Why isn't there fanfiction where danny is adopted by someone other than batman? Like, yes, those stories are great, but you're all ignoring the other amazing ideas that could come from him being taken in by someone else

Prime example: Superman

Danny runs away and meets Clark Kent, boy Scout, who can't hear a heartbeat from this kid. Then, he takes him in, Danny is helpful to Lois, loving to Jon, and teaches Superman to treat Connor better because he didn't ask to be born, it's basically asking for hurt/comfort fic with an identity reveal and Danny and Connor being besties

Another one would be the flash, guy has a whole enemy that's literally death incarnation that chases him in the speed force (which is basically traveling through dimensions and time just like the realms) and is a very science guy, Danny being like an intern at star labs or them running into each other at a fast food place and one going 'this guy has death chasing him and realm travel stench' and flash being like 'yo dead meta??' Instant accidental adoption on Barry Allen's part

Another one, Hal Jordan green lantern, Space dad, just space dad, they'd share a sense of humour and Danny could bring down that cockiness alot, admittedly I don't have any kind of promt or idea for this but the dymanic is so easy to see in my mind

Could I ask you to rant about Leona/Vil?

Okay, since my current project has to dry, I've got some time on my hands to answer this question. Though I must say: You're rather brave for asking me this hahaha I'm not sure if you're aware of what you have done but I'm most delighted to rant about them (Though I hope I understood you correctly and you meant them as a duo/ship - Otherwise you gotta correct me). Sit down, my dear. Have a cup of tea while I'll be talking for hours.

In the beginning, I'd like to go on about their dynamic as it is. Later, I'll be bubbling all my lovely Headcanons out.

Their dynamic could be - in my opinion - classified as "enemies and lovers". Mutual annoyance with the tendency to insult the ever-living rainbow out of their asses. They're besties, they're exes, they hooked up at some point. I just know it and I'm here for it. Vil can't stop calling Leona pretty, visibly annoyed by his beauty (relatable). But both of them are known to have the habit of keeping up a certain image of themselves: Leona as the rough, "not caring" guy who acts all high and mighty but in reality, he does care - He just doesn't/can't/won't express that he cares (for most likely multiple reasons but that's a different story). And Vil? Well, it's obvious he has to only show his perfect side, no? He cares about people but he expresses it in a way that can and is seen as him forcing everyone to be their perfect selves. Yes, his tips might be unwanted (depending on who it is) but he still looks out for the people he cares about - And it's not a secret that he's nagging Leona every breathing moment if given the opportunity.

But there's something about these specific two that tickles a special part of my brain: Their trauma. Its source is entirely different yet practically carbon copies. Leona, the second born prince who could work as hard as he could possibly do and he'd be still "just" the second born, the shunned, a royal nobody. It is carved in his nature that he will never be first, he'll be never be the best - He's the eternal second place and no work will ever change it. Much more, there is this little person who's practically sunshine as a person - this little person that was the final brick on the wall that would part Leona forever from the first place: Cheka. What's worse is the fact that Cheka is entirely oblivious that he is a problem in Leonas life and his mental health. Cheka wants to be around his Uncle, wants them to play and get along well, unaware of how bothersome he truly is (in Leonas eyes).

And it's the same with Vil. He is not bound by blood to his personal "final brick" but it's just as persistent. Ever since he was a kid, he wouldn't be the last one standing, the number one, the star. He was the Villain, the second one, he belonged in the shadow. A shadow that would cause the "hero" to shine even brighter: Neige. A ray of sunshine, the hero, the number one. It would not matter how much Vil would work on his acting, on himself, on everything - As long as Neige existed, he was nothing more than the shadow.

Having this deep understanding and relations - without having the same source of "bother" - they could support each other like no other could. Sure, people can listen to them (if they'd ever open up to begin with) but it's different, it's more intimate, if the person *knows* the pain. Talking and knowing that the person in front of you bleeds from the very same wounds, it's a special bond.

(That's why I also adore the dynamic between Leona and Jamil)

Now that I explained the base of my sight on this Duo/ship, I would like to introduce my headcanons to this lovely ship because I believe that it makes this ship even better.

When Leona first saw Vil, he mistook him for a girl and treated him with utmost respect (since he has a natural respect for women). It took him several weeks to realize that Vil is indeed a guy. He immediately dropped his manners and became the Leona we know - Much to Vils annoyance because in his eyes, Leona became suddenly an arrogant asshole and refused to elaborate why the sudden shift in attitude happened.

For my next headcanon, I first have to mention an HC I have for/about Vil: I genuinely believe that he has an issue with potions / is addicted to them. We know that he's extremely talented when it comes to brewing potions - Not to mention that his Unique Magic supports his abilities if needed. Being the prominent person he is, he has undoubtedly dealt with extreme stress, probably (extreme) pain, self-doubt and most likely self-hate as well. So if it becomes extremely bad, he would get himself a potion to calm the thoughts and stress, giving him similar experiences to taking drugs. Obviously, he wouldn't want to see others that he even remotely does such measures to get himself in a calmer state, so he genuinely keeps himself hidden in quiet places of the school. Unfortunately, he once thought hiding in the Botanical Garden was a great idea - It was not. A certain feline was - as usual - in the garden and immediately noticed something was off. Not only did he notice the messed up mental state of the "Oh so perfect" Vil Schoenheit but he also smelled the faint scent of some potion. He first wanted to be the usual cocky guy but decided differently. Even with the potion, Vil was in a bad shape and it was quite easy to tell. Sitting on the floor, leaning against the tree, completely fatigued. Leona decided to get him a bottle of water and placed it in silence next to him and leaned against the other side of the tree. They didn't talk, they just sat there. Neither of them would ever talk about this situation but it became a habit of the two of them for a while (until Vil has started to catch Rooks attention more and more).

-> After Vil overblotted, they met again on the tree. It was as if Vil was seeking comfort by the silence of the feline. If there was silence, there would be no judgment, there would not be Betrayal and what he needed most after the competition was a person who gave comfort that he could trust in.

They also have shared custody over Epel, trust me. I know, many see Rook and Vil as Epels "parents" but having Leona and Vil to be his "parents" would make more sense: The strict mom that wants Epel to make use of his potential (which are unfortunately his feminine charms) while Leona is his Sports dad, the "masculinity" Epel admires and wants so badly.

And that concludes my rant for now.

-chays fits so well from a symbolic, “stands are a reflection of ones soul” perspective too. Like even though he’s a warrior, at heart he the main thing he cares about is taking care of his family though both physical protection and just general wellbeing. Such a good pick for him

-Hermit purple is such a good pick with tallulah. Im imagining phil sighing as he pulls out another camera for her to destroy before they eventually start having super cheap ones on hand for that exact purpose

-Listen i see purple haze for leo, i get it i can see the vision. But my fugo loving brain refuses to let go of what purple haze means for him as a stand symbolically and wants to give it to q!cellbit EVEN THOUGH WERE ONLY TALKING ABOUT THE EGGS.

Anyways in context of only assigning stands to the eggs 100% i think she should get out purple haze, but if were talking about everyone i also think born this way would be a really good fit for her and i cant quite explain why outside of the vibes just mathcing in my head

-Pomme would be so sweet to the pistols too, she would make sure they get the best treats. I think at first she would struggle with keeping them in line but with etoiles help she would be the perfect balance of stern and sweet.

-richas with heavens door would be the absolute worst. Like the biggest menace ever. He would use it on his parents to make it so they could never give him a bath again and then they would have to find a work around for what doesnt count as bath but still technically got him clean until their able to convince him to reverse it.

Style of Combat: Magic is her weapon of choice. She's particularly fond of spells that can take out several enemies at once. She's not so great at melee and that's when her team comes in handy.

Most Prized Possession: A rose quartz teardrop necklace. It was gift from someone from her past who she still holds dear, but she never talks about them.

Deepest Desire: She wants to get over her past trauma, but doesn't want to actually have to unpack it. She seems to believe if she ignores it, it'll go away. She's convinced if she can just make all the pain stop, she'll finally have the happy life she's always wanted.

Guilty Pleasure: She loves badly written books. She reads some of them with her closest friends and she'll genuinely have a fun time with them. Of course, she likes good books, too. The bad ones just have such a charm to them.

Best-Kept Secret: Her entire past. She's never told a soul about where she comes from or what's happened to her. She's so good at hiding it, it's almost an art form.

Greatest Strength: She's one of the most reliable people you'll ever meet. She's a natural born leader and she has a huge heart. It's a little broken, but it beats ferociously.

Bad Habit: Avoiding her trauma is the number one bad habit. She's easily agitated and startled because of her PTSD. Even when she knows someone is there, she might still jump which annoys her to no end. She's a perfectionist that also overloads herself with work constantly.

Hidden Talent: She's incredibly gifted at mathematics. She's the kind of person who can quickly calculate equations in head. She's also likes to knit and she's gotten good at it.

Leisure Activity: She loves going to pleasure gardens which are probably the closest she can get to an amusement park. (In her original universe @thebonnevillegame, she loves amusement parks.) She also considers practicing magic a leisure activity. Other than that, she knits and reads.

Comfort Food: Sweet Potatoes and Baldurian Mash

Favorite Person: On a platonic level, it's her besties Minty and Ingrid. She also becomes good friends with Bex, Wyll, and Gale. Romantically speaking, she falls for Lae'zel. So, yeah, Cora is basically a Santana Lopez variant, just with more money - fashionable, bitchy, and in relative denial about being a lesbian. She’s basically in the midst of a long-lasting tantrum when she first starts at Forks High, constantly getting in trouble for picking fights with teachers and other students and refusing to make one single friend, purely because she hates that her family was forced to run away after her father got thrown out of office and she doesn’t want to live in Forks at all.

But along comes sweet Alice, who of course sees how sad about this sudden change Cora is under all the anger she feels and hides behind (with some help from Jasper, of course, because if they’re not gonna be together he might as well be her ultimate wingman), and makes it her mission to be kind to Cora and not let the other girl push her away. Cora doesn’t appreciate it at all at first, but eventually she starts to warm up to Alice and is even able to come to terms with her sexuality and confess her feelings to the other girl.

Not exactly happy when she finds out that the Cullens are vampires, because she hates being lied to or having secrets kept from her, but it doesn’t take that long for her to forgive Alice since she understands why she would have had to keep that secret. She never allows Alice to turn her, but she still loves her girlfriend exactly how she is, fangs and all.

She kind of becomes besties with Bella, since they can bond over the “plain old humans who fell in love with Cullens” thing, and she’s even named Renesmee’s godmother when she’s born. She’s less than pleased about the whole thing with Renesmee and Jacob, to say the least, but she still makes it her mission to spoil that little girl rotten and protect her with her life.

1. I can envision Chris wielding either a Yellow one which symbolizes his ideals for hope as per the color’s meaning or Purple due to it being a balance of Light Side Blue and Dark Side Red as it pertains to himself being a hero, a Light side type despite his past as someone born to the Dark Side. Then there’s Jake who for certain has Blue as it not only reflects his Father’s main color and his own but he’s loyal to the tenet of Justice as per that color’s meaning in Star Wars lore.

2. She’s considered an Honorary member of the Duo, meaning it can be an expected sight to see her join on their adventures and patrols in addition to having her own spare bedroom at their Fortress. It just it’s more common seeing her along with her besties Lian and Irey

3. Chris is a tad bit more likely than Jake would be on the scale utilizing lethal force, being 5/10 while the latter is 3/10 at most. Both are drilled no doubt making sure they follow the One Rule as much as possible though Chris has a tiny subconscious imprint of taking out enemies with finality due to Zod’s very tough approach to raising him. It’s a consistent internal struggle Chris finds himself in during extremely difficult battles, especially if Jake is hurt during said battles.

4. The Graysons are the ones hosting the Halloween party, only it’s being held at Titans Tower, allowing not just their own family but also the families of the other Titans, the Kents and the Batfam to gather without spacing issues

5. With three pumpkins carved in total, I can see one being their team symbol, followed up by one with a Bat and the last one being Haley and Krypto playing together

6. Chris - Tried a livestream of him dancing in his room, accidentally kicking a lamp which threw him off and resulted in him crashing all over said room. That or the time Jake and him went to a monster movie he’d seen already but when Jake was worried if he missed the good parts after going to the bathroom, Chris, likely too engaged with the movie itself, accidentally blurted out spoilers to the whole crowd

Jake - Tried to train Haley on Joe to play basketball similar to Air Bud, even getting on his hands and knees like a puppy to give her visual aid. Unfortunately for him, someone caught that on his phone and showed the footage to his class the next day. Jake strived and tries taking it in good faith but needless to say, that blush on his face stayed for the whole day

Together - Taking the T Car for a joyride around the city, only to have it get stolen by Gizmo after winning a race with him. Needless to say, Vic wasn’t happy with the two as they worked together to get it back

my brain is poopoo i forgot to add one thing sorry again 😭

i don't think the scoia'tael could ever change their mind about roche and ves simply because they're wiping out their race. no matter the cause the elves would never forgive them nor would they wanted to cooperate with them in any way unless it's convenient. they can't just say 'oh i was just protecting my country but now im different let me help you' and the elves would forgive them or let them near. they don't need their pity nor they help. the least they can do is leave them alone and help non-humans other ways.

this is the main reason why i can't bring myself to ship rorveth...yes they respect each others abilities in canon but that doesn't erase the fact that roche is still an oppressor (again no matter the motives) and iorveth would only force himself to work with him but never respect him as a person and be "besties". neither would roche tbh because iorveth is no saint and also killed his fair share of innocent people. they fucked up each others lives too much for their relationship to "work" and there's no place in their heart for forgiveness.

Yeah that's pretty much how I feel about the Scoiatael too! I do think Iorveth would eventually accept Roche's help maybe in a military venture if he really needed it and if Roche was genuinely offering, or that they could get past their issues with each other in order to work through a crisis. They do genuinly share a enemy in Nilfgaard, and Roche's inability to see that is his downfall. But then once the immedaute crisis is over... why would Iorveth stick around or even let Roche walk away cleanly?

I just think this is something that can only exist in fanfic, and can maybe be fun or interesting to think about/read about when expanding on the possibilities of their characters, but I personally wouldn't WANT it to be canon, because it would create inconsistencies in both their stories and established motives - which you did say in your last ask, I'm agreeing! (I mean I don't want true friendship/romance, not them being forced to work together. I want that. That would be fun. RIP Iorveth at the battle of Kaer Morhen :( you should have been there king!)

(about your other ask) Idk, I actually don't have any issue with people labeling Roche as a flat out monster. If you're coming at it as someone who's primarily sympathetic to the Elves, it's like you said, it really doesn't matter what his motives or situation was, he was participating in their violent oppression as a leader. He still has a lot of fans who won't acknowledge how evil his work pre-tw2 was, that's a greater problem to me (not talking about you ofc). And Iorveth...lmao other than him be willing to let those women die in the burning building, I can't help but cheer for his bloody methods of justice in ways the Blue Stripes will never get out of me. It's the witcher, everyone's burned a few churches, at least Iorveth was doing it for a good cause 😩

As for Roche, I personally I like him best as a metaphor for armed patriotism - perhaps more historical than modern, but I think both work. Men born into poverty who are coerced into the military by governments that don't value them at all (but like to give them medals as propaganda/empty motivation) while only using them as tool in their violence against other nations/people. Being devalued, abused, covered in blood, becoming a mass murderer all for some paltry veteran discounts and a lifetime of trauma. That's the character work I'd want to see with him, but for future witcher games, I'd be much happier to see Iorveth come back and regain his spotlight, so who really knows.

so this is mostly based on my partner and i's rewrite of biomutant lore that expands on a lot of the concepts presented in the original game. so there's some details i'm taking from there rather than from the game. dw about it <3

general info: in this universe, magic does exist, but only in very specific forms, and it's referred to as psi-magic (or psi-powers). there are two major forms: innate psi-powers, which are easier to master but generally weaker; and environmental psi-powers, which are generally stronger but harder to control. essentially, innate psi-powers are ones you're born with, while environmental ones are ones that are triggered by exposure to certain environmental stimuli.

there's also a whole mythology around psi-powers but we don't have time for that <3 so i'll run over some of my biomutant ocs' psi-powers!!

sol whitetail - sol whitetail has a case of incredibly powerful environmental psi-powers that they have effectively mastered in a very short time. they don't have a name for this ability, but for those who know biomutant, it's based on the 'rad wisps' mutation in the game.

effectively, sol's body is highly radioactive after they were brutalized and left to die in a radioactive zone years ago. though they recovered physically, the radiation never truly left their body, and over time they've taught themself to harness it in combat in the form of bright violet bursts. they're immune to it, but no one else really is.

sol essentially can just bombard those around them with radiation until they succumb to radiation poisoning. it's as brutal as it sounds. they rarely let it get that far, though, and mostly they use it for intimidation. especially because, if they expend themself TOO much, their body begins to break down slightly and their violet, radioactive blood leaks from their eyes and nose.

blink nocturne - blink nocturne has innate psi-powers, and at first glance his main ability doesn't seem particularly intimidating or useful in combat. he can teleport short distances at high speeds, creating a loud booming sound like a thunderclap. for those who know biomutant a li'l better, yes this is based on the 'blink' psi-power in game.

blink did name his ability after himself, as is generally the custom in this universe. he also found a good way to apply it in combat: if he gets enough of a running start, he can 'blink' himself towards an enemy with enough force to knock them back and do some serious damage.

his psi-powers don't have nearly the same level of dramatic side effects as sol's, but they still take a toll on him physically, especially in his bad leg (which was permanently injured when he was young). he can only 'blink' so many times before he needs to lie down and rest, so he uses this ability sparingly.

burgh mothmouth - burgh's psi-powers are innate in that they weren't triggered by any environmental factors, but he wasn't born with them. rather, he taught himself to use this ability after observing other, more experienced psi-power users doing this. his ability is, as you may be able to guess if you're familiar with the base game, based on the 'moth mouth' ability.

essentially, burgh can release a green mist, which takes the shape of fluttering moths, at those around him, which clouds their senses and disorients them. in extreme cases, overexposure to burgh's 'moth mouth' can cause permanent blindness. while it's not very useful in direct combat, as burgh must be concentrating to keep the mist in place, it is fantastic for ambushes.

burgh primarily uses 'moth mouth' to disorient those he's sneaking up on, making them have a harder time defending themselves against him when he finally strikes. occasionally, he also uses it to turn his enemies against each other, making them fight each other instead of him (and giving him a chance to flee, if needed).

tegu longshot - tegu actually has no psi-powers. i considered giving them some, but they don't. and they're fine with that.

marco followed his fathers footsteps into teaching - he felt he was forced into it.

he felt the pressure form his parents to lead by example for his siblings. an italian mother and a chinese father were very vocal in telling him if he wasn't meeting their expectations.

he was closest to alessandra out of his siblings, he felt over protective of the only girl in the family

he was a wreck when she ran away, he blamed himself for not being able to protect her from whatever caused her to run away

hates the sinclair family - he believes that they were something to do with why alessandra ran away years ago. he'd never liked jace and always felt like he was never good enough for his sister and he made no effort to hide that.

their parents were well liked around town but when alessandra ran away, idle gossip and rumours were thrown around that they were bad people and why she may have run away. marco got in plenty of fights defending his families honour during this time.

years passed and he went into teaching, eventually working up the ranks to become vice principal of huntsville elementary and keeping his duty of teaching the second grade.

when he saw alessandra in town again, he thought he saw a ghost. he damn near collapsed at the sight of her. it was talk of the town when she resurfaced.

he had to break the news to her that their parents and other two siblings had died - how they died? well that's something he's keeping to himself

well here she is, the shiv roy of the ryan family.

THE BIO;

they say third time's the charm and that rang true when aoife became the third born child to charlotte and christopher ryan, and a few years later along came the rest. a turbulent childhood followed with the parents of the ryan children not holding any interest in their kids and that left the elder children to look after the younger children.

aoife was forced to grow up fast with louis leaving town when she was a child and bri leaving a few years after - louis returned on occasion whenever aoife had to call him. from the time her older siblings left town, aoife was up to the plate to play parent to her younger siblings and her parents. while she didn't blame louis or bri to go live their lives, she did feel some resentment that she never got the option to live hers. even now at times that resentment can rear it's ugly head but the siblings normally fight it out and it works itself out. being a proud woman, she only ever called louis when when desperate times became desperate measures and that became a reality when she had to call her siblings and break the news that their dad was in hospital and it wasn't looking good. then her mother fell suit of falling into worse health and suddenly aoife was juggling it all until louis returned to town when she was twenty three and helped take some of the weight of the world off her shoulders.

like her younger siblings, she never got the opportunity to go see the world by the time the paradox hit. zach chose to get a place of his own and so did aoife, though she took in the younger ryan's to look after them since her mom couldn't (and wouldn't). she balanced being a parent while she studied and trained to become a paediatrician and eventually qualified and took up residence at the huntsville clinic. aoife has a maternal instinct and it shows when she's taking care of her siblings or looking after the kids she sees at the clinic. she's always wanted to have a family but she found out that she can't have children which has only added to her frustrations of being stuck in town.

years later she's had time to mentally work on her resentment and mourn the idea of having her own children, but she tries to put that aside for the sake of her family. they're stuck together now whether they all liked it or not, she might as well try to make it civil on her part.

OTHER NOTES;

If anything, Akiko thought all she did was manage her fright better. That was everything she had ever done, was it not? Mastering herself; staying in control, no matter what. 

Even if the sensation of Tobirama's chakra inside of her head, coating her network - practically pressing against her skull, her eye, shifting through - seemed to be trying her will still.

"You know, you could really consider touching up your medical jutsu skills," Akiko had murmured once after another of their sessions, once Tobirama had released her from his proverbial and literal grip. She rubbed her eyes.

"I am a combat medic however," Tobirama countered tersely as he was rounding the table. It wasn't the first time Akiko had complained. "And my examination skills are honed for greatest precision - exactly what is needed right now, given the goal is analysing the anatomy and the function of your Sharingan."

Akiko did not give in to the temptation of wagging her jaw mockingly as he explained that to her again. "I couldn't have hazarded a guess, really," she deadpanned anyhow.

He had taken a seat across the table now, where the notebook with the research notes laid. Apparently Tobirama considered writing his findings down more important than engaging in yet another spat with her. He always did - right away, after finishing examining her. Akiko once made a quip about it, to which he oddly sternly replied it was vital to write it all down while it was fresh.

But the more they did this, the more she wondered if these procedures also didn't do something to him.

She decided to simply keep on observing him.

Either way, both his averseness to exchanging quips with her as well as his dauntless focus really said something. His dedication was admirable. And a little bit frightening.

Unfortunately, he was not wrong about his skills either - they made progress in creating a rather detailed anatomical overview of the Sharingan and its connections inside her nervous system. Tobirama's schematic drawings were sharply accurate - Akiko found the fact he gleaned all this from rummaging inside her skull forcibly awing still. As though he dissected her by using a medical examination technique only - and making her turn her Sharingan on and off, over and over.

Maybe a tad disturbing, especially given their little argument.

But her curiosity won out, in the end.

The anatomy was becoming a more complex thing with each passing day. Akiko resigned herself to it - it shouldn't surprise her with the various different uses the Sharingan had. It was a quaint sensation anyhow - anytime she was on her next scouting mission with Sato's squad to observe the Inuzuka border, she'd reminisce about these findings, his sketches. It wasn't just her Sharingan, it's abilities anymore - there was… more to it.
