MR. & MRS. WESKER 🤍
i was able to commission the lovely @rcehb-art on twitter for this piece of diana and wesker during their strange after-the-fact reception for their very private wedding. i am just so in love with this and how it turned out, and i can't thank rc enough !! she is so kind and amazing to work with and i can't recommend her enough if you're looking to commission artwork ♡
#commissions.#oc: diana#pair: ewskers#or should i say drs. albert & diana wesker 🖤#i literally haven't stopped staring at this since receiving the final product !! & just the whole process was so much fun & i loved seeing#it all come together 🥺 i'm just aaaaaa i adore this sm !!! also okay i think i have talked about this on here before but these two didn't#actually have like a ''wedding'' but they eloped then a bit after that alex & the birkins found out they had gotten married without telling#anyone (they knew they were engaged but yeah there were no wedding talks so to speak) so then they sort of pushed them to have some sort of#reception at least & celebrate things kinda...like they thought he would've made a big deal out of things but these two aren't all that#fussed with the idea of weddings or marriage in general (there's a lot of lore here i swear. especially on diana's part like some of you#know) so they were very private about it all !! but yes here you can see them gossiping & talking shit about umbrella employees 🤭#also this goes without saying but pls don't use or touch this at all as it's a commission & diana is my oc !! i didn't think i would need to#say that but precautions now after things that have happened on here & unfortunately made me less active...diana is very very special to me#so yeah :] and ofc never repost art that isn't yours !! that being said please go & support rc !!! she's amazing & all of her art is so so#gorgeous & she's just the absolute sweetest & a beloved mutual of mine 🤍🤍

it's time to go
James potter x reader
Summary: Angst. You love James, but it's time to go.
Warning: cheating, screaming and James being a dick.
A/n: lmao I really ran after posting like 4 fics, but I'm doing a little better and even though I'm stressed with uni I've been dying to write something, so I hope y'all enjoy. (This actually took me so long to finish and i dont lobe the ending but i needs to move on, oops)
Tumblr media
You sighed as you prepared to open the door to the house you shared with James. Once upon a time, you would've rushed in without a second thought. But lately the war had taken a toll on the two of you. Once happy moments were now filled with fear and dread, making you feel like you were drowning. And no matter how hard you tried to hold on to the love of your life, you could feel him shutting you out. James had always been an open book anyone who ever met him knew that, but lately he had built this wall meant to keep you away, only you. At first, you tried to understand and be patient considering everything you two were going through, but after countless fights of you begging for him to talk to you, you were tired. You squeezed your eyes shut once before pushing the door open and plastering a fake smile in your face, maybe today would be different.
"Jamie, I'm home, I brought your favorite from the bakery by my work!" you shouted into the house buy were greeted with only silence. After checking the house you realized you were alone which immediately sent you into a spiral of worry since James was supposed to be here an hour ago but deciding that maybe he had gotten caught up with something you tried to ignore your panic and start getting ready for your friend's Alice’s engagement party.
You heard the door open and close while you were finishing up with your hair, causing you to get up and genuinely smile when you saw James make his way to the bedroom that the two of you shared.
"I was wondering where you were, I got you some pastries they are in the counter." you tried, but he just gave you a tight-lipped smile with a wave before passing by you to your shared bedroom. You went after him and saw he was getting ready to jump in the shower. Figuring it was going to be another quiet afternoon, you sat at your vanity staring at yourself in the mirror holding back the tears threatening to spill and ruin your makeup and just prayed that at the wedding maybe you two could have fun like you used to. You didn't even realize how long you sat there until you heard James get out of the bathroom and start getting ready, and you decided to just get dressed too and sit by the window with a book while you waited for James to be ready.
"Are you okay?" You were broken out of your train of thought by James’s question.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be. " You answered, giving him a similar smile to the one he gave you when he arrived.
"I don't know, you just keep staring into space, and it's kinda creepy." he tried to joke, but what once would've made you smile and roll your eyes instead caused a knot to form at your throat again, and you felt tears prickling your eyes once again.
"Well what am I supposed to do is not like I can talk to you anymore James you always shut me out, and I don’t know what to do anymore to get you to bring down the walls that keep shutting me out! I don't even know what I did for you to shut me out!" You couldn't help but let out everything for the millionth time, hoping that maybe today would be the last time you two were having this conversation and that he would finally open up and let you two go back to normal.
However, you soon realized that it was only wishful thinking because James immediately lowered his head and mumbled "For fuck's sake y/n not this again"
"Yes, this again, James! Please talk to me! Stop shutting me out, please!" you were a sobbing mess by this point, begging him to let you in, not caring if you ruined your makeup.
But James just shook his head and walked out, "I'll wait for you in the car while you get cleaned up, we can't do this right now, or we’ll be late." just like that, he left you alone frozen with mascara running down your cheeks. You felt numb and just quickly tried to clean up but when you were done and staring at your reflection stare back at you with puffy red eyes you just felt pathetic.
On the way neither one of you talked James kept his eyes on the road while you looked out the window too lost in your thoughts to realize your usual music that would usually be playing while the two of you drove was not playing, James realized, and he felt like he was suffocating in the empty car ride.
The wedding was beautiful and despite your problems you couldn't help but imagine that one day it would maybe be you and James standing in an altar professing your love in front of all your friends and family. You turned to look at him as Alice and Ben were sharing their vows, only to catch him staring at Lily, and she was staring right back at him. You felt something break in you as confusion overtook you. Why is he looking at her?
Was she the reason that you were slowly getting kicked to the curb? Back in Hogwarts everyone knew that James was obsessed with Lily but when she finally gave him a chance things just didn't work out. Then you caught James's attention, and the rest is history.
You tried to focus on the happy couple in the altar as the ceremony came to an end, but you felt someone was stabbing you and twisting the knife.
By some miracle during the reception James asked you to dance which shocked you, but his eyes seemed so sincere and like they were almost begging that you couldn't help but to foolishly be filled with hope once again. As you took his hand, he genuinely smiled at you again the way he used to with that same boyish grin that made you fall for him 5 years ago.
The two of you danced in the center of the dance floor spinning and laughing around, you had not been this happy in so long. After a particularly long fit of giggles, James pulled you closer and looked into your eyes with a spark that the two of you hadn't shared in months. When you two were about to lock lips, someone cleared their throat besides you two and the two of you pulled slightly away.
"James could I have a word with you please?" Lily asked looking at James who immediately pulled away from you and went with her after telling you he'd be right back. Just like that you were brought back to reality the cloud 9 that you had been in for a little bit long gone, and again the sinking feeling invaded you, feeling like you were drowning. You needed a drink.
You went to the bar and after getting your drink you decided it wasn't enough, and you needed air. You walked out of the salon where everybody was and made your way to the garden, and that's when you heard it.
"James! You said you two were over, but it sure as hell doesn't look like it! I can't beli-"
"I know, I know, but I can explain Lily please! I-I-I came here with her because she was embarrassed to come alone, so I promised this would be our last outing together." You felt your heart stop, air getting caught in your throat.
"What? That doesn't-" Lily started as you felt the glass in your hands slip and shatter on the ground.
Both of them froze and looked at where you were standing, you could feel a knot forming in your throat but glared at the pair in front of you with tears forming in your eyes.
"Y/n I can explain!"
" I think both of us want an explanation, James, but she deserves it more. Y/n/n I'm so sorry I had no idea you two were still together." Lily went to walk away and James was about to chase after her when she heard you scoff and as you turned around.
"Say goodbye to Alice and Ben for me, would you? I have to go." you rushed out before basically sprinting to the nearest exit, hearing James chase after you, which wasn't hard considering he was taller than you and an athlete. He grabbed your arm when you two had made it to the parking lot and turned you around.
"So that's why I'm getting the cold shoulder." you blurted out before whatever he was able to utter whatever shit excuse he was going to tell you. You almost wanted to laugh, which made you feel like you were insane, but you thought about all the hours you had spent over the past couple of months looking in the mirror trying to see what was wrong with you, overanalyzing every tiny detail in your face. Laying in bed staring at the ceiling, replaying everything you had done that day that might have set James off.
"No no baby, I swear it's not what it looks like, Lily is just bitter we didn't work out, and she's trying to sabotage us! I've just been so stressed because of it, and I am so sorry I let it out on you."
"Bullshit James! You were literally just talking shit about me before i showed up and ruined your little act." You were seething by this point, and James flinched after your outburst. You had never been one to scream, and he knew that, but right now you honestly felt like nothing was the same and you weren't the same. "A-and you wanted to chase after her and you know what? maybe you should. Maybe you have a better shot at getting her back because we are over James Potter! I-I am so tired... I-" You were crying from all the different emotions you were feeling at that moment. Finally getting some enlightenment about why your relationship was dying gave you some relief of the crushing pain you were feeling being hunted by the "what if's" and "why's" you weren't the problem.
James tried to get close and wrap his arms around you. god he felt like an idiot for hurting you. He honestly doesn't know what he was thinking. He had hoped you never found out and had planned to break up with Lily soon enough, but he just needed to explore a little what it could've been like if he had stayed with her. Plus the thrill of it was something that James had loved for the time being, but he never wanted to hurt you. His heart broke at the sight of you, he couldn't imagine what you were feeling.
"Don't even think about it! Don't ever touch me again don't ever look at me, I hate you so much Potter, I don't want to know anything about you from this day on James! We now mean nothing to me, we are strangers!" You glared at him in a way he had never seen you look at anyone, and felt his heart drop.
He tried to protest, feeling the tears leave his own eyes at the idea of losing you completely forever. But you just turned around and walked away.

Marriage (Part 4)
Pairing: Max Verstappen x ex fiancée!reader Mason Mount x Fiancée!reader
Warnings: nothing I guess
Summary: Max leaves his fiancée y/n at the altar on their wedding day but after years of regretting what he did, by a miracle of fate (or Lando) she appears in his life again.
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wasn't at all comfortable with having that letter in our house.
My fiancé lives in the same place where the letter from my ex-fiancé/almost-husband was, I didn't have the courage to read it even though I almost did on the day he gave it to me, so I kept it on my bedside table where I knew Mason wouldn't touch it because it was as private to me as his was.
Mason had been invited to Barcelona that weekend to watch the Formula 1 race and he was trying to convince me to go with him.
"Please, love, I have a ticket that I asked for especially for you because I know you enjoy watching Formula 1 with me." He said, taking my hand. "I don't understand why you don't want to go, is something wrong?"
"It's not that..."
"Then let's go, please?" He asks, holding my face and pouting.
"All right." I give in and he smiles, kissing me all over the face.
"Then pack your things because we're going tomorrow." He says excitedly, leaving the room.
I knew it was wrong to be with him for years and to be engaged to him and leave that part of my life hidden, I love him and he's great but something in me doesn't want him to know because I don't want him to do the same thing as Max, I don't know if I could get over it if it happened again.
But I knew I'd have to tell him at some point and I decided I'd do it after the weekend.
...
When we got there and got ready to go, that's when Mason handed me the Redbull passes.
"Here." He puts it around my neck and kisses me, taking my hand and then we enter the paddock.
It was obvious that the first thing we were going to do was go to the Redbull garage and see Max.
Since the day he gave me the letter, I haven't said anything to him, firstly because I haven't read it and secondly because I don't know if I'm really going to talk to him.
We talked with Max and Checo for half an hour until Mason came up with the idea of walking around the paddock and even if I didn't want to, I'd give anything to get out of there, so that's what we did.
"Are you excited?" He squeezes my hand and smiles.
"Actually yes, thank you for persuading me to come." I said sincerely, since being here even with everything was really nice.
"Max is nice." He comments.
"Yes, he is." I smiled and gave him a kiss. "Where are the boys?"
"I think Ben and Reece went for a walk too."
"I'm hungry." I say and he laughs.
"Really?" He says ironically and hugs me and spins me around and I start laughing. "Let's eat then."
We were in the garage looking at the end of qualifying and then Mase came out to hand the tire to Max, my stomach flipped when they both smiled for the photo and I swear I could have fainted right there.
"Are you okay?" Christian asks from beside me.
"What?" I asked, startled.
"Are you okay? You look like you're going to pass out any minute."
"Yes, I'm fine."
"Look, I know about you and Max." He says, catching me off guard. "I remember you from a photo he carried everywhere."
"What photo?"
"It's a picture of you two hugging, I think it was the day he proposed to you. He used to say it was the best day of his life and so he carried it around everywhere, telling me the story of what happened to you."
"Can you not tell anyone? Please."
"I won't, I promise."
"Thank you."
"Seeing him together can't be the best thing for you."
"Certainly not."
"I don't think he knows and that's why you're upset."
"Yeah, I didn't think my old life would collide with my current life. I never told him because I didn't want him to do the same thing Max did to me."
"I'm sorry about that."
"You don't have to be, it's not your fault."
"But I'm sorry." I turned and saw Max standing there. "I'm sorry you feel that way."
"Look, forget it, okay?" I said, but he followed me and grabbed my arm. "Can you leave me alone?"
"What else can I do to make you forgive me?"
"Nothing, I don't want you to do anything." I say and then I stared to go.
"Why is it so hard for you to forgive me?"
"Because I can't forgive you, okay? If I forgive you, that means I'd have gotten over everything you put me through and I haven't, so that's why I can't forgive what you did."
"Can we at least talk?"
"No, I'm not going to do that here in a place full of reporters so they can put me in the spotlight, so can you just accept it and let me be happy?"
"Fine, I won't bother you anymore." He says, walking away and leaving me alone.
...
We were back at the hotel and I was just finishing my shower and when I came out of the bathroom Mason was looking seriously at his cell phone.
"Is everything all right?"
"Max posted a photo thanking the fans for the pole position and I commented and ended up seeing a comment below talking about you and Max." I closed my eyes and sighed. "Can you explain to me why someone said that missed you two?"
"Mase I..."
"You were his fiancée?"
"Yes."
"And why didn't you tell me?" he says calmly.
"Because it still hurts me to remember."
"Do you want to tell me what happened?" he asks, knocking on the bed next to him.
"Before I tell you, I just wanted to say that I'm sorry I didn't tell you before and that I was planning to tell you after this weekend."
"And why after this particular weekend?"
"Because I know you like Formula 1 and you were so excited that I didn't want to ruin it for you."
"And you were willing to have to see your ex just so I could have some fun?" I agreed. "Now I understand why you didn't want to come."
"Yeah, I'll tell you everything." He agrees and then I start telling.
After I'd told him everything and cried myself to sleep, Mason and I were cuddled up on the bed in the hotel room after I wake up and calmed down.
"I'm sorry for not telling you sooner and for lying all this time. I feel terrible about it and I completely understand if you don't want to marry me anymore. I know that I'm complicated and that after this you have every right not to trust me anymore, so I..."
"Hey, hey, it's okay." He holds my face. "I still want to marry you and I always will, I don't love the fact that you lied to me all this time but I also don't blame you for being afraid that it would happen again."
"Thank you for understanding me." I say, putting my face to his neck.
"It's okay." He smiles and gives me a kiss. "Now let's go to sleep because we have a race to watch tomorrow."

THE COMPLICATIONS OF A FAKE ENGAGEMENT 2 ☁︎ ANTHONY LOCKWOOD
Tumblr media
⚜ PART ONE
Tumblr media
GENRE ➺ fluff
SYNOPSIS ➺ lockwood buys a wedding dress for you and he doesn't explain why.
WARNINGS ➺ verbal fighting and an angry confession
DISCLAIMER ➺ i haven't read the books so the characterization/alignment with the canonical story may not line up, and there's so much cheese i might as well become a fromager.
NOTES ➺ this isn't really a series but i felt like giving them a happy ending at least. shoutout to @simrah1012 who asked for a sequel! thank you for your support!
Tumblr media
He reserved the dress. After all that talk of cutting down expenses this month, he had it reserved. That was a check every month you (read: he) couldn't pay for it full-price. There was no room for negotiation when he wore his thinking face. So, you refrained from chewing him out in the presence of Kelly.
Your silence meant a storm was brewing. He knew better than to poke the bear. Honestly, you were just thinking of how to go about it. How to ask him why he chose to reserve the dress rather than discard it.
The reason you were there had been dealt with. You had the evidence linking the boutique to the investigation. Why the expenditure? It was like an itch that wouldn't go away. It bugged you. Guilted you. Kept you up at night for a week straight.
Even now when your eyes are burning into the back of his head, you couldn't put yourself into his headspace and understand why.
"You should consider getting a camera, pictures last longer."
You straighten in your seat, ears burning. The same boyish smile he used to get out of trouble flashes in your direction and that confirms to you that he knows what you're thinking.
"Idiot," you say.
His fingers loosen around his book. "Pardon?"
"Yeah, I'd like to know why Lockwood is an idiot as well," George says, breaking into the conversation, cozying into his chair with a tight-lipped smile.
It wasn't uncommon for you to humble Lockwood. George had turned it into his favorite pass time. Considering the two-person mission last week, he wanted to know what exactly warranted the blistering insult.
Sensing his anticipation, Lucy grew curious. She lays her magazine on her lap and fixes her sit. "I'd like to know, too."
"Bit unfair, isn't it?" Lockwood says dryly.
"It's private," you say. The defining tilt of your head and the scrunch of your brows made George and Lucy attentive enough. "You two mind? We'll see you for dinner."
"'Course," George chirps. He shoved his papers under his armpit and headed for the door. Lucy followed begrudgingly. George waves over his shoulder before closing it. "Don't kill him, y/n. Or do. Whichever you feel."
"See you at dinner!" Lucy adds before the click of the lock confirms that you had gotten the privacy you asked for.
You round on Lockwood to find that he was setting up to leave too.
"Client asked–"
"You can respond later," you dismiss.
He presses his lips together, likely coming up with another bollucks excuse to make an exit. But he also knows you, and he knows there is no leaving. So, he comes up with an alternate route;
"y/n," he says, tone on the brink of scolding you.
It doesn't work. Evidently.
You scoff, folding your arms. "You don't get to talk to me like that. Why did you reserve the dress? That was completely unnecessary-"
"No, it wasn't."
"Yes, it was!" You pinch your jacket to keep your tone from escalating any further. You wanted to fight. You wanted to fight with him, not against him, but your confusion had boiled to anger and frustration. "We're neck deep in debt and that dress will cost a fortune to pay for and- and-" you lost your voice for a moment. "And it's not like I'll be marrying anyone."
"You will," he says with certainty. "And you'll make someone very happy, y/n."
"But not now! Not at a time like this, Lockwood. Paying for it is more of a burden-"
"Not when it comes to you."
You lunge forward, fisting the his shirt with an intensity that turns your knuckles white. "Will you listen to yourself? Why would you even think of doing that?"
His hand lands on top of yours, gentle and kind. He was warmer than you, always has been. But there's something new in the way he squeezes your hands. He doesn't take your hands off him, simply letting his rest on top of yours. "We take care of each other." He says it like you don't know it already.
"We always do," you agree, lapsing into a calmer tone. It doesn't take away from the guilt eating at you. "But we could have used that money for the house. Or George. Or Lucy." For family, in essence.
His lips tip up, very slight and with a feel of melancholy. "But we don't always know what's going to happen. I could disappear tomorrow–"
"I won't allow that."
He chuckles, brightening at your defiance. "What I mean to say is," his other hands drifts to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. After that, his hand stops under your ear, resting against your jaw. "Getting you that dress is a heartfelt favor if the worst comes to pass. I still want to be a part of an important day of your life." His voice quivers ever so slightly. Lockwood tried to mask it was a cough but you had already heard, and you weren't blind, you know that look. "This is my way of taking care of you."
Your grip on his shirt loosens, grasping the wrist of the hand touching your face. "I'd rather have you than that overpriced dress."
He offers a lazy smile. "Don't lie. I saw how you were looking at your reflection."
Your hold on his wrist tightens, your frown grows deeper. "How was I looking at my reflection?"
"Like you were seeing a dream come true." Kind of like how he looked at you, if you had taken the time to acknowledge it.
You scoff. "And you were thinking about my wedding day, without you in it?"
"I think of you first. I promised." He knew that wasn't the right answer.
"Unbelievable." You shove him away. Hugging yourself and backing away until your leg hits the edge of a couch. "You talk and take risks as if no one will miss you. If you want to be there for me, take care of yourself so you can actually show up!"
"It's not that easy," he responds, empty hands falling to his side. He even turns away, and his refusal to even face you fans the flames once more. "You..."
"I what?" you take a step closer, daring him to finish what he was saying.
He faces you and you're taken aback by the glint of tears edging his brown eyes. They stick to his lashes, on the edge of falling and staining his cheeks, but he's Lockwood, so he blinks to keep it in. It breaks your heart even more.
"You deserve better," he whispers. Some part wishes you didn't hear, but he knows you did.
He's quiet as your mouth falls open and tears appear in your eyes. His nails dig into his palm to keep himself from sweeping you into his arms; Invisible shackles chain him to his spot, leaving him to watch as you cover your mouth and cry.
Even then, your eyes shine with anger. Your wipe at your cheeks furiously, turning your skin red. "How could you say that?"
"Because it's true." He regains the feeling in his limbs but they feel like jelly as he drunkenly motions the world around you. "Everything in this house is old and outdated and covered in dust! You have suitors that own pristine, marble houses without a speck or memories that make you cry. One day, you could live there instead of here, and you'd be happier because you've always wanted a big, bright house."
Your nails dig into your arms, jaw tight with tension. "This is home, Lockwood! I wouldn't change Portland Row for the biggest castle in England. You would know that if you just asked me." You took a shuddering breath. "And yes, maybe I'd be happy in those houses I talked about when I was seven but I've grown older, just as you have, and I know what really matters to me now. If I wanted those fantasies you expect of me, I would have accepted some richman's proposal. But I didn't, because you scare them away and I know you know I wouldn't have left even if they had asked me. But for the sake of it, I need to ask; If you wanted to send me away so badly, why haven't you?"
"Are you blind?" He shakes his head in disbelief. After all that, he has to spell it out for you. "Because I love you!"
For ten seconds, all you can hear is your breathing. The climb of emotions coming to a crescendo as you walk to him. He meets you in the middle and your arms come around him; his come around you, and finally, you kiss.
When you break for air, he holds fast to you. His forehead on yours like parting would hurt. "I don't want to lose you," he confesses, his eyes staying closed. "And I thought it would be easier for you if I wasn't in the picture–"
"I want you there," you say pointedly. Like your statement could beat away the rest of the doubt swirling in his head. "I want you. I want you and me, together. I don't want to lose you just as much as you don't want to lose me."
He pulls you closer, until you can feel his heart beat in sync with yours. "I love you." He says, and it sets him free. "You're my best friend."
"Always have been, always will be." That's a promise you press onto his lips. You bring his hand to your lips and place a kiss on his bruised knuckle.
He smiles for real and you can't help but copy. "I'm supposed to do that," he complains.
"Too slow," you laugh. You brush your nose against his and feel his hand settle on the small of your back. "I love you."
He laughs and it tickles your lips.
"Pinch me, I'm dreaming." You oblige and he yelps. "Not literally, y/n."
"No pet name?"
"No. I like your name."
"Yeah?"
He ghosts his lips over yours, unable to stop smiling. "Yeah. However," he switches to that tone that makes you want to strangle him sometimes. "We have got to tackle the issue of your last name. It doesn't go that well with your first."
"How do you propose we fix that?" Both your arms drape over his shoulder, playing with the overgrown hair at his nape.
"Well, I'll attend your wedding and we get it changed."
"Changed to what?" You tilt your head and laugh when he angles his to chase you.
"Mine, of course," he proclaims proudly. His smile is so wide you notice the blush on his cheeks now, it makes you weak in the knees.
Still, you can't help but tease. "That would be confusing for Lucy and George though. We'd both be turning our heads when they say 'Lockwood'."
"Now that problem is one I dream of coming true."
He steals a yelp from you as he dips you, enjoying how you cling to his shoulders before he lowers his head and finally catches your lips.
"Cheesy," George shudders. He and Lucy had heard the loudest parts of the argument from the kitchen, including Lockwood's long awaited confession.
"I find it sweet," Lucy shrugs, turning a page of her magazine. "But then I remember it's Lockwood and y/n and cringe as well."
"Oh, Luce, I haven't even considered that they'd get even worse."
"What do you mean?"
George points his wooden spoon at Lucy. "If the pair or them pining was bad enough, we have to see them–" he gulps, like the idea was scarier than the Red Room. "–be in love."
Both shuddered.

hi! can you write with prompts 1, 2 and 31 with daniel ricciardo or george russell, like a friends to lovers?
10 years in the making
George Russell x driver!reader
A/N: This is wayyyy longer than I expected it to be. Hope you enjoy :)
You've known George since you were both seven. Karting together. Its always been you and George. It was very rare to see one of you with out the other. You're parents made jokes that you'd marry each other and your response was always the same, "We're just best friends." But when you got older those feelings changed.
15 years old. Racing was getting serious for the both of you, meaning you spent even more time together and competing. It was a dream. That's when you started seeing George in a different light. He was no longer George Russell, your best friend. Now he was George Russell, the boy you fell head over heels for but could never have.
It pained you to have these feelings. He would never feel the same. He saw you like a sister. You were in love with someone you knew would never love you back. So you tried, with everything in you, to forget these feelings.
21 years old. Entering formula one with your best friends. You and George had both signed for Williams. While you were excited to be in F1 and have a friend as your teammate, seeing George non stop wasn't going to help with these feelings. For six years you couldn't rid yourself of this longing and empty feeling.
You'd never dated anyone. George, Lando and Alex always questioned you on your love life and you never had anything to offer. You didn't want to date, you only wanted George. Every time you imagined your future George was the main component. You couldn't count the amount of times you've pictured your first date, first kiss, first anniversary, engagement, wedding, first child. All you wanted was for George to want you like you want him.
You noticed a slight change in George's behaviour in your rookie year. He became more flirty than he ever was. But you didn't want to get your hope up. He now had thousands if girls throwing themselves at him. That's just how he talks to everyone.
When George moved to Mercades you were relived. You loved spending time with George, but it was killing you to have to be with him more than everyone else. Now you had Alex as your teammate.
Alex was always questioning you on your love life. He would bring it up the most around George. He was the most observant over the years. He noticed your longing stares, the way your eyes would light up around George and your immense annoyance when ever George talked about a girl he liked. Alex knew. He knew the minute you fell, but he never spoke to you about it.
Race week, meaning you had to see George. George, who had recently broken up with his girlfriend for no apparent reason.
The five of you, Charles, Lando, George, Alex and yourself, were sat in the drivers hospitality, talking.
"And this is horsey last week. he broke a vase jumping off the shelf." Alex was showing everyone a picture of his cat.
"Is he okay?" Charles asked, concerned about the animals wellbeing.
"A piece of glass got stuck in his paw so we had to take him to the vets to get it removed."
Charles PR manager showed up a little later to usher him to his duties. Lando's manager soon followed. It was just you, Alex and George.
"So you and carmen broke up." Alex turned to George.
"Yeah." George seemed nervous about the topic.
"What happened then?"
"Well, I realised I have feelings for someone else and it'd be unfair to her to waste her time when I love someone else, y'know?"
"Yeah." the room was silent for a moment until Alex spoke again, "Who is she then?"
"What?" George looked terrified, eyes bulging out of his head.
"Who do you have feelings for?"
"It, uh, it doesn't matter." George struggled with his words, wanting to avoid the question, "It's nothing anyway."
"Well, its clearly something if you broke up with carmen 'cause of her."
"I mean, I-"
Before George could continue his sentence all three of your PR managers came to rush you to pre-race media.
The race went okay, you and Alex both scoring points. While you were happy about that, you couldn't stop thinking about George.
Everyone was walking away from the media pen, your eyes caught on Geroge.
"Crushing hard, huh?"
"What!?" You spun around to find Alex with a huge smirk on his face.
"It's obvious you like him."
"Like who?"
"George."
"I, I, wha-, I mean, no." you stumbled over your words, struggling to form a proper sentence.
"You're blushing."
"I'm not." your hands touched your face to be met with your burning skin. Alex laughed lightly at your defensiveness.
"Don't laugh." you were embarrassed to say the least, "How long have you known?"
"Too long."
...
Now knowing for sure of your feelings for George, Alex set out on a little mission. After lots of pestering George, Alex heard the best thing in the world.
"Come on, you always tell me who you like." Alex whined.
"God, you sound like a teenager." George stated, walking away.
"Just tell me." Alex ran in front of him, blocking his exit, "I won't move move until you do." There was a minuet of silence.
"Fine, I'll tell you." George sighed as Alex's face lit up with excitement.
"It's y/n, okay." George whispered, hoping Alex couldn't hear his confession.
"Didn't quite catch that." Alex teased.
"It's y/n! I like, no, I love y/n."
"See, was that so hard."
"Just move."
...
3 months since your conversation with Alex. He was putting his plan into action.
"Lily, where are you taking me?"
Lily said she had an amazing surprise for you, so now you were blindfolded and being dragged to an unknown location.
"You'll see, just be patient."
A salty smell hit you. Sand beneath your feet, dipping from your weight. Seagulls squawking.
"We're here!" Lily sounded so excited.
When she removed your blindfold you were met with the most romantic picnic ever. Candles, rose petals, wicker basket.
"If you wanted to take me on a date all you had to do was ask." you laughed. Lily laughed with you.
"No, this is for you and a special someone." she couldn't stop her excited giggles.
Before you could respond, you noticed Alex in the distance leading a blindfolded George. You were speechless. When they reached the picnic, Alex had the biggest grin on his face.
"We're here." Alex said to George.
"Finally," George sounded relived and slightly annoyed, "We've been walking for ages."
When Alex removed his blindfold you felt your heart beat a hundred times faster, like it was going to jump out of your chest.
When your eyes met it was like every worry or fear you ever had was just gone. Your heart beat slowed. It was like you and George were in your own world. You didn't even notice Lily and Alex leaving.
"Y/n." George whispered after what felt like a life time.
"George."
"So we both got tricked here by Alex?" he smiled
"Yeah." you could barely believe this was happening.
In unison, you both sat down on the checkered, red picnic blanket. Opening the basket, you were met with a beautiful selection of cakes and sandwiches.
You sat for hours just talking. Reminiscing. Realising the years you both wasted, being in love with each other and being to scared to admit it.
"The baskets empty." you stated.
George didn't respond. When you turned to look at him he reached his hand up to caress your cheek softly. without a word, his lips were on yours. In that moment, everything felt right. You fit like two puzzle pieces, you were made for each other.
When you pulled away, foreheads touching still, George spoke the words you longed to hear fall from his lips for the past ten years.
"Y/n y/l/n, will you be my girlfriend?"
With a smile so big it physically hurt, you responded, "Of course, George Russell."
Your lips met again. You were in heaven and never planned to leave.

Rebelcaptain Fluffbruary: Day 2
for the prompt "Engagement" slightly suggestive themes but nothing too over the top
“There you are.”
Cassian found her behind the building next to the dumpsters, smoking a cigarette under the harsh light of the lamppost. Must have made quite the sight, in her heels and thin cocktail dress, full face of makeup, hair styled perfectly.
Normally, she wouldn’t have bothered, but the Organas were rich rich, and Leia may have strongly implied that she needed everything, and everyone, to be perfect tonight. Wedding planning was a bitch, or so Jyn had heard, and she was quite certain she’d never seen Leia so stressed as she was the last few months. From troubles with the venue, Bail’s unexpected heart attack last month (he was fine now, thankfully, but he’d given his family quite the scare), and the caterer canceling just weeks before the wedding, Leia may have been just one more mishap away from calling off the whole thing. And it would have broken Han’s heart, as well as her own; so Jyn sucked it up and played the part of the dutiful bridesmaid as best as she could.
After all, the bride could have whatever she wanted on her big day. And thankfully, the ceremony went off without a hitch, rings and I dos were exchanged, a kiss was shared. Han and Leia officially became husband and wife, and now everyone could relax; let the champagne flow.
“Sorry, just needed some fresh air,” Jyn said as Cassian approached her. She was happy for her friends, but this wasn’t her scene. The ballroom had been stuffy and loud, and full of wealthy guests who made her feel incredibly out of place — for example, Justice Mon Mothma who smiled and talked to her like they knew each other but whose single earring probably cost more than Jyn’s entire outfit altogether.
Jyn was starting to feel like she was going to crawl out of her skin, and when she felt her head begin to throb faintly, she made her escape. Cassian had been chatting with the Damerons when she sneaked out, but she’d been waiting for him to come looking.
He stopped beside her, lips pulling into a frown as his gaze narrowed on the cig between her fingers. She didn’t normally smoke so much these days, but she needed the excuse. “You okay?”
Jyn waved him off. “Yeah, I’m fine. I just don’t like crowds.” Again, happy. It was just a lot.
“Do you wanna go?”
“As the bridesmaid, I don’t think I’m legally allowed.” Her lips curled into a smirk as she dragged her eyes across his body with obvious intention. Damn, he always looked fine in a suit, but the dark blue color was a nice touch. She’d been itching to get her hands on him all day. “But you know, a quickie would help. There’s no one else around.”
He barked a laugh. “Next to the dumpster? I don’t think so.”
“Aw, you’re no fun,” she pouted.
He leaned against the wall, crossing his arms as he watched her. Jyn stubbed out her cig before joining him, close enough that their arms brushed.
“It’s a lot, isn’t it?”
“It’s exhausting,” she admitted with an exhale. “I’d never do this.”
Cassian tensed up next to her, a frown twitching on his lips. Jyn wasn’t sure what to make of the tight look on his face.
“Never?”
“God no!” she scoffed. “The pressure for everything to be perfect, the money you practically throw out the window, everyone’s eyes on you, everyone trying to talk to you. Hell, the planning alone... The whole thing sounds like a nightmare.”
Realization dawned on his face, and his posture relaxed a bit. “You’re talking about the party.”
“Well, yes,” she said slowly, unsure what he thought she meant. “I’d elope, ideally.”
“I can see that,” he nodded, and she could practically hear him overthinking as he sucked his lower lip into his mouth, gazing at her with a strange expression. Then he quirked his eyebrows at her with a playful spark, though she could still see the nerves he was trying to disguise. “But you know, traditionally, one would need someone to elope with. Have anyone in mind?”
Jyn stared at him for a long second. The shy little smile pulling at his lips, the hopeful hesitation in his eyes, the nervous energy as he waited for an answer.
He didn’t mean what she thought he meant, did he?
“Cassian, don’t fuck with me,” she said slowly, seriously.
All traces of humor evaporated from his face as he curled a hand around her waist and pulled her to his chest. “Elope with me, Jyn Erso.”
Her hands sought purchase on his shoulder, then in his hair, drifting lower to caress his cheek. A strange laugh bubbled out of her.
“Leia and Han will be mad if we upstage them,” she said, but there was no heart in it.
“Nobody has to know,” he murmured and leaned closer like he was going to kiss her, but when she tried to close the gap, he pulled away. Just a little — his mouth still hovered inches away as he pressed his forehead to hers. Jyn’s eyes fluttered closed. “Chirrut, Baze, Bodhi, Kay… That’s all we need. We’ll tell everyone else later.”
She pulled him down for a kiss, unable to stop herself anymore. He didn’t protest, cradling her cheek like she was something precious as she lost herself in him for a few seconds.
“Okay,” she said with a bright smile when she pulled away.
“Okay?” he raised his eyebrows, his tone teasing. “That’s all I get? Just okay?”
“You proposed to me next to the dumpsters,” she pointed out, jerking her head towards said dumpsters. And after refusing to fuck her next to it too… The hypocrisy.
He barked out a laugh and leaned in to press another kiss to her lips, almost like he couldn’t help it. “Fair enough. I’m sorry it wasn’t terribly romantic.”
“Don’t care,” she sighed into his mouth, then peppered his cheek and jaw with little kisses, clutching at his shoulders, unable to stop touching him. “Don’t need romantic as long as it’s you.”
“Now that’s very romantic,” he teased, but his eyes were warm and full of wonder, and she felt like she could get high on it. How she would go back to the wedding without anyone noticing that something was different, she had no idea. She’d never given a shit about weddings or marriage, had never fantasized about it as a little girl, and yet…
Every single atom of her wanted to be with Cassian forever. Wanted to tie her life to his, bind their hearts, merge their souls. Wanted to become one with him and turn to stardust together.
Marriage could never properly convey what she and Cassian shared, but humankind has yet to invent a way to actually bind your soul to someone’s, so it was the next best thing.
“We should go back,” Cassian murmured, but he didn’t much seem like he wanted to. His fingers carded through her hair, caressing her cheek, occasionally stealing a kiss.
“Mhmm. Think about that quickie though,” she breathed into his mouth.
He shook his head at her and gave her another kiss that stole her breath. “Jyn, trust me, a quickie won’t cut it right now. Unless you want the whole wedding party to hear you scream my name.”
Recognizing a defeat when she saw one, Jyn finally stepped out of his embrace, but not without giving him a sly smirk. “Big talk, Andor. Better be certain you can deliver on that.”
“Oh, I’m pretty certain.”
He reached for her to link their hands together as they walked back to the reception, and warmth spread like honey in her chest, slowly but surely. She couldn’t wait to do this for the rest of her life.

RANDOM DEVIL'S NIGHT THOUGHTS
~NUMBER 45~
Things that were not in NIGHTFALL but should have been
(There might be some ranting soo bear with it, you may or may not agree with them) ->
1. Emory and winter not even sharing one single sentence.
Are you telling me two bestest of buddies Damon and Will are married but their significant others did not even share 1 single sentence. NOTHING. ZERO. NADA. Yaaa right.
I am suppose to believe it?
But yeah sure Rika was always there. ALWAYS?? Why just why? Just once let banks and winter talk.
2. Two of the most awesome characters of the entire devil's night EMORY SOFIA SCOTT and NIVOKA SARAH BANKS are not best friends???
Let us all not live in a delusional and finally accept the fact that EMORY and BANKS are best buddies.
Like imagine the sarcasm, sass and obviously how they both are now going to humble the Horsemen and everyone else.
They LITERALLY have sooooo many topics to talk about.
They both definitely meet 2 or 3 times a week just these two and chat and be as awesome and cool as they are.
But yes we didn't got this either. I was soo excited when the two best girls em and banks were supposed to meet but did we got it no. Apparently alex was important. * insert eye roll* ( everyone have the same thoughts here lets not lie)
3. Will not explaining his tattoos
William aaron payne grayson III has been obsessed OBSESSED with Emory Scott, we all know that, its no secret.
It was mentioned in corrupt that he got tattoos while he was in jail, WHEN he didn't knew about what em and martin did. WHEN he was hopelessly in love with her.
So i don't believe that 90% of his tattoos are not related to her one way or other. NOPE JUST NOPE.
So we all deserved a chapter when he told her the meaning of his tattoos and what they signifies after they were married.
4. Emory not getting her own wedding
Emory has the most painful life, she was not at all happy when she was in high school. And after she went to Berkeley when her gazebo burned she didn't let herself be happy.
So just once ONCE in her life can this girl get something for her just for her only.
Don't get me wrong the wedding was cute( it wasn't).
But EMORY deserved a day just for her and will that she shouldn't share with anyone else.
After everything she went through all the pain and hardship, and all the things will and emmy together as a couple went through they deserved a day for just them.
5. Emory Scott smiling in the present chapters
In the entire present timeline all we got was will and emmy fighting, I just wanted 1 chapter just her smiling and finally being happy after all the things. It doesn't matter how, she can be alone with micah or rory or even will. Just her happy and smiling.
And i really think this and tattoo excerpt should have been there instead of AA.
6. More time between MICAH , RORY and EM
In the short time em was in blackchurch only micah was nice to her and rory was well him. But the scenes when Micah and Em dances together and when these two cuties stood up for her when the entire Horsemen clan was treating Emory so bad so so bad these 3 have my heart. They are the brothers she deserves.
I even like how she described them during the wedding.
So yes they should have had 1 or 2 more scenes together for example when they all went shopping after the engagement.
7. Emory's Backstory
There was a 9 years gap, 9 YEARS. So much can happen in that time. But we don't know anything, literally anything about her during that time. I genuinely wanted to know how she coped with the break up with the love of her life WILL, how did she survive in that 1 year when he was not there, how was her college life, how was her graduation, her ex-boyfriend ( she must have dated someone right),how is her job. Anything would have worked but no did we got anything, no we didn't. But what did we got, repeated reminder of will and alex( i get it they were together but why throw it in her face when she was already soo insecure). This novel should have focused on those years when will and emmy were apart and how her life was in California instead on ALEX( I said what i said she got way too much page space in a book that wasn't even hers ).
8. Will's reaction to when em told him about the coffee can and Damon's mom
I really wanted to know how will would react when he find out that emmy saved all these things and how they meant the world to her. And specifically how ther were just under the gazebo he burnt.😅. Just there away from him. Its a short distance.
I also wanted to knew what exactly happened that devil's night and did he or did he not put damon down. Did he freak out?
9. Way less of Alex and Aydin
It was a book of WILL GRAYSON and EMORY SCOTT then why was i reading about another couple who didn't even matter.
I am still bitter about how badly alex treated emory and how rude she was to her without knowing anything. And how both AA had more page space in present timeline than will and em themselves.
Because we all know how AMAZING, AWESOME and SUPERB past will and emory were they were everything, they were chef's kiss. So imagine how awesome they would have been if AA weren't there because now they both confessed their feelings and their is no martin( we were robbed big time).
10. Will's and emory's accomplishments
It wasn't mentioned but i know, i just know that will grayson was homecoming king and emory scott was the valedictorian and she even passed college with achievements.
This girl spent every minute of her wake hours for either school, gazebo or her grandma so yeah.
11. An apology
Emory deserved an apology from kai, Michael, ALEX and will also because they all every single one of them treated her as if she wasn't even a human. And i hated what kai said to her. Alex was rude and wanted to hit her( an abuse victim seriously), Alex was mean and kind of bitchy for no reason at all. Will did her wrong as well but i dont want to elaborate on this.
Soo yeah SHE DESERVED AN APOLOGY.
12. Emory and Will talking
Inwas waiting for will and Emory to talk to each other specially about Emory's abuse and Will's trauma. These two suffered the most and only had each other and they only showed their true selves to them only and yet They didn't talk! But yes tell us Rika's wedding dress color and how is it relevant.
13. Emory's parents
Why does the only thing we know about Emmy's parents is how they died? We should know a little more about them, where is their grave, how were they with emmy, their sweet moments together, them celebrating Emmy's birthday, playing with her in the park.
14. Will's emotion on his arrest day
We got to see everyone's pov when they git arrest but not will. He is the most ignored PD male at this point.

-I love you...
Nanami Kento X reader
MASTER LIST ; Taglist Form
Pilot! Kento, Rich!fiance kento They are engaged warnings: NONE, MIND FUCKING FLUFF
Tumblr media
Kento Nanami did not sign up for this.
That is what he would have said if he didn’t love you. But he did, he loved you so much, to the point that he’ll handle all of your family dinners for the rest of your lives together.
That was where you two were now, at a family dinner, with all of your family. And he had expected about 8-10 people but what he was met with was a reserved restaurant, with tables connected to create 2 big ones, that can fit over 50 people, which was just enough.
Nanami knew that you were family-oriented, that was one of the things that he adored about you, but now, that everyone was in the same room, it was kind of overwhelming for him and kind of pressuring.
“So when are you two planning on getting married?”
“Where are you gonna get married?”
“Well, we’re planning on getting married in the church downtown. And we planned on getting married by July” his fiance responded, it felt like all of the words inside had gone out, now that all of the attention was pinned to the two of you, along with the noise of children laughing and overlapping conversation, it didn’t help his nerves at all.
“Ohh, a summer wedding, that's good”
“So Nanami, do you have any siblings?”
“I was an only child and my parents had me late, I was often mistaken as their grandchild”
“Yeah, and they’re the same age as aunt Kendra”
“Oh! How fascinating, and I heard that your family owns an airline?”
“Yes, Nami-airlines, I’m one of the pilots there too”
“A pilot? OH how wonderful, you’ve caught a good one Y/N” said her aunt who winked at Y/N, Kento observed his fiance’s reaction, and she grimaced, she seemed uncomfortable but didn’t show it.  He took note to ask her about it later.
“Oh ray you should ask him about that, you talked to me about pursuing aviation after your course right?” She said, changing the subject.
“You want to take aviation?” Kento asked his fiance’s brother
“Yeah, I was planning on…..
We got in the car, and after saying goodbye to everyone, we drove away and made our way to our shared apartment.
“I noticed you earlier when your aunt said that you caught a good one, Did it bother you?”
You knew that he was gonna ask this, but you made it too obvious for him to notice the shift in your mood, he had always noticed, never missed the signs, not even once.
“I just didn’t want people to think that I was only marrying you for your money” kento had already known about this and had heard of the stories that when you were a teenager, you had told people that you were only gonna marry someone rich so that it helps you cope with the thought of ACTUALLY marrying someone of getting tied down to someone. Y/N was and has always been independent, she didn’t get homesick when she moved out at 18 for college, and for as long as she can remember It wasn’t her plan to get married, not now, not ever, but that changed when you met Kento. You swore to yourself that he was the only exception. But getting accused of just marrying him for money always bothered you, Sure you loved it when he surprise you with a trip to Hawaii or other exotic countries you had never imagined going to.
But you also appreciated it when he was there physically and mentally.
You had known that he was the one you wanted to spend the rest of your life with, him filling out the blanks of your childhood, to find someone to help you cope with having a physically absent father and a mentally absent mother wasn’t something that you could find from just anyone, and you've tried. But it seemed that Y/N had already found that person. And whenever Y/N heard people commenting about her being a gold digger always bothered her, and she had never asked Nanami for anything extreme, he was the one who was always giving, to the point that Y/N felt obligated to give back, but he always assured her that her staying – despite the accusations– was enough.
Y/N – who came from a middle-class family– is marrying a rich guy whose family owns an airline and who is a pilot himself– She knew how it would look, but she didn’t care– and for someone who had sought validation from others all her life, was hard to do.
“Who cares what they think? I love you, and that’s all that matters” he kissed the back of her hand as she looked at him, searching for doubt, she was an overthinker kento knew that, so he swore to himself to always assure you every time that your mind goes in a spiral.
“I love you too” as they stopped in front of a red light, Y/n leaned in and kissed her fiance's face
-end

light on
The one where Y/N is the daughter of a legendary Team USA coach and used to attend the development program with the boys. 8 years after they last saw each other in person, a reunion brings Jack and Y/N back into each other’s lives... and hearts.

“What?”
“I’m getting married!”
A huge grin grew on Y/N's face. She stood up immediately, tackling River and hugging him tightly.
“Oh my god! Are you serious?”
“Yeah!” her older brother nodded.
Pulling him to her chest again, the doctor refused to let go for a little longer.
“I’m so happy for you! Congratulations! This is amazing!” she gushed, completely losing her cool.
“I know, I can’t believe it either but… Would you mind easing up on the hug? I don’t need to be nursing a broken rib when I walk down the aisle.”
Y/N released River, her eyebrow raising.
“Wait… The wedding’s in two weeks? How on Earth did you manage to pull that off?”
“I might have been secretly planning it since Christmas…” her brother disclosed, looking down at her feet coyly.
“What?” Y/N all but screeched, her eyes now looking like saucers. “You’ve been engaged since Christmas and you didn’t think to tell me about it?”
“Technically, I’ve been engaged since my birthday, but kind of procrastinated ninety-nine percent of the planning till around Christmas…”
“Why am I only being informed now?” she insisted, placing her small hands on her hips, a stern look on her face, as if she were talking to one of her subordinates.
“We wanted to organize everything before telling anyone about it. Plus, if people only knew we were getting married two weeks prior to the deed, there’d be less of a chance of someone blabbing to the wrong person and it ending up on the internet. You know how people love to gossip about Coach Y/L/N's family.”
“What if I had things planned for that day already?”
“Please, you mostly stay home alone painting and watching paranormal documentaries when Joey's at her father’s.” River quickly dismissed that possibility.
Y/N gasped in mock outrage, earning a pointed look from her brother.
“Fair enough…” she shrugged. He knew her too well.
“Okay, so now that you’re on board: David's mom insisted we had to get married on a Sunday because I am enough of a sinner already living with the man and all that, but I wanted to have a grandiose weekend, so we booked the main cabin for our closest friends to stay here. Starts Friday night and ends at dawn on Monday.”
“Right, and who are these friends?”
“You and some others. Mom and dad, David's parents, family and other guests will only be here for the actual day. Don’t worry, I’m inviting loverboy as well.” the eldest sibling winked, starting to head back to the trail.
Y/N scoffed, patting her sweaty forehead dry with her tank top.
“Do I know any other people?”
“The boys will be there, don't worry. Apart from them, I’m only inviting a few of my childhood friends, co-workers and immediate family. Keeping it low-key.”
“Knowing you, it’ll be the most over-the-top thing I’ll ever see in my life, but sure… I still can’t believe you waited until now to let me know you were getting married!”
“I’ve still got something to tell you…”
“Are you adopting?”
“No, god, no.”
“Are you that opposed to having children?”
“No, no. I mean, I want to, just not planning for them right now… I don’t feel the need to rush into anything...”
“Then what is it, Riv?”
“You’re going to be by my side at the altar.”
“You mean…”
“I want you to be my maid of honor.”
“Oh my god!” Y/N squealed, squeezing the life out of her brother. “I’d be honored, River!”
The pair hugged for a few seconds, laughing at how ridiculous they both looked with tears in their eyes, threatening to fall at any moment. During their walk back, the duo reminisced on their childhood and the long winding road that led them to that precise moment, to that exact location.
“One last thing…” her brother began, climbing into his car.
“Lord have mercy…”
“You have throw me a bachelor party. By the end of the day all guests will have been informed about the wedding, so I’ll text you the names and numbers of the people I want to have there. Oh, and it has to be next Friday.”
“Are you sure you want me to set up your bachelor party or do you plan on doing it all yourself?” the doctor chuckled.
“You know I’m a control freak, I can’t help it.”
“Relax.” Y/N patted his leg. “I got you.”
*
“So now you’re in charge of planning her last hurrah?” Jack inquired, holding his phone to his ear with the help of his shoulder, putting the lasagna he was making in the oven.
“Yep.” Y/N confirmed, popping the ‘p’. “I just have a tiny problem with that: I have no idea how I’m going to do it. I mean, my idea of fun on a Friday night is staying in playing board games and watching scary movies or those really corny, completely unrealistic romcoms.”
The brunette man smiled at the mention of her calm evening plans, walking away from the kitchen and turning on the TV in his living room, zapping through the thousands of useless channels he paid for mostly for his friends’ enjoyment other than his.
“Oh sweet, innocent Y/N Y/L/N… There’s so much to do in New York on a Friday night… Bachelor parties practically plan themselves.”
“Easy for you to say, Mr. Superstar.” she quipped, biting hard on her bottom lip as she tried to hold up the mattress with just one hand to change the sheets on her bed. “I don’t really like crowded places, but I’ll make the sacrifice for River.”
“That’s very noble of you.” the Devils' player teased. “Hold on, Trev is here.” he said when he heard the doorbell ring.
Jack opened the door, signaling for Trevor to come in, stepping aside.
“I’m just going to finish my call, I’ll be right back.” he told his friend, entering the kitchen. “Hey, I’m back.”
“As I was saying, I’m completely out of ideas. I considered karaoke, but it’s such a typical thing for me to suggest.”
The Devils' player was mindlessly going through his unopened mail while she was speaking, randomly finding a flyer that caught his attention.
“What about a concert?”
“A concert?”
“Apparently, The Bucks are performing Friday at MSG.”
“Yes! That’s perfect!” Y/N jabbered, ecstatic. River was obsessed with one of the band members back in the day.”
“Yeah?” the brunette man asked, drinking from his beer bottle.
“Yeah! Oh Gretz, if only you knew how much I love you right now!” she raved, speed-walking to her desk to check the availability of tickets.
Jack choked on his drink, coughing uncontrollably, making Trevor run to his rescue.
“Do you need me to do the Heimlich? Dude, I know it would technically involve me practically grinding against your ass, but your mom would kill me if I let you die and we’re bros, it doesn’t matter, okay?” he babbled, closing the distance between them. “It’ll be okay, hold on!”
“Z.” the hockey player said in between coughs. “I’m fine, it was just beer.”
“Oh, thank god. You know I was prepared to do it though, right?”
“I do, thanks man.”
“Alright, I’ll leave you to it. Just bring me food when you’re done, please. I’m starving.”
“Jack?” Y/N called from the other side of the line. “Are you okay?”
“Sorry, yeah. I’m here. So, what are you guys doing after the show?”
“Wait, we’re supposed to go out after the concert?” she panicked.
“It’s a bachelor party, Y/N. It’s heavily implied.”
“Fuck… Precisely the reason why I was probably better off without one… I’ll figure it out later. Let me know if you got any suggestions, though.”
“I will. Have a good day, Mess.”
“You too, babe.”
Jack hung up the phone, clearing his throat one more time. He couldn’t believe he had reacted the way he did to her words. They weren’t supposed to make him feel the way he did. He wasn’t supposed to picture what it would be like hearing them in another context. What the hell was going on with him?
“Talking to Y/N again, I see…” Trevor smirked, leaning against the doorframe.
“Friends usually tak to each other, right?” he grumbled, trying to play it cool, checking on the lasagna.
“Sure… What’s up with our lovely friend?”
“She’s in charge of planning River's bachelor party and I suggested she’d buy tickets for a concert.”
“Who’s performing?” his friend inquired, coming closer to him, attracted by the smell of food.
“The Bucks.” he shrugged.
“The Bucks? Oh, dude, we’ve got to go!” Trevor hooted, slapping Jack's arm enthusiastically.
“Didn’t know you were a fan.”
“Are you kidding me? Why do you think I tried growing my hair out back in middle school? I wanted to be a part of the band so bad. I used to have a huge poster of them looking down on my bed. All the action they witnessed…”
“You mean the action between you and your hand?”
“Just get the fucking tickets, Hughes. We’re going.”
*
“Wear the shorts, Y/N.” River sighed, giving her a stern look and motioning to the pair of golden high-waisted shorts she was holding up. “It’s my party, I define the dress code.”
“I’m going to freeze my ass off.” Y/N countered, tightening the silk robe against her body.
“What are you talking about? It’s June!”
“Fine! I’ll wear the damn shorts.” she grumbled, taking the garment from her brother's hands and reluctantly putting them on.
The hotel suite was hectic: ten people, including a very frantic River running around getting ready for a certainly memorable night out, talking to each other over the loud music one of River's college friends was adamant on blasting.
The soft curls she had managed to create on her heavy, strong hair, were framing her face perfectly, her only care now being what outfit her brother would be imposing on her. Y/N knew she could protest all she wanted, but she’d eventually give into River's wishes.
“Now, the black spaghetti strap top and… The pièce de resistance… The blazer to go with the shorts! I know you have never worn this purely out of spite, but –“
“It’s not out of spite, Riv. It just makes me look like a gold bar!”
“Precisely. It makes you look like a million dollars.” one of River's friends said from behind her. “You look hot, momma!” he added, winking at her.
“Yeah, yeah…” the young woman waved them off playfully. “Let’s just get this over with.” she chuckled, picking up a flute from the table and joining the rest of the group in toasting the groom-to-be. “To River Y/L/N, our favorite Groomzilla...”
“Watch it!” her brother cautioned, laughter erupting around the room.
“I hope you enjoy your last night of freedom…” the doctor winked. “Cheers!”
The group raised their glasses and downed the sparkly champagne before heading out.
“Ready or not, here we come.” she whispered to herself as she linked her arm with River's.
 *
“Dude, I’m literally so pumped right now! Feel my heartbeat, feel it!” Trevor shrieked.
Jack chuckled to himself, adjusting his cap before burying his hands in his pockets.
“I only came along so I could give you moral support when what’s-his-face fails yet again to acknowledge your existence. I really couldn’t care less about the band.”
“Well, that’s an extremely disrespectful way of referring yourself to one of the greatest American bands to ever grace the Earth, rock royalty if you must say, but okay.” his friend sneered, genuinely offended by his comment.
“Let’s just get inside and make the most out of the ungodly amount of money we paid for the VIP seats someone insisted we’d buy.” he declared, glaring at the curly-haired man beside him.
“Best seats in the house, you’re very welcome.”
The duo went through security calmly, stopping a few times on the way to their section to take pictures with people who recognized them, even though Jack kept his eyes down and the dad hat was buried in his head.
Their seats did have the best view, but he would never willingly admit that to his overly excited friend.
Seeds were the opening act. Trevor dramatically sang along to Poppy, the last song on their setlist, turning to Jack, who laughed loudly, covering his face with his large hands in an attempt to diminish the secondhand embarrassment he was feeling.
He looked around, smiling at how much everyone seemed to be having an amazing time.
The Bucks came on stage next, a shrilling sound next to him making him turn his attention back to his friend. Trevor jumped up and down, psyching himself up.
“Fuck, Z! You nearly made my eardrums pop!” the Devils' player scolded, like an annoyed father.
“Zip it, they’re playing Burnin’ Up!”
Jack sighed, asking himself why he had let his friend drag him to Madison Square Garden when he could have stayed at home, catching up on his favorite sitcom. He shifted on his feet, once again skimming through the large venue, his eyes setting on a particular person coming his way.
“Well if it isn’t the two… Stooges!” Rover cheered, a bottle of expensive champagne in her his and a grin on his face.
He rushed to him, giving him a warm hug and moving to Trevor by his side.
Jack waved to the rest of the party accompanying his former coach's eldest chile, his smile dropping slightly when he noticed Y/N wasn’t among them. The brunette man was too withdrawn in his thoughts to see she had approached the small group in the meantime, holding a large container filled to the brim with warm popcorn.
“Hey what did I m – Jack!”
He looked her up and down, his jaw nearly dropping at the sight of her outfit. The way the sparkly blazer subtly showed off her full breasts and her shorts let him get lost in the amazing pair of legs she had nearly made his knees buckle.
The Devils' player didn’t think she could look even better than the last time he had seen her, but apparently, subconsciously, her favorite thing to do was prove him wrong. Y/N's beauty continued to render him speechless.
“H-Hi!” he managed to stammer, leaning in for the usual kiss on the cheek, but being pulled in for a hug afterwards.
“What are you guys doing here?” she inquired.
“Z is a huge fan, didn’t you know?” Jack snickered, nodding towards their mutual friend.
Y/N averted her eyes to his side, where Trevor was chugging down the champagne River had offered him, while simultaneously performing his very own choreography od the song playing as it reached its final chorus.
“For you, baby!” the blond man shouted triumphantly.
“Well, can’t say that’s the strangest thing I’ve seen tonight.” the doctor confessed.
“I’m guessing the champagne isn’t helping?” Jack suggested, a teasing smile on his lips.
“That and the ten jello shots they just had to drink. It’s like dealing with nine drunk toddlers.” she snorted, seeing Trevor and River take turns at doing the robot dance, now to the sound of another song. “Popcorn?”
His sweet tooth had always been his Achilles heel.
“Thanks” he smiled, taking a handful of the sugary snack from the carton, watching the show their friends were putting on instead of the actual concert.
The grom-to-be waddled her way to the pair, grabbing Y/N by the waist, the bottle he earlier held no longer in her grasp.
“Y/N! Little sister! I just had a fantastic idea!” he chirped, a toothy grin adorning his doll-like features.
“Yeah?”
“They should totally come with us!” her older brothee screamed in her ear, pointing at the duo in front of them.
“I think we’ve got enough madness going on already.” she tried to dissuade him, nodding towards their group.
“Please?” River pouted, his pleading green eyes boring into hers.
Y/N pinched the bridge of her nose, thinking about the potential havoc that would be wrecked if they decided to add the dynamic duo to their entourage. At least Jack would be there to help her handle them all.
“Alright, they can come.” she consented, knowing full-well she’s too much of a softie to deny her brother anything. “But you better not get too rowdy!”
“You’re the best!” River chanted, smooching her forehead.
“Oh boy…” the doctor yelped, earning an amused chuckle from the man beside her. “You think this is funny, do you? It might be hilarious for now, but you do realize you’re stuck with me tonight, don’t you?”
“I think I can handle having you around for the night.” he winked, amazed at how smooth he suddenly sounded.
She stuck her tongue out in response, gathering around the bachelor party entourage, plus the two new additions, so they could leave the venue.
“But it’s not over yet, Junior!” River moaned.
“We have a commitment on the other side of town if I recall correctly, and we won’t make it on time if we stay until the concert is over. Bear with me.” Y/N all but begged while leading her brother outside, to the rented party bus he had insisted was a must-have.
Jack followed the pair, accompanied by Trevor, who couldn’t hold in his excitement over crashing a bachelor party.
The doctor had given the driver their itinerary in advance, leaving the two men completely clueless about their destination.
Getting off the large bus, the loud group of partygoers found themselves right in front of Rage, a well-known club in the Upper West Side.
“Shit, I love this place!” Trevor exclaimed, wrapping an arm around River and going inside.
“Now we’re talking!” Evan hooted, following them.
He stood outside, incredulous. He couldn’t actually believe the Universe had brought him to that place. And with Y/N, of all people.
“Are you coming?” he heard her ask as she came back outside with the sole purpose of finding him. “You have to. You know I can’t carry River and Trevor if it comes to it.”
“I am a mere babysitter to you, hu?” Jack feigned hurt, clutching his hands to his chest and moving to where she stood waiting.
“Well…” the doctor teased, grabbing his hand and lacing her fingers with his swiftly. “Come on, we have seats right next to the stage.”
It didn’t take him long to notice how her hand fit perfectly in his, and how warm it had turned upon the touch of her skin. Jack happily let her guide him through the Friday night crowd until they reached their table.
“Get ready to be amazed.” she shouted over the loud music, cheering as the performers walked by, one of them barely moving past them before turning on his heels and coming back.
“Jack!” the blonde queen gasped, pulling him up and hugging him to her chest. “Guys!” he called out, making the rest of the performers stop and look their way. “Jack is back!”
“Rowdy!” they all howled in unison.
The brunette man's cheeks flushed a deep shade of red as the entire entourage, except for Trevor, looked at him with quizzical expressions on their faces.
“Hey, guys! Nice to be back!” he flashed them a wide grin.
“We were starting to think you had ditched us for Maxim’s.”
“I would never.” he assured them, patting the bleach blonde in the back.
“Well, honey, aren’t you going to introduce me to your friends?”
“Yeah, of course! This is Y/N. You know Trevor… We’re on a bachelor party… And the groom-to-be - ”
“River Y/L/N! I’m such a huge fan! Your last collection was to die for!” the beautiful queen jested, fanning herself.
“Thank you!” Y/N's brother chirped, giving him a side hug. “I had been dying to watch your performance live!”
“I’m so happy you came, babe!” he smiled sweetly. “Oh, look at the time! Lovely to see you, Rowdy, but the show is about to start, so you know I better get my ass ready. Have fun, bachelors!” the former RuPaul's Drag Race contestant said, hurrying to get backstage.
Y/N was staring at Jack, utterly confused.
“I thought the Dreamgirls show was on Mondays.” he commented, sitting back down at their table.
“River called in a few favors.” she answered automatically, still stunned, shaking her head to snap out of it. “Are you a regular?”
The Devils' player took a deep breath, glaring at Trevor for laughing at her assumption.
“Luke, Alex and this goof held my twenty-seventh birthday party here. I had a bit too much to drink and invaded the stage.” he explained.
“You didn’t…”
“Oh, yes… I did. I performed. It was so good they made me an honorary member.”
“It wasn’t half as good as he thinks it was.” their blond friend smirked. “He was just too drunk to actually remember how it all went down.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Chad said I was drag queen material.” Jack huffed.
“Yeah, keep telling yourself it wasn’t out of pity for a drunk guy who interrupted his number.”
“Anyway, ever since that fateful night, we’ve been coming here for my birthday and other random celebrations and getting drunk with the queens after the show.”
“You guys are the weirdest group of grown men I’ve ever met.” Y/N chuckled, after blinking a couple of times. “And I don’t even mean it in a bad way!”
The doctor propped her elbow on his shoulder, picturing Jack singing and dancing along to show tunes, eighty’s songs and diva hits. It was a difficult idea to grasp, since he had always been so shy around her and she could only get him to let go of his inhibitions with a lot of persistence.
“I think it’s pretty cool how you have fun without worrying about what people might say. I’m just letting you know you’ll be up for karaoke with me the next time we go out.” she stated. “And that I resent not having been invited to your last two parties. They sound like they were epic.” the coach's daughter joked.
“You’re officially invited to my next one, then.”
“Deal.” Y/N shook the hand he held out for her, as the resident DJ announced Chad Michaels' entrance. “Oh my god, is that Cher?”
“He's good, isn’t he?” Jack smirked, whistling loudly as he leaned back on his chair.
“Extraordinary!”
The renowned Cher impersonator dance around the stage, singing the first verses of Believe before waltzing his way to their table, pointing directly at the Devils' player.
“No, not tonight.” he refused politely.
“Come on, show us what you’ve got! Rowdy! Rowdy! Rowdy!” the doctor chanted, making everyone else join her.
He held his hands up in the air in defeat, standing up and taking off his cap, handing it to Y/N, who promptly set it over her slightly disheveled hair, instantly hearing a round of applause as he took the stage.
It’s so sad that you’re leaving, it takes time to believe it. But after all is said and done, you’re going to be the lonely one, woah! Do you believe in life after love?
Y/N watched her former linemate dance around on stage, proud of the man he had grown-up to be. He didn’t make a move to deny the fun he had and the nights he had spent at a club where the patrons seemed to love him. He didn’t try to belittle the performers to assert his own masculinity and wicked sense of superiority like most of the men she had ever met would have. He was simply, unapologetically, having the time of his life.
Besides, he looked extremely handsome while doing it. His t-shirt showed off his biceps, the fabric clinging to his perfectly toned back and chest. Realizing where her thoughts were headed, the doctor forced herself to come back to reality, grinning and bobbing her head to the beat of a song from a faraway land.
Jack noticed her cheerfulness, holding his hand out for her to climb on stage. She gladly took it, joining the two experienced individuals, lip-syncing to the old hit. He twirled her around, never loosening his grip on her small hand or losing the adorable smile on his face and she found herself giggling. For the first time in a while she felt carefree, as light as a feather.
“I think I might let you keep my hat.” he said into her ear.
“Really?”
“Yeah. It looks better on you than it does on me anyway…”
Y/N scrunched up her nose the way she always did when she was flustered, beaming at him adoringly as he spun her around one last time.
“You know, this is pretty amazing. You’re pretty amazing.” she admitted, partly to herself.
I need time to move on, I need love to feel strong.
“Mess, listen, I…”
-
Did I completely make up band names and a club called Rage and another one called Maxim's? Yes.

We Swear It’s Not Real, Part 2
***
“So, when are you two going to take the next step?” Mandy asked, insinuating herself between Kensi and Deeks. From her slightly lopsided smile, he thought she’d enjoyed the wine tasting. Turning to Deeks with a conspiratorial smile, she leaned closer. “I bet you already have a ring and spot picked out, don’t you Marty.”
“Beg your pardon?” Deeks asked at the same time Kensi nervously said,
“Mandy, you know we’re taking things slowly.” Taking Deeks’ arm, her hand tightened around his, flexing quickly several times. They’d decided that if anyone inquired about their future as a couple, they would redirect and lie through their teeth.
They just hadn’t allowed for a drunken Mandy’s persistence.
“Oh yeah, I’ve heard that same speech from both of you.” She affected a higher-pitched, sing-song voice, ‘We want to enjoy our time together without any pressure.’ ‘We only just found each other.’ ‘We don’t want to kill the romance.’” Mandy rolled her eyes. “You two are perfect together and one of you needs to make a move so I can start planning the wedding. Which means you need to get on it mister.” She poked Deeks in the chest.
“Mandy, enough!” Kensi snapped. “We’re not like other couples, so stop pushing for some fairytale that doesn’t exist.”
Mandy’s eyes widened, a bit of her alcohol induced giddiness disappearing in the face of Kensi’s anger.
“Geez Kay, I was mostly joking. You’ve always talked about your perfect wedding all these years. I thought you’d be happy.”
“Well, not everyone gets a perfect ending,” Kensi said, pulling her arm out of Deeks’.
“Kens—” he protested softly, as she stood up, gathering up the length of her blue skirt.
“I need a couple minutes.” Then before either of them could stop her, she hurried off towards the small vineyard gift shop.
“I’m such an idiot,” Mandy sighed, cupping her hands over her mouth. “I’m sorry. I really didn’t think I was going to upset her that much.”
“It’s ok,” Deeks assured with a forgiving smile. “It’s kind of a touchy subject. But, uh, if I ever do propose, I do have the perfect place in mind.”
Lifting her head slowly, Mandy grinned back at him. “I knew you wouldn’t let me down.”
***
When Kensi came back about 20 minutes later, she was noticeably subdued, and faked her way through the rest of the event.
“Well, that was a disaster,” she sighed on their way back home. She’d kicked off her heels and roughly yanked the hairpins out keeping her hair in place.
“Eh, I thought the Riesling wasn’t bad,” Deeks joked. “Tiffani definitely approved.” Kensi gave him a knowing look.
“I freaked out for no reason. I let Mandy get to me, even though I knew she, or one of the other girls would pressure me about it at some point.”
“So why did you?”
“I don’t know,” Kensi said to his surprise. “I guess…I’ve been thinking about how different my life is from Kat’s and Mandy’s, any of my friends. I’m probably not going to get engaged, or invite all my friends to bachelor party, or marry—that’s just not my life.”
“Who knows, maybe I will propose to you someday,” Deeks said, probably getting way too close to the line of truthfulness for his own good.
Tilting her head to the side, Kensi reached for his hand on the steering wheel, smiling sadly. “I wouldn’t do that to you, Deeks.” She squeezed his hand once before letting go, and settling back with a wistful expression.
***
“Just a couple more weeks, and you’ll be a free man,” Kensi commented one night as they painstakingly glued tiny bits of lace to roughly a thousand centerpieces.
“Yeah, seems like it was just yesterday that the Tiffanys were jumping up in down in excitement at Kensi One-Date Blye finally having a boyfriend,” Deeks said after a moment.
The weeks flew had flown by with increasing speed, and before Deeks knew it, they’d hit the month of Kat’s wedding. With that, Deeks felt an increasing sense of panic with the knowledge that his and Kensi’s charade would be over once the reception ended.
And he didn’t want it to. Well, that wasn’t true; he didn’t want to pretend anymore. He wanted to be with Kensi, and he was pretty sure she felt similarly.
Since the disastrous wine tasting, her kisses were less perfunctory, and she found reasons to keep him hanging around longer each night. The day she’d insisted she needed help organizing her dishes was probably his favorite.
Every time he even hinted at there being something more, Kensi brushed him off with some self-deprecating comment about her inability to keep a houseplant alive. She wasn’t suited for a relationship, she insisted.
“I bet you can’t wait,” Kensi continued, pausing expectantly. Deeks hesitated, licking his lips as a touch of nerves set in.
“About that.” He drew a breath through his teeth, wondering if he was about to make the worst decision of his life. “You know how we said if either of us ever found someone that we liked, we’d stop doing this. Fake dating?” he asked. Kensi stilled, her face going carefully blank.
“Yes,” she said. “Did—did you find someone like that?”
“I did. I wanted to tell you sooner, but uh, I didn’t want to back out on our deal.”
“Oh.” The devastation on her face made him almost stop right then and there and tug her into his arms. Shrugging a little helplessly, Kensi offered a weak smile. “What’s she like?”
“She’s utterly ridiculous. In the best way possibly,” Deeks replied, not having to pretend for once. “She’s a brunette, with the most amazing smile in the world, and a terrible sense of humor.”
He saw genuine hurt flash across Kensi’s face, and decided he’d gone far enough.
“Wow, that’s really amazing Deeks. I’m so happy for you,” she said, sounding devastated.
“Yeah. I forgot to mention that she’s got these crazy eyes too. Different colors and everything.” He paused, fiddling with a bit of lace as Kensi froze, tilting her head.
“Deeks,” she whispered, a note of question in her voice. He couldn’t contain his smile.
“And she’s currently sitting in front of me,” he finished softly. Kensi gaped at him for a moment, then she launched herself at him, knocking him to the floor, her lips slanting over his. He leaned up into the kiss, tangling his fingers into her hair.
“You are so mean,” Kensi murmured, punctuating each word with a kiss.
“Desperate times call for desperate measures.” He drew back, brushing a strand of hair out of her eyes, and looked up at her. “Kensi Blye, will you go out with me?”
Kensi cupped his cheek, arching up to kiss him again. “Yes. More than anything.”
“To never be free again,” he said as Kensi drew him back down, rolling them into the long forgotten centerpieces.

A/N: I think I might be watching too much sappy romance stuff. Sorry if this feel a little flat at the end.

Doing it the right way (Lindsey Horan x reader)
Tumblr media
This is part two of the ‘Wedding invitation’ story. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly suggest you do.
Lindsey pov
“Has everyone answered yet?” Tyler asked me, seeing that I was looking at the confirmation replies of our wedding. “Not everyone yet.” “Who is missing? Anyone important?” “Y/n.” “Y/n? Really? Is she traveling or something? Maybe she just forgot about replying. But we already know she is coming, she is your best friend after all.” He hugged me from behind. “I don’t know. I thought she was here in Portland.” “Come on babe, don’t worry about it. It’s Y/n, she will never miss your dream day.” My dream day? “Yeah. Hope you’re right. Wouldn’t you meet a friend of yours for lunch?” I asked him. “Getting rid of me that easily? Okay, bye bossy.” “Babe, I already told you to not call me like that.” “Why? Is your nickname.” He smirks at me grabbing his car keys. “It’s Y/n’s nickname for me. Not everyones.” “Oh, okay. Bye babe. Love you.” “Bye.”
I waited for Tyler to leave and then sighed, putting away the computer from my lap and putting my hands on my face. What Tyler doesn’t know is that it's been a while since I last talked with Y/n, like really talk, for more than a one word response from her. It’s been a few months since she started to talk less and less with me, and it’s killing me inside.
Three months ago Tyler asked me to marry him. It was a beautiful day. We were traveling, so he woke me up with breakfast in our room. He then took me scuba diving, but didn’t actually dive with me, because he was too scared. We had lunch on the beach. And later we went hiking, something he never does. While there we met a spot full of roses and my family and his parents were there. He then got on one knee and asked me to marry him. I couldn’t say ‘no’.
A decision that I am questioning till today.
Thinking about it my mind started going crazy and I needed someone to help me out, so I called Sonnett. “Hey Linds. Whats up?” “I need you. Can you come here now?” “On my way.” I think my voice sounded more desperate than I imagined, because not long after Sonnett was already at my door.
“What happened? Did she reply?” Sonnet was the only one that knew about my feelings about Y/n and knew the message I wrote for her on her invitation. I shook my head and started crying. She just hugged me.
Flashback on
“So, why did my newly engaged best friend need my beloved presence the morning after her engagement party? Isn’t she supposed to be in bed with her fiance?” Sonnet came hugging me, when I got for breakfast. Yesterday, Tyler and I held a small engagement party for close friends so we could tell them the news. It’s been a week since he proposed, so I got some time to think about it.
“I need help.” I said that with my eyes filled with water. Sonnet got serious and grabbed my hand, taking me away from everyone. “Okay, let’s go somewhere more private so no one could bother us.”
We found a spot in a park near the restaurant we went to, which was empty and we sat there. “Okay, so what happened?” “I think I made a mistake.” “You will have to be more specific.” “I think I love Y/n.” “What?” “No, I don’t think. I know I love her.” “Okay, but you just got engaged.” “I know, that was the mistake.” “Linds… Why are you saying this now?”
I sighed, this is a long story… “I like Tyler, I really do. But I don’t think I ever loved him. And I started realizing that a month before he proposed, because Y/n started getting distant from me. We weren’t talking so much anymore, and when we did she only gave me short answers. And then she traveled for work and so did Tyler, and I realized I hadn’t even cared about him being gone. But I was counting the days so I could see her again. But then he proposed to me and my family and his family were there, and I couldn’t say no after everything he planned. So I accepted.”
“Linds, you shouldn’t…” “Wait, let me finish.” Sonnet only nodded, waiting for me to finish, so I kept talking.
“And the proposal was beautiful, he did almost everything I love, so I started thinking that it was just something inside my head, that he actually knew me very well and I couldn’t just throw what we have away. Of course some parts of it I didn’t love, like he brought pancakes for breakfast, I prefer waffles. We went scuba diving, but he didn’t even go with me. And despite the hundreds of flowers he bought for it, they were roses and I’m not very fond of them. I love tulips. But the important part was that he remembered that I love breakfast in bed, because I don’t like waking up early. That I love hiking, and that I have always dreamt of going scuba diving. So it was perfect.”
I looked at Sonnett and she was looking at me with a confused face. “But a few days after the proposal, he told me that he had other things planned. He would wake me up to go see the sunrise and then he would take me to a garden nearby and propose to me. And I know it is also beautiful but…” “It’s not you.” Sonnett complimented, and I shook my head. “and he also told me that he talked to Y/n a few weeks before that trip he made and asked for her help, so she was the one to help him plan and suggest everything, and the only parts that he changed were the parts I didn’t like. So what I started thinking was, she knows me better than anyone, she knows me better then him. And that incomplete feeling that I was feeling was because, after everything, I realized that the proposal was incredible, but it wasn’t perfect because the moment I looked back at him it wasn’t him I wanted to see getting on one knee it was her.”
I had my hands on my head and didn’t know what to do. After a few minutes of silence Sonnett spoke up. “Honestly Linds, I’m not surprised at all by what you’re telling me. I always knew you and Y/n have feelings for each other, you were the only ones who couldn’t see it. What I didn’t get is. Why are you still engaged? Why are you doing this if you’re not happy?”
Flashback off
I know this was a bad idea, but I didn’t want to break up with him in case Y/n didn’t love me back. So I decided to write a message on her invitation and see if she would respond. “She didn’t even respond to the invitation. What if she isn’t coming?” “Do you want her to come?” “What do you mean? Of course I want her.” “But if she comes, it means it will have a wedding and you won’t have her.”
Oh God, what am I doing?
“I’m gonna be honest with you Linds. I told you from the beginning, this was a bad idea. If you wanted to see if she would respond, if she feels the same way, text her, call her, go wherever she is and talk with her. But not send her a secret message on your WEDDING INVITATION. What did you expect her to do? You know her, you know she won’t act on it, because she doesn’t want to ruin a relationship.” “But I was at least expecting a text from her. She is ghosting me Sonnett. What if I lost her for good? I can’t be happy without her.”
Y/n pov
What was she expecting me to do? She is getting married. If she wanted me to do something, she wouldn’t have told me this on her wedding invitation. She would have said no. So, I decided to ignore it. If I couldn’t see her getting married before, I don’t know If I could handle seeing her now.
It’s been a month since I received the invitation. I’ve been living my life normal after that, well as normal as I can without seeing or talking with Lindsey. I came to visit my parents in Colorado, it’s been a while since I last saw them. Today they went for lunch with some friends, so I decided to go on a walk by myself.
I was walking for a while and when I noticed I ended up in an old soccer field. I looked around and instantly recognized it. The soccer field where I used to come along with Lindsey so she could practice her shots. I sat in the middle of the field and started thinking. How have we ended up like this? The best friends, it was us against the world. Now, we are months without properly talking with each other.
“I was wondering where you could be.” I would recognize this voice anywhere. “What are you doing here?” “This is our field. I can’t be here?” “Of course you can.” She sat beside me and we stayed in silence. No one knowing what to say. “You haven’t answered my text or my calls.” “I had nothing to say.” “But I do.” I closed my eyes and sighed. “What do you want to say Linds?”
“Did you see my message on the invitation?” “I did.” “And you’re not saying anything?” “What do you want me to say? You’re getting married in three months, Linds and I don’t know what idea of love you have in your mind, but you can’t love someone and marry to another person. So, even though there are a thousand things I could say to you, I would rather not do it.” I stood up and turned around so I could leave. I couldn’t stay here anymore. But she was fast and grabbed my arm before I could leave. “Say it. Say it to me. Yelled at me, turned me down. Do anything, just say it. But don’t leave. I can’t support you ignoring me anymore.” “I was just protecting myself. I can’t talk to you right now, because everytime I look at you all I remember is that I was too late. And it breaks my heart to know that I could have had what he has but I let it slip through my fingers. So I have to leave, so I can spare the little bit of strength I still have left to move on.”
I was about to turn around and leave, when the next thing I felt was her hands on my face and her lips in mine. I wanted to stay like this forever, to save this moment to eternity. But this isn’t right. So I push her back with my eyes closed. “I can’t do this.” “But why? You said…” “I don’t do this Linds. For more that I want to, you’re in a relationship. Is not fair for anyone, not for me and especially not for him.”
“I broke up with him. I’m not in a relationship anymore.” “Linds, you were going to get married. You can’t…” “Please Y/n/n, I already know I’m not marrying him. He is a nice guy, but I don’t love him, so I can’t get married to him. It’s not because of you. But that made me realize that I want you. I love you.” “Are you serious?” “More than anything in the world.”
I looked in her eyes and could only see love. God, how much I miss those eyes. So I pulled her back and kissed her. This time with more passion, showing how much I love her.
We stayed like this for a while, until air became an issue and we pulled apart. “I love you too, in case there was any doubt.” “Good to know.” She smirked and kissed me again
“He must be devastated.” I told her after we broke the kiss again. “Can we not talk about him right now?” “Sorry. But I have to ask. If you didn’t love him, why did you say yes?” “He brought both of our families and a few friends there. I got embarrassed to say ‘no’ in front of all those people. You know how I get.” “Douchebag, I told him you wanted something private, just you and your partner.” “Yeah. That was exactly the moment I knew our relationship wasn’t gonna work. Because in every moment of that day, all I could think was how much I wish you were the person doing all those things with me.”
I kissed her one more time and said “Don’t worry. We will have a lot of time together to do it the right way.” “I hope so, now shut up and kiss me again. I’ve been wanting this for a long time.” “That I can do, my Bossy.”

✿maybe u should listen Dusk Till Dawn from Zayn and Sia. When I hear that song I think about Jay🦋
——————————————————
There you were seating on the rooftop of the restaurant you had reserved; your boyfriend Jay was finally home, and you wanted to have a nice date with him.
But, he was late, as usual. You took a sip of your wine and sighed. Sometimes you questioned if he was devoted to your relationship, you knew he loved you, but.. he proposed to you a year and a half ago and, he always postponed the wedding.
“Hey…” getting you out of your thoughts, Jay is caressing your shoulder, softly smiling at you. You smile back and he leans to kiss your cheek.
“I’ve missed you” you confess, watching his perfect suit all tailored. His black hair all combed to the left, and his bright green eyes, you felt like a teenager in love.
“I’ve missed you too, sweetheart” finally you can order your food. It’s all nice, he smiles kindly at you when the waiter leaves your table.
“You look amazing” he praises you, making you all blush. Two weeks separated, was a lot for an engaged couple, but… unfortunately, it was normal for you.
“Thanks, love. I have a lot to tell you, work was so hard last week, the kids were amazing but it was so exhausting, I thought I sent you some pictures of the event…” your work as a kid’s art school director was brilliant, you were the youngest director of the school, maybe you lacked some experience, but it was worth it.
“I saw the pictures, it looked lovely. You’re the best, dear” there’s more, details of the end-of-year festival, your new decorations on your shared apartment, the visit of your parents, but… Jay seemed to be a little lost.
“What’s on your head, Jay? You’ve been very serious” you say, slightly nervous. The man looks at you, after letting the menu completely on the table again.
“Nothing, it’s just… some work stuff” his words sound vague, he doesn’t want to talk about it, but still, he sounds like he has something else to say.
“My parents came last week. They wanted to see you, I told them we could meet next month…” you look straight at your wine, evading your boyfriend’s eye. “They want to help us with the wedding, I told them we would talk about it”
“Yeah, we can set a date next month, so when we see them, we can start planning out,” he says, eating more of his plate, and you get confused.
“Jay, we discussed the date weeks ago… Are you postponing the wedding again?” the nervousness came back, some panic too.
“I know, it’s just… I might need to fly to Korea tomorrow, and the mission could last some days. This is gonna be the biggest thing the ALF has done, I can’t fail them” you knew how important his job was for him, you knew some of his work partners, but… he never told you anything about missions, it was like if he didn’t trust you enough to share about it.
“You’re leaving for Korea in less than 24 hours? And you decide to share it now, Jay?” you question, ignoring the fact that you raised your voice. Jay sighs, drinking some of his glass of water. “This is the third time we postpone the wedding. I… can’t do this anymore”
“Love, don’t say that… I’m just leaving a maximum of five days. Then I will be here for a long period, we will get married and have the honeymoon we talked about” it’s late, he doesn’t know it yet, but it’s too late. You won’t change your mind.
“It’s not only that!. What is marriage without trust, devotion, and confidence?… nothing.” even if you’re trying to hold it back, your voice cracks and some tears are on the verge of spilling. “ At this point, I don’t even know why we started dating. This is not love…”
“I thought you would understand it. We’ve been doing fine for five years, two years ago you were still in college and it wasn’t like this…” Jay was shocked, he never thought you would react this way, you’ve always been there to support him, all those nights waiting for him, greeting him like a lovely girlfriend.
“Yeah, two years ago you didn’t used to leave every four days, you would talk to me, you would care!” you didn’t want to continue with this conversation, you wanted to pretend it never happened, Jay would say he wasn’t leaving and you would get married in a couple of weeks, but the reality was different, and you didn’t want to interrupt his work, but you didn’t want to let him go again.
“I do care, I love you!“ some desperation filled his tone, and his panic raised when he saw you crying.
“You might love me, but you prefer your job. It’s fine, I love how dedicated you are, but, don’t expect me to sit here like a doll, waiting for you, when I don’t even know where you are, with who you are. Because you never tell me anything” some seconds of silence feel eternal for Jay, he’s sweating a little, and he’s feeling awkward. He wants to wipe your tears and tell you everything is gonna be fine, but it’s not fine.
“I can’t keep waiting for you. It’s not cool to be overthinking if you’re okay or if you’re alive. Because all the time, if I discover some of your missions, it’s because of the news. I guess you don’t have a purpose in life, nothing is holding you to value your own life” you hate goodbyes, and now you’re saying goodbye to your soulmate. “Then it’s clear that I’m not in your priorities. So you don’t love me at all, Jay. I’m sorry”
Tears can’t stop falling over your face. Your hands shake when you slide off the ring from your finger, and you feel your heart break into million pieces. Jay looks petrified, and you noticed that’s another problem, he’s very bad when it comes to emotions, he doesn’t know how to share his feelings, and he rarely said romantic things to you.
“I love you so much, and I hope you take care of yourself. Good luck, Jay” you say as you stand up and grab your bag. You put the ring on the table, then you lean to leave a short kiss on his cheek, and you leave. You indicate to the waiter you’ll pay at the entrance because there was no way you could have waited at the table with your now ex-fiancé.
Being in public helped because at that moment you couldn’t cry. But you knew what was waiting for you when you had to drive to your old apartment, not the one you used to share with him.
While Jay, was about to stand up and go after you, but he would end up ruining the super pig mission. This was his biggest effort since he joined the ALF, he couldn’t risk it, he prayed everything went right, so in a couple of days he would come back to you and talk, he loved you so much. You were the only person in his life that showed him kindness and love, you were his partner, and he wouldn’t leave you alone.
-
Of course, he didn’t come back to you, he must be taking that flight to Seoul, you thought. Even though you were devastated, your apartment felt warm, and many of your things were still in your apartment with Jay, but it didn’t stop you from sleeping there.
After showering and getting into some pajamas, you allowed yourself to eat some junk food, you stopped at the market before you arrived at your home. Some coconut cake and red velvet cupcakes would work as your console for your broken heart. It worked until you turned on the tv and Flipped was playing. You loved that movie, it was about the first love, it was a sweet and sane movie. When Bryce goes and plants a tree for Juli, you were crying so hard, burying your face into your pillow.
You preferred to believe that Jay cheated on you he could also have done that since you didn’t know a lot of his activities during his long periods of absence. But it was worse if he preferred his work over you because that meant you were… nothing. At least for him, all the love you put on everything, just for him, wasn’t enough. All the things you did for him, meant nothing.
It didn’t matter, he was a human. Just as you fell in love with him, you’ll have to forget him.
Some kids greeted you as you walked in the hallway of the school. The youngest were about four years old, while the oldest were around ten years old. You said hi or flattered their work, summer break was coming, and you wouldn’t see them for two months. But, you’ll have some free time, and with the money you were saving for your failed honeymoon, you’ll fly to Rome, or Spain, or the Caribbean, wherever you could have some fun and forget about your broken heart.
You hadn’t heard anything of Jay for six days, not that you were expecting him to call you or something, but you were a little afflicted for his safety. When you get to your office, one of the secretaries; Lily, who’s also your friend, calls you.
“What’s up?” you ask calmly, looking at her. She makes a gesture for you to go and walk to her desk. When you do, she’s watching the live news.
“Isn’t that your fiancé?” she questions, as you read “ALF sabotage Mirando’s company event”. You hope Lily is mistaking someone for Jay. But unfortunately, she’s right. Jay appears on the screen, he’s on the stage of the event, and there’s this giant animal and a little girl. He seems to be talking to the girl, then the footage changes to a lot of people running and causing big trouble. That must be the super pig o whatever he barely talked to you, you think.
“I don’t know. It’s a little blurry…” none of your friends knew Jay was part of the ALF, or that you weren’t engaged anymore. You preferred to lie.
You hear the reporter saying that there were some injured people, and that they were investigating the case, that some were arrested. “This is awful,” Lily says. And even after all, no one in the news was talking about the atrocities of Mirando. It seemed like the news was focusing on making the ALF look like they were some terrorists. Even though Jay never discussed his job with you, you were aware of the historical background of Mirando’s corporation.
“There’s going to be a massive traffic today” you say, trying to soothe the tension building up in your head. Lily says something, but you feel like you’re not in the room. You tell her you have to get some calls and after entering your office, you close the door and cover your mouth from crying.
Jay must have been arrested, or he’s injured, or maybe now he’s a fugitive. You walk to the big window, where a big tree is, the day is cloudy, and you can see the heart of the city from your window, where he must be. You cry in silence, fearing for him.
You looked at your reflection in the mirror of your vanity, you didn’t know what to do yet, it was Friday, and fall was about to start, so you put some makeup and a casual dress. Maybe you just wanted to go for a cold drink, and then visit the library.
There’s a knock on your door, and it might be the boots you ordered online. With your bare feet, you go and open the door.
A little gasp goes out after you see Jay at your door. He smiles a little, nervously. He’s wearing a jacket with a grey shirt, black jeans, and elegant shoes.
“Hi…” he says. There’s a bouquet in his hand, your favorites; pink lilies. “Uhm, this are for you”
“Thank you,” you say accepting the flowers. You don’t know what to say, you haven’t seen him in months. You knew he end up in jail. And you knew it hadn’t been much time since he was out.
“I’m sorry. You must’ve heard all that happened, and you were right. I didn’t have a priority in my life.” he says with his beautiful voice. You can see he hadn’t physically changed at all. “I put all my heart into my job, instead of you. After all, I’ve been through, I can tell that… you’re the thing I love the most in my life, and I don’t want to leave you alone ever again.”
“I want to marry you. I want to be a good husband for you, I want to make you happy. I know I can do it, I just need you to forgive me…” his pleading eyes are crystallized, and it surprises you. You hold tighter the bouquet, and you don’t know what to think or say.
“I’m begging you, please fall in love with me again.” his tone sounds pleading for forgiveness. Is it bad that you like that he had to suffer a little to discover what he really wanted? because you liked that he was feeling regretful. “Please love me again”
Don’t think about it so much, just do it.
“The thing is, I already do, Jay” you say before pushing him towards you with your free hand. Then you stand on tiptoes to kiss him, and he corresponds immediately, wrapping your waist. You can feel him smile on your lips, and you do the same.
“Oh, thank you, thank you so much. I love you” he’s rushing to give you a big hug. Stroking your hair and moving you just enough to make you feel it. “We have a lot to talk but… Do you want to go and get married?”
You smile, looking at him with a little smirk. “What about our family?”
“They don’t have to know. No one will know that we were already married” you don’t know what happened with the old Jay. Who would often meditate and think about consequences, maybe all the events of the last months changed him.
“Can we go to Barnes & Noble after that?“ Jay laughs at your petition, he nods leaning to leave a little kiss on your lips. “Okay, let me get my shoes and purse”
You could have said no, wait until you had a big talk, and decide what you wanted to do with your life and his. But, you preferred to hear all of that in your bed, at night. After a celebration in the library, then you could get food, have dinner, and so, he would tell you about everything, but you would be married already.

OMFG I just read something old and MANNNN. You got me feeling all types of ways holy shit. The most I’ve ever felt reading a series holy cow. You are so fucking talented. Wowza. Please continue with the blurbs I feel like they are part of my life now.
Also does the fans know about Y/N and Harry’s current relationship? How did they feel when things were first announced after the wedding was called off and their relationship was exposed for the first time?
omg helllloooo you angel on earth !!! this message is soo lovely and kind and idk what i did to deserve it. i am so grateful that you took the time to write me and that you love the story so much!! i appreciate this message more than you knoow.
sorry this took me ages to answer as an apology i essentially wrote you a blurb pls see below
so per harry and erin's teams' agreement, the public never knew a wedding was supposed to take place. anyone who worked it had signed a pretty ironclad nda & all guests in attendance knew to stay silent about it, though some of erin's friends did try to go to deuxmoi at one point months later but that got shut down pretty quick. when the press release about the engagement ending came out, there was obviously endless speculation about it, discourse, tiktoks etc. people had a lot of feelings about harry and erin's relationship, they either absolutely loved the fashion power couple or they absolutely hated it and it was best to avoid any and all discussions on the matter, made easier by the break up being announced when you were on pause and doing your best to ignore any and all celeb news (though you did do some google searches at 3 am when you couldn't sleep but it immediately made you feel terrible so you avoided it like the plague, knowing if you needed to know something, harry would tell you)
as for your relationship, you both kept it realllly low key and private for the first year, wanting the broken off engagement to become old old news before anything got speculated about the two of you, harry was pretty adamant about ensuring no one connected you to the breakup. it was much easier than it sounds, he can really disappear when he needs to and it was important to both of you to protect what you had, shield it from prying eyes. his relationship with erin had been highly publicized and he had no interest in doing that again and you couldn't agree more, you've got no interest in that world or leaning into the public eye, so that first year was quite lovely, going on dates around london, moving in together around his birthday, 8 months into dating officially but conventional timelines never applied to you both. if you ever were spotted out together by fans, any speculation got shut down pretty quickly, people recognized you as his lifelong childhood friend and had no reason to assume otherwise, which worked in your favor when his tour started up again and there was tiktok upon tiktok about how "yes you've been to more shows than usual but jeff's at every show and no one thinks he's dating harry so why would they think it about you??" you avoided it all but roxy loved to take the piss, sending you screenshots every so often when you would show up on her for you page with a text "cannot seem to escape this bitch" to which you would reply "just how many videos of h's concert were you watching to get this on your algorithm?"
its in december 2021, the start of his few months off before the work craziness resumes, a lazy sunday morning. you're lounging on the couch, half heartedly clicking through netflix when you hear him come back into the house from his coffee run, hearing snippets of the phone call he's having getting louder after he kicks his shoes off and makes his way towards you.
"Yeah, I'll talk to her 'nd get back to you." he says, as he turns the corner, still bundled up with his beanie and hoodie pulled over his head, brow furrowed as he listens to the other end while still balancing the coffees and bag of pastries in his hand. "Yeah, for sure. Okay I'll call you back. Love you bro, bye."
He hangs up the phone, placing the treats on the coffee table before taking out his airpods and shuffling over to you. He hovers over where you lay, resting his hands on the back and arm of the couch before leaning in.
"Hi," he murmurs with a soft smile on his face, leaning in to kiss you.
You shudder when you pull away, the frost from outside having seeped into his face. "You're cold," you say with a small frown to which he immediately rolls his eyes and nudges his cold nose down the side of your face, pressing kisses all along your cheeks, forehead, jawline, until you push him away with a giggle. He smacks one final kiss to your head before pulling away, tugging his hoodie off his head and taking his beanie off to shake out his hair.
He leans back to grab the coffee off the table, handing you your cup while throwing the bag of pastries onto your lap before he grabs his own cup, lifting your legs temporarily before settling on the other side of the couch, placing your ankles over his lap. He leans back, resting his head against the back of the couch and closing his eyes for a minute, taking a deep breath. You assume you're the "her" he mentioned on the phone earlier but you opt to give him time, peeling open the pastry bag to see what he picked up.
"Got something weird to talk to y' about." he says, making you pause in your rifling efforts as you look over at him, finding him in the same position, his eyes still closed.
"Oookay."
He squeezes your ankle once, opening his eyes and rolling his head along the back of the couch to look at you.
"There was a pap yesterday. Last night. On our walk. Don't know how but - here." He pulls his phone out of his sweatshirt pocket, quickly unlocking it before handing it over to you.
You feel an uneasy pit in your stomach as you swipe through the photos, though there's nothing bad or damning or embarrassing about them. Objectively, they're quite lovely. The two of you bundled up through the blustery London night, his arm wrapped around your shoulders with yours around his waist, him pulling you into his chest as you laugh, his chin resting against your head, then pressing a kiss to your hair. You both look happy, really, really happy, completely unaware of any eyes on you. You keep scrolling through and - ah. There's the most revealing one, the two of you smiling up at each other before he pulls you into a kiss with his hands cradling your face.
You can feel his eyes on you, intently watching every emotion that passes over your face, thumb rubbing circles along your ankle. It's so weird, is the thing. To see this intimate moment between you two captured by a complete stranger who you had no idea was watching you. You've somehow managed to avoid this happening up until this point, the combination of lawsuits he has against paps in London and being able to blend in with the crowd having worked in your favor for the last year. It's a bizarre feeling, to feel like you got too complacent in your own life, should've been more aware of your surroundings. But also? Fuck that. You're not going to live your life differently because of what other people are doing or thinking. They're the ones with the issue, not you.
"'m so sorry," he says, 'Had no idea -"
"No no no," you say quickly cutting him off, as you hand him his phone back, sitting up and taking his hand when he offers it. "No need to apologize."
"Daily Mail and a few others got a hold of 'em, that was Jeff earlier. He and Sadie wanted to see if we wanted them to run any kind of interference." he says, small frown on his face as he plays with your palm, fingers drawing mindless patterns. "The photos are getting published regardless but like they could try to keep you as a mystery woman or summat -"
You snort, shaking your head as you rest your forehead on his shoulder, his arms wrapping around you and pulling you close. It takes a second of rearranging your legs before you're sat on his lap, his hand rubbing up and down your back. You pull back to look at him, hands coming up to cradle his face. He leans into the touch, turning to plant a kiss to your palm.
"You okay?" you ask quietly.
He nods. "Just don't like getting caught off guard like that. Don't like that people who don't know us will get to -"
"Yeah."
"And I don't want to fuck things up for you. Like your job or -"
"Everyone at work already knew. And those who didn't met you last week. Most people are barely on the internet there, I'm not stressed. " you say, sliding your hands to rest on his shoulders as he nods, brow furrowed in thought.
"'s gonna be intense for a bit. Might be good to hop on a call with Jeff and Sadie, see what boundaries we can set, control what we can control."
"Yeah, that'd be good," you say, your mind whirling as the reality of the situation sets in, photos of you kissing your boyfriend splashed all over the internet. Christ.
"Hey," he says gently. "Talk to me?"
"Sorry," you say, shaking your head. "I'm good. Just - it's a lot. It's definitely gonna be weird, nothing I can't adjust to but still just. Bizarre."
"Yeah." he says, his hand coming up rest at the back of your neck. "You look really fit in the photos if that helps."
You laugh, watching as the smile grows across his face, his thumb catching on your jawline.
"It does, thanks." you say, smiling back at him.
"'m really sorry this can't be easier. Being with me -"
"Shut up." you say, surprising a laugh out of him. "Please. This is nothing. Easy to ignore at the end of the day. All that matters to me is you."
"Same here," he says, taking a deep breath, lips twitching up. "All that matters to me is me."
"You're so stupid, I knew you were gonna say that -" you say, laughing as you slap him on the chest, trying to twist out of his hold but he pulls you back in.
"'s you, 's you. You know 's you darling, come here." he murmurs, smiling when you press your lips to his, gripping your neck a bit tighter as he kisses you back. You know you have to call back his team, figure out some logistics but that can wait. All you want is right here.
---
so yes, the photos get published, the fans freak out. lots claiming they always always knew, many spending their time trying to piece together the relationship timeline, no one connecting it back to erin thankfully. it helps that she is busy with her new billionaire boyfriend, (you almost clicked on their architectural digest tour the other day before deciding against it). but you both really ignore it all, keep going about your lives, nothing really changes because you don't let it. you both still want to keep your relationship out of the public eye as much as you can, it doesn't stop fans or paps from taking your picture when you're out together but its easy to ignore it, just focus on each other, ignore the noise and the crazy corners of the internet.
he rarely talks about you in interviews, confirming you're together, maybe a brief mention or two of his girlfriend but refusing to go beyond that. it's only in his zane lowe interview in late 2024 that he goes into a little more detail when describing his inspiration for his new album, but at that point he's calling you something entirely different :) :) :)

Gimme A Kiss - B.R.B
Summary: After returning from his mission, you and Bradley decide to get married right away.
Pairing: Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw x fem!reader
Content warnings: Minor spoilers for Top Gun: Maverick, drinking, fluff :)
My inbox is open :)
This is the wedding song
Tumblr media
You anxiously sat at the bar at The Hard Deck. Bradley should've called you by now. You knew that men in uniform probably would've found you and told you if he was dead, but that wasn't really something that you wanted to think about. Penny noticed you spin the engagement ring around your finger as you obsessively checked your phone. You thought that it was somehow broken, until you felt it vibrate from under your leg. Bradley's name and a picture of him popped up, and you ran outside to answer it.
"Hey, babe," he said. You chuckled through the tears and sat down.
"Hey yourself."
"We'll be back in about a half hour. I really missed you."
"I was so worried about you."
"I know. We'll be back sooner than you know it, though. Okay?"
"Okay."
"Listen, I gotta go. Mav wants to talk to me. I love you."
"Love you, too."
The two of you hung up and you ran into the bar to tell Penny the good news. Your excitement made her giggle before she told you to meet the guys at the docks. You still had time to make it. The weather was nice, so it wasn't much of a surprise to see a bunch of people at the docks anyways. It took a while for the carrier ship to fully dock, and you practically ran out of the car when crew members started to walk off of the ship.
"There she is! The future Mrs. Bradshaw," Payback yelled as he walked up to you. You smiled and gave him a hug before catching up for a few minutes. The conversation came to a grinding halt when you saw Bradley and Maverick out of the corner of your eye. You immediately ran over to them and jumped into Bradley's arms.
You smiled as you looked lovingly into each other's eyes before Bradley moved in to kiss you. People around were cheering for you, and you pulled away with a smile on your face.
"What do you say we get married?" He asked as he put you down.
"Well, we're already engaged."
"No, I meant tonight. Have the ceremony and all that."
"Yeah, but do we even know anyone who can officiate a wedding at the last minute?"
"I can!" Maverick exclaimed. You glanced at Maverick before looking back at Bradley.
"Let's do it," you said. Bradley kissed you once more before grabbing his bag and walking over to the rest of the group.
"Hey, can you guys meet us at our place in like two hours?" He asked.
"Yeah, what's up?" Pheonix asked.
"Our wedding. I know it's a spur of the moment thing, but we're getting married tonight and we want you there," you explained.
"Congratulations!" Everyone yelled. The conversation after that was fairly short, and you and Bradley were headed home sooner than you thought.
It didn't take you long to pick out a nice dress and do your hair. Bradley walked out of your shared bathroom and put his chin on your shoulder for a few minutes. The doorbell rang and he quickly got dressed before going downstairs to answer it. He left the door to your bedroom open, so it was easy to figure out that it was Penny and Maverick. The rest of the group wasn't supposed to be there for another half hour, so you finished doing your makeup and walked down the stairs with a white pair of heels in hand. As you looked at the kitchen island that held bottles of champagne, it suddenly dawned on you that you didn't have enough food for a cookout. This was not planned through.
"We don't have food," you loudly expressed. Bradley and Maverick locked eyes before turning to you.
"We can order some pizzas?" Bradley said, but it sounded more like a question.
"Whatever, just as long as we have enough food for everyone."
Once everyone had arrived, you put your shoes on and went outside. Maverick made the ceremony go by quick because it was obvious that everyone was more excited about the reception. Everyone cheered when you and Bradley kissed for the first time as a married couple. Penny announced that champagne was available, along with ice cream. Pheonix and Payback were the first ones to go back inside to make their champagne floats.
Music started to play, and you started to cry as you and Bradley had your first dance. Bradley picked you up and carried you bridal style inside so that the two of you could get your drinks.
"Get it, Bradshaw!" Hangman yelled. It was so unexpected that you couldn't help but laugh.
The night continued, and you were both partying until it started getting really late. After everyone went home, the two of you were finally able to go to bed.
Although the wedding wasn't entirely ideal, you were the happiest that you had ever been.

harry potter and his tumultous meetings with luck
Harry Potter was having a pretty peaceful life right now. Well, as peaceful as you can get being the man-who-conquers or the boy who lived twice or some other word misnomer people liked to refer to him by.
He had gotten his mastery in Defense Against the Dark Arts and was  teaching  DADA in  Hogwarts. His friends were married and thriving and his love life was never better. He has been dating his girlfriend Ginny Weasley for 10 years.
They started dating when he was 16 and she was 15 and have been going strong ever since then. Harry would like to say that they, “technically” broke up while Ginny liked to reiterate that Harry was being a prat so they were “technically” still together. Honestly, They both didn’t really care to count how long they were actually together.
Harry was currently 25  and Ginny 24 when Molly started hinting at the both of them getting married. At this point, everyone was joking saying Harry was going to take forever.
Somehow Ron manned up and got engaged to Hermione for two years and got married the previous year. It was a lovely fall wedding and Harry was the best man while Ginny was Hermione's maid of honor. Harry did not want to admit that he shed a few tears at the wedding and had a lot of fun.
Kids and marriage and the 4 story house with a picket white fence wasn’t really a goal that Ginny and Harry had set themselves out for. Ginny hadn’t really felt the need to wear a shiny rock to prove that she was Harry Potter’s wife as the Prophet liked to say. Ginny wasn’t in a rush to have the big lavish wedding that she knew her mother was going to throw and obsess over every single detail for her.
She would know because she did the same thing when Bill got married, when Charlie got married, when Fred and Geroge got Married and when Ron got married. All their closest friends either were already engaged, married or had a baby on the way.
Case in point Hermione and Ron, Bill and Fleur and so on.
Of course Harry and Ginny had talked about engagement and marriage and babies and they simply weren’t in a rush like everyone expected them to be. Ginny loved her career as the chaser for the HolyHead Harpies and Harry loved his job as a teacher. He tried the auror thing out for a year and quit because he did not want to spend the rest of his life chasing villains and dark lords.
He liked his life with Ginny but the next coming events were things he did not imagine happening. But he was harry potter so why was he surprised
It all started like this
It was a calm day and it was summer vacation with Harry being on break and Ginny not having her match until the next week. It was currently nightfall and Harry was sitting on the couch with the telly on but he was skimming through a book in his hand.
Ginny was currently laying upside down on the couch humming to herself. It was peaceful in a way with just the two of them relaxing and weren’t in the busy hustle of life. Harry glanced at his girlfriend and smiled amused thinking, “Wonder what she thinking about”
Ginny was humming lazily while the clock above them ticked at a steady pace. Harry noticed that Ginny was about to say something but was simply just laying there thinking of words to say. Sometimes Harry saw a little of Luna Lovegood's mannerisms in her. Just floating through everything that’s going on and not minding everything that ever was.
“Harry” Ginny asked with a smile on her face and amusement coloring her tone
“Yes, love?” Harry asked tentatively because you never  know with this one
“What if we just go married without telling anyone and then just walk in waiting for how long it’ll take for them to notice” Ginny asked grinning
Harry couldn’t help but chuckle, “You have wicked ideas, I love it”
Ginny asked, “So let’s get married today, not like it’s hard”
Harry looked at her shocked, “you mean right now”
“Yeah why not, I mean we’re gonna get busy and then we won’t have any tiiiiimee” Ginny whined playfully
Harry sighed exaggeratedly, “Fine let’s go get married”.
Ginny giggled and sat up grabbing Harry by the hadn who was asking confused, “Shouldn’t we change?”
Ginny thought for a moment, “nahh”
Harry fondly rolled his eyes and they went to get married. It was the easiest thing that Harry himself has ever done. He thought he would feel some sort of shaky nervousness but he didn’t. He was basically getting married to the love of his life. The person who stood with him at his worst and brought him to his best.
It was a very simple ceremony and Harry could not ask for anything better.  Ginny changed her mind and put on a simple white dress while Harry tugged on a white button shirt and pants. They walked into the muggle courthouse smiling excitedly.
In an hour Ginny Weasley was now known as Ginny Potter.
Harry was confused as to why she took his name but Ginny smiled genially at him and stated, “There’s a million other Weasleys to carry on the name but not a single potter but yourself, I’d reckon I’d like to become the second”
Harry couldn’t help but beam at his girlfr- no wife
Ginny never really saw the need for a wedding ring
“I’m already married to you why must a ring showcase that”
But she decided they had to know somehow
When walking into the jewelry store the man working in upfront stated, “An engagement ring too polish yes?”
Ginny took great relish in stating, “No we’re here to buy a wedding ring for both of us”
Harry rolled his eyes while grinning amused looking at the shocked man.
The man cleared his throat and took out the rings from the protective case. Both Ginny and Harry peered down at the cases, humming and hawing dramatically. Ginny would mutter, “I like that color”
While harry would respond back, “babe your mother would murder me if i got a ring like that for you”
Ginny grinned, “It has a certain touch too it”
Ginny giggled but put the ring down and perused some more with Harry giving sarcastic commentary along the way. It was quite funny to see the shopkeeper's face turn redder and redder with each passing insult to the rings.
Harry of course didn’t mean any of it and Ginny found it hilarious either way
They finally decided on a teal sapphire ring that had leaves circling it. Ginny picked the color because it reminded her of Harry's eyes just a little. After paying for the selected ring the shopkeeper looked relieved for the two of them to be leaving but ginny then stated, “let’s get a ring for you too”
Harry gasped dramatically, “for meee?”
Ginny fondly rolled her eyes, “yes for you”
They spent another hour there carefully picking up each and every single one of the rings and finding the tiniest faults with it because their reservation for dinner wasn’t for another two hours. From there they were planning on going home and celebrating. And then tomorrow was a Weasly family dinner with everyone in attendance.
Ginny had bets running on who was going to see the rings or notice first.
Harry had 10 galleons on Luna while Ginny had 10 on her hawkeyed mother.
Finally, Harry also decided on a ring that had a teal band running through it.
“I wanted it to match” Harry explained excitedly
Ginny fondly rolled her eyes while controlling her giggles
After finally paying and actually leaving to the shopkeeper's relief, Harry and Ginny went to dinner. It was a place they rarely went to and only for special occasions. To get a reservation you had to plan months in advance but Harry and Ginny were stickin rich and also a potter owned this restaurant or whatever and they were allowed to walk in whenever and eat for free.
The sight it probably was to walk in with people dressed to the nines while ginny and harry had on comfortable clothing. Ginny was judging the clothing when being walked to their table.
“That does not look comfortable” Ginny motioned over to the woman in a skin-tight dress.
Harry hummed in agreement ad they finally sat down at their table.
Harry sighed, “I’m beat”
Ginny agreed, “Who knew something as simple as getting rings and signing some papers was that stressful”
Harry grinned, “I wouldn’t say stressful, it was fun actually”
Ginny beamed at him, “It was wasn’t it”
Harry then asked, “I think in the distant future maybe we should do the bonding ceremony”
Ginny thoughtfully agreed, “I think so too, we also might get some heat off of us from just popping a ring on our fingers and calling it a wedding”
Harry had the fake falsetto voice, “How dare you  get wedded without your family”
Ginny couldn’t help but cackle out loud
So they sat there eating there weight in fancy food and just sitting there talking and talking and more talking.
Harry felt finally at peace with his wife sitting and eating dinner. Who knew something like that would cause him so much happiness?
Harry was always stuck in some dangerously dangerous situation that almost killed him or his family and best friends.
Ginny absentmindedly picked Harry’s hand and started playing with the fingers. (not in that way ya nasties)
Harry couldn’t help but fondly smile at her in love.
“Yeah this is the life I dreamed of sitting in that cupboard all those years ago” He thought to himself content.
present-day
Harry and Ginny were idly walking around as they got ready for the Weasley Sunday Dinner ™ . They haven’t seen everyone else for a week because they basically were offline from the world and went to America for their “fake but kinda real honeymoon” as Ginny would like to say.
Harry tugged on another buttoned-up shirt which a light blue and Ginny matched him with a pretty blue dress that Luna gifted her. Harry forgoed the suit coat and tie because he didn’t see the need to be that fancy.
Ginny was looking at her hair in annoyance because she just wasn’t in the mood to brush it. Harry walked and gently took the brush from her and started on a fishtail braid. How Harry knew how to braid? Well, when he was younger and Hermione sometimes needed help with her own hair, Harry would look up books in how to do different hairstyles.
Harry actually kind of liked the hairstyles and slowly figured out a way to grow his own hair out. The Dursley despised it but Harry absolutely loved it. It also made his hair a little more manageable with the skeezy hair products that actually worked.
After harry finished, Ginny turned him around and put a simple bun for him which harry didn’t mind at all.
After everything was ready but took a deep breath and walked through the floor after calling out, “The Burrow”
Harry still absolutely hated floo travel but dealt with it unfortunately.
They saw the burrow in chaotic chaos as usual and half the kids running too them
“Aunt Ginny” Victoire or “Vicky” came running towards them
“Uncle Harry” Teddy shouted excitedly with his hair turning a brighter teal
All the others came as well with all of them laughing and giggling while catching up. All sat in the living room and Ginny made sure too show off her ring but no one seemed to pay attention.
Both Harry and Ginny looked at each other with a bemused smile on their faces.
Soon the room was awashed with chatter and gossip until the dinner bell rang.
Then it was a stampede outside to get to the chairs and Harry and Ginny just calmly walked outside with their arms swinging.
Ginny sat down next to her niece Vicky while Harry sat next to Teddy.
Both were chattering both of ther ears after not seeing there favorite family members for a week.
Everything was going normally until luna cut in serenly with, “Congratulations Harry and Ginny”
Everyone looked at the couple confused
Ron asked, “What do you mean congratulations luna”
Luna looked surprised, “They didn’t tell you”
Hermione looked frustrated, “Ask us what”
Ginny cleared her throat and exclaimed proudly, “We got married”
Molly Weasley shouted, “WHAT”
Before she could start shouting luna stated, “No, I was saying congratulations on you baby ginny”
Harry and Ginny looked at each other surprised
“Huh no wonder you hated the smell of vanilla” Harry muttered
“I honestly got sick of it” ginny replied back
Molly looked like she was about to get a heart attack while everyone else was confused and happy.
