i would like to find a yarn color that is roughly close to this shade of orange:

as the doll is going to be using dark blue eyes and the contrast would look pretty good (ty to my friend for helping me narrow down colors here lol) but well. you would not believe how hard it is to find a more muted light orange. i have been to specialty yarn sites. if i did either of the two multi-colored yarns, it would be for highlights/still mostly orange just with other tones in there :) if u have specific opinions on this please comment bc good god i hate yarn shopping for this.

#twist rambles #bjd posting #technically. i am having the horrors of trying to figure out yarn for her bc NONE of my typical companies have the right yarn color. like #hex code E89052 is IMPOSSIBLE to get a color similar. i need a light orange but not TOO light and i want it to like... look ok w her dark #blue eyes. which REAL funny story about that is barely any dolls that look like her have dark blue eyes like... its mostly light blue. so i #is just a nightmare to logistics w colors. i really like the landscapes a LOT and i think it could be fun to do like... highlights/multicol #ored hair but well. lol. the horrors #ive been looking at the fruits one for days bc its like... genuinely so stunning and i think it could be fun to have small light highlights #mixed in there. but im sooo unsure of like. what would work best. i have to plan ahead before she comes in like... a couple weeks #ill srb a couple times :)#this is for miss yucky btw. for context. but im trying to get this sorted b4 the strike

Attempts at making old school lolita lingerie. Second evening.

Spent few hours trying to make this damn folds. Since I didn't sew anything for a long time, my fingers feel so numb and thick. As a wooden logs. Frustrating.

Surprisingly looks acceptable so far.

Made a pattern myself (kind of). The actual pattern is from dollybird, but for Unoa Zero. So I drew something similar, but with volks sizes and taking into account her body shapes.

Usually I just wrap dolls in foil/tape.

haul of a girl that can't pick a substyle

my first brand swimsuit and an usakumya necklace i was very excited about finding!!

i was missing several of the early volumes of GLB and was able to fill in the gaps with a few of those. i've been interested in researching the history of the fashion recently so i'm constantly hunting for old magazines! i've added GLB volumes 1-4 & 6 & 49--as well as "Frill" volume 1 and the "Maison Gothic & Lolita Style" book to my media collection.

a metamorphose Alice OP (2000) that i got on auction!! the double sleeves and center buttons down to the bottom are my favorite. it didn't come with the apron, but i was lucky enough that the one from a different Alice OP, also from the year 2000... was on auction on a different platform at the same time. i bought them separately intending to pair them together! i quite prefer the style of this rounder edged apron rather than the more squared top one it's meant to go with.

this is actually the dress that made me realize the Alice OP Set on lolibrary has a long version (similar to the maid OP from 2003 mini & long or the nun style OP mini & long)--i'll have to remind myself to submit a correction for the current OP to indicate the mini variation, and to submit a new entry for the long length one if i can manage to find more information... though i had no idea of its existence until recently! from an old LM sales listing, i found that the mini length is around 88 cm, whereas this one is 125 cm. i severely underestimated the length of this and it's down to my ankles, but i suppose it'll be my first long dress ^_^

for me, it's this little fake person who lives in my house:

this is Maryse. everybody say "hi, Maryse!" she was made some time in the early-mid 2010s as part of a limited blank, nude resin BJD line sculpted by artist Marina Bychkova (her face was most recently painted by the incredible Cat, "maybeawerewolf" on IG)

but Maryse has. much more famous porcelain sisters. and they look like this:

any gems or precious metals you see up there are real. for reference. this woman is not just a doll artist, but a seamstress and jeweler Par Excellence in the bargain

costumed porcelain Enchanted Dolls are the shining stars of the art doll world: dazzling and unreachable for all but a lucky (and usually deep-pocketed) few. the blank resin ones are rare enough to find secondhand- they're not being made anymore -but the porcelain are like..."if I marry a multimillionaire, may she propose to me with a porcelain Enchanted Doll holding a ring from a crackerjack box" status
