Tumblr media
He doesn’t know what did it.
He doesn’t know which part of you started this… obsession.
Maybe it was your smile. Or your personality. How lively you were for being in the military. It was a cruel job and you still managed to be so happy.
Maybe it was just that you were not his normal type in women. A young virgin. Who despite being exposed to some of the toughest situations out there was still so innocent.
But something caused it, made him have that one dream. He was tucked away in his bed, sound asleep. He seen your face as he fell into a deeper sleep. You were laughing and smiling. Turning to him to acknowledge him as he walked into a room. Greeted him with a kiss.
Ghost woke in a hurry, where on earth it had come from. He doesn’t know. He had never had these feelings for you before this. They came out of nowhere. And it started fast. Like he got sucked into a black hole and could no longer figure a way out. He was gone- done for. Every second he spent around you after that, he dreaded. Because Ghost didn’t do this. He didn’t have feelings for people. But your smile. Your laugh and how it could pierce his ears from what felt like miles away. How when you spoke to him, like you were talking to a friend made his brain foggy as he watched your lips move. Lost in a daze. Most of the time you had to repeat yourself because he was so spaced out he heard none of it.
He knew he was in too deep when he started looking into you.
Finding all of your social media accounts. Coming across every single post you’d ever been featured or tagged in. He knew who your parents and grandparents were and how close you were with some. He even snuck into Price’s office once and stole any file that contained you. He knew everything there was to know about you, down to your shower routine at night.
Ghost knows he’s got to be sick for how obsessed he’d become but he just couldn’t help himself.
When he came to the conclusion that you must be a virgin, he was by your side always.
If anyone else found out that you were a virgin- it would be bad. Especially some of the men who they called enemies. They were cruel and dangerous to women. During any missions at all, Ghost was right with you.
When it started, you didn’t understand it. Why he was all over you all of a sudden but you didn’t mind. You liked Simon. If he wanted to be friends, that’s okay. You didn’t mind. It wasn’t until he was killing for you that he knew he had a problem.
When an enemy had put their hands on you, he was merciless. He could be brutal, violent. But never to you. Not ever. It ate him alive that he liked you so much and he couldn’t have you. You weren’t his. You didn’t have to listen to him, you didn’t have to consider what he said. You had no ties to him whatsoever and it drove him mad. Ghost was bothered deeply by his infatuation with you. You would never go for someone like him, not when he’s old enough to be your dad. Some nights, when it’s especially cold. He can barely stand it. He wants you close to him, by his side at all times. He wants you. He wants it all.
“Alright. let’s have a chat, shall we?” Captain Price’s voice snags Ghost out of his thoughts.
He’s sitting off to one side of the large oak table sat in the middle of the conference room. Everyone else is inside as well. You’re next to him because he chose to sit down next to you. “Obviously, we’re going to go on a break for a few weeks, I wanted you all home for a while to relax before we started up on these next few missions. If you didn’t want to go, I can still find you guys something to do on base. There will still be other commanding officers and some other new recruits keeping it up and running. If you wanted to stay on base I need to know by tomorrow.”
Ghost will always respect Price. Always.
“I’d like to stay on base, Captain.”
Ghost respected him, and right now he almost wanted to give the old man a kiss once you’ve spoken up.
“Okay, Y/N. Anyone else?”
“Me, always.” Ghost mumbles. “Right, obviously.” Captain Price nudges him. “Workaholic.” Price mumbles, making Simon smile underneath his balaclava.
Ghost doesn’t hear another word of the meeting. You don’t say anything else and that’s all he wanted to hear. Although he wondered why you were choosing to stay on base when you had a family.
Once the day came when everyone else left, Ghost was going to miss them. He always did during breaks. Especially on the few he’s been left alone. He missed Price’s lectures. Soaps banter, Gaz’s pranks. He missed them all, they were the only family he had of course. But he didn’t mind this time, not since you’d be around. You keep him company until they came back, if you liked it or not. Ghost was getting soft as he got older, he knew it. But he couldn’t stop it. He didn’t really want to anymore. He liked to be close with people even if he knew it would kill him if he lost any of them.
It takes a few days before Ghost finishes up what he usually does. Cleaning up his room, getting rid of some things. He likes to reset completely when he has the time. When he’s done, he finally decides to seek you out.
It seems as if you’re doing the same, your door is propped open and he walks right inside. “Hey.” You’re reaching for a book on a bookshelf. “Oh, hey Ghost.” You smile at him. You turn back to the bookshelf, turning back to him in a hurry. The book topples over onto you and you step away as the rest follow suit. He can’t help but laugh. “You’re.. not wearing a mask.” You blush. “No, I’m not.” He laughs. “You need help?”
“No I just didn’t expect you to come in here with your face out like that!” You laugh, picking up the books and setting them on your bed. “I mean.. I can put it back on.” He laughs. “No! No- I just. You caught me off guard that’s all.” You blush, avoiding his gaze as you stumble over his words. “You can’t walk in here practically naked, I mean you’re showing so much skin.” You joke. You can actually see his lips turn up in a smile and it makes your chest ache just how handsome he is. “Yeah, I know it’s a lot of handsome to just throw around like this.” He smirks, hearing you laugh. He loves it.
If he could only hear that for the rest of his life, he’d never complain again.
You roll your eyes.
“I see we had the same idea, bit of a reset.”
“Yeah, I just wanted it to all be set up and clean for when we go back out. Swear I’m still cleaning up sand from our trip to Iran.” You laugh. “Oh god me too.” Simon laughs. He sits down on the edge of your bed, watching you as you replace the books. He offers you help of course but you deny it. “I was wondering why you chose to stay, I thought you had mentioned visiting your parents?” Ghost doesn’t miss the way you stiffen.
“Uh.. well.” You turn to him. “It’s.. kind’ve… personal I guess.” You mumble. “Oh, you don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.” He looks up at you. “It’s just this.. family friend we have.” You start, looking at the cover of the book in your hands. “He’s been my dad’s friend since I was in my early teens.” Ghosts hair stands up, worried at where you’re going with this. You sit down at the small desk you have in your room. “He always acted really weird when I was around and when I was home last… he tried.” You pause. “He tried making a pass at me, and wouldn’t take no for an answer. It turned into this whole thing. My dad got involved and him and my mum didn’t believe me. They believed him. So yeah, they planned this big party for me to come back. But I found out they invited him so I lied and said I was stuck here. But.. I think you needed some company anyways.” You smile. You’re trying to make light of what you’ve just told him.
“I’m sorry to hear that. He didn’t touch you did he?”
Ghost knows he’ll track him down. Torture him for laying a finger on you.
“He tried.”
Ghost nods. “He left with a bloody nose.” You laugh. “You know, if he ever does anything to you. This entire base will have his head on a pike.” He looks up at you. The way he looks at you has chills rising on your body. He’s deadly serious. You smile. “I appreciate it, but I don’t plan on going back. Not when they sided with him so easily.” You laugh. “Ah, you get to missing them too much, just take me with you. I’ll be your body guard.” He laughs. Inside, Ghost is seething. How dare he. How dare he try to hurt you.
“I appreciate it, but I’m not putting you through that. They’re hard to get along with. Besides that if I brought him a guy twice my age I’d probably give my dad a heart attack.” Ghost laughs at this. “What the man doesn’t know won’t hurt him, right?” He winks, seeing the pink rise to your cheeks has you turning away from him.
“You’re funny.” You giggle.
———
For the next couple of weeks, you spend nearly every second of every day with Ghost. He helps you with your chores, you help him with his. You get done faster and get to spend even more time doing practically nothing together. You aid on a couple of spare missions, he shows you a little bit of mechanic work, he even rents a rental car in the town you’re in so that he could show you around. It’s by far some of the most fun you’ve ever had and you like being so close to Ghost. But there’s been something nagging at you in the back of your mind.
And that’s your growing feelings for him.
Your parents have nonstop harassed you to come home, even if it’s for a couple days. You ended up folding but the thought of leaving Ghost here alone drives you crazy. You never thought you’d be so close to the Lieutenant.
You’re sitting at the edge of your bed when he knocks at your door. Right about now, the two of you would be going down to have dinner. But this time, he shows up with trays in his hands. You smile as you open the door. “Mess hall is full, thought I’d bring you something before there’s nothing left.” He laughs. “Thanks Ghost.” You smile. “Is something going on?” He asks.
“Ah… I just.. thought I’d ask you something.” You say nervously. “What’s up?” He asks. “Well.. my parents have been nagging me to go home.” You sigh. He nods his head, sitting down at your desk. “And.. I told them I’d go home for just a couple days, no longer than a week.” You shrug. He nods his head. “Yeah? Are you going to be okay?”
“See that’s the thing. I.. was wondering.” You laugh. “If you’d go as like.. my.. I don’t know.” You pause. “Pretend boyfriend?” You laugh. He turns to you. “Yeah, no problem.” He looks up at you. “Wait really?” You ask.
“Course, not like I got anything better to do. Besides, if that bastard puts his hands on you it gives me an excuse to hurt him.” He shrugs. You laugh. “Hey. I really appreciate it. You have no idea.” You breathe out a sigh of relief. “My dad is probably going to give you a lot of grief for how old you are though.” Ghost laughs. “Love, I’m in the military. I’ll be just fine.” You smile. Thank god.
———
You sigh, which makes Ghost turn his head to you. “What’s going on?” He asks. He’s pulling into the driveway. “That’s.. his car.” You sigh. “Hey.” He places his hand on your thigh to reassure you. “He’s not going to do anything. I swear I won’t leave your side.” You smile. “Thank you Ghost.”
Captain Price was surprised to hear that the two of you had left together, but after speaking to Simon in private he understood why. Simon felt a little bad for spilling your business but he was your Captain after all. You still had another few weeks before you were due back anyways, you had time to kill. Ghost helps you unload your bags. Carrying them up to the front door with you. Once you reach the door, your mum opens it up.
She’s shocked to see that you aren’t alone.
“Hi Y/N!” She smiles. Bringing you into a hug. “Hey.” You mumble. “Who is your friend?” She asks. “Oh uh.. this is Simon.” You nod. Simon reached his hand out. You can tell your mum is slightly intimidated by the sheer size of him. She takes his hand anyways.
“My boyfriend.”
Your mums eyes nearly bulge out of her head when those words leave your lips but she smiles nonetheless. “It’s nice to meet you, Simon.” She stands to the side. Allowing the both of you inside. “Your dad and Mike are in the back.” She smiles. Ghost can see you go stiff.
So his name is Mike.
“Simon I can show you Y/N’s room. So that you can go see your dad.” She turns to you. “That’s alright, Y/N said she wanted to show me her old room.” He smiles, rejecting her offer. You mentally thanked him. “Oh alright than. Well. I’m just finishing up dinner.” She smiles. “You know where to find us.”
You nod your head, leading Simon up to your old bedroom. “You are literally a life saver Simon.” You mumble the moment the door is closed. He laughs. “So.. am I staying in here with you. They got any strict rules?” He laughs. “No weird rules but there’s only one bed.” You blush. “That’s alright. Just don’t be a blanket hog.” He nudges you. “Let’s go meet Mike.” He grasps your wrist, tugging you along. You groan out. “I know you wanna bite his head off Simon but you can’t.”
“Says who?”
You can’t help but laugh. “Definitely not me.” You mumble. You lead Simon out to the back door to the back yard where everyone now sits. He opens up the door for you, your mum notices how kind he is to you immediately. She didn’t say anything to your dad yet, unsure of how this would go. It’s quiet the moment the both of you move closer. “Uh.. hey honey.” your dad smiles. He’s skeptical. “Who’s this?” He stands up. Ghost sees the man that’s made you uncomfortable. Staring him down from the moment they lock eyes. Only looking away to shake your dad’s hand. “I’m Simon.” He smiles.
“My boyfriend.” You finish for him. Your dad nods. “Nice to meet you Simon. You seem a little old.”
“Ah, to be honest I thought Y/N was older, she’s pretty mature for her age.” He nods. “Yeah, that’s true. She’s a good girl. Smart too.”
“Absolutely.” Simon agrees. Simon can see that Mike is uncomfortable upon hearing that you’ve got a boyfriend. It only makes Simon want to tear him to shreds even more. “Oh uh. Simon. This is Mike, he’s a family friend.”
Simon is sure to grip his hand extra hard as he shakes it. Towering over him. He wants him to feel small.
“Let’s sit for dinner yeah?” Your mum breaks the awkward silence.
It was nice enough outside to be able to sit outside to eat. Everyone keeps asking about Simon. How the two of you met and how you came to be. Simon made up something cute on the spot and you couldn’t deny the butterflies it gave you. Simon is a great man, and it sucks that you have to fake this.
“Hey Y/N. You mind helping me get some stuff out of my car?” Mike speaks up.
“Nonsense, no reason she should do it when I’m around. I’ll help you.” Simon Stands up from the bench. Mike stiffens up. It’s clear that there he had an ulterior motive. He’ll most likely have to come up with something in the spot. Simon expects him to say “oh I forgot.”
He leads Simon to his trunk.
Simon quickly notices that it’s empty. “Oh shoot. Maybe I forgot to put it in here after all.” Simon lets out a laugh. “Yeah, I’m sure it’s not that you wanted to get Y/N alone so you could be a fucking creep toward her some more.”
“Excuse me?”
Simon grasps hold of the man, slamming into the back of the car. His hands gripping his lapels.
“She told me about you. And I’m not gonna let her be alone around you because you’re a fucking freak. If you even so much as look at her wrong I’ll bury you. And nobody will ever know where to find you. Do I make myself clear?”
Mike nods his head eagerly. “Yes I understand.” He flinches. “Great. Don’t come around again while she’s here. If I see your face again we’re going to have a problem. And if you tell her dad about this conversation we had, I’ll be sure to make the bullshit worth my while. Now go back in there and let them know you’ve forgotten about something and that you have to go.” He nods his head, and finally Simon lets him go. They both walk back into the house and Simon returns to his spot next to you. “I must’ve forgotten it at home, but my boss called me and asked me to come in for some last minute questions, so unfortunately I’ll have to get going.”
He looks pale. You know immediately something has happened. “Aw, sorry to hear that Mike. You have a good day alright?” Your mum smiles. Simon wants to scowl at her but knows he can’t.
It’s getting late. Both you and Simon are tired from the time zones and your parents are going to go play Bingo, Mike invited them out.
Unusual when you were home. Simon must’ve really scared him. “You two get some rest, we’ll be home later tonight.” Your mum smiles. Once they’ve left, the weight leaves your shoulders. “Fuck me, thank god.” You laugh. You start up the stairs and Simon follows you. “What did you say to him?”
“What are you talking about?” He asks. “Mike looked like he’d seen a damn ghost, you know exactly what I’m talking about. What’d you do to him?”
“Me? Say something to Mike? No way.” He smirks. He stretches back and his jacket raises and you can see his toned stomach, you have to turn away. Swallowing hard. “Liar.”
“I’m the Ghost he seen, darling. But you don’t have to worry about him anymore. Alright?” He forces you to look at him. Nodding your head. “Thank you Simon.”
“Nothing to it sweetheart.” He laughs. “Your parents probably think you’re going through a crisis. Did you see the way they looked at me all day?”
“Yeah. It’s just because you’re older.” You giggle, laying down on the bed. Simon throws himself down beside you. “First guy I’ve ever brought home and you’re almost as old as my dad.” You laugh. You freeze up as the words leave your mouth. “I- I mean-“
“No worries, your secret is safe with me.” He turns to look at you. “What?”
Simon chuckles. “I know that you’re a virgin Y/N.” You can feel your blood run cold. “What? How do you know that?”
Ghost laughs. “I can just tell.” You look down, blushing.
“Hey. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.” He rolls onto his side, resting on his hand. “It’s actually kind’ve impressive. As pretty as you are I’m surprised nobody has scooped you up and married you yet.” He laughs.
“You think I’m pretty?” You look up at him.
He laughs. “Of course I do. What do you mean?”
“I don’t know.. I guess I just never thought that much into it. I didn’t think I was that pretty.”
“So clearly you’ve never looked to a mirror.” He rolls his eyes. “Tough talk coming from you. I had no idea how handsome you were until you surprised me without a mask on.” You roll your eyes. “Oh? Handsome? Don’t let your panties get too wet.” he winks. Crimson creeps up your cheeks and you shake your head at him. “Shut up. You’re so full of yourself.” You roll your eyes. He laughs. “I’m kidding.”
Once the conversation has died down, you’ve nuzzled closer to him unintentionally.
“Y/N.” He speaks up out of the blue.
“Yeah?” You look at him. “There’s a way to make this easier yknow.”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean.. we’re faking it. Right?”
“Yeah?”
“What if we didn’t?”
You sit up, looking at him in confusion. The way your hair falls perfectly as you look at him, so beautiful when you’re confused. “I don’t think I understand.” You laugh. “What if we didn’t fake it?”
“Are.. are you saying that-“
“I want you to be my girlfriend.”
You didn’t understand metaphors in person until those words left his lips and the earth stopped spinning. It feels like your blood freezes over in your veins. “I-“ you freeze up. He sits up. Taking your hand in his. “I know I’m throwing a lot at you right now. But I’ve felt this way about you for some time. I mean you had to have noticed me coming around you more right?”
“I.. I guess so. I just thought it was because… well I don’t know.” You blush, looking down. “I know a little bit more about you than I should.. and I know it’s wrong of me. You’re so young and I can’t ask you to give up your life for me.” He breathes. “How?”
“I did a little snooping. Through your social media. And.. your file.”
“My file? Like the one in our Captain’s office?”
He shrugs.
Heat pools between your legs, you’ve never been so attracted to anyone in your entire life. “You.. stole files to get to know me?” You look up at him. “Well when you put it that way it sounds like I’m a creep.”
“You are a creep. If you wanted to know you could’ve asked me.” You smirk. You’re clearly poking fun at him. “Yeah, doesn’t take a genius to see how perfectly innocent you are. You n your perfect unfucked pussy.”
Your mouth drops open and you shove him back. “I’m kidding- I’m kidding.” He laughs. “Watch your mouth, Riley. I might be a girl but I’ll still kick your ass.”
“I believe it. I’ll be on my best behavior.” He laughs.
“So what do you say?”
“You really want me to be your girlfriend?” You ask. He nods. “You’re not just saying that?”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re not going to have sex with me and than dump me are you?”
He looks stunned by your question. “I might be an asshole but jeez. Have some faith in me.” He mumbles.
“Fine.” You laugh. “Yeah, I’ll be your girlfriend.”
“Good, god I’ve been waiting for this.” He sits up, pressing his lips to yours immediately.
He pulls you back beside him, his lips not moving from yours until he feels he’s had enough. He pulls you closer into his side, tugging the blanket up over the both of you.
Simon almost never sleeps well. He spends most of his time awake, seeing nothing but darkness. But with the bedside lamp on, he can see you clearly. And he thinks you’re even more beautiful asleep.
He knows how stressful this has been for you. You never stopped tapping your foot once you left the airport. You never noticed him making an attempt to soothe you. Holding it still so that you would relax a little more. You briefly feel his fingertips gliding through your hair. You’re peaceful when you’re asleep. Nothing bad. You’re safe here, so long as Simon is around.
He only hopes you’ll want him around forever.
———
“Honey… is everything okay?” Your mum asks. Simon is still asleep, it’s early. You’re sitting down across from her at your table.
“What? Why?”
“Because.. Simon is so much older than you honey. You.. you don’t really expect this to go anywhere do you?”
You pause, looking up at her. “Excuse me?” You cross your arms. “Y/N… I’m not trying to be mean okay. It’s just.. men like Simon don’t want a relationship. They just want-“
You raise your hand up, stopping her.
“Don’t you dare categorize Simon.”
She sighs. “Y/N. You know that’s not what I mean. I just mean that men like Simon only have one thing on their mind.”
“Yeah? And that is?”
“You know exactly what I mean Y/N.”
“Sex? You think he’s only with me for sex?”
“Y/N… lower your voice.” She seethes.
“Yeah well if he only wanted me for sex he’d be long gone by now.” Her eyes widen.
“You’ve already slept with him? How long have you been together?”
“Couple weeks.” You shrug. She shakes her head. “I thought we raised you better than this.” You freeze, looking up at her and laughing. “I don’t even want to hear any of that considering you wouldn’t even side with your own daughter after Mike made a pass at me.”
“Not this again Y/N.”
“Yeah, not anymore. Because if he touches me again Simon is going to break his hand.”
She shakes her head. “What has gotten into you?”
“I’m not a kid anymore. I can make my own decisions. I mean for christ’s sake, I kill people for a living.” You scoff. “And for the record. Simon isn’t like other guys. I’ve watched him kill people for trying to hurt me.” You laugh, standing up. “I think we’ll probably be heading out first thing in the morning, this was clearly a mistake.” You make your way upstairs. “Maybe we won’t be here when you change your mind, when he hurts you.”
“You wouldn’t be there anyways.” You roll your eyes. You hear her leave through the front door. Her car starting.
You make your way upstairs. Simon sitting at the edge of the bed. “You okay?”
“Yeah. I’m fine. Did you hear that?”
Simon nods his head. “I’m sorry Y/N.” He breathes. “Mike is a fucking creep and they’re fucked up for not believing you.”
“What? No. That’s- no.” You laugh. “I could care less about them believing me about Mike. It’s her shit talking you that drives me crazy. You’ve always been good to me and that’s wrong of her to say.”
Simon laughs. “I don’t exactly have the best rep Y/N. You should’ve known that before you started dating me.”
You turn to look at him, and the look in your eyes has his smile fading. “I… I’m sorry.” He scratches the back of his head nervously.
“Don’t be.” You mumble the words under your breath. “Are you okay? I didn’t mean to offend you-“ you start toward him, kissing him hard. You push him back into the bed. “Woah- Y/N.” He pushes you up. “What are you doing?” He breathes. A gasp leaving his lips when you climb on top of him to straddle him. “Shit.” He grits his teeth. “Hey- listen. You aren’t thinking straight.” You look up at him, eyes dripping lust. “I’m thinking just fine.”
He grits his teeth as you rock your hips down into him. He quickly flips you over. “Y/N. You’re not ready for this.”
“Simon.” You’re breathless as you look up at him. “I don’t think I’ve ever been more ready for this, to be honest.”
He stares down at you. God he wants this, of course he does. But he doesn’t want to take advantage of you. That’s not him. He lowers himself down again, locking his lips with yours. Your heart is thumping in your chest and he can hear it. “Is this really where you want to do this?” He pulls away. You look around. Biting back a smirk. “I’ll take that as a yeah.” He shakes his head, standing up. The door doesn’t have a lock, so he puts a chair up in front of it. When he turns back you’ve already shed your shirt, and you’re working on your pants. He’s still wearing sweatpants.
“I don’t have anything..” he sighs. “It’s okay.” You nod.
He pushes you back, moving himself between your legs. “You trust me?” He asks. You nod your head. Looking up at him. “M’gonna try not to hurt you.” He breathes. “I want you to know that I’d never take advantage of you. If you don’t like anything at all, you tell me.” He presses his forehead to yours. “I know.”
He slides down the soft pajama pants you’ve got on. He tried so hard not to smother you the night before. He wants it all with you but knows not to move too fast, he doesn’t want to scare you off. He kisses you, moving lower down your body. Scattering kisses over your soft skin. Hearing you whine out as he moves down your chest. Over your stomach and onto your thighs. You lift your head, looking him in the eyes as he glides his tongue through your folds for the first time. The first time you’ve ever been touched by a man. Your eyes grow heavy, and you gasp. He sucks at your clit and watches you squirm as he tongues your clit. You try to clamp your thighs shut but he forces them open. Wanting you to get used to him touching you, relax you a little bit. He’s going to need you relaxed for when he enters you for the first time. He keeps it up for a few minutes until your thighs are shivering. You’re right on the edge but he doesn’t want to overwhelm you.
Pulling away just as he’s got you to the edge. Hearing you whine out.
You’re already sweaty and your legs are jello.
“Relax. You’re ready for me sweetheart.” He moves himself between your legs, kissing back up your stomach and chest. “You are so beautiful like this. So beautiful.” He shakes his head. “I’m gonna fuck you now. Do you think you can handle it?” He asks. “Yes.” You answer fast. He pushes his sweats down to his mid thigh.
Just then, you hear the door close downstairs. “Shh. It’s alright.” He spits in his hand, gliding it over his cock. Slicking himself up as much as he can. Not wanting to hurt you any more than he has to. He holds your thighs open. Lining himself up with your entrance. He starts to slip between the folds of your pussy, your mouth popping open. He knows you’re about to cry out, clamping a hand over your mouth and burying himself the rest of the way inside of you. Sealing the deal.
This isn’t just casual anymore. You’re his now.
He lowers himself down. Still halted.
“You belong to me.”
You cry into his hand but he muffles it. He slides himself out of you and rocks his hips back into you. Feeling the wetness of your tears on his hand. “My god you are tight.” He breathes. Clenching his eyes shut. He rocks into you at a steady pace. A knock at the door has you going stiff and he rests his hand on your stomach. The other around your mouth still. He draws his hand away from your stomach, pressing his index finger over his lips. Shushing you.
“Y/N. We need to talk.”
It’s your dad.
Simon slowly draws his hand away from your mouth. Making sure you’ll be quiet. But he doesn’t stop his thrusts.
“Okay- I’ll be down in a minute.”
“Mike is here.”
Simon grits his teeth, shaking his head. “I said I’ll be down in a minute.”
Your dad sighs at the other end of the door. His footsteps disappearing down the stairs.
“Focus on me. M’gonna make you feel good baby.” He breathes.
He adjusts himself to be angled just right. Holding you still as he starts to rock himself into that one spot. Your mouth falls open the first time he brushes up against it. That spongy spot that’s so sensitive. “Cover your mouth darling. S’alright. Just relax.” He’s whispering. His voice so low you can barely hear it. You clamp your own hand on your mouth as he holds your hips steady, rocking into you. You’re barely keeping it together and that’s what he wants. He wants you to fall apart. He wants you on him. Clamping down around him. He wants to draw you in closer. You’re his and he wants to show you that. He holds you steady, keeping the same pace. He wants to be more rough but knows you aren’t quite ready for that. He moves your hand away from your mouth to kiss you. His lips move against yours sloppily and you notice his thrusts are a little sloppy as well. He’s getting close, but so are you. The unfamiliar feelings of a knot builds in your lower belly.
His teeth latch onto your bottom lip. Pulling it between his teeth and sucking at it. Your whines egg him on. Pulling him into you. He’s addicted.
“Simon… I’m really close.” You whine. Your voice is low and he knows nobody can hear you. Thank god, they don’t deserve to hear such angelic noises. You’re good. You’re the perfect amount of good Simon needs in his dark life. You make him better. His cock throbs hard inside of you. He grits his teeth. “It’s okay, you don’t have to be so gentle with me. I can take it.” You breathe, looking up at him. He laughs. “You have no idea what you’re getting yourself into baby.”
“I think I do.”
Simon lifts you up, laying you down on the floor, if they’re downstairs, they’ll hear the bed creaking. He pushes your legs up, and starts his bruising pace. Fucking into you like it’ll be the last time. Your eyes widen, but he clamps a hand over your mouth. “You wanted this. You can take it.” He growls. Your eyes roll back and you fall apart. Throbbing around him as you reach your high. You’re clamping down around him tightly and he can barely keep himself together. Of all of the people you thought you might lost your virginity to, Ghost was never one of them.
He takes one last hard thrust, jawline clenching up as he grits his teeth. His eyes screw shut and you realize that’s he’s just finished inside of you. Your eyes widen as you feel his warmth filling you.
He relaxes himself into you.
“Fuck- m’sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking I just couldn’t stop myself.” He breathes. “It’s okay.” You look up at him. You’re mesmerized by him.
He laughs, letting his head hang. “You can’t look at me like that. I won’t let you walk away.” He laughs.
You let your head rest against the floor. “You have to go with me.”
“I wouldn’t let you go down there alone. Not with that prick down there.” Simon growls. Sliding out of you. You gasp out as he does.
You redress yourselves, Simon letting you borrow one of his hoodies. A way to assert dominance, but you didn’t need to know that.
You make your way downstairs and he follows close behind. “What’s going on?” You ask.
“Mike wanted to apologize.”
Simon grips your hand in his. Pulling you closer. “What?”
“I shouldn’t have done what I did and I’m sorry Y/N.” You swallow hard. Your mum and dad look guilty. “We have to apologize too. For not believing you.” Your dad speaks up. “I don’t forgive you. Not any of you.” You breathe. “We’re heading out first thing in the morning and I won’t be back until I’m ready to.”
You pull Simon along, out the front door.
“How about I show you around? Where I grew up.” He smiles. “Course.” He smiles. Following you down the drive of your parents’ house. “You’ll have to show me where you grew up sometime.” You smile. “Yeah, of course. I’d love to darling.” He laughs. “You’re a strong girl you know that?” He opens up the car door for you. “I don’t know.”
“M’serious. You’re brave and strong. They don’t deserve a girl like you.”
You smile.
“So what does that tell you?” You ask. He moves closer. “I don’t know.” His lips ghost over yours.
“Don’t fuck it up, Riley.”

Time for another no nuance November #bad take
I genuinely believe that our society can and should accommodate a much wider range of experiences and abilities & that there are too many people struggling who really shouldn't be.
At the same time! There are many times where a struggle is something you must personally overcome to grow. Identifying challenges, disabilities, and disorders can help connect with resources and support and allow one to understand the nature of their struggles and pain. At a certain point identifying with the barriers you face can make them more challenging to overcome. Sometimes the only way out is through and sometimes you must do shitty stuff you don't like & find actively uncomfortable.
#the fine line between respecting & supporting differently abled individuals#and the belief that everyone can do things to support themselves and grow and bring something into this world#having a good support system is important and asking for help is better for everyone than suffering alone#but sometimes you gotta choke down food you dont like#sometimes you gotta shffer through physical discomfort in an unfriendly environment#sometimes things are gonna suck and you have to learn to deal with that to a certain extent#but things absolutely should the fuck not suck all the time#and so many things are unnecessarily difficult & painful for no apparent reason#thats stupid and sucks ass and i hate it & no one should have to deal with it#nd constantly suffering through unnecessary bullshit is exhausting and makes the challenges you must inherently overcome way more difficult#the specific situation im thinking off is an autistic person struggling with safe foods#due to overindulgence in the only thing their brain will let them eat#& constantly struggling to find things they can eat because whenever they settle into something it becomes unpalletable#which i can understand and relate to#but the inflexible mindset i have found in my autistic peers is heavily not conducive to the strategy i have found success in#which is trying things i know i dont like & finishing a small serving#cause i have personally found that after having a break from something i ate too much of there are many times i can come back and enjoy it#& having a bigger rotation means im less likely to overindulge#but it takes self control that is difficult to maintain and subjecting myself to things i dont like#which is lame and sucks#but to a certain extent i must eat and cannot avoid these trials

Tumblr media
Keep your helmet, keep your life, son Just a flesh wound, here's your rifle
Crawling up the beaches now "Sir, I think he's bleeding out" And some things you just can't speak about
The front porch of your grandmother’s house was your oasis. In the egg-shaped chair, you spent your break days reading, while your grandma knitted by your side. The neighborhood was usually quiet. Except today, a big moving truck was parked in front of the house to your right. The house had been for sale for a while – it was too small for a family, but it seemed like it finally found its owner.
You looked up from your book to see two men unloading boxes. One of them had longer black hair, freckles, a warm smile and a clean-shaven face. The other one, a bit older, had fluffy, short hair, a scruffy, greying beard and a strong nose. They were both very handsome. They both had darker skin, like farm workers who spent days outside.
“Didn’t know we had new neighbors, grams.” You said. Your grandmother barely looked up from her needles.
“Yes. Heard it’s a man who’s alone. Very handsome, but poor thing… had a rough life.”
You could always count on your grandma and her friends from bingo to tell you all the gossip.
“Yeah?”
“He served in the military, but he had to retire early. Bad mental health issues. Divorce, and all… He moved here to work with his brother in construction instead.”
“Sounds rough.”
“Hmhm. We’ll bring him some pie later, what do you think, sweets?”
“It’s a good idea, grams.” You agreed.
**
Later in the evening, after the moving truck left, you knocked at your new neighbor’s door. Your grandmother gave you the task of bringing the pie – poor old woman was already asleep.
The man with the scruffy beard you saw earlier opened the door, wearing joggers and a shirt that tightly hugged his muscles. He looked tired, dark circles deeply set under his pretty brown eyes.
“Hi. I live next door with my grandma. She…  made this apple pie to welcome you in the neighborhood. ”
“Thank you darlin’, that’s real nice. I’m afraid I can’t this eat all by myself, wanna join?”
“S-Sure !” You said as he took the pie from your hands. “It should still be warm.”
You followed him into the kitchen, where he cut two generous pieces for the two of you. You took a look around while you waited awkwardly. It was a nice, old house, and there were still boxes everywhere.
“I’m Joel, by the way.” He said as he tasted some of the pie on his fingers.
You told him your name and your grandmother’s.
“Young thing like ya, livin’ with your grandma?” He had a strong drawl, he was probably from the south, you assumed.
“Yeah, she’s my favorite person in the world.” You smiled. “She was lonely after grandpa died.” You exclaimed as you took a first bite of your grandmother’s still warm apple pie. “So I moved in with her and found a job at the bookstore nearby.”
“Don’t go to school or anythin’?”
“Never really found something that I was passionate about. And at 25… I’m too old to go back.”
“I see.”
“You don’t look too old yourself.” You commented. Sure, you could see a bit of grey in his hair, but he had a youthful face.
“Pushin’ 40.” He sighed.
“You don’t look 40.”
“I feel 80.” He chuckled as he ate more of the pie.
“How so?”
“Years of military and stress put a toll on my body.”
You couldn’t help but admire the strength of said body. “I see. What do you do now?”
“Construction, with my brother Tommy.”
You both finished your pieces in a comfortable silence.
“Well… I’ll see you around, Joel. Don’t hesitate if you need help with anything.” You said as you left.
“Thanks, darlin’. Tell me if ya need any work on your grandma’s house… and tell her thanks for the pie.”
**
After that, you exchanged small talk with Joel every time you saw him. He was a charming man, even your grandmother loved him. Weeks later, you were working in your garden, when you heard an unfamiliar voice in your neighbor’s yard. It sounded like a teenage girl. You finished shovelling the dirt and laid the shovel on the ground as you looked curiously in your neighbor’s yard’s direction. You could easily see through the white metal gate.
He was sitting in his yard with a girl. When he saw you, his eyes lit up and he waved.
“Oh, hey Joel. Didn’t mean to spy on you.” You said through the gate. “Who’s this pretty girl?”
“You’re good, darlin’. She’s my daughter, Sarah.” He punctuated his words with a caress of the girl’s thick curls. She waved shyly at you.
“Nice to meet you, Sarah.”
**
Hours later, you met him outside again.
“Care to join?” He asked, beer lifted towards the stars.
You laughed. “Yes.”
You climbed up the gate and landed in Joel’s yard. You sat on his patio while he grabbed a beer for you.
“Is Sarah already gone?”
“Yeah.” A shadow on his handsome, youthful face. “She can just visit. Her mother says I’m not stable enough to keep her longer.”
“I’m sorry.” You drank the bitter liquid. “Are you?”
Joel chuckled.
“Wish I was, darlin’. Feels like I can have 20 minutes of solid sleep every night. Wish my dreams weren’t filled with… landmines and dead soldiers. The doctor gave me pills, and they help but… I feel like I’ll never be myself again.”
“Then… find a new person to be.” You smiled, and hit your bottle with his. “You have so many years in front of you.”
“Hope you’re right, hun’.”
Comfortable silence for a while. The croaks of frogs in the fields. The buzzing mosquitoes clinging to every light. The swallowing.
“Did you tell your grandma thank you for everything she does?”
After the pie, your grandma always brought leftover food to Joel to make sure he ate, and she even invited him to dinner sometimes.
“Hmhm. Said you were a charming young man.” You looked at the stars for a few seconds, then at Joel. “I think so too.”
Bottles getting pushed to the side. Plush lips meeting. Desperate whispers of affection. Stumbling in the house while holding onto the other person. Clothes disappearing. Moans, hymn of a newly found love.
He was holding you close, an arm thrown around your waist as he was coming down from his own high. He was warm, strong, secure.  So strong physically, but so fragile inside.
You witnessed for the first time his fight with sleep. It was a violent one. He tossed, turned, screamed. You hushed him back to sleep every time, holding him, becoming the strong and secure one.
He fell again and again. Every night.
With you, I serve
With you, I fall down, down
Watch you breathe in
Watch you breathing out, out
And one day, he fell during daylight. You held him as he was crouched over a torn letter.
“She doesn’t want me to see our daughter anymore.” You rarely saw men cry. You thought it was socially ingrained in them not to. But Joel was sobbing, strong shoulders trembling.  “She got a court order and all.”
“We’ll fix this, Joel. Breathe, please.”
He had a hand over his heart, feeling it physically breaking. Ribcage so tight, no air coming out. You witnessed an angry phone call. Soft voice on the other end saying horrible things.
“ – She doesn’t wanna see you anymore, Joel. You scare her. She wants her dad from before… If you don’t go to therapy and work things out, she won’t see you.”
He yelled a broken cry as you kissed his temple.
Only 20 minutes to sleep But you dream of some epiphany Just one single glimpse of relief
Lights in the middle of the night. Tires stopping abruptly. Cops. So many cops. Blaring alarms of an ambulance.
The whole neighborhood came out to witness the paramedics coming in and getting out with a covered body.
You recognized the side of his body – who else could it have been?  You screamed and undid your body from your grandmother’s tight embrace, running like a mad woman to the police officers.
“Please, tell me what happened… ”
They didn’t listen.
“PLEASE. I’m his girlfriend.”
The sorry looks on their faces gave it away.
No.
No.
How is it possible.
I told him he had so many years left.
**
You held the letter in your hands as the ghost of your love lingered around the house. You realized you had seen every crack in his soul, but never his handwriting.
“Darling,
Please, don’t think this is your fault. I was already broken before you came into my life. You did make it more bearable for a few months and I’m grateful for it.
But I couldn’t keep going like this. I’m tired. I’m sorry for leaving you.
You have so many years left. Make this life good.
Tell your grandma I said thanks.
I love you,
Joel.”

This is chapter 9!! I couldn't add a title here (sos)
"You're hungry?" Angel tilted his head, confused. How could he already be hungry so soon. Sure, he was small, but he had eaten a day or two ago. He didn't need to eat so soon, that would be bad. But the growling noises coming from Xavier's stomach didn't just concern him, but also creeped him out. Seeing Xaviers cheeks go red and him covering his stomach with his arms, indicated to him that he didn't seem to enjoy this noise either.
After another deep breath, Xavier nodded, his stomach was causing him serious discomfort now. "Yes, I'm hungry. Starving even! Can't you.. I don't know.. give me a breadcrumb or something?? Ehh..heh- if you want of course" He gave an awkward smile, hoping he didn't anger the giant, seeing how deeply he seemed to be staring into his soul.
"But you just ate.." Xavier flinched at Angels sudden words, but, mostly irritated, answered "No.. I am seriously hungr-" he got cut off."
You just ate."
Angel repeated, furrowing his brows.
"I ate like two days ago!"
Xavier responded annoyed now, with a hint of fear in his voice. He didn't want Angel to break more of his bones or.. do something worse- "So? You still have like.. a week until you're allowed to eat." Allowed!? A week! He couldn't wait a week for a bit of food! So in the most polite way he could muster up, even adding a friendly smile into the mix, he asked "Are.. you not allowing me to eat for a week..to uhm... Torture me or something?" This seemed to surprise Angel "Huh? Did I say that? No. Your body wouldn't allow that! I'm helping you out here with your.. strong urges to eat I guess- I think you should get that checked out by a doctor" he whispered the last part, leaning in close doing so.
Xavier tries to push Angels face away, his hands merely sinking into his soft fur. God damn it. Why does his body also have to be squishier than a damn sponge
"What-.. what the hell is that even supposed to mean! I.. I'm literally trapped here-! Why would my body even need a week to be able to eat again? ....how many times do you think we have to eat in a week-" Angel was slightly surprised at Xavier's more loud exclamation, considering recent events, yet he rolled his eyes and responded in a sarcastic tone "Well surely it's every day almost every hour, with the way you're acting. Oh please.. you'll be fine for another week or so." Xavier looked at him dumbfounded.
Was this guy serious?
"sigh, yes. Yes I do. Normally three meals a day with some snacks on the side.. if I can afford that." He mumbled, he would just be honest, hoping he wouldn't use this info for some personal twisted use. He shivered at the thought of him capturing humans, just to let them starve. As much as he wanted to believe that no one would do that, he trusted this giant to perform such a cruel act. Looking back up, he expected a sadistic smirk, but was instead met with curious eyes, like some child that just found a shiny rock. Great. Now he was downgraded down to a shiny rock.
Angel gently wrapped his hand around Xavier, who was still floating mid air and placed him on his pillow. Patting the humans head, definitely not to play with his hair, he laid down on his stomach. With his hands on his cheeks and his legs propped up, kicking them in the air, he asked "You actually have to eat that much? That sounds.. overwhelming. Sad.. oh you sad, sad creature with your weird anatomy." Xavier shot him an annoyed glare, which he found quite amusing.
A small growl from Xavier made him hug himself again. He whined to himself, quietly, he just wanted a piece of food. Could this giant not ask questions later? With gritted teeth, he spoke "Yeah yeah, I'm pathetic, I think I got that so far. Can you please just get me something to eat." Angel, noticing the impatient tone in Xavier's voice, sighed deeply. If this meant the little dude wouldn't die, then he'd oblige. "Very well, it shouldn't be too hard to get you something to eat. I'll be right back!" With that, Angel quickly got up and ran out of the room, as if to quickly get away from a bomb that was about to explode. A few, agonizing, minutes later, Angel returned to Xavier, who was now curled into a Ball, clutching his stomach tightly. In a soft tone, he said "Dont worry, I got you something to eat.."
Opening his hand, he dropped a pile of large leaves in front of Xavier. At first he thought, maybe these were leaves used for a salad, though upon further inspection, Xavier realised that this was grass. Plain, simple grass. Was this some stupid joke?
Looking up at Angel however, only revealed that not only was he serious, he seemed to desperately want to watch Xavier eat this grass. As if he was some hamster trying to eat, with their owner watching over them, constantly awing at how adorable it was. At least now he wasn't a shiny rock anymore..
"...A- Angel, uhm.. what the hell is this? Do you think we eat grass or something?" With big, awaiting eyes, Angel nodded, pushing the grass blades closer to Xavier. "I tried plucking the best ones for you.. they all look the same to me though, so I'm sorry if this isn't up to your standards." Xavier tried to find a mocking tone in Angels voice, yet only seemed to find genuine care, which he found somewhat unnerving. "Err..it's nice that you're trying to feed me the good type of grass, I guess, but.." he gently pushed the grass away from him, "We humans don't eat.. grass." Angels mouth widened, a small gasp escaping his lips, surprised by this. "You.. don't eat grass? But I thought.. you did. I mean.. some of you had small patches of grass outside of your house... I thought you ate the grass from there."
Xavier shook his head in disbelief, did this guy know nothing about humans? Considering he seemed to only visit his world to torment the people there, that seemed to be true. "Those are gardens.. yes, some plant vegetables or fruits in their gardens, but they don't have them to eat the grass from there." Angel seemed to be genuinely upset by this and took away the grass. He let out a small snarl "I only wanted to help. What do you eat then, human." Xavier responded in a more friendly way, lest he anger the giant.. again. "Well, all sorts of things.. fruits, vegetables, meat and, yes, even things that are cooked, fried or what not." Angel stared at him, as if he had just revealed some dark secret humans had, before bursting out laughing, causing Xavier to flinch and stiffen up.
"You- hah.. you eat meat!? Hahaha! Look at your scrawny form! As if you could hunt animals! That's something I'd love to watch, watching you run around and fail to hunt even the simplest animals! You can barely even catch up to animals like rabbits and you're telling me you eat meat!" Xavier frowned at the mocking comments being made about him, not that they were necessarily wrong, but at least he didn't chase after helpless people that were barely a dusk speck compared to him.
His stomach grumbled again, seemed like he wasn't the only one who was annoyed by Angel. "Can you not give me some of the left over curry? Unless you already ate everything..-" Angel stopped laughing and went back to staring Xavier down. "No, I threw it away after you landed in my food. No offence, but I don't want your dirty germs all over my food."
As if you care about cleanliness.
Xavier thought, side eying Angels dirty room. With a heavy sigh, he looked back up to Angel "Could you.. perhaps cook me something?" Angel looked away, finally averting his gaze "I don't have any food right now.. I mean.. I only buy food when I want to cook something, so currently I have no food available.. ehe-" In a dramatic fashion, Xavier let himself fall on his back. "But.." Angel said slowly, "I could go out and get some food.." Xaviers mood lifted slightly, he could wait a little longer if that meant he would get some dinner soon. "However, you're coming with me. I am not getting food you can't eat in the end. That would just be a waste of product." Well there went his good mood. "Come.. with you? Outside where other giants like you are? ....no thanks. I'd much rather stay here." the giant placed a finger against his chin "You're not wrong.. I don't need them to know you exist, not that they run away screaming or something.." Angel mumbled.
Xavier thought Angel misspoke "Wait what? 'Run away screaming' why? Why would they do that" Angel nervously chuckled and looked away. Tripping over his words, he answered "Ehh.. Ehe, let's just say, they ...well uhm.. f.. fear you guys. Your whole world to be precise. Honestly anything that isn't from their world. We.. err aren't allowed to exit our world either. So it's best if no one finds out about your existence here." Xavier just looked at Angel as if he just told the most obscure and bizarre story ever. "Are you fucking with me right now?" Angel raised an eyebrow and looked him up and down. "No, I think both of our clothes are still on, unless..~ nevermind.." "What..?" Xavier, uncomfortable, scooted away slightly "No, that's not what I meant, weirdo- I meant.. how on earth are your people afraid of us!" Scratching the back of his neck, avoiding eye contact, Angel answered in a whispering tone "Well.. lets just say.. they have a different image when thinking of a human" Xavier's curiousity was peaked. "Different you say? Why, what do they think when thinking of us?"
"Let's not waste any time now! We...heh We don't want ya starving any further haha! Here let me hide your scent for you" He quickly grabbed Xavier and rapidly began licking him from the bottom to the top. Xavier thrashed around, trying to push away the fleshy muscle to no avail. Seemed like the giant was done with the conversation.
With a hefty sigh, Xavier let Angel lick him. If it was to taste him or to actually hide his scent, somehow, he couldn't tell, maybe it was both. After Angel was done, he tried to rub off some of the saliva with his sleeve, whilst kneading his chest fluff, with his other hand, to loosen it slightly. "There.. now you're all ready!" He lowered Xavier into his fur, squishing his fur together to prevent his new passenger from slipping down. Walking towards the door, he opened a small closet, where he grabbed his keys and a jacket he put on. Pushing away some of his stuff that laid around in there, revealed a small hidden drawer in the closet. Quickly he unlocked the drawer with a key and pulled it open. The object inside caused Xavier to flinch.
There, laid a gun with swirled rose-golden and white engravings on it. Whilst Xavier was clutching Angels fur in nervousness, Angel, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind, happily taking it out and viewing it. With a shaky voice, Xavier asked "Why- why are you taking that out. We.. we are just going to run some errands, right??" Angel gave a small nod "Yes, of course. But ya never know what could happen. I'm just making sure we'll stay safe, why, do you not own a gun?" Xavier wondered in what kind of neighborhood Angel lived in, where it was that dangerous, that he had to take a gun with him. Shaking his head, he answered "No. Why would I? I'm not American." Angel looked at him irritated, but didn't answer. He just shrugged and hid the gun in his chest fur, causing shivers to run down Xavier's spine.
Angel hummed as he walked down the streets with his company safely secured In his fur. Even if the human was tiny, the warmth radiating from his body made him shiver ever so slightly. He enjoyed it, he enjoyed every moment being near the human, feeding off of his energy and short temper. It amused him, in a way even made his day. In fact, a part of him enjoyed teasing the tiny more than torturing him physically. Screams were fun, but the ability to control every part of someone, to stop them from speaking further or choosing what they had to eat, simple things like that, made him feel even better. He was in control of Xavier's every action and he knew it. It's not like the human could put up a fight against him. The psychological torment gave him such a thrill. He grinned, his tail swishing around behind him. Looking down, he saw how Xavier looked around frantically, flinching every time a person walked by. How adorable.
Xavier looked around, his heart was in his throat. These creatures seemed to come in all sizes and forms. Some even towered over Angel, whilst in the corners of the streets he could see people his own size, if not slightly taller. They seemed to be waiting for.. something. Squinting his eyes, he tried to see what they could potentially be waiting for. There, a small platform lowered to the ground, with the tiny folks stepping on them, getting lifted into the air. Following their ascent upwards, he noticed long tubes spanning across the houses, with these smaller people running through them. That was definitely one way to get around, whilst also not risking getting stepped on. It didn't seem that any of the giants seemed to mind them though, which surprised him slightly. Though perhaps, if Angel had some kind of powers, so did they. Meaning they weren't as defenceless as he was. Just his luck..
Swallowing hard, he tried to somehow back away from a giant that passed them. Luckily they were too busy talking to someone on the phone, however their loud laughter rumbled through his ears, hurting his sensitive ear drums Glancing up, he saw how Angel seemed to be amused by his suffering. He frowned, averting his gaze quickly. He wouldn't cater to his amusement. With another giant passing them, he groaned, displeased with his current situation. Trying to lower himself into the fur, Angel chuckled slightly, using a finger to press him down. He glared at him, trying to whisper a curse up to him, though was met with a mouthful of fur, which strangely tasted like marshmallows.
Gross.
With a sigh, he spat out the fur and gave the biggest pout he could muster up, making sure Angel knew that this wasn't funny to him. So what if that only made it funnier, the giant already knew he hated this, why hide his emotion. He continued his pout until his mouth ached, making him stop. Though it seemed that not only he stopped, but so did Angel. With a shiver running down his spine, he heard the dreadful words.
"We're here."

Leo’s Log Entries 234 to 345
It seems you stumbled across a broken control pad. As it boosts up, the label reads ‘Property of Leo’. Most files are corrupted. You take a look at those remaining. (Cass, @somerandomdudelmao thank you so much for creating such an inspiring, wonderful and heart-breaking story. Like many others, I was deeply moved by the latest updates. I hope you don’t mind the few creative liberties I took to tell bits of the comic from Leo’s perspective.)
Log entry 234: Man, this feels weird. It’s been ages since the last time I did an entry. The previous one dates so far back that I had both of my arms still. Sweet innocent Leo with two arms, I want to slap that idiot as soon as we got time travel. Donnie told me I should make it a habit again. I guess I kept zoning out during dinner because it was sometimes difficult to process every single crazy thing that had happened within a day. So, here I am, talking to this log and letting it record me. And Dee, if you are eavesdropping, I ate our final package of froot loops, probably the last one that remained on Earth. I needed to stress-eat after you had turned me into a tangerine-sized turtle tod. I only thought it fair to be somehow compensated for that unwanted experience…
Log entry 255: Case is pacing around all night. He had returned from a mission with Donnie being seriously hurt. You would think we’ve been through stuff like this so often it doesn’t bother us anymore. Nope. Each time, I see one of my family injured, I share their pain. Not in any physical sense. More in the ‘I wish I could have done something to prevent that’ kind of hurt. I long gave up on ‘what-if’ scenarios. The present moment doesn’t give two fs about your guilt. Mikey once told me that he envies me for being so focused on the present and that he sometimes struggles to be really here with us and not be torn between the spiritual realm and the physical. I laughed like a crazy person, and I think he misunderstood me. To me, it was the other way around. I miss Dad so much and I had no means of reaching him. Kinda ironic if you ask me that his ‘least favorite’ son was the one to lose his Ninpo and because of that was forced to let him go forever. Log entry 283: I can’t believe this really happened. I always knew Casey was like a good luck charm but that he would be the one to find Raph and bring him home! Raph is back! He is really back! I haven’t realized it until that big machine picked us all up and pressed us tightly into a hug how much I had relied on him and missed his presence. It was like taking that first breath of fresh air after staying underwater for too long. Our family is whole again. Well, as whole as it can be. Log entry 284: Today’s moral of the story: Things cannot go back to how they used to be. Raph refused to take up his old position, especially with some of his programs malfunctioning and Donnie not able to repair him entirely, he told me he doesn’t want the resistance to rely on him and that I had done a great job in taking up this role as leader. I totes understand him and yet…some part of me hoped I could revert to second-in-command. Spend some more time with Case. Go on my own missions. In the end, duty calls, and there’s no easy way out of it. Log entry 294: My big brother’s return was a miracle and even so, Dee found a way to grant us another one. I don’t want to know what that grenade is made out of, and it doesn’t matter. It can REVERSE the effects of Mikey’s quick aging and that is all that counts! Seeing Mike running around, messing with his abilities, and full of energy…I’m so happy for him. Between an ageless robot and a renewed younger bro, I’m the one who’s doomed to feel like an old fart. Second chances are rare. I always regretted that Mikey had to give up so much of his life for our cause. Let’s hope Donnie can continue to produce these anti-aging bombs for a long time. Log entry 301: It’s raining with the lowest levels of sulphur dioxide in the last ten years. It’s not like it’s super safe. That hadn’t prevented Case from running around and enjoying himself within the rain simulation that Donnie had created afterward. He wrapped us all up in his shenanigans and forced us to stop what we were doing and enjoy the little things in life. That’s…not a bad thing. Log entry 303: We lost Boston. Casualties approximately 200. A ceremony for the fallen is scheduled for the day after. April had intended to inspect the Boston branch and I’m somehow glad she got delayed and hadn’t managed to reach it in time. Otherwise, I’m pretty sure, she wouldn’t have returned. She’s on her way home and I can’t wait to see the look on her face when she hears about Raph. Log entry 314: Our scouting teams record higher rates of kraangified humans and yokai. It’s commonly considered a worse fate than death and yeah sure, we had figured out a way to reverse the process. Even so, it was dangerous for everyone involved and I forbid Mikey at one point to ‘treat’ anyone further. My brother would have crumbled away like overcooked toast if he would’ve cured every kraangified being there was. The instant I realized Casey had gotten infected, I was ready to beg my brother on my knees. Everyone’s selfish in their own ways, huh? Log entry 315: Casey shows great signs of improvement. Dee switched to ‘casual’ surveillance, aka his dozens of cameras whose locations nobody knows for sure. I’m doing my best to make the boy feel less responsible for what happened. We cannot blame ourselves for these things or else we would have lost our sanity long ago. Log entry 322: Hey, Dad. I know I cannot talk to you, but I really wonder if you felt the same way whenever we called you that: Dad. Case used that word to refer to me today. Well, to be honest, he also meant Donnie and Mikey, and Raph. It was one of those stupid ‘my dad is better than yours’ competitions, which makes it even better in my personal opinion. Back when I had promised Cass to look after her son, my first thought had been that this human baby was going to be a burden and I would surely mess everything up. But look at him, look at us. I would do anything for him. Heh, you surely had something similar on your mind when you went ahead and protected us at the cost of your own life. Log entry 343: Things have been busy. With April joining our team, I can allow myself to make more ballsy plans and we sure as hell need those victories. The Kraang continually pushes us back. It’s time to return to favor. Log entry 356: Man, my twin is the smartest person on earth. How did he manage to accidentally spill some of the anti-aging serum on himself? And how can such a small creature be so angry? We all haven’t slept for over 30 hours, afraid that if we take our eyes off him, he either ends up killing someone or gets eaten and I’m not thrilled about both options. Log entry 357: Casey is a genius. He built Tiny Tello a pair of custom glasses. He seems to recognize Mikey and me. Raph is too…changed. That human boy has a heart of gold, to do something so kind for someone who shows him no gratitude whatsoever. He insists it’s payback for everything ‘Uncle Donatello’ built for him. Long story short, my twin’s living in my scarf and it’s only the third weirdest thing to ever happen to me. The way he sometimes pads me with his small hands is adorable (note to myself that I should never mention that to Dee) and it makes me nostalgic for days long gone. Log entry 359: I shouldn’t be surprised that the base can’t exist long without Donnie’s maintenance. Occasionally Mike and I liked to make fun of him for merging with the place and being a true shut-in. Jokes on us that we realized how MUCH we are dependent on him once he turned into a small vicious turtle ball. We need to find a solution fast. Log entry 361: Not sure if it was sheer luck and honestly who cares. Dee is back and we need him now more than ever. Raph sustained some grave damage that isn’t fixable. The same goes for yours truly. They can berate me on how I need to be more careful all they want, I will never regret prioritizing Casey’s life. The longer our resistance continues like this, the more I believe this isn’t about me. They could easily replace me, but everyone in my family is so damn special and irreplaceable. I’m going to hold on to them for as long as I can. Log entry 378: Mikey was such an airhead when he was a teen. What happened? Like for real? He had developed an almost uncanny ability to know when we need someone to talk to or hug or, in Dee’s case, rest. And with his mad abilities, he won’t take a ‘no’ for an answer. I think I need to tell him more often how proud I am. Log entry 379: Casey called me in the middle of a meeting, that was already suspicious. The fact that Dee has been sleeping longer than six hours? Also, unusual. We’re currently taking turns, waiting for him to wake up and explain what’s going on. I’m recording this during my shift. My brother looks smaller and frail. He sinks into his bed almost as if the mattress is about to absorb him. His health was bad when Dad died. He had grieved through overwork and constant exhaustion. I couldn’t see a reason he would fall back into this old pattern. Maybe our injuries had made things worse for him. I should take over most of his work and redistribute it for a while. He won’t like it, but I don’t like seeing him like this even more. Log entry 380: Donnie has been infected. Even he doesn’t know when or where exactly. One thing is for sure, it rendered him weak for a while now and he had refused to let us know. It’s worrying that it’s a variant we haven’t dealt with before. But it’s okay. We’re going to figure something out. We always have. Log entry 385: Mikey and I had sat down late to discuss our options. His hair had turned mostly grey again, a sign my younger brother had done everything he could. Nothing worked. Good thing, the mystic isn’t our only trump card. There’s science, too. Donnie must be close to finding a solution, he has been working non-stop. Log entry 386: I just can’t understand why he would make an excessive list of things we’re supposed to take care of instead of focusing on himself. He’s supposed to be the smart one. So, what if the means to cure himself don’t exist anymore? There must be alternatives. Something even he overlooked. For the time being, we try to let him rest as much as possible and survey him. April’s visiting other resistance groups in the hope of answers. I’ve been contacting Draxum and he assured me to let me know when he found anything. Log entry 389: Casey asked me if he could sleep at my place for the night. He’s upset because Donnie made no effort in hiding his calculations of his own death. He might not act that way, but it must bother him as much as it did Casey. Dee just never expresses his emotions the same way others do. I tried to explain this to Casey. He didn’t say anything in return and quietly sobbed against the back of my shell. Log entry 399: We’ve returned to some form of normalcy, though everyone stays at the base for longer periods to hang around Donnie. He notices and refrains from commenting. Denying makes it a bit more bearable. He’s right here and we’ll be fucking damned to let anything change that. Log entry 415: I had no other choice but to move out on a mission myself. We recently lost fights we should’ve won and there are rumors that it has to do with Donnie’s health and our absence. I blame it on my lack of sleep that I stumbled into one of the Kraang’s traps. One mistake might cost your life, that’s how it has been for the last 20 years, and I was ready to pay the price. Then from nowhere, Donnie appeared in his slabby pullover and summoned the greatest arsenal of mystic weaponry that I’ve ever seen. Casey had surely been with Dee as a crutch. Though, it appeared as if it was the other way around and the boy held on to his uncle while he pushed back the entire Kraang army. It's been…a while since Donnie had gone all out. Witnessing what he’s capable of reminded me of the time we had full access to our Ninpo and had gotten extremely cocky. Even then, my twin had been the rational voice of the team. Choosing to be flashy on special occasions and focusing on providing us with the necessary support and firepower. It had never been anything personal. This time, when rockets flew over our heads causing grand explosions, I could see it in his eyes. He was free at that moment. His mind was consumed with revenge for what the Kraang had done to him and enjoying their screams and demise without a thought wasted on efficiency or greater purpose. Fearing he would collapse from over-exerting himself I had to grab him, and we retreated. He seemed in good spirits afterward. I’m telling myself that if he’s strong enough to pull something like this off, he must be okay. He must be. Log entry 422: A week after Donnie’s all-out attack, his health worsened visibly. As he huddles through his lab to take care of business as usual, we cherish the small things. Drinking tea together. Throwing bad puns at each other. The four of us are often sitting down, reminiscing about the times before this whole mess started. Sometimes April or Casey join us. We would like to show our concern and ask Donnie how he’s feeling, if he needs anything, what we can do for him, but we don’t. Life continues on. Log entry 435: I’m tired. I haven’t slept in a few days. Can’t tell exactly how long it has been. I don’t want to miss anything. Every second is precious, even writing this feels like a waste of time. But I also can’t hover over Donnie, he wouldn’t want that. He’s already mad at me since I denied taking over some of his tasks as if he’s already gone. He’s been trying to explain a few of his inventions to me that keep our base up and running, but it’s been difficult to focus. My mind drifts off to repeat the same few sentences over and over again. Please don’t leave us. Please stay with me. Please. Don’t go.

🎇The Sky Is Falling On Me, Chapter 2 - A Nightingale In A Golden Cage
Pairing: Hanzo Hasashi/Kuai Liang Length: 7015 Words Rating: Mature Warnings: Magic/Fantasy AU, Mages, Anxiety, Isolation, Codependency, Elemental Magic, Mentions of onesided Sektor/Kuai Liang
The Sky Is Falling On Me Masterlist
Notes: Sup guys, hope you all had a good holiday whichever you happen to celebrate :) Time for another chapter for one of my long fics, I know, idk what’s happening to me either lmfao. This time, Hanzo gets a little closer to earning Kuai’s trust, and we learn a little more about Kuai & Bi-Han’s circumstances and their upbringing. Chapter title is from “The Escapist” by Nightwish.
Tumblr media
Kuai could hear the ice crack around him, and no matter how much he tried to reel it back in, he just couldn’t.
His fingers tangled into his hair, nails digging into his scalp. It didn’t matter that he could feel the sting of his flesh breaking, or blood slowly beading from the wounds. His breathing hitched and he sobbed, he just could not stop himself. Thoughts of how this was the end would not leave his mind, his life with his brother and friends was over, and he was going to be taken away from all that he knew. The thing his Father had warned him of was going to finally catch up to him.
Everything was over.
“Kuai Liang,” Bi-Han’s voice broke through his thoughts, and even though he looked up, he could barely see his brother through his tears. “You need to eat.”
Kuai screwed his eyes shut, feeling tears roll down his cheeks. He shook his head vigorously. He heard something being placed on the floor, and seconds later hands wrapped around his wrists, firmly pulling them down. Kuai didn’t try to fight it, and opened his eyes in time for his brother to gently pat his head.
“He won’t take you,” Bi-Han muttered, although the shake in his voice told Kuai Liang he wasn’t all that confident in that statement. “I will not let him.”
“B- b- but- but-“ He wanted to slap himself for how pathetic he felt right now. What would Father say if he could see you right now?
“Shush. He won’t.” Bi-Han sounded firmer now. Still nervous, but a lot more sure of himself. Kuai watched as he picked up a bowl full of noodles. “Now. You need to eat.”
“N- Not- Not hungry.” His stomach was doing too many flips for him to believe that he could keep anything down.
Bi-Han gave a frustrated sigh, causing Kuai to curl up on himself. He really thought that he’d throw up anything he ate right now, but he also couldn’t stand the thought of Bi-Han being angry at him, especially after everything that had happened. As Kuai forced himself to straighten out, Bi-Han’s posture relaxed, realising Kuai was going to comply with what he wanted.
Bi-Han silently passed the bowl to Kuai, and he accepted it without complaint. Kuai took a bite of the noodles. They were a little bland and flavourless. Bi-Han never was that good at cooking, neither was their father actually. The best either of them had ever been able to manage was edible. Kuai had taken responsibility for that particular chore when he was around 10, after he’d found his Mother’s notebook of old family recipes. Neither Bi-Han or Father had complained, and had happily let him take the reins.
Kuai was never sure exactly how he felt about his Mother’s death. Every time his family told him he was just like her, both in personality and looks, it caused pangs of guilt to spread through his chest. Technically, he was the one who took her from them. But when the guilt finally died down, all Kuai could think was how he wished she could have been there with them. That she could have taught him how to cook her recipes, that she could have been there to guide him, that she could have also been there to protect him from the world.
How strange it is to long for a woman I never knew.
“How did he find out?” Bi-Han asked as he shifted until he was properly seated on the floor next to Kuai, rather than the awkward squat he’d been in previously.
“I- I didn’t-“ He grimaced, knowing before he’d even spoken it was going to sound like he was making excuses for being careless, rather than things being genuinely out of his control. “Arch- Archmages can- can sense magic.”
“Shit,” Bi-Han hissed, slamming his fist against the floor. Kuai jumped slightly, ducking his head down as he continued to eat. “I guess this is why Father wanted you to never be anywhere near any of them.”
“What- What are we- we- going to do?” Bi-Han could claim that he wouldn’t let Archmage Hasashi take him, but Kuai wasn’t convinced. Hasashi was surely powerful, if he wasn’t he wouldn't be an Archmage. He’d probably be able to kill Bi-Han easily. Just the thought made Kuai’s heart clench.
He’d already lost his Father, he couldn’t lose Bi-Han as well, especially not indirectly caused by him, like his Mother.
“I don’t know,” Bi-Han admitted, rubbing his fingers over his lips. “But we should stay on the farm for at least the next few days. You should stay put until the Archmage is gone.”
“What if- if he comes here?” Because now he knew where they lived, it was extremely likely he’d show up unannounced again. Most likely hoping to catch Kuai alone. Kuai shuddered at the thought.
“I’ll fucking stab him.” If this wasn’t such a desperate situation, Kuai would have laughed at that reply. “I can say he was trespassing on our property then I won’t be prosecuted.”
“I don’t think- think that’s how it works, Bi-Han.”
“Well we hopefully won’t have to find out.” Bi-Han rubbed his eyes, baring his teeth. “But I will make sure you’re safe, Kuai Liang, believe me. I won’t let anyone hurt you.”
“Thank you, Bi-Han.”
Kuai finished off the noodles, placing the bowl on the floor beside him. Once that was done, he flopped over to rest against Bi-Han, an arm reaching up to rest on his chest. Bi-Han in turn wrapped an arm around Kuai’s shoulders and held him close. They were still surrounded by ice, but thankfully there was nothing new being added to it.
“I don’t know what I’d do without you,” he whispered sadly, pressing his face against Bi-Han’s shoulder.
“My life only has purpose because you are here,” Bi-Han admitted, squeezing Kuai and pulling him closer. “You are the most important thing, nothing matters like you do. I promise you, that Archmage will not take you from me.”
Kuai closed his eyes, praying to the Elder God’s that it was a promise his brother could actually keep.
Tumblr media
Hanzo was going to have to try and gather more information if he had a hope of even attempting to get into Kuai’s good graces.
Now that the brother’s knew that Hanzo was aware of their big secret, it was likely they’d find a way to completely shut him out. He needed to know more about the pair, more in depth than a random towns person would be able to provide. He needed someone close to them. Someone who was a friend.
Someone like Cyrax.
Hanzo remembered the yellow clad man from his first meeting with Kuai Liang. He recalled how he’d protectively stepped in when Kuai felt uncomfortable. It was clear there was a friendship there. Not trusted enough to know Kuai Liang’s secret of course, Hanzo doubted anyone was, but enough that he might know more about their personal circumstances.
He walked through the town square, eyes landing on where Cyrax’s stall was. Thankfully, the man was there, adding some stock to his display. Hanzo debated how he’d start the conversation, not wishing to make it seem like he was fishing for information once again. He’d start with general chat, and hope the conversation could be steered to the brothers.
“Hello again, Cyrax,” Hanzo greeted once he’d walked close enough, and Cyrax’s head shot up to him. “I hope you are well today.”
“I am, thank you Archmage Hasashi.” Cyrax finished placing down his wares and turned around to face him. “I hope you are as well.”
“I am doing well, thank you.” Hanzo gazed across Cyrax’s produce, as if he was trying to decide what to buy. In all honesty, some of the fruits he sold looked delicious. Are they from the farm? It did look like Kuai was selling some to him. “Have you managed to sell much today?”
Cyrax hummed and sighed, “with respect, Archmage Hasashi, I already know that is not why you are talking to me.” Hanzo looked back to him, where he now had his arms crossed. “Bi-Han was here earlier and seemed… most upset about your visit to his farm.”
“Ah. Yes, I did rather anger him.” That was an understatement, and it worried him that if Bi-Han ran his mouth too much, it could potentially affect his deal with the Zhou’s. “I am rather hoping for some insight on how to fix it.”
“Good luck with that,” Cyrax muttered under his breath, shaking his head. “Out of curiosity, what exactly is it about Kuai Liang that has caught your attention?”
Cyrax was giving him a knowing look, like he suspected exactly why Hanzo was so keen on getting in Kuai’s good graces. Still, Hanzo knew he could not confirm those suspicions. If the brother’s found out he’d told anyone it would completely kill any chance he had at earning their trust. The least he could do was keep their secret until they were ready to reveal it.
“I am just concerned for his well being,” Hanzo decided to reply instead. The look on Cyrax's face seemed to indicate he’d taken that as confirmation of his beliefs.
“Aren’t we all?” He breathed out, seemingly aware that his revelation needed to remain unspoken. “Well, then, speak. What do you want to know?”
“Well, my main question is regarding the relationship between Kuai Liang and Bi-Han.” He paused to think of the best way to word the question. “How exactly did they get so entangled?”
“I think it all stems from their father’s grief.” Cyrax reached a hand to rub at the back of his neck. “Their mother, rest her soul, died giving birth to Kuai Liang. I think their father, and by extension Bi-Han, saw Kuai Liang as the only thing they had left of her.”
That made a disturbing amount of sense to Hanzo, and was sadly understandable. In a strange way, embracing Kuai Liang and protecting him was the kinder way that situation could have gone. They could have shunned him, blaming him for the death of his mother. At the very least, they saw him for what he was.
His mother’s last gift to her family.
“I think they were scared of losing him, like they lost her. Their father, Jian, used to tell those who knew of Kuai’s existence that he was a sickly child, which was why he kept him on the farm.”
“Was he a sickly child?” He couldn’t decide if that was a convenient excuse or legitimately a worry.
“I don’t know.” Cyrax's gaze left Hanzo to stare towards the path that led to the farm. “When I went to visit and play with Bi-Han, I remember seeing and speaking to him every now and then. I don’t know if I’d say he seemed sick, as such, but he was always ice cold to the touch.”
An untrained cryomancer being cold to the touch? That sounds about right. That was his powers desperately trying to escape him. The worst bit was, it probably strengthened the lie that he was sick. Assuming it was a lie, which at this point, Hanzo was fairly convinced of.
“I understand why they have been so overprotective of him,“ he sighed, rubbing his chin with his hand. Understanding didn’t mean condoning, and Hanzo absolutely believed that their good intentions completely hindered Kuai’s ability to live a normal life. “But that level of isolation can’t be healthy for someone’s psyche.”
“Well, you’ve clearly seen it isn’t.” Cyrax didn’t sound annoyed, just sad and resigned. A man who knew he had no way of helping someone who clearly needed it. “He’s terrified of his own shadow. For the love of the Elder Gods, I adore Kuai Liang, but I have no idea how he’s ever going to function if something happens to Bi-Han.”
“That… Admittedly has been one of my concerns as well.” Kuai Liang was so reliant on his brother for almost everything in his life. The man would probably completely shut down without him.
Or…
“If Bi-Han died, I could see him latching onto Sektor just so he has someone to tell him how to think and feel.”
That had been what the woman Hanzo spoke to yesterday had said, hadn’t it? Hanzo bit his lip, he needed to know more about that particular situation, but even on the surface it didn’t feel like a good one.
“I have heard rumours since coming to town,” Hanzo slowly started, looking towards Cyrax and trying to judge any reaction. “That Sektor may have eyes for Kuai Liang.”
Cyrax’s eyes widened momentarily, before he looked away in alarm. He worried his lip between his teeth, eyes darting around slightly like he was trying to figure out how to reply to that.
“It… Is no secret that Sektor desires Kuai Liang, no matter what Sektor may tell himself.” He continued to stare off into the distance, shifting his stance ever so slightly. “But it never occurred to me that he may swoop in after Bi-Han’s death.”
“Would Kuai Liang be receptive to his advances?”
“I… I don’t know.” Cyrax turned to look at Hanzo. “What I do know is that Sektor has been asking Bi-Han for Kuai Liang’s hand in marriage for many years now.”
“I assume Bi-Han has turned it down at every turn?” That was what the woman had implied anyway, the reason that Sektor was choosing to bide his time.
“Yes. To the point I’m not sure Kuai Liang is even aware that Sektor thinks of him like that.” Hm. That’s a point, would he even be able to identify if someone was interested in him like that with how sheltered he is? Hanzo tried to think back to their first meeting when Sektor had been there. Kuai had looked extremely uncomfortable, but given that seemed to be his natural state it didn’t really help that much.
“So, if Bi-Han were to die…”
Cyrax was silent for a moment before muttering “if Bi-Han were to die, I believe that Sektor is devious enough to seize the opportunity to make Kuai Liang his.” He looked to the ground. “And I don’t think Kuai Liang has enough personal autonomy to be able to refuse.”
That was what Hanzo feared. It sounded like his entire life Kuai Liang was not allowed to think for himself, let alone decide his own fate. Trying to convince him that he could be in control of himself, trying to teach him to have his own autonomy, that would be half the challenge.
“Can I give you some advice, Archmage Hasashi?” Cyrax questioned, tilting his head slightly. Hanzo nodded hesitantly. “I do not fully comprehend what exactly it is that has you fascinated with him, although I can take a guess.” Hanzo kept silent and as neutral as he could. Even if it was now an unspoken truth between them, Hanzo still couldn’t find it in him to verbally confirm it. “But you need to be a lot more careful than you are currently being.”
“I am aware.” How could I not be? Between Kuai’s panic attack and Bi-Han’s rage? It was impossible to miss that the way he’d handled things did not go well.
“Bi-Han is not the only person to whom Kuai Liang is precious.” Cyrax brushed himself down. “It upsets me greatly to see him in such distress.” Hanzo swallowed slightly. “I do not think you have malicious intent, however, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.” He reached out a hand, placing it squarely on Hanzo’s chest. “If you insist on continuing your attempts to reach out to him, he tends to be more receptive to conversation when he’s working.”
Hanzo raised an eyebrow at that. “Really?”
“Yes. It’s like the physical work distracts him from his emotions.” Cyrax shrugged a little. Actually, once again, Hanzo could see the logic of why that might be the case. Having Kuai focused on something other than the conversation might be just what he needs.
“I will keep that in mind.” So I’m going to have to try and catch him while he’s working? That was easier said than done, but would be something he’d keep in mind.
“Also, for your own sake,” Cyrax continued, now wearing a smirk on his face. “Maybe try avoiding Bi-Han from now on. I don’t think he’s bluffing when he says he’ll kill you.”
Hanzo chuckled and said “oh believe me, I am taking his threats seriously." Sure, technically Bi-Han was of no real concern for Hanzo, but that didn’t mean he didn’t realise that the man would absolutely try his luck. Having to dispose of Bi-Han, even in a non-fatal way, would not go down well and he’d rather avoid it if possible.
Cyrax nodded, eyes flicking over towards a woman who was approaching them. “Well, if you’ll excuse me, it appears I have a customer.”
“I thank you for your help.”
Hanzo didn’t stick around to find out what the woman wanted to buy, but he did politely bow to her as he walked past.
With a little more context in his armoury, he now needed a new plan of action to approach Kuai Liang again. He would wait a few more days before trying again, letting the dust truly settle from his first attempt. Besides he was still here for other reasons, and there was a lot left for him and Sektor to discuss. Catching Kuai working while Bi-Han was not present would be the difficult part, but it sounded like his best chance to make any progress. Maybe if he caught wind the elder brother was away from the farm, he’d take his chances and hope Kuai Liang was busy when he turned up.
For now though, he’d go back to concentrating on the official reason he was here.
Tumblr media
Days had passed without any sign of Archmage Hasashi.
While that definitely didn’t mean he could relax, it did put his mind at ease slightly. Maybe he had given up? He was certainly still in town, as Tomas had mentioned seeing him. Apparently he appeared quite busy dealing with Sektor, which was good Kuai supposed. It meant he wasn’t bothering him.
Bi-Han had calmed down considerably in the last few days, no longer hovering over Kuai at every waking hour. Kuai loved his brother, but he was glad that he’d finally backed off slightly. He was starting to feel a little suffocated by his brother’s unwavering attention.
Kuai was out in the fields, checking over their crops for ripe tomatoes, peppers and chilis. Bi-Han decided it was safe enough for him to leave the farm for a few hours to get the week’s orders sorted out with the town's various vendors. He’d put it off for as long as he could at this point, and it really needed to be done.
Kuai wasn’t sure what it was about picking crops that he found so relaxing, but aside from looking after their animals, it was probably his favourite thing to do on the farm. He plucked a ripe tomato from the vine, resisting the urge to bite into it. Father used to tell him off for constantly eating their merchandise. Bi-Han was a little less strict with him, and had made a deal that once Kuai had harvested everything ripe, he could choose one item to snack on.
Sure, Bi-Han wasn’t here right now, yet somehow he always seemed to know when Kuai had gone against the rules. It was uncanny.
“Kuai Liang.”
The sudden voice made him jump a mile. Twisting to where it had come from, he found himself face to face with Archmage Hasashi. He hadn’t even heard footsteps. It’s disturbing how easily he can sneak up on me.
“What- what are you doing here?” He tried to sound intimidating, but he was certain he just sounded scared instead.
“I understand that I am not exactly your favourite person right now,” Hasashi softly said, and Kuai actually snorted at that, “but I did say I still needed to talk to you further.”
“I- I- I-“ Kuai winced, growling at the fact he was stuttering over this. “Um. I don’t see- see what’s left to talk about.”
“You cannot keep hiding yourself forever.” Hasashi reached a hand out, and Kuai flinched away from him. When he observed Hasashi’s face, he absolutely hated the look of pity being thrown his way.
“Who says I- I can’t?” He hissed, and turned on his heels. He’d kept his powers hidden for this long, the only reason he’d been found out was because Hasashi had an unfair advantage.
“One day, you’re going to lose control.” That was said in such a matter of fact way that it made Kuai bare his teeth. He just about managed to stop himself from squashing the tomato he was picking. “If you don’t learn to harness your powers, you could end up either hurting yourself or someone else.”
Kuai bit his tongue to stop himself revealing he had hurt himself before. It had never been a big deal. Just some icicles erupting through his skin. It had hurt, but his Father had managed to find a way to deal with the injuries, usually giving Kuai a scalding hot bath to encourage the ice to melt. He hadn’t hurt anyone else though, not even his Father or Brother. The thought did make his heart twist a little. He thought back to his Mother. Was it my ice that killed her? His Father had always been vague about what happened, and Bi-Han had not been present. For all Kuai knew, it could have been the case.
“What would you do if you hurt your brother? Or Cyrax?” Hasashi’s question just made him feel worse. As he went to pick another tomato, he could see one of his fingers begin to ice over. He swallowed, breaking the ice and deciding to focus on the work rather than what the Archmage was saying. “Wouldn’t being able to control your powers be worth it for the assurance of their safety?”
“You- You’re trying to guilt me,” Kuai hissed, picking two more tomatoes. He was sheltered, yes, but he wasn’t dumb. He could see what Hasashi was doing.
“I’m trying to make you understand why I am concerned for you.” Hasashi followed after him as he went around to the next row of crops. “I’ve known many mage’s over my time. Some who, like you, have not mastered their powers and it ended in tragedy for them. If there’s a chance I can save you from that misery, I will take it.”
“Why do you care?” Kuai finally looked at him, trying to read his body language. It was hard for him to do so. Hasashi’s stance didn’t particularly give him any clues as to how he was actually feeling.
“Because you clearly need help.” That didn’t answer Kuai’s question if he was being honest. Even if Kuai did need help, how was that any of Hasashi’s concern?
“But-“ Kuai gave a frustrated sigh. He wasn’t going to get a proper answer. Of course he wasn’t. No one ever gives me proper answers.
“But what?” Hasashi questioned, tilting his head.
Kuai hesitated, focusing on picking as he did, before finally saying “I just do not understand why it would be your place to help me.” A glance at Hasashi revealed he was frowning quite deeply at that. “I’m a stranger to you.”
“Are people not allowed to care about strangers?” Hasashi raised an eyebrow.
“In my experience, people don’t care about people they don’t know.” At least, that was the impression he got from the townsfolk. If the way no one had ever really stepped in to help when he was obviously overwhelmed was anything to go by at least.
“I am sorry that is how you’ve experienced the world,” Hasashi once more attempted to reach a hand forward, placing it on Kuai’s shoulder. “I wish someone had taken notice of your struggles sooner.”
Kuai wasn’t sure what to say to that, he was more focused on the hand on his shoulder. He was surprised by how nice it felt. Usually he hated being touched by anyone other than his brother. And given the circumstances, he had every right to hate Hasashi’s touch.
Why does it feel… Okay this time?
“Kuai Liang, I need to ask you a very heavy question, one that I know will upset you greatly, but still one that I would like an honest answer to,” Hasashi softly spoke and despite how kind his tone was, Kuai could feel his magic begin to swell inside him. Once more he returned his attention to the crops. Somehow that was keeping him grounded in this situation. “What will you do when your brother dies?”
Kuai’s head snapped around to him and he couldn’t help the burst of magic from his hand. Glancing at it, he’d ruined a perfectly good tomato by freezing it solid.
“How- How could you ask such a question?” Kuai tried to hold back his tears. The mere suggestion of his brother meeting his demise was despicable.
“I know, I’m sorry that I have to ask such a thing.” In Hasashi’s defence he did look apologetic. “But from what I can see, you are highly dependent on him. I worry about what you would do if you were suddenly alone.”
Kuai turned away, throwing the frozen tomato on the ground. Despite not wanting to think about such a horrible possibility, he still tried to consider it. The truth was… he didn’t know. Their Father’s death had been sudden and unexpected. The only reason the brothers had gotten through it was by having each other. Kuai had felt so terrible leaning so much on his brother when he was also grieving, but Bi-Han always told him that having Kuai to focus on made the grief easier to deal with.
What would I do if Bi-Han wasn’t here?
“I- I don’t know,” Kuai quietly admitted, rubbing his wrist with his hand. “I guess I’d just… find a way to survive.”
He knew how to take care of the farm at least, even if it would be a lot more work with just one person. He knew how to cook so he didn’t have to worry about that. He was sure Cyrax and Tomas would check in with him. The real issue was keeping his powers in check and money. Money in particular. Bi-Han kept him so in the dark regarding their finances, he barely knew how anything related to it worked. He knew they paid rent to the Zhou’s, but had no idea how much, and that wasn’t even considering things like taxes. The only reason he suspected their finances weren’t exactly good was how often they seemed to owe others money.
“What if you were to get married?” Hasashi questioned and Kuai had to do a double take. It was such a weird question, and he almost thought Hasashi was offering. That… can’t be it. The thought made his face feel so hot, and he didn’t know why.
“Why- Why would I get married?” He swallowed, as he watched Hasashi’s face screw up slightly.
“I have heard rumours around the town.” Rumours? What kind of rumours? “That you have caught Sektor’s eye and affections.”
Kuai’s eyes widened and he quickly turned away. He knew Sektor was taken by him, although he could never figure out why. He thought he was the only one who knew, or at least, the only one who saw how Sektor looked at him. The idea this was well known enough for the townsfolk to whisper amongst themselves made him want to crawl into a hole and never face any of them again.
“I- I- I-“ Elder God’s help me. “I wasn’t- wasn’t aware anyone knew of that.”
“So, you are aware of how he feels?” Hasashi seemed surprised by that. Kuai couldn’t blame him for believing him to be that naive.
“It is… hard to not notice.” Kuai felt himself shudder at the thought. Those dark eyes staring him up and down, hungry, starving even. Wanting. Planning how to get what he yearned for. Thinking of all the things he’d do once he got the object of his desires in his grasp. “He looks at me like I am a possession to own.”
The noise Hasashi made was like an animalistic growl. Loud enough that it made Kuai Liang flinch once again.
“Just so you know, that is not what marriage and love are supposed to look like,” Hasashi informed him, and Kuai just nodded. He wasn’t an expert in relationship’s at all, his knowledge coming from observing others. He never saw that possession and obsession in the eyes of the couples around him. It was the only clue he had that the way Sektor looked at him was not normal. “Marriage is a partnership, not an ownership.”
The way Hasashi said that made it sound like he had a lot of experience with the subject. He didn’t appear to have a wedding band on his finger though.
Kuai looked around the field, realising they’d come to a bit of a stop. He still had a lot more work to do. Archmage Hasashi didn’t show any sign of wishing to leave him alone. An idea came to his mind, one that could seem quite bold, but at this point it might test just how serious Hasashi was about talking with Kuai.
“You know, if you insist on staying and talking with me, there is another basket over by the shed.” Kuai pointed towards the building in question, glancing over to see where the basket was visible and leaning against the wall. “Go get it and then get picking.”
When he turned his attention back to Hasashi, his eyes were wide, mouth open slightly, looking completely dumbstruck that such a thing was being asked of him.
“What?” He muttered, his voice flat and as confused as he looked. Kuai giggled at that. He felt weirdly proud that he’d managed to get such a reaction out of the man.
“Well, if you refuse to leave you can at least give me a hand with my work.” He smirked triumphantly as Archmage Hasashi’s mouth opened and closed as he tried to come up with an answer. “So?”
“I-“ Hasashi’s mouth finally quirked upwards into a fond smile. “I’ll go get it.”
He walked past Kuai to navigate the rows of plants, Kuai watching him go. Maybe he was a little foolish to let the man stay. Bi-Han was definitely not going to be happy if he found out.
Kuai could deal with that oncoming storm later, for now, he had an extra pair of hands to help get through his work.
Tumblr media
“How much more do we have left to do?” Hanzo groaned, wiping his face with his sleeve. His robes were really not the optimal clothes to wear for this. They were heavy, hot and kept getting in the way.
“I guess- guess the Archmages don’t do much physical labour,” Kuai said, and despite the slight stutter it was said in a light teasing tone.
Truthfully, this entire afternoon had been incredibly enlightening. Hanzo couldn’t describe how he felt when Kuai had invited him to help. It was such a shock, but once that wore off, Hanzo couldn’t help but see it as progress. Kuai was still clearly on guard, but over the couple of hours they’d been together, Kuai had gotten a lot more comfortable with giving him orders and bossing him around. It was kind of cute, if he was being honest.
“Uh, no, not exactly.” Hanzo huffed, shifting the basket in his hands, now heavy with tomatoes, peppers and chilis. “We do fighting training, but this is a completely different set of muscles.”
The look Kuai gave him indicated he didn’t quite believe that, but honestly that was fine. Kuai had every right to judge him, really. The Archmage did tend to live very cushy and privileged lives.
“You are in luck.” Kuai turned to pick a particularly large chili off the plant. “I think this is the last one.”
“Thank the Elder Gods,” Hanzo breathed out, causing Kuai to giggle.
Kuai gestured for Hanzo to follow him, and he did so without question. They were heading back towards the shed. Hanzo hadn’t really seen much of the farm on his first visit, it was mostly a glance before entering the house. The brother’s had a lot more land than he expected. He wondered how just the two of them managed to keep up with even just the plants, let alone the animals.
“How big is the farm, out of curiosity?” He finally asked, guessing Kuai might at least have an answer for that. “You seem to have a lot more land than I expected.”
“Ah, I’m not sure of the exact size, but…” Kuai screwed his face up slightly. “There’s about 3 crop fields, 2 grazing fields for the animals, the orchard, and the greenhouse.”
“How do the two of you keep track of it all?” He was genuinely curious. Admittedly he was very ignorant to this sort of thing.
“Ah, it really isn’t that much when we’re working together.” Kuai glanced around the field again. “I think watering the plants is the hardest task. The actual picking isn’t too hard.” Maybe for you it isn’t. Hanzo’s back was actually starting to hurt from everything he’d done. “And our animals are very well behaved so looking after them barely feels like work at all.”
“What animals do you have?” He’d seen a few chickens around the place, but he assumed there were more.
“We have a herd of cows, some sheep, a couple of donkeys, chickens and rabbits.” That was a lot more than Hanzo expected. He was relieved Kuai was able to look after them all, to be honest.
“Do they all have names?” By the Elder god’s, did Hanzo feel like such an idiot for asking a question like that.
“Ah.” Kuai hesitated, his face going slightly red. “Yes? Sort of? I mean I name them all, but Bi-Han doesn’t know that.” He turned away as if he were embarrassed. “He thinks it’s a waste of time, but I like it. It feels like I have a bond with them.”
Cute. That was the only word that went through Hanzo’s mind. Absolutely adorable. Despite all the anxiety and fear, there did seem to be a genuinely interesting person underneath. Hanzo could only hope to continue to build the trust between them, and uncover more of who Kuai really was.
They finally came to the shed, and Kuai placed his basket down on a small work table outside. Hanzo followed suit, placing his own next to it. Placing a hand on his chin, Kuai stared down the two baskets as if he was contemplating something. Then, he reached forward, and took hold of two tomatoes. He held one of them out to Hanzo.
“As a thank you for- for your help,” Kuai told him with a smile on his face. Hanzo blinked, he hadn’t expected anything in return for what he’d done, but refusing felt rude.
Also, I am curious about the quality of what they grow.
“Thank you.” He took the tomato off Kuai, rolling it in his hand and observing it. It did look like a particularly juicy one. He watched as Kuai took the one he’d kept and took a big bite of it. Well. I guess I should follow his lead. He took his own bite, granted it was slightly smaller than Kuai's, just wanting to test it. The flavour filled his mouth. “Wow.” He said absentmindedly, before taking another bite. He hadn’t doubted that the brother’s crops would taste good, he just hadn’t anticipated how good. “This is delicious.”
Kuai hummed cheerfully at that, his posture straightening in a way that made him look so proud of his hard work. He clearly had a lot of love for the farm.
And frankly, Hanzo was starting to feel more and more aware just how much he could fuck up the man’s entire life if he wasn’t careful.
The sad truth was, he would probably have to take Kuai back with him for an audience with the head’s of the Archmages. He definitely did not want to bring them here straight away, that’d make things even worse and he doubted any of Kuai or Bi-Han’s boundaries would be taken into consideration. From there, it’d be a matter of working out how training would work. Maybe Hanzo could swing it so that Kuai could be trained here on the farm. It’d probably be the kinder option for him. It was just convincing the others of that.
“Kuai Liang!” The new voice caught Hanzo’s attention. To his relief it wasn’t Bi-Han’s, but the voice still didn’t sound happy. As Hanzo looked in the direction it came from, he saw a man with long silver hair storming towards them.
“Tomas?” Kuai questioned, and finally Hanzo had a face to that particular name. Actually he had seen him around town in the last few days, always seeming to scowl when Hanzo was near. I suppose I know why now.
“Are you okay?” Tomas asked in a hurried tone, taking hold of Kuai as soon as he was close enough. “Has he hurt you?”
“N-No?” Kuai shook his head. “He- he- uh- he helped me gather the c-crops.” Tomas' glare landed on Hanzo, like somehow helping to gather crops was a terrible offence rather than an act of kindness. “Tomas, I- I- asked him- him to help.”
“What?” Tomas turned back to Kuai, voice thick with confusion. “Why would you do that when he upset you so much?” Tomas squeezed Kuai’s shoulders. “Bi-Han’s going to be furious.”
“I-“ Kuai hid his hands behind his back. Hanzo remembered the action from when they first met. He had a suspicion it was an attempt to hide his powers when he was losing control.
Hanzo clicked his tongue, as much as he wanted to stay, maybe it was better to call it a day here. He’d made progress, which is what he was aiming for. His presence in this moment was going to just make things worse, so that was a battle for another day.
“It is not my intention to cause unnecessary stress,” he finally chimed up, trying to ignore the way Tomas’ eyes narrowed at him. He brushed himself down. “I will leave you both to it.” His eyes flicked over to meet Kuai Liang’s, wide with a mix of relief and pleading. “Please think about what we’ve talked about.”
Kuai nodded, bowing his head slightly, “I- I will.”
Hanzo sighed as he turned away, the second he did he could hear Tomas lightly scolding Kuai about how Bi-Han was going to react to this. Kuai was weakly trying to defend himself, but it didn’t sound like it was doing much. Soon however, he was too far away to hear anymore, and back out around the front of the farm. He stopped and looked around again.
If the brother’s had as much land as Hanzo believed, there was at least plenty of space for Kuai to practise. The issue would be finding a qualified Archmage willing to drop everything and spend the time here to train him. Hanzo would do it himself, but he wasn’t qualified to train other Archmages, he could only teach lesser mages. Yet, at least, he was working towards that but still a fair way away.
At that moment, within the order, there were only four people who could. Out of those, Hanzo’s first choice would have been Archmage Raiden. He would have the patience to properly deal with Kuai Liang’s nerves. Archmage Fujin would be his next choice, being Raiden’s younger brother, who shared his qualities. Archmage Cetrion… Well… Hanzo couldn’t remember the last time she took on a student, so unless she was particularly drawn to Kuai Liang’s cryomancy, that was unlikely to happen. Finally, there was Archmage Shinnok, and if Hanzo had any say about it, he would not be anywhere near Kuai Liang. He didn’t know what it was about the man, but he always gave Hanzo the creeps.
And if that was how Hanzo felt, then poor Kuai Liang didn’t stand a chance.
I’m getting a bit ahead of myself though. He still needed to find a way to even persuade Kuai to leave the farm and meet any of them first. He put today down as a win, he was confident that this was the first step in the right direction.
Well… So long as Bi-Han doesn’t put Kuai Liang into a complete lockdown after today.
And it seemed Cyrax was right about Bi-Han not being the only one who cared deeply for Kuai. From their short meeting, Tomas displayed the same protective attitude. At least Cyrax seemed open to Hanzo’s interference, but the fact it was 1 against 2 didn’t fill Hanzo with much confidence. That wasn’t even accounting for Sektor either. If he was obsessed enough with Kuai to have spent years pining for him, it would be unlikely he’d give that up without a fight either.
A chicken sauntered past him, pecking at the ground.
“What do you think I should do?” He asked her, although he wasn’t entirely sure why. I wonder what Kuai Liang named this one? The chicken looked up at him briefly, tilting her head and making a slow clucking sound, before returning to her task of finding food. “Thank you for your input.”
There wasn’t much point in hanging around any longer. He had much to think about and much to plan. As he turned around to return to the town, all he could do now was figure out the next steps in aiding Kuai Liang.

It was a dream come true to live with Jaemin. It was everything from adventurous to tranquil. You found a man you adored and who adored you back. You and your partner were always up to something. The names of your future children, the colours of the bedroom walls of your future house, retirement plans, were decided already. This is how perfect lives appeared right before anything tragic occurred.
Life was perfect just before this evening. Just as you reached back home after what had been a long, draining day for you, all you ever wanted to get yourself together. You turned on the television, quickly switching to the sports channel, your boyfriend Jaemin was racing today, and although your corporate meeting ate up almost half of it, there were still chances of catching him on the TV. He was not the country’s number one for no reason.
Along with the TV, you switched on your phone, which too had been muted for long enough. "24 missed calls" , "146 messages" and although this was rather normal, panic still took over you as you took a glimpse at the screen right in front of your eyes.
"Motorcycle Racer Jaemin Na injured, hospitalized" These letters were presented on the screen in an out-of-place alignment, with no sense of typography or fonts appropriate for the expression of words. You were a professional, but it was not the time to be a jerk about it.
Your hands were trembling, your stomach felt uncomfortable, and your respiration rate was faster than it should have been. You hurriedly dial your phone, mouth still hung open and pessimistic sentiments dominating your thoughts.
"Where’s Jaemin?! what happened to him?!" You yelled out of fear even before the person on the other end could sense your dread.
The news continued to clang with its everyday babble. Could they not come to a halt? This is how the world moved on a pain that wasn’t their own, but to you, it was a matter of your everything.
It took your instincts less than two minutes to respond to the man’s voice. "Jaemin is undergoing surgery right now. We suspect one of the failed breaks caused his bike to lose control. Umm, Ma’am, It’s- It’s a bit serious, we tried to call-"
Your world was collapsing.
You rushed to the hospital without wasting the tiniest fraction of time. Tears were ceaselessly streaming down your cheeks as your hands were fixed to the steering wheel.
-
"You’re gonna be watching right? Don’t tell me you have that stupid meeting again." Jaemin had been whining about this since the morning.
"Jaemin, I have a job." As you finished packing your bag, you pinched his cheeks. He sat at the kitchen counter, his face puffy from waking up, his hair unkempt, and his lips pouty. He was dressed in black and white athleisure, which he received as a gesture from his sponsor label.
"Miss one meeting for me?" He inquired, a small grin spreading across his face, and he squeezed his eyes to add to his allure.
"Miss one race for me?" You smirked as you drew your face closer to his, your gaze locked on his succulent lips. In a split second, he grabbed you by the waist and pressed his lips on yours. His hands hovered over your back and neck, tickling you as they brushed against your sensitive regions. By this time, he had figured out everything. You laughed as you pushed him back. He pretended to be perplexed, his dark eyes gleaming like those of a newborn baby, and his smile remained on his face.
That was the past, and the present was something you did not want to face. The doctors expressly forbade you from entering the room, as you would expect. You took a glance at your lover inside. His body was scarcely visible, dressed entirely in blue hospital garb with red spots. His face was hidden behind a number of different masks and bandages. In front of your eyes, a startling blur of white cloud appeared. You felt lighter in your physique. You had fainted.
-
Sometime later, you found yourself placed on the medical bed, the one they would normally use for minor first aids. You jolted back into your senses and inquired about Jaemin.
"Jaemin’s surgery was successful, there is no need to worry, and yes, you are allowed to go and meet him inside." You were informed. For the first time in the past four hours, you felt like you could finally breathe.
You rushed into his room, he was conscious, eyes still open, as they turned into two little crescents upon your view. He gave you a fragile smile, you knew he would never show his pain to you.
"How many times do I have to tell you to be careful?" You screamed at him, utterly ignoring his kind gestures just seconds before. If there was still a nurse on duty, she may have barred you from visiting patients for the rest of your life.
Jaemin frowned cutely, with a guilty little smirk on his face. "I’m sorry." He sounded weak.
"You mean everything to me, Jaemin! How could you? What would I do without you?!" You raged at him. Immediately realizing your actions, you went closer, seating yourself next to his bed. Some of the machines fluctuated with their lights and sounds.
Jaemin closed his eyes, trying his best to keep them open. "In my next life, I want to come back as a butterfly." His voice expressed faintly. The smile never leaving his lips.
"What nonsense is that? Are of out of your mind? Just- shut up." You said, putting your index finger against your lips, shaking your head countless times. This thought was horrible. No. It was never happening.
"Do you even care about me? You can’t leave me!" You cried. "All you care about is your stupid bike." and you don’t know why you decided to say that.
"Did I ever let that come between us? Did I ever prioritize it over us?" Jaemin questioned, with both his words, and his eyes. "Oh come on!" You looked the other way, still crying.
"What makes you think that Y/N? Do you think I don’t love you?" His words hit you at the heart again.
"I’m not saying you don’t love me Jaemin, but look at where the love of your bike got you today." You implied, coldly.
The machines began to oscillate again, but this time with a loud, persistent beeping. Jaemin fought to breathe, his chest rising up, as the graph lines on one of the screens became increasingly frequent. You screamed, prompting the medics to be in.
They adjusted the oxygen mask back to his face, bringing out the deadly, yet life-saving instruments. You had no idea what they were, but the idea of them being used on your boyfriend's body made you feel sick to your stomach, as if you had to bear the pain.
You sat next to his bed again, weary eyes now shut as sleep took over you. Your hand intervened with Jaemin’s. "Y/N~" His sweet voice, restored to its former glory, was like music to your ears. It was already dawn when you awoke, merely to glance at Jaemin, who seemed a lot better.
"Jaemin.." Words stifled themselves in your mouth, unable to escape. You had no clue what to say, but all you knew was that you needed to wrap your arms around that man, which you did.
His body felt so warm, so comforting, it felt like home. Long embraces had a way of making you cry almost quickly. You rubbed your nose against his ear, your face hovering over his. "Jaemin, I, I’m.."
"You’re sorry?" He asked, earning a nod from you.
"You should be, I don’t like hearing things against my wife." He stated.
"I thought it was me?" You interrogated.
"No it’s my bike. The love of my life." He teased back, roaring with laughter, it was quite rare for a person to be able to do this in less than twenty four hours of a surgery, but he was Jaemin.
"Where did I find this idiot?" You whispered, showering pecks all over his giggly, handsome face.
"You anyway love this idiot."

Chubby Tae trying on a subscription box of lingerie for his boyfriend JK. Wrapping his squishy thighs in lace, squeezing a garter on his waist, his bubble butt soft in silk, and even trying on a corset that makes his tummy squish out of the bottom. JK wanting to EAT HIM UP.
helloo (ôㅈô) 🖤 this request was so complete i didn't know how to develope it when it's already pure gold ! i hope you like my little addition nothenless 👉👈
th has been waiting all morning for the door to ring. it was a tough task since he is definitely not a morning person, but it was worth the tower of pancakes he got to cook in the meantime.
he's glad that at least jk wasn't home when the velvet black box was handed to him, busy with the fake errands th managed to improvise when he remembered today's date: jungkøok's birthday.
the younger has said many times that there's no need of any fancy celebration, and th found that unacceptable. it was quite difficult to keep it as a secret for so long, and even more difficult not to gain too much so the lingerie wouldn't burst before it arrives.
that's why he started with the thighs first, the dark lace flattering the few stretch marks of his inner thigh. he takes the gartner next, not understanding what it really was for and squeezing it on his waist instead. it didn't take long for it to rip from how bloated his tummy is from the big breakfast. maybe he should have stopped at the 9th pancake.
he strips of his boxers to slip in burgundy lace panties, matching with the silky nightgown that doesn't get to cover anything past his bubble butt and flatters his soft pecs. the only thing left is looking at th with doe eyes, scared of its fate after watching the gartner break it half.
he takes the corset and takes it to his waist before sucking in and tying the front strings with difficulty. exhaling in a sigh and relief that it didn't pop.
finally, he takes the sheet cake from the fridge and waddles back to the bedroom to set it all up. maybe taking a handful or two when the sweet smell invades his senses.
it's mesmerizing, how the smell works to make him forget he just ate a generous breakfast for a family of three. and yet, he dives in the cream like a starved pig.
it's not until th hears the front door open when he pulls away, too heavy to move further. he lays on the bed, with the most comfortable pose he can find on his restraints when jk walks in their bedroom.
"babe, wha–"
"happy birthday, bun." th hiccups and reaches down to gropp at his soft lower belly slipping from the bottom of the corset and smirks. "you like what you see?"
jk blinks blankly until he realizes he was asked something. "very much. yes. how– when– how did you fit in that?"
"with the power of love, babe." he tries to sound convincing but he snorts at the end. it helps with the mood and to relax jk into walking towards him. "i'm your present, you have to unwrap me."
th watches as jk's eyes shine with racing thoughts as he inspects his body. taking hold of his soon to be double chin and, with a chaste kiss, leaving th breathless when he says. "i thought you were my cake, 'cause i'm gonna eat you whole," jk states just before he steals a hungry kiss from the olders lips.
the party must began.

just in case some of u can relate
When I was in the *grade edited out*, we got a new student. It was odd, as my school was really small. Her name was Ana. She was beautiful, at least I thought so. She wasn’t beautiful to everyone else, but there was something about her that intrigued me. She was everything I’d ever wanted to be. She was dainty, pretty, quiet, and small. I befriended her quickly, and welcomed her with open arms. At first, it was a miracle. She was so sweet and caring and knowing, she gave me the best advice. She knew everything I needed to know to become who I wanted to be. I wanted to become her. And she wasn’t jealous about it. Life seemed like a dream with her. Anything I needed, she’d help me out with. “Should I buy this shirt?” I would ask her. She would say, “no, it shows too much stomach, you’ll look weird.” I could only think about what an awesome friend she was for being honest with me. “There’s a lot of oil on this pizza,” I would tell her. Without skipping a beat, she would shrug casually, “dab it off. Don’t eat the crust either. Remember, pizza doesn’t even taste that good, you’re just bored.” I would smile back. She was just what I needed. I guess I didn’t even care the way my friends warned me against her. I’ve had toxic friends before, in this day and age, everyone has. But she didn’t feel so toxic. So, I never listened to my friends when they warned me. What did they know anyway? They don’t even know anything about her. Ana was a sweet girl. Why couldn’t anyone see her the way I did?
After a while, Ana got rougher with me. She became ruder and harsher with her replies. It felt like she changed completely. I realized she was exactly who people said she was. And in typical impulsive fashion, that only intrigued me more. It caused me to get even closer to her, leading her to have an iron grip on me and my life. I barely controlled anything I did anymore; it scared me. I knew I should have cut her off, but I would only do it once push came to shove. It only got worse from there. She got so much worse, she was so mean. But I kept her close. Oddly enough, I found comfort in her. She understood what she was doing to me. And that should have made it so much worse, but for once, someone understood. We became inseparable. She was with me everywhere I went. She was in my thoughts every time I did anything. Every meal I ate, every shirt I bought, every conversation I had. She controlled all of them. Everything I did was just for an ounce of her validation. As long as she approved, it was okay. It was no longer a friendship of vanity or happiness, but one of identity. She became an identity for me. I could always run back to her no matter what I did. I could always find comfort in her. She was like a mother, she might scold me, but she still loved me. It was at her peak when I abandoned her. Enough became enough, and as the buds became flowers, and spring break became graduation, I drifted from her. I isolated myself from her for weeks, and it was hell. All I wanted was her validation. Seeing anything that reminded me even a little of her ruined my mood for the day. I missed her so desperately, I felt lost without her. It felt like my personality had been stolen away from me. But that was only because I had made her my personality. Over time, I escaped her. I still look at photos of us and think “why?” That question was all I could think. “Why?” was short for countless questions. Why did she have to be so mean? Why’d I get so attached after such a short period of time? Why did she do what she did? Why
did I let her? It wasn’t till long after I had distanced myself from her until I found out many of my friends had dealt with her. The same ones who warned me against her. I realized I should have listened to them before it was too late. But it was too late. She had gotten to me. But that isn’t even what hurts the most. What hurt the most was when she got to my other friends. I’d warned them about what a mean girl she was. They didn’t listen. What hurt was the way they ignored me, certain that I didn’t know anything, and that I wouldn’t understand. What hurt is the fact that people like that are out there, and there’s nothing I can do about it. More people were willing to help me then I first realized, so I made it my priority to help others stuck like me.
some notes: it’s smtb I turn in for my CCW, so Ana is a metaphor/symbol for anorexia. I’m atypical. Couldn’t get into too much detail abt it bc the school can send complaints, but basically getting it, recovering, and pretending I didn’t relapse.

Made an interview skit with Fluffster! (Just to expand leaves more)
Tumblr media
(read under the cut)
Interview Fluffster!
Have time for an interview?
"Oh an interview? Well I am on break so I have enough time for one."
Starts Interview
Who are you?
"Um.. My name is Fluffster Sparkleston, and I study the Bugsnax and how they interact with their ecosystems from their behaviors, physical characteristics, and how we grumpuses impact their habitat." (They claps their sleeves together happily as they said that)
➡️ Oh! So like an entomologist?
(Looks at the journalist questionably) "No??? I don't think so???? Entomologists are grumpuses that study insects in the branch of zoology. I'm a certified zoologist... I guess."
I see, apologies. Why come to Snaktooth?
(Looks down and shuffles leaves feet) "Well...um... Some famous guest coming to visit the campus and she came to me and a few of my *ahem* "colleagues" and told us about this big trip to the island, then she gave us a card and told us to give her a call. They all thought it was all a scam or a big joke but I thought different and decided to give her a call."
➡️ Thought different? How so?
"Well, the concept of creatures that are half-bug and half-snax sounds very unrealistic in common sense. But I kept thinking to myself "What if there more species beyond the average common animals we all see? Could there be a possibility of new life beyond our land" You really don't get a chance in finding new variety of animals, so the thought of different breeds on an isolated location have to be something worth knowing- Ah! Sorry about the ramble."
No worries! Thoughts on Bugsnax?
"Oh them. Well by physical appearance they look cute and has big eyes like I do, and when consumed it changes the consumer's body parts into the snax they ate, Floofty called it snakification. And by my personal observations I came to an inference that Bugsnax are just like regular old bugs but that when through periods of evolution due to the isolation that went through on the island, whatever chemicals that come from this place must have affected their DNA in a way that it also affected them physically!"
Why did you leave town?
"It's not like I even left at all but it's more like I couldn't go back. I was still in Sugarpine Woods stuck on top of ledge of one of the mountains cause I wanted to get a closer look at a Cinnasnail, fortunately I was able to find a cave system and decided to camp in there. Then Snorpy and Chandlo found me and Snorpy gave me a ladder if I wanted to get down."
➡️ Why couldn't you use it sooner?
(Glares a bit at the journalist) "Well I like to see you try to get down from a height that could give you serious damage!"
➡️ You mentioned earlier that you couldn't go back to town. Did you left when the fight was happening or after it happened?
"Hmm... It was when it was happenimg. Having two friends fight each other was bad enough but the whole having to fight was just too much! Especially when the number of your group is an odd number, someone gotta be used as the second opinion. I didn't want to be used like that again so I left for the woods and stayed at the mountain cave. I did had plans on coming back but when the earthquake happened it was best for me to stay there."
Any info on Lizbert?
"Info on Lizbert? Well she's gray, she's 6'10", she wears a pink scarf and a brown hat, she's in a relationship with Eggabell, she's in her late-20s, she has a chip on her tooth, we both chatted now and then whenever she had the time to see my research, and she was the one who came to my campus as the famous guest!"
➡️ But any info on her disappearance?
"Ohhhh that! From what I've heard she and Eggabell had an argument about something and they both left together. I assume they both got kidnapped and being held for hostage but we just hadn't got the note yet but that's just a theory."
Okay, well thanks anyway Fluffster! Guess your break is over now.
"Yeah, time really does fly when you do these things. But wait! Before I go I want you to have the ladder, if you're at any place above ground level that should come in handy."
(Fluffster has given you the retractable rooe ladder)

Okay! That’s really kind of you! Take your time - you can even just do this whenever you next open up ship requests, I’m in no hurry 😊 Can I request a Stranger Things ship? 💗
I’m 5’2 with wavy ombré hair, blue eyes. I’ve always loved vintage/1920s avante garde style. I never got into makeup personally but I love doing hair, especially my Gran’s hair (usually too lazy to do my own hair, though, lol)..
My pronouns; She/Her, I’m straight and I’m 19.
My personality is pretty relaxed. Somewhere between an introvert and extrovert cause while I like to be alone, I can rant and tell stories for hours.
Hotheaded but I sometimes deny it, and pretty tough, adaptable. Fiery.
While I can talk about stuff I heard about/saw for hours, I’m pretty private when it comes to myself and don’t open up unless I’m comfortable with the person.
I’ve never been academic and prefer to do things with my hands.
Love spending time with my family and friends. Love music, especially rhythmic music. I like to just relax and eat good food, and I cook a ton.
My love languages probably acts of service and gift-giving from me but I love physical touch, and I’m a big hugger.  I’ve no idea what kinda vibe I give off or who I’ll be shipped with, lol.
No rush at all 💛 I love your writing sm, btw! So many cool fandoms!
Thank you so much for requesting the matchup! Haven't done a Stranger Things one in a long while! I hope you enjoy it! <3333

Steve Harrington:
Tumblr media
🍦 You met Steve when you were wondering the StarCourt Mall after doing some shopping for new cassettes, but now you were hungry and that's when you spotted Scoops Ahoy
🍦 Looking at the menu above the counter of ice cream, you didn't notice Steve until he turned around and said his line, "Ahoy there, my lady, what can I get ya?"; all you could think about was how cute the guy in front of you was
🍦 You ordered your favorite flavor, trying not to stare too long at Steve, finding him pretty attractive, and funny, as he skillfully scooped the ice cream in a cone for you; you tried to pay but Steve said it was on the house
🍦 For the next couple of weeks, you went over and got your usual at Scoops, chatting with Steve before having to leave because you were holding up the line; after a while of visiting and getting to know each other slightly, Steve asked for your number
🍦 And that's how you met Steve, now a year into your friendship/relationship, you and Steve are attached to the hip; your first date with Steve 'The Hair' Harrington, was actually during his break at Scoops, where the two of you ate ice cream and sat in a booth in the corner, just chatting and enjoy each other's company
🍦 Steve really, really liked you, a lot really, he hadn't felt like this since Nancy, so that's saying something; though, Steve made a promise to himself, that he'd make the relationship with you work, he didn't want to lose you
🍦 Steve found you brilliant, funny, strong, a bit hot-headed (but you deny it), and he really likes you, he might even love you; you always bring a smile to his face, not matter how he's feeling, you really changed him and his life for the better
🍦 You found Steve incredibly handsome, funny, charming, smart, and such a gentleman, him always opening doors for you and offering his jacket to you if it's cold out; he never even stopped your ranting when you did rant, he didn't seemed bored when you spoke of your many interests, and seemed like he was really paying attention and listening; it made your heart swoon
🍦 Once the two of you got more used to each other and more comfortable, the two of you would do anything and everything together, going to places to eat good foods, listening and dancing to music together, cooking together, cuddling while watching a movie, and Steve even let you do his hair one time, which says a lot
🍦 You and Steve are certainly the most perfect match, you both bring out the best in one another, and not even the Upside Down can tear the two of you apart

Steve And Holly (since nobody has every made a fanfic abt these two)
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚ ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
The Wheeler Family were going to dinner but they didn’t want to bring Holly. Nancy had a person in mind that had experience with kids before. Steve! “Mom, Dad! I’m going to family video! And I’m bringing Holly.” Nancy shouted, leaving with Holly. “Okay sweetie! Don’t be out to late, Remember we have dinner!” Karen yelled from upstairs. A few minutes of driving and they were at family video. Nancy had burst through the door, making Steve jump a bit.
“Holy Shit! What the hell? Nancy?” Steve looked at Nancy, confused. “Hi Steve! Is it possible if you can babysit My sis-“ “No! The answer is no! It’s my break off and I’m not dealing with kids.” Steve interrupted her. Nancy pouted. “Cmon Steve! Holly won’t cause any trouble I promise you and plus my family is going out for dinner and need someone to babysit Holly.” Steve looked at Holly, giving in. Steve groaned. “Ughh. Fine, Just let me get in your car so I can take care of her at your home.”
A few more minutes of driving and when Nancy had gotten there, Her family was already leaving. “Well, looks like you guys have the house all to yourself.” Nancy stated, looking at the both of them. “Make sure not to burn the house down!” Nancy said while getting in her fathers car with Karen and Mike. “We won’t!” Steve said. They waved goodbye and Steve and Holly went into the house.
“So, Uhm? Kid, what do you wanna do?” Holly looked at Steve for a while before answering his question. “Can we watch TV?” Steve looked around for the remote, Until he found it, He grabbed it and flipped to the channels. “What do you want to watch?” Holly squinted at the TV, getting closer until her nose was touching the screen. “Woah, Be careful! Your going to go blind if you do that.” Steve dragged her back to the couch where the TV wasn’t really quite in her face. Holly pouted. “Actually, can we watch My little pony?” Steve flipped to the channel. “There you go.” Steve was a bit hungry and he sure Holly was too. “Holly want some pizza or anything?” Holly had to think hard about that question. But she answered pizza. “Okay, What toppings do you want?” Holly had to also think about that really hard. “Pineapple!” Steve looked at her in disgust. “What? What’s wrong with pineapple?” Holly noticed the face Steve made. “Something wrong? The hair?” “The hair? Who told you to name me that?!” Steve was shocked. “Oh my sister says that’s basically your name, are we going to order this pizza or not?”
Steve was still shocked on what Holly named him. A hour passes by, the pizza is delivered. Steve sets the pizza on the table that was in front of the TV. “We need to wait a bit, since I don’t want to get blamed for you getting burned. Got it?” Holly Nodded and had continued to watch her show. A few seconds gone by. “Alright Holly, We can eat now.” Holly smiled being exited to finally eat something other than the cereal she ate this morning. After they were finished they had decided to watch a movie. Steve checked his watch. “Listen Holly it’s almost time for bed.” Holly looked sad. “What’s wrong?” Steve looked at Holly being concerned.
“I have nightmares and they are really scary.” Steve had been there before. Steve sighed and told Holly “How about you sleep with me tonight? Hm?” Holly smiled then hugged Steve’s “Thank you! Uhm.. Mr Harrington?” Steve had laughed “Yknow you could just call me Steve right?” Holly smiled. “Thank you Steve!” After a bit while Holly was laying on Steve she had fallen asleep and so had Steve. When Nancy, Mike, Ted, And Karen came home they were surprised at the fact. “See mom, I told you he was good with kids.
(First time writing a story so let me know how I did!)

SPRING BREAK OF 85’
The sun was high in the sky, beating down on everything in its wake, baking what wasn’t under a shady tree. Not even a breeze flowed through the park. It was a quiet, yet busy day to be at the park. But, this was where they planned to hang out, and no one objected to it earlier when they made plans over their wanky walkie talkies. At least, there was a park for skates, skateboards, bikes, scooters, ect, if they ever actually got bored.
One by one, the six of them showed up. First, Will. After, Mike and El. Following, Dustin. Then, Lucas, all five riding their bikes. Finally, Max, who rode her skateboard.
As Max propelled herself forward, just a few yards away from the group, who already claimed their spot under a massive tree littered with leaves and branches for shade. The first person to tease Max about being late, again, was definitely going to get a flick to the nose. When she finally reached them, she stomped her foot on one edge, causing the other side to erupt up, and she caught the other end with ease. She plopped down in her place among the disorganized group and nonchalantly asked, “So, what are you losers doing?”
Dustin, who was fiddling with a new gadget he swore could talk to aliens, looked too preoccupied to answer her question while Lucas was arguing with Will about their latest DND session. She wondered if they ever took a break from the fantasy game, but then again, she never really outgrew her love for comic books, so she stayed out of their heated debate. El immediately answered her, more eager than she anticipated, “Waiting, to hang out. Like we planned.”
Mike nodded and spoke towards the boys, before Max could, “And who’s idea was it to come out here? In this horrible, horrible, mind if I add another horrible weather. I’m melting in my own skin.” He lifted his arms to expose his pits, and Max and El were instantly disgusted, turning their heads away. Eventually, El gazed back at Mike, putting her hand on his shoulder and shook her head.
Dustin shook off the not so subtle comment as he replied, still messing with his make-shift radio, “Well the last time we hung out at someone’s house, he kicked us out for wanting to study so yeah, I picked a public spot this time.”
Max let out a hearty chuckle that brought Lucas and Will into the conversation. Will stated, “You know this isn’t the only public spot we could have met up at.” And Lucas and Max nodded in agreement. Lucas even pointed dramatically at Will, more so at what he said, as if that were going to rally everyone into moving to a cooler place, maybe even indoors.
“Yeah, why didn’t you think of the mall?” Max added to Will’s argument, and everyone started the chime in their thoughts and opinions. The uproar would have caused any by standing pedestrians to stop and wonder if they were doing a protest of some sort.
Dustin rolled his eyes as he continued to work in his gadget, unbothered. Mike had his hand in a candy bag with the logo Sour Patch, plucking a green and a yellow gummy into his mouth. Right after the rustling of plastic hit the teens ears, all at once Lucas and Max wanted Mike to share. Lucas asked politely while Max stuck out her hand, not bothering to waste his and her time with a silly question. Mike reluctantly poured a few into their hands, and the pair backed off as they ate their share of sour gummies. As she ate her candy, she couldn’t remember the last time they all hung out like this, and it wasn’t over saving the world.
Mike pulled out the last two gummies, and instead of eating it, he silently offered them to El, accompanied with the cheesiest pick up line he probably ever could think of where only her ears could hear, “Is there a mirror in your pants because I see myself in them?” El bursted with a giggle.
It wasn’t every day Mike told her a joke, and lately whenever El found something new that was intriguing and something worth telling someone, she’d tell Max. Her confidant, her secret-bearer. Immediately after El took Mike’s offer, she turned to Max and recited the joke proudly with the gummies in her palm, offering them to the redhead, “Is there a mirror in your pants because I see myself in them?”
Too stunned to speak at first, Max’s mouth gaped as the corner of her lips perked up, scanning the groups reaction. Will was going to speak up, but the back of Lucas’s hand hit Will’s chest to stop him, as if he were saying ‘let her figure this one out.’ Mike was horrified, and Dustin was just as stocked as Max was. After a few seconds, the auburn haired girl chuckled and responded, “That is the dumbest pick up line I’ve ever heard, but it was pretty funny.” Then took the candy from El and ate it.
Mike, dumbfounded by the entire exchange, looked at the boys and scratched his head as they shrugged in return.

Chapter 7: Puzzle pieces, part 2
They put their trays on the opposite sides of the table, Choerry brazenly sitting on it, throwing her legs to the other side, before sheepishly looking around to see if anyone paid attention. Chuu jokingly tutted, smiling, but didn’t think about it twice, sitting down.
She got some tea for herself, along with a couple sandwiches - she wasn't hungry yet, but who knew when she would be able to eat next time this break? Choerry, on the other hand, had a full dinner on her tray and a large cup of coffee.
They ate in silence, listening to the international news broadcasted on several monitors hanging around the room. Plot about an exhibition of Rudalph Justo held in Milaw, a famous surrealist painter and photographer, whose works were rarely shown, ended as she began chewing her last sandwich.
Next, a hot new sensation, that the presenter plastered on a serene expression for, clasping hands on the table, - a cruise ship called Tethys mysteriously disappeared in the Gaftlou sea. “Disappeared”. Its mayday message barely got out the position they were in before cutting short, leaving initial reasons of distress call unknown. Rescue airships and boats arrived as fast as it was possible at its estimated location, but found no signs of Tethys, almost no debris, and not a single survivor.
More than the mystery of the causes behind this, the plot revolved around describing the list of politically prominent or just otherwise influential people who were on Tethys.
The catastrophe itself happened in the most north part of Gaftlou Sea after it left the waters of the Bottoranean Sea, far from the nearest land and, more importantly, on the edge on an undefined line where the Moebius Lake started. The rescue airship and search brigades, both water and air-operating ones, were there as soon as possible, combing for any survivors or clues as to what had happened, working so quickly, that in two hours there was a solid wall scanning both air and water.
But nothing. Not a single survivor or body, boat or submarine.
Needless to say, as much as it was most (but still not very much) likely there was something from the Moebius Lake responsible for that, the situation was getting exceptionally politically tense.
After another minute of mournfully describing the beauty and engineering might that was Tethys, fulfilling the quota of both empathizing political loss and and attempt to make ordinary people care about it in conjunction with loss of the ship and other passengers, news moved to riots in Neta Bolgad and Chuu lost interest.
She sipped her tea, musing aloud. “Would Sea Hunters be called to assist on this or?..”
Choerry shook her head, somewhat uncertainly. “Really depends. Not all Sea Hunters are… interested in such work. Once man-caused reasons would be ruled out, they are more likely to look into it, otherwise, doubtful - not their field of work. Discovery and research - yes, investigations - nah. While Sea Hunters usually don’t ignore a newly discovered shipwreck if they stumble upon it, they have a lot of other things to do. Preliminary inspection of a recently sunken ship isn’t one of them. There is a lot of underwater, much more than there is land.” Choerry shook her head, this time dejectedly. “You don’t really know how much it really is, until you spend your time with a Sea Hunter for a month or two.”
“Aren’t there sea plants for you to discover?”
“Not at that depth and I am more keen on working on overwater flora.” Choerry took the remains of the bread and used it to gather the leftovers from the plate. “There is one Sea Hunter, who is interested in untangling mysteriously lost ships, but this one,” she pointed at the screen that was playing a short phone-recorded clip of the riot, “is thirty years too young to catch their attention.”
Makes sense, Chuu supposed.
She took another sip. “Guesses?”
“Hmmm… Someone indebted to a young mafia family - or loyal to one - enough for a suicidal mission? Some sort of personal debt or grudge?” Choerry pushed an empty plate away from her, taking her cup of coffee off the tray. “Or, perhaps, someone made a really intense covenant,” she said less legibly, momentarily widening her eyes for emphasis, as she dumped two sticks of sugar into her cup.
Pressing her forehead to the window, Chuu stared at the densely gleaming city they were sailing over, her hand pressing the phone to her chest.
What would she tell Yves and Go Won? What should she tell Yves and Go Won?
She hadn’t done anything incriminating to think of forgoing the message entirely, not yet, at least, but the joy they will have over the possibility of her gaining new friends was overshadowed by her own worry and conflicting emotions. She already basically took HeeJin and HyunJin under her wing, she accepted that, but she never has been in a situation like this before. Was it possible to be friends with them but more of an acquaintance with Choerry? Or was it a package deal? Chuu herself was more or less slotted in the group at eleven which made them her friends by default. The previous friendships she had kinda dwindled down after that - either they grew distant or died.
It wasn’t even like she was constantly worried. Just… more taxing then usual.
Sadly, Chuu couldn’t even fully root her distrust of Choerry in a potential of danger to their squad - even if that was a very legitimate worry, with apparent Crime Hunter attached to the girl - but for the most part it was a recent barrier. Could two years still be classified as recent or?..
She grimaced, closing her eyes. At times like this, Chuu thought, she disliked being the most emotionally aware between the three of them.
Despite her current indecision, she needed to leave a message. Who knows when she will get another chance? Chuu knew they were fine, but they might worry whether she was okay or not, being in the same vicinity as Hisoka. They didn’t know of anything else yet which looped her thoughts back on the issue at hand. Should they?..
Chuu sighed. Just... A quick message and then sleep. She would keep it short - this day both took and gave more than she expected. She opened Pestercard and pressed on a record prompt, holding it for a few moments. Chuu took a deep breath and forcibly smiled, letting the button go.
“Hi~! I am currently on an airship, heading towards the third phase. You would not believe how eventful this day was! The Exam is going well so far, some weirdos present, as expected, but also, hey, I found maybe three new friends?.. Two for sure, the third is a question mark?” ending the question on an uncertain note, she grimaced as if they could see her. “It’s complicated. The first phase was stamina-oriented, we had to run a marathon, the second one,” Chuu sighed, taking a pause. ”Second one was a mess, starting with cooking and ending with jumping down the ravine. I nearly poisoned our examiners, ugh,” she dragged a hand down her face. ”Can you imagine the Gardener's face if that happened?.. Other than that, it was not all that bad. Hope your mission is going well, keep safe, eat well! Love you! Mvah~!”
Choerry dialed the first number and stood, waiting. Since the majority of the applicants were already sleeping, the halls were empty, the only stragglers far and few between, mostly on the floor over her, where their resting quarters were. The rooms were expected to house much less people further down the line, on the last one or two stages, and were currently packed with occupants lining up walls and huddled in groups on the floor.
She listened to the beeps, looking at the stars. Choerry slowly rolled from balls of her feet to tiptoes and then back. After a while, an autoresponder offered to leave a message.
She ended her call and went to voicemail in Pestercard, clearing her throat.
“Hello! Exam is a lot more fun than you told me, traitors! I now have new friends, three girls my age! They are very nice and doing their best and it would be great if you were able to meet them! Two stages have already passed, a marathon test and then a test from Gourmet Hunters! Gourmets were Menchi and Buhara, have you heard of them? The other one was called Satotz, I don’t know his specialty, but he is violet and very classy. And walks funny! He made us run for hours! First in a tunnel, then up the stairs, then through a swamp. Fog was extra thick and it was swarming with many hostile creatures and plants! Two of my friends got lost but found their way back to the group… Though Chuu and I returned and followed them for a bit to be safe! Afterwards we had to cook a pig to be tested by, you know, gourmets, and it was a complete disaster. They can't cook, so many people just roasted them as-is and Menchi got angrier and angrier with each one! I didn’t even get my turn, she declared that the phase ended with everyone failing. Since she failed everyone because she was throwing a fit and not for any solid reason, Chairman Netero had to intervene and we got to do another test! It was jumping into the ravine to get spider-eagle eggs, they were so delicious, you should try one someday! Um, what else?.. Oh, right, it took me so long to cook my dish because my initial one got ruined by other examinee. I planned to pay him back after the phase, but then I got failed, got angry, kinda forgot about him and then he died in the ravine.” She sighed, then frowned and added to herself in a quieter voice. “Speaking of, I should throw away those berries.” Choerry leaned against the window, eyeing the river they flew above, before returning to the message. “So! Our examiners are what you would’ve expected, but there are enough of the weird applicants too! There is one covered in pins and the other one looks like a jester and just drips bloodlust everywhere. My new friend, Chuu, said that the second one was disqualified last year after nearly killing an examiner. The difference in levels of applicants this year is crazy.” She paused, mulling over what else there was interesting that day. “We are currently on an airship, heading towards the third phase. We get a night to rest - and eat, however dinner obviously paled compared to spider-eagle eggs - so I'm going to end here and go! Have fun!”
She hung up and selected another number, this time immediately going for Pestercard, keeping the message short.
“Wow, you dirty, sneaky, filthy liar! Hunter Exam is so boring, you said, no challenges at all, you said, examinees are soooooo weak, you said. Liar! Fool! And a loser! Guess who is having fun and making friends! So much is going on here, I pity you and your exam year,” Choerry poured all dramatism she had in that last phrase, throwing hand over her forehead for complete effect. After a several seconds long pause she broke into giggles. “Have a lot to tell you when we meet next time, so just you wait! Hope you are having fun! See you later!”
Since the third one of her best friends already explicitly told her she was not to be contacted for a while, at all, she left no message. By nature of her job, Kim Lip had periods of time where she went completely silent. She was used to it. In fact, Choerry was the most contact-ready, compared to them, unavailable only in places without coverage or when invited to accompany one of them on serious jobs which was not that often.
With her last call she immediately went to voicemail, since it would be a late night at home, her cousin already sleeping, and, as soon as she heard the prerecorded message, Choerry felt a fond smile growing on her face.
"Hello, Yerim! I’m currently on an airship, flying towards the next stage of the exam. I already passed two stages! The first one had a lot of running, hours and hours of running. For a while it was just the tunnel, then stairs, can you imagine running half an hour on stairs? Yerim, who even needs such long stairs?!" Choerry unconsciously started gesturing at this point. "Then we had a fifteen-minute pause. Then more running! This time through a swamp. Speaking of, I also have new friends! They are mostly my age too and very friendly! You would love them! I will be sure to bring them home at some point!.. A lot of other examinees are strange though." The girl briefly frowned, but began smiling again almost instantly. "The second stage was cooking! We had to catch a pig and cook it adequately for a gourmet to accept. I thought it was easy until some idiot applicants angered one of the examiners by dismissing their occupation. And then they roasted their pigs whole, Yerim! It looked unappetizing! And presented them to a gourmet! A true disaster!" She turned her back to the window, leaning against the windowsill, and eyed her shoes and feet that she just cleaned from dried mud. "So, in general, I’m having a lot of fun and generally out of the harm’s way. I will go rest now. Hope you are doing well, too! Hear from you soon! Bye!"
Her first conscious thought as she was being shaken awake, was that her body was murdering her. Had she ever felt so thoroughly pushed through a meat grinder? No, definitely no. Unless this was the case with brain blocking especially painful experiences, in which case she did not want to know.
It was an experience beyond her soreness. Before HeeJin knew what was going on, her sable was halfway unsheathed and she was hissing from pain in Choerry’s face. That was when she caught up with the message her muscles sent and also realized she was nudged awake by her friend, not somebody else.
The girl was not offended at that, thankfully, and held out an unscrewed bottle of water, instead of asking anything. At that moment HeeJin understood that she was blessed by befriending a literal angel.
Miracle of her being able to get anywhere on her own merit was also called Choerry. She silently watched as HeeJin slowly stood, holding onto the wall for her life, before hurrying out the man who had the privilege of occupying the bed that night since he arrived at the room first (throwing out, her subconscious corrected - when man smirked in refusal, the girl carried him bridal-stile to the door and threw him there, a scene so weird, HeeJin wasn’t sure she hadn’t dreamed it up). She wasn’t clear, why, but then Choerry swept her off her feet, carried her to the bed and gave her the fastest and most brutal massage session she ever experienced. Choerry was good, don’t get her wrong, HeeJin was just unprepared for the assault on her tense muscles.
A unique morning for sure.
Feeling almost human, she visited showers which she was too exhausted for the previous day. She wasn’t the only one there, the other being a woman she was pretty sure she remembered carrying a sniper rifle, and HeeJin hadn’t looked up once when she couldn’t inconspicuously face the other way from her. She removed her lenses and mascara off of her moles before the shower, leaving her pretty recognizable. HeeJin carefully wasted time, silently beginning the woman to be reasonable about time left before landing and leave first. Luckily, she did.
HeeJin was hastily towel-drying her hair as she was jumping into her spare clothes, when an announcement was made about a slight delay for an hour or so, causing her inwardly howl in joy.
Humming from boosted mood, shifting her previous outfit from washing machine into drying one, hoping that it would be ready by the time they got to the next phase and she wouldn’t have to put it in her backpack while still damp.
At breakfast she sat to the other girls, feeling as best as she could in these circumstances. As they were expected to already reach their destination, the majority of the people already finished their meals and left, leaving the room not as crowded as it must have been. The international channel turned on at the dining hall was of little interest to her, disasters and thievery not something she looked into (and even so, there were better sources for news than, well, news, that one she learned young), allowing her to focus on an unhurried conversation as she ate.
Chuu and Choerry were already done with their food when they reached the most predictable topic.
“So, why are you taking the Exam?” addressed Choerry them brightly. “I already can guess Chuu’s reasoning, but what about you two?”
She could? Ah, right, they got to talk when she crashed. She slowly stirred sugar in her tea. What was a most positive way to frame her reasoning?..
The table lapsed into silence.
“Okay, got it, too personal,” said Choerry in the same upbeat manner. “So what do you think of our examiners?”
HeeJin quickly shook her head. “No, no! I mean, yes, but, I was just choosing the phrasing, just give me a second...” she clasped her hands in front of her, staring at her fiddling thumbs. Truth or omission, truth or omission?..
HyunJin looked up from her second serving of omelette with personalized toppings. “I want access to information only Hunters get,” she said.
“Just information?” raised her eyebrows Choerry. “Not benefits or opportunities?”
“No. I am looking for an answer… There was an unnatural event near my town and I want to know what happened there,” said HyunJin, gathering the last bits of her breakfast.
“How unnatural?” asked Chuu.
HyunJin chewed, looking at her spoon with half-lidded eyes, before putting cutlery away with a finality. “Supernatural.”
Choerry hummed. “Then it is a great position to look for the explanation.”
HyunJin nodded sagely, biting off half of the bun.
Well, if they weren't the prying type… “I need a document.”
Three pairs of eyes stared at her unreadably.
“An identification, recognizable as official around the world,” she hurriedly added, her fingers fidgeting under the table. Should have she said it was for legal protection? Or else, lied completely?
Something flashed in Choerry’s eyes and she lifted her chin in understanding. “How many fields have you filled on an application form?”
HeeJin's jaw went slack for a moment before tensing til her teeth hurt. Was she too conspicuous?
Before she could form an answer, Choerry closed her eyes, raising both open palms, nodding regally. “I have no idea of the specifics, but you’re fine. You are well-behaved and clearly indulged, but that’s not too noticeable,” she waved her hand pacifyingly.
HeeJin did not feel like she was fine, she felt like she should shave off her hair after the exam, instead of just shortening it. Should she pretend to be a boy for a while? Her voice was sufficiently deep, that might work if she didn't talk much…
More importantly, had she made a mistake not having a full disguise for the exam?!
“You are really pretty, but not memorable enough, relax,” said Chuu, as if reading her thoughts, probably seeing the building panic on her face. She smiled reassuringly, pushing HeeJin’s cup of tea closer to her before turning to Choerry, switching the topic. “And what is your guess about me?”
“Benefits,” stated Choerry as HeeJin clasped the cup for stability. “You could’ve gotten information from your friends that already passed. And you told me you weren’t after the Hunter lifestyle.”
Chuu leaned back on one arm, thoughtfully eyeing Choerry. “You aren’t against that? I will be using my Hunter title for whatever I fancy at the moment.”
“No,” Choerry gave her thumbs up. “I do not care what you do with your license. Being Hunter is different from getting a license. You aren’t a Hunter just because you got a piece of plastic, there is more to it. You can do whatever you want with the benefits!”
Chuu slowly nodded, seemingly deep in thought.
“And you?” HeeJin turned to Choerry, shifting conversation to the only unknown.
Choerry smiled so brightly, HeeJin’s worries almost completely evaporated. Almost.
After more than an hour later, in which she even got to make a full set of her stretches, getting a chance to show off her split done with one leg on the backpack for extra angle, they finally saw their destination in the distance. When HeeJin looked in the window, she was clearheaded enough to come to two conclusions.
First, that tower was incredibly tall, the top of it lost in the low clouds.
Second, that came as a startling realization after the first one, amplifying it, - it was wide.
To land on top of, the dirigible steered upward and HeeJin watched in anticipation as the tower grew and grew, approaching.
She was still a bit dazed by the fact that she was stepping on a real-life Babylonian tower, when she got out of an airship. By Choerry’s estimation (HeeJin's distance guessing was spotty at best), it was almost two kilometers in diameter and, after hearing that, she decided not to think about its height.
It was cold, but not as windy as she feared. The tower was built out of large concrete slabs, both the platform and its completely vertical, cylinder-shaped base.
When all of them got out and initial rhetorical murmurs died down, Beans cleared his throat.
“We are at the top of Trick Tower. This is where you enter the third phase. As for the test itself, the examiners have informed me that you have seventy-two hours to reach its base alive.”
Seemed… reasonable, unless they expected them to climb on the outer walls. She hoped that was not the case as she watched nearby clouds.
The dirigible rose into the air and the loudspeaker turned on, loud enough to be heard through rotary wings and barely working, at that moment, turbines.
“Begin your descents! Good luck to all of you!”
Slowly, the crowd started ambling in different ways, the forty-six of them soon to be barely seen on the expanse of this platform. HeeJin did a quick head count, as they walked away. Frowned, stopping. Counted again.
“Something happened?” asked HyunJin, Chuu and Choerry hopping in a different direction, almost racing to the edge.
“There were forty-six examinees passing the second phase, weren’t there?” No, she was right the first time. Weird.
“Yes,” HyunJin cocked her head in confusion, also looking at the wandering applicants.
“There are only forty-four now,” slowly said HeeJin. “I did count us.” HyunJin blinked in puzzlement and her eyes began jumping from person to person, checking for herself. “We lost two people somewhere.”
“Huh. Weird,” seconded her thoughts HyunJin.
Silence wrapped them again. They slowly walked towards the edge of the tower, more to get away from other applicants than to approach it. Time limit was strictly set, examinees having only seventy-two hours, but HeeJin desperately wanted to delay facing the dangers below these slabs, even if just for a few minutes, and HyunJin seemed to be indulging her for a while, until she decided that “enough” was “enough”.
HyunJin shook off a slightly melancholic mien she had, looking to the edge of the tower and facing her. “Do you think the secret doors are just scattered wherever?”
“Probably,” agreed HeeJin. It was the only logical conclusion of what an entrance looked like - trapdoors, hidden in the smaller rectangular slabs. She turned around and squinted, trying to see what other people were doing, but they were scattered way too far for her to see clearly. “We should search for ours. Unless you want to look off the edge?” she noticed two familiar figures running towards them and waved her arm to show that they were noticed.
“I’ll pass,” said HyunJin. “Don’t trust the possible wind there.”
“Ah,” lowered her arm HeeJin, turning to the girl. “You’re right. I was hesitating since yesterday's ravine - not looking forward to that experience so soon - but you made that fear sound more grounded.”
HyunJin nodded, looking away.
HeeJin tilted her head. For whatever reason, the girl got less spirited as soon as the tower showed over the horizon. HeeJin was in no condition yesterday to keep track of her friends’ moods, but, maybe, the first day of the exam was more taxing for HyunJin than she gave it credit.
Smiling softly, HeeJin gave HyunJin’s hand a quick comforting squeeze, hoping that her eyes conveyed the support and understanding she intended. Her reward was HuynJin’s momentary jolt of surprise and, after a second, a small smile. To her bewilderment, the girl returned the hold for a few moments, before they both parted their hands.
(The fact that amount of comfort she got in last two days was more than what HeeJin received in almost half a year was a depressing thought and it was shoved far away before she could take notice of it)
“Have you looked over the edge?” asked giddily Choerry, barrelling into them. “We are so high!”
“No, we decided that, maybe, another time,” said HeeJin, catching Choerry by elbows, steadying her. “You?” she asked, knowing the obvious answer.
“We did!” replied Chuu, coming to a stop on her own, before Choerry could open her mouth. “It is amazing! The walls are so even, you see them gradually melting in one another in the perspective. It is also possible to climb it down, there are enough handholds for a skilled climber,” HyunJin inhaled in exasperation on her right, “but probably shouldn’t be done - some gigantic ugly creatures are flying close-”
“-And we both think that they are a safeguard against that,” finished for her Choerry. “So how is a secret door hunt going?”
“Not great,” said HeeJin, scratching her head. Huh, her hair was still a little bit damp, she should get her beanie off. “We were kinda lost in thought for a while and didn’t look for it.”
“Neither did we,” shrugged Choerry. “Shall we, then?”
They found the first door soon enough, but Chuu, who found it, opted to help others to find theirs instead of going down. Now that they knew what size of slabs they were looking for, the rest of the search was finished in under ten minutes.
“We probably won’t see each other for some time,” stated Choerry looking at her door, as they gathered around it. Each of them picked one and the last one automatically went to her.
“Most likely,” replied HyunJin, smiling. “Good luck, everyone.”
“See you at the bottom,” said HeeJin, feeling nervous at the prospect of having to do this all by herself. Breathe in, breath out. If she couldn’t theoretically do it, she would’ve failed long ago. She can do it.
“I’ll do a countdown!” nodded Chuu, hopping to her door, the furthest one.
HeeJin returned to hers and stood in front of it. For the first time since the beginning, she would be as alone as possible. Gratitude she felt for the support and help she got from the girls was difficult to put into words, but it was time for her to do her best. By herself.
Chuu threw her arm up into the air, three fingers outstretched. With a small wave, she held it up again, two. One. Chuu raised fist and swung it down.
They stepped forward.

Ok I’ve been gone for a bit but I’m back and got something cute for you all. This hasn’t been proof read at all and I’m just excited to finally post something now that I have more muse. So here you guys go and I hope you love it.
Ok I’ve been gone for a while but I’ve been thinking about a pro hero Bakugo who honestly never thought he would have time to date. He spends most of his time in his office or off traveling for some important mission, not ever giving himself a break or the time to even think about a significant other.
Bakugo spends his free days with a set routine. Getting up early for breakfast. Going to the gym and wondering if his friends were free. Even though he was a little rough around the edges he can’t help but to spend more time with them than he would like to admit. Most of his friends were in relationships but he didn’t care much. He doesn’t mind being a third wheel and he was sure they didn’t care. At least he thought they didn’t care. They cared a lot more than he knew.
Bakugo has been on at least four dates that weren’t his own within the last month. Tagging along with kiri and Mina where they manage to have off. He offers to cook them dinner because what’s more romantic than his food. This is the same Bakugo who forced himself in on Kaminari and Jirou movie date, doing nothing but shushing them The Who time cause he couldn’t hear the movie. They all didn’t think too much about it until he somehow found himself on Midoryas and Urakas anniversary date. Loud explosive male barged into his best friend's home telling them not to mind him as he made his way in his home. He didn’t even realize what day it was until he saw the freckled male on one knee. Once he did that they knew they had to get him out of their hair.
That was when his friends had gotten the idea. Well it was mostly seros. It started with them all complaining about how lonely and overbearing the male was. How if he just had someone of his own they probably wouldn’t have such an issue with him. That’s when Sero gave them the genius idea.
“Make him a tinder.”
Ok they all know this could get them all killed. Katsuki was definitely not the type to use tinder and they all knew but it was obvious he needed someone to spend his everyday with. So it had to be done. It took some time to make the account. What would Katsuki tinder even look like? His caption would probably have Great Lord Explosion Murder God Dynamite somewhere. Would also express he should be the number one hero over ‘shitty Deku’. Was he a cat person or a dog person?
They had finished the account and very quickly started to swipe on people who they thought were katsuki’s type. It probably wasn’t the best idea to do it in their break room of the agency cause when the ashy blonde entered the room to ask if any of them had seen his phone they couldn’t find the words to speak. Rambles about how it’s just a joke and how they meant no harm were quick to leave their lips. Only earning harsh glare from the male as he snatched his phone.
Katsuki couldn’t believe that his friends thought this of him. He didn’t need a stupid app to help him find a relationship. He was Katsuki fucking Bakugo. Any one would be happy to be with him. Plus he was happily single. He wasn’t lonely. Or desperate for love he kept telling himself. He was just going to delete the app anyways once he was off. Well that’s what he thought he would do.
After finding his friends with his phone the male had a long day. It felt like he couldn’t catch a break. Stopping a robbery, helping a burning building evacuation and finding himself in an intense fight against a villain who just wouldn’t give up. He was drained and felt as if a weight that he couldn’t even hold up. The weight seemed to become even more crushing when he entered his empty apartment. Everything seemed to have been weighing on him. He decided to just sleep this feeling off. He ate dinner, showered and headed to bed. His eyes shutting with ease ready to sleep off his day
Ding
Everyone who knew Katsuki knew not to text him after work unless it was an emergency. He didn’t understand who thought they were important enough to interrupt his sleep. Deciding to quickly check it. Leaning over to his nightstand grabbing his phone as the blue light illuminated his dark room to see a notification. He had gotten a match. Wasn’t surprising. He didn’t think much of it since last he saw the app he had a few matches last he saw when he took his phone away from the idiots he calls his friends. He was going to set it down when the phone dinged again from the notification. This time a message.
“ Didn’t take the Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight as a cat person.”
Katsuki blinked at the message a few times before internally sighing at the thought that now everyone who saw his profile would be quick to respond to him. Most were asking if it was the real him. Others say how he’s their favorite hero, but no one had the balls to taunt him. He would be lying if he said you didn’t spark his interest at that moment. Clicking on the notification and heading to your profile to see if you were even worthy to mock him.
The male looked through your photos and instantly became more interested. You were beautiful. Melanated skin shining like gold in every photo you allowed the world to see. He loved seeing how in each photo your hair was different. Each style brings out your features in different ways. Your gorgeous face wasn’t the only thing that caught his attention. It seemed you two had similar interests. Pictures of you hiking, at the gym, and cooking made him wonder.
One message wouldn’t be bad right. He wouldn’t get attached just texting you for a few minutes. He decided he’d send a quick reply. It’s not like one text would ruin his night of sleep. He had self control.
“I’m not,” was all he sent back to you before turning off his ringer and rolling over in bed.
The next morning Katsuki assumed you would have thought he ghosted you or that he could just ignore you but it being his day off it wasn’t exactly that easy. All his friends were busy either working or spending time with their significant other and with him being completely done with regular routine he didn’t have much to do. He sat on his couch bored aimlessly scrolling through his phone after working out. He saw the small red dot on the fire app symbolizing he had a notification and decided to check it. He ignored every message but yours seeing you already had a sly comment sent back to him.
“Ah I always figured the one and only Dynamite would be a dog person,” he said reading the first message as he saw you were typing. His face soon formed a scowl.
“You always gave me Pomeranian type energy.”
Ok now he truly did want to just ignore the message. He already thought this app was a stupid idea and now he knew for sure it was a stupid idea. To your luck though there was no way he would just let you call him some small, not badass dog and get away with it.
“A Pomeranian? If anything I’m a fucking scary one.”
“Pomeranians can be scary, plus they have fluffy hair and are cute like another blonde.”
Katsuki was a bit stunned that you actually sent him that message. He also found it amusing when you sent him a bunch of apologizes and expressing how much of a dumb pick up line it was. He decided why not text you a bit more to see where this all went.
Texting you started as a maybe you once a day thing before katsuki fell asleep where you would tease each other back and forth and maybe ask some questions just to get to know each other. Then it became texting once he woke up in the morning and before he fell asleep. It started with you sending him a cute little good morning after he had crashed after getting off from a long mission. It made him feel good to wake up to a text from someone. Especially someone who seemed to care for him.
That was around the time his friends began to notice how the male seemed to be smiling a lot more at his phone when it seemed like no one was watching. How he seemed to type so quickly on his phone seemingly being in a rush. Plus it was obvious that something or someone had him occupied since he was now out of his friends' hair and focused on talking to you more.
Though Katsuki was enjoying getting to text you everyday and what soon became late night FaceTime calls where you’d fall asleep talking to each other, he wanted to meet you in person. The thought of it made his stomach turn truly. He didn’t want to scare you off or become too much to deal with just as he did to his friends. The day you asked to see him though he couldn’t stop himself from saying yes.
You both agreed to meet up that night since he didn’t have much time off coming up and you had a busy work schedule yourself. So why not tonight? Well katsuki could think of several reasons why once he was at work.
To his luck this day just seemed like fuck over Katsuki day. Firstly Izuku wasn’t in due to him being out cake testing for his wedding with Ochako. So he was being called on basically anything they would have chosen the number one hero to do. Oh how he loved being the replacement. Thanks to having so much work to do that meant he had all the paperwork included. This meant a late night stay at the agency after he had been in meetings all day, and having villains try their best to kill him.
Once he was home he could feel that weight he had felt before by filling the room. The way it was so empty and cold didn’t help boost his excitement for your date tonight. It didn’t help that he had promised to make you dinner at his house. By the time it was he definitely wouldn’t have time to start anything so it was a pizza kind of night.
When you knocked on the door it took him some time to answer it before. When he did it was very obvious the male had been through a rough day. Dark circles make home around the males eyes. The tension on his shoulders is easy to spot with just a glance at him. Easily being able to read how his day was on his face. Oh how he wished you didn’t have to see him this way.
He apologized for not being able to make you dinner as he guided you inside which you told him it was ok. You suggested a movie, he figured that you noticed the tiredness in his face. It was unusual for him to have someone even consider if he needed rest.
You both sat on his couch as the movie started. Butterflies in both of your stomachs. While katsuki could barely keep his eyes open. The sound of the movie going in and out. His eyes becoming heavier and heavier as the weight he was trying to ignore became his main focus on his mind. Hating each second of it when he wanted to be focused on the beautiful girl by his side.
“Do you need to vent?”
It was a simple question that brought the male back to reality. The one that caused him to look over at you for a quick second then back to the tv. “I don’t vent,”was all he could respond with.
He wasn’t comfortable with venting. He was never good at putting his feelings and thoughts into words. He didn’t think he would be able to do that with you especially since it was only the first time meeting you. So he thought it was the end of your comfort.
“That’s ok, we could cuddle if you like. You look like you need some rest and don’t be stubborn either.”
He gave you another look at your statement. After just talking over text and FaceTime you knew him too well for his own good already. He let out a soft breath before finally caving in and allowing himself to get comfortable.
You assisted on being the big spoon even after the blonde argued repeatedly that he was big spoon material. So he laid against your chest as you played in his hair aimlessly. Your goal was to get the male to relax and you did just that. It didn’t take long for his eyes to flutter shut and for him to take in your scent of your vanilla perfume that took over his mind before he gently fell asleep.
Early in the morning the male woke up letting out a yawn. His home felt different. Something new about it as he woke up lashed batting as they adjusted to the scenery. He didn’t feel the heaviness of weight on his shoulder, the loneliness and cold feeling completely gone from him. He looked up from the spot he rested and smiled at the sight in front of him.
You slept peacefully. Arms loosely around the male as light snores escaped from your lips. That’s what was different. Just your comfort brough light and warmth into the males home. It was the feeling he always looked for. The feeling he stayed so close to his friends for and now he finally got it for himself. He wanted to keep it forever.
All thanks to a stupid app tinder.

- While Foolish works on the statue some more, Callahan comes along to visit
- Though the statue isn’t yet finished, DreamXD appears at the summer home. DreamXD thinks it’s been two weeks, but he’s still not sure. Foolish tells him he still has time
- Callahan hides behind Foolish as DreamXD approaches. DreamXD says that Callahan was his pet at one point, until he wasn’t
Foolish: “Like, you gave him powers?!”
DreamXD gestures at Callahan. Callahan levitates off the ground.
DreamXD: “Anyway –”
- DreamXD observes that the statue is done, and it’s magnificent! He loves it!
- Foolish asks about the powers. DreamXD is hesitant, though he says he’s excited about the statue
DreamXD: “What do you want? What...do you...desire?”
- What is Foolish’s deepest, darkest desire? Foolish says Creative Mode. DreamXD thinks that’s too greedy. And it’s also not that great a desire – Foolish could have asked for world domination and instead he just wants to build more
- Foolish asks if he could rule the End. There’s a moment of silence
DreamXD: “I rule the End.”
- Foolish isn’t sure what to ask for. He asks for Creative Mode flying, but that’s still too greedy. DreamXD suggests they take a walk for inspiration
- Foolish does not want to be a cat. XD suggests a llama, but he doesn’t want to be that either. They look at Foolish’s pet llama and DreamXD names it “Foolish”
- DreamXD is angered by Ponk’s mechanical bee because it blocks his statue. Foolish tells him Ponk built it. XD wants it gone
- They walk into Foolish’s temple. DreamXD sees the first statue and thinks Foolish built a statue of Dream. When Foolish explains that it was his first attempt at XD, he says that it was before he knew how handsome DreamXD actually was because he’d never seen him
- DreamXD thinks that this statue is the most ridiculous thing he’s seen in his billions of years of life
- DreamXD questions why Foolish has cats everywhere and they discuss allergies and nuts
- They enter the main chamber and start arguing about pets again
- XD notices the pyramid. Bad logs on and XD is annoyed as he can’t talk behind Bad’s back now
- They talk about flying powers again. DreamXD says he needs to check his catalogue and wants to avoid seeing BadBoyHalo again, so he’ll be back later. XD leaves
- Foolish greets Bad, whose head is hung low in sadness. He’s sniffling about Foolish being mean to him about Bad saying hi twice
- Foolish asks if Bad had any nightmares about his family dying a week ago. Apparently Bad did have a lot of nightmares. How did Foolish know?
- Bad freaks out and runs away. Foolish walks after him, suggesting they visit the therapy office
- Bad has been dealing with stomach pains the past week. He probably ate something that didn’t agree with him...something or someone
- They go to the spider spawner to name some Lore Coal. Suddenly, Bad hears someone in the spider spawner and he’s not sure who it is...a person. He shouts “DON’T EAT ME!” and runs away screaming from Foolish. It’s the nightmare voice
- They’re being watched by someone. They chase down someone invisible but lose them
- Foolish and Bad go back to the summer home, discussing what Bad could’ve possibly done to wrong XD. Bad caused a lot of pain and suffering with the Egg, but knowing XD, he probably found that fun. They run into Eryn along the way
- Foolish destroys Ponk’s bee. Callahan and DreamXD come back and Bad runs away. XD sees Eryn and tells him to leave, but Eryn refuses. XD orders Foolish to kill him
- Foolish and Eryn battle each other. Eryn manages to get Foolish down to no health, but right as Foolish is about to die, there’s a Totem-breaking sound and Foolish is revived. Eryn keeps trying, but it happens a second time
Foolish: “I am immortal, Eryn!”
- XD grows bored of the battle and lets Eryn leave. He gets the idea to let Foolish keep the immortality for good. It has limited uses, but Foolish won’t know how many. Foolish tries asking for the elytra again, but it’s still too greedy
Foolish: “Listen, am I your pet or not?”
DreamXD: “You...are...my...friend.”
- DreamXD decides to let Foolish in on a little secret and asks if he’s ever seen Death Note
DreamXD: “I get bored, so I dropped...two books in the world that have powers, and one of them is found, one of them was, but the other one hasn’t been found. And I’m kind of disappointed, because I dropped them a millennia ago, but...”
- He won’t tell Foolish what it is, but it’s a godly power. It could be where books might be. The guy who found the other book has been in a box for a year, and DreamXD is bored
DreamXD: “Look...you’re my pet. But you’re my best friend – well, maybe not my best friend, but my friend.”
- Foolish thinks he’s just a big softie on the inside, really. He asks if he can see just a tiny bit of the End, but DreamXD doesn’t think they’re at that point
- DreamXD says it was nice seeing Foolish, and that Foolish knows how to summon him. He leaves before Foolish can say anything else
- Foolish walks away, thinking to himself, when he spots Bad hiding in the sand. Foolish warns Bad not to go looking for anything he heard of
- Bad has to go leave to look for something at the library. Foolish chases him and Bad blurts out that he’s seen what Foolish is looking for and he knows where it is. He saw it on accident a really long time ago
- Bad leaves the summer home and Foolish doesn’t follow. Did Bad really know?
- Foolish decides to test his new power one more time...he climbs up the scaffolding and, while looking at the statue, falls to his death. The Totem breaks, and Foolish lives
- There is one guy who already has a book. It wouldn’t hurt to ask...maybe Dream knows something. Maybe he’s looking for the other book right now, even
- Eryn goes tax-collecting
- Eryn, Foolish and Tina all hang out
