Tumblr media
❤︎ ໋𓈒 Academics !! 🎀
More Goals of mine are to raise my grades in an academic space bc i do have decent grades but i wanna aim higher and have PERFECT Grades so in turn that means i must study more and have more discipline and not so irresponsible with my time!! and i also wanna study subjects outside of school bc its always good to learn something new!! now for learning tips so far i have..

❤︎ ໋𓈒 Scheduling !! ⭐️
Now That im gonna be so busy i need to make sure i also stay organized with my time so it doesn’t lead to stress so ill have my regular school classes on my regular schedule then making dedicated hours to studying Things i wanna learn about + Language Learning!
My Workouts are always early morning before school in the evening hours before i got to bed so i won’t have to worry about that affecting my academics. With my Hobbies i feel like only some of them really need scheduling so ill also make time dedicated to those as well !!!!

whats one thing that bill loves that absolutely NO ONE wouldve guessed? like not in a TRILLION YEARS cause thats how out-of-pocket it is for him to like said thing???
also love your work <33 :) its one of the very few fanfictions where i can feel the true essence of bill cipher and that is very important to me
Thanks! I've tried to squeeze in as much Bill essence as I can.
"What's the most unexpected thing he likes" depends entirely on what you expect, and I feel like that's subjective. You could argue some of the things he likes in canon are pretty unexpected; while, on the other hand, even the unexpected stuff "makes sense" if you have the reason for it. So here's a list of random things that, while they make sense for Bill, might be surprising if you're trying to think of what would fit the image of an evil chaos party god:
First the canon. I feel like "silly straws" isn't exactly SURPRISING for Bill, but I doubt anyone would have expected him to like them enough to voluntarily bring it up if he hadn't. Like there's a long list of likable things he skipped over specifically to give silly straws a shout out.
Some people headcanon he can't actually play the piano and his little performance for Ford was all magic, but I like to headcanon he actually knows how to play and enjoys it. Which implies an unexpected amount of patience and dedicated practice out of a pretty flighty guy.
I mean I don't think anyone would have assumed that meditation fits his vibe.
Fandom's got a pretty good handle on associating him with brightly-colored busy patterns, but only with traditionally masculine or gender neutral aesthetics. Think bowling alley carpets patterns, lava lamps, Hot Wheels-style paint jobs, fire and lightning and lasers. But there's a tendency to overlook aesthetics that are associated with femininity. He WOULD be into Lisa Frank, decora, intricate neon nail art, magical girls that look like they're wearing hyper-saturated overly-complicated dance outfits covered in 24k gold and jewels as big as your thumb, extravagant hats, extravagant jewelry, girly drinks, girly desserts, glam fashion & decor, bubbles, bouquets, rainbows, and hot pink. To Bill, everything is gender neutral.
I think most people wouldn't expect Bill to be into surreal cerebral art films rather than, like, juvenile slapstick or action. But on the other hand, the line between "this is haunting" and "this is boring" is razor thin for him, so he doesn't always like the cerebral films.
He hasn't discovered this yet but he'd love the beach. Sunshine and swimming. The lake would do too.
I don't think anyone would anticipate that Gravity Falls is, actually, in fact, one of his favorite places in the dimension. He mainly keeps complaining about the town because every time he's there, he's TRAPPED AND CAN'T GET OUT.
He's really into math, just recreationally. He would read a whole book about proving Fermat's Last Theorem. He probably proved the theorem himself by 1700. Told no one. He was just bored that week.
Ford got him into DD&MD. Bill wasn't just humoring his human pawn, he genuinely enjoys it. Gets really into the roleplaying and storytelling. He hasn't had anyone to play with in thirty years. Prefers the 90s edition.
Everyone assumes Bill's just humoring Mabel by letting her put on Color Critters tapes. It's like Care Bears crossed with Rainbow Brite and the morals are twice as heavy-handed. But he actually does enjoy the show, it's just for the wrong reasons.
You'd expect the guy who destroyed his home dimension to hate it. There are books, songs, instruments, cars, plays, hotels, cities, convention centers, dams, field trip destinations, even rocks that he misses dearly and will never see again. He still writes to himself and talks to other shapes in his native language. He still constructs houses without ceilings. He still hugs with one arm and shakes hands sideways. He loves his dead dimension. Few people outside of the other surviving shapes know this.
So you decide which is most unexpected!!

A Ballad To No One
Book: The Royal Romance Character: Hana Lee Rating: G Word count: 670 Reading time: ~1min Summary: Hana carries a secret she isn't willing to share with just anyone. Based on the prompt: @choicesnovchallenge: Music/Musicians Day
Author’s notes:
Hana Lee belongs to Pixelberry Studios;
I was supposed to post this during @hanaleeappreciationweek, but my muse wasn't cooperating at the time;
I'm picturing Hana in this oneshot as a child/pre-teen, before the ball she rebelled against her parents playing a song out of key on purpose.
Tumblr media
Hands glided on the piano keys as Hana once again tried to follow the fast paced notes of Chopin's Étude Op. 10 No. 4. At this point, she didn't even know how many times she had repeated that tricky bar in which she missed the tempo. Or how long she had been practicing that same piece since her classes ended. Her mother would host a party in two days and for some reason she couldn't fathom, her mother insisted Hana should play Étude Op. 10 No. 4. Of all Chopin's etudes, why did she choose the hardest one?
As her ring finger slipped, hitting the wrong key, she frowned. Taking a deep breath, she looked back at the sheet music, hummed the bar one more time at a slower pace, then began to play again. As she got it right, she tried again, but faster. Then a little faster. Faster! Faster! Faster! Before she could avoid it, the wrong note echoed in the room, making a strange, dissonant sound.
Huffing in frustration, Hana placed both hands on her legs and took a deep breath. If it was up to her, she could tear that stupid sheet music and never play that piece again. She didn't even like that piece. But she couldn't say no and walk out of the room. Whenever her parents told her to do something, there was no time for questions, scowls or long faces. She did as she was told and that was it. But just because she didn't protest it didn't mean she was happy to obey.
Why so many etiquette lessons? Why did she have to take such strange classes completely unrelated to one another? 'It'll prepare you for courtly life', her mother used to say. But what was the use of preparing herself to live somewhere she didn't even know, for a life she didn't choose?
Hana shook her head, as if to shake away those thoughts and looked back at the sheet music again. Tapping her right foot on the floor, Hana studied the tempo once more and played it slower again.
"Such a dull piece..." She thought to herself. It didn't have a nice melody. it wasn't fun to play... Did anyone ever feel anyone except anxiety while playing this? Did anyone who play it had any other intention to play it except show off how skilled they were at the piano?
Playing the piano shouldn't make her feel like this... Is music a form of art? Isn't it a form of expression for the author of the piece? Shouldn't the performer feel something about it?
Hana then stopped playing and closed Chopin's songbook. There was no point in playing it. Looking down at the piano keys, the young girl tried to remember the last time she felt something while playing the piano. It wasn't during any of the parties hosted by her parents. Nor during recitals. She always felt uncomfortable while playing for an audience.
As her fingers ambled on the piano keys again, following the chromatic scale, memories of her first piano classes flooded her mind. How exciting it felt to play for the first time, the warm ups, learning music theory, the first piece she ever played, the first song she wrote...
Once she played the key she failed so many times, it sparkled something within her. She then played a chord that sounded nice with the note, creating an harmonic sound. Hana continued to play without any sheet music, occasionally writing the sequence of notes and chords in her notebook.
Before her, an original piece came to life. Quite a surprise, given how rare inspiration struck. As Hana played the song once again, she pictured someone dancing, gracefully following the rhythm. She couldn't see their face, but something told her they were smiling.
As the song came to an end, a sense of yearning spread in her chest. Composing this piece was quite fulfilling, yet she couldn't help but wish she could've seen that someone's face. Perhaps they would like to dance while she played. Carrying her notebook, Hana closed the piano lid and stood up to leave the music room. For now, no one would know about it. But hopefully, someday she would meet someone who would dance to her song.

This is neither here nor there but I love the idea of gaara being super into music but *solely* to have deep thoughts about the lyrics while almost disregarding the music itself entirely. mcr famous last words 'I am not afraid to keep on living/ I am not afraid to walk this world alone' 🤔 wow just like when I spoke to kankuro. carly rae jepsen call me maybe 'before you came into my life I missed you so bad' 🤔 the depth of yearning for a precious thing missing from your life that you dont even realise you're missing. billy joel piano man 'they're sharing a drink they call loneliness/ but it's better than drinking alone' 🤔 the pain of loneliness leads one to seek companionship in the most unlikely of places. Do you see my vision
Thank you for this ask as it has allowed me to consider aspects of Gaara I would've never thought of.
Mostly, I think Gaara is a little...hmmm....BORING! But then again, I don't think that's true, either. Let me explain:
I don't think that, according to his "default", he has appreciation for things like music, art, fiction or movies. Likely this is the result of how he was raised in isolation, where the feelings conjured by artists eluded him because he couldn't relate to the characters nor appreciate the source the story came from. This habit of disregarding things that weren't "more serious" or "relevant" to his everyday life then carried over to his current self, as since becoming Kazekage, he really has no time to partake in leisure (but very necessary) practices like experiencing art.
Now here's where the complexity of Gaara's character really comes into play:
I believe, wholeheartedly, that Gaara would actually make a FANTASTIC artist, and that he could learn to be moved through art with the right guidance and proding.
Gaara has poor art literacy. He doesn't see a movie or read a book to explore themes; rather he sees them as very objective plot lines such as "first A happened, then B, then C, then it ends."
Basically, Gaara can parse through a story for information but he needs to work on tapping into his empathy for characters that may not exist.
I guarantee that if you get this man into a book club, he would show up to the second or third meeting after reading a few chapters and he would be BLOWN AWAY by what other people had observed; the emotion, the themes, the ambiguity, the subtle things he missed because he wasn't reading the book "correctly."
It would be a borderline religious experience for him, I swear to you.
Even with music, as you suggest. Gaara would see it as "noise" but you get him to really think about what emotion in conjures - what power can be moved through lyrics - and suddenly his mind would be completely and totally blown. Especially if you get him with the symbolism of different instruments. He would suddenly see it as a language that he didn't even know existed (which he would find really cool)!
As I said before, he would probably make a really great artist himself. If you sit him down and you tell him to paint, draw, sculpt, or even write a poem about his life you would get something very moving and powerful. The type of art that brings you to your knees. But alas, he wouldn't really be moved by his own piece, either. Sure, it would be lightly therapeutic for him to have created something from his soul, but it would seem almost mundane to him.
Any art he creates he would see as just being a reflection of his life - or at least how he would see it - and it wouldn't mean anything to him passed "this is what happened to me, and it hurt, but things are better and the world is a better place."
Which begs the question:
Is Gaara really artistically illiterate? Or has he experienced so much in his life that anything that would move the masses, emotionally destroy you or me, simply be too elementary to him?
Either way...I vote that you drag him to concerts and plays, and you share music with him. At the very least, he would (as his current self) appreciate the bonding moment.

Fun hobbies/activities
Make bracelets
Making bracelets n other jewelry is sooo much fun!! I love making colorful rainbows and being able to wear them with ur outfits is the bestest!!
Tumblr media
(some bracelets I’ve made!!)
Singing
in the shower, while doing chores, humming, etc. just sing your heart out! There’s nothing to be embarrassed about, because it’s not about what you sound like, what matters is whether or not you’re enjoying yourself!
Tumblr media
Swimming
I love feeling like a mermaid or fish!! And if you don’t know how to swim, you could always wear floaties!! There’s nothing wrong with learning late. <3
Tumblr media
Workout
I know a lot of people might not have the energy too, and I once dreaded the idea too, but I seriously recommend trying to work some exercise into your routine! It’s very rewarding and it does get easier!! Make sure to do a warm up before you start and a cool down once you’ve finished!
Tumblr media
Adding on to that: Gymnastics/acrobatics
Jumps, flips, splits, and stretches! But please stay safe!
Final addition to exercise: Dancing
Do you like Vocaloid? Try to copy the dances from the videos! Or maybe you like some other genre, like pop! YouTube surely has lots of choreography videos you can practice! (And remember to warm up)
Tumblr media
Crochet
You may be thinking it’s only for grannies, but crocheting is actually super duper fun and you can make bunches of wonderful and colorful things with some practice!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Make outfits
You could coordinate some outfits for the future!! And remember to stay true to yourself and not let others negatively impact your choice of clothing, wear what *you* want to!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pick up a new instrument
Maybe you want to learn the keyboard, or the piano, or the guitar, or something more niche like a lyre! This is your sign to start!! It can be so rewarding to play ur very first song~
Tumblr media
Read manga or watch anime
There’s some really cute series out there!! My recommendations areee:
Bocchi the Rock (anime), K-on! (anime), Asagao to Kase-san (manga), Chi’s Sweet Home (manga), and Sailor Moon
(all of these have both an anime and a manga, these are just my personal recommendations!!)
Tumblr media
Explore!
If possible, maybe you could try to explore in your backyard, safe buildings, or even your own house! Maybe you’ll even make a cool discovery!!
Roller-skate
Sure, riding a bicycle or scooter is exciting, but have you tried roller skating? I can promise you it’s tons of fun! But please be careful if you decide to learn, and remember to put ur safety first!!!
Tumblr media
Make up new words
Scruffleruffle, chrumpchi, wuzzle… maybe others won’t understand you, but it sure can be fun to make special additions to your vocabulary! (Just… make sure that they aren’t actual words with different meanings first!!)
Coloring
You can make your own line art, you can get a coloring book, or you can even print out coloring sheets!! Keep in-touch with ur inner child. <3
Tumblr media
Music
Listen to music! Make a new playlist or dance to an old one, there’s lots of opportunities!!
Tumblr media
Paint/trim nails
You could file or trim yours nails, clean them, and paint them or ask someone to paint them for you! Or maybe you could even paint someone else’s nails! Practice makes perfect.
Tumblr media
Collecting
Start collecting something you love! Recently, I started collecting plushies and Teto merch because I love them!!
Tumblr media
Decorate your room!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Some inspiration!!)
Name your plushies!!
You can come up with special names, make up some names, or even look to your search engine for some names/nicknames for your stuffies!! Maybe you could even write them some “lore”/stories!!
Tumblr media
Bake
Bake a cake, or just make yourself a tasty treat! You deserve it.
Tumblr media
Journaling
Writing out your feelings or just putting down whatever makes you happy, whether that be doodles, song lyrics, memories, etc.
Tumblr media
Take care of yourself!
Do your skincare, take a shower, change your clothes or your bedsheets, brush your teeth, eat, or even just taking a sip of water! Please remember that even if you don’t feel like it now, you’re worth it. I’m sure you’ve heard it a thousand times already, but I understand. There were times I wished to never wake up, and now that I’m better, I’m happy that I pushed through and kept looking for the better future everyone promised me!

I have absolutely been hyperfixating on this game again now that I'm finally home and have been able to play for a little bit. And by a little bit I mean it's all I've done whenever I can. So, here's my first farmer for the 1.6 update! <3 The meadowlands farm has my heart This is Iris, who recently moved from Zuzu City to Stardew Valley. I play with both Stardew Expanded and Ridgeside, so there will be content and (possibly spoilers) of those storylines as well as the main game. But mostly silly screenshots and maybe the occasional doodle or drabble :)
Tumblr media
I have no idea who she might romance. I'm developing her story in my head as we go, and honestly, she's close with Seb, Leah, Shiro, June, Kiarra, and Sam. If I were to guess, I think Shiro or June are the most likely bachelors for her. She's 22 and I headcannon most of the young-ish bachelors and bachelorettes to be between 20-30, and I think Jenna Ortega probably would be one of my bigger models for how I imagine her facial features, with some obvi changes once I eventually put pencil to paper. She was planning to graduate with a double major in psych and lit, but tuition fees and cost of life in a city are monstrous. Working two jobs was not the good idea she thought it would be. While she loved her job at the coffee shop, balancing that with her office job at Joja AND school was a nightmare. Plus, the coworkers were a little creepy and the work environment at Joja was generally toxic, let's be real.
Tumblr media
She's the type to walk around town with a fresh cup of coffee in hand or her nose in a book and has probably bumped into many of the villagers this way. She often has panda eyes to rival Seb- she suffers from occasional insomnia and, if that wasn't enough, she's very likely to be so engrossed in a book that she loses track of time and now she has to go feed the chickens and tend to the crops already.
She has slight corvid vibes- not in the emo way per se, but because she loves collecting random little shiny or interesting things and has a growing collection of trinkets at home, and she -will- start leaving random gifts for the people she likes without them necessarily noticing. So if you come home to a random shiny object (especially if there's a small label with a pressed flower attached), you've got her to blame. She can also be an absolute little shit when she feels like it. And she's loyal as fuck. Iris loves music. She grew up playing piano and guitar with her dad. This is part of why she gets along so well with Seb and Sam, and she often hangs out w them when they have band practice. Maybe sometimes even jams with them a bit or sings along (she has a decent voice). She does -NOT- get along with Abby for reasons we'll get into eventually. She loves myths and folklore, so you can imagine she is going crazy trying to discover the secrets of the valley and is constantly hounding Marlon and Rasmodius (the Wizard) for more information. Oh, and she had never held a sword before in her LIFE, so she's had to take up weekly lessons with Marlon since moving to the valley. She kind of loves it though. My girl is terrified of heights, so as you can imagine her first trip on the cable car to Ridgeside was... something. I'll write that one up eventually. First few trips, even.
She loves reading by the ocean so if you can't find her anywhere, try there. Or the library, she might be begging Gunther to order in more books. Pressed flower art is one of her hobbies, and her farming style largely focuses on growing flowers for sale and her own art/gifts, as well as livestock. Although she's started with only the two little chickens that come with the Meadowlands farm, Viola and Piccolo.
Hmmm.... Ask me anything you want! I want to play more tonight, but then I'll start organizing some of my screenshots and maybe also organizing my ideas for some one-shots or drabbles I want to write of how the first year is going. Have some portraits :3

Thanks for the tag, @lylakoi. I enjoyed knowing things about you.
Here we go:
5 Songs:
Galadriel by New Better Spring Band, Dalai Lama by Emma Salokoski, HÄN by Saara Aalto, Girl Into Devil by S.J. Tucker, Dips by Daisy the Great. These came to mind first.
Three ships you like: KagaKuro (KnB), Willow/Tara (BTVS), Lorelai/Luke (Gilmore Girls). These three are the most actively on my mind right now.
First ship ever: I'm not sure what I count as shipping. I feel like being invested in a couple while watching/reading a story but never thinking about them outside of it doesn't quite make it. So, I think maybe Toya/Yukito (CCS) or Shiro/Saber (Fate/Stay Night).
Last song you heard: Some folk song my brother was playing on the piano but didn't know the name of.
Favorite Childhood Book: Siniliina books by Silja Frangén. (Blueline? Bluelyn? Not sure how to explain the main character's name in English.) It's a fairy tale novel trilogy about a fairy who travels from the fairy world to the material world as a coming-of-age ritual, in search of their calling, guided by a "locker" in their heart which is shaped like a human. During their journeys, the fairy touches many creatures' and people's lives, sometimes unseen, sometimes forming a truly symbiotic relationship with them, most notably a couple of humans, who the fairy grows with and both mutually shape each other's lives, help each other's self-discovery, leaving a lasting positive impact when their paths naturally diverge. Generally there's some big self-development or family problem the fairy helps the human through, by simply being there. There's some practical magic, sure, but most of it is simply about being a friend who walks by you. These books were read to me when I was five, and the fairy's relationship with a lemming and one of their humans was true soulmate level shit to me, I don't think I still have recovered from them, they were simultaneously so fulfilling and heartbreaking. I also loved how the fairy's calling, or "career" if you will isn't just one clear thing, yes, it's about helping others, but it takes new shape and grows with them all the time, and they aren't limited to being a sidekick, it's always as much about the fairy as it is about the ones they help. These books made me as a person, and they made me a writer. I can now see not all the messages in these books are as good as they could be (particularly how the fairies are essentially genderless but still the ones with male coded names have traditionally masculine jobs and ones with female coded names have traditionally feminine ones, plus some eh takes on alcoholism), but the core of the books is psychologically and metaphorically complex and layered and just full of love, hope, acceptance and bonds in a way that really touched me deeply as a kid and will always move me, and mean the world to me. Also look at the art. It influenced me a lot too.
Tumblr media
5. Currently Reading: Psyche in a Dress by Francesca Lia Block
6. Currently Watching: Buffy The Vampire Slayer season 4 (Rewatch count unknown)
7. Currently Craving: To finish several writing and art projects.
No pressure, of course, but I will tag @lilypheria, @anonarat, @misfitmiska, @ni-kol-koru and @myndless88 .

When I think of my issues with Eloise I think of the scene where Daphne is literally composing music on the piano. And Eloise is bitching at her because she’s bothered by it. When she could easily leave the room and read somewhere else if it distracts her.
And then had the gall to imply that composing music and playing instruments isn’t “nourishing your mind” or something like that. As if that’s not a tremendous creative skill.
I’d like to see more scenes of Eloise getting over her assumptions about other women and seeing them for who they are. Instead of thinking they’re all shallow immediately and she’s the only enlightened one.
Well dear reader I've come to realize that it probably has to do with the fact that it doesn't take years of hard work to learn how to read as opposed to what it takes to learn to be a competent pianist . Maybe Show Eloise looks more "Relatable" than rude in that scene
And again this is a very misogynistic line of thinking for Eloise. Because men of her time did think that it was easy for a young lady to learn to play the piano.( And its not dear reader. Just ask the Smythe-Smith girls. ) But not as easy for a young lady to have an original thought.
And I don't know if any of you guys have watched a movie called 'the age of innocence' which gives a look at the archetypical 'innocent' piano playing society conforming debutante who is actually really really smart and uses her feminity to basically cut off any chances her husband has of leaving her and making him have no choice but to bend to her will as well.
In s1 Daphne spends the whole season trying to explain to people that it's not that she wants to comform to society. It's just that this is the tools she uses to survive. And both Anthony and Eloise don't hear her or pretend to understand her at all.
If Eloise survives by focusing more on reading social commentary books than getting to know people. Then good for her. Maybe that's where her skills thrive more. But the way I see it, pouring rudeness on someone else's lawn isnt really making hers any greener.
When Eloise brags about reading books and opening her mind, one could argue that Daphne could also point out that it's taken her years of practice to be good at playing a musical instrument. Just as it has taken Francesca. Furthermore composing music like any other artistic skill takes originality and creativity. Just because Daphne isn't despairing over her work being recognized by a music school like Benedict with his art. And considers caregiving her higher calling, Doesn't mean she's not proud of all she's learned or that she enjoys having it dismissed by her family.
Eloise talking about how women should aspire to be more than merely ornaments gives off nerd girl complaining about cheerleaders and ballerinas being so celebrated. When it takes tremendous athletic skill to be a cheerleader and to pass the necessary examinations to become a ballerina. Just as it takes to win a academic decathlon or a debate championship.
Dear readers I cannot stress this enough, we left the catty women vs women attitude in the early 2000's where it should stay. 'you belong with me' is a great song to jam to, but given all Taylor swift has gone through, I'm sure she's dying to write a last verse pointing out that there's really nothing wrong with being cheer captain and wearing high heels. Just as it's perfectly okay to wear band t-shirts and sneakers. If that's what you're into.
Women supporting women, that's what I want to see in media. Having each other's back instead of looking down on the one who's wearing pink just because you happen to like black better.
And that's the tea

So idk if this is something strange to post but ive been trying my hand at writing fanfic about miko lately since I dont trust my art skill to do the little scenes that I come up with. But I also have zero skill in writing so this probably isn't any good either lol but im having a good time with it. And if anyone cares about my little miko musings I figured I'd share
———
"If you have a moment or two to spare, pray consider playing a little tune or two on it to practice."
Miko trailed behind Artoirel and his manservant through the Firmament, but he immediately froze in his tracks as they came upon the twin grand pianos the man had been describing.
"Often it takes time to get accustomed to a new instrument," the manservant continued.
Miko, however, was barely listening as he slowly approached the pianos. The pair truly were a spectacle of craftsmanship. One was pure black, the light of the day peeking through the clouds brightly reflecting off it. The other was white. The soft ishgardian snowflakes dusting its surface just barely visible as they rested upon it. Miko made his way to the white one, his fingertips barely brushing along the edge of it as if his mere touch would mar its surface.
He moved around to the bench before the piano and immediately took a seat. The keys laid out before him just beckoning to be played.
"I must say our hero might not need much time to practice at all, Foncrineau," Artoirel grinned. "You look right at home, my friend. Have you played the piano before?"
Miko smirked lightly and placed his hands upon the keys. He didn't press down just yet, instead taking a moment to simply get the feel of it again. Being as musically inclined as he was, Miko had tried his skill on many instruments. If he put his mind to it he could play just about anything to a relatively pleasant extent. Enough to carry a tune at least. He found he was most fond of anything with strings but there was something special about the piano.
And as Miko felt the weight of his fingers on the keys it occured to him just how long it had been since he played. It really had been too long. And as he mused upon this thought a memory seemed to push itself forward. Not in the way the echo painfully did, no, but simply just a memory of his own from a simpler time.
———
Miko was just a boy in this memory. No more that nine or ten summers old. He had only just begun staying at this farm and its hyuran family for a couple of days. It had been strange but not unpleasant. The trauma of his loss was still fresh during this time so it was still difficult for him to truly allow himself to settle in. He still hung onto the expectation that his father would find him soon like he promised and take him home.
On this particular day he found himself wandering around the family's home. The man was somewhere out in the fields tending to whatever farmers busied themselves with. The woman was in the back of the house putting their small child down for a nap. This left Miko unattended for a time so he claimed the opportunity to quietly explore.
He wandered into the living area and trained his focus on a particular piece of furniture that had grabbed his attention when he had first arrived. It was big and wooden, but although the top of it seemed flat enough to hold trinkets, it was clearly not a shelf. Or at least not one he had ever seen before. There was, however, a booklet of some kind resting against the front of it. Miko glanced back over his shoulder for a moment to confirm he was still alone and reached out to skim through the booklet. He wasn't sure what he expected since he was well aware he wouldn't be able to read its contents even if he wanted to. But he didn't expect the strange lines and scribbles that filled the pages. He was fascinated by whatever these strange symbols could mean but he quickly lost interest in their mystery for now and placed the book back in its place.
What next caught his eye, and honestly the main reason the piece of furniture had caught his attention in the first place, were the small intricately carved designs on the wood. There were leaves and vines and flowers, all clustered together in the corners and along the surface. And among them were carvings of little creatures he instantly recognized to be sylphs. He had seen sylphs before playing among the toadstools while gathering herbs with his mother. She always warned him not to get too close. The green ones were nicer than the purple ones but they were still known to be tricksy.
As Miko reached out and began trailing a nail through the grooves of the carving, he liked to think this sylph was one of the green ones.
"It's pretty, isn't it?"
Miko jumped, immediately dropping his hand from the carving and whirling around to stare wide eyed at the woman behind him. His ears pressed flat against his head. The woman stood there leaning against the entryway with a soft smile. She had told him her name once when he first arrived but he still felt little reason to commit it to memory. He'd be leaving soon, after all, once his father returned for him.
"Oh goodness sorry. I didn't mean to scare you," she laughed lightly. Her laugh was sweet just like his mother's and it briefly tugged at Miko's chest as he inwardly berated himself for being so easily snuck up on.
"It's called a piano," the woman continued and gestured to the furniture before him. "Here let me show you." She tottered her way over to him, a hand on her pregnant belly. Once she made it to him she moved to reach beneath the piano and pull out the bench hidden below that Miko hadnt noticed before. He quickly hopped in to pull it out for her and she thanked him with a warm smile. She sat with a sigh that only a young mother can give and patted the spot on the bench beside her expectantly. Miko hesitated a moment before relenting and sitting beside her.
The woman tapped a finger to the wooden surface before them. "Go on, lift it up." She sounded almost giddy as Miko turned his wide eyed gaze from her to the spot she was pointing at. He wasn't sure what she expected of him to be honest. It didn't look like something he could lift, but as he curled his fingers into what seemed to be a seam in the wood and lifted, the panel easily gave way to reveal a long row of black and white keys beneath. Miko was instantly captivated. It was like he had revealed something mysterious and magical and hidden.
"My grandfather used to be a very skilled carpenter," the woman began. "He used to make all sorts of things but musical instruments were his specialty." Miko listened as he gazed at the keys before him. This was an instrument? They had many kinds of instruments in his village that he had played and loved but nothing like this. Suddenly the woman leaned in close to him, their shoulders bumping and whispered, "You know they say he even made some violins for an ishgardian orchestra that played before the archbishop himself."
Miko stared at her in awe. He didn't know what ishgard or an archbishop was at the time but it mustve been something truly important if she was being so secretive about it. She smiled and lightly giggled as she leaned away, Miko's attentive gaze never leaving her, hoping to learn more. But she instead gestured to the keys, "Go ahead. Push one."
Miko glanced at the keys with wonder. He carefully placed a finger on one and made to press down but it was sturdier than he anticipated and didn't give at first. So he tried again with more force.
DONG!
Miko jumped, ears once again flattening as he turned in the direction of the bedrooms where the toddler was sleeping. Immediate fear filled him. He hadn't expected it to play so loud.
The woman beside him laughed lightly again. "Dont worry about waking the little one. Once he goes out not even a calamity could wake him. Thank the Twelve for small mercies." Miko nervously looked back to her, calming a little. What happened next would remain in Miko's memory forever. The woman placed her hands on the keys and began to play. It was a pleasant tune. Something light and relaxing but Miko watched as her fingers seemed to dance along the piano. He found himself already placing each note and position of her fingers into his memory, the melody already latching onto him for later. He had always loved the sounds of the instruments back in his village, the strings and the flutes and the drums. Each would fill him with their deep and winded tones. But the sound of this was so different from any he had heard. It was almost like a chime but it rang so deep he could feel it run right through him and into his core. Oh he was already in love with this. He wanted to keep hearing more. To test out its limits for himself.
As the woman beside him played she began to speak to him as if the very act of playing the instrument was second nature. "This piece has always been one of my favorites. You strike me as someone who can appreciate it, too." Miko quietly nodded without taking his eyes off her hands.
She then suddenly stopped just as quickly as she began and gently placed a hand on her belly. "I hope to teach the little ones someday, but I dont think their hands will be quite dexterous enough for quite a while." She looked up towards him then, a gleam in her eyes. "How would you like to be my first student?" She said as she briefly booped a finger on the tip of his nose.
Miko's face scrunched up at the sudden contact but he turned his gaze down to the piano before him. He carefully and slowly placed his hands on the keys just as she had. For a moment he pressed his lips together in thought, then began to quietly hum the melody he had just heard her playing. It was soft, a bit raspy and broken in his throat from lack of use. But he ever so gently began to play the first few notes. It was slow going but the ease at which he so quickly picked it up was impressive. He felt a small smile tug at the corner of his lips and immediately stopped. Letting his hands rest upon the keys he thought, maybe it was okay if his dad took a little longer to find him if it meant he could learn how to play this just a little. He let the smile fully claim his face, as small and soft as it was, and turned to look at the woman next to him. "...sure."
———
As Miko pulled himself away from the memory he found himself smiling that same soft smile to himself. Remembering Artoirel had asked him a question he quickly straightened himself up and ran his fingers down along each of the keys with trained skill. "I have but I confess it's been quite a while," I replied with a grin.
"Well, it seems the Firmament will be in for quite a show," said Artoirel.
Miko chuckled and quickly scanned over the sheet of music already placed on the piano before him. Artoirel claimed he had written this piece so Miko was already determined to do his friend's creation justice. He softly started humming the new melody to himself, as he was wont to do with new pieces, before turning his attention back to Artoirel.
"You keep up writing music like this and you'll soon be writing symphonies for the Eorzean orchestra."
Artoirel chuckled, "Please, you praise me overmuch."
Miko laughed softly and turned his attention back to the piano before him. His heart suddenly warmed at the thought of performing before the people of the Firmament despite the cold of the snow. He'd have to write home about this and let mom know he got to perform a musical number to the esteemed ishgardians.

lol I haven't posted in this tag since may but here we go. long rambling thoughts about 2022:
2022 was a big year for me, which is weird because it doesn't really feel that way. I started the year in a very different mental and emotional place than where I am now, and a lot of the goals I set and things I expected to change just haven't been as relevant as I anticipated. for better and for worse, I'm at the same job and in the same apartment I was a year ago. it seems likely that will be the case at the end of 2023, too.
but under the surface, a lot of things have changed. I started a major solo project at work (as opposed to juggling half a dozen smaller projects), and I got some accommodations that mean I'm a lot less worn out in all the other areas of my life. I completed my conversion to judaism. I started applying to phd programs, then changed my mind, decided to pursue independent research, and started a new creative nonfiction project that may or may not be a book someday. I've also taken on some new responsibilities, not all of them totally planned - team leader for an organization I started volunteering with last january, committee member for a professional organization I'm active in. I've been gradually getting better at being consistent and following through on some of the side projects I say yes to.
having more energy outside of work (relatively speaking) means I've been able to be more intentional with my hobbies, which I'm starting to have rather a lot of. I kept up bouldering from last year, more or less, and in the summer started looking for a kung fu gym to get back into martial arts, which I haven't done for years but have missed a lot. I am really loving the school and style (mantis) where I landed. at this point I am probably in the best shape I've been since sophomore year of high school, though it strikes me that I had to find solutions for my chronic fatigue before I could make regular exercise happen. I do think it contributes to me having more energy, but there's no way I could have been this active last year and still worked full time.
I didn't write as much fiction as I'd hoped this year - only about 50,000 words total, and I haven't posted at all. on the other hand, I'm still happily working on the same projects I was at the beginning of the year, which is truly unprecedented. the goal is definitely to finish at least one of them this year.
I did reach a lot of my language-learning goals, including finishing the chinese tree on duolingo, getting comfortable with the hebrew alphabet, and finding ways to keep up my spanish. on the other hand, I haven't been cooking or practicing piano much - possibly because I haven't been trying much in the way of new things and am getting a little bored.
I've read 64 books this year and will probably finish another two or three before the end of the year, exceeding my (low, for me) goal of 60. a lot of those books were lengthy nonfiction, which may be why the overall number isn't as high as it was a few years ago. I have also been watching a lot more TV, though. 2022 was really the year of the cdrama for me, but there were several other fantastic shows: the sandman, reservation dogs, a league of their own, killing eve. musically, the mountain goats have unsurprisingly stayed my #1 band, but I listened to a wider range of stuff compared to last year (shoutout to my habibi and ibibio sound machine kick of the last couple months). I also tried a couple of new video games, hades and control. I am not good at the third-person shooter format, but it keeps me from destroying things.
the one neglected area of my 2022 goals that I would really like to pick back up in the new year is improvements to my living space, like getting enough shelf space for my books and making sure the kitchen/dining areas stay functional.

15, 58, and 67?
15. favorite book you read as a school assignment?
i loved hamlet when i read it in school! it's arguably still my favourite shakespeare play - either that or much ado about nothing
58. four talents you’re proud of having?
oooooh. i've been playing the piano for like 15 years, practicing HEMA for 2, and i'm really proud of my writing & art! i have... so many hobbies and am constantly trying to talk myself out of acquiring more. this week i had to tell myself not to start learning the fiddle. but i want to play every single musical instrument i can get my hands on, more or less.
67. good luck charms?
interesting question! i feel like i don't often pick things up as good luck charms, necessarily, but i do like having trinkets from my friends & family around. i've got, like, three different keychains from my friends all on one keyring, which means 1) it's easy to find my keys 2) when i grab my keys & i'm reminded of the power of friendship (tm). and that's always nice!

In the beginning, I was a reader.
Actually, I was a listener to stories my parents read to me. I was also a listener to Disney records my parents would play for me. The one I remember most? 101 Dalmatians.
I've still got Cruella's voice in my head from that record.
Reading's a thing that happened in grade school. In class, of course, but also selections from those Scholastic catalogs our teachers would hand out. I remember the first two books I ordered were ghost story collections. Then, later on, I got into DC's horror comics that I'd buy down at the local 7-11. In 1977, I caught Starlog issue 6 out of the corner of my eye at the local grocery store. I bought it and kept buying each new issue.
So.
I was a listener in the beginning who eventually became an avid reader as well.
In third grade, our teacher, Mrs. Lohse, gave us opportunities to write our own "books". We'd write a story, turn it in, after which it was typed up by a parent who left room for pictures on some of the pages. We'd then add a thin cardboard cover to those pages, title and illustrate the cover, add illustrations where there was room on the typed pages, staple down the middle three times, fold the pages and cover right over the stapes and voila!
A book.
I was absolutely hooked.
And so I became a writer, too. I don't remember much more writing in grade school but I do remember analyzing stories like "The Price of the Head" in Mr. Allen's Language Arts class, the first time I remember discussing the craft of writing. Then Mr. Hodges in High School, one of two Creative Writing classes I took in High School with more writing analysis like Contemporary Lit in college as well as more creative writing. And then more in-depth analyses on books like Nancy Freedman's "Joshua, Son of None" and Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein". And then a coupla plays, high school satires about our class which my friends read at lunch.
I got all the laughs I was going for. Which only got me more hooked.
Then in college I picked up more game in Copywriting and Advertising Campaigns while pursuing my university major. The two classes between them involved a combination of persuasive writing and creative writing.
Okay now rewind a bunch. Because I was also a musician. Or, at least, my parents signed me up for piano lessons when I was in grade school. I remember basic music classes in school, by the way, rudimentary music theory (Tah, Tah, Tee-Tee, Tah) and actual play performances. The top two plays that come to mind are a big deal lead role in a play put on by my Boy Scouts troop at my grade school... and The Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol.
My parents made sure I rehearsed. Know what I mean? They would record the entire play except for my lines so, as I followed along listening, they would pause the recording so that I could say my line for that moment, and then un-pause it until my next line. In the Boy Scouts play, I had a ton of lines so it was pretty easy to know where they went.
I still remember how excited our den mother was at my performance. Either because I the best actor ever, or...
Her expectations weren't super high to begin with.
Either way, that kind of excitement over something I'd done was addicting.
Definitely memorable.
Somewhere in there, I also joined the boy choir at church that later turned into being a member of the adult church choir. So yeah. Music music music. Choir choir choir. Rehearse rehearse rehearse. Perform perform perform.
All these activities continued through Jr. High and High School in different variations. The music. The singing. The musicals. And then around Junior or Senior year in high school, my parents helped me buy a basic synthesizer. Shortly after, I saved up and bought another one that could do more. And then not long after that my parents gave me a multitrack cassette recorder for Christmas. A friend of mine who was a guitar player (relentlessly practicing Pete Townshend's guitar parts from classic Who songs, mostly "Pinball Wizard") jumped right into the opportunity and we started writing and recording songs. And then later I'd rent more advanced synths from American Music in order to write and record even more complex songs. Even later still, a friend of ours who was a drummer with his own kit and his own backlog of songs joined in.
The writing and recording continued through college where I took to a major in Advertising with the intent of starting a career in that endeavor within the local advertising community at an ad agency. Not long after I graduated, though, I realized I didn't want a career in advertising.
Whoops.
Later that same year, I caught a flyer in the mail about The Art Institute of Seattle, went to their open house, and was into my first quarter of the Music & Video Business program that December.
Around that same time, my Advertising Campaigns professor hooked me up with his contact at Instructional Media Services on campus that started me working as a cable channel operator and turned into a position on the production crew at IMS.
At The Art Institute, I picked up the basics of editing which was fortunate because I also picked up an opportunity to be an assistant editor for one of the producers at IMS who was starting his own production company to produce travel shows for public television. It's for that company that I later became an editor and then much later a composer and then somewhere in there a pinch-hitter for motion graphic design.
Same deal at IMS that eventually became UW Video.
And also now on projects for which I do the one-man band thing in my home studio. Editing. Graphics/motion graphics. Music.
I'm still an avid reader, by the way. And I'm still an even more avid writer.
It's how I process my thoughts across a number of arenas personal, professional, and a few things on the outside.
All of that experience, by the way, centered me in a particular way: music. That and writing were my thing. Therefore musicians and writers were my people. Which was fortunate because in my career path, writers were also most often producers in need of editors. So it was helpful to share some of the same headspace. And musicians,well...
A lot of people in my life are musicians in some way. Which is how it was in school. Most of my friends were in choir. So music's how I identified. Music's how I thought of myself. It was the context in which I thought of myself.
It's the way I engaged the world.
So.
The other day I was in a conversation about school districts, budget cuts, fine arts and performing arts. We were discussing how the arts in general are understood to be elective, accessories if you will, to serious education. And how the one school district was down to one full-time music teacher.
One.
Which tells you just where the school district's cutting back.
It also brought to mind everything I wrote about just now. It brought to mind the question of what my life would be if I didn't have that thread of music classes and opportunities running through my education. If I didn't have an environment of creativity in which to engage the world in the way I'm wired to engage the world.
I was definitely ADHD boy in school. "Hyperactive" was another word for it. As was "distractible". "High energy" would be a very nice way to put it. "Verbal" would be another.
Of course "talks in class" is how it was typically phrased on my report card. And not in a good way.
Definitely definitely definitely I wasn't for every teacher going back to first grade. Not every teacher could handle me. I got in trouble a bunch. My parents got notes a bunch. I was graded down because of my "citizenship". And a number of teachers yelled.
However.
There were other teachers, Thank God, who could or knew just how to manage me. My guess is that they were either wired similarly or simply knew what they were doing. Of course the ones who contributed the most to who I am were language and literature teachers and music teachers who also consistently modeled a professionalism I didn't recognize until later.
It's not nothing, is what I'm trying to say, the Arts.
They're defining.
They take you places. They connect you to certain people immediately.
And yeah.
You can build your entire life on them.

Interview with Channelers (December 2021)
Steve Targo, of Nimbudala, interviewed Sean Conrad about his latest Channelers albums on Inner Islands. The interview was conducted in a Q&A format over email.
1. What made you decide to pick up the guitar again? Was it the desire to learn finger picking?
It was really a matter of working with my limitations at the time. At the time I had a rehearsal space that I could get loud in (where I recorded a lot of Isles Beyond), but it was shut down because of the lockdown. And my apartment is a very small one bedroom that I share with my partner, Rosa, so it’s usually a bit of a hassle to set up my gear and then tear it down every time I want to play. So acoustic guitar is pretty much the only instrument that’s compact enough to leave out, that I can casually just pick up and play for a little bit. I was inspired to try fingerpicking with my whole right hand (as opposed to the two-finger method I used to employ) while reading the book Dazzling Stranger, about Bert Jansch and the ‘60s folk revival. More fingers means more possibilities!
2. How come you stopped playing for a while? It seems that guitar was prominent in your early music as Ashan & gkfoes vjgoaf.
I kind of phased out of playing as much guitar around 2013 when I got my dulcimer. That really satisfied a lot of my acoustic desires and was a new sound to play with. I also got much more into making electronic music. At this point I’m less interested in electronic pursuits and just want to play tactile instruments.
3. Despite the gentle, soothing nature of Another Entrance, you sound re-invigorated in your playing. Was it because of the guitar or was it more from being inspired by 60s British folk music?
It’s probably a combination of things. I’ve been listening to a lot less atmospheric and ambient music and more to folk, rock, pop, and other more attention-centric musics. Also, I composed the majority of the pieces on AE before recording them (except the two piano pieces) and spent a long time practicing them. I feel like I was able to bring a lot more energy and confidence to the performances when it came time to lay them down on tape.
4. What is it about that scene, that music, that inspired you?
I love that so much of that music has these threads which trace back into antiquity. There is such a rich heritage to that folk music. It has always been in flux: people changing lyrics, changing tunes, and passing those along (most orally/aurally) for generations. It’s constantly in evolution and there is no such thing as a definitive version of any of those pieces. When people started collecting those songs in the late 1800s and writing them down and recording them on wax cylinders and such, people were in a preservationist mindset. Those tunes kind of stagnated for decades and decades and in the 1960s musicians were decidedly much more free with their interpretations of that work and breathed a new life into it and wrote new music in the spirit of those tunes. I think it’s that new breath in confluence with a lot of other things that were happening at the time.
5. Really, you released two Channelers albums on 10/22. Were the songs on Messages From One of Deeper Within recorded the same time as those on Another Entrance? How did you decide which song appeared on which album?
Side A of “Messages” was recorded at the same time. Side B is a track from the “Isles Beyond” sessions and a track from the “Faces of Love” sessions. I made a lot of different playlists for possible versions of AE, which all told different narratives. The narrative I went with was the one that I felt most dialogued with the album cover. There were a lot of other pieces from those sessions still to choose from for “Messages” and I just picked tracks that were mostly focused on the performance of a solo instrument.
6. You have developed a unique & captivating style in your role as artist. How do you create the illustrations you use for album art? Is it 100% digital? If so, why & what program(s) do you use?
I use Adobe Photoshop and sometimes Illustrator. Yeah, it’s all digital. My laptop has a touchscreen, so I’m also able to use a stylus for some human touch.
7. What projects are you working on now?
I’m wrapping up a collaborative album with Rosa. Hopefully it will be out early next year! I’m finishing another collaboration with Matt and Ash from Flower Room. And I’m always working on new material with Michael Henning for our Skyminds project. We get together every week and work on tracks. We have about six hours of unreleased material at the moment and we’re hoping to release some of it soon! I’m also beginning to work on another Channelers album.
8. Let’s talk about Inner Islands, which is 11 years old now! What keeps you going in your role as head of the label? What does the future hold for Inner Islands?
It’s kinda wild how long it’s been going now! And I’ve been running it for 8 of those years, which sounds way longer than it’s felt. I feel like Inner Islands is my musical home; it’s this sacred and deeply comfortable space for me. And what Inner Islands “is” is both this unchanging thing, this field that Braden established at the outset, and yet the manifestations of that are always changing and developing. I get a lot of joy out of teasing out that thread! The future holds a further unraveling of that musical journey.
9. What inspires you right now?
Moving my body every day! I’ve also seen a lot of heart-centric TV shows this year, which has been enlivening: Star Trek (Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager), Ted Lasso, and Pose, among others. Musically, I just went through a deep phase with King Crimson and related projects. The McDonald and Giles album was a revelation. My friend, Noah Klein, has also been a part of setting up the FLOATING outdoor show series in Los Angeles and I got to play and attend a couple of those in October. They were fantastic! I hope to see more music outdoors soon.
10. What words of wisdom do you like to recall in times of need?
I am the creator of my own experience. I always find that to be an empowering idea.
Channelers is the work of Sean Conrad. He recently released Another Entrance and Messages From One of Deeper Within on Inner Islands on October 22nd on vinyl, cassette, and digital formats. The albums are available from our Bandcamp page.

Could you do the dream smp (separately) realizing that their child is just really smart? It could be like they're a prodigy in a particular subject or they're just really smart in general. Can you also include these characters: (and any more you want to add) Wilbur, Dream, Tommy, Eret, Techno, and Ranboo. Ty in advance if you decide to do this!
Smartest in the Room
Pairings: Parental! Wilbur, Dream, Tommy, Eret, Technoblade, and Ranboo x F! Child! Reader
Warnings: None :)
A/N: (F/L) means the first letter of your first name.
---------------------------
Eret
(Y/N) was young when she started studying the politics of the SMP and L'Manberg.
Naturally, she picked up on it with ease and rather mature with issues that arose.
Eret was very proud of her when she asked to sit and listen to the meetings to understand them even better.
There had even been a few times that (Y/N) could hold her own in a debate despite being ten years old.
"That does not justify your acts in this courtroom!" (Y/N) argued with Big Law, Eret sweating slightly as he had taken her to a case going on today for broken laws in L'Manberg.
"It does I'm a lawyer! You shouldn't even be here!"
"Name a law I don't know!" (Y/N) challenged.
---
"Yes, he did take your things first." (Y/N) stuck out her tongue slightly trying to balance in heels, Tommy crossing his arms as he watched her. "But you stealing in a return is still a wrong action and punishable. It will simply mean nobody wins."
Eret was very proud to see his little girl prosper and knew she'd only excel further when he came into her room to find her writing in a book.
"What are you doing princess?"
She looked up and smiled, showing him the book. "My policies when I can finally run for president."
Yeah, he was very proud of his kid. He wouldn't be surprised when she finally would manage to become president of L'Manberg.
---------------------------
Dream
(Y/N) was all-around smart and Dream knew it every day.
She could come up with excellent tactics and be quick to change them if need be when she played Manhunt with Dream, Sapnap, and George.
She could read some pretty advanced books and understand them with little difficulty.
She also learned how to be a pretty good liar with the help of her friends but Dream didn't know that one.
She learned a lot of different things and worked to master them every day.
Though, the thing she took the most pride in was her swordsmanship. She wanted to be just her father.
George screamed as he fell and (Y/N) pointed her sword tip to his neck, taking quick breaths. Sapnap laughed at George as (Y/N) grinned taking the sword away and helping George up. As she did, she looked up at the sound of clapping, grinning wider as she saw Dream, home early.
"You're pretty good, sweetheart. Why don't we go against each other?" Dream offered to her.
Dream was very proud to see her hold her own for a while against him and knew she'd one day become the master.
---------------------------
Ranboo
It was a surprise to Ranboo when (Y/N) excelled in reading and writing.
She could read rather fast and could comprehend what she just read.
Her calligraphy was also rather elegant for someone so young as she often wanted to write down what happened, just like Ranboo.
"You don't need to write everything down little enderman. You remember everything." Ranboo told her as they were sitting and she was writing in her own journal.
"I know, but I want my own memory book to make sure I never forget, just like you." (Y/N) smiled and Ranbo smiled as well, gently ruffling her hair.
Ranboo didn't know about her excellent reading until Phil called him over to Techno's where Phil was currently babysitting her.
"So, Techno gave her a book." Phil started off and Ranboo nodded, frowning slightly confused.
What was so bad about a book?
"...It was the Art of War and she read all of it and Techno quizzed her on it and she got every question correct."
"WHAT?!" Ranboo exclaimed.
"Techno's making her read Greek myths now."
"Techno!" Ranboo went to go talk to the other man.
Techno had another friend at least.
---------------------------
Technoblade
Many thought that Techno's child would be the most skilled swordsman in the land.
And they'd be correct but she didn't show it off. Instead, she became just as knowledgeable as her father, with his help.
She knew just as much about things from Greek myths to The Art of War as Technoblade.
Tommy would make fun of her for being a nerd occasionally but would quickly take it back when Techno would glare over her head at him.
She wasn't as much of a fighter like Techno, even though she was practically a master at most weapons other than axes but Techno was fine to encourage her with her smarts instead.
"Why doesn't she fight? She's a Blade! You call her little blade!" Tommy questioned his brother as (Y/N) was across the room reading next to Steve.
"She doesn't need to, I got that covered," Techno told him.
---------------------------
Tommy
A lot of people are quick to dismiss (Y/N) to be just like Tommy but people underestimate both of them.
She was rather well-rounded. With the help of her father, Tubbo, and Wilbur, she was rather smart and a pretty damn good fighter.
It tended to frustrate Tommy that many people would simply brush off her smarts and he would furiously call them back.
"Hey, shithead! Listen to what my amazing kid has to say!" He called to Fundy and (Y/N) grinned.
Tommy was very proud of her and also tended to show off her smarts to others. Though she tended to act just like Tommy.
She kept what she could really do away until she actually needed to do it.
"How the hell do we do this puzzle?" Tubbo motioned to the floor in front of them as Tommy and (Y/N) were exploring temples with him.
"That's easy, like this." (Y/N) simply walked over and completed the puzzle, like it was nothing. "Done!"
"Good job little (F/L)!" Tommy grinned.
---------------------------
Wilbur
Wilbur taught (Y/N) all about music from the moment she could start remembering. He took great pride in it.
He was very delighted when she started to pick up on things and gladly taught her more when she showed actual interest in it.
He taught her to play guitar and piano and even helped her practice her vocals. She picked up on all of it so quick and he was so delighted to share his art with her.
She wasn't a master yet, but Wilbur knew his little star would be one, one day.
Wilbur hummed as he strummed his guitar, staring at his journal with lyrics inside. What could the second verse be?
"Are we playing today?" (Y/N) peeked in.
Wilbur smiled. "We can be if you want. I'm working on a new song, like to hear it?"
She nodded eagerly as she sat in front of him. He strummed before singing for her.
"I heard there was a special place, where men could go emancipate. The brutality and tyranny of their rulers. Well, this place is real you needn’t fret, with Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo, (Y/N), fuck Eret. It's a very big and not blown up L’Manberg. My L'Manberg. My L'Manberg. My L'Manberg. My L'Manberg."
(Y/N) grinned widely as Wilbur sang before he stopped and looked at her.
"Sound good?" He asked.
"Wonderful! Is there more?"
"I need to write more little star." He chuckled. "I'm having trouble thinking up a second verse."
"Well, it's about L'Manberg, right? What...what about, for freedom and for liberty, our nation sought to build on these." She sang the words similar to how he had been singing earlier.
He grinned brightly. "I love it."
His little star was most certainly going to be talented.

General Soul Eater HCs please
Soul Eater: General headcanons
Death the Kid:
He’s an art critic
Hear me out
He is obsessed with symmetry, and loves the beauty in it
So when he sees something non-symmetrical, especially in art, he can’t help but to critique it
May go as far as to send a personal letter to the artist (If they’re alive) about how offensive it is that they created something so asymmetrical
If he can’t send a letter to the artist, he’ll send one to the owner/museum and request it be taken down, while listing reasons why it’s horrible.
Anything he writes has an even amount of letters and words
Be that his test answers
Essays
Letters
Diary entry
Speaking of diary entries, he definitely has one
But it’s actually just a catalogue of symmetrical things he’s seen
He puts photos into it and writes about how beautiful it was to see
He doesn’t care what it is much, just that it was beautiful
Meaning he takes photos of people too
Which can be unnerving at times
He’s probably taken a photography class before, or at the very least is self taught
Literally has a photo album of things he views are beautiful, but non symmetrical and he would die if anyone found it
Like a particular sunset with uneven hills
Or a flower with one too many petals
Definitely has an 8 ball, not a magic one, just an 8 ball, it’s placed on a velvet pillow in his room and he frequently polishes it
Elizabeth Thompson:
Makes several backup plans as a way to cope
Especially after dealing with an experience with a ghost
She has notebooks full of them, labeled and detailed
At one point she started putting them in alphabetical order but stopped immediately when she realized Kid’s perfectionist habits were rubbing off on her
She practices acting in the mirror
Usually so she can charm a man into dating her
But also to con people
She used to be a “Street rat” and that thought of ending up on the streets again constantly plagues her mind
She takes full advantage of the “Rich life”
Shopping sprees
Quality makeup
Salons and spa days
The works
She lets Patty’s thought that she knows everything get to her head
The fact alone that her sister believes in her that much is enough to make her a bit egotistical
And Patty’s admiration for the girl makes it ten times worse
She literally doesn’t care if she ends up being wrong because she’ll just be right next time anyways
So stubborn in that aspect
Patricia Thompson:
She likes dark humor
You can’t convince me otherwise, you actually can’t, I have evidence
She made an origami Giraffe, and broke its neck
Laughed when Kid said he “wants to die”
She literally pokes him with a stick when he’s depressed
She likes dark humor, and probably looks up jokes to tell others just for kicks
She’s secretly sadistic, and likes scaring her sister and others
She may act naïve and innocent, but she is anything but
She definitely has, more than once, banged on Liz’s door at 3AM just to hear her sister squeal like a little girl
Honestly, she probably purposefully gets their pose wrong, just to see her sisters annoyance and laugh when Kid gets smacked
She likes origami
Probably first got into it because of the paper ninja stars
Then just found it relaxing
She most likely makes the ninja stars mostly, and keeps a box of her origami creations somewhere
Has in the past, and will not hesitate to do so again, beat someone up for kicks or just to destress
Patty has two faces, the childlike innocent one, and the insane anger one
So it’s not too far fetched to say that she’ll hide her anger till she can corner someone alone and beat them up
Or that she gets bored and decides to do so
I wouldn’t be too surprised if her sister occasionally joined as well
Maka Albarn:
She’s a Harry Potter nerd and you can’t convince me otherwise
She loves the concept of magic
Loves the dynamic between Ron and Hermione, though feels a bit of Deja vu thinking about it
Probably used to write fanfiction, but in a way that made it seem like it was actually part of the story
She will hit you if you mention it
Definitely the type to compare books to their movie counterparts
Not in like, a critic way, but she will definitely rant about the differences, or how a character looks exactly like she imagined, or if they didn’t put in a particular scene she liked in the book
Forces Soul into movie nights, but it’s only the movie counterparts to her books
I can see her forcing everyone into a group study session
Be super organized about it, and setting it up in a way so that no one can refuse
She probably has specific ways for everyone to study
Like having Black☆Star work out while studying so he retains the knowledge better
Or setting up the session in a symmetrical way so Kid doesn’t freak out about it
She writes letters to her mom, as a coping mechanism for when her emotions get to be a little too much
Like when she’s having a bad day
Or if she’s particularly peeved at something Soul did
She writes a lot more letters when it comes around the time of her mom's birthday or death anniversary
She likes the thought of an old timey romance, and often listens to songs that give off that kind of feel
She really likes “It’s Been a Long, Long Time”, it’s one of her favorites
She also likes the old Disney songs, like “Once Upon a Dream” and “So This Is Love”
She would be so embarrassed if anyone found out though, especially if it was her dad or Soul
She isn’t quite sure why she’s so worried about Soul finding out though
Speaking of, she half realizes, half doesn’t with anyone's romantic feelings, including her own
She’ll fantasize about getting a love letter or having someone present her with a bouquet of roses
But if it actually happens she’s like “Oh, thanks friend!”
She knows the behaviors, she just can’t put two and two together
They would have to be extremely blunt, no over dramatic confession, just “I’m in love with you and want to be romantically involved with you”
She reads dictionaries for fun
She really likes to read out of date dictionaries, just to see what words and slang existed back then
She also highlights words she likes and uses them frequently on accident
She has most definitely yelled “I have cupid’s kettlebells*! I’m not flat!” at Soul before
Soul Evans:
Bottles. Up. His. Emotions.
He’s influenced by “toxic masculinity” and fully believes that being vulnerable in a serious way “isn’t cool”
He will bottle everything up so deep down inside that it seems impossible for it to surface
Feelings of inferiority to others? Bottled
Want to cry or break down? Nope, gotta be cool
Started crying in front of someone and can’t stop? He’s not crying, you’re clearly blind
Speaking of crying, once he starts, and I mean genuinely starts, it’s so hard to get him to calm down, and even then the tears don’t stop
Sometimes he’ll start to freak out and send himself into a panic attack because the tears just won’t stop
He’s that influenced by the thought of being vulnerable
On a lighter note, he does adore playing the piano, but the only person he’ll play for is Maka
He swears it’s not favoritism, and it’s partially true, but favoritism does play a large role in it
He frequently drags Maka to his room to show her a new piece he put together
And if he notices her feeling a little down that day, he’ll start playing a song that he knows she likes
He definitely knows about her love for old timey romance songs and is very embarrassed to admit a lot of the pieces he constructs are based off of that
The walls are p a p e r t h i n , he can hear her music through the walls
He secretly finds it adorable when he catches her listening to it because she’ll be dancing around to it
He also frequently finds himself thinking about those moments
He’s the stereotype that parents tell little girls about, with how boys will bully their crush
He’s a lot more playful and easy going, but still teases Maka, so much
Unlike Maka, he’s fully aware of his feelings, and acknowledges them, but bottles it up, only letting himself entertain the thought every once in a while
He jabs at Maka’s lack of “Cupids Kettlebells” as a way to try and ensure she won’t fall for him, because he doesn’t know what he’ll do if she does
He reads the same dictionaries that Maka does, not for fun, but so he can know just what the actual h e l l she’s saying
More than once he’s had to look up a particular word or phrase online because he can’t find it in the dictionary
“What the hell? It’s an old Victorian saying!? Where does she keep finding this stuff!?”
Subconsciously, as time goes on, he starts using old phrases as well, he was so embarrassed the first time he got caught saying “Keep your idle daddles* off of her!” when defending someone from a perv.
Black☆Star:
Is so unbelievably selfish with food
It’s not even funny
He will stab someone if they reach for his food
He surprisingly eats healthy most of the time though?
Says something like “I have to otherwise I’ll never surpass the gods!”
The only person who could ever p o s s i b l y steal his food is Tsubaki, but even that’s pushing it
He has the weirdest dreams, and I mean weird
Dreams like being turned into a potato and being cooked, mashed, and devoured by Tsubaki herself
He didn’t talk to her for a week after that dream, and refused to eat potatoes for a full year because “You never know if it could be a person turned into a potato!”
He was also very offended when Tsubaki ate potatoes during that time period
He takes things very literally
Like up above, if someone does something in a dream, he acts like it was real
Or if someone makes a joke about fighting, he will drag them outside to fight
He’s secretly scared of Tsubaki
But it’s for literally the stupidest reason
And he fully believes that because of it she could fight god and win
She used to have a pet cockroach
One of the flying ones
And he is so unbelievably scared of them, because for some reason they just don’t die, and they have w i n g s
So the fact she owned one as a pet scares him so bad even though it was literally for only a week
He has a soft spot for children
He doesn’t really know why
He just does
Is secretly really good with kids
Literally the definition of dad material
He has his flaws but still
Little kids are the only people who could steal his food and get away with it
Every. Time. and it makes the others so mad
Tsubaki Nakatsukasa:
What can I say, she’s perfect
She probably receives love letters
Reads them over when she’s feeling sad
Likes to keep them in a shoebox she painted
She definitely paints to unwind and relax
Likes to go outside and paint the sunrise/sunset
Takes note of beautiful scenery so she can come back in her free time and paint it
She probably draws/sketches too
Carries a sketchbook with her
More than likely has drawn Black☆Star doing something
Like napping or training
She’d never show him though, too scared of inflating his ego or giving him the wrong idea
Stress bakes/cooks
We know she cooks
Liz took advantage of it and pretended Tsubaki’s cooking was her own
So we know she does
Sometimes painting/drawing doesn’t cut it
So she heads to the kitchen and bakes away her worries and unwinds
The main reason Tsubaki would possibly be spared from Black☆Star’s stabbing habit with food is because she cooks all the meals
She makes sure everyone is comfortable around her
She’ll go as far as to learn someone's customs and practice cooking their unique cuisine just to make sure that they feel comfortable and safe in her presence
She radiates mom friend energy
She’s perfect mom material, perfect wife material, perfect in general honestly
*Cupid's Kettlebells is a old term for a woman's bust
*Idle daddles is a old term for hands
I Hope you like these general headcanons for the main seven! You didn’t say which characters you’d like to see, so I played it safe by putting the main characters! Thank you for the ask!
