Hello. I wanted to say that I really like your art style, especially how you do Katara's face. That's awesome.

But every time I read the description of your AUs, it gives me the creeps. You once said you try to stay true to Katara's character, but... your AUs are like "what if I take one of her major character traits and throw it in a trash bin?".

Halfblood AU: no connection to her culture that basically defies everything Katara thinks and feels about her waterbending.

Helping the Fire Nation AU: no hope for the avatar that Katara expressed in the intro of every episode of the original show.

And lowkey less kindness. She's cautious and bitter and wants to help only Zuko.

She seems like a completely different character. Not Katara at all.

Zuko too. I doubt he'll be in the White Lotus, it's not in his character at all. He may use the help of the members, but the original ("The Desert") tells us he will not be one of them, it's just not his style.

You make zutara look shallow, like you think that Zuko and Katara as they are in the show would never work together. As a person who sees appeal in this ship I feel very uneasy seeing your interpretations.

And my god, why do you hate Hakoda so much? Every time you add anything to halfbloodAU he looks more and more disgusting. I cannot believe mister "you and your brother are my entire world" would do what you are saying. And a married man with a child cannot be so naive to think that a woman won't become pregnant after having sex with him. Hakoda would've returned and checked and tried to help.

Hello, and thank you for writing. I'm glad that you enjoy my art, at least to some extent, and I'm sorry if I ever made you uncomfortable with my AUs. However, I find myself in the need of defending them.

Creating AUs is something I take seriously, and one of the core traits of an AU is that it's, inherently, a different world. I can change virtually anything, and that's okay. Haven't we all read a fic and thought, this character wouldn't react like this in canon, but went along with it anyway? Because we know this isn't supposed to be canon. These characters are living in a different context, and react to things differently.

Canon exists for a reason. An AU does, too. They're different concepts and must be treated accordingly. It's a matter of context.

But we're talking about characters, aren't we?

You've pointed out that I've changed Zuko and Hakoda, too. And you're right. I've found that people online are more... defensive of Katara when compared to other characters. And while that may not be important to this specific discussion, I do find it rather curious. It's something to think about.

Anyways, I change characters. And I've gotta confess, I'm not ashamed of it.

My Katara is still Katara, and my Zuko is still Zuko. I'm just playing with how I believe they would react in different scenarios, and with different backgrounds (that's important, too).

You mentioned that my AUs are like "what if I take one of [Katara's] major character traits and throw it in a trash bin?". And I'm sorry that they give you the creeps, truly.

But maybe I want to explore how being a product of two different cultures affects not only Katara, but also Zuko as characters. Halfblood gives me the opportunity to address these sociocultural issues through their personal experiences, and I find that kind of narrative awfully compelling.

And maybe I wanted to change one core trait of Katara's personality and see how that affected both her journey and the general plot. Hunters is a writing experiment, and it has taught me a lot about human nature. Thanks to what you so kindly call "throwing a character trait in a trash bin", I've gained a lot more respect for who Katara is in canon. If anything, I consider Hunters!Katara as a foil for Canon!Katara.

And I don't hate Hakoda. I have a lot of respect for him as a leader and a father. I think he's a great character and role model for others within the ATLA universe. Bashing characters for fun isn't really my thing. The choices I made for Hakoda in the HalfBlood AU (and Aang in Hunters) are a matter of narrative and plot building, not my opinion on his character.

Just think about how different that AU would be if Hakoda made better choices, if he didn't have a wife and a son waiting for him at the South, or if Katara's father was a random Earth Kingdom villager. About 60% of the conflict in the story would disappear. And I could build that conflict with other stuff, I admit it. I could use different plot points or make the characters do other things or give Katara One Big Happy Family.

But it would change the core themes of the story I want to tell.

It's important to me that Katara is a product of two different cultures. It's important that she has no father figure in her life. It's important that Hakoda, who is a great leader and a great man and a great husband and a great father for Sokka, made a huge mistake in his youth that has been weighting on him ever since. It's important that Sokka is suddenly faced with the realization that his father, his idolized role model, is human and has also royally fucked up.

I want to talk about these things.

But I'm able to recognize that they're heavy subjects and, really, most of us are just here for the fluff anyway. So I'm sorry if I've made anyone uncomfortable. I won't hold it against you if you don't like what I do or just ignore whatever lore I set up for my AUs.

This is fiction, this is freedom, and this is the way I express myself. We all do it differently, and that's part of the beauty.

A childhood memory that you remember vividly: during a summer in greece, idk how, but I got roped into selling watermelons off the side of the road. I couldn't have been more than 6 or 7, but I remember I would put the watermelon in a plastic bag and the farmers thought it was really funny because that's such a...united states thing...to bag 1 whole watermelon in plastic. Anyways, they paid me in cucumber slices with salt.

Least favorite animal and why: HUH LEAST. I'm not a huge fan of like reptiles? Specifically those smaller than a bread box. Too fast, too squirm. Im worried I'll crush them in my hands. (im thinking of specifically florida geckos...idk they are cute but i freak out trying to hold them).

Three things you love about yourself: my writing- its something that I enjoy the most in the world and something that I can claim as mine. A place you hope to visit in the future and why: HMMMMM. I want to visit Japan again. For a new place, I want to go to South America. Peru maybe??? Mexico would also be nice. So that's what I'm gearing up towards next.

I also got kind of show-ponyed in a toxic discord server for a while which has completely ruined me in the ability to act normal on discord outside of my irl friends. that account is deleted but the ao3 is still circling around.

List three things you find beautiful about life: Friends and family- sometimes I want to kill but I really do love them so so much. I like creating things and creating things with people. I also really like my area as far as nature goes. the beach to swamp ratio sings to me.

Any dreams for the future? I want to go on a really long hike. Maybe like a 2 day one? (< says the person that has gone on a max 2 hour hike before). Also just working on my original fiction again. I miss those fellas.

OC Info Dump, Orothyyk (oh-RO-th-eek)

This is about Orothyyk my Togruta since I've been world building him in the Fox discord. Feel free to ask about any of my OC or Original species I have.

He is in TCW era, young spunky pilot, basically fresh in his 20s, about 19, he's been flying solo since he was 15 when he stowed on a passing tradeship from Kiros.

yes, his family on Kiros thinks he went missing, he told no one and he had a no thoughts head empty moment of wanting adventure

He was not smart

few years later, he's 18 when the war starts, 19 when he decides to do more with his life than adventure for self pleasure, he signs up to help republic worlds and taking republic jobs, eventually becoming a well known pilot for hire by the republic until the republic offers him a permanent position in their army as a star fighter pilot, mostly due to the fact on one of his missions he ended up working with Skywalker, and keeping up with him easily in the sky, Anakin was impressed and put the recommendation in. soon enough, Oro was in Coruscant, reading paper work, getting fitted out for custom gear, and awaiting battalion assignment

I've thought about him with the guard, he interacted with them in passing jobs in the past, he was hired to fly senators places fast, and he interacted with them while he was waiting for gear and assignment

but he could not stay as he would get to antsy, and will end up biting someone or insulting everything the person holds dear

Oro is not the person to stand around. Oro likes to lay back or sit on the rails, mostly swinging around on the rails to watch everyone from above. he's not scrawny, but more lean for an agile and quick form, less about lifting heavy, and more about being fast, especially to get in his ship as soon as possible. Oro is bad at flying anything larger than a star fighter

eventually he is assigned to the 501st, he has the energy for it. Anakin and Oro are always talking about ship mods. Absolute brothers. Oro is the kinda guy to hang with the clones at 79s. Bonds with the troopers a lot "I may be nat-born, but I'm a soldier like you guys, I hold no rank, just a ship. Even Fives is above me in rank."

Oro isn't allowed at meetings. And if he is, he isn't allowed to talk due to is disrespect for authority. So that whole "Fives outranks me" thing. Fives is like, "wow, this is absolutely worthless"

He loves his ship, and originally never let the clones paint it. until Fives and Echo painted it as a prank. And Oro did nothing, didn't even wash it off. Then was caught repainting it when it got scratched. So all the clones started to paint it, one mark for every clone he's saved

Surprisingly, you don't see him and Ahsoka hang out alot on their own time. They are friends and chill when mutual friends are around, but often the age gap keeps them from bonding closer. They are like siblings, but estray…. trying to explain it… They help, give, protect, listen, and they are close, But on down time, Oro prefers to do more adult things like bars and shopping for ship parts. With Someone as energetic as him, he actually doesn't do a lot of pranking.

During the wrong Jedi arc, Oro was detained for biting the guards and Anakin had to pick him up after everything ended.

it is a Very VERY awkward. Especially with Anakin distrusting Obi-wan, losing Ahsoka, distrusting the jedi, then only having Oro left.

Anakin like

"oro, you are the only one left."

"I'm just a pilot sir…"

"do you want to be a commander"

"Anakin… I can't even read… that well"

But Anakin does it anyway, Anakin lowkey mentally replacing Ahsoka hoping to fill the hole. and Oro has no idea how to be a commander. having the biggest rank jump from pilot to commander. Starts taking a lot more nights flying or at 79s to avoid everything, basically stopped modding out his ship with Anakin

Oro was around in the back when order 66 happened, Anakin put him on leave right before shit went down with Palpatine

He was chilling at 79s when he saw all the clones go still, all of them marching out of the bar. Oro was confused, walking out of the bar he noticed some go to their barracks or ships, then all the 501st were headed for the temple. Oro knows something is wrong and rushes to his ship to fly over, his first thought was the separatists attacking the temple… until he reaches it… and it isn't separatists.

Oro knows his ship is recognizable, he doesn't know that Anakin recognizes it, doesn't know Anakin is there. Oro spent his time trying to get jedi out. But he could only save two or three at a time, he could only do so much

Oro has a bounty on his head from the empire, but it explicitly says alive Vader wants to talk. Wants to hear from Oro, did Oro betray him. Vader has no real proof that Oro betrayed him, only that he last saw Oro doing flights around the temple during order 66 then never saw him again. he needs to know... just as he went looking for Ahsoka, he went looking for Oro. He has no idea Vader is Anakin.

He's Terrified that the Empire is after him. The empire knows his face, and worst of all, the empire knows his ship. All the markings and paint of the clones he once saved… is still saving. He had to get rid of the ship. And it hurt… No one would buy it, the empire had it too well posted… so He had to sell it… in pieces… Watching the paint burn as he watched scrappers melt it down. He got himself a new star fighter, and just continued risking his life for force sensitive families and eventually even freeing clones when he learns about the chips. He saved a piece of his old ship, the wing where the 501st painting a mudhorn with all the signatures from his flight squad all over it.

He's a sentimental fool. doing jobs… getting info from the rebellion, from Lando, Hondo… recovering Clones and force sensitives. His luck runs out eventually.

he learns of the empire rounding up all the clones with chips that are breaking or malfunctioning. There is a cargo ship to load up the clones, but most of them need their chips removed as they are going off and on. the distraction is gone, Oro isn't done yet, many clones are recovering and a few still need their chips removed. So Oro goes to make a distraction, keep the path clear for the clones to reach the cargo. The clones are free, but he is caught.

I saw your ship posts abt kagehina...Physical display of affection or words of affirmation aren't the only thing to see as romance

It's just something i see from a lot of bokuaka fans how it's the only ship they can see as happening. while kagehina is just not it because for some odd reason they don't seem that way? Kageyama is not so good with words but shows his actions which speak louder and honest. He wants Hinata to get better, waits for him and there is a silent understanding between the two only those two will get like i win this time too. They do well with distance, it don't seperate them, they have ample trust..

While rivalry is integral part of their relationship it's what Kageyama loves the most as his life is around vb. Guy is Olympian at 19 but waits for Hinata as his someone better.

It's very odd that bits and pieces of what kagehina have is reflected in many ships yet there is this thing where people will not see that in kghn because their personalities aren't sweet enough? I'm sorry for the rant and i don't intend to be rude even if it seems that way. It was one thing I'm always curious about a lot of bokuaka fans don't seem to see kagehi the same way

anyways. my own kind-of-solicited opinions forthcoming:

i've said that i think kagehina are more platonic than romantic but that doesn't mean i don't think they care deeply about each other because of a lack of words of affirmation and physical touch, first of all.

there are definitely other forms of love and of showing love that they give to each other, and i think those are completely valid. they definitely trust each other and they support each other completely and unequivocally. i totally agree with that. idk what i said or did that makes you think i, like, don't think that's love? because it is! they do love each other!

personally, however, i think they're more abt platonic love than romantic love. i just can't see them in a healthy romantic relationship; i think there would be too many issues with healthy communication, particularly because of the distance. in my individual opinion, i think that they absolutely love each other in their own way, but it wouldn't translate to a romantic relationship.

they're both too intense in incompatible ways: in the era that we see them for the majority of the story, they are kind of each other's most important relationship. i think that they both need to reach out to other people and find other support systems and other forms of love before they could ever be together, and by the time they're adults who have more experience with love and people in general, i don't think a relationship is realistic.

this isn't to say that they don't love each other at all! it's just to say that they wouldn't have a healthy romantic relationship because their friendship is so intense right off the bat. this is particularly relevant to kageyama.

with regards to bokuaka, i honestly don't think that they're really comparable when it comes to romance. i think that both pairings help each grow and become better people and players, but i also think that--at the point we see them in during canon--they have a very different foundation for a relationship.

both inspire each other's character growth, but it is born out of different places. kageyama and hinata don't start off as equals, they grow to be. which is fine and cool and wonderful!! i just can't see it turning romantic as unstable high schoolers and once they're adults, those feelings wouldn't be romantic in my mind because their individual worlds have expanded so much, now including forms of love that they chose to seek out rather than were kind of lowkey destined to by virtue of creating such intense competition.

meanwhile, bokuto and akaashi start off as equals who help each other grow as people because they have different struggles that they help each other with. they step up where the other falters because they care about each other, yes, but also because they are doing it for themselves and because they want to get better for themselves rather than for each other. in my mind, this is a much healthier dynamic when it comes to romance.

i like bokuaka romantically and i just don't see kagehina as anything other than platonic, but that doesn't mean kagehina don't love each other and mean the world to each other: platonic relationships are equally as important as romantic ones, and can even hold more weight for some individuals.

idk man. i probably have other thoughts that i'll think of five minutes after posting this, but i'm tired and that's all i got for rn.

just to be clear though, i completely respect people who ship kagehina romantically and it's 100% your right to do that, i just don't see it myself. there's nothing wrong with that either!

anyways, i'm thankful you don't intend to be rude, but i am genuinely confused as to why you are so thoroughly ranting to me when i have nothing against you or the general population of people who ship kagehina? i'm always open to conversations about ships though, so thank you for reaching out and letting me talk about this :D

To be honest, the first oc this made me think of was Blake, who I know you know a lot about XD but I'll give you a headcanon anyway!

Ok so like. Blake LOVES pirates. He doesnt have any experience manning a ship or sailing at all or even singing sea shanties but he loves the idea of pirates, who can go wherever they want and do whatever they want and swear as much as they want, and basically he just likes the idea of having that much freedom. He would make a good pirate probably, other than the fact that he would probably go stir crazy if he was confined to one singular ship.

...oh wow i really have become obsessed with pirates lately if this is where my brain immediately went

Anyway though! For a headcanon more related to bats! It probably comes as very little surprise to anyone who has seen my designs for Blake but his demon wings absolutely look like bat wings, and that is on purpose, because I just love the vibes and they fit him so well, especially since bats are fuzzy little critters and you cannot convince me that Blake isnt also a fluffy little bean. But other than that, I also lowkey made dreamworld Blake very similar to Batman, even though I'm only recently getting into that fandom. I love the idea of a slightly overpowered antihero that has way too much money to burn and doesnt hog it like most irl rich people but instead uses it for the sake of helping people, and who is also an overdramatic angst lord who likes wearing capes lol

I dont know if ive talked about that much, actually. Blake has a lot of money. My dream world Ganondorf made this huge company that gathers and distributes information and he hired Blake as like, the person who trains the bodyguards and other warriors who protect said information from physical threats, and as such he naturally gets tons of money from it.

He and Vivi have that much more rivalry between them because of it (Vivi hopes to someday have more information than Ganondorf's company does and also they like the idea of "eat the rich" so this is the main reason they hack into Blake's bank account to pay for any clients that they get that can't pay their prices. Blake doesn't like this at all obviously but, despite the fact he would never admit it, he gets why Vivi does it and thats why he never actually does anything to Vivi for it, he just makes empty threats and waves his scythe around and pretends to be mad)

So yeah anyway Blake is basically Batman but hes a bratty teen demon lord instead of a playboy billionaire that accidentally adopted a bunch of superheroes and I only just now realized this lol. I wouldnt say i have a type but DANG there are certain character tropes that just click with me, huh

❧ i think it's canon that this man is a gossip, he'd be totally nosy with you. he'd come to you whenever he finds out a juicy new secret about whoever it is he's spying on this time. if the two of you are in public and there's a couple or group of people nearby in a heated discussion, he is not above moving the two of you closer so you can eavesdrop on what's going on. he'd also like playing that game where you people watch and make up stories about whoever you see, it's so fun. if he's in your world and you happen to have a school yearbook he'd want you to go through all the people and spill everything you know about them, from what clique they were in to that one embarrassing thing they did in tenth grade that no one's forgotten yet

I look at a lot of stuff on Pinterest and one of people's reasons on why Oumasai is toxic is because Kokichi made Shuichi want to kill himself? Something tells me this is wrong but I'm not sure what proves it wrong. (I mean they also point out that Kokichi mocks Shuichi for mourning Kaede-) I'm asking about this because its been eating at me and trying to prove that it isn't toxic.

Hooo boy this is gonna be long so buckle up! I’m sorry I couldn’t make this shorter I just really go all ace attorney mode when it comes to this type of stuff.

I think what they’re referring to is how Shuichi got really depressed after discovering that the world had ended, but how can it be Kokichi’s fault? He literally wasn’t the mastermind, he didn’t make all that stuff up. Heck, he was the first one to even see that motive and on his own it was way worse to deal with. His behaviour was so out of line that Kaito got fed up with him and punched him for the nonsense he was saying.

The motive was supposed to make everyone fall to despair, it’s purpose was legit what happened to Miu where she NEEDED to go out to help out the world before everyone was gone. The motive was MEANT to be seen to make the game “More interesting” but Kokichi didn’t let the others see it until he finally convinced them that he’s the mastermind. If he didn’t the Mastermind would find a way to show it to them in a different way and there’s no knowing what could happen, and if he showed it to them himself they’re bound to believe what he’s saying considering the fact it’s obvious he already knew about this. He took that motive to basically make everyone give up on trying escape by killing each other, since as the mastermind he said “The game’s over now! There’s no point.” to prevent another murder from happening. AND IT WORKED, for a long while no murder took place but of course the actual mastermind couldn’t just sit idly and let the game be “boring” (Which was Kokichi’s goal) So they made a flashback light that Maki ended up seeing and calling the others to see, and the flashback light made everyone including Maki believe that Kokichi was a remnant of despair. They wanted to get rid of Kokichi for messing with the game and taking over their position, and this was their way to do it.

So, after all that, if others see that KOKICHI was the reason Shuichi wanted to give up for a second there. Then I really don’t know what to say. Shuichi has went through so much already because of the killing game and Kokichi’s attempt to stop the killing game is not the reason he wanted to give up. It was because he lost a lot his friends and because the world was most probably all gone. At that point he had nowhere to go back to and everything he has worked so hard for was for nothing because there’s nothing left. Kokichi didn’t do anything to Shuichi for him to be the sole reason he suddenly wanted to die. His depression got the best of him after being all alone with his thoughts for a couple of days, not eating or moving just sleeping the entire time. If anyone is at fault it’s the mastermind for making up such a cruel lie that even made Gonta commit murder to “save” the others.

And for the mocking him about Kaede’s death part (Which is literally one line after Shuichi removed his hat) Kokichi at that point had witnessed that the killing game was real and it was going to get him eventually. He wasn’t alright either and he had already started to make everyone hate him, acting more hostile and annoying so they all stay away (since anyone who groups up everyone or brings them hope will end up like Kaede did) He didn’t want to be the next Kaede or Rantaro. It started with that line but in the end he cut off all ties he had (if he had any) in chapter 4 so that they have no doubt that he is only full of malice and that he is indeed the mastermind.

“But how do you know that he has been devising that plan since back then?” Remember the “horse a” message? the first letters were added to it right before the next morning after the first trial where Shuichi entered the dining room without his hat. If you don’t believe me, here’s a paragraph from well written wiki!

Sometime between the end of the first trial and the morning of the next day, Kokichi would begin to devise of a plan to get everyone to think that he was the mastermind of this killing game, willing to be seen as evil for the sake of ending this madness. To begin this plan, he would leave a subtle message in the courtyard "Horse A", which he would later fill in with more letters as the killing game continued.

If it wasn’t already obvious, Kokichi is a LIAR. And his biggest lie of being the mastermind started after he saw the deaths of Rantaro and Kaede. That first chapter affected Kokichi a lot, he lied and lied to hide it but he was shaken up by the sudden death of Rantaro and was devastated by Kaede’s death. Though all he could say at her last moments is that she wasn’t boring. Because he knew, if he was truthful? Eyes would be on him immediately and he would be in danger.

Kokichi did his best to be the person he would hate the most, he lies so much yet says he hates liars, then says that’s a lie. Making everyone confused as to what the hell is right or wrong in what he’s saying. But he couldn’t keep up his facade forever especially when he was starting to get interested and even attached to Shuichi. In one completely optional scene in chapter 3 he legit says that he doesn’t want Rantaro to be the one who gets resurrected (Though he probably was more interested in him because he obviously knew more than he let on in chapter 1. Asking everyone about the Ultimate Hunt when no one else remembered it until they say the flashback lights, his fight with Hoshi, and how he was so sure that he WILL end the killing game. Kokichi even had his effigy in his room because he saw it as a clue or evidence that can help later, he needed to know what he was hiding and what his talent was.) and despite all that when Shuichi asks why he doesn’t want Rantaro to be the one, he says “Because you’d rather have Kaede back.” Of course he writes it off as a lie, but then right after that he SHOWS Shuichi his interest in Rantaro saying he might be working for the mastermind. The exact lines are:

Kokichi: “What if Rantaro was working for the mastermind? Bringing him to life might be a bad idea.” 

(Trying to make Shuichi believe that he really did lie there about his reason why he didn’t want Rantaro to come back by making him believe that THIS was the real reason. I don’t know exactly if he entertained the idea or not, but he most probably did not believe Rantaro to be the mastermind here. He might have even made up that killing game anime he was talking about. Its’ real for us but might not be for them.)

Shuichi: “N-no that’s idiotic! Rantaro couldn’t have been working for the mastermind...:

“But is it really impossible? We only knew Rantaro for a short time. He did seem as though he was kind of used to the killing game”

The “used to” in that sentence was highlighted. THIS was Kokichi’s intention, to make Shuichi realise that Rantaro knew more than he let on. Which reinforces Kokichi’s interest in him. But Shuichi fell for Kokichi’s trap earlier and didn’t notice at all that he slipped the fact Rantaro would give more information.

It’s confusing I know, Kokichi’s thing is mind games after all. But what I’m trying to say is that for Kokichi’s goal to figure out this killing game and how to end it Rantaro would be most ideal to bring back but he just wanted to tell Shuichi that he’d rather have Kaede instead just so he’s happy. The evidence for that is how even after he says its a lie he lowkey shows Shuichi he’s more interested in Rantaro instead. It reminds me of those scenes where he says “WAAAHH I THOUGHT YOUD KNOW I HATE COFFEE” then right after he’s like “I’m tired of all that crying can I have a cup of coffee please.” Or “I actually can’t taste anything!” then “anyway my faves are spice and sugar!”

Kokichi did say something insensitive when he said “Is it cause Kaede died or whatever?” but it didn’t bother Shuichi at all he just brushed it off since he saw how he acted in the trial earlier. It wasn’t a surprise to him. Kaede’s death affected Kokichi too, and that line doesn’t match up with what he said about bringing Kaede back.

You never know what’s the truth and what’s a lie with Kokichi, everything he says contradicts each other. So how is it that all these people who hate Kokichi and call him toxic take his worst lines or moments as the truth when the context of his entire character and motive says otherwise. When he had to crush Shuichi the most so he believes that he is full of malice without a single doubt. To make him believe he was really the mastermind immediately, so he doesn’t go all detective on him like he usually does.

Kokichi’s actions were terrible yes but they were LIES he did it for a purpose that’s what makes him a grey character when in a KILLING GAME. It’s shown in salmon team that under normal circumstances the two would get along and Shuichi would want to learn more about Kokichi and his true self.

TLDR; Leave these children be, they were in a killing game. No ship is toxic unless it’s shown that person was terrible / messed up from the start and would hurt whoever they’re with. Those users just obviously don’t like Kokichi and hate seeing him with anyone XD and it’s obvious with how they blame him over a motive Monokuma/ the Mastermind has created and straight up ignoring the intentions behind his actions.

Now without evidence and stuff, truly speaking from my heart from here with full on bias XD

I get hating a character or a ship but oh my god can you not spread misinformation for others to feel obligated to agree? Toxic is such a strong word and I hate how people keep associating it with every ship they dislike. Making others feel bad for what comforts them! If Saiouma was so toxic how come it makes so many people happy? How come it makes people literally calm down,  stop crying, and feel warm. Saiouma is one of the most adorable and realistic ships out there... Don’t ruin it for everyone else just because you don’t agree with how we feel. Just say you’re not a fan and move on!

Anyway don’t worry your ship is very valid! You can continue supporting them without feeling any guilt and if anyone calls it toxic they can see me so I break their kneecaps.

Hi again! <3 My other CGI crossover ships are Eugelsa, Sweet Tooth (Toothiana x Bunnymund), Vaniro (but ONLY in an AU with an aged-up Vanellope because their canon age difference is pretty awkward and uncomfy), Ramaari, Eep x Guy, Johnny x Mavis, and Agduna!

Some other pairings that I like but don’t hardcore ship or anything are HiJack, Elstrid, Elsamaren, Rydoff, and Pithel (Pitch x Gothel)! And in the second movie he like...is obsessed with her and barely has any personality outside of his relationship with her and it’s just kinda Yikes to me. Also I don’t think he really “grounds” Anna in the way she needs like??? He tries to tell her she’s wrong by being rude and talking down to her (like when he shames her for marrying Hans like...10 minutes after they meet??? He’s not WRONG, but it’s not really appropriate to give a near-stranger a hard time about their relationship) and tbh I think Hiccup would just be able to ground Anna in a much more respectful and sensitive way while also not being afraid to call her on her bullshit when she’s being dumb. I also dislike Mo/ariel a lot because lowkey it strikes me as the femslash J/elsa like...people only seem to ship them because “OMG OCEAN!!!” and Ariel doesn’t even really want to be in the ocean anyways like??? Also even though they’re the same age, Ariel is pretty immature compared to Moana, and she claims to love a guy she’s never even spoken to, which Mo would just roll her eyes at. I’ll admit it’s partly personal bias here because I’ve always disliked Ariel and I love Moana with all my soul, but I just cannot get behind Mo/ariel at all.

5 days have passed, and still no sign of Paige’s family breaking into Jacob’s stronghold, and saving her redheaded hunter ass from the elder Seed bro’s redheaded ass. I just wanted to put some comedy relief into this for once. Anyway, Paige has learned from Ryan that Jacob goes by a schedule, and everyday he wakes up at 6am sharp, he goes over to his route with training his soldiers, doing paperwork, putting in orders, and torturing innocent people with classical conditioning. 

Between 8am and 10am that's when he goes to the cages, and taunts the elder Winchester sister. For the past few weeks Paige and Ryan have been keeping track on his schedule, luckily Ryan has a watch, and that makes everything easier for them. Everyday for the past 5 days, and even before that, between 12 and 1:30pm when the soldiers feed the prisoners the half cooked shitty raw meat, they also dump out dead rotten bodies of the innocent people Jacob as killed via his classical conditioning, and his trials. 

Paige and Ryan lay awake in their cages, Ryan looking down at his watch reading 5:52am.

“It's almost time for Jacob to get up” he whispers to Paige.

She nods her head, and says “So today is the day we bust out of here”.

“Yeah, I don’t wanna jinx anything but hopefully they go by the everyday schedule” he says worried.

Paige looks over at him with a somewhat mad look, while he looks down at his watch.

Kate still can’t believe it, it's been a few days and she still hasn’t told anyone, not even Kenny.

She never thought she would even see her again.

Her mother Mandy Winchester, she’s alive and well.

She hasn’t seen or heard from her mom in almost 8 years.

She lost custody of her and Paige when they were 13 and 16 years old. 

When they were attending school in Iowa, one of Kate’s teachers saw cuts, bruises and scrapes on her arms, and that was enough for the teacher to call Child Protective Services on them, and let's just say it didn’t end well for that teacher. 

But where in the Whitetails is she living? It's a huge region, nothing but mountains and forests.

She waits until everyone else gets up, because it's too early and she’ll never hear the end of it. 

Plus she’s known her mom was alive for a few days, and she never told anyone. 

“Maybe I should go out, and find her” she thinks to herself.

She decides to go look for her mother. 

She gets up out of bed, goes to her computer and looks up the saved location of her mother’s whereabouts.

It looks like she was near the wolves den? 

“Is she working with the Whitetail militia?” she thinks to herself again. 

She goes into the cameras, and checks. She sees her mom talking to Eli? Maybe? From what it looks like. 

Eli was helping us search for Paige, and does he know that Mandy is Kate and Paige’s mom?

She gets dressed, and quietly leaves the house trying not to wake up the others.

She gets into her car, and leaves to the Whitetail Mountains.

Ryan and Paige keep a close eye on Jacob’s schedule, he just stepped out of the facility, and now he’s giving orders to his men. He goes back inside the facility. 

“Okay if all this goes as planned, we should be able to get out by 2pm” he says softly.

She nods, and says “Okay, okay, good”.

“So for now, we just go by their schedule, and wait”.

Realization hits Paige like a train, she turns back to Ryan and says

“Okay but how do we get out of our cages”.

“Fuck” he mumbles under his breath.

“That’s one of the important parts. Getting out of the fucking cages is a very important part” she whispers to him, trying not to let any of the guards hear her. 

“I’ll figure something out” he whispers back. “God I’m so fucking stupid” he mutters to himself.

Paige looks around her cage, trying to find any opening, anything that’ll aid them out of this shithole. 

Kate is half ways to the wolves den. When she finally arrives, she climbs up the grassy like mountain, and sees that the bunker door is open.

As she gets closer she hears voices coming from the inside, and one of them is definitely a female, and the other two are male most likely Eli and Wheaty.

She slowly walks down the stairs trying not to alert them.

“Hello? Eli?” she says in a calming but somewhat stern voice.

She makes it down the stairs, her and Wheaty almost collide with each other.

“Hey Kate” he says in a “trying to sound nervous” voice.

“Hey Wheaty” she says back. She steps further into the bunker, and sees Eli, and Tammy. 

Bummed because she really thought she heard her mom’s voice moments ago, and she saw her on one of Jacob’s cameras an hour earlier.

“Hey Kate, do you need anything?” Eli asks with a concerned look on his face. 

She awkwardly scratches the back of her head, and says “Umm, this is gonna sound weird but umm. I was able to hack into Jacob’s cameras that he has set up around the region, and while flipping through the cameras. I uhh” she stumbles on the last part.

“You didn’t see anything off putting right?? Wheaty asks, somewhat embarrassed. 

Tammy and Eli look at him with disgusted looks on their faces. 

Kate just looks at him confused, shaking her head “no”. 

“What did you see?” Tammy asks, turning back to Kate

“I saw something. Well someone who looked familiar, and I haven’t seen in years”

As she’s talking to them, Mandy walks back into the room looking down at her phone.

“Hey guys, so are we-” she gets cuts off. 

“Mom!!!” Kate exclaims, causing Eli and Wheaty to jump. 

Mandy looks up, and she drops her phone in a dramatic form.

Tears start to form in Kate’s eyes.

“Katella?” Mandy says softly, getting choked up. 

Kate slowly runs into her mother's arms, both of them crying ugly.

Tammy, Eli and Wheaty leave the room to give them some space. 

They pull away after a few minutes.

“Where have you been?” Kate asks, with a raspy voice. 

“Saving people, hunting things, the family business. Looking for the demon who killed your father” she whispers the last part.

“Why didn’t you visit us when we were in Jackson?” she asks.

“Legally I wasn’t allowed to, and also I had too many people on my ass. I didn’t want you or your sister getting hurt”. 

They both look down at the floor, before she asks.

“Where is your sister?” 

Paige, Ryan and all the other prisoners sitting in their cages, listening to Jacob ramble on. Mainly Jacob’s attention is on Paige, like always, it's always on Paige and no one else.

She’s waiting for him to pull out that damn music box, and have her kill people again. 

He continues his speech to the prisoners. 

“You see this whole thing. 

It's gonna show you where you stand in this world.

You'll know your purpose, it's either dead or with the Project”

He continues but he looks over at Paige while saying this.

“You will say where you stand. You will decide who lives, and who dies.

It’s your choice. You decide. The blood is on your hands”

She stares at him with intense eyes. 

He slowly stands up, and reaches into his jacket pocket.

Paige and Ryan quickly exchange glances, realizing their plan to escape is ruined.

They turn their heads forward, she hears Jacob turn the handle of the music box, she closes her eyes, mentally and physically prepares herself for the painful headache, and the thought that she might kill her new friend in the trials. That was her only way out. 

“Only Yooooouuuuu”

Looking down at the floor, trying to figure out how to tell her mom that Paige was taken by the Cult.

“Katella, where’s Paige?” she asks

“She’s uhh” she stumbles over her words when Eli steps in and says

“She was kidnapped by the Cult, and she’s being held by Jacob Seed”

Mandy looks at him in shock, shaking her head.

“No, no, no, no” she says, panicking.

“Mom?” Kate asks worried. 

“That bastard has Paige” she says, almost hyperventilating. 

She drops to the floor, her hands on her head, and feeling the urge to vomit.

Her mood instantly changes from panic to anger. 

“I’m gonna fucking kill that asshole” she says furiously. 

Kate helps her up, and sits on the arm of the couch.

Kate’s phone rings. “I’ll be back” she says.

Stepping out of the room, she answers her phone. 

“Hey” she says.

“Kate where are you??” Kenny asks from the other end. 

“I had to go do something” she answers.

It's like a lightbulb went off in Kenny’s head.

“You better not be at St. Francis by yourself!!” he raises his voice. 

“I’m not, I’m not okay. I just had to go find someone. It's very personal” she says. 

“Personal? What do you mean personal?” he asks, getting annoyed. 

She can hear the annoyance growing in his voice, and she somewhat snaps at him.

“Did you have a stroke? Personal as in my own grown up personal I don’t know crap”

If she could see through her phone she’s pretty sure Kenny looks offended but she’s too happy to see her mother to give a fuck, and she hangs up her phone. She sighs, and turns around. 

Not realizing Wheaty walked in, standing 5 feet behind her, and overheard her end of the conversation.

“Hey, is everything okay?” he asks, concerned.

She nods her head “Yeah that was just my brother in law. He thought I was at St. Francis by myself”. She sits down on a table.

He nods, and sits next to her. 

”Are you planning on going to St. Francis to get your sister?” he asks. 

“Yeah me, Kenny and a few others were gonna break in. Through a tunnel that runs underneath the Veteran’s Centre” she replies. 

She can feel the awkwardness between her and Wheaty. She knows he likes her but she is terrible when it comes to reading those types of signs.

She clears her throat, and says “We were, uhh, supposed to go later today, maybe tomorrow. But after getting my mom back, I’m sure she should want to meet them first. Or maybe I can surprise them with Paige and my mom” she says, trying to keep her breathing steady.

He puts his hand over hers, and says “I think you should surprise them with her”. 

She nods her head, and says. 

“Yeah, I think I’ll do that. Kenny is gonna… he’s gonna be so happy when he sees her”

As she’s talking, Wheaty just stares at her in admiration, not hearing a single word she says. 

“But I’m sure, 100% he’s gonna want to rip his head off” she finishes. 

He snaps out of his trance, and says “Yeah, yeah absolutely”. 

She smiles at him, and looks down at their hands. His hand is still on top of hers.

He quickly moves it, somewhat embarrassed, she gets up from the table and says.

“I’m gonna go check on my mom”, 

Before she leaves the room, she turns to Wheaty and says.

“And Wheaty?”

He looks up at her.

“You don’t have to be nervous around me” she says with a smile, and she leaves the room.

She goes back to her mom.

Her, Tammy and Eli are going over a plan. “What’s this?” she asks. 

“We’re getting Paige back” Mandy says.

“When? Right now?” she asks. 

“Yes” she responds.

She stands next to her mom, and looks at the map of the Veteran’s Centre.

“So if we get a bunch of our men, the Resistance, and the Cougars. That’ll be enough to bring Jacob’s army” Eli says. 

“Okay we have everything ready right?” Mandy asks. 

“Yeah, we have the guns, ammo, throwables, and explosives enough for everyone” Wheaty answers. 

“Okay, good” Mandy responds.

“How are you guys getting in?” Kate asks.

“Through the front gate of course” Tammy answers.

“You guys are gonna go in, and get detected?” she asks

“That's our only way in” Eli says. 

“Actually Kate told me there’s a tunnel that runs underneath the VC” Wheaty says.

Eli, and Tammy look over at her. 

“Really?” he asks.

She nods her head, “Yeah it starts 1.5 miles away from the Centre, starting from the Northeast”

“But if she’s outside in the cages it's better to go through the front gate” Tammy says.

Kate agrees it’ll be easier to get Paige, and get the fuck out of there. 

They go over the plan again, and then they leave for the Veteran’s centre.

Guns, ammo and everything else all set, and ready to go. 

Kate texts Kenny saying “I’ll be home in a bit”, and sends it. 

Thinking that’ll be her final words to him. She doesn’t know if she’ll come out of this alive.

Her, Mandy, Eli and Wheaty leave in one of the militia’s trucks.

Eli driving, Mandy in the passenger, Kate and Wheaty in the backseats.

He can tell Kate is tense about all this.

He places his hand over hers, hoping it”ll calm her down. 

It helps a little.

4 other militia trucks follow behind, and a few planes above them. 

Paige goes through the trials once again, and wakes up her cage.

She shoots up and looks over at the next cage. 

She is relieved to see Ryan is still alive.

She hears Jacob’s chuckle next to her. She turns her head, staring at him angrily.

He says. 

“You’re little friend there took one Hell of a beating. I’m surprised he held on that long. He won’t next time though”.

She hears planes flying in the distance, and they shoot at the front gate of the Veteran’s centre. 

Jacob quickly gets up, and runs inside the facility.

The sound of machine guns and explosives make her ears ring. 

One explosive goes off in front of her cage. Luckily she didn’t sustain any injuries,

“What’s the fuck going on!?!?!” Ryan yells out.

Paige can’t even hear anything, her vision is all fucked up, smoke clouds are all over the place. Gun fire, dead bodies of peggies everywhere. She sees a truck pull up in front of her cage, and sees someone break the lock and does the same to the other cages.

Her vision still blurry, she couldn't recognize the face of her little sister.

“Paige!! Paige!!!!” she yells. Her vision goes clear, and tears immediately form in her eyes.

“Kate!?!?!?!” she yells over the sound of gun fire, and people yelling.

Dan Pierce (It Lives In The Woods)

You like horror? Listen... the boy has more than enough in his life to provide you, you’ll never be not entertained with Dan as a boyfriend. The thing is, he hates horror. It reminds him too much of all the traumatic events that he had to go through in his childhood with Redfield, and Jane’s death. So you promise to be his knight in shining armor as soon as things get ugly, or whenever you have to get a little too close to the forest. But everything is not terror and smashing vine creatures with barbed-wire bats with Dan! Actually, most of your relationship is pretty lowkey and tranquil. You can even have a smug smile when you pass them by in the hallways, as a treat.

I think Dan would really enjoy theater as well, because it allows him to express himself in a way he didn’t think of before. Morphing into another character somehow relieves the pain of being in his own skin, if only temporarily. You would audition for plays together, and the drama teacher would be of terrible bad faith if she denied your chemistry, so you often get the lead roles when there’s a romance element to the story.

Needless to say, you’re very committed to all your roles; so much so that even your friends struggle to recognize you two when you’re onstage. You, however, know exactly who you’re talking to. It would be difficult to ignore the intensity in Dan’s gaze when he’s proclaiming his love to you, staged tirade or not...

Dan is always sincere with you, anyway. You know it in his actions, in his words, in his whispered ‘I love you’s and his hugs... you couldn’t doubt his feelings even if you wanted.

Severus Snape (Marauders Era)

ok so we’re going for a version of Snape who is neither an absolute douchebag nor a bigot and just an emo kid who’s desperately longing to be loved because I can definitely see you with a person of this sort - a sweet Severus who’s just a tad (okay, a lot) awkward, but who has clear interests and opens up like a bright star.

He starts to love and appreciate magical creatures so much more when you show your interest for them. To him, because he grew up immersed in the wizarding world, they were always little animals that he saw in picture books growing up, and he never gave them much thought. But with how much you care for them, he starts to see them under a new light. You often stay in the safe parts of the woods after classes, helping the Professor with feeding the creatures and nursing the wounded, and that’s how you capture his attention. He wonders about the girl who always remains behind instead of walking up to the castle. One time - he doesn’t even know why himself -, he volunteers to help as well. In reality, he wants to start a conversation with you, and doesn’t know how otherwise. The way you treat all creatures, no matter how fearsome or frightened they may appear, tells a lot about your gentleness towards other humans, he reckons. It gives him hope for himself... because, whether he likes it or not, he’s falling for you, hard and fast.

He’ll finally grow the courage to actually talk to you once more when he sees you reading a fantasy book that he loved. He’s itching to walk up to you and discuss the book and your thoughts on it, but he can’t figure out for the life of him how others might do that effortlessly. What if you laugh at him? What if you just stare him down and then flat out ignore him? What if-- and before he’s realized, he’s standing right in front of you, and you’re looking up at him with a questioning look. It takes him several attempts and panicked stammering before he gets it out. You think it a little weird at first, but you quickly realize he’s not a bad guy, he’s just very very shy... and very very passionate about that book you’re reading. That’s how your first actual conversation begins. Paving the way for many more to come...

Isn't it cute how we keep finding RL parallels to show that what they're doing with Destiel is a Romance with a capital R, and now the show itself used Destiel as a parallel to show that Saileen is a romance (even tho everyone already knew That)? And they'll come back to eachother eventually? Wow. I hope I got my point across, but this thought hasn't left me since the "What's real?" "This is." convo between Sam and Eileen. Two sister ships are driving this season, and I'm all here for it.

Yeah.

The fandom result is less fun, with people calling text subtext because they simply don’t understand the text’s merit (eg, Last Call) that was settled long before anybody in this fandom considered themselves a genius to try to argue circles around it. Like Y2K called it wants to update fandom on some LGBT issues already settled. Oz was… what? 1997-2003? (Which is when Bobo ended up writing his LGBT rep sociopolitical commentary?)

The show has me ecstatic. The fandom has me reeling in horror in how willfully LGBT people have coded themselves into a performative-to-het-demands-culture that they’ll talk down content and structure used for romantic het pairings even when it’s front and center. 

This isn’t the world of subtextual secret handshakes anymore, guys. I don’t know if meta fandom is reeling on what an actual Will They/Won’t They looks like as opposed to, yes, S7 wallpapers or fish or whatever rando shit got chased as a stream; or even compared to lowkey structural subtext like Colette which hid so many layers beneath the surface that it needed to be actively negotiated and tracked. 

Not front, textual assertions that Dean does in fact have Oz-esque group encounters beyond even Deanmon, that he alone had to bury Cas and burying Eileen was the same for Sam, only to turn around and have them mirror shit and truncate their emotional adventure with a kiss and fandom’s out here footstomping and invalidating the text level bullshit because it’s not said how they want, when they want. 

Like guys that shit is text. People not understanding the text does not make it non-text. Whether or not you know your LGBT history and intersectional issues (or have modernly soaked dialogue from alt right platforms that XYZ isn’t gay if you yell no homo, since there’s even parts of the world where men identify “straight” despite routinely pursuing sex with men and abandoning women that FOR SOME REASON PEOPLE HERE CATER TO THE DIALOGUES OF) – whether you know any of this, whether you UNDERSTAND this – the information still exists. 

People still try to explain that the earth is flat instead of round because they don’t understand science, or evolution for the same reason. That doesn’t mean there’s actually reasonable permissive argument here. In fact, it’s embarrassing as fuck to watch anyone hold one of these arguments. People not understanding material does not invalidate what the material actually means.

And seriously like– “WE WANT–” … what, a love confession or a kiss, I guess. All the other goalposts that were set up were blown by. The former love yous and similar phrasings (I guess we’re herding love affirmations into ONLY three specific words and otherwise it’s not valid, because… Magic Meta Gay People Rules) weren’t enough! And! AND! Even the ones that WERE those three words, people could arGUE!!! It might not be gaY!!!

So let’s be honest bitters & meta fandom & alternate shippers having sixteen jealousy fits: You don’t even want an I Love You, because it would have to be “I love you, and like, only you, romantically, like in love with you, in the gay way, let’s go have gay sex” for this to pacify this utterly homophobic ball of bullshit they have going on.

So we’ll be honest. You want a kiss.

That’s great. I do too.

At the same time, I can gesture you to a literally endless amount of history where literature and TV did not require a kiss for the romantic content to be valid and even celebrated.

That’s not what magically makes all the text text. The text is the text.

The subtext is elements like Reno, and Mary/John, or Amara/Chuck, and even those are loud as FUCK still. Ironically, *the text is quieter than the subtext right now*

If you take the text: Dean has repeat group encounters that are decades-ago LGBT qualified as queer; Dean loses all hope without Cas, once he has to bury Cas, and Eileen does the same for Sam.

The subtext of this: Dean actually forgot an entire woman in his tryst, which means she wasn’t a focus, which makes this gayer than the default gay text; Dean yet again followed viking widower tradition with Cas as a spouse and buried him himself.

This is literally “Cas is Dean’s Collette” but 1. fully textual instead of 3 levels under and 2. much more personal with a full character we witnessed with Eileen rather than flashbacks of Colette for a few seconds. The text here has subtext. It is text. Whether people understand the text, like the LGBT issues around 15.07 or not is an onus on them, but does not invalidate the content. People not understanding Gays doesn’t delete Gays, that isn’t how that works.

Because the hilarity of the line people trying to keep their blogs valid at– that they’re running? All text is subtext unless all text is explained unto a point that it can’t be argued, but that of course leaves the explanation subtext until it, too, is explained beyond a shadow of a doubt to children, and then so on, ad infinity, in a quantum loop of calling everything under god’s written heaven subtext.

I had a conversation with a meta writer who won’t be named that went full bore in a loop. They called it subtext. I pointed out where it was flat surface text. Yes, they said, that IS text, but people can still argue, so that makes it subtext. Uh, no, I pointed out, that isn’t how this works or what those words mean, someone’s understanding of the meaning of text does not invalidate the actual meaning the words have. Arguing with a phantom menace of a GA that’s all catching on right now to contend with tinhatters and a few other oddballs out there that are hilariously small and not in the GA eye isn’t worth changing the entire dictionary. Because The Dictionary Is A Good Book. If someone doesn’t understand all the words in the dictionary and what they mean that, also, does not invalidate the dictionary if it doesn’t have an infinite set of asterisks defining every definition. Anyway, said meta person completely went postal about it after that because after trying to loop the same argument three times and realizing They Will Always End Up Here, off they went when I said that arguing with idiots online wasn’t worth demolishing the dictionary, media study, or queer content.

AV medium seems to be confusing the fuck out of people that fancy themselves or are even degreed lit savants.

But hey, maybe there’s a ruse being played. Maybe Bobo already got that lucky corporate dice roll and is playing into his thematic structure. Maybe he will manage to break through with a kiss. Maybe, maybe, maybe. 

Frankly more than to argue with idiots, I kind of want it to exemplify the gross homophobia going on in this fandom. And I don’t mean antis. I mean every single person, right here and right now, redefining things to maintain their hysteria and anger or even just their general relevance/podium that evaporates if they acknowledge that it is what it is; that every bit of queer text AND subtext they talked down and deleted and tried to wedge into “platonic” boxes due to their own lack of LGBT cultural understanding was real, and valid, and while antis screamed and shouted raging at the text as provided, they were the ones there, being enemies this year, deleting queer content until their arbitrary goalpost, fulfilling as it may be, and as much as I personally want it too, was met. But if that happens, IF that happens, it WILL be by Bobo’s hand or Dabb’s with Bobo’s guidance, and I can PROMISE you he will make it such a sociopolitical commentary on the heteronormative bullshit going on (like his DreamHunter commentary that BLEW BY everyone) that I expect several people to delete their damn accounts in mortal embarrassment.

This season is gorgeous everyone. Enjoy it.

For the record, if that million to one shot is on the table, the episode everyone should watch for results, beyond the finale, is 15.18. I’m not gonna get into all the reasons here beyond Putrefaction/Blackening > Whitening > Yellowing > Reddening = Gold and if anybody wants to know what the fuck I mean by that, send me an ask. (I’m working on a Putrefaction video to plug into my series to help with that. And beyond that pacing, structure, rhythm, and Bobo. But that also does not mean anyone should seriously place their emotional chips on it, just to stop getting cranked up and demanding THIS NEXT EPISODE OR PERISH.)

Because if you think there’s ever a point homophobes are gonna stop arguing shit down, you’re in for a bad time. Straight pairs like Mulder/Scully that kissed got no romos mental gymnasticsing around it. If you expect differently with DeanCas you’re IN FOR A RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDE

But I don’t want to hear one more goddamn peep about representation from that wing of meta fandom. The representation is there, front and center, to relate to for the intended demographic, it just wasn’t what other demographics wanted. But it’s written by a middle aged LGBT man for middle aged LGBT men and if you aren’t in that bracket, and don’t like the results, you don’t get to go and try to destroy that representative material. Hell if you ARE in that demographic you don’t get to one-card steam roll over other LGBT men too, the way it works from there is you find other people in that demographic and discuss the content’s pros and cons. If it ends at “not the ship I like” instead of genuine problems with the content, you also don’t get to destroy that for other people in the demographic. So whether it’s like, desperate clout/platform/relevance clinging, or just complete lack of understanding of LGBT media history and the represented demographic, that shit needs to stop. Pick a side. 

You can’t genuinely fight for representation while going and kicking down rep sandcastles because they weren’t shaped how you want. That isn’t how it works. It works by owning the content, and requesting better or more. Requesting more explicit content does not require destroying the content you don’t consider “enough”, in front of you.

Overt queer subtext AND text remain an overt body within the text even if it does not reach a given explicit landmark that you personally have decided on and is 0% dependent on anyone’s understanding of the fucking content.

Alfion - Therion x Alfyn Greengrass (Octopath Traveler) : Similar trope to Fair Game honestly, just with a lot more emotional damage. I particularly like the idea that Alfyn sees this very damaged, closed-off man and is like “I’m gonna be his friend” and then it slips into more as Therion opens up to him slowly but surely.

Fair Game - Qrow Branwen x Clover Ebi (RWBY) : There’s so much chemistry here and they both trust each other so much and I just want them to be happy together. Qrow needs the support of someone he can trust, and Clover needs someone to show him an alternative to his military by-the-books career. Very excited to see how the next episode affects them.

Jam - Jay Merrick x Tim Wright (Marble Hornets) : I like to pretend I live in a world where the Operator did not ruin everything for these men, but unfortunately it did. Traveling together under all that stress, I imagine they would’ve gotten close, even just as friends. They just needed the support of someone else and they could only really confide in each other about what was happening to them.

Ironstrange - Tony Stark x Stephen Strange (Marvel) : I just really liked their dynamic in Infinity War. Too bad Endgame happened.

Seamonkeys - Sun Wukong x Neptune Vasilias (RWBY) : Honestly just sort of a guilty pleasure. I have a lot of headcanons about them since Neptune hardly has a personality in the show. 😔

Series

Marble Hornets - It’s confusing as hell at first, so I recommend watching with a buddy, but it’s so... good? It was one of the first Slenderverse ARGs and it’s just kind of a classic. It gets really dark, though, just warning.

Pokémon - This one has been a big special interest of mine since I was very young so I care a lot about it. It holds a lot of nostalgic value for me, and it’s a fun way to connect with my friends my age now.

RWBY - While the first volume is kind of... shaky... once the story picked up in Volume 2 I was hooked. I’m especially impressed with Volume 7 so far!

Legend of Zelda - It’s a series of video games. It counts. Anyway, I love LoZ a lot, but ESPECIALLY Twilight Princess which was the first game I ever played from the series. There’s a lot of nostalgia I get from the early games since I played them on my old Wii and Nintendo 64...

High Hopes, Low Rolls - This is kind of a newer one, and there’s not much of it out, but it’s a D&D story with animated videos! Most if not all the art for it was done by the incredible @/abd-illustrates! There’s a lot of potential in this one! I’m lowkey kinda really in love with Paddy Whitlaw, one of the main characters.
