It's my birthday again so here are a few of my favourite pieces from the past year! These are all traditional, ranging from watercolors to inks to acrylics.
I hope I get to make more works like these in the coming year!
Find me and my art elsewhere!

Hello! Trainer from Alola here, big fan of your work. I was wondering; is there any evidence of any legendary pokemon being related to other pokemon? For example, does Rayquaza share any DNA with other dragon pokemon? (I know it would be extremely difficult to get any rayquaza DNA fhshfjd) Or are pokemon like that entirely their own species?
the answer is, as with many things on this blog.. it depends!
"legendary pokemon" aren't really a cohesive category like, say, a type or a taxonomic group. the only common factors are that they tend to be very rare and that they have legends about them. as our examples, let's use two groups of hoenn legendary pokemon: latios and latias, and groudon, kyogre, and rayquaza.
latios and latias (like other pairs such as nidoqueen and nidoking, or volbeat and illumise, latios and latias are sexually dimorphic members of the same species) are indeed related to other pokemon- they're birds! specifically, they're in the auk family, which are a group of generally stout, seafaring birds like guillemots and puffins. this may seem strange- the latis appear to have wings and arms, and no legs, very unlike birds. however, if we take a look at their skeleton, the connection becomes much more obvious:
Tumblr media
what we generally interpret as arms are actually the lati's legs, the thighs of which are obscured by flesh and feathers. while they use their wings to steer and for some lift, the latis generally stay aloft with their psychic powers rather than traditional flight, which is why they can hover in place. this has freed up their legs for use in manipulating objects, and they are rarely seen standing on their feet. because they mostly rely on hovering, their legs no longer have the strength to hold their large bodies up for very long.
Tumblr media
these pokemon are indeed exceptionally rare, having very low population numbers in only a few regions, and spending most of their time over open ocean. like many pelagic seabirds, they breed on only a few small islands, like alto mare off the johto region and southern island off hoenn's south coast. their populations are on the upswing, though, in large part due to concentrated conservation efforts on those islands. point being, though, they are indeed just animals. rare, powerful animals, but animals nonetheless.
many legendary pokemon fall into this camp. articuno, zapdos, and moltres, lugia and ho-oh, heatran, and various others.
.
conversely, the so-called weather trio of hoenn: groudon, kyogre, and rayquaza. these three are even more rarely seen than the latis, only having been sighted in recent times during their clash in hoenn nearly two decades ago. despite the three's resemblance to other living pokemon, as far as we know they are entirely unrelated to any known animals, or even any other life on earth.
this is known because evidence of these pokemon have been found dating back over 3 billion years ago, that is to say over a billion years before multicellular life even existed. gigantic fragments of footprints attributed to groudon have been sighted alongside some of the earliest fossils we know of of early bacteria. modern physical samples from these pokemon- the extremely few that have ever been recovered- have never resulted in any dna evidence, and appear in structure much more similar to inorganic matter.
as it stands, it appears these pokemon arose some time early (relatively speaking) after the earth formed, being (as opposed to natural living organisms) animate representations of the forces of nature themselves. a similar condition is often assumed for some other grandiose legendary pokemon, such as dialga and palkia, though much less tangible evidence exists for their presence in prehistoric time, so this is mostly an assumption based on their infrequent appearances & legends surrounding their origins.

You know what's kinda insane to me?
The fact that Ash Ketchum isn't famous in the pokemon universe, like in-universe.
You mean to tell me that a ten-year-old going region to region, meeting multiple legendaries and solving insane problems with his recognizable as fuck pikachu isn't atleast twitter famous? Not even considered a cryptic that when people say that they met him, he beat their asses in a pokebattle, then continued to also beat a legendary/an evil league/team rocket, that people online don't go: "oooh another region/world wide incident that can go on the conspiracy board, time to put new red threads between this major world-impscting event and the fact that this kid might me god."
I mean, he atleast should be famous in Kalos from the jumping-off-the-Prism-tower-fiasco alone but he also sorta stopped an artificial apocalypse set up by an evil pokemon league using an unidentified legendary and a previously long lost mega-evolution form from a starter pokemon. (It's been a while since I watched the anime, don't get on my ass).
I mean, pokemon champions are kind of considered famous because people recognise them in-universe right? Shouldn't someone online have recognised him from hanging out with so many champions alone? You mean to tell me that if some random ten-year old started showing up in news articles with famous people even if he was just in the background, no one in the entire world would make a reddit post saying 'hey look at this funny coincidence, this kid has been spotted with 5 champions or something' ????????
Buzzfeed unsolved episodes have been made about less.
I get it that he wouldn't become well known from the mewtwo incident - because mewtwo erased the memories of everyone involved if I remember correctly - but you mean to tell me no one remembered him from the three legendary kanto birds and Lugia (saved the world), Entei, Celebi, Latio and Latias and literally every other movie? Sure, say those aren't cannon. WHAT ABOUT THE TIME HE LITERALLY GOT KIDNAPPED BY A THOUGHT TO BE EXTINCT POKEMON IN THE FIRST SEASON?? THAT DINO-ASS FLYING POKEMON THAT FORCED CHARMELEON TO EVOLVE INTO CHARIZARD SO THEY COULD FIGHT IT? HE'S NOT ATLEAST INFAMOUS IN KANTO FOR THAT??
Also you can't tell me that there are a lot of ten-year old who fight in multiple major pokemon leagues in contention for the title of regional pokemon champion.
There has to atleast be one autistic 5-year old and their mother in the pokemon world who know all about Ash Ketchum because his adventures are low-key insane.

I just discovered this blog and wow its really well done everything is super cool! I do wanna ask though, what was the thought process/inspiration for making the Gardevoir line insects? I like them but they're more far removed from the original Pokemon than you usually go so I was curious.
honestly for many of my interpretation of pokemon its based on an association i already had in my head, in which i see an existing creature or object and think of that pokemon. for example, when i see a white borzoi or afghan hound, i think, ohh, reshiram... when i see a small fuzzy dog whose eyes you cant see, i think, heehee, deino! of course, not all of them can be applied in this way (when i see a klm boeing 747, i think, ohh, thats latios!). and this makes it sound like i think about pokemon a lot--well, i do!
but in this case, when i see a green mantis, i think, oh, that's gardevoir. theyve simply always been somewhat mantis shaped in my mind, with some bird elements, especially owls, and white plume moths. the fun nature of insects is that theyve got all sorts of stuff going on. fur, plumes, hair, scale-like segments, appendages that imitate plants and other animals. you can really go crazy with them. which seems appropriate, since supposedly the whole idea of pokemon first originated from satoshi tajiri's interest in bugs.
thanks you for this question and im glad youre enjoying the art ^_^

hey welcome to the bird pokemon tournament :)
the brackets! shoutout to printyourbrackets
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
FINALS BRACKET
Tumblr media
these brackets were hand-seeded by me, and i really tried my best to ensure there were no strong competitors up against each other in the first rounds. but i’m just one unemployed freshly graduated guy so i doubt it’s perfect, feel free to let me know if anything is a bad matchup and i’ll try to go from there if i ever do another tournament!
- reshiram, latios, latias, dracozolt, and arctozolt were disqualified for not being "bird" enough. sorry those pokemon enjoyers :(
- mega evolutions are not included, but regional forms are!
- propaganda is allowed but please be nice! reminder that i will not publish any propaganda that directly attacks any competitor! some light taunting is allowed but please do not outright insult any pokemon. if i don't post your propaganda it's either because it was insulting another competitor or I Forgot and i'm very sorry if that's the case </3
- all polls for the first round will last a week and will be posted once a day!
- polls will be reblogged when there are around 2-3 days left. feel free to blacklist #reminder if they get annoying!
remember this is all for fun, so please be kind and polite!

The Latis look like storks or chickens, is that intentional? Not mad or anything, just genuinely curious.
Moreso storks than chickens. But yeah, I was kinda aiming for the leggy tall bird look. :>
I might try out a rooster tail look for Latios, actually.

Pokémon AU
Oobleck teaching class outside: Now class who can tell me the names of the Hoenn regions Eon Duo
Weiss: LATIAS AND LATIOS?!?!
Oobleck: Corect but no need to shout and you need to raise your hand so no points
Weiss: NO JAUNE IS BEING TAKEN BY THEM!
Latias: (stupid rock paper scissors I'm carrying him back)
**********************************************
"Guys, could you put me down?" Jaune groused as the two glared at one another. "Urp! G-Gently, if you could?"
A croak came from below as a large bird Pokémon swooped in from below. They flew in front of the bickering twins with red eye glaring at them both. Latios clutched Jaune to their chest, placing an unappreciated pressure on his body.
The Corviknight squawked at the two before diving for Jaune. Latios countered by slamming them off course. When charging again, Latias fell backwards and dove to the forest. As the Corviknight gave chase, so too did the blue Pokémon behind them.
As the aerial dance continued, Jaune threw a hand to cover his mouth. He was going to hurl. In three... two...
But it never happened. Jaune felt his nausea lessen greatly, as though his very soul recieved a pat and rub on the back. The sensation, or rather the one responsible for it, felt very familiar.
The trio landed outside the forest, and Jaune was set safely on the ground. Dr. Oobleck called out to him to return quickly. As he did, he turned back to see them retreat into the forest, where a shadow waited for them.

After the Anthropocene mass extinction Earth lost a great portion of its former biodiversity, with only adaptable and (usually) small critters surviving, and thus inheriting a planet devoid of any competition from their bigger and more specialised relatives.
As the climate stabilised the plants started regaining their former diversity, allowing the herbivores to do so aswell, and the carnivores that preyed on them too.
As of now the main predatory clade of Africa are the felids, ranging from the big lions and leopards to the small wildcats. After the mass extinction only four species of them survived: the African golden cat, the African wildcat, the black-footed cat and the sand cat (plus the remaining jungle cat and feral cat populations that fused with the African wildcats).
These survivors were quick to fill the empty niches and diversified rapidly.
In ten million years the black-footed and sand cat remained quite small, only diversifying in a handful of desert and savannah species that hunted rodents, shrews, birds and reptiles. The African wildcat, on the other hand, other than for a myriad of jungle hunters, evolved into two directions: medium sized ambush predators, like the semi-arboreal Gorbofelis sorayae or Plejadkat, and pursuit predators, like the cursorial Celerailurus brevis or Kortoor-kat, that unlike cheetahs still retains retractable claws and remains a way more effective and successful hunter.
The African golden cat, being the biggest extant predator on the continent, became its new apex predator, quickly growing in size along with its prey, and evolving into a lineage of big ambush predators, culminating in the enormous Ajubaleo sankarai or Sankara’s cat, almost as tall as a man and capable of taking down the rhino sized hyraxes and antelopes of the Epigene.
Tumblr media
As cats diversified, other African carnivorans did too. Like in modern times, the second most dominant carnivoran clade are the canids, that will remain as such in Africa throughout the Epigene. The two biggest African dogs are the broad-faced dog or Lycothous latios, a big scavenger descended from jackals capable of crushing bones that bullies bigger predators away from their kill; and the African red wolf or rooiwolf (Afrolupus fulvus), a cursorial pack hunter descended from African wolves that tires its prey to death.
From foxed evolved the laangvos or Alopecocyon macrypus, a pale fox descendant that specialises in hunting small rodents, shrew and moles; and its close relative the Serengeti fox (Afrovulpes excavans), almost identical to its ancestor.
Of all the African otters only the spotted-neck one survived, with both basal forms like the Metahydra cancrivora, and giant ones, like the Gigantohydra leonina, capable of reaching a grown man’s shoulders when standing up and capable of competing with crocodiles in hunting antelopes drinking at the riverside.
Other mustelids survived too, although usually retaining their ancestral bodyplans, like the honey badger, whose African descendant, the golden badger (Mellivoroides chrysus), who retained its strong aposematic coloration only on its rearside, developing a more camouflaging golden coloration on the front to better ambush both small and “big” prey.
Out of the feliforms both Viverridae and Herpestidae survived in the savannah, usually remaining pretty unchanged, except for the meerkats (Neosuricata acutidens) who became facultatively eusocial like the naked mole-rats and developed a venomous bite.

Was inspired by to do another meme redraw.
Also after watching some clips from the movie that Latios and Latias star in, I saw that Latios wings can fold to their sides like a bird, though this was when Latios was captured so I don't know if that would count as a normal position for their wings to naturally fold back like that. But I'm making it is something that Lati-Ingo and Lati-Emmet can do as their psychical biology/appearance doesn't 100% match Latios its more of a combination of Latios and Latias, which technically in my headcannon makes then considered 'Genderless' by other Latios/Latias standards, but they prefer to go by male pronouns.
The more I draw these guys the more I'm coming to the personal head cannon that Latios and Latias are dragon/Owls with a plane theme.

file too big for tumblr so you get a youtube video but HIII I DID IT!! I BEAT THORTON!!! I GOT THE GOLD PRINT BABEY I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS TO HAPPEN TONIGHT!! months of on and off grinding and then 3 days straight of doing this nearly all my waking hours and losing so many streaks and I DID IT!!! this is one of the hardest things you can do in gen 4 ever i think i'm losing my mind. pthgss battle factory does NOT fuck around
some commentary below the cut if you're interested in my thoughts/strategy while doing this
when i saw whiscash i swapped into scizor because i thought it was safe and i wanted to preserve weavile's strength, speed, and fake out for later... and i did my calcs wrong. i've been hunched over calculators and spreadsheets for hours to have the best odds of winning this streak and somehow i was calculating doubles damage instead of singles so EQ was stronger than i expected. embarrassingly i didn't notice this until someone pointed it out to me after the fact LOL. i don't even know how i didn't catch it, of course EQ does more damage, it's STAB!! so that was actually a pretty damn dangerous switch! but he missed stone edge i am BLESSED stone edge more like stone MISS AHAHAHAFSDKFSDAL
anyway after whiscash was down i let entei take out my scizor because scizor is slow and was already on low HP, if i tried to preserve it it would probably just get outsped and die to a legendary or something later. and entei had two dangerous sets in particular it could possibly be so i really needed to scout its fire move. tbh when i saw entei my heart sank, i knew my team was really weak to fire and that it could be a problem but i just never found any good pokemon to swap while climbing round 7. i just hoped that garchomp resisting and having earthquake would suffice... but the entei had a shuca berry (halves a super effective ground hit) so outrage actually did more damage. if entei crit me at any point it would have been over but otherwise it would have been impossible to take out garchomp in two hits thankfully. and i had a persim berry if outrage ended in two turns and confused me. but didn't end up mattering!
my heart SANK when the focus band proc'd on latios (a 10% chance) but then i was like YES!! THIS IS WHAT WEAVILE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR!! THERE'S NO WAY IT PROCS TWO MORE TIMES IN A ROW RIGHT?! because weavile using fake out would give me a chance, and then if focus band proc'd again, the flinch from fake out would let me get a second turn and weavile outspeeds that latios SO it was pretty safe unless i got insanely unlucky. AND IT WORKED OUT!!!!
i dunno if i deserved this win because my round 6 (the round before this one) was INCREDIBLY lucky, like, i got the round 7 staraptor in my draft and it had choice band brave bird and just decimated EVERYTHING except a couple bronzongs which i had a strong vaporeon for, so... it was basically a freebie and then round 7 had some close calls but also i got garchomp from trading with the literal first trainer (who i almost lost to but shhh) and then all the stuff with scizor/whiscash... BUT. it's been long enough i'm TAKING IT
anyways POGGERS
Tumblr media
i'm probs gonna upload this battle video to the dns exploit server later but i gotta wait for my parents to go to bed so i'm not interrupting them using wifi by turning on the gen 4 compatible guest wifi lol
(btw if you want to do factory yourself please look up smogon's resources on it and use calcs and stuff i promise without it it will be a living nightmare 10x more than it already is)

Meandering thoughts about Pecharunt/possible ecology Stuff(tm) for the specific one in Mochi Mayhem + more general ideas for if you treat them as a species, since a surprising amount of mythical+legendary pokemon are explicitely /not/ single specimen species, just very rare (Shaymin being mentioned as migrating, Latios and Latias entries mentioning flocks, etc)
Pleeease note I'm going to write a post about this with illustrations/partially in-universe perspective in a bit, but I did want to throw out my initial thoughts!!!
Also, with the exception of the first thing I say, I really encourage people to consider Pecharunt from an ecology perspective in their works alongside like. an individual pokemon with its own backstory, because I think that allows for richer more interesting stories! I think if you like Pecharunt and want to attack me with rocks for saying what I'm about to say, please feel free to write your own meta/opinions in your own post, because I also really like Pecharunt and would like to see more stuff written about it as an inidividual animal and also as a theoretical species. I think it's very cute. ^_^
Also I will note that this is steam of conscious style stuff; I may restate my points multiple times, sorry about that!
With that out of the way, let's look at the scarlet and violet website's entry.
The one that has people fighting about this thing's malice or lack thereof.
Tumblr media
'Uses Its Cunning To Survive' is a very evocative phrasing.
That line being so carefully combined with Pecharunt being described as 'sly' and doing actions such as pretending to be a baby Pokemon a la Happiny to gain sympathy, and possibly specifically mimicking /human/ kids in vocalization/etc depending on the tone you read it in... that is a very specific sort of evolutionary strategy that this calls to mind.
The information provided on this page, combined with the fact it apparently was living with an old couple, and the fact that in the story of Momotaro, the couple found the child in a peach floating down the river, and decided to raise the child as their own...
...Game Freak accidentally made a Mythical that is a brood parasite.
This probably sounds like I'm jumping to conclusions, but there's a couple other things that make me think that this is a reasonable conclusion about how a young instance of Pecharunt works.
To explain why, let's look at Pecharunt's movelist, and specifically its egg moves! Also, a quick review of what 'Brood Parasite' means.
Brood parasitism as an evolutionary strategy comes about since raising young takes a lot of time and effort; in the more standard usecases, like in birds, this tends towards an egg being placed in the nest, and the hatching animal outcompeting the host bird's actual young by crying louder and more consistently, or pushing them out of the nest to obtain more resources/attention.
Tumblr media
Much like Pecharunt, this may seem baffling at first (in cuckoo bird's case, because of the size disparity, and in Pecharunt's case, the Base Stat Total disparity)
This is not always the case, mind; Asian Koels tend to not push other young out the nest (though they still do it Sometimes), and the Black-headed duck is notable for having an extremely extended incubation time in which after that point the duck hatches and wanders off.
'But Pecharunt is a mythical, does it really need that much protection?' Well, lets look at a couple facts you may or may not already know. Here are Pecharunt's egg moves:
Tumblr media
Pecharunt at level one has extremely weak moves, and to make matters worse, Pecharunt is in one of the slowest exp gain groupings. Even worse, it learns new moves every eight levels when a lot of pokemon are getting new stuff to learn every four, and does not get a lot of good coverage moves at that!
To put it in even further context, Pecharunt learns Malignant Chain, its signature move and the one that specifically utilizes binding mochi in a more aggressive fashion than the firing mochi/serving mochi seen in game events and youtube video stuff, at level 48.
With that in mind, its growth rate seems to be in a similar range as something like the dragons.
A lot of Dark types, one of the things that Pecharunt is weak to, specifically exist in packs, which would leave smaller less experienced instances profoundly vulnerable. To add on this this, the areas I've been suspecting for original range + what in birdwatching stuff is termed as vagrancy (animal appearing way way outside of normal range) all don't just have Dark types, but in many cases /multiple/ species of Dark types. Poochyena, Houndour, Bisharp... all of these are dark types that live in packs or large groups. Even more notably, Poochyena and Mightyena in the wild have a chance of carrying Pecha Berries, which cure poison. Isn't that something.
These same evolutionary pressures could very reasonably result in Pecharunt's comically high defense! Mightyena and Poochyena are physical attackers, and a lot of the Dark moves Houndour and Doom learn by level up are physical.
On that note: Special Defense notably is /not/ Pecharunt's strong suit, and the weakness to Psychic means that any sufficiently nasty special attacker could rip through the lower hp pool hiding behind the physical defense like wet tissue paper. I'm going to specifically point at Beldum and Metagross and then smile serenely. Steel types in general would be a problem if in a sitation where its unable to utilize mochi properly. Which is where the 'subjugation pokemon' aspect, and its ecological strategy after its lengthy maturation would come about.
So, if Pecharunt were a species, they'd need a lot of extra care and protection to reach anywhere near maturity/full potential, and specifically that sort of care and protection from something or someone that can handle the things it can't whether that's via a more varied movepool/different typing, or the structures and technology of human beings in the pokemon setting (though in another post I mmmaay get into some thoughts about how if Pecharunt is a species, it probably is in decline in the modern Poke-setting. Stay tuned.)
A limited movepool makes sense if ecology-wise, Pecharunt is a parasite, even if one that is significantly more free-living than the ones these sort of things usually apply to; trait loss is pretty common with parasites as stuff gets delegated to hosts/host species. This is a Pokemon that doesn't need to have type coverage because its own ecology is based around commanding other Pokémon that do have the correct type coverage to defend it.
And since that's covered with Binding Mochi, all that it needs to be good at is the things that its movepool is geared towards; manipulating people and Pokémon to protect itself, giving pause and sympathy without the use of poison when it can't directly manipulate something, running away when /that/ fails utilizing Astonish to make a target flinch when alone and Parting Shot when with a retainer/bodyguard, and then finally as a last resort when an old enough/high enough level, the arsenal of extremely powerful non-mochi poison type moves, Malignant Chain, and Shadow Ball... so, the exact sort of actions that Pecharunt one for one takes in Mochi Mayhem.
Tumblr media
It even specifically attempts to flee after Arven and Penny are defeated, which lines up nicely with the possible usecase for Parting Shot!
Prior to learning Shadow Ball and Malignant Chain, It has a TON of moves that specifically take it out of the fight and put another Pokemon into the fight with advantages, like Memento and Parting Shot. This, in my opinion, gives credence to this being the in-universe reasoning for the movepool being what it is.
Memento in /particular/ being a move that goes so far as to risk fainting is uh. Interesting, especially since it's one of the moves learned at level 1!
Oh and speaking about its level one/egg moves: on the topic of Astonish!
I think that move reflects something really fun about the peach pit motif. Which is that I think the glowing interiors of the shell serve similar purposes to the false eyes on irl moths + also the pokemon Masquerain (who also learns astonish famously!) Imo, the false eye flashing analogue feels like a really easy pull to make.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A less move-oriented view of this is also kind of established in the scene with Arven and Penny!

This Pokemon tends to keep the shell closed outside of battle and certain interactions, and the scene specifically uses the kind of duller, slow moving animations for the closed form and then has them launch into the mochi thing, utilizing startle response/reflexive action to advantage, comedic as it is.
The mochi throwing also works really well as a two birds one stone defense measure for Pecharunt ecology-wise, as similar 'throw food that was being eaten in hopes predatory animals will give up chase to eat that' is actually pretty common, and hell, Legends Arceus has shown that bean cakes and muffins work very well against many pokemon.
You may ask, 'Invi, does that mean the shell being fully open for the entire mythical encounter fight mean they're puffing themself out like a cat as an agonistic display for the entire duration of the fight?'
Tumblr media
And to that I say...Quite possibly! Other instances of Pecharunt in the story showing itself probably land more into deimatic displays/startle displays like those used by butterflies and stick insects, but the fight instance probably specifically is agonistic, considering it starts making aggressive hissing 'chhhrah' noises, especially in contact with the Loyal Three.
As for the Binding Mochi from an ecology perspective/real life analogue... there's no completely direct analogue irl, but it serves two purposes that are very much common strategies!
What Pecharunt did by making the Loyal Three retainers + what it did to Mossui Town is a pretty open and shut example of bodyguard manipulation.
This is something more commonly seen in parasitoid species, but essentially, this is a subsection of behavior altering in parasites where you get your host to do stuff for you to keep you safe. Examples in our real world include wasp species that get caterpillars thrash if potential predators get too close.
In the Pokemon world, the go-to example would be Nihilego, whose venom has some similarities to Binding Mochi, but is noted as specifically messing with someone's preexisting abilities and impulses, while Pecharunt's alterations of its retainers tend to fall in line with their desires/wishes.
As for the fact it's a food item that gets other things to defend it, that's also common! Aphids and scale insects commonly produce honeydew, and get ants to defend them from predators in return for such.
As for it being mochi? The concept of something along those lines being produced as a starchy thing is also not that far out, as a number of psyllid bugs produce Lerps, which consist of sugars and starches. In the case of the bell lerp, which actually utilizes a bird, the Bell Miner, to avoid being attacked by other fauna and flora in return for continued consumption of aforementioned lerps!
I've focused on the brood parasite section, but overall I will say that after hitting Malignant Chain, it likely becomes a social parasite a la certain types of cuckoo bees, and these would essentially intergrade nicely (can start more actively controlling pokemon/people it's with already, move around more freely than the initially probably very nest-centralized movement to keep itself safe until its defenses can develop more properly).
Misc additional notes:
Interestingly enough, while Pecharunt has the 'no eggs discovered' thing, it does have a set amount of time to hatch in game data and it is specifically way shorter than most other Legendaries/Mythicals minus a couple notable exceptions like Terapagos and the guardian deities; Pecharunt's starts at 20, which is the same as eggs for starters like Bulbasaur and etc.
Like for context, most of the other guys have egg cycles of 80-120. This would match up to a really common phenomenon in brood parasites where the eggs actively hatch faster than the host animal's to get a leg up on resources and etc.
... I actually have even more thoughts specifically about what Pecharunt's habitat/original home was, and also a couple different theories about what it eats, as well as more granular things about like, physical stuff about this guy's body instead of a life cycle overview, but I'm going to save those for later because this is already ungodly long. Uhhh closing thoughts:
Tumblr media
Hold Pecharunt like hamburger, and give it one of every food and drink. It's safe to do this.

"Though, unironically, if you brought a legendary onto their battle lines, they'll just plainly reiterate the No Legendries rule and disqualify your current streak. Both will scold you lol" Funny enough some legendries are allowed on the Battle Subway. The legendary bird trio, the legendary beast trio, Latias & Latios, the Legendary Golem trio plus Regigigas, the Lake Trio, Cressalia, and Heatran all somehow got a pass since they can get on the Battle Subway. Maybe because they are considered low tier enough to get in? Although, I think it would be funnier if it was more of a case of a few legendary Pokémon being forgotten about when the list was being made. Or new Legendary Pokémon are discovered, and they don't get put on the list due to being new so not a lot of people know about them yet or because someone forgot to update the list with them on it. I just think it would be funny if a s/o went through the Battle Subway with like a Regigigas (or a Regieleki or something like that), reaches the twins, and the twins start their No Legendries rule speech only to be shut down with a "If they aren't allowed then why are they not on the list? They aren't on the ban list, so by the written rules technically I can use them." Can't actually be accused of breaking the rule if said Pokémon wasn't actually on the listed ban list. Be even funnier if the s/o brought a new legendary onto the train, and they are the reason said Pokémon is now on the banned list for the Battle Subway. You fight the twins with it, and at the end Emmet says "That was a verrry fun battle. I have never seen a legendary like that before." *Turns to Ingo* "Add it to the ban list." Jokes aside I sort of wonder what an updated Ban list would look like for the Battle Subway, and if any Ultra Beasts would end up on that list. Would be even funnier if s/o is the reason why a 'No Ultra beasts' rule got added onto the Battle Subway.
"Verrrry good! Verrrry talented!" His face drops from his smile into something annoyed as he turns to Ingo, "Ban list."
Ingo just pinches the bridge of his nose. Even if it wasn't explicitly on the ban list, you'd think his Depot Agents would realise that something a pokemon that brings death and destruction to all wouldn't be allowed on the trains. Yveltal Now Banned From The Battle Subway.
Hmmm, I think most main legendaries would be banned alongside things like Zygarde and Eternatus, but I don't think Regieleki and maybe the Tapus would be banned. I think mostly just big legendaries, extremely powerful legendaries. Ultra Beasts are probably banned on that reason. (Also, they probably just scare Ingo and Emmet.)
Their partner could definitely bring them all types of foreign legendaries and force them to begrudgingly update their list, though lol
I'd like to imagine they're more curious how the hell their love keeps capturing all these essentially gods and keeps bringing them specifically to them afterward to fuck with them.
