Panel one has a speech balloon from Kakashi that says "It was like you were numb?" In the image, Tenzō's eyes are for a moment grey and there is a large jolt in the shivers beside him, depicting his shock at the question.

Panel two is a closeup on Kakashi that doesn't show his face, only his hand as he brings it up to support his chin and cheek. "You can tell me if I sound like I'm full of shit," Kakashi says, "But I don't think this happened because you're a bad Anbu, or unfit for active duty." Panel three spreads across the full page, and is much paler, using the paper of the page as a background, with Kakashi's image bordered not by lines but partially hidden by the panels around him. He continues, "My guess is that you probably went numb to protect yourself on a mission, all the while bottling up everything subconsciously. Then, you come home to Konoha, where you can let your guard down."

Panel Four shows Tenzō, sitting stiff and silent and small in the frame of the image and somewhere between concerned and terrified. Kakashi's speech balloons weave into the space around him, dodging behind and in front of him. "But sometimes your guard might be the only thing holding back all this shit," Kakashi says. "So when it comes down, you get washed away. By the fear of the lab, fear of the hospital, whatever pile of medical anxiety you've been accumulating."

I'm pretty sure I'm being influenced by Lucky's head design when drawing Marshall. Y'know, that pup from 101 Dalmatians, the cartoon series (not talking about the 101 Dalmatian Street series, I'm talking about the OG cartoon).

Part of me wants to fix that and try to make him look a bit more like in the movies, other part of me finds it cooler like this to draw different expressions and ears positions. Now Idk what to do anymore lol

Gotham Museums

I'm going to claim that Gotham, with all of its dramatic architecture and general theatricality, has a very strong art scene. In an effort to curb the doctorate students from going off the deep end, Gotham invests pretty heavily into the arts. It backfires a bit because Mad Hatter but it was a worthy attempt.

That being said, there are a lot of rich people in Gotham, rich people who might be willing to patronize Gotham based artists. And among artists, a common exercise to develop their artistic skills would be to copy the great masters that came before them. Of course the students don't go out of their way to make their copies into real forgeries. That would be wrong. But sometimes you just have to try painting Starry Night using the same sort of paint that would have been used by Van Gogh, you know? And it's surprisingly easy to find poplar wood, lead based paint, badger fur paint brushes, and other period appropriate materials to use in the various art stores in Gotham.

However, this is Gotham.

Every art museum in Gotham contains, at minimum, one forgery of some famous piece of art. The Mona Lisa briefly went missing from the Louvre and it popped up in a Gotham museum.

And it was also found in a second Gotham museum.

And a third.

And then the Mona Lisa was suddenly back on the wall in the Louvre as though it had never been moved.

Only one of the Mona Lisas found in Gotham was proven to be a forgery because the art student who created it incorporated their signature into the work. That student received a significant number of commissions after they were questioned by various authorities. The museums in Gotham still maintain that they have the real Mona Lisa in their possession.

The same thing has happened to nearly every major work of art in the world and many minor ones as well. What is perceived to be the original will briefly disappear from its location. Then a copy or multiple copies and something that might be the original all pop up in various museums in Gotham. The stolen piece of art will then suddenly reappear either in the museum it was stolen from or in an equally prestigious museum in the work of art's country of origin.

It's become very trendy in Gotham to have at least one replica painting or piece of jewelry, or pottery, or whatever made by the artist who had their copy featured among the other versions of the work of art.

Who is the one who does this? No one knows. Art historians, art experts, every government in the world, and museum curators are going nuts. Artists are making bank. And there is a museum in Gotham that boasts the Mona Lisa, the Declaration of Independence, the phoenix crown, kusanagi, Elgin marbles, and several thought to be lost Fabergé eggs. This museum insists that every piece is completely authentic and no they aren't going to give them back.

in an effort to rest my left hand from typing and also my usual exercises in doing random shit I don't have a lot of experience with, I have exported some .bmps and used the auto-tracer in inkscape (which i have done before for other things) so that i can turn this logo into an svg file with consistent angles and, you know, resizeability and sleekness.

The main thing I'm doing here is cleaning it up (fixing the angles in particular) and then I have to figure out how I want to do the shapes for the flame colors, which I'll probably do manually cause the color quantization tracing mode doesn't quite do what I need it to do lol

I don't even know if Seth is going to definitely be called Scratch (have been spitballing a variety of vigilante-friendly names in my notes) so I probably shouldn't be putting the effort into this on the off chance they end up called something like Aetherflame instead (lol) (like actually that's one of the names in my list) but this is the logo I have, so, you know.
