Claim (Alpha Eijiro x Omega Reader)
Day 3 of Breedingtober
Tumblr media
<<MASTERLIST>>
The zombie Apocalypse is never a great place for an Omega, but Eijiro appears in your life making it a bit easier.
Warning: This chapter does depict signs of domestic abuse and intimidation done to reader BUT NOT DESCRIBED, GUNS, Shooting, Undead, OMEGAVERSE, ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE AU, SMUT, KNOTS, slick, cum, BREEDING KINK, praise and slight degradation, blow job, deep throat, mentions of saliva, BLOOD, biting CROSS OVER ALERT- Kuroko no Basketball (this is unnecessary to the story plot, I just needed characters. If you have read my story Ikigai, you'll be pretty familiar with the layout of the camp and other shit)
9,6k words
Eijiro paused as he waited for anything to happen, anything at all. He took a moment before motioning forward. The group moved forward, rifles out as they neared the motel that seemed otherwise unoccupied from the outside, however the boarded up windows were a concern that would be tackled in the moment.
Katsuki paused at the look of the old motel. Despite the apocalypse, it looked pretty good, stable, for a building that had survived the apocalypse. He glanced to his right from the tree he stood behind. “Sero.” He voiced out lowly.
Sero swallowed down hard as he looked through his scope. The tall lanky Beta was up in the tree tops, having stayed out of sight and higher up in the foliage to ensure that if they did have any enemies that were alive, they wouldn’t see him. “Its dark. I don’t see any movement inside.”
The blond glanced to the giant red head beside him. The large Prime Alpha was quiet for a moment as he surveyed the area for another second. He nodded. “On my lead, Izuku and Shoto watch our six.” He stated simply as he moved forward past the tree line towards the back of the motel.
The back door didn’t seem boarded up or nearly as crowded. There weren’t any undead in sight, and if they were, they had a bullet hole in their head that suggested that they weren’t a threat. Eijiro stood in front of the door, Katsuki staying to the left side of the door pointing his rifle so that if the door opened and there was someone inside he could have access to the right side of the room, while Mina did the same on the right side. Eijiro took a moment, before trying the door handle. It was locked.
Of course, it was.
Eijiro hardened his hand, crushing the lock with ease and opening the door. Inside he was met with darkness. He was quiet as he moved to feel for a light switch. Right as he felt the switch he smelt a scent. Recent. Too recent to not still be in the room. Just as he switched on the lights there was a loud bang sound.
“Eijiro!”
Katsuki and Mina immediately both had their riffled aimed inside the room as the sound of a bullet clattering to the ground was heard. The room was heavily silent. There were six people in the room from what Katsuki could tell but that didn’t matter because they all had their eyes on Eijiro. Eijiro had hardened his head, and with a sort of metallic sound, he was back to normal. Not a scratch on him.
He let out a breath as he looked around the room. “And this is why I go in first.” He let out truthfully.
“I thought you shot that guy!” A red haired man said as well. His hair was a ruby red and short with eyebrows that sort of reminded Mina of Tokoyami’s head. He held a gun up as well as he looked to his comrade who had fired the shot.
The Alpha hadn’t taken his eyes off of Eijiro for a second, dark blue eyes with matching colour hair. His tanned skin contrasting favourably with his hair as he held the gun with a trained grip. “I did, Kagami, unless you didn’t notice that the guy can turn into a fucking rock.”
There was another tall one with green hair and matching eyes, he adjusted his glasses as he looked at the intruders with a judgemental and analytical look in his eyes. “Then shoot one of the others.”
Eijiro took a step forward, putting everyone else on edge. “I wouldn’t advice that, pal.” He let out roughly as he frowned at the glasses wearing one. “Lets be civil about this.”
“Civil my ass.” The blue one scoffed with a low underlying growl. He snarled over at them. “You trespass on our grounds and you wanna be civil.” Katsuki scowled with a low growl, however that wasn’t what had Aomine so irked. Aomine, the blue one, let out another growl. “And this giant rock isn’t even looking at me.”
“It’s because he’s smart.” A man who sat in a magenta chair spoke out as he had Eijiro’s full attention. Although he was shorter than the other Alphas in the room he had an air of dominance and control that clearly showed who had the most amount of power here. His gaze was heavy on Eijiro but Eijiro didn’t back down. The large redhead held his gaze as if he had nothing better to do. Akashi scoffed but smiled, as he pushed himself off the chair. “Akashi Seijuro, Head Alpha of the Generation of Miracles.” He spoke leisurably.
At this point, Katsuki had motioned for Shoto and Izuku to come inside to make the playing ground more fair. “Kirishima Eijiro, Head Alpha of Pack A.” Eijiro responded.
Akashi put his hands behind his back, not a gun on him as he walked to stand in front of Eijiro. “Why are you here? You’re not dead yet, which means you’ve survived long enough to have your own resources. So why come here?”
Eijiro looked around the room. He shrugged not feeling particularly up to answering. “Truthfully, we were bored.”
His answer caused the other Miracles to growl. At the sound of their growling, Katsuki, Izuku and Shoto returned it. Akashi put a hand up that stopped their growling. He frowned at the taller Prime Alpha, his presence imposing on him. Unlike Akashi, there was a hierarchy here now that waws upset because of Eijiro’s appearance. As the only Apex in the room, it meant that he was at the top. And that never set well with Akashi because he was always at the top.
Eijiro sniffed before his eyebrows raised slightly. He sniffed again as he looked towards a large purple haired Alpha that seemed to be blocking something. Something that smelt much too sweet to be an Alpha’s scent. His eyebrows twitched as he felt his Alpha stir at the scent.
Akashi didn’t like that.
“Let go of me!” You whined as you pushed against Murasakibara, the larger than life purple haired Alpha that looked rather tired and drained. He looked a lot like Shinso in that aspect. “I wanna see.”
He looked back to you with a low growl as you were stuffed in a corner behind him. “No, Y/N-chin. Aka-chin said no.” He reasoned.
You let out a low hiss, your scent turning sour in anger. “Seijuro!” You shouted from where you were. You dropped to the flow, peaking from behind the tall Alpha’s legs to look at the Head Alpha of your group. That’s when Eijiro first saw you, with a frown on your face and determination in your eyes. Eijiro’s Alpha perked up at the sight of you. You were the most beautiful Omega he had ever seen in his life. You frowned as you looked to the Alpha who didn’t even look at you, who was too busy scowling at Eijiro’s attention on you to notice much of your anger. “Seijuro, tell him to let me go.”
“Y/N, I told you to get in the other room with Tetsuya and you didn’t listen.” He reminded you, when you had first spotted Pack A from outside.
You rolled your eyes. “They’re people, Seijuro, just like we are.” You reasoned as you put a hand to your chest. That didn’t seem to sit well with the other Alpha at all. You rolled your eyes as you turned to look up at Eijiro, your eyes looking up at him with something he wasn’t entirely sure what to call. “Excuse me, Head Alpha Kirishima,” You spoke with your head slightly down and exposing your neck towards him. At the sign of respect and submission, Eijiro couldn’t help but find you looking even more tempting. An approving rumble left his chest, showing that he was willing to listen to you. Akashi motioned for Murasakibara and Kise, who were the closest to you in your group, to block you out of sight, which made you let out a small yelp. At the sound Katsuki glanced at Eijiro who scowled at Akashi.
With another hiss you somehow managed to bully your way out from their grasp. “I swear I will bite your knots off!” You glared at the two of them for trying to stop you. The both of them lifted up their hands in surrender as you glared at them. You then turned back to Eijiro. Akashi, moved to block your path, showing he didn’t want you moving closer to the other Alpha. You frowned at him, but obeyed him as your Head Alpha. “Head Alpha Kirishima, tell me, is your pack based near here?”
Eijiro’s gaze eased at the sight of you. He nodded. “Yes, it is. Maybe a day’s walk away but nothing that can’t be tackled. Just further out of the city.”
You hummed as you nodded your head at that information. He could tell that slowly you were releasing your sweet scent into the air to try and calm things down and decrease the tension. As the only Omega in the room, Eijiro was appreciative of your actions. “How many pack members?”
“Twenty-One.” He answered simply.
You perked up at the number and glanced at Aomine with a pointed glare. It was a wordless exchange with the large blue haired Alpha but he scowled and looked away with a tsk. He knew what you were trying to tell him. If he had killed Eijiro, you all would have been way too over your head with the group you were dealing with.
You turned back to look at Eijiro. You swallowed down heavily before looking between Akashi and Eijiro. “It’s futile fighting it’s futile trying to kill each other. How about we talk about a possible alliance or maybe even… merge.” At the mention of your suggestion, Akashi let out a low growl at you. His magenta eyes bore into you with almost malice at the thought. You lowered your stature slightly but stood your ground. You took a step closer to him. “We need it, Seijuro.” You whispered to him before turning to Eijiro. “Humanity is better together than separated. Don’t you think, Head Alpha Kirishima?” You asked.
Eijiro hesitated as he saw Izuku and Katsuki glance at each other before glancing at him. Eijiro let out a heavy breath as he thought on it for a moment. “More people mean more mouths to feed, it means more noise, it means more attraction from bad people or the undead.” He explained.
“It also means more hands to help and more eyes on the ground.” You rebutted. Eijiro’s eyebrow twitched with a slight smirk. You shrugged. “Its better to have packmates than uncertain friends.”
Eijiro looked to Katsuki. The blond Alpha looked up to him before looking over at the group in front of him. Then his eyes looked to you. Then he looked to Eijiro. Eijiro looked over to Izuku. The green haired Alpha glared at the opposing side but then looked to his Head Alpha. He huffed but kept his grip on his rifle. Eijiro looked to Akashi but answered to you. “I’m willing to discuss.”
Akashi scowled.
You smiled. “Wonderful! Please, it’s late and its past sunset. Stay the night.” You encouraged, happy to see new faces as you looked around to all of them brightly. Your packmates were not so bubbly.
It took a long time for the negotiations to be met and for either side to be somewhat happy. You also got to learn all their names. You learnt quickly that the pink woman’s name was Ashido Mina, she was a beta and she was very extroverted and lovely. Although the other Omega in your group, Kuroko Tetsuya wasn’t so eager about her extervertedness, you didn’t seem to mind. Then there was the other Beta in the group, and Mina’s partner, Sero Hanta. He was nice and rather laid back and didn’t seem bothered by the Alphas in the room. Then there was an Alpha similar to him, Todoroki Shoto. From then you realised that they were all old heroes from before the world went to shit. Shoto was just as you remember him from all the girls that had crushes on him, stoic and quiet. Then there was the loud Alpha that you knew from the tabloids, Bakugou Katsuki. The blond was trigger happy which was a bad combination with Aomine and Kise but they were pretty satiated easily.
Then there were two Alphas that peaked your interest. First was the green haired Alpha with freckles on his cheeks and a dangerous yet friendly look in his eyes that could change at any moment. Midoriya Izuku. At first you thought the Alpha was a rather friendly a passive person, and you weren’t too offput by his presence, but you realised the undertones of a prime Alpha in him. It was clear that he wasn’t trying to present himself as such and yet he carried a presence to him. Then lastly was the Alpha that you couldn’t help but keep your eyes on, Kirishima Eijiro. He was the largest out of their group, pure muscle and an absolute tank of an Alpha. Although he was friendly to you, always looking deep into your eyes as if he could read you like an open book, he held a firm presence to him that told you why he was Head Alpha. Even when you went to bed last night, in a room upstairs with Tetsuya, you couldn’t help but think about him.
How large he was. How deep his ruby eyes were. How sharp those teeth were that could puncture into your neck so easily.
It was such thoughts that plagued your brain. You tried not to think about them as the next day you had a lot of walking and relocating to do. You were quickly ushered to putting on your scent blockers along with Kuroko because of how dangerous it was for Omegas now in this new world. Zombies were drawn to Omega’s scents like flies to a carcass. It was horrifying how one sniff of the scent could send them all barrelling towards the closest Omega first. So you had to be careful and under the radar as you travelled.
The best part of travelling is that everyone had to be quiet in order for it to be successful and for you all not to attract attention, which meant no fighting of the two opposing groups. However, Eijiro was right as the further you left from the city, deeper into the woods, just a days walk, did you reach large walls made out of metal and wood that blocked out anything from the outside, it was well hidden too which was a good thing. With a wave from Eijiro, you were all allowed inside into the large compound.
At the sight and sound of bustling people working around the area, you couldn’t help but feel excited and almost nostalgic at the sight. The camp had one side with a river as its border so that there was a constant source of water. The sound of the river seemed to numb most sounds of the people inside making it a great noise canceler. It almost seemed like it used to be a camping site, with cabins and a cafeteria too. Of course, there were newly built structures too and tents too, but it was functional, and it was working and it was beautiful.
You were quickly introduced to the pack and to the few other Omegas that were there, and you were put into a cabin with some other Omegas, away from the Alphas in the Miracles for the first time in a long time. It was almost relieving to have your own space again in some sort of way. And you also had a hot meal. You hadn’t had one in a long time, but you did have one.
You were happy in this new camp with all these new people too.
You sat on a tree stump around one of the fires that were lit to keep people warm. You looked up at the stars, looking at how bright they were without the city lights and all the pollution. It was a bit of a chilly night, but that was to be expected near a river.
“Hey.” You turned your attention over to Eijiro who moved over to sit next to you on another old stump. The large Alpha held two hot cups in his hands. He wore a light sweater that suited him well as he offered the one cup to you.
You smiled warmly at the gift and accepted. “Evening Head Alpha Kirishima, thank you.” You bowed your head in gratitude as you looked down at the cup. It smelt like tea which you were now very grateful for. You held the mug between your hands as you kept your body warm.
“No, please.” He waved a hand down. “No need for the formalities, Eijiro is fine.” He assured you.
“You are Head Alpha of his pack,” You said reminding him. “I have to acknowledge that.”
Eijiro looked at you for a moment intrigued by the statement. He scoffed as he looked down. “Well, at the end of the day, I’m just Eijiro. But if you want, Kirishima is also fine.” He informed you as he turned to look at you, the light of the fire illuminating in his ruby eyes. “So, how have you been? How’s the pack treating you? I hope the duties you were assigned aren’t too much.”
You smiled. “Well. Very well. And don’t worry about the duties, I understand. We all have to pitch in to help and keep this place running, it only makes sense.” You assured him of your understanding as you nodded your head. “You’re all so nice and I’ve made some good friends, like Mina, Momo and Pony, even with Shinso. I’m…” You looked up to the stars once again with a smile. “I’m glad I’m here.”
Eijiro watched you for a moment. He wasn’t sure what was wrong with him and why he was so fascinated by you. You were something else entirely and he loved to watch you. He could sense so much from within you. At first, he was worried it was just because you were an Omega and conveniently, a good looking one at that. There weren’t many Omegas left and he was worried that his dumb Alpha just wanted you for your second gender. However, watching you as practical Head Omega of your group, watching your reasoning and your way of thinking was more attractive than anything physical.
Eijiro looked down at his cup, “Well…” he turned to look at you. “I’m glad that you’re here.” You turned to him in surprise at the statement, your eyes wide as you stared at the Alpha next to you. “From what I’ve seen, you’ve been doing well here. Not many people can adapt as easily as you have.” He spoke truthfully. You ignored the warmth in your face as being caused by the fire and not his words.
You moved to drink from your tea before it got cold. You swallowed down hard. “So… what have you been up to?” You asked him.
He let out a breath. “Been moving and chopping some logs and had some meetings with Iida and Akashi and the others, by the way, he really doesn’t like it here.” You giggled making him smile. “I’m serious, he acts like I’m condemning him to hell.”
“He’s just…” You hesitated as you let out a soft scoff. “He doesn’t like change.”
Eijiro nodded as he kept looking at his cup. He took a sip of his own tea as a comfortable silence settled between the two of you. The low rush of the river and crickets nearby along with the hush of people talking behind you filled the space between the both of you. “So… is he your Alpha?” He asked casually, but felt a heavy stone at the back of his throat.
You snorted as you shook your head. “God no. None of them are. I mean… sure we’re a pack and I’m an Omega so, I don’t really have much chose when it comes to…” You stopped yourself before you got too personally, and looked down at your grip on your cup. Your grip was harsh. “But I’ve never let one of them claim me. I mean, it’s the end of the fucking world and I shouldn’t be so picky… so many Omegas out there who didn’t make it would kill to have a choice of mate like me, but I…” Your voice trailed on, not entirely sure what more there was to say.
Eijiro nodded his head as he looked at you. “Hey.” You turned to him. “You aren’t forced to be with any of them. You’re free to do what you want and be with whoever you want.”
You scoffed softly. “That’s easy for you to say, Mr Head Alpha…” you spoke lowly. “I’ve already accepted life as an Omega in this world. If I’m not with a pack, I’m either waiting to die at the hands of zombies or going to be stolen away by people worse. Omegas are scarce and when people start getting comfortable, pack Omegas are the first people to look to. I understand my role as a femme in this world. Doesn’t make me helpless but it’s a scary truth. I don’t really have a choice.”
“You have a choice in pack.” You paused at what he was saying as you turned to look at him. Eijiro straightened up his posture. “That’s all up to you.”
You looked at him a bit unsure in what he was implying. You opened your mouth to speak.
“Y/N!” You visibly jumped out of your skin as you turned to look back at Akashi and Aomine. Both Alphas looked angry with who you had been found talking to. Aomine glared at Eijiro with a low growl. Akashi didn’t say anything but you already knew what he was saying to you.
You swallowed down hard before looking to Eijiro. Eijiro tensed at the smell of your scent, heavy and laced with anxiety and fear. You gave him a weak smile and a nod. “Thank you for the chat.” You spoke lowly as you left behind the tea you had and left over to them.
Eijiro watched with a worried look as Aomine grabbed the back of your neck making you let out a small yelp as he stirred you away from Eijiro along with them. Akashi didn’t say anything as he glanced back at Eijiro. He huffed before turning to look back forward again, ignoring the other Alpha. Eijiro had an uneasy feeling in his stomach, a worried feeling about you.
Eijiro moved fast and quickly to the one of the Omegan barracks. His heart beating loudly in his ears as he tried to be quick about it. What Mina had told him was limited but enough to make the Alpha’s hair stand up in worry. He was light on his feet as he finally reached the cabin he was looking for. He opened the door, the room vacant all for one person.
You were sitting on a chair near a window. You turned to look at him, and that’s when he saw it. Bruises on the side of your face, recent enough for Eijiro to know that they weren’t old. Dried blood was on your bottom lip. You stood up in surprise. “Head Alpha Ki-”
You couldn’t finish your statement as Eijiro crossed the room in short strides and immediately cupped your face, looking at the bruises on you. “What happened?” He asked, a furrow to his brows and worry in his voice. “Who did this to you?” He asked with a low underlying growl as he inspected your condition.
You moved your face out of his grasp with a sigh. "You need to leave."
He paused for a second before frowning. “I’m not leaving until you tell me what happened and we get you help.” He stepped closer to you but you took a step further away from him.
“No, I can’t be seen talking to you.” You stated, turning away from him. You held your arms closer to your body not wanting him to press forward on that matter. Part of you was hoping he would just go away so that you could be in peace.
Eijiro paused. His eyebrows furrowed. “It was him, wasn’t it?” He asked lowly.
You didn’t answer as you tightened your grip on yourself as you tried to ignore that question. You heard a low growl from Eijiro in annoyance. You sighed, closing your eyes. “What does it matter?” You asked softly with a shrug. “It’s fine. You don’t have to worry about it.”
“I am going to worry about it!”
“Why?”
“Because-” Eijiro stopped himself at his raised voice. You turned back to look at him as he had his eyes closed and he took a deep breath. His scent was raging, releasing pheromones of aggression and anger, but it quickly changed to having a heavy undertone of worry and care. He opened his eyes and looked to you. You watched his handsome face ease as he stepped closer to you.
The large Alpha let out a low chuft from the back of his throat, asking for permission to touch you this time. You hesitated but nodded your head with a soft chirp. He gently caressed your cheek, his thumb grazing over the bruise so lightly you didn’t even feel it. A low rumble came out of his chest, almost in a comforting sense. You looked up at him with wide eyes, looking into his ruby ones. He looked so concerned, eyebrows furrowed as if he wondered how someone could even think of hurting you. He leaned down forward, and you squeezed your eyes shut, bracing for something to happen.
It took a moment, but nothing happened. When you opened your eyes this time, Eijiro had put his forehead against yours. His rumble only grew louder as he lightly scented you. You were stiff for a moment before relaxing, allowing him to scent you. You let out a hum as you lifted your neck, exposing it as he leaned forward.
His large hands went to rest on your hips as he pulled you closer, affectionately scenting you. You weren’t sure what to make of this, but it made your heart leap out of your chest and your Omega purred like a generator. You felt a flush rise up your neck. You weren’t usually this swayed but his large figure dwarfing you as he held you to his side made you feel butterflies that you had never felt since the end of this stupid world.
He let out a deep breath. “If you would allow me…” He started lowly. “I want to take care of you.” You listened to what he was saying but was half distracted by the feeling of his thumb stroking your arm. “But I can’t do that if you don’t want to be part of my pack… if you don’t want to be mine.”
You looked up at him half unsure. “But what about Akashi and the others. They would never allow it.”
“It doesn’t matter what they allow.” He lets out sternly. “I’m Head Alpha.” He moved his hand to lift your chin up to look at him. He raised a single eyebrow. “Aren’t I… Omega?”
Your eyes glanced down at his lips before looking back up at his eyes. Your mind went numb for a second but you nodded your head. “Yes… you are.”
You felt almost like you couldn’t breathe in his arms and yet you wanted him. You wanted him more than you wanted to breathe. You could feel it in the air, it was as palpable as ever. It was almost suffocating. He was right in front of you and you didn’t know what to do. You wanted him against you. You wanted him to consume you. You wanted him to ravage you and take you as his own. You wanted his bite on your neck. It ached and thrummed between your legs almost as consistently as your heartbeat.
You turned your head, trying to breathe, trying to align your thoughts once again. However, it didn’t even last a second that you tried to recollect yourself as Eijiro moved your face towards him. His lips claimed yours in security and assurance. It was slow and it was gentle. You weren’t even sure if it was real. All you knew was that you could feel the heat that radiated off of him and you wanted more of it.
The moment he pulled away, letting out a soft breath you wrapped your arms around his neck, pulling him back down again. Eijiro let out a low rumble as he reached to put his hands back on your hips. He deepened the kiss, holding you tighter. You closed your eyes as you let yourself be consumed by his figure. For a second, just in his embrace, you could forget about everything and focus on the Alpha in front of you.
Eijiro stumbled back with you in his arms, putting your back against the wooden wall of the cabin. You gasped as Eijiro gripped your thighs and hoisted you up. He let out a determined growl as he held you up with little effort. He once again attacked your lips, his need to be with you, clasped around you, inside you, was so great it almost made him want to discard everything going on and sink into your soft cunt.
He could smell how needy you were, he could smell it in your scent and he could taste it on your lips. He loved it more than anything.
But he had to be patient.
Eijiro leaned back as he took a deep inhale and angled his face down away from you. His breaths laboured as well as your own. You could feel his half hard cock against you, making you whine as your thighs twitched. You nudged his jaw with your nose as he held you up. You had never felt such a strong and almost careless bond with someone like this before. It felt almost as if you had no control over your body, as if you were entirely acting off of instinct.
And yet it felt almost amazing.
He let out a low sigh as he brought his face to the crook of your neck. “You’re staying with me.”
You closed your eyes as you felt the beat of his heart against the palm of your hand as you rest it on his heart. You nodded your head. “Okay.”
“WHERE ARE THEY!” Akashi shouted as he pushed past others to move towards Eijiro who stood talking to Bakugou before he had to pause to look at the angry alpha. Eijiro turned towards him with a raised eyebrow. Akashi moved with Aomine and Kagami behind him as he moved towards Eijiro. At the confrontation, immediately Bakugou turned on the defensive as he started growling, staying at Eijiro’s side. Akashi had an angry look in his eyes, one that couldn’t help but ripple off of him in waves of his scent. “Where are they?”
Kirishima looked down at him before shrugging. “I don’t know who you’re talking about-”
“Don’t play stupid with me, Kirishima.” he let out threateningly. “Where the fuck is my Omega?”
“I didn’t know you had one.”
Aomine rolled his eyes getting fed up on behalf of all of them. “Y/N! Where is Y/N!”
Eijiro blinked before putting on a surprised face. “Oh Y/N…” He let out as he folded his arms. “Y/N is safe away from you.”
“Away from us?” Aomine stepped forward causing Katsuki to do the same. Noticing the scuffle, Izuku paused with a basket of nectarines in his arms. He handed them to Shoto who’s eyes widened in surprise before heading over to Eijiro and Katsuki’s side. Aomine scoffed before looking to Eijiro. “They are our Omega!”
Eijiro’s grip on his arm tightened as he glared over at them. “You don’t deserved the privilege of having an Omega if you lay a hand on them.”
Aomine opened his mouth but paused. Akashi had a hand up, signalling for him to keep quiet. His gaze hardened as he looked at Kirishima, he took a step forward. “They are our Omega. A masc, let alone a Head Alpha, has right to discipline their Omega how they see fit.”
“Discipline? Slapping an Omega, that’s what you call discipline?” Eijiro asked, his patience wearing thin as he stepped forward, suddenly, the area around them grew quiet as people stopped what they were doing to spectate the group. “How dare you treat an Omega like that?”
Akashi scoffed. “It’s none of your concern.”
“It’s all of my concern as Head Alpha.”
The magenta haired Alpha growled in annoyance. “You worry about your pack members and I’ll worry about mine.”
All it took was one glance to Aomine and suddenly there was a gun pointed at Katsuki. Everything happened so fast, Eijiro wasn’t entirely sure if he could even say a single word before it happened. He froze as the piercing sound rang through the air, everyone diving down in fear of the bullet. Eijiro’s heart stopped as he could barely breathe.
Katsuki was down on the ground, Izuku having tackled the blond Alpha before the shot could have gotten him. Katsuki put his hands to his head, feeling that he was in fact alive and not dead. However, Izuku let out a pained groan from atop of him. It was then that Katsuki quickly realised the green haired Alpha had been shot in his place. Warm hot blood spilt down from Izuku onto Katsuki making the blond trigger in a reaction. “Deku!” He pushed Izuku up, trying to see where all the blood that was now falling onto him was coming from. Izuku’s shoulder had an entrance hole from the bullet in it as he let out  pained groans as he held his shoulder. His eyes were squeezed shut as in agony as he bit down on his bottom lip. He bit back pained cries as he lay in Katsuki’s lap now. Katsuki put a hand to Izuku’s face. “You fucking idiot… It’s okay, it’s alright.” Katsuki said lowly. He looked up at one of the bystanders. “SOMEONE CALL A FUCKING MEDIC!”
Eijiro was frozen before looking at Akashi. Katsuki looked up and watched as Eijiro’s eyes turned black as his arm hardened.
You paced back and forth as you stood outside the medical bay on the grounds. The screaming had stopped a few hours ago. It was enough to make one sick. When you had heard all that had happened while you stayed in Eijiro’s cabin, you felt absolutely ridden with guilt. Learning that Izuku had taken a built all because of a scuffle concerning you had you feeling as though maybe you had done the wrong thing.
The door opened into the late evening air, the cycads singing the entire time. You looked up to Eijiro who closed the door behind him. He let out a heavy breath but smiled at you. “He’s going to be fine.” You let out a relieved breath, nearly falling to your knees. “Whoa!” Eijiro quickly caught you in his arms, holding you up.
You leaned your head against his chest as you tried to fight back the tears that spilt from your eyes. “Oh thank goodness.” You whispered in relief. “I was so worried. I couldn’t bare it if he-” You couldn’t say it as it got stuck in your throat.
Eijiro gave you a gentle smile before shaking your head. “No, don’t worry. Recovery girl is one of the best in the game, and her quirk is healing so he’ll make a good recovery. We just don’t have anaesthesia left so he had to go through removing the bullet awake. He passed out not too long ago though.” He reported. You kept your eyes squeezed shut as you held onto him for dear life. Eijiro frowned as he pet down your back. He picked you up and started walking down the dirt path.
You all had to be especially quiet after all that had happened. From the gun shot, to the fight that had happened afterwards, it was way too much noise and brought enough dead to your door that was unnecessary. You hard heard that Eijiro, Iida, Shinso and Sero had effectively kicked the miracles out of the community. It was only due to the sheer number of undead outside was the reason they didn’t kill them.
Alive enemies were worse than dead ones.
But you just hoped they wouldn’t bother any of the pack again. You didn’t want to be the cause of problems.
Eijiro carried you safely in his arms towards his cabin. Most of the pack had gone to dinner or were with Izuku currently. You chose to wait outside, wanting some time to yourself. Although the Omegas comforted you through it, telling you that this wasn’t because of you and none of this was your fault, you still felt consumed by guilt.
Eijiro entered his cabin, closing the door back with his foot as he walked over to his bedroom. This cabin wasn’t bigger than the others, but Eijiro had it all to himself (Head Alpha perks). He placed you carefully on the bed before crouching in front of you. “Hey…” He let out lowly as he held your hands in his own large ones. You looked at him, his ruby eyes lulling you in as he talked to you. “You’re safe now. You’re safe. You’re with me.”
You swallowed down hard as you nodded your head. You gave him a weak smile before looking down at your hands. You let out a stuttered breath. “Eijiro…” You started.
“Hm?”
“Why?”
“Why what?”
“Why are you doing this?” You looked up at him so damn confused. You didn’t understand it. You didn’t understand him, you couldn’t understand him. It didn’t make sense. There were Omegas, femmes that here that had been with his pack longer, gorgeous and trustworthy, that were more worth the attention than you felt you were. You shrugged as you gave him a slight cynical smile. “I don’t get it. You could have just cut your losses and just left me out with them. It wouldn’t have been that hard. One of your pack members wouldn’t have been nearly killed because of me.”
Eijiro watched you speak wordlessly, watching your eyes entranced almost. A sad smile on his face as he watched you gently. “Y/N when I first met you… I found your presence captivating.” He spoke softly. His thumb traced over the knuckles of your fingers as he did so. “Your reasoning and commitment towards the betterment of the people around you and the community you find yourself in was… well, it was admirable. I found it admirable. I found myself drawn to you. I would have done this for any Omega that found themselves in this situation, it isn’t right to be treated that way. However,” He reached a hand up to your face, gently caressing you. “I found myself entranced with you… I hope you can forgive me for that.”
You swallowed down hard before a small sad smile came to your face. You shook your head as tears came to your eyes. “There’s nothing to forgive.” You shrugged with a soft whisper.
Eijiro smiled making the butterflies in your stomach flutter. Eijiro… you couldn’t help but get so giggly with him around. He made you feel like a young Omega all over again with a crush that felt way too good for you. You smiled as you leaned down to him, placing a kiss to your face. Eijiro chuckled but kissed you back with a rumble out of his chest.
You found yourself purring in response as you reached for his shirt, pulling him closer to you. Eijiro once again, found himself too deep in your scent, your touch, your presence to think logically even though he had only started kissing you two seconds ago. He moved to slowly push you back onto the bed, falling back with your back against the sheets. He caged you in easily making you feel so small underneath him.
Eijiro hummed at the taste of you on his lips. You wrapped your arms around his neck, trying to pull him in closer as you moved your hips up, your legs wrapping themselves around his torso. Eijiro pressed in further down. With one rut down against you, you both separated with a heavy groan into the air. The feeling of his clothed sex against your own made you feel so damn needy. It almost made you just want to rip your clothes of and jump on his cock until he knotted you. Part of you didn’t even want foreplay. You just wanted him.
You both found yourself in a steady movement of him grinding his hardening bulge against your own clothed cunt that was now covered in slick. You whined as you tightened your hold on him, burying your face in the crook of his neck. Eijiro moved to try and lick over your scent gland. Immediately he moaned at the taste of you on his tongue. He loved it. He wanted more. Which is exactly what he did, lapping at your scent gland wanting to have the taste of you memorised on his tongue.
You moaned at the feeling of his hot tongue on your neck. A small hiss escaping your lips as you felt sharp canines just skim over your neck. “Alpha…” You let out into the air, making a low rumble thunder out of his chest, causing a shiver to run down your spine.
Eijiro moved to unbutton your shirt, moving to undress you as he kept you pinned underneath him. His cock was aching and he couldn’t think straight. He couldn’t think past finally getting you on his cock, even as he slipped off his own shirt. Not with the way you were now looking up at him, bare and wide eyed as you stared up at him like a doe in headlights. It was an exhilarating feeling that had him aching to be one with you.
Just as he moved to push a finger inside you, you put a hand to his wrist, stopping him. You shook your head. Instantly that raised red flags in his head. Although you could guess just by the bulge in his cargo pants alone, Eijiro was big.
Okay, that was a lie.
He was fucking huge.
The last thing he wanted to do was hurt you by trying to bully his cock in a space that wouldn’t fit him. Although the thought of forcing his cock inside you, seeing the way your whole would struggle to accommodate him as you whined with tears in your eyes, you barely being able to breathe as Eijiro stretched you out further than any Alpha could before… it made a part of him excited which half scared him.
“Let me…” You pushed him back to stand as you sat up on the bed. You shuffled off the bed as well before slowly sinking to your knees. “Let me service you, Alpha.” You said as you slowly sank to your knees, keeping your eyes on him. You watched his ruby eyes slowly turn dark as he swallowed down hard. He allowed it with a deep grunt making you smile.
You stared at the bulge in front of you as you were positioned on your knees. You were careful as you found a comfortable position to stay in. You carefully moved to unzip his pants, taking down the zipper as you pulled down his pants first with a bit of his help, allowing him to step out of them. You then moved to pull down his briefs and thank God you had fast reflexes, the else you might have gotten smacked in the face.
Your eyes widened as you were met with the monster in front of you. A thick girthy cock that you were sure had you drooling. It was beautiful. Thick and heavy, leaking pre from the tip that made you want to kiss it. You wondered how on earth you were gonna take it inside you. But then the thought of struggling on such a beast had slick slipping out of you and onto your thighs.
Wanna read the rest of this smutty deliciousness? Head over to the link below!! This is one of my more spicy ones so, it belongs and will stay on AO3. DO NOT REPOST ON ANY OTHER PLATFORM ANY OF MY WORK.

Mortal Kombat x Bimbo Reader
Another test run, and these are just bullet points not full blown stories. I've already written another bimbo reader post so I suggest checking that out. Please do requests if this isn't enough.
This one is just Bi Han, Kuai Liang, Hanzo, Shang Tsung and Johnny.
"I need to die looking good."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bi Han Noob Saibot
He doesn't understand your constant need to dress up and put makeup on, but he won't say anything about it. A lot of women are just like that, so Bi Han just figured it's a female thing. Misogynistic of him, but he doesn't care.
While seeing him training you gladly set up a chair and watched him from afar whilst drinking a cocktail, and you've attached yourself to him ever since. He couldn't take you seriously at first, but he could only admit to himself that your dense personality was a little adorable.
When the blood got too much you would hide your face in his chest, which he didn't mind even though some makeup stains would go on his clothes.
When he returned as Noob Saibot he swore to make you drop dead gorgeous, even if you already were. But you would join him in death as his revenant lover. Quan Chi was sure to give you the best manicures so long as you were loyal to him.
Tumblr media
Kuai Liang
As a man that puts Lin Kuei traditions in high regard he could understand your need for the newest fashion and dressing well. He showed you his wardrobe and you decided to copy his style, which he found adorable.
He likes having tea with you, but you're certain he must try a frappe or at least a smoothie.
Kuai isn't one for public affection, Lin Kuei and all, but he lets you climb over him. If he's not disciplining Frost or the other Lin Kuei then he's snogging you in the snow. After you drag him into it at least. He only initiates things first if you guys are alone.
Although you didn't understand a lot of things he could appreciate you being there for him to give comfort on sensitive topics.
Tumblr media
Hanzo 'Scorpion' Hasashi
It was like talking to a different Johnny Cage in his opinion. It was a bit jarring to have you flirting with him and not get the slightest hint that he's not interested since revenge was on his mind. It was after he was brought back as Hanzo Hasashi that he appreciated your presence more.
The Shirai Ryu are ninjas, so that meant blending into society when on mission and you had a lot of things to say about clothing choices.
The Shirai Ryu shrine looked better than he remembered, you had given him ideas on the layout and studied a thing or two on Japanese culture to make it legit.
When he caught you teaching the new members cheerleading moves he knew he had to be more welcoming with you, because those were complicated moves. And it showed him you were no stranger to teamwork. Hanzo could see the beauty in that.
Tumblr media
Shang Tsung
This villainous man came across you giving Mileena style tips and fixing her hair. He had no clue how you snuck into the private parts of the palace, but he suspected you were partially from the Chaosrealm.
Mileena didn't react well to your absence, and after Kitana's rejection she seemed to have formed an attachment to you so Shang expected you around the palace. Shao Kahn was glad that Mileena had a nice person to look up to, so he was fine with you in the palace.
Shang had you participate in the tournament for a reason, but he underestimated your powers as well as your fighting abilities. Such beauty in combat is rare.
Tumblr media
Johnny Cage
Barbie and Ken in the eyes of many Earthrealmers, but you two are the 'it' couple when it comes to vanity, expensive taste, and being drama queens.
He is your husband, your best friend, and your mirror. Your super power was convenience and getting yourself out of serious situations, but how it acted up was at random times. Johnny could relate to that.
In the meantime, you could both bathe in the spotlight, and the cameras. And your friends from home can be jealous and gush about you marrying an actor.
It was a match made in pink and green.

༊*·˚ Until I Say So
CHARACTERS: John Price x M! Reader (F! Reader here)
RATING: NSFW
CONTENTS: Military reader, canon typical violence, Price thinks reader needs a little extra training after they get compromised during a mission, may be inaccuracies in the fighting, porn with plot because I can’t write it without, established relationship, relationship with a superior <3, sparring as foreplay, unprotected sex, semi-public sex, voyeurism (?), multiple orgasms, nicknames used: muppet, darling, love
ೃ⁀➷ WORD COUNT: 2K
“--How copy?” Price’s voice crackled through the comms, rough in all the right places and with just the slightest bit of worry buried deep beneath his impassive tone. It couldn’t be helped, worrying about you came naturally to him, like donning a second skin he couldn’t seem to shed no matter how hard he tried. He really did try. In his line of work, he couldn’t afford to worry, it was a distraction when he needed to be anything but. Distractions could cost a life.
Subconsciously, Price tightened the grip he had on his rifle, trying to convince himself the sudden tension in his body was from the mission itself and not you. Although he really shouldn’t have been tense over that either. The operation was a simple two-person job with him acting as overwatch while you mapped out the interior of a warehouse suspected to be owned by a high-profile cartel. During debriefing Laswell had confirmed that the warehouse would be empty until the following week when shipments would first start arriving.
Meaning it should have been an easy in and out. Childs play really, and yet the silence seemed to stretch eons as he continued to scan the windows of the warehouse, searching for any sign of movement. For any sign of you. The sound of static filtered through the air, startling him, and then your voice came through, low and slightly breathy.
“All good so far Captain. Warehouse appears empty.”
Your voice was like a shot of comfort directly to his nervous system. The tension in his body seemed to fade. His grip slackened but remained steady as he continued searching the windows. “Good. Map the layout and get out. Quickly yeah?” There was the sound of static again and then your hushed laughter- more an exhale than an actual laugh.
“Sounds like you’re worried sir.”
He was. Of course, he was.
“Focus Sergeant.” It wasn’t a direct command but it had the same effect regardless. On the other side of the comms, you fell silent returning your attention back to the objective you’d been given. Eventually, finally, he caught sight of you, moving with the efficiency that had been drilled into you as a rookie.
Price watched as you dipped in and out of side rooms his heart seeming to still until you came back into the focus of his scope standing just in his line of sight. Your head was tilted up towards the window as if you could see him and the thought sent a secret thrill up his spine.
“All finished here sir, heading back your way.”
“Good work, Sergeant.” The praise fell from his lips easily. Like a secret only you were privy to. His words hung briefly between you two disappearing like mist on a summer day as something flashed behind you, a streak of silver turned a blinding white by the moonlight cast through the cracking windows.
The warehouse was supposed to be empty.
The shadowy figure behind you crumpled to the ground, dead by the silent bullet Price had put through his brain. A moment too late. Just a moment. You looked up through the shattered glass one hand around your neck attempting to stop the blood that leaked through your shaking fingers.
♡ 。 。
Price loomed above you his legs bracketing your hips, keeping you pinned firmly to the floor in a position that was vaguely familiar. He smelled of cigar smoke and sweat, a combination you would have found comfort in had you not been wrestling with him for some semblance of control. You thrashed in his grip fists coming up to connect harshly against his chest. The force of it drew a small wheeze from him that morphed into a growl as he dug the blunt edge of a knife unceremoniously against your neck. It rested just above the jagged scar splitting your throat and when he pressed down just a bit more you felt the warning behind it, gaze finding his in defeat.
He shook his head at the look withdrawing from you, watching as you rolled over, panting from exertion and the vaguest hint of something else. Sweat collected near your hairline and dripped slowly down your nose leaving a dark stain on the mat below you.
“Get up muppet.” The words fell from him, in a harsh bark that had your mind dizzy with the possibilities of what else he could command you to do. Weakly, every bone in your body aching with the movement, you pulled yourself to your feet, stumbling slightly to the side.
“Can’t we take a break Captain?” You wiped the sweat from your brow with the edge of your shirt, the movement revealing a strip of scarred skin. His gaze flickered to it unthinkingly. “I just got dismissed from medical you know.” Your shirt dropped back in place and he frowned simultaneously at the loss of such a sight and your words.
“And why were you put there in the first place Sergeant?” Price challenged. You sighed through your nose and he took that as a sign of defeat gesturing with the plastic knife in a ‘come on’ motion. “Again.” His gaze remained steady on yours as you circled the mat together, each waiting for the other to make the first move.
Taking initiative you lunged for him, your dominant hand swinging out in a messy hook. Price ducked easily beneath the arm you had thrown out, pivoting so he could slam his foot into the back of your knee. You crumpled to the ground hands coming out to catch you, but he dragged you back with his forearm secured around your chest and the knife flat against your throat.
“Compromised again Sergeant.” His voice was a whisper against the shell of your ear. “You’re getting sloppy.”
You squeezed your eyes tightly together trying to fight off the arousal you felt aching between your legs. It’d been there since he’d first walked through the training room doors wearing a compression shirt that showed everything off in just the right way and sweatpants that hung dangerously low. With each press of your bodies together- each struggle for control it’d only intensified turning into a burning heat you needed so desperately to satisfy.
“I’m tired.” You offered in weak defence. The hard muscle of his thigh sat temptingly between your legs and you slowly let yourself relax in his grip, allowing you to subtly grind against his leg.
“Tired eh?” Price brought his thigh up pressing harder into your semi-hard cock and drawing a whimper from your lips as you met him halfway. Maybe not so subtle then. The knife tumbled to the floor as he settled his hands on your hips helping assist in the slow grind of you against him. Your chin dropped towards your chest at the sensation, thighs burning with the effort of keeping you upright. Price slid a hand beneath your jaw forcing your head up and turning it towards him so he could bring your mouth to his in a heated kiss. It was lazy on your part, your body sluggish from the training you’d gone through, and when you pulled back your eyes remained half-lidded.
Price smiled at the look. “You truly are a sight for sore eyes darlin’.”
The compliment did nothing but fuel your desperation. You arched further into him, nose brushing the skin of his throat. “I need you.” It was a quiet plea. A beg for him to relieve you of your own painful arousal. His hand slid beneath the band of your sweatpants teasingly and you thought for a moment he just might, but his fingers skimmed across your clothed cock with barely-there touches.
“Now?” He applied the slightest bit of pressure and you squirmed, hips rocking against his hand desperately. “Where anyone could see you?” You nodded pathetically, grinding yourself downwards in search of something more but it wasn’t enough.
“Fuckin’ tease.” Price chuckled as he hauled you off his lap, repositioning you so you were laid out flat on your back. He slid your sweatpants and underwear down to your ankles, revealing more of you to his hungry gaze. Every inch of your skin was intoxicating, each scar and blemish stirring something in him.
His cock was heavy in his hands and unsurprisingly hard as he angled it against your entrance. You grabbed for the back of his neck nails scraping against the short hair there as he entered you. It wasn’t slow by any means and it burned with every inch he forced forward but it was good. So good. Your eyes fluttered closed nails digging into his scalp as he rocked against you. It was rough, needy almost. His fingers dug into your sides pulling you in, each thrust opening you further.
“I was worried about you.” Price confessed on a particularly hard thrust that had your eyes rolling back into your head. “Bloody bastard should have never touched you.” His voice was thick with emotion, a sound so rare it had your eyes blearily finding his.
“Wasn’t your fault-” You whined attempting to lift your head up but failing miserably as he fucked you harshly into the mat. Clumsily you sought out his hand squeezing it reassuringly, the touch the best you could offer when he was filling you so completely. Price seemed to understand though. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to your temple, his beard scraping against your skin.
“Won’t happen again yeah?”
There was a sureness to his words, a casual confidence that left no room for argument. Although- you certainly were in no position to argue as it was. Price somehow sensing your impending orgasm soothed a hand down your sweaty face, eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled down at you. “Go on love, I know you’re close.” His words and the look on his face were horribly tender, a startling contrast to the way his hips snapped against yours, rough and without mercy.
Your legs tightened around his waist drawing him closer to you as you came. Price didn’t slow in the slightest bit. If anything he picked up in pace watching the way your eyes flew open. Overstimulation drew you up onto your forearms, one hand shooting out to steady yourself on his shoulder.
“John!”
He chuckled the sound lost in the skin of your neck. Each drag of his cock felt like heaven and hell all at once. The overstimulation was bringing you back up to that previous peak quicker than you could form the words for. It didn’t help either the way he continued to stroke your cock, drawing his thumb in lazy circles across the leaking tip and delighting at the pitiful sounds it drew from you. You were already hard again. Painfully so.
“You gonna come again, love?” You nodded chest heaving with the effort of drawing air into your poor lungs. Price nipped at the junction between your neck and shoulder smiling. “Good.” He continued rutting into you, the slick sounds of his hand around your cock obscene in the empty training room. At this point, you were halfway into his lap and each thrust imprinted the shape of his cock to your insides leaving you a stuttering mess of his name.
Exactly how he liked you.
Your second orgasm was stronger than the first and had you clenching around his cock almost painfully. Price cursed lowly slowing his thrusts to help draw it out, until you finally collapsed against him, legs twitching and breaths coming in short puffs. He lifted you slowly off him and you sighed in relief. His cock brushed against your stomach still leaking precum. Lazily you reached between your bodies intent on finishing him off with your hand but he swatted it away.
“On your stomach love. Ass up.”
The fucked out haze of your mind swirled curiously trying to process his words. You lifted your head searching his eyes in confusion. “Sir?” You asked voice shaky, looking every bit the fucked out mess you were.
Price couldn’t help the sick satisfaction he felt at being able to reduce you to such a state. “C’mon Sergeant,” He eased you up and then pushed you onto your stomach, your face pressed uncomfortably to the mat. “I’m not done with you yet.”

A/N: I’m honestly not too happy with how this turned out but it’s been sitting in my draft for like a month lmao. As always though thank you so much for taking the time to read this mess- have a lovely lovely day

Phantom of the Night
Chapter 2
This will be a 141/female oc, with possible variations down the line depending on the route I take with a pairing.
Thank you everyone for being so patient with me! This story has been a struggle for me to get going because I have so many ideas in within the plot but had no idea where to begin. A close friend recommended some ideas, and I think it's finally starting to come together.
[To help with the setup of kit's office, I spent a few hours throwing ideas around before I settled on this layout, but don't worry about the measurements!]
Hope you enjoy!

The first few days went by with no problem as Kit made herself scarce anywhere except in the medical bay, where she reorganized the whole wing to best suit how she works. Throughout the time spent setting up, she helped with the minor injuries from training missions on and off base, which helped to keep her fairly occupied.
Her new office was fairly large, bigger than she thought she'd need but it would come in handy for all of the tasks she’d taken over. Two bullet proof glass windows stood at the back of the room behind her desk, the glass starting at the middle of the wall and allowing natural light to brighten the room during the day. Her desk was an L-shape in a deep mahogany color, 2 monitors next to each other, and a multitude of files across the side of it. There were a few filing cabinets in the back corner of the room, nearest the desk to hold any extra medical files that hadn't made it to archive before Kit got on base, but she would get to it eventually. The only other things in the room were a few empty bookshelves on the right wall with a single coffee maker, a small coffee table next to the door with a couch against the same wall, and a minifridge with a double sink next to it.
Everything was falling into place how she liked it, and it was coming along nicely.
It was a little bit after midnight on Kit’s 5th day at the new base and she was just finishing moving her files and papers around her desk when she heard a knock on her door.
“Come in.” Kit called out, not even looking up as she continued her filing, rearranging her new teams’ files to a separate smaller drawer that she locked just as her office door opened.
She heard heavy footsteps walk into the room, and upon not hearing the door click shut, Kit looked up to see none other than Captain John Price.
“How can I help you, Captain?” Kit straightened up her posture instinctually, fixing her lab coat to not be as bunched and wrinkled as it was previously.
Price tilted his head slightly as he looked around the room, letting the door softly click shut behind him.
“Just comin’ to see how you’re settlin’ in the new office. It looks nice.”
Kit smiled at the man, crossing the room to the coffee maker on the bookshelf and picking up two mugs.
“Thank you, sir. It’s a process, but I enjoy it.” She handed him a mug, not adding anything into either of them before going back to her desk. “Fresh pot, by the way.”
He thanked her before sitting in the chair across from her desk.
“Did you need something, Price? I’d have thought you’d be in bed by now with how late it is.”
He chuckled, the gruff sound causing Kit to give him a gentle smile.
“No, don’t need anything, kid. Just been a while since I’ve seen you, Vera.”
Bright silver eyes clashed with knowing blue ones, conversation being passed between the pair without a word being uttered. Kit sighed as she looked back down to her coffee mug.
“I know. I’m sorry about that, John. Been busy for Laswell for the past few years, you know how it is with her.” Kit shrugged as she looked back up to Price. “You look good, John.”
“You too, Vera. It’s good to see you again. Glad Laswell finally took me up on gettin’ you on the task force, been beggin’ her for a few years now” John set his now empty mug down on the desk in front of him.
She let out a soft laugh, placing her mug down and crossing her hands on top of her desk.
“Why did you ask for me? Out of everyone you’ve met, why me?”
Kit was genuinely confused on her transfer. She had been content being a solo operator for Laswell for the past few years, working without a team most times unless being lent to a task force or other Military group. This was the first time since meeting Laswell that she had been signed on for a permanent spot on a task force.
“Cause we need ya’ here with us. The missions we’ve been workin’ on lately are your expertise, Vera. I need your help.”
“But why sign me on? You know just as well as I do that this is new for all of us; me on a force, and you with a field medic.” Kit tightened her grip on her own hands before relaxing them.
“Look, Kit. We’ve worked together many times, and I like to think we work well together. I trust you to do this job, and I trust you with my team. Why would I get someone else when you’re here?” Price had leaned forward, elbows on his knees to try to get her to understand.
“What am I even doing here? The only thing I know of is that you tracked down General Ghorbani a couple months back and got rid of him.”
Price sighed, running his hands over his face.
“Which is why I need your help. One of his men took up the mantle. Majar Hassan Zyani.”
Kit’s silver eyes widened before she closed them, rubbing her temples roughly.
“Shit.”
Price hummed in retaliation.
“Shit indeed. We gotta find ‘em.”
She sighed, leaning back in her chair and covering her face with her hands.
“This isn’t going to be easy, but I’ll do what I can. Got any updates on his whereabouts?”
John Price handed a manilla folder to her, one she didn’t even realize he had in his hand-probably from lack of sleep.
She took the folder and started flipping through it, her mind automatically running through the words and translating the multiple languages across the pages. The details weren’t great, but it looked like Laswell was able to track his movements over the past few weeks.
“For old time’s sake, isn’t it, John?”
“Al Mazrah.”
The two of them make eye contact; furrowed brows, stressed frowns and exhausted expressions mirrored one another. This was not going to be easy. It was going to be rough, strenuous, and most likely traumatizing, but that’s what was expected from the job.
“When do we start?”
Price’s eyes snapped to her, a smile working its way on his face as Kit tried to lighten the mood.
“Come on. Laswell is waiting for us in debrief.” He stood up, holding his arm out to her.
Kit laughs, shutting down both computer monitors and grabbing the file before joining him at the door. She took a hold of his left elbow with her hand after locking her office door behind them, and allowing him to lead her to Station Chief Kate Laswell’s office a few buildings away.
The two of them caught up on some minor details since the last time they had seen each other a few years back: new countries visited, favorite foods in said places, and a few hobbies picked up in their time off. Before long, though, the pair stopped in front of the same meeting room that Kit was introduced to the team in.
Price knocked on the door, waiting for the familiar voice to call back before he entered the room, Kit in tow with him to shut the door.
“Glad to see you both. I’m not going to sugarcoat this; it’s not looking good.” Was the only thing Laswell said before the three of them started going through piles of papers stacked across the oval table.

Took me a while, but I've finally finished writing my thoughts on all 22 Touhou games I've played!!!
I tried to keep it brief but uhhhhhhh it ended up being insanely long anyways ;; Whoops. Maybe someday I'll be able to make full-on video reviews for each of them, there was a Lot I glazed over and a lot that's hard to describe without footage.
But regardless, here it is, my thoughts on Touhou 1-19, plus 9.5, 12.5, and 18.5! (Warning that this may be incomprehensible to a non-bullet hell player 😅)
[TOUHOU 1: HIGHLY RESPONSIVE TO PRAYERS]
The obvious black sheep of the family, HRtP isn't a bullet hell shooter, it's an arkanoid-style breakout game. But even so, I LOVE it. HRtP is very precious to me. It's definitely Hard, VERY hard, and the stage layouts can be a little unfair in places lol, but the controls are tight and responsive, and it's incredibly satisfying to improve.
Or even just to play purely for fun! For a decade, I honestly didn't expect to ever 1cc it, I just enjoyed playing casually, and HRtP is very friendly to that approach, with infinite continues, the ability to max out your starting lives, and a shorter time to complete than the other games. It's almost 30 years old now, but if you like breakout style games or old arcade, I still think it's worth a try! Maybe someone else out there will come to love it as much as I do
[TOUHOU 2: STORY OF EASTERN WONDERLAND]
Touhou's first proper shmup/bullet hell, and it is unquestionably the roughest in the series ;; That's not to say it's bad, just that it's aged a little poorly.
I try not to hold future QoL stuff against the older games, but man, not having a focus option, or health bars for the bosses, is Painful. This game also has some of the worst visibility issues in the series (like, bullets being the same color as the background, with no outline), and also an awful glitch that hurts gameplay (dying SHIFTS YOUR HITBOX. considering that knowing where your hitbox is is VITAL to survival……. yikes), so yeah, I understand why it's not fondly remembered.
But it has its charms!! There's the infamous (gay) conversation in Stage 2, this is the only game in which Genji (Reimu's pet turtle who helps her fly in the PC-98 games) speaks, I think the low cap on lives+easy score 1-ups is an interesting combo, AND this game introduced Marisa!!! Even if her design is very different now
I don't play this one much. If I were to rank all the games this one would probably be second lowest. But it's an okay time and you can still get some tense battles!!
[TOUHOU 3: PHANTASMAGORIA OF DIMENSIONAL DREAM]
The first VS shooter of the series!
Basically the idea is that you clear waves of enemies to both send bullets/attacks at your enemy, and charge your gauge to send even more powerful attacks, or even a boss. First to lose all their health loses the round.
The VS shooters are very chaotic, and the enemy AI can absolutely be unfair ;; But the high energy back-and-forth of a match is extremely thrilling!! I also really adore the final boss of this game, Yumemi Okazaki……. a human college professor from the real world, who came to Gensokyo to try and capture someone to prove magic is real to her school…… and she fights with, science? I find her super charming and fun, one of my favorite final boss characters
Now that I've played other VS shooters, including the game that apparently inspired this one, I can say that PoDD is very rudimentary. But sometimes you don't need a lot of fancy bells and whistles to have fun! Now if only it didn't require button mashing, I would play it more often……..
[TOUHOU 4: LOTUS LAND STORY]
LLS was my favorite Touhou game for a long, long, long time.
A big reason it was a favorite is because it's one of the most beginner friendly games by far. No cap on lives (plus 1-ups are granted by score, one of the easier systems), a free bomb after every stage, you can increase your starting lives significantly, there's a "slowmode" option to help you train, most of the patterns are either exploitable or designed around having no visible hitbox…… etc. It was first game I beat on Hard, way back when I was a teenager and could normally only play Easy mode. That's still a precious memory.
LLS also has one of the best overall soundtracks in the entire series. The fun, dream-like Lotus Love, into the tense and foreboding Sleeping Terror, into the calm anticipation of Dream Land, into an explosive heartpounding finale with Faint Dream ~ Inanimate Dream………. absolutely killer.
LLS has aged a little, it doesn't have much of the "flashy", colorful danmaku Touhou is known for. And despite being GENERALLY pretty easy there are a couple insanely difficult patterns that aren't balanced well. Aside from that, it's a little Too easy for me now (at least on Hard and below), but, I still play it regularly just for fun, and will always have a very special place in my heart for it.
(plus, side note, LLS was the introduction of the Stage 4 gimmick, where something is unique about the 4th Stage, boss, or both. I love Stage 4 gimmicks and miss them dearly in the newer games,,)
[TOUHOU 5: MYSTIC SQUARE]
God I love MS. I love MS so much. Probably my second favorite in the series at time of writing.
MS truly is the Greatest Hits of the PC-98 era. Mima and Yuuka come back as playable characters, the danmaku patterns are fun and unique (so much so that ZUN reused a few of them in future games!!!), it has most of the QoL features LLS had besides the free bombs, it introduced one of my favorite characters (Alice), and this is one of the few games where I actually find the faster characters easier/more fun to play as!! Both due to the bullet patterns themselves and because the 1-up system (point item collection) is especially suited for fast characters.
MS is much harder than LLS, but a lot easier than some of the later Touhou games, so it's a great middle ground in terms of difficulty. I only have 2 major critisicms; 1) while the 1-up system and patterns make fast characters more rewarding, there isn't good balance for the other options, so if you wanna play Yuuka you're kind of screwed. And 2) Stage 4. I actually love the Stage 4 gimmick (dual boss that's followed by a solo fight after you take one of them down), but Lord. Stage 4 has two awful glitches that can happen to you, and bullets that are the exact same color as the background. ZUN why
Besides that though, I think MS just naturally caters to my preferred playstyle (chaotically weaving and dancing through bullet spam), so it's a top tier entry for me :)
[TOUHOU 6: EMBODIMENT OF SCARLET DEVIL]
If MS isn't my 2nd favorite in the series, this one is.
I will say this. EoSD has Aged. Imo, it's aged more than MS has. Being ZUN's first Windows game it's a little rough around the edges; muddy graphics, rough soundfonts, heavier reliance on RNG and bullet spam over intricate patterns, and it's missing certain QoL features that it Feels like it should have (like, the PC-98 games were missing stuff, but those games felt like they were built around the limitations, EoSD has a lot of areas where it FEELS like it was designed with future QoL in mind, but it's just….. missing). It also sucks that EoSD is one of only 2 games that locks you out of the final stage if you play on Easy (LLS is the other one),,
But. EoSD is still beloved for a reason. One of the most solid soundtracks in the series, a fun Stage 4 gimmick (different spellcards for different shot types), score-based 1-up system, the introduction of the Point of Collection line, some Iconic boss battles, etc. AND, one of those weaknesses is actually kind of a Strength for me, because again, my preferred play style is well suited to bullet spam!! Stages 5 and 6 are SO fun for me, even though they're commonly cited as things people DISLIKE about EoSD.
EoSD is definitely unpolished, but it's still one of my top favorites, both for its general strengths and for how it caters well to me personally lol.
[TOUHOU 7: PERFECT CHERRY BLOSSOM]
PCB is my current favorite!!
Of all Touhou games, I feel PCB strikes a perfect balance between being accessible, but also still having challenges for those that want it. The patterns are really a step up from EoSD; with the introduction of a visible hitbox, ZUN could make them both more dense and more complex/unique, but they're designed to still be easily understandable. Other QoL features were added that also help a lot (like the enemy tracker, spellcard indicators on the healthbar, success/fail counters, you can save practice mode replays, etc). There's also good variety in the playable characters, each has their own advantages and disadvantages, and one of the best shot types in the entire series is here (SakuyaA lol).
I feel like just saying that doesn't express my love though, there's truly nothing like weaving through a dense maze of beautiful bullets, and PCB is one of THE best for that feeling. I also love this game's 'special feature'; the cherry borders. Not only are they fantastic for survival and training (the border acting as a shield allows you to try new things and take risks where you otherwise wouldn't/couldn't), you can also utilize them in various way; break them on purpose at optimal points to maximize score, keep them as long as possible to milk graze points, use them to clear difficult patterns and stage sections……. it's just a great system that adds depth without overwhelming the player!!
And of course, I must mention something unique to this game; the Phantasm stage! PCB is the only game that has this. It's basically just a 'hard mode' version of the Extra stage, but, the patterns are both exciting to face and gorgeous to look at, the boss herself is genuinely Iconic, and her theme may be even more so.
PCB is pretty much the full package, and is also my recommendation to new players starting out, 100%.
[TOUHOU 8: IMPERISHABLE NIGHT]
This is the last of Touhou's "holy trio", so to speak, alongside EoSD and PCB. There's not much I can point to that's "wrong" with it, or "worse" than the other two, but idk, I don't feel as positively towards IN. I do still really enjoy it though!
There's a lot of great things about IN; the introduction of Spell Practice, there's two different final stages/bosses, the really cool concept for the playable characters/shot-types (character fight in teams, and once you beat both Finals with all teams you can play as each character individually, for a total of 12(!!!) shot-types), the Stage 4 gimmick is a callback to LLS (you fight Reimu or Marisa depending on your character!!), and of course there's some great bullet patterns in there (Keine and Marisa are standouts to me).
There's a LOT of content, more than most Touhou games, which is great!! But there's definitely some aspects that don't feel well polished, which brings it down a bit. The 'special feature' of this game, the Youkai gauge, is not only insanely confusing and complicated, and it's also not fun OR worthwhile to engage with,,, Maybe if I was a hardcore scorer I'd find some value in it, but…… eh. At least it's not obtrusive or anything. Then there's the solo shot-types….. while it's cool they're there, I don't know if ZUN playtested the solo Humans ;; They are very clearly not designed with solo play in mind and if you like to clear ALL shot-types like I do, this can make it an arduous experience to get through all 12
I think it's mostly these things, plus me feeling kind of neutral on the soundtrack and cast, that make IN not stand out, despite all the content. Still a great game, I play it a lot, just not as often as some other entries.
[TOUHOU 9: PHANTASMAGORIA OF FLOWER VIEW]
The 2nd VS shooter in the series!
Mostly the same exciting, chaotic gameplay as the first one PoDD, though with a few key difference. You can now use Focus, which also ties into a new mechanic, the 'scope', which allows you to freeze falling spirits (helps with setting up combos and crowd control) when they touch it. And, using your spell/special attack gauge causes a 'wave' to ripple out and clear bullets around you. I think overall these are excellent addition and that add fun strategy to gameplay.
However, I'm not great at keeping track of combos or purposefully placing spirits during the constant barrage of bullets,,, And some of the character's scopes are……. not fun to utilize. There's also the same problem I had with PoDD, how rapidly pressing the shoot button hurts my hand over time, and while PoFV actually has an alternate control scheme, that alternative FORCES you into focus mode as you shoot. I want to be able to not think super hard about when and where I shoot, so I can focus on dodging, but this just makes the problem Worse because it hampers my movement ;;
I do like the bullet clearing wave though! Plus, this game introduced one of my favorite characters, Aya, AND brought back Yuuka from the PC-98 era!! It's not a bad game and I've had fun with it. I'm just not crazy about the Touhou VS shooters overall. If I wanna play a VS shooter I'd rather pick something like Twinkle Star Sprites.
[TOUHOU 9.5: SHOOT THE BULLET]
This is the first of the 'photo' games, and I have a soft spot for this one. It can be extremely rewarding to clear a difficult scene, and the whole photography thing is a SUPER interesting take on bullet hell. The one thing that sucks is that there's little incentive to go back to scenes once you've managed to clear them. But I guess that's not the point, it's to slowly conquer the challenges each level throws at you and clear as many as you can.
Very solid game, something you can chip away at over time, if you like bullet hell and like interesting challenges give it a try!!
[TOUHOU 10: MOUTAIN OF FAITH]
MoF is the start of a new era. It's pretty stripped back in terms of gameplay because ZUN wanted to focus on making a basic, polished shmup, and he certainly achieved that. The new engine feel smooth as butter, the graphics and sound are crisp, and the bullet patterns and stages are solid. Some of the core gameplay mechanics have been changed though, and it's a little mixed.
For instance, the bombs have been changed in 2 key ways; there are no longer unique bombs for each shot-type, and using a bomb costs you some of your Power instead of an item. Not having unique bombs takes away an element in picking your shot-type, but I don't mind the bomb itself since it's both effective and powerful. Losing Power can be frustrating, and you can end up in a horrible loop if you lose too much at once, but, MOST of the time I find MoF is very generous with Power, and that combined with not being restricted to bomb items can actually be a really sweet deal.
Most of the other changes are similarly mixed, but ultimately I think they work well together! There's only 1 thing I have major critism of, and that's the removal of practice and accessibility features. There's no more extra starting lives from here on out, which I understand, but it does make me sad, as extra lives allows new players to see more of the game (and allows old players to relax on just-for-fun runs). He also removed Spell Practice, which sucks :( But, by far the most egregious change, is that using a continue starts you over from the beginning of a stage….. and just seeing a stage is NOT enough to unlock it in Practice Mode. This is a HUGE hit to the game's accessibility for new or unskilled players, not even allowing them to practice the stage they're stuck on, or prepare for anything beyond it. If you die on a stage so much you have to continue, what the hell made ZUN think starting the whole stage over with almost no lives would help??
Thankfully, I don't need that accessibility much anymore, and there IS a fanmade practice patch out there. MoF is definitely among my top favorite games of the series, it's just a great basic shmup and great start to the new era. Also shoutout to my favorite final boss theme, Venerable Ancient Battlefield ~ Suwa Foughten Field. Loved it so much as a kid that I would mod it into other games LMAO
[TOUHOU 11: SUBTERRANEAN ANIMISM]
SA is considered the 2nd hardest game in the series, and there is good reason for that. Beyond the patterns and stages just generally being pretty difficult, the lives, bombs, and continues system are very punishing in this entry.
The continue system is exactly the same as MoF, which is to say, brutal and unforgiving. Bombs are also tied to power like in MoF, but unlike MoF, Power only goes up to 4.00 instead of 5.00 (with MarisaA as an exception) meaning less bombs overall and leading to the same issues there were in MoF. And, you don't earn full lives, you need 5 life pieces to gain a full extra life, and the one and ONLY way to earn life pieces? Is through clearing boss attacks without bombing or getting hit. There is not even a SINGLE free live in the entire game, you must earn every single one with flawless performance.
This leads to a scenrio where, high skilled players are rewarded with lives they don't need, and less experienced players are basically walled from even practicing. All this, combined with two other factors (some of the weirdest/most difficult to utilize shot-types in the series, and the fact that the actual bombs either suck ass or are also difficult to utilize well), makes SA one of the most "unfriendly" games in all of Touhou project. If not THE most unfriendly.
I have a lot of criticisms of this, and even now I can't say I feel "comfortable" playing through SA. But, (most of) the unique shot-types CAN be rewarding, once you learn how to wield them, and this game has some of the most exciting and challenging bosses. So many fun spellcards……… Satori and Okuu are standouts. Satori's gimmick is also really cool, where her spellcards change based off your shot-type, nearly all of them being alternate version of past spellcards in the series. And of course, this game's cast is absolutely iconic, pairing well with one of the best overall soundtracks in the entire series.
SA is one of those games where I have a lot of fun with it and think it's stellar in terms of music, cast, and bullet patterns, but certain systems and mechanics prevent me from recommending it whole-heartedly to others. There's just a lot of frustrations with it. But it's still fairly high up in my rankings, and there's some value to having a game focused on Skill and skill alone, rather than other gimmicks or resources management or whatnot.
[TOUHOU 12: UNDEFINED FANTASTIC OBJECT]
UFO was the first Touhou game I got to see the release for. It's one of my happiest memories, so my feelings towards UFO may be very biased. Just a warning lol
UFO's "gimmick", the UFOs, is how you engage with basically any other system in the game; you MUST engage with the UFOs if you're going for anything other than a NMNB clear. And ho boy is the UFO system contentious. Not without reason, either. Mid-Bosses and Bosses destroy summoned UFOs which is frustrating, it's super easy to make a mistake with gathering the small UFOs and ruin your combo, if there's small UFOs you don't want on screen they basically act as bouncing projectiles you need to dodge ON TOP of the actual bullets……. etc.
However, while I share a few of those frustrations (damn UFO destroying bosses…..), I find the UFO system to lead to a good combination of routing and room for improvisation. You can memorize when and where certain colored UFOs will drop and plan ahead for them, and if you miss what you need or make a mistake you can still think on the fly and re-route mid playthrough. It's also fun that you can specialize your routing and gameplay towards a specific goal, like stocking tons of bombs to skip difficult stage sections/spellcards, or optimzing for score, or stockpiling lives.
The overall difficulty of the stages and patterns is decently high in UFO (this game is often ranked 3rd hardest in the series), but it can be somewhat mitigated with good planning and resource management. And I personally find a lot of these stages and bosses a Blast to play! Helped again by, of course, having one of the best overall sountracks in the series…. imo at least. The UFO cast is also my personal favorite, AND they get some of ZUN's cutest sprites/artwork :)
The only other real criticism I have is that it shares it's Continue system with MoF and SA. Thank god this is the last game that forces you backwards for continuing ;;;;
While the UFO system has it's downsides, UFO is just a really fantastic entry into the series and a personal favorite of mine. We'll see how I feel once I start tackling the higher difficulties seriously though…… lol.
[TOUHOU 12.5: DOUBLE SPOILER]
Basically the sequel to Shoot the Bullet. There is very little difference, just a new set of characters and cards to face. I personally find this one a LOT harder than StB, and I don't enjoy it quite as much, but it's still a solid game I recommend it to anyone who enjoyed StB.
(EDIT TO ADD: Sometime after I wrote this part, I found an old blog entry from when I was 13, and apparently ZUN explicitly stated DS was meant to be much harder than StB. So, there ya go?)
[TOUHOU 13: TEN DESIRES]
The key phrase for this game overall, imo, is RESOURCE STRANGLEHOLD.
TD is far and beyond the most punishing game in the series, both in terms of resources and the Spirit Gauge/Trance mechanic. The requirement for the amount of pink spirits you need in order to earn an extra Life is brutal right from the start, at 8, and every time you earn a new life this requirement goes up. This doesn't reset when you die, or even when you CONTINUE. That would be brutal enough, but even with OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE, literally no mistakes and perfect utilization of Trance, you earn less lives in this game than in any other. Speaking of pulling of a perfect performance, good fucking luck, because the spirits you need to gather stay right where you killed the enemy, disappearing Quickly, so you have to either have your Trance meter full and ready, or you need to risk your precious few lives to dash up to the top of the screen, in the middle of an absolute clusterfuck of bullets, just for a FRACTION of an extra life.
And of course, there's the real kicker; getting hit causes your entire Trance meter to be used up, and it takes a quite a bit to refill it, especially because again, spirits Do Not Fall the way items do, you have to seriously risk your life for them.
Basically, TD is a very, VERY routing-heavy game, and if you make even ONE mistake it can cause your entire playthrough to unravel. It's super frustrating. There are only 2 saving graces here….. 1) you at least get to keep any extra bombs you had in stock after you die, and 2) TD has some of the easiest boss fights in Touhou. I actually find the spellcards super fun, so by sort of-kind of routing the stages and doing well against the bosses, I was able to find some joy in TD. But that is obviously in spite of the mechanics, not because of them ;;
I will say, though, that it's interesting to have a game designed to make you "boss graze", ie stay dangerously close to the boss and move around them to catch spirits. Interesting concept and it helps train you on a high-level skill.
TD was my least favorite Touhou game for a long, long time. I've softened on it a bit, fun bullet patterns are fun no matter what, but goddamn. This one's ROUGH. And sadly, the OST is pretty middling for me, though it DOES have a few standouts (Desire Drive, Youkai Shrine Back Road, Small Desire's Starry Night Sky)!!
[TOUHOU 14: DOUBLE DEALING CHARACTER]
Ah. DDC. My nemesis.
I actually don't mind this game's special mechanic; using the point of collection line to earn life and bomb pieces. I actually think it's fun and rewarding, though that could just be because I already go to the PoC line as much as possible anyways lol. No, my problem is not with the mechanic, or the life and bomb pieces. This game commits the most fatal of all sins in bullet hell; the bullet patterns are Not Fun.
So many of the patterns in the this game have 'gimmicky' movements, sometimes bordering on Random, and this is often used in combination with one of my greatest weaknesses, bullets coming at you from both above and below, at the same time. This makes them an absolute nightmare to read. There's also a ton of a bullets that are either oddly shaped with confusing hitboxes, or made huge which also makes their hitboxes confusing. And unfortunately, the stages and bosses that don't suffer from this generally have pretty bland forgettable patterns. I can't think of a single attack in DDC I would describe as "fun", and that's unheard of in the rest of the series.
Worse yet, the shot-types themselves……. half of them are 'gimmicky', kind of like SA shot-types were, but the SA shot-types had special extra mechanics that could be mastered and were rewarding to utilize, if uncomfortable to get used to. These shot-types are just plain Uncomfortable, or are underwhleming ;; MarisaB has a bomb that makes it possible to milk life and bomb pieces like crazy and basically cheese the whole game, but that's not fun either :( I wanna be able to PLAY the game and enjoy it…… but I can't.
And the final nail in the coffin…… DDC also happens to have my least favorite soundtrack and, imo, a very bland and unmemorable cast. I feel so sad saying that because I think there's some unique youkai here, but MOST OF their designs don't stick out/are pretty plain, and they feel very disconnected from Gensokyo at large. Maybe if I saw them in print materials I'd feel different, but as it stands…… :/
I want to say some nice things though, so here's what I've got. Wakasagihime has a great design (it's just…. y'know, she's a Stage 1 boss, so there's not much of her. Super sad considering I desperately wanted a mermaid Youkai). Raiko also has a cool design, AND she has the best theme in the game. Uhh…… the PoC line mechanic giving you an extra life piece instead of a bomb if you collect enough point items is a good feature that rewards smart planning and risk management. The Stage 2 boss has lasers you can avoid by staying completely still which is hilarious.
I…. think that's it. Let me say for the record, I'm open to changing my mind!! I softened on TD as I got better, found things I could enjoy in it despite my issues, so that could happen someday with DDC. It's just right now, nearly everything about DDC bounces me right off it, so it's the only Touhou I genuinely don't enjoy playing,, Hopefully someday that will change……
[TOUHOU 15: LEGACY OF LUNATIC KINGDOM]
LoLK is a bit of an odd ball, for sure. While you can play it like a regular Touhou game (using "Legacy" mode), the main mode of LoLK is "PointDevice", which plays very differently. It's focused on "perfection", and very precise movement and dodging, making you retry to same sections and attacks over and over again til you do them right.
You also earn Life pieces (Legacy) and Bomb pieces (PointDevice) via grazing, which requires you to risk your life getting super close to the bullets. All that, in combination with very dense and overwhleming bullet patterns, makes LoLK the hardest Touhou game by a long shot. Especially in Legacy mode, where you can't just retry over and over.
I honestly don't care for PointDevice much, especially because if there's a section/attack you CANNOT pass no matter how hard you try, and you've already used all your bombs, you're kind of fucked and Have to restart the entire thing ;; But, I still find Legacy mode fun, and as someone who loves to graze when I can, being rewarded for it feels good, AND allows for some really creative and interesting patterns/routing. On the higher difficulties, there's way more bullets to milk for graze, too. On one hand it's a little frustrating that it's HARDER to earn resources on Easy and Normal, but on the other hand you can argue that the extra resources help balance the insane pattern difficulty of Hard and Lunatic.
I'm not good enough to beat LoLK on Normal yet (it's the last one left for me), but I still think it's a pretty solid game overall, and I like to replay certain stages (2, 3, 5, and 6) on Easy just for fun.
[TOUHOU 16: HIDDEN STAR IN FOUR SEASONS]
Wasn't a huge fan of this one at first, but I've warmed up to it! Mostly
While this is not the first game with bullet erasers, it is the first to feature them so prominently, aside from maybe PoFV. It comes in the form of the Release system, which basically allows you to massively power down your shot type in exchange for clearing bullets (how much you power down and how many bullets are erased/for how long depends on your sub weapon choice). I think the way it can be utilized both for survival and for scoring is pretty cool. It can also be really broken if you know exactly where to use them, adding another element to routing and memorization. But it can also be handy during my casual play…… if you remember it exists. lol. I admit that I struggle to use any C key function properly ;; But that's a personal issue
The shot types are definitely interesting in this game. Instead of the standard fare, you pick a character (who always has the same shot) and then pick a "sub weapon" based on one of the other character's shots (or you can pick your own to make it stronger). This results in there being a whopping SIXTEEN COMBINATIONS, each with slightly varying properties. Lord. While I think I prefer having a smaller pool of unique and optimized shot types, this is a neat concept, if a bit overwhelming if you're like me and want to clear EVERY combination ;; But still, it allows you to sort of customize to what you're most comfortable with, or what will help you the most (for example, the Cirno/Summer sub weapon gives you short releases you can use repeatedly, but the weapon itself sucks ass as a tradeoff. So pairing it with a faster/more powerful character balances things a bit!), which is pretty cool.
My major complaints about this game are the 2 difficulty spikes; the Stage 5 bosses, and Okina's final spellcard(s). The Stage 5 bosses use the dreaded "random and erratic" bullet behaviour I hated so much in DDC, though thankfully only for SOME attacks. They're still a big spike compared to the rest of the game, even compared to Okina's fight……. until the end. Okina's final cards are super cool in concept, stripping you of your sub weapon and forcing you to just Dodge Or Die…….. but in practice it is PAINFUL, especially since it's the last obstacle before victory. She even has a bomb shield………. wtf. Brutal. All 4 variants are bad, but the Summer version is by far the worst, in my opinion one of the hardest final spellcards in the entire series.
There's also the extra stage, which is mostly spent dodging stuff coming from behind you (my nightmare), but that's more of a skill issue on my part ;; Overall, while the cast is very disconnected and don't leave a strong impression, the music is pretty damn good, the stages are fun, and the mechanics are interesting, even if they're a bit shakey and abusable. Not a top favorite but I like HSiFS :)
[TOUHOU 17: WILY BEAST AND WEAKEST CREATURE]
This game has a similar special mechanic to UFO, but I think it's a little better implemented here.
There are no "shot types" as it were; your choices are whether to power up your unfocused attacks, your focused attacks, or your bombs. This kinda makes it hard to have a preference, as each attack is better at different points in the game, so it's really up to you what's more important. I kind of like this, even though I still prefer variety, it means I can use other characters more freely.
I also like this version of the 'collect stuff on screen' mechanic, there's more leeway for mistakes (you can still activate "Roaring/Hyper" mode without having a perfect collection of matching spirits) AND the benefits are better (it protects you from hits while active, just like the cherry borders in PCB!! and you get either a massive boost to damage or a bullet eraser)! Like with UFO though, there is risk with chasing the Spirits all over the field, and it can lead to some frustrating deaths and distractions. But that's just part of what you have to manage, I think it's a fun system overall :)
What is Not Fun is an issue that actually started back in TD, but I haven't mentioned it yet, because WBaWC has it the Absolute Worst; VISIBILITY ISSUES. Your own shot, ESPECIALLY in Roaring/Hyper mode, can become so dense and flashy that it is near impossible to read the bullet patterns. Or see the bullets At All. Which is, yknow, a problem in a bullet hell game. On top of that, the whole game is tinted red, and full of red bullets, which is sick as hell on paper, but in practice makes a huge portion of the game become slurry to the eyes. And the Enemy tracker, which had its text removed back in TD, is more a problem in this game than in any other because the color of the tracker matches the color of the window border, so you may as well not even have it.
There's also a major problem in the Stage 5 boss (and in one final boss spellcard), with the stupid statues that are summoned……. I already don't like these kinds of "familiars", they''re always a pain no matter what, but WBaWC takes it to another level, as they soak up so much damage that very few of the shot types can kill them before you get body slammed or completely overwhelmed.
WBaWC is really fun and cool and has some great music and designs, but it feels…… almost like ZUN didn't fully playtest it before release. An issue that is going to persist into the final entries………. but it's still enjoyable overall, at least.
[TOUHOU 18: UNCONNECTED MARKETEERS]
I have a lot of fondness for it, but MAN is this game unbalanced lol
There's the obvious, which is the card system. I think the card system is a cool idea and can be fun to play around with, it's exciting when you get exactly the card you wanted, but there are certain cards/combinations that can kind of break the game, and it can be BRUTAL if you get nothing but trash cards on your run, and there are a Lot of 'trash cards'. And once you figure out your favorite card combo it's likely you'll never mess with anything else. Not strictly a bad thing, just a thing.
But then there's the real kicker…… Marisa. People are 100% right when they say this game is "anti-Marisa". I've tried not to mention the shot types I dislike (like most Youmu and Sakuyas), because that's a very personal/skill based issue, but here, the way this game is designed feels actively Hostile towards Marisa. It's hard to describe, but both bosses and stages are set up to have you fly all over the screen, or move off the sides a lot, and her range is EXTREMELY narrow………. AND both the shots and her bombs have been massively nerfed??? She's no longer the most powerful character, so there isn't even a trade off for picking the harder option. Seriously why the hell did ZUN nerf her AND make almost the entire game hostile to straight-forward shots?????
Well, whatever the reason, it makes her PAINFUL to play as. But, if you play as one of the fun shot types……. this game is pretty fun!! The first half a Little plain with it's boss patterns but the second half is a blast!!! If MAYBE a bit unfair (Megumu…….) ;; And the OST is fantastic all the way through. Plus, I just love the characters that were introduced, especially the 'masterminds', Megumu, Tsukasa, and Chimata. Very fun additions to the world of Gensokyo, I really hope we get to learn more about Megumu as the Crow Tengu chief.
If you're looking consistent play, look elsewhere, but for a fun time with light luck based elements this is a great game (if you don't play Marisa. Or Sakuya. lol)
[TOUHOU 18.5: 100TH BLACK MARKET]
Now this is an unique one! You go through stages that are split into semi-randomized sections, and along the way you gather money to buy cards. Bullet money buys cards during a run, and regular money lets you buy cards out of a shop so you can equip them from the start. So it's like….. a rouge-like shooter? Kinda?
I personally had fun with this. It's a little simple, and it can get repetitive, but it was nice because if I didn't have much time but wanted to mess around with bullet hell, I could boot this up and play a couple rounds to gather money for cards!!
Once you buy all the cards and earn all the achievements there's no reason to ever come back, which is sad, but idk, I had a good time milking bullets for money and slowly filling my collections. It shares some of the randomness issues with UM and is a little half-baked but I would still recommend giving it a shot, especially because it gives Marisa her time to shine after getting shafted in UM!
[TOUHOU 19: UNFINISHED DREAM OF ALL LIVING GHOSTS]
The final one so far!! I'll be honest, I've beaten it 21 times now I STILL don't understand how most of the mechanics work. Things just Happen and I either dodge or die. But what I can speak on is the downright bizarre balancing issues and the plethora of missing features.
The difficulty and balancing is wack. The vast majority of the characters feel underpowered already, and to top that off, only a small number of characters have bullet-clearing abilities, which is an absolutely MASSIVE advantage in this game, meaning that some characters are just objectively better than others. The story routes each character takes can also vary wildly in difficulty, making some paths a breeze and others nearly impossible even for the best players in the world.
But the most concerning thing for me is the missing features. No score? No "clear" achievement or signifier for different difficulty levels?? NO REPLAYS????? I can deal with the lack of score since I'm not a score player (yet), but having no indication or reward for 1ccing, and having no way to save or share your run without recording every single play session………. god. Idk, maybe it's silly, but that stuff is VERY important to me :( I'm still so sad about it, and it makes anything you achieve in the game feel….. hallow.
That being said, it's not all bad!! I love the new characters and their designs, there's some really interesting experimentation going on in the OST, I think the 'shield' mechanic adds a fun layer to gameplay (trying to make sure you're ready to restore the shield if it breaks while also trying to send over attacks and dodge)…… and I mean, dodging bullets is dodging bullets, so it's gonna be fun at least some of the time!!
Honestly, I just wish ZUN has balanced it more carefully, gave other characters more power or bullet-erasers, had more people play test it………. and of course, I wish it had replays and a way to track 1cc's :(((
--
And that's it! If you read any of that, thank you, I know it was long ;;;;; But I had fun, I'm glad I got to talk a lot about my favorite game series :^)

what are you favourite and least favourite aspects of living in japan? also, are you in tokyo or a different city? i visited japan once with my family years and years ago and i loved the food so much. i do remember a guy pissing on the street though and i always remember that when westerners get all weird and orientalist about how special and perfect and clean japan is
Ok so like I’m not living in Tokyo anymore rn tho I do plan to return eventually
My feelings about moving to japan are extremely complex because it was such a volatile, traumatic event for me personally. And while I simultaneously acknowledge and adore a lot of aspects of japan, it will never change those very hard and violent feeling first emotions I associated with the country
Which is part of the reason I’m back in the US now. When I come back to japan, it needs to be on my own terms. Not forced into it, like every time before
But I digress. One of my favorite parts about Tokyo is ofc the trains. The general city layout. The safety. I almost always felt safe, which is remarkable for the biggest city in the world. Meanwhile I live in a city 1/40th the size rn and it’s 1000x more violent, because that’s the US for ya. The lack of gun violence is honestly tbqh to be real the biggest difference between growing up in the US vs moving to japan. It’s hard to express how universal gun violence is in america, but it really is everywhere. I was shot at by my best friend’s dad when I was 11. I remember ducking from bullets in our apartment growing up with my mom. SWAT regularly was sent to various schools in the city, and once raided a house down the street from us. Urban america is a lot different from what’s shown on the movies. It’s violent. It’s harsh. It’s desperate. I look back on my childhood and am shocked by what I considered menial and normal back then. It’s not normal. And I think I always knew that on some level, but moving to another country provided that proof that it didn’t have ti be that way. I didn’t have to grow up like that. It was all unnecessary. It could’ve been avoided. We could’ve had our dreams.
One of the reasons I always felt discontented in japan, though, was the gaijin factor. Japan is extremely extremely homogenous and you will stick out if you’re not Japanese (some other nationalities can pass as Japanese but even then certain fashion styles or behaviors can mark you as Not Japanese, and thus mean you’re treated differently). Being a foreigner honestly made me agoraphobic for a long time. I had struggled with that in the US due to gun violence in my neighborhood, and japan almost exacerbated it simply for the social anxiety factor of sticking out like a sore thumb as a non-Japanese person. That’s something I do not miss at all. I described it to my mom as feeling like Big Bird whenever you enter a room. People won’t necessarily be mean to you or treat you unkindly, but it is very much a Factor that people Notice even if they don’t comment on it.

Jack: *CRACK!*
Jack: Oh yes! Ooh, I'll be back to wrestlin' bears and violating forests in no time!

Jimmy: Ta daaaa! Look in your pocket! Your watch is now gone! I stole it!
Alan: Wait WHAT?! YOU MOTHER- Wait. What the hell are you supposed to be!
Jimmy: JIMMY THE SPIDER! Cat-burglar extraordinaire!
Jimmy: I must have burgled, oh, five cats so far! Ha ha ha!
Alan: ....that's just down right awful
Jimmy: No, I'm just kidding. But I am totally SPIDER-LIKE!
Alan: Uh huh sure you are... Well bleeds running late so what do you want em to do when he gets here? Remove a part of your god damn brain to cure you of this weird god forsaken behavior?
Jimmy: No way! It's just that recently, some of my SPIDER MEALS have been... repeating on me.
Alan: gross... well say "Ah"!-
Bleed: Hey Alan! Sorry I'm late I've been... AH! SPIDER!
After surgery
Jimmy: Ah - that's much better!
Bleed: (shudder) Next time, why not try eating a spider to catch the flies?
Bleed: Or would that be like i don't know... cannibalism?
Jimmy: Ha! Yeah! Sure - eat a spider! Can you imagine someone coming in with a whole bunch of spiders running around inside them?
Bleed: OK YOU CAN LEAVE NOW! BEFORE YOU MAKE ME THROW UP FROM A IMAGE I DIDNT WANNA SEE!
Jimmy: Alright but before i go, have you guys ever considered going upscale? Maybe moving to the city?
Alan: Oh hell no! I much prefer the quiet life!
Bleed: But doc! think what we could do! There'd be loads more interesting stuff in the city!
Alan: I said no, Bleed!
*Jimmy leaves the Warehouse*
Bleed: But I still need more practice! Wouldn't moving to the city-
Alan: Bleed - you are a very talented young- or more middle aged man. In fact, you remind me of someone i used to work with...
Bleed: Really? You mentioned you worked with someone before! What happened to her?
Bleed: ...or was it a HIM?!
Alan: Never mind! Listen to me Bleed - you said you wanted my help. Fine, I will help you.
Alan: But all I want is a more quiet life! Out of the way! Is that clear?
Bleed: Yes.
Alan: Ok.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Pete: Ah hello guys! I've come into some right nice organs recently.
Pete: Seeing as my own organs are failing a bit, I was hoping you could swap my old organs with a new ones, like?
Pete: In return, I'll see you get all the juicy organs a young middle-aged surgeon could need!
Pete: Look at the tubes on that! glistening, they are!
Bleed: Let's do this!
After surgery
Pete: Amazing job you two! Tell me though, a place like this hardly fitting for people like you? isn't it?
Pete: There's plenty of work in the city! haven't you heard?
Pete: Some nutjob has started running around maiming people! terrible, it is!
Bleed: Doc, did you hear what that guy said? The city needs us!
Bleed: Please doc, I don't wanna be a pizza boy forever!
Bleed: And one day I wanna have my own surgery! for real! Please...
Bleed: And what about you!? Surely you must want something better for yourself!
Alan: I... I need to think. I'm going for a walk.
Bleed: Hey! Wait... doc...
--------------------------------------------------------------
Bleed: Man, I can't believe the doc left me on my own. What if some utter headcase comes in? I-
Penny: Bonsoir. I am Penny.
Penny: You are the pizza boy who operates with a spoon?
Bleed: Uh it's a Pizza cutter, actually.
Penny: Take up your spoon, my good man! I will be most interested to see what you find within me!
After surgery
Bleed: You were full of weird bugs but I killed them all.
Penny: Did you know the brighter and more beautiful the creature, the more extravagant and excruciating its poison?
Bleed: OK! Well that's great! Off you go now!
Bleed: ...
Guy: Hey you! Yeah you! I'm looking for someone!
Bleed: (Oh... he's hot!)
Bleed: Listen, whoever it is you're looking for, I think it may be me!
Guy: Euch! I wanted the surgeon! Goodbye!
Bleed: Hey wait! Wait come back!
Bleed: Argh! Dammit! This stupid uniform! How can anyone recognize me as a master surgeon when I'm wearing this thing?
Bleed: Man, where's the doc gotten to? I hope he's not gone off on another cough syrup bender and walked out in front of a car... again...
Alan: Bleed, I've been thinking... We should go to the city.
Bleed: Ha! Great! You know, this is just my day for good news! There was a really handsome guy here just now. He was looking for "the surgeon", Ha!
Bleed: Guess he didn't realize he'd found em! Woo!
Alan: A guy? My god... No, it couldn't be...
Bleed: Never mind that now! Let's get this show on the road!

Prideful (2/?)
She woke up when the fine thread of the tent she resided in allowed the thin ripples of the pale sunlight to hit her shut eyelids, producing a low, airy mumble as she stretched lazily and yawned, filling her lungs with the clean air that the location of the Legion Camp provided.
The Legion camp.
That's when the realization of where she still was hit her like a train right on her face as she sat up in an instant, immediately going for her bag. Her makeup bag in particular. Once she opened it, dread washed over her as her eyes fell on the emptiness of the container. Maybe it wasn't as genial as she thought hiding her smaller weapons and bullets in such a frivulous place would be, but the idea of someone actually sneaking in the tent she was so foolishly snoozing in, basically welcoming anyone who tried to do anything to her after all the troubles she caused to the cause of her hosts, made her slap a hand on her forehead. Mentally, to prevent any noise to come from the action. The idea of going out and dealing with the consequences of her little stunt was still too unpleasant for her drowsy self.
As much as she hated to admit it, sleeping on a decent bedroll after such a long time felt heavenly, without even speaking of the soft animal fur blanket the Legion made sure to provide for her as they set up her tent.
With a sigh, she rolled out of the makeshift bed and shivered at the contact of her warm skin with the air coming in from the closed tent's entrance. Still, giving up an occasion to wash herself with clean, not irradiated water was inexcusable, so she absolutely savoured it when one of those poor women left a bucket of warm water and a cloth right inside the tent a couple of minutes before.
Finally scrubbing and taking off all the sweat and grime accumulated during her journey to the Fort, Six mentally prepared for the worst as the absence of weight in her improvised weapon case still lingered in her stomach, choking her breath more with each passing second. Every clang of the straps of her leather armor being secured on her body sounded deafening in the silence of her improvised abode in which her mind kept repeating scenario after scenario in which she needed to find a way out to prevent the wrath of Caesar to unleash on her a barrage of punishments for disobeying his orders and bringing weapons in the camp. Six wasn't one for fights, no matter how harsh and unforgiving the wastes were, she was still a person who woke up with no memory inside of a nameless grave not even a month prior. Acting though and mean wouldn't have brought her anywhere good considering her position in a camp full of men who in average would have been able to crush her in a matter of little to no effort, so acting, at least for now, would have been her best bet. Until she got her weapons back and a clearer image of the state, layout and inner workings of that place.
Another sight left her gritted teeth and she swallowed the knot in her throat, only then crawling out of the tent.
The first thing her eyes got immediately greeted by was a woman being slapped so hard she barely could keep herself up on her feet, eyes meeting with the Courier's in a silent plea for stillness. "Don't" she mouted to Six, who shivered hard. So distracted by the scene she tried so hard to ignore to prevent worsening the condition for the poor stranger, the obstacle in front of her felt completely invisible. Not so much when she bumped on it with a gasp.
“Ah, sorr- Ah… It's you. “ She apologized initially, partially from genuine habit of being polite, partially because that place was starting to feel suffocatingly oppressive. She was no hero, if anything all she wanted to do right in that moment was leaving as soon as possible and find a way to free the slaves. When her eyes met instead with Vulpes', all of her gentle disposition was instantly vaporized, a scoff leaving her when he responded to her peevish attitude with one of his shit-eating fake smiles.
“Apologies accepted, now, will you allow us to humor you with a meal? We have some fresh milk and roasted brahmin. Oh, and caramelized fruit too. “
“What did she do to deserve that?“ Her voice nearly reduced to a whisper, instantly regretting outing her concern regarding the slaves in the camp right to the Legion's ruler's right hand. She bit her cheek.
“Don’t avoid my questions, Courier. She, before you insist with your petulance, was a Nipton survivor who tried to flee the Fort.“
“You know that Romans had an ounce of respect towards slaves at their time, right? “
“At the time, they worked hard to deserve such benevolence. Because I can also say that there have been records of slave/owner relationships, but not only it was rare, the slaves themselves revealed themself useful, contrary to these pitiful whores who come from the worst the Mojave has to offer. Nothing special, just a waste of time, even if some of the men married a couple out of their looks. Frivolous, but keeps providing the Legion with future men. Now, will you please follow me? Caesar has a favor to discuss with you, we can skip the breakfast if you desire to keep up the petulance.“
“Do you really think all of that? Stop it with the formalities then, I am a woman too. “
“Whose under Caesar’s protection.“ He specified, then turned around to fully glare at her with a stare that didn't allow any more denials. “I’m repeating myself, will you please follow me, now, Courier?“
She gulped, but a little smirk curved her lips. “Or what? I'm your "favourite Courier", how would Caesar react if you damaged his precious little tool of New Vegas' and the Dam's conquest?“ Still, she started following, not really planning on finding out what that psycho had in mind in case she didn't intend to attend his "glorious" Caesar's call.
He smiled back, weirdly amused. “I thought Nipton was a pretty clear example of what I'm capable of. You, however, would probably prove to be more interesting than those depraved morons. You try so hard to have a dignity it's almost convincing. Such a blessing for your kind. But enough talking, Caesar awaits.“
One thing she had to give to him was his ability to get on her nerves so badly her hands itched with desire. One of ripping his teeth out and wipe off that fastidious grin from his pale face, the mere idea consoling enough to satiate her for as long as an occasion to make her desire come true came around. Still, the way he spoke to her in such a manner made her feel… small. Ridiculous, even. Such condescension dripping out of each syllable he spewed in his long and slow rants about the beauty and radiance of the Legion or his ideals and morals. Ironic, she wasn’t the one wearing a Roman skirt with sunglasses and a dead dog on her head, but maybe his calm and collected composure was what actually got through her and made him look more than he really was. She sped up, gnawing on her cheek as they walked through the second gate of the Fort.
“How old are you? You seem pretty young for your position.“ She asked in a question that genuinely wanted an answer to by the first time they met. He looked too young to be such a cruel and ruthless resource for the Legion. Not that she thought young people weren't capable of atrocities, but he almost looked experience in such matter. Too cold, too calculating and damn precise, despite the scale of his operations.
“Why do you care to know? I speak Caesar’s word to you, age isn’t something that should change the importance of what I tell you, now.“ “I'm curious. I don’t believe in age proportioned respect, don't care about whatever weird hierarchy you're running here, so I don’t mean to undermine the scale of your… let's call them achievements. “ “That’s not something you should say in here, someone could really try to pass through me just to slit your throat while you sleep. “ “They can try. A bullet in the head wasn’t enough to stop me.” He allowed a small chuckle to fall from his thin lips. “Fair enough, but that Benny didn’t look exactly like an ace. Or any bright, to be completely blunt.“ “You don’t look that terrifying either, with a dog's head and all, but you had the guts to put an entire town on their knees. What can I say, appearances can be deceiving.“ The way she spoke her mind so freely in that moment almost fooled herself and her barriers she always kept up in such a harsh environment like the Mojave, but his way with words and approach surely was an asset. Suddenly, it wasn't so hard to understand how easily the mayor of Nipton trusted that guy, at least on a first sight. It wasn't that hard to see through all of it either, but politicians weren't exactly renowned for their smarts or critical thinking, so she simply cleared her throat, trying to recollect herself. “Snake tongue that you have today. What about a piece of bread to fill that empty stomach of yours? Will the wits go away?“ He asked again with that condescending tone that started to almost appear as mirth.
Six decided there and then that she didn’t stand him, but in a weird way. His mannerisms didn't suggest any violent tendency towards her despite the absence of any gentleness and the fact that his politeness did sound like a well crafted act and her curiosity towards his disposition only grew in a twisted game of pushing buttons and seeing what it took to actually manifest a dangerous reaction out of him. Maybe he was just great at self control and Caesar gave him such important role because of his calm and cold nerves of steel that guided his every calculation. Maybe he was just an asshole and Caesar too preoccupied with his grandeur tendencies to accept anyone less self assured and collected to take Vulpes' place.
"Caesar awaits." She repeated with a smug smile, before finally entering the main tent of the camp.
Caesar was sitting on his throne, like always probably, and she crossed her arms, looking at him and at Vulpes that reached his place next to him, rigorous as always.
“Have you thought about that chip? Know that once you get out this camp, you will not get it back unless you do what I asked.“ The older man spoke so differently than the man standing at his side, or any of those fanatics around them, she wondered if they even were part of the same group. “I… I need more time to understand what it does. Mr. House too is still alive, operating like this would probably be a danger for the whole plan… Trying to get past his defenses without debilitating security would mean losing the chip once he retrieves it back once I go down there… “ “Courier, I'll be honest with you. Don't mistake my patience for naiveté and see that you find a way to blow up the content of that bunker soon. Trying to stall on what will bring civilization to the Mojave is the worst blight you could do at this time. While I believe you still need to find a solution, I highly doubt you're completely blind to the whole ordeal. I give you a week. I expect you to finish before that.“
All things considered, she knew he was right. The decision was more about what was less worse than what was the best for the Mojave at that point. The NCR was corrupt, each and every citizen dissatisfied and kept miserable by the condition imposed by the higher ups who just ate away all that the working class produced in order to continue the ongoing war and expansion, while Caesar's Legion… it did keep roads safer and inhabitants disciplined, but through fear and a life absolutely devoid of any other meaning that wasn't a single cause, for a single man, while slaughtering and stepping on everything he didn't stand for, no matter how good and useful. While the prospect of working to live in a tin can and paying enormous taxes with so much bureaucracy it was impossible to do anything or get any form of justice wasn't so appealing, the Legion's idea of future was so grim she didn't have it in her to condemn anyone to that life. “I'll come up with something then. I'll get it done, Caesar.“
“Good. Now go. This fucking headache… “ He muttered silently as he got up from his throne and left sluggishly towards his room.
The Courier made her way out of the tend replaying the whole exchange in her head when she realized no one mentioned her hidden weapons. Maybe she hid them too well and now she couldn’t find them? Call it wishful thinking, but another look wouldn't have hurt, at least to make sure nothing else was missing. Each step contained all of her willpower to not just sprint and retrieve all of her stuff, but letting relief over something she wasn't sure about take control of her was like setting herself up for disappointment. That she still felt once after emptying her bag on the bedroll under her and finding that the weapons were still missing.
“Are you looking for these?“ She didn't need to turn around and see whose voice was that to roll her eyes. Did he need to follow her like a shadow? Hardly containing her annoyance and discomfort in being caught red handed, she finally allowed her gaze to linger on his presence, before dropping on his hands with a nervous exale full of a mix of panic and rage at the recognition of her gun and knife. Joshua's .45 to be precise, because of course she brought such a recognizable piece of work in a camp full of men who wanted him dead. “Give them back.“ “Didn't the guard confiscate everything? That's not good. Caesar is pretty serious about this. Everyone is, except you. And the guard, apparently, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and guess you possess hands fast enough to be able to evade our men's eyes.“ “How can I leave my weapons when all I see is a terrible treatment towards women and hear your men wanting to "try me out"? I don't think it's some unexpected event, me wanting to keep myself safe, now, is it?" Her voice wavered slightly, but she stood her ground. At that point, hiding the truth, was quite useless and probably counter productive. Plus. she hated lying. No matter how dangerous the situation, if they discovered any lie behind her word, at that moment, she would have been done for, together with her plan of saving the army she could have had for Vegas in the underground bunker of The Fort. “Guess you don’t trust me either? What a pity, and here I thought you were pretty comfortable chit chatting with me this morning.“ Vulpes laughed so slightly, his voice devoid of any finality or sincerity towards the words he himself pronounced and he threw her pistol on the mat with half box of bullets, keeping the rest and her dagger in his own sack before raising his chin, a serious expression on his sharp features scrutinizing her. “Use it with any unworthy reasoning and I will personally make sure you won’t leave this camp.“
Six looked at the pistol for any signs of tampering within or on the pistol, finding none. It was just there between her hands, perfectly fine. She looked up at him with very poorly concealed confusion before nodding and hiding her weapon in her beauty case, then back in her backpack. “I have to say, that placement would have fooled many. Although pretty predictable, I cannot deny it's slightly ingenuous, I'll give that to you, Courier. I hope tonight will serve your slumber well once you'll come back. Not that you seemed to have any problem, last one.“ With that subtle warning, he abandoned the tent, leaving behind a flustered courier that just smacked herself on the forhead for real now that she knew for sure he was the one behind all of that situation. And her stomach ache for the whole morning.
Now that she knew for sure he was keeping a close eye on her, sleeping wouldn't exactly come easily or sharing the same serenity the tiredness of the previous day bestowed upon her the night before. Although she still wondered, as she closed the tent, why did he leave her that pistol or why he didn't tell Caesar about it. All was promptly discarded as his way too big ego. That man knew no humility or whatsoever anyway, so it didn't come as a surprise he thought her skill with guns wasn't enough to best him or whoever she decided to fire upon. Backpack on her shoulders, she decided not to dwell on matters of the Legion any longer for the day and leave to complete more of her duties as a courier. After all, no matter how dire the situation was, everyone seemed short of one single man to do some kind of job and the caps in her pockets didn't really hurt.

Bullet Train (War For Rayuba Round 7)
Round 7 of the War For Rayuba original comic tournament allowed some fights to be 2v2, so naturally I wanted to do one! In this round, I collabed with artist E.M. Fields (find him on twitter under @EMFields_Art, he's awesome) to make a comic where Shoota and his OC Primrose took on @moiderahart's Elena Hellfire and @goatwright's Alphonse Railcatcher!
Fields and I traded off pages, so I'll post only the pages I drew here!

As usual, see below for the thumbnails I did to prepare the comic! I thumbed the second half of the comic, and Fields worked off of my thumbs for his pages in that section, while I worked off his layouts for the pages I did in the first half of the comic!

A pristine suit-
An elegant operatic mask-
Months of planning-
Wasted.
All because a certain someone couldn’t keep their mouth shut. Alas, attempting to scam your business associates is never exactly a good idea, especially when the existing agreement between the two parties is… fragile, to put it gently. Everett had always preached that the only way to run this world, their world, was through connections, the more relations to power, the more people in their pockets, the better. Their dear cohorts, however, seemed to disagree with this sentiment. Otherwise, they doubted they would be here now.
Everett could barely stand to imagine those two, from them proposing this stupid sham of a deal in the first place to ratting them out the second they had a chance, to-
Gunshots echoed through the halls, interrupting their train of thought, being significantly too close for Everett’s comfort. Not a second after, the villain Arcane appeared behind, disheveled and quaking with fury. His eyes shone white as he aimed, then fired, at Everett. Screaming as a bullet embedded itself into their leg, Everrett whipped around toward their attacker. If this was the game Arcane wanted to play, then he should have chosen a different opponent. The room lit up in an electric flash, lights sparking and shattering, before falling into complete darkness. With an arc of their hands, waves of power were sent across the room, scorching all they touched. A violent shriek could be heard in the darkness, but Everett had no time to check if their target had survived, and, grabbing the nearest wall for support, they ran.
It was times like these that they were most grateful to have always memorized the layout of the building, in which an exchange would take place before they had even stepped foot inside. With the help of small surges of energy to light their way, they managed to find their way into a corridor with one flickering, neon exit sign straight ahead. Hobbling over to the door and propping themselves against a wall, Everett reached down to examine their leg. In the dim red glow, red could barely make out the lodged bullet, however, they could regrettably still feel it. They tore at their suit, ripping off a chunk to use as a bandage, hoping to stall the blood loss slightly.
Grunting, they pushed the emergency door open, hit suddenly with the cold night air. A million stars twinkled overhead, but they were not the only thing staring down at them from above. For there stood their now ex-comrade, Forge, a smug grin plastered across his half-covered face, not but three floors over where Everett exited. With no time to lose, Everett raced down the stairs, Forge hot on their heels. The man threw himself over the railing, hoisting himself up onto the floor below.
“How are you feeling tonight, friend?” called the villain, spitting out the last word as though it was fire to the tongue.
“I- What were you thinking, Forge? Never mind, don’t bother answering that, I don’t want to hear your bullshit reasoning.”
“I was thinking about how you don’t seem to help me nearly as much as you hinder.”
With that declaration, Forge aimed a burning punch at them. The wall behind them cracked, melting rapidly at the point of contact. Everett knew that making any physical exposure to Forge would leave them howling and hoping for some damn Neosporin. Another adrenaline-filled day, another flashy fight, another disastrous show. But they could avoid all the pain Forge brought with ease, if only they could stick their performance’s final landing.
Pushing themselves off the fire escape's railing with as much force as they could muster, Everett took one last look at their friend, and the moment their feet left the metal, electrified the entire steel staircase. A look of horror flashed through Forge’s eyes before they were overcome by agony. Everett had heard plenty of screaming and crying in their time, with much being caused by their own hand, but nothing could have prepared them to listen to those of their once closest friend.
A whimper of pain escaped their lips as they landed roughly on the ground below. Everett attempted to rise to their feet but found themselves crumbling under their own weight. If their leg hadn’t been messed up before, then it was safe to say it was now. The impromptu bandage was a bloody mess, Everetts's side ached from where they had hit the ground. Each breath was a struggle as they were left gasping for air. They weren’t safe here, in a hotel parking lot, their now enemy mere feet away. Groaning, they tried to pull themselves away from the wreckage that they had left behind. Their vision swam with stars as every inch of their body cried out in anguish.
Crack
Their back collided harshly with the brick wall behind them, as they were pulled up by the collar and thrown. Their attacker stood, fists raised, prepared to finish what Arcane had started. They say people fight the hardest when backed into a corner, and with adrenaline flowing furiously through their veins, Everett hoped the saying was true. Maneuvering past the first blow, but falling victim to the second, they felt their mask fly off their face, losing what small but valuable protection it had given. When the third hit came, Everett reached up to intercept it, aiming a well-timed kick to their opponent’s gut. Thrashing they were dragged to the ground by their assailant. Their opponent was larger, and more experienced in physical combat, and it showed as Everett found themselves taking a brutal fist to the face, followed by a knee to the gut.
They attempted to end this fight, to throw thunder from their fingertips just to find- nothing. There on their wrist, a suppressor cuff. It had been latched on during the scuffle without them noticing.
Oh God no
Everett felt the blood rushing down their face, they heard the suffering screams, yet they could barely recognize them as their own. They weren’t ready to die, not yet. This wasn't part of the plan. This wasn't in the script.
The brunette braced themselves for pain, pain that would never come. Instead, they felt their assailant's weight lifted from their chest, as they were pulled off the ground and into steady arms. Muffled words were spoken above them, but the sounds meant nothing to Everett, only the warmth and care with which their savior cradled them. Fingers ghosted over the wound on their leg, while Everett couldn’t help but flinch at the pain it sparked.
Shouts echoed, nothing but white noise that fell upon Everett’s uncaring ears as the gentle arms holding them slipped away. They tried to grasp them, to beg their angel to stay, but their body had long fallen into a state of resistance. Though their vision blurred and their head spun violently, Everett opened their eyes to see a blonde woman, hair streaked with vibrant pink, standing defensively in front of them. A white swan-like mask hid her face from view, a stark contrast to the black of her suit. She was a hero then.
Their hero.
Whatever fool had tried to approach the pair was floored in seconds, caught in an unseen web, unknowing of their entrance into the spider’s lair. With a flick of her wrist, their hero tightened the individual’s unseen restraints, circling them before latching a pair of suppressor cuffs onto them. Everett found themselves searching through fuzzy memories for any recollection of a hero with similar abilities or appearance. In their hazy state, all that they could turn up were blanks.
They were pulled out of their musings as raised voices accompanied by thundering footsteps approached.
“Stay here. I’ll take care of this, alright?” the blonde turned her back to them, stepping toward the sound.
Everett stared as the woman lifted herself into the air, suspending herself pointedly overhead, observing as she made an odd motion with her hands. As a man rounded the corner, most likely trying to track Everett down, they were a wanted criminal after all, their hero lunged. She swung downward, the man’s skull collided with the concrete with a horrid sound. A bullet whizzed by her as she flipped back up and into the air. It was less like Everett was watching a clash and closer to them viewing an orchestrated performance. Each maneuver was made in elegant swings and every attack was delivered in graceful leaps. The star themself paled in the glory of the woman before them.
“Are you alright? I mean- You didn’t get hurt any further, right?” the blonde questioned.
The question flew right past Everett, for the woman's mask had been torn slightly in the fight, allowing them a glimpse of soft auburn eyes.
"I.. your"
Though their words failed them, Everett’s vague gesturing toward the hero's face seemed to get their point across.
"Oh, uh thank you, I didn't even notice that."
Through the gap in her mask, Everett swore that their hero's cheeks took on a rosy hue. She bent down, taking their injured leg into her hands and carefully examining it. The hero reached up to her ear, Everett hearing a soft click before she began to speak.
“Primo- yes, I’m alright. There’s a civilian, a staff member?” she shot Everett a questioning look as she spoke. They nodded quickly in reply, having forgotten that they had lost their mask in the fray. Their hero probably assumed they were some poor hotel employee caught up in a villainous team-up gone wrong. A witness who had almost been eliminated for simply being at the wrong place, at the wrong time. They doubted that any hero would treat them with such kindness if they were aware of Everett’s actual profession.
“-needing serious medical attention- Out where the fire escape should lead to, in the parking lot… I have a few wrapped up down here. Yep, I’ll be with you soon.”
Another click sounded, and their hero turned toward them to speak.
“Alright, there’s a healer on their way right now, they’ll be here in a moment, I promise. Just hold on a little longer, ok?”
Though Everett’s head was swimming, they gave their hero a small smile, nodding. Their gesture was seemingly returned by the hero, though the lower half of her face was covered, Everett could swear they felt it. Focusing on the cold brick digging into their skin from behind, they attempted to ground themselves, for they weren’t safe yet. Would the heroes try and move them to a medical facility? They couldn’t risk their identity being exposed, after all. Currently, Everett appeared to be nothing more than a civilian, but if that defense fell, they would be left injured and vulnerable. But none of that would matter if Everett died beforehand, so here they sat, waiting to be saved by the enemy.
Their hero seemed to catch on to Everett’s distress, for out came rambles of fairytales they hadn’t heard since childhood. They wondered if she had used this to calm children down before or if it was what she defaulted to when someone was stressed. Everett couldn’t deny that it was a good distraction from the pain, a hero sitting side by side with a villain, energetically recollecting the tale of Rumpelstiltskin, hands gesturing rapidly in emotion. Telling the villain of a miller’s daughter and an impish man who spun straw into gold. As their hero began to speak of the woman’s second night in the king’s captivity, she cut her story short.
Looking up, they watched as their hero waved someone, they presumed the healer she had spoken of, over. Crouching down, the two exchanged a few words before their hero gave a quick two-finger salute, departing. With a flick of her wrist, the woman leaped into her own unseen web, climbing up and to the entrance of the top floor.
Everett watched as she disappeared from their sight, feeling the healer’s powers spread through their side. The pain spiked and then subsided as their body swiftly rehabilitated itself. Questions flew from the hero’s mouth the second that Everett seemed in a proper condition to answer them. Who do you work for? Why were you attacked? What and who did you see? Why are you wearing a power suppressor? Playing the part of the fool, Everett allowed themselves to burst into tears, crying about how they just wanted to go home, how they didn’t mean to enter the wrong room- how they had been shot at and hit, thrown out the fire escape- Obviously their sob story worked as the healer hastily tried to comfort them, they weren’t nearly as good at it as their hero, and after prying away the suppressor, promised to deliver them to an area in which they would be safe, or at least away from the fighting.
Though the healer remained concerned, Everett could tell they were needed elsewhere, and with little convincing, managed to be left alone just outside the hotel's gates. As the hero turned to leave, Everett heard their communicator click softly, before calling a name, Puppeteer. Like being doused with an ice-cold bucket of water, they were awoken from their stupor. Puppeteer was a recently debuted hero, being on the field as a hero, not as a sidekick for only a few months. Her power? Strings of fate. The ability to create and manipulate linear structures, strings, if you would, being visible to her and her alone.
That was their hero.
With a sigh and no hope of getting a proper ride tonight, they begrudgingly walked to the nearest bus stop. Nothing like being chaffered to a high-end hotel, dressed to impress, and leaving at the end of the night a mess, in multiple ways. At least something good came from the night. Puppeteer, they tried the name out on their tongue, just to find it less than satisfactory. How they wished to speak to their hero freely, to learn who she was under the mask, to call her by her name, and not a title that some higher-up had chosen.
But for now, she was just that, Puppeteer, and they were just another civilian she had saved. Oh, how they hoped to change that fact. How they would.
What have I done AHhhhhhh constructive criticism is welcome but please be gentle cause I'm fragile, thanks for reading and have a lovely day/night
