My art resolutions for 2024:

Get good at drawing boys not just passable good but like Good

Be funnier

Make more comics(especially funny ones)

Start a webcomic

Be more balletcore (u can’t really see this one but just like in vibes)

Thats all i can think of right now, ill reblog and add more if i think of any

2024 Art Resolutions

I happened to woke up pretty early and didn't felt asleep after did my morning prayer (it's 5:45 as I'm writing now) so I'm gonna write this down now as it's still remain fresh in my brain!

1. This year I actually have allocate my focus on local artist alley event (Comifuro) that'll be held on mid May, so the first quarter is rather focusing on merch design production! So far I usually only dealing with local customer, but I'm truly hoping I could sell my merchandise overseas as well ^^

2. I've been planning to focus on creating comic this year, so I intent to improve my manga illustration style and my storytelling skills. This could only means I'll post less casual illustration contents and that's okay. I've been aware my writing skills is pretty ugly, supported by my weakness in visualizing emotions on characters, so these two particular things always holding me back from making a comic. But I also realized if I never expose those ugly writings, I'll never get there? So yeah, I will learn to post comic with ugly storylines to the point I remains creating but with a better story qualities!

3. Related to the comic goals part, for starter, I'm not going to immediately post a whole story. I might starts lightly by posting 4 panels comic, then gradually upgrade to something short around 4-8 pages and so on. And I've considered this platform is perfect for comic posting with all this neat tagging system, so yeah! Let's do it!

4. I'm might sounds ambitious for this, but I want to create a fancomic/zine by the end of the year and sell them on local artist alley. Please pray for me ><

5. Be humble with my works in progress. The way this means is that sometimes some artwork just better remain in 'unfinished' state. It doesn't have be always finished and polished. Sometimes its form of rough sketches or unfinished colors looks better than any other options. I learned this in a hardest way possible, as even if I don't make a lot of polished art, I want to remind myself that I'm still valid as an artists as I'm still creating.

6. This one's related with my comic goals, which is I want to read more fanfic / books and keep in track of the fic/books I've read in a reading journal (which I already own one). There's no specific amount of how much works I should read, but I think it'll be great or satisfying to know how many words/works I've consumed in a year haha.

Wrapping up this post, all the things I've mentioned in this post might happen or not, or even getting adjusted, depends on how my life goes with its unexpected opportunities. As usual, even if things not happening the way I wish, usually there are other good achievement I manage to gain or learned from.

Last but not least, I wish everyone a blissful 2024 ahead~!

2023 is here and I want to start it with planning which I would like to call "art wishes" instead because it's almost impossible to stick to any plans in today's unstable world, especially if there is limited time for personal projects. I don't want to push myself and I would consider the year successful if at least 2 projects are finished. I like the recent trend of being kind to yourself ^^ Since I'm in love with Blender and want to create grease pencil sketches, it would be great to prepare body samples to build new characters more quickly, it's my first priority now. Next is Piko and I would be happy to create a friend for Piko (a girl) this year. The mouse story still has to be finished, which is hard when new ideas come up so often. I want to do everything at the same time, smart people call it shiny object syndrome. I also would like to make a new animation for my portfolio. Well, let's see how it goes.

My 2024 resolution is learning how to draw fancy and expensive clothes so I can draw them tightly clinging to hot characters.

The dick bulges and shapely asses in suit pants, pecs and tits threatening to pop dresshirt buttons, and maybe even dunk some water on for WET CLOTHING

New Years art resolutions:

Develop new coloring techniques and try and steer away from simple cell shading.

Work on backgrounds. I’d love to work on a few pieces that are simply landscapes, buildings, rooms, ect.

Fine tune they style I’m going for

Hands. While I have significantly improved in doing hands, I’d like them to be more detailed.

Clothes. God I hate drawing clothes, but it’s something I need to practice until I don’t hate doing it anymore.

Maybe become confident enough to start doing commissioned work or even collaborations with others by the end of the year

Work on my line art. I’ve had a few pieces where I felt my line art was 🔥, but more often than not I feel it’s very shaky. Work on line weight

Unrelated from drawing, I’d like to get back into crocheting amigaruimi and maybe make my own patterns.

I’d also like trying to write a fanfiction. I started one for Christmas but I was becoming overwhelmed by everything I was trying to do all at once so I stepped away from it.

I think this is a good list, and is practical and not too critical on myself

Because it's almost the new year, I've decided to make some art resolutions for 2023.

Not be a lazy artist

To try and finish a piece that I start

To study and learn more from people who actually know more than me

To create more art that is important to me and not just this blog (a comic or a series of illustrations to go with my novel)

I think by doing all of this my art will definitely improve. Especially the first two. I've found, from my art recently, that I do a lot of art I'm comfortable with. Like, with Katara. I know how to draw Katara. I'm very comfortable drawing Katara. I don't put a lot of effort into drawing her like I would if I was drawing someone like Asami or Lin. I also don't put backgrounds on if I can help it. For the dancing poses one I don't really need to because I'm going for bright colours on a dark background, but more often than not I've found myself giving up on the backgrounds and just posting the half finished drawing I made instead of continuing on and trying to learn how to do what I'm finding difficult. For example, with the dancing calendar, I actually drew Ty Lee before I started on Azula and Jinora. I chose a difficult pose that suited her really well, but I found the pose a bit too difficult to figure out to translate into my art and I gave up and drew Azula instead. I need to not do that anymore. I think I've been holding myself back from evolving as an artist and it's time to stop and it's time for my art to get ugly for a while.
