Pecha

Tbh she doesn’t have a lot of control on what her face is doing. It’s a trait she inherited from her dad. When she tries to show an expression, such as smiling, it looks forced even if she is genuinely happy at the moment. She tries to keep a smile on her face most time because she doesn’t want to chase people away.

Often her face blanks without her realizing it. She’ll space out during a conversation and become very stoic faced or bored looking without meaning to. When she’s concentrating hard, her face goes between blank to glare that can kill. So during pokemon battles she either looks ready to murder you or completely unfazed by the battle…works in her favor though since it makes her hard to read.

Rawst

Has the same thing as Pecha and his dad, though he doesn’t try to force expressions. He doesn’t care if people have a hard time reading him or if he seems unfriendly. He believes it’s up to people to not make too harsh of first impressions of him.

He’s extremely blank faced while watching horror movies or playing horror games. His deadpan humor and inability to be phased by even the scariest of jumpscares is what attracts people to his streams and let’s plays. It’s hilarious watching a guy react to a creepy monster by saying “oh you silly little rascal! Come here…”

Pecha

When she used to have a battle training schedule, her first song on the playlist would be Kick in the Door by Xenia Pax and if her Pokemon hear this song they instantly go into battle mode. (From sweet house pets into battle machines lol)

Nowadays, she needs songs that get her into creating mode. Oresama- Morning Call has a nice snappy feeling to it that helps her focus on her work whether it’s making concept art or actually creating the pieces.

Rawst

He prefers soundtracks over songs with words, especially since he’s mostly trying to get pumped during a stream. Lights, Camera, Action! from Sonic Mania is a nice one to start off the stream. Any royalty free 8-bit music would be nice as well.

For more chill, just chatting streams some soundtracks like Lori M from Night in the Woods has really nice chill vibes to hang out to. (tbh I feel like this also would be kinda Rawst's theme as well. Mellow and chill.)

Pecha

Has a weakness for sweets but also a very sensitive tummy so if she overindulges, she's in pain town. She loves cakes, pies, cookies...especially home baked goods. Since she was taught by her tita to bake, it's kinda hard to avoid temptation when she knows she can just whip up her own cake or something.

ice-cream though has to take the top. So many flavors! So many toppings to add! Also romantic in a way cause you can share a milkshake with someone all cute diner style~

Rawst

Junk food eater. Eats a lot of candy. Also a freak though so his favorites are probably the extreme sour candies that would make a normal person pucker but with Rawst he has some extra citric powder that he adds to them to make them even more sour. (which if you consider that he ALSO has a sensitive stomach, he is always in pain and feeling like shit because of this)

His all time favorite is the sour gummy worms. He rolls those in the extra citric powder and eats a whole bag. Gremlin man.

Pecha

Her closet holds a secret...she has a furry suit. It's her own original character called Webby whose a Galvantula. She's got sparkles in her eyes and the main arms connect to a second lower pair of arms , having four arms like a Galvantula does. And yes. Pecha made this herself after watching tons of tutorials. She's remade and redone it for years until it looks really well made. And yes. She goes to convention incognito with it. She just likes furry stuff and thinks they're super cute! All the colors! All the cute mascots!

She doesn't like showing people due to all the stigma. If a friend or lover stumbles onto it, she'll get very embarrassed...

She really wants to make a Ribombee character next, though.

Rawst

He writes songs, poetry, and also draws people he thinks are attractive. All these journals are kept in one of his drawers at his computer desk. He's only lately started sharing some of his music online, but he'll never show off his poetry or drawings to people. They, um...hold his secret feelings for some certain people that he doesn't like to show

Might someday sing a song for his lover but that might also be something he keeps hidden away forever...

Rainbow World Episode 2 Recap

Episode 2: 

The episode starts on a wide shot of the Rainbow World school. Violet is taking selfies with her friends and everyone just seems to be hanging out with their pets. Miss Morton enters the room and tells them it is time for their first lesson, how to “create liquid rainbow portals”. We are introduced to a new area, similar to a spa/bathroom. Morton shows the girls a bathtub and asks Bella to step forward. Bella puts the “sparkle glow” from the purse into the tub. Sunny is a bit jealous that the rules of Rainbow World are coming so easily to Bella. Bella turns a wheel to release red and white colors into the tub via faucet. This makes pink of course, her signature color. Sunny asks Violet how Bella did that so quickly; it took weeks for her to get to right. Bella puts her pet into the bath and her pet becomes “filled with rainbows”. Now that it's filled with rainbows, scratching it will create a portal. Bella is eager to go to the next step. However, Miss Morton says she can't create one just yet. Bella is tempted to skip ahead but after a talk with Jade realizes it might not be the best idea. She gives her sheep a pet on the cheek and a portal accidentally opens. The pet runs in and Bella follows it. This leads both Bella and her pet into a magic forest-like environment (“the beginning of the rainbow”). Bella sings the song we saw in the teaser. Because she doesn’t have any more liquid rainbow, Bella can’t create another portal and is lost. Sunny comes through a portal and brings her and Bella back (by using liquid rainbow in her shoes, based on the slime doll). Bella confesses to Miss Morton she created a portal and jumped to the beginning of the rainbow. Miss Morton says she is very disappointed with her. Sunny is praised for helping Bella and releases a yellow glow. This creates a rainbow in the lobby. 

End of Episode 2.

Personal Notes:

Poppy remains my favorite of the team. Love the fact that she gets a shy kitten for her pet. Her squeezing the cat has good meme potential. 

Where did this world come from? Who at Rainbow High knows about it? I want some kind of explanation lol. 

Jella fans, come get your juice.

I’m not sure if it is just because of personal reasons but when Miss Morton said she was very disappointed in Bella (for something she did by accident), it made me very uncomfortable. Got secondhand embarrassment 😣.

Lemme make you a small tutorial to not look like a bot when you are liking their stuff.

HOW NOT TO LOOK LIKE A BOT

What is a bot?

A bot is an autonomous program that interact with systems and users on the internet.

On Tumblr, they may follow or like account (or send users some weird spam links). They often will not have a personalised account (avatar, colour, posts and reblogs, etc...) or will be very obvious spammer (risqué/famous people avatar, weird letter/number name combo or obvious p*rn words, spammy posts/links). The second one usually don't follow accounts.

Aside from the spammers... I don't understand why the other ones exist.

The annoying thing about bots following you is that you can't be sure if this is an actual lurker person who just want to enjoy the ride or an actual bot. For someone following a bit the stats and guessing the potential engagement for posts/announcements, they are really a bane.

You could block and report them, but I can't be bothered (unless it's too obvious) because there are a lot of them. I know some people who block any account that is not a little personalised (see below).

For example, this is what I have in my Follower list for @crimsonroseandwhitelily (I blurred the name, in case the accounts are real people). I think 2 or 3 of those are actually account, but I am not sure.

What can I do not to look like a Bot?

This is my totally not a bot account made for the purpose of this post (will delete it later). It is very plain and has nothing. Aside from the name, it could pass as a bot (i just need to mass-like stuff and sent people weird links :P).

So what can you do?

1. Change your avatar.

Below are the basic Avatars.

The easiest way not to look like a bot is to change it to any kind of image. It can be literally ANYTHING you want: something you like, something you hate, your fav celebrity/author/artist/..., a planet, a flower, a meme, the letter R...

Here, I made a few of them on Canva:

2. Chand the background picture.

Same thing as before. Add whatever you want. Don't want to show yourself to the internet, no worries: it can just be a picture of a colour.

How to do that?

In the Edit Appearance page of your blog, click on the Edit Appearance, then the little pen under the Save button and Choose photo. Upload the one you want.

3. Change your tag line/description.

When the description is empty, it shows as Untitled in the follower list (or in the user's language). You can change it to whatever you want. It can be a quote you like, your nickname/pronouns, what you enjoy doing on tumblr or key smashing...

How to do that?

Hello everyone! We come bearing challenges! This was originally going to be a week-long bleach ship challenge but we thought it'll be more fun if it was 24/7 365.

Essentially this is going to be a challenge-centered urashin event in which participants can write/draw. Each challenge is sectioned into tiers of difficultly (labeled masterfully by mod mix as varying degrees of cooked egg) and you are encouraged to do whatever you find would be the most fun or the most comfortable.

The only prompt you have to go on is to portray urashin in some fashion. Showcase their dynamic in whatever way you see fit.

Rainbow- have a character who’s clothing/appearance/powers appear in each color of the rainbow [red orange yellow green blue purple

Person A writes about 200 words, and then Person B has to continue it with only the last sentence from Person A’s writing. This switches between them about 5 times (1000 words). The two people essentially don’t know what the fic is going to look like until the end

Gender Headcanon: Soooo so due for a reread on this so a big IF I RECALL CORRECTLY for all of this: but gender & sexuality is intentionally messy in Shade, and shade's own relationship to it is usually defined through traumatic events for him and others iirc. shade is insecure in his masculinity in canon, but seems to staunchly see himself as male, albeit in a defeating way. Id like to see Shade get to experience gender euphoria in a modern comic rather than going back to rejecting all feelings and go super-misogynist or w.e BUT i dont care what gender that ends up being in the end. i use he/him pronouns for him usually

do you have a particular piece of jewelry you always wear or can't part with: a few different things actually! I don't always wear them but I do wear them pretty frequently. I have a bunch of simple kandi bracelets that I made myself that I tend to wear a lot, specifically one that says "alone together" on it and is part of a matching friendship bracelet set I made for myself and my friend Charlie. I've also got a metal ring with a rainbow going all the way around it that my dad bought for me at a pride festival a few months ago

what medium of art is the most touching to you, and why do you think that is?: music. definitely music. for as long as I can remember, periods of my life have been defined by the kind of music I was listening to. for a long time it was 60's classic rock, folk, and pop music that my dad would play around the house. then it was my mom's 80's hits compilations. now it's 2000's emo and pop punk. I'm not sure why music effects me so much, but I think it's got something to do with the fact that music just carries so much more emotion in it then other forms of art to me. maybe it's the added emotion of the instruments. I also appreciate a singer who can show a lot of emotion in their voice, it helps me feel the words deeper. plus I think there's a nostalgic quality to music. You tend to associate certain songs with events or periods of your life, which adds to the effect.

how did you think of your URL and what's it associated with for you: ok so I've told this story many times before but basically in some of the behind the scenes shots from the Danger Days music videos, you can see that Gerard is wearing a yellow handkerchief around his leg as part of the Party Poison costume. some fans noticed that this is hanky code for having a piss kink and the idea of Party Poison having a piss kink became a meme. Gerard got asked about this on twitter and did not help the allegations, especially considering he's said some.... interesting things about piss in the past themself. so yeah it comes from the Gerard Way/Party Poison piss kink lore because I thought it was funny

Beware of Rainbow Washing!

Pride Month just got over, and brands couldn’t get enough of it with the beautiful rainbow colours and scores of artistic creativity; starting from Burger King’s Pride Whopper with ‘top’ and ‘bottom’ buns and lusciously chopped vegetables to a variety of limited edition tie-dye rainbow prints and other rainbow-coloured garments. I, too, wanted to flaunt such merchandise as a proud ally and own it. However, it struck me, am I being rainbow washed?

But first, why is Pride Month celebrated throughout June? Pride Month is celebrated to commemorate the Stonewall Riots in USA, which began in the last week of June 1969 and paved the way for the Lesbian, Gay, and Transgender Communities’ fight for equal rights. The police raided the Stonewall Inn in New York’s Greenwich Village, a common gathering place for the young and old members of the LGBT community. These protests went on for five long days. On November 2nd, 1969, the idea of a march in response to the riots was proposed at the Eastern Regional Conference of Homophile Organizations in Philadelphia. On June 28th, 1970, a year after the Stonewall Riots, they marched through Christopher Street which became the epicentre of the riots and June 28th came to be known as the Liberation Day. The theme was ‘gay pride,’ and the slogan “Say it clear, say it loud. Gay is good, gay is proud” could be heard everywhere. Later, the month of June was officially recognized by Bill Clinton in 1999, followed by Barack Obama declaring June as the ‘LGBT Pride Month.’ it is the current President Joe Biden, who went a notch ahead and declared it as the ‘LGBTQ+ Pride Month’ to include everyone from the vast community. Many countries have followed suit and today June is celebrated as Pride Month globally with Kolkata’s 1999 Pride March being India’s first.

With a painful yet rich history to this celebration, brands have been seen to misuse it to their benefit. Rainbow washing, as the act is named, is where brands use Pride Month and take incidental advantage of the various colours it represents, by benefitting from the false inclusive marketing of its products. These companies are merely marketing this month for their own profits while in reality they may not believe in diversity or inclusion or worse still, indulge and support anti-LGBT practices. This is similar to Greenwashing (companies lying/falsely marketing their products to be sustainable and environmentally friendly by changing logos/banners etc. to shades of green, brown or yellow) or Pinkwashing (brands that misleadingly use the pink ribbon logo that symbolizes support for breast cancer charities). Not only is it wrong in the sense that it conveys a false message and outrightly lies to its customers, but also that it dilutes the underlying message and intention of Pride month.

Let’s examine the two examples given above. Burger King had to issue an apology for its widely criticized advertisement of the ‘Pride Whopper’ as it spoke about having two ‘tops’ and two ‘bottoms’ and hence completely misrepresented sex in the LGBT community. People called it an entirely tone-deaf campaign while marketing the ‘matching top buns.’ Bewakoof.com came out with a wide range of quirky rainbow-coloured products during the month. However, a deep dive into their history showed a grossly homophobic meme in 2015, which was taken down after an uproar by blogger Divya Roop. “Save the girl children or else 25 years later your son will come home and say Asha to mili nahi so Ashish le aya”. For a campaign meant to spread the message of ‘Save the Girl Child’, a homophobic route was taken. While the company had apologized for this marketing tactic, it gives an insight into the double standards. These brands latch on to this exclusive opportunity yearly and then forget about it for the rest of the 11 months. What we must ask is, do we really want to spend extra money on such ‘limited edition products?

Mansi Shanbag, a Lead Copywriter at WATConsult, very clearly says, “BRANDS ALWAYS WANT TO BREAK CLUTTER. BUT WHEN IT COMES TO PRIDE MONTH, THEY ARE ALL ABOUT SPAMMING. It is so very easy to stick a rainbow on your product, your logo, your name for a month and do absolutely nothing to actually contribute to the movement”. Companies should consult queering personalities and listen to their opinions before they can prove their allyship to the LGBT community.

Acko released an advertisement starring Neeraj Kabi in 2021 to promote its pride campaign. The ad showed him changing his social media profile picture to the colours of the pride and then proudly showing that off to his friends. His friends pat him on his back, assuming he had accepted his son’s sexual identity. This leaves him speechless as he tries to accept and digest this reality. “Post pride, Support pride, but more importantly, be ready to accept Pride” was Acko’s slogan. To ally with the community is not to merely flaunt its colours but also to readily accept and empathize with the soul of the idea. Are we ready to do that in the non-pride months?
