The second day in the car went well and Dragon is really enjoying life at Grandma’s house. He even met and is on somewhat peaceful terms with my mom’s dog.
Getting along with the resident cat is much harder, but he spends most of his time roaming outside, so Dragon can pretend he rules the house.
My mom free feeds, and Dragon was very interested in this all-you-can-eat crunchies concept.
(But then he had wild diarrhea, so the crunchies are now forbidden.)
He heard a cow moo and it sent him into a 10 min existential contemplation of the universe’s big questions, and he made this face the whole time:
Best of all, he is getting to explore the outdoors! This is his first time walking on grass or wood chips, and his first time seeing a river, which confused him almost as much as cow sounds. My mom happens to have a screened-in gazebo that makes a perfect catio. It also fills with bugs (yeah, it doesn’t work as intended) which makes it paradise as far as Dragon is concerned.
Emma and Anarcha playing!! (their new names now that I’ve officially adopted them)
my job where I adopted them from fired me for BS reasons (yiippee transphobia and worker exploitation) right after I adopted them, I have 1 more paycheck coming in but if anyone wants to tip me smth for their food & litter while I’m looking for new jobs that would be appreciated!
Oh to be a lazy cottage cat that sneaks off and secretly puts on little clothes and maybe a little hat and goes off to have little adventures or run little errands in town or have little tea parties with his other cat or animal friends and always return home in time to shed his secret little clothes and bathe in front of the fireplace
I bought a special heating blanket to help my old cat's arthritis, and I coated almost everything she routinely interacts with in catnip.
Instead of her using it, the younger cat, who is perfectly healthy, found the blanket, got high off his ass, and camped out on the blanket for the whole day, tasting colors and listening to flavors.
Saved this little guy from my 20 year old cat (who eats anything that moves, from bugs to geckos that find their way into the house) and my sister wanted people to know about its “cute little feet” so have a gecko with cute little feet
In regards to cat situation. I would not be worried about reintegration of the babies, they will figure it out pretty quickly. The kitten might have been doing a concern but could also be like hey dude check out this thing I just learned and then tried to pet their sibling. So long as there's no claws it's fine and just babyness. My best bet is to find local cat rescues/foster agencies that can either provide support or take them off your hands.
Thank you for the input! I really appreciate it. ❤️
There’s no claws, but there’s hissing and growling. They’re staying at opposite ends of the pet playpen and I’m hoping they warm up to each other.
It just sucks since I wanted to get all the babies in today, but I can’t if I need another space to reunite them all.
I am reaching out to the community at large for help. The shelters and rescues around here are already full. 😩
so cal had a little open sore on his butt, which is not a huge deal, it happens, i brought him to the vet and they said it was already healing up but it couldn't hurt to give him an antibiotics course for a week and keep him in a cone so he doesn't reopen it
Don’t give a fuck what people say or think. me and this kitten who’s been running around growling at every other cat and trying to eat computer wires all day against the world.
