A little midnight rant (??) more of a ramble actually.

But anyway, I kept getting a lot of "Feminist" videos when they are actually Terf videos disguise as feminist videos or just flat-out Terf videos but don't want to use the word Terf because "it's a hateful thing to say." When really... no. It's not, it literally means Trans Exclusion Radical Feminist.

But anyway, I digress, my question, when did the word feminist lose its proper meaning?

There's a reason why I don't put feminist on my bio because many folks already (sadly) have come to the assumption that feminism/feminist means an all-women club aka "bio women" only.

When... no... feminism was started by women but only because in the working force women were really seen as stay-at-home wives. But because of the women's rights movement is when the law became more lenient in allowing women to work.

Feminist also means helping others such as men of different races as well to get proper jobs and payment as well. That sentence is gonna confuse someone sorry, to ramble more on what I mean. You have to understand the payment system. It's still a problem in today but way way back then, it was a lot worse. Many foreigners that came to America weren’t getting proper payment or not paid at all. But were really taken advataged at the fact they were aliens so their boss would make threats to them such as getting them deported or worse.

Because of the feminist movement, women realize they weren't the only ones getting mistreated by the system so we, feminist, would stick with them and fight a fight for equal rights. In which we won but obviously still need more work.

There is so much more history in which I can't really type all of that here because that would derail this post purpose on my question.

As a true feminist (ew, I don't like that I have to call myself a true feminist just so I don't lump myself with the falseys), knowing the history of what a feminist is... When did the word feminist lose it proper meaning?

I'm not chronically online as I use to be in my teen years (but knowing that bad habit messed up my mental and physical health). Please explain to me like I have been living under rock. Don't explain to me that undermine my intelligence (I've had people that done that to me before it's not fun) but in a way that is like high school teaching. Except take out the censoring bit. Hey Proshippers, Listen

You know,  as someone who has been in fandom so long that I helped produce local fanzines and my childhood internet browser was Mosaic. I feel like I need to say some things. Proshippers would get a lot less flak if y'all tagged your stuff better. Most folks are mad at proshippers because a ton of y'all include the general fandom tags, so graphic incest/rape headcanons and problematic ship art shows up in normal searches, and folks get squicked at best at triggered at worst. And y'all have way too many variations of the 'proship' tag, so that gets around tag blocking. Also, I've seen a lot of proshippers picking fights by flooding antiship tags with proship content. Meanwhile the proship tags have like, one or two haters. Y'all are kind of the aggressors here. And for the goddess' sake, stop acting like someone hating an incest or lolishota smut fic/headcanon is somehow analogous to nazi book burning. It's REALLY not. I think most of the problem is that the unyielding hand of capitalism forced all of fandom to interact when in the old days it was a bit more spread out. Certain content had its own locked communites or even separate websites. The idea that incest and to be frank pedophilic ships were more 'welcome' back in the day by wider fandom is because that stuff wasn't right out in the open. You had to actively go looking for it via websites or groups dedicated to the pairing. So the groups around it were naturally more blasé about it. It was literally by design. Meanwhile general fandom could theorize and make silly crossovers and gen fics. Nowadays, fandom is a continent worth of ecosystems in four of five public parks. We need separate spaces again. It was healthier that way. Then you can theorize in one space and head on over to another for the spicy content you want. And Gen folks couldn't stumble on said content as easily. But in the meantime, stop the victim complex and baiting and tag your stuff properly. (No general tags, keep to your ship tags). Then your 'anti' problem will drop by a good bit. Get your edgelord (picking fights on purpose and actively try to trigger folks) problem under control and the number will drop further. Youll still get death threats, because this is the internet and because both sides have a serious edgelord problem. But, go pool your resources and make your own version of the lemon archive with a nice forum. Then when the death threats come, you can literally go 'why are you here then?' AO3's tagging system is neat in the meantime, but it still has issues. Also, before the threats come. I'm not an 'anti' (unless it's RPF, which is ACTUALLY dehumanizing). I know certain fiction ain't going anywhere, even if I consider it gross. Just tag it better, ffs.

BTW, y'all REALLY need to learn the difference between media criticism and 'ban this filth' puritanical screeds. I lived in the Bible Belt during the Satanic Panic. I KNOW what ACTUAL censorship cries look like. And yes, fandom does have some serious issues. Especially with racism and misogyny. You can also criticize things you like, because nothing is perfect.

A short introduction of a Big Thinker- Meant to share, not to represent the wide fields he is dealing since the 1980s: Slavoj Zizek .

Platon dreamt of a state, led by philosophers and Zizek is kind of transposing this idea with the party Troika in Slovenia, together with two other philosophers.

Zizek, a critical and maybe unconventional thinker of our time, combing psychological methods of Lacan with the dialectic of Hegel (also Zizek tries to re-connect the Lacain rejection of philosophy). Making philosophy not only relevant in pop-cultural way, but also as a system of making an opinion in order to analyze the differences arousing in political conflicts, in historical-dialectic process. Zizek is opening discourse that is interlinking different disciplines, also connecting media as examples for underlining his point. Showing a critical understantment of happenings, that are often the product of ideology. Drawing attention of phenomena that is suppressed by media in order to let the audience in a dogmatic black-and-white-thinking, like an article published in the New York Times in 2014, where survivors of the Shoa are condemning 'the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza and the ongoing occupation and colonization of historic Palestine'. Likewise the paradox that whenever global finances crash, the stock markets register an upswing (quoting Yanis Varoufakis). Also that we do not live in a system of capitalism, more appropriate: In a Neo-Feudalism of Companies and that all groups that reject this system (mostly Islam influenced communites, but also indigenious folks..) are in the same breath presented in an anti-democratic behavior... Still I am shaked, when reading about the PR-work behind the justification of the Iraq-war and I recommend to read Zizek's work "The Borrowed Kettle" in which he is tracing the geo-political intentions behind this war. As Zizek emphasizes continously: The catastrophy has happened, but we haven't recognized. Prima facie it is some kind of uncomfortable to see and hear him speaking (touching his nose and snorting, speaking not fluently and his rhetoric skills…), when used to read him. So it was a mental work for me to 'comprehend' his theories without being extracted by those superficialities, as for my opinion, there was and is a link of fineness of in- and outside. But this is exactly the work and therapeutic aim behind Zizek, to accept our own discomfort, when hearing him, to look more into the deepness of some sentences, that seem to been thrown out a gut-feeling, but is more the work of critical analysis, not clinging into political directions of right and left, but showing the fatality in both. A stand point that is missed in the politcal discourse. It will stay a fragment to present all those enlightening ideas and summaries of Zizek, as he had also the time and experience to built his world-view around a historic-philosophic-psychological order. Not always I can agree on his ideas (e.g. ciritsing the criticers of Eurocentric methods as hypocratical, because in his opinion, the methods of critism are rooting in 'pure European thinking', but I have my problems by locating the human consciousness in one contitent, as we can not divide the reciproce influences from all time and areas, like the 'European heritage of Ancient Greece' would have been lost without the mental work in Toledo, also a wonderful proof in history how all religious were able to work together ; Also I miss a critical analysis of the Covid-pandemia in a Foucault-Bio-Power-way, not to negate the danger of the virus, but the methods of politcal practice.) But this is exactly what a good conversation must include, approach the 'truth' through discussions and disagreements.

I'm not sure if I would be able to make one either- I don't particularly enjoy talking about these people because the subject matter disgusts me but I do recognize the importance of warning the communites they're active in. It also unfortunately opens me up to harassment from proshippers- (as much as these bozos claim to be "anti-harassment" I have received quite the amount of harassment from proshippers in the past.)

You know about the whole queer discourse about whatever it is a slur or not, I stumble upon a post that is so very anti that term and the OP is basically insulting everyone who are okay with the queer term and telling others to not use it. Calling people 'homophobe' and 'waste of air' for using the queer label etc etc

I tried to be compassionate and understand their perspective and I said that I feel sorry they have bad experiences with the label but one's personal experience cannot be applied to others who are okay with that term and hence why the backlash on the notes

I also said that if someone doesn't want to be called queer then it should be respected and if someone okay with it then that should be respected as well, don't let this debate tear the community apart and trust me I think this whole intense debate and drama about the queer term are mostly only happen on internet

I'm not saying the internet doesn't affect the world outside of internet, but the discourse and drama wouldn't be this intense outside of net

Moon: You know the Unification Church does not have any secrets. Many people think it is surrounded by secrets, like some sort of super CIA-type operation…I do not have anything to hide…we operate in the open.

Before the Unification Church was incorporated in the U.S. in 1963 by Bo Hi Pak, Moon had the support of the South Korean Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA). The expansion of the cult into the U.S. was conceived as a means of influencing U.S. politics. Four of Moon’s early followers were young army officers close to Kim Jong Pil, the founding director of the KCIA and chief strategist for the Park regime. Bo Hi Pak was the KCIA liaison to U.S. intelligence at the time, stationed in the Korean Embassy in Washington. Today he is one of Moon’s top aides and president of the Washington Times. In 1962 Kim made a two-week official visit to the U.S., and Lt. Col. Bo Hi Pak arranged meetings with CIA director John McCone, defense secretary Robert McNamara, and Defense Intelligence Agency director Gen. Joseph Carroll. On his way home, Kim met with some of Moon’s followers in San Francisco. Pak’s other duties at the Korean Embassy included frequent liaison trips to the National Security Agency at Fort Meade, Maryland. Moon… has received political and financial support from Yoshio Kodama, Ryoichi Sasakawa, and other powerful Japanese right-wing figures. In 1970 the Japanese contingent of Moon’s organization sponsored the annual conference of the World Anti-Communist League.

Endogenic Behaviour

As a traumagenic system ourselves, we’ve been wanting to make a post for some time reffering to the absolute damage, manipulation and stress Endogenic systems cause to actual systems - there’s no time like the present. I’m putting my points in bullet form to make it easier on the eyes, but imagine this is all one paragraph.

Endogenics don’t suffer from disscociative amnesia, blurring, PTSD-like symptoms or any of the other things that traumagenic systems deal with on a daily basis. Even if they were real, they shouldn’t be co-opting our terms, using our resources, or creating output on those experiences - because first and foremost it is not an experience they share.

This goes double considering the amount of high profile non disordered systems speaking publicly on systemhood (a disordered experience), and thus invalidating traumagenic experiences by trying to create a watered down, paletable view of DID - which absolutley reflects on the actual systems experiencing negative symptoms.

This culture of ‘reclaiming’ flags, posts ect. is ridiculous. They were never yours to reclaim, especially considering this is often against the explicit wishes of the original creators. For a group so focused on respecting boundaries - allegedly - this is unnaceptable behaviour.

The words sysmed and traumascum. Being trans is not medicalised, being a system is. There is NO scientific evidence supporting non medicalised system experiences, and comparing traumatised systems to a group of radical exclusionists is pathetic. The word traumascum is even worse, and to use someone’s trauma to insult them is just indicative of the commuity wide lack of understanding surrounding trauma. 

Quoting an intercommunity survey and articles written by members of those communites (hello, @sophieinwonderland !) as evidence whilst also posing as a pseudo intellectual, and then preaching anti-psychiatry and anti-science viewpoints is not only irresponsible, but harmful.

Implying systems sharing their experiences of manipulation are lying or confused is not only gaslighting behaviour, but just goes to show the lack of respect for people’s trauma shown, and can make systems feel too invalidated to share their stories. Some of the responses to those posts were not only pathetic, but incredibly triggering and manipulative.
