Happy FFWF! 💖

Um… I’m going to cheat and say one for romantic ships, and one for platonic ships 😏

For romantic ships, my favourite has to be Mutual Pining. I love reading about two oblivious idiots whose feelings for each other are so obvious to everyone but them 😆

For platonic ships, my fave is Hurt/ Comfort. There’s just something so special about the perfect hurt followed by the perfect comfort 😎

Thank you so much for the ask! 😊

Hey! Happy FFWF! 💖

Oh, I love this question!!

The short answer is yes 😉. For example, I never intended my Pieces of Echoes fic to become a full-fledged series, and now I’m six fics in and plotting more 😆. Mostly because my awesome readers sent me asks about this and that, but also because I adore that universe and don’t want to give it up.

My fic The Phoenix Project was originally intended to have a lot more romantic angst than it ended up having, including Steve deciding to break up with Tony right before the big mission 😬. But I just couldn’t do it. I like to say that my characters sometimes write themselves, and I just couldn’t turn Steve into the jerk that a scene like that would have required, so I went a completely different direction.

And, probably my most 😬, I toyed with the idea of having Stony be endgame in my Sins of the Fathers fic. It was actually that aspect that led me to write Pieces of Echoes. While I like Pepper as a person, I’m not a fan of her and Tony’s relationship and I personally find her difficult to write. Superfamily is my OTP 💖

Hey! Happy FFWF!

Why fanfiction? Heh heh, why not? 😉

Seriously though, there’s not a single book, series, or film that I’ve read or watched where I haven’t asked myself at least once, “what if…?” And that, my friends, tends to lead to fanfiction 😎.

Hey! Happy FFWF! 😊

I actually use italics quite a bit in my fics, usually to emphasise certain words, as expressions, as internal dialogue, and also to indicate when someone is experiencing a dream or nightmare (which is pretty much another form of internal dialogue). I’m pretty sure I haven’t used strikethrough or underlines, and I may have used bolds once or twice, but I don’t remember where at the moment 😆.

I think these tools can be effective if they’re not overused.

Hey! Happy FFWF! 💖

If you’re talking about the specific writing process, I’d have to say editing is my favourite part. Tweaking my words just right so that I can hear them in the character’s voices is something I usually really enjoy.

In general, I’d have to say meeting so many other authors! The Iron Dad fandom is full of some really awesome people, and I’m thrilled to know you guys 💖.

Hey! Happy FFWF! 💖

I adore metaphors! I’ve used the phoenix metaphor a few times in various stories, most recently a bit more on the nose in my fic The Phoenix Project.

The titles of my big superfamily fics are somewhat metaphorical as well. Pieces of Echoes refers to what Steve was hearing while he was frozen in the ice, as he was asleep, but occasionally has memories of being frozen (yikes!). It also refers to Peter’s journey back to consciousness during his comatose period at the end of the story, when he uses the two distinct heartbeat sounds of his dads to guide him back.

Chasing Demons refers to Steve’s struggle with his severe PTSD, and his obsession with HYDRA and its destruction, while Continuum is my IW/ Endgame AU. Continuum can be a synonym for infinity, which is why I chose that title 🤓

I’m not sure I can pick a favourite! If I absolutely had to, I think it would be the pieces of echoes 😊.

Hey sweet friend! Happy FFWF! 💖

Oh, such awesome questions! Let’s see…

Best characterisation I’d have to go with What’s In A Name?. This was my first time writing Tony with a baby Peter, and trying to capture the emotional upheaval he was going through as he was trying to nurse a broken heart (badly), and then discovering that he has a son, and one who’s very sick… it wasn’t easy. I drew quite a bit on my experience working in the NICU for this story 🤓.

Which fic do I wish got more attention? I think I’d go with my most recent completed superfamily fic The Phoenix Project. This was my first time venturing out of MCU canonverse, and I’m actually pretty proud of the plot I came up with. I also managed to find a few people who love Stargate as much as I do 😆.

Which fic am I most proud of? Ohh, that’s tough! I think I’m going to go with Chasing Demons, the second multi-chapter in my Pieces of Echoes series. I don’t see too many superfamily fics that focus much on Steve’s trauma, or his obsession with bringing down HYDRA, which we saw a bit in TWS.

Thank you so much for the ask! This was fun! 💖

Hey! Happy FFWF! 💖

I love fic exchanges, and have participated in a few in the last couple of years. I recently signed up for the Irondad fic exchange as I had a great time participating in it last year 😊.

I also love the thought of gifting someone a fic. I’ve been on the receiving end of some really lovely stories, and I love when I can do the same 💖.

Prompts are a bit more tricky. If it’s a prompt that relates to a story I’m currently writing or one of my AU universes, then I’m usually all over it. Otherwise, I’ve gotten a few odd ones in the past, so I don’t actively seek out prompts very often.

Hey! Happy FFWF! Thank you so much for the ask! 💖

Oh boy, this is hard! I am most definitely my own worst critic, but these are a couple of snippets that I’m proud of.

From my superfamily story Pieces of Echoes, after Tony and Steve spend their first night together:

And when they were finished, their bodies sated and spent, after they’d stumbled into the shower to get cleaned up and changed the torn sheets on the bed, they laid down on the fresh blankets with Steve’s strong arm wrapped around Tony, with his back pressed right up against Steve’s broad chest and Steve’s breath warm against his neck as he drifted off to sleep.

And when the nightmares came, as they inevitably did, instead of suddenly jerking awake and finding himself frightened and alone, Tony instead felt Steve’s hand slide gently up his body, cupping his shoulder as he whispered into his ear, “It’s all right, Tony. I’m here.”

I like this because aside from Peter, Tony has been alone. He’s never had a relationship that’s lasted longer than a few months, or where he felt truly loved. And now he finally does 💖.

And from the latest chapter of my current Reylo story, The Empire Games, right before they go into the arena:

Gathering up the blankets, they rush back downstairs, slipping inside Rey’s room as quietly as possible. Then they kick off their shoes and crawl under the covers of her bed, cuddling up to each other as closely as their clothes will allow. Rey sighs as she lays her head down on Ben’s broad chest, his strong arms around her and his steady heartbeat beneath her ear already lulling her to sleep despite the impending Games looming over their heads.

“Rey,” Ben whispers a few minutes later. “Whatever happens tomorrow in the arena, I just want you to know that I—”

But once again, Rey presses her fingers to his lips to silence him. “Please, don’t. You don’t need to say anything.”

“I already know, Ben. And I feel the same.”

And then she slips off into sleep, with the words I love you echoing inside her mind, not quite sure if they’re Ben’s or hers.

Here, they’re preparing to enter the arena, and have just realised that they’ve both been hiding feelings for the other out of fear. It’s both poignant and heartbreaking, as they both know “there can only be one Victor” 😉.

2. Ben Solo

3. Jyn Erso

Honourable mention: prequel trilogy Obi-Wan Kenobi

Z. Best friendship?

I’m going to pick three for this question too 😎

1. Han and Luke

2. Poe and Finn

3. Obi-Wan and Anakin

This was so fun, thank you! 💖

Aahh, thank you so much for the ask! 💖

2. What fandoms were you a part of that you aren’t any longer?

Hmm… not sure I was ever really “a part” of the Arrow fandom, but since the show ended I don’t really participate much in any discussion about it.

All my others I’m still hanging on, so 😎

4. Are you likely to blush when a sex scene comes up or can you read/watch it with a straight face?

That depends! 😆 If it’s a couple that I like/ love, then I’ll read or watch to my heart’s content. If not, then I’ll skip over it or turn away. If it’s really hot then I definitely blush 😊

Thank you so much for the ask, this was fun! 💖

Hey! Happy FFWF! 💖

Absolutely. For The Hunger Games fandom, I often find it difficult to get inside Katniss’s head. With how unreliable she can be at times in the books and some issues I have with the movie portrayals, she’s not an easy person for me to write. I far prefer writing in Peeta’s POV.

For Marvel, while I don’t ever write in his POV, Bucky is a character I often struggle writing for. In the movies we only got a few glimpses of his real, genuine personality in The First Avenger, and while I try to extrapolate on that to fit my story, it’s definitely a challenge for me.

For Star Wars, I find it easier to write in Ben’s POV than Rey’s, but she’s still not as difficult for me as Katniss 😆

This was such a fun question @joyful-soul-collector thank you! 💖

Aahh!! I wish I could reach through my iPad and give you a huge hug! 💖 And I adore my Reylo sweeties so much, they deserved so much better! 😢

I’ve actually had some ideas on how I could expand my Phoenix universe, so… we’ll see 😉 Once I finish the story I’ll see if any of my ideas take flight.

And I still can’t thank you enough for the beautiful artwork you gifted me! 😍 I’m still so in awe of your talent!

Thank you for making my morning!! 💖

Hey sweet anon! Thank you so much for the ask! 💖

I’m okay! Due to a bit of family schedule re-shuffling and a need to finish my RFFA fic before tomorrow’s deadline, I’m a bit behind on my Phoenix Project chapter this week. I should be able to post the preview soon though, within the next couple of hours, so keep an eye out for it! 😎

I hope you’re having a great day on Captain America’s birthday! 💙

Hey! Happy FFWF!

I’ve participated in a few fic exchanges for both Hunger Games and Marvel, and I’m currently racing to finish my fic for the Reylo Fanfic Anthology, so yes 😎. They are something that I usually really enjoy 💖

As for Hamilton, my family will be watching it tomorrow evening. I can’t wait!!
