loops. They can manipulate memories but it seems to be limited in terms of how ‘much’ memory they can change or remove at a given time before they need to rest for a week or so.

They don’t necessarily take care of any peculiars because of their inability to form loops so they usually roam the world.

They first met in South Dakota on March 13.

At first, there were three.

Then four.

Desmond grew up seeing them watch over him and they befriend him, taking their human forms but deaged to match Desmond’s young age.

I'll start with Jack and Joseph for now, but if people want others I can do them too.

Content: abusive parents

Jack:

Jack is a family-oriented guy, but to him a family has to love each other and treat each other well

The fact that your parents don't treat you well upsets him a lot, and he doesn't consider them to be real family to you

He'll encourage you to cut them off, or limit contact, or set firm boundaries if it's safe for you to do so

He wants you to have the least amount to do with them as possible, he doesn't see them as worthy of your time and effort

When they upset you or you can still hear their voices in your head making you sad, he'll try to comfort you

He'll try to replace all those horrible voices with his own loving one, making sure you know that you're more than enough on your own

Seriously, he doesn't need you to change a single thing about yourself or listen to your parents at all

In fact, he wants you to be the person that you want to be, not who your parents try to make you

He'll remind you over and over that a family is meant to make you feel safe and loved, and anyone who doesn't do that isn't family

And you don't have to be without a family at all! You've got him, and the two of you can be a family together!

Joseph:

He gets it. Seriously, he really does get it. His parents were neglectful and made him feel like a burden every day of his life

He also gets how hard it is to cut people off. How hard it is to leave. He managed to do it, but it wasn't easy

He lets you take the lead on how you want to handle them. You know the situation best, he's just there to listen and help

He'll make sure to remind you that it's not your fault that your parents are like this, that you haven't done anything wrong

Really, he won't let you forget that you deserve better and that you wouldn't be a bad person for cutting them off

But he also knows that sometimes you need to keep your parents in your life for one reason or another

If that's the case, then he'll just help you develop coping mechanisms and remind you that they're the bad ones, not you

He's very good about removing you from situations with them if needed. If things get too much he'll come up with an excuse to go

After any rough interactions with them, he'll hold you and let you vent to him for as long as you need

He's very understanding, and he'll make sure you know that he won't judge you for however you handle the situation

Hey, I just saw your most recent post earlier, and I thought to send you an ask instead of rambling in the comments or reblogs.

First of, you're completely right about there being fewer interactions in fandoms, and it makes me really sad and devastated too. If this makes you want to take a step back, then that's completely fine, I'm not trying to convince you to stay in this ask, I just wanted to share something. Even though I kinda grew out of the Hobbit fandom, I still remember how much I love your stories (and still do). They made me stay up late, to then follow me through my whole day, reading in between lessons, to then climbing in bed early again so I could continue reading. Even now, seeing you feel so left out, it made me devastated and wanting you to know how much you and your stories mean to me.

I'm so sorry for how the fandom is treating you and everyone else, you deserve so much more than what you're getting. I hope you make the choice that's best for you, whether that's staying or leaving, we all just want you to take care of yourself ❤️

I've held onto this for far too long...and not just because I neglect my inbox, but because I'm constantly looking back on the words, and finding them continuing to cheer me up <3

It's been a lot of back and forth with my feelings regarding the fandom and feeling included/wanted, and sometimes I know it's the bad brain talking, whereas others, I'm not really sure what to think. The highs are high, the lows are low, and at this exact moment, I feel somewhere blissfully in between (which is an alright spot to be, for me, I think).

There are so many excellent people in the fandom, whether they're still here or moving onto other fandoms. I appreciate every single one - every single kind comment, kudos, reblog, whatever it is, it warms my little heart.

Interactions are at an all-time low in my opinion, and I think this is a great opportunity to remind people to tell your favorite creators what you enjoy about their works! Though, my personal experience regarding the episode I was going through is more with not feeling wanted among the other creators (left out, like you said), I have been working hard to make changes to fix those feelings if I can (i.e. removing myself from environments/conversations/subjects that are bothersome, and trying to reach out more).

I just want to say again how much I appreciated this ask back when you sent it, just as I appreciate it today. Your kindness truly helped me when I was in a dark spot and wanting to disappear. Every day is a fight, and your kindness has helped me fight that much harder to not let the bad brain win.

anyway, imagine sea monster dazai realizing he has feelings for u and trying to win u back, to very little avail. why do all his presents he leaves for you on the shore scare you? isn't bringing your mate things you've hunted for them a standard courting practice in most species? AQUATIC ASSHOLE you know i have a huge soft spot for alliteration i love it so much this makes me so giddy

here's the thing about siren chuuya...he's literally irresistable. it's not just his singing voice or his pretty eyes or his overall perfect existance—something about him is almost addictive to people. even he doesn't know what part of him it is that makes people swoon so hard for him. so when he meets a regular little human (that is actually the captain of a pretty big ship. he is impressed.) who just Doesn't Care about him, it hurts his pride and goes against his very existance. it makes no sense!

and because chuuya can't have other mers knowing about this and his indisputed title of Best Siren Ever to be taken away, he starts following you around. a lot. what he doesn't know is that he's not the only siren you've got on your tail. from somewhere far away during one of your adventures, you caught the attention of another reknowned siren, because again you didn't seem to be affected by his charm either. no amount of singing or spells or staring into your eyes changed your feelings towards fyodor and it won't change anything towards chuuya either.

so they're left with only one other option.

making you fall for them the human way.

which also means no underhanded tactics, no singing (not that it had any effect on you before) and no contacting any sea witches to help. what they could do was try to court you like humans did each other.

every morning you wake up and you find unnaturally huge fish gutted and waiting for you cook, priceless items from deep under the sea (you're sure, one time, that that was a bag of real gold coins waiting for you), and a few times even dismembered hands and feet. that was a terrifying sight, even for you. coincidentally you'd find out someone who was giving you trouble just happened to lose a limb or two that same day...

it's very likely dazai will lose his patience and try to eat you (very literally) before he realizes he kinda wants to keep you whole. just another day on your boat talking to your poor little victim sea monster friend and all it takes is for you to come a little too close and leave your hand on his claw for a little too long before he's snatching you and dragging you over the side of your boat and into the cold water (his waters, where nobody would help you, little human) ignoring the way you scream and struggle, using his unnaturally strong limbs to hold you in place while he goes for a bite. what he doesnt expect is for you to jab him in the eye, so hard he's sure it will look all ugly and swollen, before scrambling back onto your boat and going back to shore. damn motorboats and their violent little propellers.

and then you don't come back.

he gives you some time, thinking maybe you got a little bruised up and needed the rest (though he would happilly nurse you back to health if you had asked). but you don't show your face near the water for days and days on end, until even he knew it was far too long to be just because you were injured.

it comes to him through the form of chuuya (who considered himself a master at understanding human behavior, having spent a lot of his time around them, watching them gush over him) that you were probably scared of him. which was really nothing new, anyone with any survival instinct would know to be scared, but when it was you who had been so genuine and unbothered by his demeanor, he was a little distraught.

maybe he should apologize.

it was hard when you rarely came near the beach except when you were with someone else, but he managed to leave gifts for you after waving at you, pretending to not see the grimace on your face or the way you shrunk into yourself.

it was even more painful when you just ignored the things he left for you, no matter how much stuff he left or how luxurious of a gift he left, you would just ignore it. he wondered if he deserved such treatment. how was he to know you would get scared so much?

and you wouldn't even let him explain himself. how was he going to apologize if you didn't hear him out? he didn't have any bad intentions, really.

well, if you weren't going to approach him, then he'd have to approach you, right? luckily, he knew some people who owed him some favors—favors big enough to even change his form temporarily.

Theres something super fascinating about the whole thing with springer and tarantulas, springer being literally created bc tarantulas wanted to make a 'child' but being a race which doesnt have children. Tarantulas avoid the pitfall most human parents fall into of not respecting their child autonomy. The idea of tarantulas loving and respecting who his child is enough that his own personal feelings (wanting to raise/teach ostaros) are put by the waysaid and he does leave Springer to live his own life and doesnt change go into the past and change anything. Damn. It's not the kinda story you can write with human characters and while I dont like a lot of idw stuff I really enjoy tarantulas' and Springer's whole thing

It's SO interesting to me anon, you have activated my trap card by bringing it up, LMAO. I think the element of it being taken one step out of context by virtue of them coming from a culture that doesn't have a conception of it in-fiction really does give it this extra bit of almost. Narrative elasticity? Stories about parenthood and being a parent or being a child are so locked into these really deep underlying assumptions baked into whatever culture they're being written in. You can go along with them or go against them or interrogate them but at the end of the day you typically do have to have characters who engage with them, when you're writing human characters. They have to be immersed in those things like fish in water.

Whereas a story like Sins and Wrequiem can have those characters engage with basically the same concepts but one layer removed. They don't exist in a world where they have diagetic pre-existing ideas about it, or social expectations to agree with or reject, or any of that. It's there in the story, but the characters have a little more leeway, and it opens the whole thing up a little. I've said before that one thing I really like about Sins is that at no point is there a sense of Springer being inherently obligated to any of these people he's finding out he has unasked for ties to. It's refreshingly free of the 'family is family no matter what' subtext. (I like Prowl trying to tell Springer we'll talk about this after and Springer flatly putting a stop to that very much.) And there's room too to see how certain things can suddenly feel sort of different when taken out of a context where they're just expected... that whole sense of finding out about the idea you 'have parents' as almost a little bit part of the horror, because the idea of having ties to people you have no control over reads differently in that context.

And then with Tarantulas you have this story that is very sad and really tied up in questions of autonomy full stop- Tarantulas' story in Sins and then Wrequiem is at base one about someone who loses all agency violently and then tries to turn the tables equally violently. So for the end to turn on how much and how willingly he affords it to Springer works very neatly. It's just. REALLY good. I love it, I could talk about the family-as-horror reading forever, honestly.

First of all... WOW! Thank you for taking the time to write all this! And also thank you for reading my gency stuff. I still love them too, for all my disillusionment with Overwatch and its overall storytelling. I definitely share your sentiments with regards to the fact that the revolving door of writers has basically lead to Overwatch no longer giving a shit about continuity and actual storytelling and just defaulting to what they think will suck the dicks of fanon in the most satisfactory manner. And it's not just writing Gency out of existence either--it's about erasing the tragedy of Widowmaker and the complexity of Reinhardt. It's about reducing Gabriel to a shitty radicalized cop. It's about bringing in characters who make no sense chronologically and have fuck all to do with anything and honestly just heighten the truth of the "stereotype+fetish" joke of Overwatch character design (Yes, I'm talking about Kiriko and Illari). It's about bringing in Mauga 4 years late and acting like they're the cleverest damn people in the world for doing it. It's about expending an absurd amount of narrative and advertisement funding and energy on fucking ASHE of all members of the cast.

Okay--okay--I'm calming myself down.

With regards to your prompt, I'm just going to say, I played the general timeline out between Genji and Mercy the way it played out with very specific reasons. The truth was, as far as character development goes, for all of his love of Mercy (as far as my fic continuity goes) Genji simply wasn't in the mental or emotional space to have a healthy relationship with *anyone,* let alone Mercy. And that's also why I have him mentioning hooking up with Cassidy during his time in Blackwatch in the broad general fic continuity, because it's this very fucked up emotional period for both of them and they have this *very strong link* for a time but as they progress to healthier mindsets they both sort of outgrow each other. Genji moves on to Angela and Cassidy moves on to Hanzo and that's *good* because that indicates they've both grown into their own respective people past being in a really painful codependent state.

The *whole point* was Genji getting away from Overwatch, hallucinating Mercy at his lowest point, and realizing *he* needs to be the person to get himself out of his most fucked up mental corners, and then meeting Zenyatta so that he can develop the right mental tools for that. I'm realizing this is a very western interpretation of this, but then again Overwatch slotted in Robot Jesus with Aurora so fuck it, but if I had to break it down into a solid narrative, it's a Divine Comedy where Genji is Dante, Zenyatta is Virgil, and Mercy is Beatrice. You can have your idealized love and your most beloved mentor, but ultimately YOU have to claw YOUR OWN way out of hell.

If he met with Mercy or made contact with Mercy at any point before Zurich exploded in my fic continuity, that wouldn't give catharsis for ANYONE. The only position they would be in, would be for angst wank. And like, YEAH, I *can* write Gency angst wank that doesn't actually go anywhere and doesn't contribute anything to the characters beyond making them feel sad, but honestly I'd rather write my Anarky-Assassinated-President-Lex-Luthor fic. That's a nice fatty mutton bone I can chew on.

Lan Xichen! I should caveat that I started with CQL and I'm still working my way through the novels and animated series. So I might be missing key information.

Headcanon: Not to make everything about NHS, but I loooove the idea of NHS and LXC never really getting each other their whole lives. Like they're inextricably tied together by their bonds with other characters and the events of the story, and on the surface it seems like they'd have an intrinsic understanding of each other. And maybe they even think they each understand the things the other person isn't saying. But they don't!!! It's partially that their priorities and temperaments are different from each other, and semi-hidden from the people they would ideally be open with. But it's also that they see each other through the lens of their mutual relationships rather than just face to face. Also I think the more complicated, sad resentment they have for each other, the more savory and delicious it all is.

Heartcanon: I think it's fun and funky when he's a bit scary. A guy with quite a mild communication style who's trying very hard to keep a lid on some veeery intense feelings

Gutcanon: This is a guy who used to always get migraines when he was younger. He's outgrown them by cultivating, but is unable to remove any of the stressors that made him get them in the first place. So while negotiating or mediating a conflict, he gets a floater in his eye & he's just like Oh wonderful :) I suspect this will have consequences for me later :)

I think all of 3zun are migraine havers in their own ways. Just a gut feeling, you know how it is

Junkcanon: I sat here for minutes wondering why a junkcanon (which obviously is a headcanon that is like junk food) would be included in a list of body-part canons. Umm i think he's the service verse of all time. And while I think it can get kinda overdone and one-dimensonal, I really do love when he has an airheaded side. That's so handsome of him

Spleencanon: Although it is very gorgeous and tormented of him to stay in seclusion indefinitely, I do want to see this change. If not for closure and healing purposes, then at least to cause problems for others in some capacity. I think he deserves this

Okay so I just finished chap 4 and as the resident scarabia appreciator I figured you would be the best person to word vomit my ideas to (You don't have to answer this if you don't want to)

But like the drama the betrayal, god it was so good

Like I can understand both sides of the story. I get why Jamil snapped as hard as he did, but god when Kalim started begging to Jamil to tell him that what Octotrio exposed wasn't true BROKE ME. It dosent help I kinda relate to Kalim in the sense I tend to worry if Im being "too much" for people so seeing Jamil call him obnoxious and crap, albeit not in the right headspace, really struck a chord with me. God I want them to be happy/friendly with each other again tho TWST please let them-

But honestly after that my brain has been fixated on a potential Kalim overblot. I don't know how it would happen (probably some trauma he keeps under his cheery facade like another guy we know *stares at Cater*), though I have an idea that during his overblot he pushes everyone away. So firstly yes holy crap I believe book 4 hits so hard because it is so deeply sad from both sides of things. It's very easy for people to look at both Jamil and Kalim and understand them and their actions, feeling pushed so hard and made to be responsible and care for others, as well as loving people deeply and the play into the insecurities of ultimately being resented by those you love most

All of the books have people pushed past their breaking points and trauma spilling to the surface but god book 4 is this horrible open wound of desperation and heartbreak

I also deeply want them to be able to move forward being healthier about their relationship and actually building a friendship because like, they do have fun together off and on after book 4, Jamil's anger is mostly misdirected from the position he's been forced into, and they're both able to actively talk better about things between the two of them- idk I know we'll never get to fully see how they grow and change but I really do stand by me saying that I believe both of them have the ability to bring about change within their families when they are finally able to hold their own positions

But on to the second part here, absolutely Kalim has so much traumatic shit he's dealing with. Like since he was a child he's had adults trying to full on actually murder him. Like he makes little jokes in passing about being kidnapped or poisoned and such, and how it's made him hard to take by surprise so it's played off as a joke, but SERIOUSLY?? That is so much emotional damage to just have to play off for laughs, but sometimes all you can do is laugh in order to not fully process it

Kalim has shown to be a people pleaser and to meet everyone as if they're a friend, and it's a wonderful trait on his part but due to his past it's also probably a defence mechanism in a way. I'm reading a little deep here but honestly, imagine you've been kidnapped more times then you can count, had more attempts on your life then you can recall, had to witness your childhood friend fall into a coma because they were poisoned in an attempt to murder you specifically- like Kalim is a walking target that nearly everyone he meets could be attempting to take a swing at. But he doesn't shy away or meet people with an overt caution, no. He meets everyone with this overwhelming friendliness. He makes himself not a threat to others, and he makes potential threats his friends. How better to be kept safe then to be surrounded by people who care about you? To remove the idea of threats by being someone people can see the good within, someone to eat, drink, and be merry with? What good would come from harming someone who treats you so well

And I'm not saying this would be an intentional act on his part, no. I'm not sure he's even aware of how people pleasing he is outside of the thought, "other people have more problems then me, so why would I bother them with mine". He's just grown up unable to trust nearly anyone and as such is navigating through life doing what he does best, having fun and living in the moment, making friends and surrounding himself with people he doesn't need to be afraid of

But that's also why Jamil's betrayal hits so much harder, as he's the one person in Kalim's life that Kalim has never had to fear or doubt for even a moment. Jamil has always been a safe haven, an olive branch amongst the knives. And Kalim finds out Jamil has been sitting within a growing well of resentment and anger this entire time

And it is absolutley heartbreaking

And yes, it's played for laughs with Kalim not understanding after that Jamil is still upset, or that they cannot just magically be on even footing, but a lot of aspects of Kalim are consistently played for laughs. It's hard for people to take you seriously when you cannot even take yourself seriously

So absolutely if he were to overblot it would be less of him lashing out at people around him and more of him lashing out at himself. All of those feelings he laughs off and pushes away in favor of smiling and joking with others, them all bubbling to the surface in a way he could not even begin to contain

Having Kalim overblot would be genuinely absolutley harrowing to witness

His books. It's Illyana. Of course it is. We are talking Illyana as number one, and then his students and team mates at second.

2. Absolutely not. This has more than once gotten him punched in the face for his stubbornness. His loyalty to Illyana is more than a little bit self-destructive lmao.

3. Atticus is an incredibly laid back dude, but literally any moment when he is forced to interact with Xavier makes him want to rip his hair out. Years of watching the egg-man ruin his friends, students and others lives because he think he knows best drives Atticus up the wall. Also Sinister, he exploded when he found out Sinister was on the Council.

4. SAD! KIDS! As a former traumatized teen and currently mildly traumatized adult, nothing upsets him more than seeing a young person having a rough time. This why he has so many (unofficial) adopted children (consisting of ever single student he has ever had).

5. A combo of stubbornness and, in a smaller sense, cowardice. Atticus has spent most of his adult life avoiding the superhero community, and until Krakoa, he was very committed to never getting involved. This has made him difficult to deal with, especially when he talks to people like the X-Men or Avengers. It also applies to his convictions, cause good luck getting him to budge once he's made a decision.

6. 3 big ones. Not stopping the Avengers from putting the Phoenix into Illyana, Piotr and Emma (he doesn't care enough about Summers or Namor to worry about them.) The other one is not being in Sydney when Australia's Sentinel program killed his mother accidentally. Notably he couldn't actually stop any of this from happening, but he still regrets it. Finally, he regrets leaving his job at Avengers Academy, since the events of Avengers Arena led to the deaths of a bunch of his students. (No wonder he's so protective.)

7. Honestly? It's easier LMAO. Not having to think as hard about the timeline of everything means that I can focus more on character work, which is really my area of expertise. And it's not like I can't mess with canon (the timeline I write in splits off after the 2023 Hellfire Gala) since comic canon is already so bullshit.

8. Uhhhhhhhhhh. I actually don't know? He's kinda crafted to fit well with her so much now that I have a hard time considering it. Maybe Emma? That could be a similar and cute relationship. Same thing with like, Lorna. Maybe there's a cursed timeline where he ends up with Boom-Boom. IDK, Atticus is drawn to people with Issues (and blondes), so that's probably your best bet.

9. Woah, big morality question. The boring answer is yes because I say so. But I think removing myself from that position as his creator, I do think he's a good dude. He definitely has his issues, but ultimately he just wants the best for himself and the people he cares about. If anything dying and coming back fused to a living garden has probably made him even nicer.

10. There's def an alternate universe where he's swayed to Magento's Brotherhood for a while, and I've looked at Beast's descent into villainy as a fun What If? thing. It would have to be if Illyana had died, or he let his more controlling elements take over.

11. Plants or making him a Telepath (of the unwanted voices variety). Honestly every time I write Atti's powers in action it gives me a headache, even though I think they're legitimately cool.

12. Uhhhhhh, some amount. As he developed he's actually gotten pretty far away, but it'd be silly to say nothing about Atti is similar to me. I'm Australian, and am currently in Uni for teaching, so there's the ones that 100% still apply at least. I wish I was as much a bear as Atticus is tho, I'm a little chubby, not quite as cuddly as he is (or hairy.).

And now to your questions itself, yeah i do have couple of fav piece of the lucky luke media that i love more than the others cause i grew up with em the most like

For the comics, Achdé art has always been my favourite, not saying that the others aren't good (like them as well)it's just that the expression of the Daltons in it is PRICELESS just look at em :

They look like wet cats whenever they're sad and i love, also just look at William going "yippee" and Averell being a mamas boy look at how happy they look!!i love how he captures the anger with joe aswell , the artstyle is just*muah* chefs kiss even luke looks dupe in it my bbg never looked better.

Moving on to the shows!! Even though not alot of episodes of the new adventure of lucky luke has aired in the channel i was watching on but the Daltons episodes was one of the few that aired , and i just wanted to say that I adore the art style and how it's old comic accurate and how they're face colour change due to their moods:

and ofc how can i talk of the Daltons without mentioning their own spin-off, and yeah i know that the artstyle doesn't look like the original style but I'm thinking that's bc in the 2010s xilam (the studio) had chosen to make the lineart in their works lighter or even remove it.

but tbh i don't care much about it i think it was an amazing show and it has aired all the 2 season in the channel and it's really a funwacth to me to rewacth, love how they gave them more personality especially jack and William they deserved it+ they look so silly in a GOOD way like look at them :

And don't get me started on go west! That movie is a 10/10 one of the best things in the lucky luke franchise, the animation is so smooth and the new characters are so loveable and Luke looked so handsome in the style and ofc the Daltons had their roles in it and they never fail to make me laugh like always and their expressions?? Hello

Joe was a whole rabid dog the entire movie and i live for it and for Averell there are NO thoughts behind his eyes, jack and William were just doing nothing but giving worried looks at their brothers but it was kinda funny in a way to me.
