"Jean-Francois!" The main cast of Bunny Maloney, because why draw something trending when you can draw characters from a somewhat obscure, risqué, French cartoon from 2009! These guys were fun to draw! Had to do some thinking when replicating the cel-shaded 3D artstyle!

Barkada Trip (2005)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I remember this show pops up from morning until evening on Studio 23, especially during in timeslots reserved for anime and youth-oriented shows. It's one of few locally made animation in our country in 2000s. "Barkada Trip" is a Flash-oriented, short anime that shows about a group of friends doing funny situations in their neighborhood. The character design is akin in chibi form and has anime influence. It was released around in 2005 and they became the mascots in Studio 23 a year later. Aside from animation, one of the most memorable thing about it is that is has a great roster of soundtracks performed by some indie local bands like Kiko Machine and Aizo. The show lasted until early 2010s, perhaps that was the time Studio 23 was starting to revamp its shows to cater other audiences.
This is such a great show. I fondly remember this showed up during anime marathons every weekday afternoons.

Netflix Castlevania's art style in general is something that doesn't look half bad at a glance first, but it starts to fall a part when you see it actually animated. There's a reason why even a lot of anime go with more simple art direction and styles. The more detailed and complicated, the easier it is to mess up, go off model, and quickly fall into the uncanny valley, unless you're willing to shelve out the money and time to do it properly, which they clearly weren't. It's the same problem Sailor Moon Crystal had with the art direction they went with in it's first two seasons. What might look alright for a static illustration and cover, does not mean it will be practical for the actual animation part, especially if you don't have the time and money for it.
Pretty much.
I can't deny that the fight scenes look great, especially early on.

I really like how they animate the whip, and I especially enjoy Trevor's techniques! They managed to make him look like an actual expert.
And look at the hair and cape in the second clip! The expressions! That is good! S2E7 is the only episode I can actually say I loved, even if is breaks the lore in Dracula's death.
But it's in the small scenes that it becomes a bit off. And there are plenty of them, since these people cannot shut the fuck up lol

I hope you like Alucard's horse face :) and the dialogue :) :) and the chemistry :) :) :) kill me

This is me emerging from deep hibernation to say congratulations to the gays for RWBY
I don't go in that fandom, but as someone who used to be deep trash for sapphic content (still am tbh, just less outspoken about it) I feel like I need to give y'all a shoutout. You kept up the good fight for ten years. Bumbleby shippers are the real deal.
Also can I just say RWBY generally just isn't my cup of tea, but in terms of aesthetic? Oh my god, 10/10. Cute reserved smart girl with cat ears with a rowdy blonde ray of sunshine? Sign me the fuck up. I saw the confession all over the place and the fact it gave me feels when I didn't even know them is a testament to how well crafted that scene was. Bravo guys, bravo.

I got the feeling that Dennis the Menace is like almost an anime show that came out in 1986, it has the anime animation direction in it, it’s almost like a Japanese animation one time by Tokyo Movie Shinsha. I’m sure that Tetsuo Katayama did a wonderful job with season one.
