👻 ghost for the halloween themed ask game!

Heya! thanks for the ask <3 I've answered ghost once HERE, but let me see what else I can share & tease about some wip ideas that have been haunting me...

One...

I mentioned earlier that I have several Interactive Fiction idea's. One of those is a Halloween themed interactive fiction.

Your roommate's brother invites you to the family halloween ball. Your roommate won't be there, she has to work, but she asks if you plan on going.

If you do, you might find out that vampires, werewolves, and fae all exist, and none of them like having a human at their halloween masquerade.

It was an idea spawned by the Halloween Game event on the Choice of Games forums, and while I don't have time right now to make it for the event, I love the idea enough that I do want to put it together at some point.

Two...

I half wrote a story some years ago about a woman called Stephanie who bumped into a man on her way home from work. the following day he showed up at her front door and insisted that she had to help him break into hell.

The story centred around this woman finding out she descended from a long line of witches, and that the Angel Gabriel needed her to open a path into hell, so he could confront Lucifer about who had caused the Wheel of Time to stop spinning.

Over the course of story they would traverse through the nine planes of hell, only to find out that Lucifer wasn't behind the sabotage at all.

The story stalled, and then my Grandad's health went rapidly down hill, and I never got back to 'When Time Stands Still', but like all the others I've mentioned, it's one I'd like to take another look at someday.

Three...

One idea I'm very excited to explore is A Grim Awakening. I really love the concept of death longing for death.

I've wanted to make a character surrounding this concept for literally years, and to know I've finally got a functional outline, and a story ready to go, my fingers are itching to reach for the keyboard for this particular project.

When Krysis hears about Reapers, immortal creatures who cannot die, going missing, she's more than happy to investigate. She's been looking for a way to simply stop for a while.

When she reaches the city, however, she discovers a human on the cusp of becoming a minor deity. Jack Sanger is a paramedic, but his slowly manifesting powers are allowing him to capture the soul before it leaves the body, and revive his patients.

The worst part about that, for Krysis, is that he can see her. Now she's got missing Reapers, no leads, and a minor deity who doesn't know the damage he's doing to the fabric of reality, and suddenly her life isn't looking quite so boring anymore.

I'm just ITCHING to dig into this dynamic, I'm super excited about it :D

First art of the new year is all about re-structuring your internal monologue.

In my early 20s I was working full time in London with many social commitments and a variety of hustles and side projects.

In my later mid 20s I cater to many sensory and social drain needs I have and indulge in special interests while respecting my lower energy reserves and celebrating my different way of processing the world.

Did I get more autistic? Nah. I got less fake.

Pin-Lee suggesting that Murderbot start reacting to its injuries more to let humans know it’s been injured after realizing that it’s been casually walking around after a fight leaving a trail of Fluids. It’s like “I could.. probably write some code for that I guess.” and Dr. Mensah is like “don’t worry about it if it would be distracting to you. Just.... tell us afterwards. We want to know how you’re doing” and it’s like “i can give status reports yes.”

Pin-Lee is like “I still like the idea of you giving an indication you’ve been hit. For example.” she points finger guns. “Bang oh no I have definitely hit you with a projectile. Indicate that somehow.”

Murderbot, with extremely flat inflection which would not immediately seem like a distress call to nearby humans: “Ouch. I Have Been Injured.”

Pin-Lee is like “hm no there’s gotta be some sort of. I don’t know, you don’t have to verbalize if you don’t want to, maybe there’s like an alarm noise you could make? or an “AAA!” sound? Okay let’s try again BANG”

There is a brief delay (less then a second) and then Murderbot responds with damage vocalization option 2.

“File:Wilhelm_Scream.ogg” blasts through the station.

Re-reading Ch28 of Phangs to double-check some details (just as well because I completely fucked up Vlad's room in the next book.) and not to toot my own horn or anything, but it's so fucking funny from an ADHD perspective.

Nathan just walked into a veritable treasure trove of Vlad's psyche.

He's walking around in awe, like, whoa, is that a hand-painted celestial map on the ceiling? Gods, Vlad's so talented. I bet there's nothing he can't do. Oh, a pianoforte! He's musical! Wow, look at all these books. He's so smart. I love how smart he is. I want to fuck his brains out. Oh! Look! A telescope!

As opposed to Vlad, whose internal monologue is: don't look at the mess, don't look at the mess, don't look at the mess. Okay, just act normal. How... how do I do that? Oh gods please don't think I'm weird. Please like me.

I know I wrote him, but he's in such a mood sometimes, lol.
