Something has been bugging me since the end of the Playful land event: How does the world not notice that these people are never seen again after going to this park. Even if its stated that only the positive magicam posts are the only things that leave the park, surely those guest's families/friends/employers/neighbors that didn't attend the park wouldn't eventually notice their absence. Moreover, how does no one still on land notice that the moving park leaves whilst everyone is still on it, and it never comes back to drop them off.

Makes me wonder if Twst has some sort of United Nations that would be alerted of this and set a worldwide lock down, so when the park needs to connect to a mainland again the country's military can apprehended them.

One of the biiig question marks of both Glorious Masquerade and Stage in Playful Land are all of the potential repercussions of Rollo/Fellow's schemes coming into fruition. The stakes of these two events are notably much higher than your typical TWST event, and that opens their stories up to further scrutiny. I'll talk about GloMasq first, then Playful Land, since I feel the former is also relevant to the points the asker mentioned.

This is going to be kind of a long post, so I'll slap everything below a cut! ^^

I don't know how frequently this is brought up, but I've heard some say it's unrealistic how Rollo was able to find the seeds for a supposedly wiped out plant and cultivate a ton in secret for his master plan. Now, I'm willing to suspend my disbelief in this instance because:

Spite can make a person do insane things (and what is Rollo is not spiteful as heck)

Rollo has lore which paints him as a diligent person who has a talent for gardening, so it feels in line for his character; he also seems to have an interest in history and is extremely neurotic so I could buy that he obsessively researched until he came across records or some trail to the flowers

The Bell of Salvation's ringing twice in a row is what triggers the flowers to bloom, and this has not happened prior to GloMasq because Rollo is the one who is consistently tending to the bell + the bell normally has a preset schedule; anyone that passes by the flowers would do so when they are inactive, and they are such an old phenomenon to begin with that no one in modern day would really recognize it or the danger the flowers pose

The narrative of GloMasq never calls attention to HOW Rollo was able to get the seeds, so it's not something that comes to mind unless you as the fan speculate about it; this doesn't come across as a plot hole, but it would be one if the narrative had pointed it out because then it would practically be obligated to fill the details in

The other major logical fallacy of GloMasq is that Rollo's machinations would have inevitably led to chaos once the flowers reached the rest of Twisted Wonderland, as some sections of society are reliant on magic. Now, I disagree with the notion that mages could band together and fight back against the flowers; we've seen from how the NRC students handle it that this would be a pretty useless effort since only the super powerful (which are few and far between) would be able to muster up enough magic to overpower the flowers. The majority of people are non-mages though, so the argument could be made that these people could help the mages by weeding or something similar. The question is, could this truly outpace the growth and attack of the flowers, especially when the average mage has far lower magical reserves than the average NRC student??? Remember how long it took the NRC kids (who are mostly healthy, youthful, and strong) to weed just the flowers in the waterways? My money's on the crimson flowers just overrunning the entire world long before they can be plucked out.

I actually think most societies would still be intact and able to operate without magic, seeing as 90% of the human population (which is implied to be the predominant race) are non-mages. Only very select industries and professions require magic to operate, and these are overrepresented to us (the players) since we are seeing the perspectives of mainly students who attend an elite magic school. These magical sectors, as well as societies which run primarily on everyday magic use (like Briar Valley) are the ones that would be the most in danger. This most likely explains why Malleus in particular was so panicked about Rollo's plans: if fully realized, his people would be in grave danger. This is not outright stated, but can be inferred. The main story also retroactively affirms Malleus's fears of being powerless. He was always told by his grandmother that the Draconias have great power so they can defend their people's smiles. What happens if that magic is stripped away? Then he is no longer able to protect his people nor his loved ones. In this way, GloMasq works well as both a standalone event as well as supplements TWST' grander story. It does not challenge what we already know but does support it.

Altogether, most details in GloMasq make sense and the event doesn't go out of its way to create more questions than answers. This... isn't the case for Playful Land. In fact, I would say that Playful Land does the opposite (in trying to explain plot holes, it creates a LOT more questions) and tries to hand wave everything away with one thing: money.

Firstly, Playful Land is kidnapping and trafficking innocent people (even if the park is said to be a more recent phenomena). Would their friends and family not notice they went missing and report this to the local authorities? My guess is yes, it's just not elaborated on in the event itself since the perspective through which the story is told is limited (Yuu doesn't know this world that well + the NRC kids, who are the people Yuu gets a lot of the lore from, are mostly privileged and don't need to worry about crimes of this magnitude). I believe the "people go missing, why aren't the police doing anything about it" can maybe allude to real world crimes that occur but aren't reported or resolved, which is very scary to think about. I don't know if this was the intention of the devs, but the comparison is certainly there and can be made. Or maybe it’s just that law enforcement hasn’t caught up yet?

It’s also odd to me that so many people were able to be taken by this huge, very showy moving park. I think that Fellow lures people out under the cover of night (which was the case with the NRC students, I will assume this is the case for the other victims too), but???? Even so, there are night owls and cities that don’t sleep. You mean to imply there were zero witnesses whatsoever??? Even though Playful Land is so big and bright, especially at night… Maybe this part plays into the idea that crimes may be reported but aren’t necessarily resolved…? That’s the only way I can rationalize it in my head.

Where the bulk of the issues start to come in is in alllllll the surrounding details. For example, a lot of the NRC students Fellow is kidnapping are connected to wealthy and influential families. How the heck are Fellow and his benefactors going to keep Vil’s fans, the Kingscholars, the Shrouds, the Asims, the hypothetical Leech mob family, and maybe even Maleficia herself and Malleus, from coming after their asses???? AND FELLOW SPECIFICALLY FUCKED UP BY ENCOURAGING THEM TO “INVITE THEIR FRIENDS” FROM SCHOOL… because guess who will be spilling the beans to the headmaster about students going missing the day after inviting everyone to go to this supposedly “free” amusement park?? All the students Fellow told them to blab to just so he could catch more of them 😭 Then from there it would definitely escalate and governments might get involved since Leona is a prince and Kalim has royal relatives. I could see Playful Land having to go on the run (as in, have supplies delivered to them rather then docking for them, knowing that police or military would be there to arrest them at ports). But they can’t do that forever, especially since not being able to dock effectively prevents them from picking up new prey.

With the combined powers of the NRC victims’ families, they would surely be able to challenge the people behind Playful Land, no?? Unless you mean to tell me these mysterious people somehow have more power than literal royalty AND the Asims combined??? And we’ve never heard of them until just now??? Okay, you’re starting to lose me here because this is adding on top of the lore we already have but in a way that comes off as difficult to believe since the amount of wealth and power some of the NRC kids have is already ridiculous.

Playful Land is also supposedly constructed by very powerful mages which makes me wonder why they got together to create such a thing???? Did they literally all get bribed with enough money to agree to this project? Were they deceived about the true nature of it?? Are the other 4 of the top 5 strongest mages involved in any way??? How was this not publicized that it was a project that very strong mages were working on given how few mages there actually are and how much Playful Land is talked about in online rumors??

Speaking of online rumors, that’s another thing. How are the people behind Playful Land able to monitor any and all talk about their park to this degree?? This is the internet we’re talking about here, surely stuff will fall through the cracks or come to light eventually. Someone would leak insider info, someone would say something.

The easy explanation given for everything is that there are very rich and very powerful people running these operations. They would be able to silence people who speak out against them or bribe the corrupt into complying or looking the other way. Maybe that’s just a sad truth I don’t want to acknowledge (because this stuff for sure happens irl 😞) but that all sounds WAY too convenient for fiction (where the devs have total control over the circumstances) especially when we’re given so little lore for who these benefactors actually are.

There’s still way too many questions and even turning on suspension of disbelief couldn’t stop those questions from arising in my head. At best, I think we could give the devs the benefit of the doubt and say this was intentional to keep up the idea of a “shadowy” underbelly to Twisted Wonderland society. Even so, that doesn’t account for every little thing and the event’s attempts to explain it all only makes more things to explain.

I tried to explain my perspective as best I can here! However, I admit that there may be bias in my judgment because I’ve made it no secret that GloMasq is my favorite TWST story event. Please let me know if you have any other issues with GloMasq’s narrative or if you have explanations for the issues I pointed out for Playful Land; I would love to hear your takes too ^^

How do you think the twins feel about having fans in rae? I'm sure they appreciate the public support, but going from no one knowing about you to everyone having that much information about you and your family history must be so uncomfortable

Everything there is to know about the twins is known. People think of them as celebrities by the time we return to Saeran's After Ending. As of the start of that event, it's been almost two months since the first reveal was brought to light, give or take a few days, and in that time, a lot of people have made a spectacle out of them. I mean, look at all of the buzz that happened around SevenStar drink!

Yoosung was one of the ones promoting the soda online in support of Saeyoung! People weren't buying it because they wanted to support the orphanages that the money was supposed to be going to. They were buying everything because they wanted to have a piece of the spectacle. Sure, some of them might've done that, had they known it was the deal between Saeyoung and Chairman Han... but.

I mean, the money was going to the best place it could go to, but make no mistake, I have not a single doubt in my mind that most people wanted to pick up the drink because it had to do with the publicity of all of this. the publicity of all of this. As far as I can tell, people aren't thinking about the humanity in the situation, they're thinking about everything else. 

Imagine what would happen in this universe we live in right now if the leader of a country had illegitimate children revealed, alongside the fact that he apparently kidnapped one of those kids? That's national news, if not worldwide because that kind of event is not something that you can sweep under the rug. Even if everybody thought it was hearsay or some kind of ruse from the get-go, everybody would be talking about it nonetheless.

How could you simply let it slide that a leader you voted for is implied to have done something horrible?

It's just not plausible to avoid it!

Look at this conversation you can have with Yoosung's friend from college who is a "fan" of the twins. Everyone thinks the boys are very handsome and I can't blame them for that, because it is true. But, people are interested in them because of their looks and because of the outright celebrity of the situation.

Everybody wants to be seen with them because it'll boost anything and everything on their social media. Do I think that there are people out there who heard the story that the boys went through and are sympathetic and want to support them for the right reasons?

Oh, yes, I do believe that, but in reality, I know that a lot of people are very shallow.

Unfortunately, there's only so much we hear about public opinion so I can only draw speculation from the people that we are allowed to hear from and interact with in the game when it comes to what all of these people think about the boys.

We even get a lot of support from Yoosung’s mother when we get the chance to speak to her! Her comments are the ones that remind me that not everybody is interested in the boys just because of how pretty they think they are, there are people who genuinely do not like the prime minister and always assumed something underhanded was going on, and now they only have confirmation. 

Another example is the outgoing message on Jaehee’s phone. Out of all of the questions that you could decidedly ask somebody about the boys, why are all of you calling about his hair color? 

More than anything, I know that Saeran doesn't know how to react to any of this.

All he wants to do is live an ordinary life, as an ordinary man, and now he's never going to be able to do that. People are constantly going to think about him even if the news of what he went through fades and calms down eventually, Everyone is always going to know his name and his story. It'll get easier as everything goes by and there's more time to think about the way the world is moving, but I do know one thing, from how he reacted on that phone call with Yoosung’s friend?

He's easily flustered and he doesn't know how to respond to people that supposedly support him and like him because he's not used to that. 

I think he's the kind of person who would be too nice to tell anybody no if they wanted to take a picture with him, or if they wanted to share conversation with him.

Because he is the kind of person that would like to sit down with other people and talk to them, and as long as it doesn't eat too much into his day, I feel like he wouldn't mind the celebrity too much, but if it gets in the way of him being able to have a normal life, then there would have to be a conversation about doing something or changing something to be able to get the piece of privacy he deserves. 

The only thing I'm really worried about are people who aren't going to be considered of his boundaries in the future, you know the people I'm talking about, people who will hit on or make him uncomfortable. That is something that a lot of celebrities have to go through, and we see it with Jumin and Zen, especially. I don't want to think about those details but I know it's something that could happen regardless of how many boundaries he puts up. I know him well enough to say that he would tell people like it is, but he shouldn't have to do that in the first place. 

More likely than not, he's going to be able to survive that situation through the support of everyone around him, and as long as the people around him who consider themselves his fans learn how to interact with him, it won't be a problem. Just let the man enjoy a grocery trip with his partner, please.

He's not asking much. 

God. I don't even know where to start on Saeyoung.

He has been suffering through this Non-Stop and when he is spit out on the other side, he has to learn that the entire world knows about him and there's nothing he can do about it. He is the kind of person who has lived in paranoia his entire life. He is still a paranoid man to this day.

He can't trust anybody and he doesn't want to trust anybody. The only people he can sincerely trust are those he knew before this all went wrong. He doesn't want to be a celebrity, he doesn't want people to know about him, but if it kept his brother from dying, he'll accept it as a necessary evil. 

He won't say anything at all if his brother doesn't mind. He will always put the needs of his brother before himself. If I can say anything, it's that he's not going to want to talk to anybody or give information to anyone else. I mean, think about it, he has had to live in hiding his entire life, constantly changing his name and persona to be able to survive, and now there is a speeding bullet on his back.

The agency that hired him can't destroy him and his father can't destroy him, but you know who can come after him? The countless people he pissed off when he was doing his job. There are people who know his face even if they never knew his name, and that could always be a problem for him. 

His name, his age, his face, and everything you can think of is just out there. When he subjected himself to going on video after the initial sacrifice on the second day, he knew what was going to happen to him. He knew what was going to happen to everyone else. He only did that because he thought it was the only thing that would be able to get his brother to go far, far, far away.

He sacrificed everything willingly in the name of love. He doesn't want his name and face to be out there. 

He wants to have a private life and I can see him going out of his way to wear disguises and avoid people like wildfire if humanly possible. He will spend a lot of time doing everything he can to make sure that he and his brother cannot be followed or tracked because that's just how his paranoia manifests. Until things get settled, I imagine he would spend a lot of time playing bodyguard if only because it helps him feel more in control of his situation. 

He's never going to adjust to people knowing who he is. He went from one extreme to another and there's no words to describe what that must be like. The price of freedom came at a major cost and the twins have to learn how to live with that.

Non scholae sed vitae discimus

This was the motto of the boarding school you attended which means ‘we do not learn for school, but for life’, and more often than not, it proved to be true. In the treacherous hallways of the school, everyone was on their own. Even if certain students formed cliques, they were short-lived forms of alliance until one or more of them were accused of something scandalous. That’s how you had fallen out with two girls after your father - a politician in your home country - was rumoured to be cheating on your mother. You had ‘cheater’s daughter’ written all over your locker in permanent marker the day after the news had gotten out, and students had given you suspicious glances everywhere you had gone as if you had been the one cheating on someone.

Sadly though, you weren’t the only case of castaway isolation. It seemed as if it was a game by now, the target falling on a different pupil every other day. Since everyone came from a wealthy family, each and every one of you could be a target for something. Your father might have cheated on your mother, but one student’s cousin committed suicide and they started asking him if he was next; one student had a CEO as their father who was accused of money laundering; one student’s sister ended up in jail after breaking into a stranger’s house at midnight, drunk and high, and the list went on and on.

You did learn for life, after all. You learned that there were multiple ways one could humiliate another human being, and that you could never trust someone because they only had you in their favour until your picture perfect facade didn’t waver. Once it did, you were as easily disposable as a piece of trash.

That’s why you were wary to let Junseo in when he had first shown signs that he was different. When you had started attending the same school together, you had firmly told him that he shouldn’t speak to you because your families were rivals, so were you. They had both worked in the fashion industry, always coming in the worldwide sales neck-to-neck, and the Kims tried to uphold a perfect family image just like your family did so. You hated every second you had needed to work with him on an assignment, talk to him during Latin classes or sit beside him during modern literature classes.

However, he had been the one who had tried to clean the permanent marker off your locker that one time, and since you had told him to stay away from you, he had to do it out of the goodness of his heart. He had also been the one who had stood up for you when you had needed to go back home for a funeral, and some girls had accused you of going on a vacation during term time. He had been the one to buy you peppermint tea when you had been on your period and hadn’t been able to leave your room due to your cramps.

Little by little, the boy had managed to break down your walls, and if there was someone you would consider as your friend, it would be Kim Junseo himself.

Timendi causa nescire est

Ignorance is the cause of fear, that’s what Junseo told you when a dead body was found on school grounds, and the school committee presumed that it was due to suicide since it happened after midterms. Since the school was in the highlands, and had its own campus with a nursery, two grocery shops, one post office, a stationery shop and a special affairs office (which was supposed to be the closest thing to a disciplinary office), they never notified the police because the school said that it would handle everything by itself.

Besides, your boarding school was said to be an exemplary one, one of the best ones in the world, why would anyone assume anything other than suicide? The deceased student’s parents would most likely want to sweep the news under the rug anyway because suicide was seen as a sign of weakness, especially among your social circle. No one would dare to question what happened.

No one, but you and Junseo.

It’s because Hamin’s - the deceased student’s - locker was above Junseo’s, and on the day the news of his death came to light, Junseo slipped a piece of paper in front of you in a secluded corner of the school library. It read:

“As far as I’m concerned, that never happened.”

“It was tucked into the bottom of his locker, so when I opened mine, it fell out,” the boy explained, and you furrowed your eyebrows in question upon his words.

“Do you think someone had something on him?”

“Or he had something on someone else, and maybe they cornered him on the rooftop. I rather doubt Hamin would have jumped off himself,” he added contemplatively, and you had to give it to him that he was right. If there was anyone in your whole year who didn’t seem affected by the budding ground of hatred and humiliation that the whole school was about, it would be Hamin himself. He was always so carefree and chatty, and he hadn’t been the target of any bullying (a rare case), so he didn’t seem to have a reason to end his own life.

“Maybe you’re right. Hamin is a kind-hearted student,” you started, then corrected yourself after clearing your throat. “He was a kind-hearted student, but he had a loose mouth. Maybe he saw something that he shouldn’t have or knew too much, and it backfired,” you mused out loud, trying to keep your voice quiet in case there were other students around who could eavesdrop on your conversation. After all, you could never know at this school.

You exchanged a glance with Junseo, and you could immediately tell that he was thinking the same: you needed to investigate it or else, no one would do it. So you went up to check on the rooftop, but they closed down the entrance to the rooftop, so you could only peek above the tapes and fences, trying to see if anything was off about the place. Nothing seemed out of ordinary, but it didn’t mean that that was all that was to it.

So you kept up your suspicions, listening in on conversations that seemed relevant, examining students’ body language when Hamin’s death was brought up, and Junseo even tried matching the handwriting on the piece of paper he found to the ones he saw in the teachers’ office when he helped the English teacher correct some tests. At first, nothing seemed to work out, but then, the rooftop was open to the public again, and you found a lighter with ‘CY’ engraved into it.

Even though smoking was strictly prohibited on school grounds, everyone knew that there were students who smoked, and the teachers probably knew about it too, yet let it slide because you all came from wealthy families, and they were paid to teach you, paid a hefty amount on top of them. So they turned a blind eye to most, if not all, breaches.

“Choi Yoonsung?” You quirked an eyebrow in question, pondering whether there was anyone else with the same initials in your year. “I wouldn’t be surprised if he smoked. His family owns a tobacco company after all,” you noted, and even though you had not seen the said boy smoking, anything could happen here. Even a murder.

“I feel like we’re missing something here. Yoonsung couldn’t just throw Hamin over the edge because of his lighter,” Junseo mused out loud while turning the lighter in his hands as if it could help him put the pieces together. It didn’t, but it lit a spark that turned into a full-blown fire.

A wildfire that couldn’t be contained.

Veritas vitæ magistra

You never really believed in the saying that truth was the teacher of life because there were too many two-faced people in your social circle, too many lies and facades, and you could never know when someone was being genuine or they were merely playing their part in the grand charade of boarding school society.

Well, not until you had to discover the truth behind Hamin’s death yourself. It wasn’t easy, and it took you two almost a month to figure out, but when the truth came to light - all your proof put together into a folder and sent to both Hamin’s parents and the special affairs official -, there was no way to cover up anymore what happened.

What happened was that Yoonsung and Soomin had been going out together, but kept it a secret because Soomin had been forced to date a different boy (and keep it long distance while she was at the boarding school) for her family’s sake. Hamin had walked in on them kissing once but said nothing. Then, he had bumped into them on the rooftop that night, and made a joke about them being a power couple at school. Yoonsung had started threatening the boy while the cigarette was still hanging out of his mouth. When the cigarette’s light had gone out while they had been arguing, Yoonsung had tried to light it up again, but Hamin had tried to hold him back. That’s when the boy had pushed him so forcefully that he had managed to push Hamin over the edge of the rooftop. It had always been too short for someone as tall as Hamin, but it had never caused such a calamity before. However, it had been dark, Yoonsung and Soomin had been frustrated already, and the ground had been slippery because of the day’s rain accumulating on the rooftop and along its rails.

How did you come to the conclusion of all these? You had found the note Soomin had left in Hamin’s locker, identified that it belonged to her based on her handwriting, had found Yoonsung’s lighter on the rooftop, had overheard one of Soomin’s friends talking about the girl’s supposedly fake relationship with a foreigner boy outside of school, had stumbled upon a half-burnt picture of the two of them one day on the rooftop, and many more hints like that. It had not been easy, Yoonsung and Soomin had guarded their secret as if it had been their own child, but the truth always came to light.

Veritas vos liberabit was written over the door of the special affairs office that you walked out of with Junseo by your side, and when you looked at each other, you felt your shoulders drop in ease and your heart beating somewhat lighter. Maybe that’s why you let Junseo reach out to you and pull you towards himself, so you could rest your head on his shoulder while you were walking.

The truth will liberate you all.

Has anyone else in bts has met their fs apart from v?

There were rumors yearssss ago that Jin was in a steady long term relationship with his gf and had been dating her for 5 years. If that was back in idk 2018 and if they are still together then I’m assuming they would be planning for marriage. I’ve noticed that Korean couples tend to date for a lot longer than other Western couples until they get married. A lot of my Korean friends have been in relationships for 5-6 years and still going without being engaged. It has to do with housing though. In korea, you put your entire mortgage cost in your deposit, so if your house was 2.5 million won, you would pay that upon buying. Then all you would have to worry about forever would be utility costs,etc. So most people live at home with their parents until they have saved enough to move out and buy their own place (think of any kdrama you have watched where the lead arrives home after a busy day at work and crawls into her bed at her parents house but then the next night goes on a date with her bf and he has to drop her back off at her parents house. Super awkward, especially when parents catch you making out like in Extradionary Attorney Woo.)

Joon did say that Jin’s house looks like a newlywed’s house 👀. Man is in his early 30’s and is a worldwide superstar. If he got married in secret, I wouldn’t be surprised. I would keep it a secret too. This fandom is so possessive and toxic.

But I don’t think he’s married. It would have gotten leaked. THEIR PASSPORTS HAVE GOTTEN LEAKED. Of course his marriage license would have too. Nah, he’s probably just shacked up with the love of his life. And good for him. He deserves it.

As for the other 6 members…This is all based on astrology and my own opinions. I DO NOT AND WILL NOT PULL TAROT CARDS ON THE MEMBERS. When you try to reach into another person’s energy, others can then reach into yours. Karma- what goes around comes around.

Was he disgusted at being asked such an intrusive question because it violated basic social norms and personal privacy or because he was disgusted at the thought of getting kissed by someone other than his sweetheart? (The answer is the 1st one. Media is too invasive.)

Jimin- ha no. Man’s has been burnt out and depressed for a while but everyone pretends they do not see. 95ers are also entering their Saturn Return year (welcome pal) so he is focusing on trying to survive an existential crisis

A SERIOUS PSA REGARDING THE APRIL 20TH SOLAR ECLIPSE

Howdy! On April 20th, there will be a TOTAL eclipse worldwide! As cool as it may seem the risks of looking at the eclipse directly WITHOUT protection are extremely high so here is some information and tips to stay safe! But first of all, what are the actual consequences to exposing your eyes to a total eclipse?

The consequences are retinal burns, also known as “eclipse blindness” or solar retinopathy. The symptoms include the loss of central vision, distorted vision or altered colour vision, and can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days for symptoms to begin to show. There’s a chance it would only be temporary, but there’s also an equal chance of it being permanent, so… I wouldn’t be taking that chance if I were you.

1. Don’t look at the sun. Seriously.

It’s easier said than done, honestly. There are plenty of moments where you could accidentally glance at the sun, or when your eyes can be in direct sunlight, such as opening blinds or windows, driving, and just being outside in general is EXTREMELY risky. This also leads onto point 2;

2. Phone cameras, sunglasses, binoculars, and other types of unfiltered glasses will NOT protect your eyes.

Trust me, the temptation to whip out your phone camera and try to watch the eclipse through there is strong. But other then potentially damaging your phone camera, and the lens not being able to get a good picture of the eclipse at all, you could accidentally fry your eyeballs, so your best bet is watching it online or getting proper eclipse viewing glasses. Personally I’d rather just close my curtains, maybe watch it online and just wait the eclipse out, but if you really want to see the eclipse, proceed with caution and follow the rules below when choosing the safest eclipse viewing glasses.

3. How to choose the safest eclipse viewing glasses.

Find a trusted and official seller. So that’s a ‘no’ on the 2 dollar store glasses…

Make sure they meet general safety requirements and are manufactured to the ISO 12312-2 standard. Check around for labelling and make sure you’re buying them from a reputable source.

Wear your solar eclipse glasses at ALL TIMES.

Another note, solar eclipse glasses can get damaged. So before use, make sure the lenses aren’t scratched or torn, because if they are, they’re not safe to use.

Conclusion

That’s about it for the PSA. Make sure to stay safe, and if you or anybody you know have been exposed to the solar eclipse light and are experiencing any of the symptoms listed take them to a healthcare facility to get it checked out. Seriously, loss of vision is horrifying and you need to take preventative steps to avoid it.

AGI / Super AGI and Human Opportunity

Let’s face it there will come a day when an AGI (artificial general intelligence) will be able to do anything a human can do. After this happens it will only improve into super AGI. The AI companies will eventually have all businesses using there tech in some way or another. The tech will be cheaper and more effecient than humans. So how do we prevent the outcome where everyone is on UBI (universal basic income) and there are no opportunities left for our future generations?

There has to be an incentive and opportunity for people to look forward to participating in the rise of super AGI. The best way I see this happening is if everyone has the ability as a human right to either own or invest in the creation of the skilled robots or software that will replace them.

So, instead of the UBI for life future, you will be able to pay the company or companies that develop AGI and super AGI to own a robot or software that will make you money doing the work you, or someone else, used to do. For example it might cost $5k to buy a robot that earns $10k a year doing entry level construction work. While a higher paying skill might cost more. So a robot that costs $35k might have the skill to be an engineer and earn $70k a year. On the software side you could buy an AGI software for $200k that can do all worldwide accounting and government compliance tasks and make you $500k a year replacing a whole accounting team of some global business. Of course the prices will vary company to company, and the Tech company that builds the AGI will probably get a percentage of the income, but you get the idea.

What jobs will people do to make the initial investment you ask? The only jobs left will be tech related most likely. Most people will either help program / maintain the robots and help the AGI maintain it’s data bases or do cyber security work(not only keeping out hackers, but also making sure the super AGI doesn’t decide to take over the world). Other than that it will probably be saving some of your UBI until you can buy a low level robot and then buy more and more.

There must either be law in place so everyone can participate at every income level. Or there will have to be at least 100 different AGI companies in actual competition for customers to drive prices lower. Because if left only to the market and a few AGI companies that agree to not actually compete. The rich will make it impossible for the poor to buy any bot or software the prices will be too high. You would only be able to own a bot if you were rich. That can’t happen because once again that would leave all poor people no opportunity except for living on UBI for life.

I know some people might be thinking financial opportunity is not the only kind of opportunity and the truth is if you do anything in the AGI or super AGI future you will be doing it just because you want to for free or because whoever pays you want’s specifically human made products or services and is willing to pay more for it.

Good Shave Baby Bird (no label, self released) (released in November 2022)

The UK is able to mail out of country once again (a ban was enforced in November just as this album was being released by Stephen Jones) which means this album finally lands in the US. 

Stephen Jones, the abbreviated version, mind you, is the man once upon a time known as Baby Bird (not to be confused with the band Babybird which was also Jones only with a band), a master of lo-fi and the Bedroom Sound.  From 1995 to 1997 he released self released five albums that were the pinnacle of lo-fi (discounting another master of lo-fi Guided By Voices who reigned prominent in the 90s for this record lover): I Was Born A Man, Bad Shave, Fatherhood, The Happiest Man In The World and Dying Happy. This was before the internet exploded and I bought at least two of these five lo-fi jewels through chat rooms for exorbitant prices. I paid $80 for Bad Shave to be shipped from Paris, France, wondering if I would actually see it arrive, after all Paypal didn’t exist and debit cards had not yet been birthed.  I sent a money order (I was King of the Money Orders in the 1990s) off in hopes it would pay off and of course, it did.  Before the internet, people didn’t rip you off and they followed through because a record collector was a record collector was a record collector (insert eye rolling whistling emoji here).

Today, the internet destroys lives and it enhances lives (see A Tale of Two Cities) and for Stephen Jones, he can actually almost make good money on the music he makes in his bedroom by going directly to those fans who love his music.  No longer relying on kind hearted collectors in Paris, France I can dial up Stephen on bandcamp, tell him what I want, send him the money through the magic of the modern world and presto chango it arrives in my mailbox!  What could be simpler?  For fans it is a heaven that actually exists, for musicians like Stephen it is a never ending job.  Not only must he write the music, record it, produce it and mix it (maybe) he must also design the damn digipaks, put them together, buy an endless supply of CD-Rs (and in some instances actual pressed silver CDs), have plenty of packing envelopes, go to the post office, mail this stuff (and spend a fortune on postage for the entire world, because he has a generous supply of fans worldwide).  For the likes of Mr Jones this is a never ending job.  Remember when you wanted to be a musician?  It sounded so perfect: make records, sell records, drink too much, drug to much, have too much sex and live in Heaven.  But the internet giveth and the internet taketh away.  Today’s musician must endlessly bust his tired exhausted imagination especially if he is a self contained industry like Stephen Jones is. 

And then he has fairweather fans such as myself who don’t buy everything he puts out.  And trust me, this guy never stops. He’s like a never sleeping shark, he must be glued to his social media and laptop.  He sends out 40 tweets/messages a day and he must put out an album a month.  In 50 years when virtually everyone reading this tumblr is dead and gone, who will tend to Stephen’s discography page?  How messed up and full of errors will it become?

Good Shave is a companion album to his 1995 Bad Shave album. The songs, according to our man, come from the same grab bag from which he chose to compile Bad Shave from: all demos, all lo-fi, all composed and performed and sung by himself.  No one else is reissuing these albums so Stephen might as well make his house payment and his daughter’s tuition however he can.  I do not begrudge the man one thin dime.  I just can’t buy everything he does.  (Today I counted 303 releases on his bandcamp page!  75 rows of four albums plus one row of three albums.  The man is a machine.)

Above you see the cover and the back cover.  Below, check out the gatefold taken in two shots.  The first shot is the left hand side of the digipak as it would appear when it is opened up.  The second photo is of the inlay tray on the right sans the CD which would normally sit in said inlay tray.

The next photo is of the CD itself.  Keep in mind this is a CD-R which means in about a decade or less, if it is like my Dylan bootlegs that came out on CD-R, they will stop working and I’ll have nothing left but the memory of this music.  Isn’t modern life full of miracles?

I am going to be on those people who foul up poor Stephen’s discog page because he included a bonus CD with Good Shave.  It is obviously not his work since the title is Not Stephen.  If I recall correctly, a fan made an album of covers and sent it to Stephen who liked it so much he included it as a bonus disc here.  At least I think that’s how the story goes. 

Below you will find photos of the original Bad Shave album from the cover to the gatefold to the back.  Remember, this once lived in Paris, France, a place I can only dream of.

You Can Trust Him- Anchoring Your Hope in God During Difficult Times is an incredible book. The chapters take you through the stories of the bible that we all know so well. This book is beautifully written and intricately weaves together scriptures and some of the most popular people in the bible, as well as people in Joan’s life and ministry. 

The stories that I once  thought were only relevant in history I have learned that the same rules apply to the world we live in today. One thing that you learn from this book is that we are very similar to the people who lived throughout history. Most of us ( myself included) pray and worship daily, however we don’t truly reach out to God unless it's out of  complete and utter desperation. As I was reading this book one song came to my mind and played on repeat the whole time I was reading. “Praise You In The Storm” by Casting Crowns is the perfect song for this book. 

 

This book will open your heart to the compassion God has for His people in a whole new light.  I was able to understand  the passage in Isaiah in a way I never had before.

Come everyone who thirsts, come to the waters;and he who has no money, come , buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

Another thing I have learned reading this book is that through my life I have let the world define my level of confidence instead of realizing that I am a child of the Most High God, and that is something that nobody can ever take away from me. 

Hebrews 10:35-38 ESV

Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For, “ Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him” 

I was truly convicted at one point reading this book. I came to a chapter where Joan was talking about praying and standing in faith for help to expand her ministry and acquire office space. Joan points out that she should have been taking a step of faith instead of standing and waiting for God to move and this really hit home. 

While I always take everything to God, I have a habit of sitting back and waiting instead of taking that first step of faith.  2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by Faith not by sight. 

I have been pondering over this part of the book for a few days and can’t help but wonder what all I have missed out on because God was waiting for me to take that step of faith. 

If you would like to have a deeper connection to the Lord and learn how to use the bible in a daily application in every aspect of your life, I highly recommend reading this book. As I said at the beginning of this review, I will be reading all of Joan E. Murray”s book and applying what I learn to my everyday life. I’m also sure I will be re-reading You Can Trust Him- Anchoring Your Hope in God During Difficult Times for years to come. 

 We all have some form of trust issues and this book has really taught me that even though I have been let down by people throughout my life, God will never let me down. He may not answer my prayers the way that I would like but I have learned that He will always be there by my side even through the trials and tribulations that He allows to take place in an effort to make me stronger and prepare me for the future. God will always be with me and I know That I Can Trust Him completely.

The World’s Youngest Mother by K.H.

Lina Medina is a girl who was five, and suffered from premature puberty. It means that her hormones caused her eggs to develop very early. Her parents did not see any signs. Who is Lina Medina? Lina Medina was born on September 23 1933, in Ticrapo, Castrovirreyna Province, Peru. Her parents were named Tiburelo Medina, a silversmith, and Victoria Losea. One day she got sick and she was taken to a hospital. What a surprise.

Lina was one of nine children and one day she got very sick. What happened to her? According to a story called “5 year old gives birth” it said that, “Her parents took her to a hospital in Pisco at age five due to increasing abdominal size” (p. 1). Her parents thought she just had a stomach problem and they took her to the doctor. The article also says, “ Doctors originally thought she had a tumor but then determined that she was in her seventh month of pregnancy” ( p. 2). The parents were very surprised that it was not a tumor. It was a baby. Dr Gerardo Lozada had specialists in Lima confirm the pregnancy.

Everyone was shocked and people are still shocked after almost 100 years. As a reader I was confused because a five-year-old got pregnant and no one knew how. The article further says, “There was widespread interest in the case” (p. 6). This shows that the whole world was interested in this case. In fact, “The San Antonio Light newspaper in Texas reported in its 16 July 1939 edition that a Peruvian obstetrician and midwife association had demanded she be admitted to a national maternity hospital, and quoted reports in the Peruvian paper La Crónica that an American film studio had sent a representative "with authority to offer the sum of $5,000 to benefit the minor" in return for filming rights”( p.7) So some film directors wanted to buy the rights to this story and make a movie out of it.  But the offer was rejected. I think that the parents did not want this to bring disappointment and drama to the family.

So you would think this is the end of the story, right?  According to the article, “Six weeks after the diagnosis Medina gave birth to a boy by caesarean section” (p. 7). Did she have the body of a 5-year-old? How was she able to carry a baby to term? The article further states, “The doctors found she had fully mature sexual organs from precocious puberty” (p. 7). This means that she had premature development of her sexual organs. So this case was very unusual; “Dr. Edmundo Escomel reported her case in the medical journal La Presse Médicale, including that her menarche had occurred at eight months of age, in contrast to previous reports that she had had regular periods since the age of three or two and a half” (p.7). So this case is not covered up like the family wanted because it went worldwide as a shocker.

Medina's son weighed 2.7 kg (6.0 lb; 0.43 st) at birth and was named Gerardo after her doctor. He was raised believing Medina to be his sister before finding out at age 10 that she was his mother.

In conclusion, no one ever found out who the father was. All people know is that she had premature puberty. At the time they could not test the baby. If it were today they could test him and find out who the father was. As I was reading this article I felt disgusted but interested because there are a lot of conditions that humans have that are not normal to society; but, anything is possible. I was also interested because anything is possible in this world. This shows the most disgusting and vulgar things are possible in this world.

You would think by now they would at least be able to diagnose pancreatic cancer since they are very aware of it killing without realizing a person has it. I hope, by us posting these comments about this particular cancer here, people will be more aware of this killer and catch the cancer before it’s too late.
