Zeus died soon after Heron was born and Heron got his powers and when he uses it/gets overwhelmed it slowly kills him.

Everything in general starts outside the same: Zeus cheats, the twins are born, and etc. Except, before Zeus puts Electra in a secure hiding spot, Hera gathers the gods and confronts him over interfering in the fate of the woman and child. They fight and Hera is so upset he was actually willing to go to war over these two that she delivers the final blow and just to spite her in his final moments, Zeus hits Heron with a bolt that puts the rest of his power in him.

Hera doesn't know where Electra is yet but Electra knows that after a couple of days' absence that Zeus definitely isn't coming back and it is just her against the world at that point so she cuts her hair and does the best she can to be someone else. This is hard because everytime Heron cries severe thunder storms start and everyone in Olympus can feel the power. His mother is worried over it too because everytime this happens he gets a little cold.

Ares catches Electra settling down by the polis in the show, as does Apollo, and goes to tell Hera. The gods in general believe all this power will kill Heron before anything serious could happen so she doesn't do a thing yet. She can just wait for him to croak, letting Electra suffer before killing her herself. However, Heron manages to live to childhood and slowly learning to control himself and his emotions because Electra told him what happened in the form of a bedtime story and he doesn't want to put his mom in danger/make his colds worsen.

Cut to where the series start and Heron is in his late teens/early twenties and the people come to test his mother for being a demon: he freaks out and it is by far his biggest storm yet. Literally lighting starts striking really close to where they all stand and he's swinging and it gets REALLY bad when that man somehow manages to burn her anyway. Literally everyone finds out he isn't dead and Hera is livid.

Apollo conspires with Artemis and Hermes to find their brother and get him somewhere safe. The whole demon invasion happens and Hera allows Alexia to escape because she is now straight up bloodthirsty. Seraphim kills Electra and Heron, already weak from his storm earlier, goes into another complete fit before passing out and is locked in a different cage than the other prisoners because Seraphim believes he's protected by the gods. Or alternatively, Heron has a fit, makes a storm and Seraphim puts two and two together and knocks him out.

Ares goes out to go collect Heron because Seraphim will probably find out about him and utilize him, making him a major threat to Olympus in the long run. Hermes tags along because he can't let Heron fall into Hera's hands.

Heron is weak and tired in his cage and Evios and Kofi start talking to him. He can't really respond but they manage to keep him awake long enough that when they get on the galley, they come up with the plan. Seraphim finally gets confirmation that Heron has Zeus' power when he uses it to protect his new friends and essentially sinks in the ocean only for Poseidon to wash everyone to shore and away from sexy demon man.

Hermes, being how he is, finds Heron first laid out on the beach about to die and calls Apollo. Kofi and Evios are really freaked out about what just happened but they're not just going to let some random dudes snatch up their friend and get ready to fight until Apollo explains everything. They come up with a plan for Hermes to take Heron to the underworld under the ruse that he's dead, which he almost is, and Kofi and Evios can watch over him on the shore with the wraiths while Hermes and Apollo link back up with Ares and go back to Olympus with the news. Alexia jumps in offers her help that she can get Chiron to take care of Heron after they lie to Hera and he can hide out there.

Ares isn't stupid and knows Heron isn't dead but nonetheless allows his brothers to lie because the demigod is no longer in Seraphim's hands and is on the brink of death (he thinks that if Heron dies, Zeus can finally come back and his mother will calm down and let this all go) and if he doesn't die on his own he can kill the boy himself.
