*Goosebumps (2023) Season 2 Theories

I read that the producers were really interested in expanding the new Goosebumps series’s by adding in the other books, most definitely Night of the Living Dummy ones, and that’s awesome! I mean, think about it, Kanduu said he can unleash more monsters, weeeeeeell what if he meant the monsters from the other books! 🤩It’s the perfect seasonal plot for Season 2! He could unleash all the other monsters and we’d get them all for Season 2! Picture this:

Calling All Creeps!-This can be about Kanduu summoning all the monsters to awaken and them slowly coming alive.

The Girl Who Cried Monster-I wanted Margot to be the one to tell the others about the monsters coming back, but then I thought, maybe Allison should! We barely knew anything about her other than being Isaiah’s jealous girlfriend, so maybe this’ll give her some characterization and become a member of the group finally when she sees there’s more to life than just the social status of high school.

Monster Blood-One fan suggested this when they said that the dupes blood can be the monster blood, but what if it’s the blood of the monster the teens defeat and when they think they won, the blood slowly moves to its next host to possess!?

The Beast from the East-Those creatures (not all the monsters are caused by the monster blood mind you, some are original monsters from the temple that were unleashed) can play that overly complicated game of tag with the teens. Also, for those who read the books, if one of the “dupes” survived, the beasts will let them go as they’re “Level 3” players😉

The Werewolf of Fever Swamp-The monster blood gets on a lone wolf dwelling in a swamp and infects it turning them into a werewolf.

The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight-The monster blood gets ahold of a simple scarecrow that attacks people at midnight.

The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb-The monster blood gets onto to a mummy at an Egyptian exhibit in a museum that awakens it from its sleep.

Phantom of the Auditorium-The monster blood infecting an actor in the schools/town theatre’s play of “The Phantom of the Opera” and kidnapping people to be the only star.

Attack of the Mutant-The monster blood infecting a cosplayer at a comic con into the character from the graphic novel, but they’re evil and delusional to think everyone at the convention is the real deal.

The Abominable Snowman of Pasadena-The monster blood infecting a yeti statue outside of an ice cream parlor in Pasadena the teens were at for a traveling thing.

Vampire Breath-Not an actual vampire in the show per se, but what if a student accidentally created this kind of potion and it’s fumes turned people into blood sucking monsters!?

The Blob That Ate Everyone-The monster blood forming together to create a giant blob that consumes everything.

How to Kill a Monster-After finding out how all these monsters keep showing up, Margot will try to figure out a way to stop it from the spell book she now has. She’ll also use it throughout the season as a guide to look up the monsters and find other spells to repel them.

For the Night of the Living Dummy, these will go deeper into the Kanduu storyline when he now possess Mr.Bratt.

Night of the Living Dummy lll-This’ll pick up right where we left off with Mr.Bratt discovering Kanduu isn’t dead and getting possessed again. Poor guy can’t catch a break!

Slappy's Nightmare-This’ll deal with Kanduu before the war and how his life was growing up in the 19th century and he probably didn’t have a good life judging by that era (dirt poor? abusive parents, no friends, etc.) which got worse by the war.

Bride of the Living Dummy-This one I’m excited about cuz what if Kanduu had a love interest that they forgot about due to obtaining all that power, but then something triggered that memory. Maybe he sees all these happy couples (ex.Margot and Isaiah) and remembers his sweetheart, Mary Ellen! Maybe he’ll try to bring her back by using a doll he bought from a garage sale and going to her grave to say a spell to bring her back!? Or a teacher from the school falls for Mr.Bratt and Kanduu (still possessing him) will use her as the vessel to bring Mary Ellen back!

What kind of quirk or thing do you think each of the Ducks had as kids? Like, who was the kid that was always rescuing injured animals or who was the kid that dressed up as Batman for weeks? Just funny little kid things lol

Ok, so I started this and it was more sad than funny so I restarted. Anyways let's do this.

Dwayne has also had a connection with animals. His family used to joke he was snow white. Not only would he rescue them but they would bring him stuff like feathers and rocks.

Casey couldn't afford daycare or preschool so Charlie would have to come to the diner with her. He loved it though. He would talk to everyone he saw and ask them about their life. The customers loved him. He actually met some of the Ducks this way.

Adam is the youngest of his family. His two siblings are fairly older so I can see Adam having an imaginary friend. He would spend time in his room talking to them and sharing his feelings. His imaginary friend was a hockey player.

Connie has always been smart so she actually has an interesting story. When she was in first grade, she started an illegal card-swapping ring. The school had banned trading cards, but Connie had a system to get them in. She was actually never caught.

Guy was and is very superstitious. It started when he accidentally stepped on a crack on his way home. When he got home his mom was lying down with a sore back. They were unrelated, but Guy continues to avoid cracks and other superstitions.

Julie has always been a tough cookie. She grew up with three older brothers. However, she was no pushover. Actually, by the age of five, she could tackle all of her brothers to the ground and subdue them.

Dean was definitely the Batman kid. He wanted to change his name to Bruce at one point. He would get into literal fistfights to defend Batman. He also wore a Batman mask for most of first grade.

When Averman was 4, he was an avid goosebumps reader. His favorite monster was Slappy. He even went as far as to ask for his own ventriloquist dummy for his birthday. His parents gave him a hockey stick instead.

Russ has always been great with words. When he was younger he would make up stories. He actually conned his way into a birthday party using a story. His brother caught him when he was leaving with a big slice of cake. He wasn't happy.

When Fulton was gifted his first pair of combat boots he wouldn't;t take them off except to shower. He even wore them to bed. This went on for a full year until they started to wear out and he had to get new ones. His mother convinced him the new ones would last longer if he didn't wear them everywhere.

Luis' was obsessed with the Zorro comics as a kid. He was gift them from his dad who collected them when he was younger. He was so impressed by his suave deminer and his sword skills. He won't admit it but it was also kind of a crush. His mom supported it but she drew the line at getting him a sword.

Kenny was a little shit as a kid (like he isn't as a teen..) He actually started school late. At the time he was supposed to enroll, he was being relocated to San Francisco to live with his grandparents. So, since he was in a new place Kenny and he was a little edgelord. Kenny fakes not knowing English for six months of the school year. He only stopped because his grandma received a letter from the principal.

After he met Connie, Jesse took it upon himself to always carry hair ties with him. He didn't really tell anyone that he had them. However, they did find out when Connie's scrunch ripped and Jesse produced a handful of colorful hair ties from his pocket.

Goldberg has never been good with confrontation. It's not because he can't handle it. Even though he really can't. It's more he can't control his laughter when people confront him. He laughs when he gets nervous. So, on more than one occasion he had to outrun some bullies who were pissed he laughed at them. That's also how he ran into the Ducks one day (literally speaking.)

Tammy was an only child for a while before Tommy came along. So she didn't really care for him when he was born. So one day when she and Tommy were being babysat by their aunt, Tammy saw an opportunity. While their aunt was making lunch, Tammy picked up Tommy and carried him outside. She brought some paper and made a sign that said, "Stupid brother, $0.50". Unfortunately, one of the neighbors noticed and called her aunt who came and brought them back inside.

Tommy was the kid who was obsessed with Disney. He actually watched only Disney movies for 2 years. If anyone suggested anything else he had a fit.

Terry has always admired his big brother. So, when he entered preschool he told everyone his name was Jesse. He would tell people all about cool things he had done which were actually things Jesse had done. It only lasted a day because the teacher called Mr. Hall. Unfortunately, Mr. Hall had a hard time explaining to Terry why he couldn't pretend to be Jesse.

Karp only got an A once in school. It was on a math test. However, instead of using the test to learn better ways for him to learn. He attributed the A to his socks. He then wore those socks for 6 months straight until his mom stole them while he was sleeping and burned them.

Peter has always had a smart mouth. He is very blunt and he takes pride in that. However, there is one person he won't mouth off to and that's his grandma. He tried once during Thanksgiving and she snapped back so quick his head spun. She also became his favorite that day.

heyy !! you got any headcanons for dennis and rocky?? i’ll take all you can throw at me

hmmm been a bit since i thought of headcannons for characters.... yar ill give it a go. ill also put down some comic ideas i had for them as well (the comic ideas here were either scrapped or me questioning if i should draw them or not/not drawing them yet)

- i can see rocky and dennis being really close best friends, to the point they see each other as family (not as a ship/couple, i dont ship them)

- rocky is SUPER protective over dennis as the majority of the monsters that rocky has come across are bad/evil, dennis being the first good goosebumps monster hes come across (until they meet snappy of course)

- dennis has a tendency to wonder off where ever hes at, much to the dismay of rocky. doesnt matter what other goosebumps monster is out there or if rocky tells him not to wonder off, dennis will wonder off (i actually had 2 comic plots in mind for this, one being a joke one, the other being how he ended up meeting snappy, dunno whether to draw them or not)

- rocky has seen dennis’s head fall off that many times that hes not affected by it anymore (the first couple of times used to scare the hell out of him). its actually come to the point that rocky can kind of see when its about to happen and stops it before dennis hurts himself

- dennis is blind in one eye (his right eye)

- rocky has a gold tooth (i have a massive feeling this one was mentioned in night of the living dummy 3 at some point, sorry if it is)

- dennis was created first before rocky, technically making him older then rocky, but with his personality being more or less one of a child and rocky’s design making him look like an old man, hes constantly mistaken to be the younger one

- both rocky and dennis have a minor fear of slappy as they both know the power that he has, but given that both of them have defeated slappy on 2 separate occasions, they are fairly confident to fight him if they ever encounter him again

- i was thinking about this one as more of a joke plot in a mini comic but i like to think that dennis has some sort of super strength. i remember a conversation me and @hellbentjunkyard had ages ago where we could imagine that dennis would be playing with a ball with snappy which ends up accidentally rolling underneath a parked car, with snappy about to crawl under and grab it but dennis just ends up picking up the entire car instead and getting the ball back that way. rocky has a fair bit of strength as well but not as much as dennis

- rocky naps a lot, like A LOT. dennis often stealing his fedora as a joke while hes sleeping

ive actually been trying to think of an origin story on how rocky and dennis meet in the goosebumps universe (i should probably explain since i just realised i never actually explained my version of the goosebumps universe on here yet. my version goosebumps universe, basically its kinda like earth except its... off. like i can see warped buildings, constantly dark skies with thick clouds, i can imagine purple grass for some reason, no idea why i just can, and the rivers/lakes/oceans are a glowing see through green colour. like everything is a different colour (i can also imagine the trees having dark blue leaves for some reason. still no idea why). but basically all the goosebumps monsters/villains are there, as well as locations located in goosebumps (like horrorland or zombie highschool, etc). anyway back to rocky and dennis, they are 2 of the nicer goosebumps monsters (which is kinda rare given that its goosebumps) so i cant imagine them doing something bad. maybe the meet by accident like with dennis and snappy? i dunno ill have to think about it more

Please Hang Up and Dial Again

Hey there, buttered toast. This dang series is continuing. Really, that's all there is to it. It's issue 3 of 3, and I'll be glad to see this one wrap up~

Here's the cover:

Looks like someone needs to update their Weather app. I don't question how Slappy can fit into that desk, have you seen the trunks ventriloquist dummies usually travel in? And no, the blobs aren't an attempt to bring Egg Monsters from Mars as yet another series. Nobody liked that one enough to reference it. It's just I Live In Your Basement! again. But I think the most confusing thing about this cover... Why is L-2 the seat in front of K-1? Explain that one to me~

So last time, the spooky shit has been popping off, and Mitra has been kind of too dumb to notice. If anything, let's give props to Kyra, who has noticed Mitra's phone is bad news and tried to take it. This sends them both over a cliff. And to top off the dumb, the issue starts with the cliche "Yep, that's me, falling off a cliff right now" text. We're not wondering how you got here, we read the last two comics! Anyway, to keep the cliches a-rolling, Kyra manages to catch a root growing out of the side of the cliff, and Mitra catches hold of Kyra's boot. Hope it's snugly on!

Luckily, Weather happened to be in the area, having sensed she was needed, and pulls the two girls back up onto the ledge. Finally, both girls are caught up, Mitra admitting her phone is the source of all their troubles and Kyra believing her. But of course, you can't just throw out an evil phone, you have to undo everything. Mitra starts deleting pictures in hopes it'll undo the effects the filters had (including, sadly, Weather's attraction to her). But oh dear: they've just gotten a text from Flips showing her and Mitra in a photo together. But Mitra's right here...

The gals rush over to school, spying on Flips and Evil!Mitra. Kyra tries to send a text to Flips, but Evil!Mitra strategically spills her drink on Flips' phone before she can answer. Anybody who can manage that subtly is a force to be reckoned with. Before they can enact any othr plans, Slappy appears and threatens them. He reveals his interest in the phone: to send a virus to any other device it connects with that will make the recipient his slave. At least he's consistant in his characterisation, if not interesting~

Slappy's monologuing is interrupted by someone else in the shadows. A real Creep--and I mean the monster type. He and his gang are claiming ownership over the phone, and a fight breaks out. Mitra and pals do the smart thing and duck out to find Flips while the fight's happening. They bump into Mehrdad on the way, and he joins the party. Upon reaching Flips, she reveals she was just attacked by Mitra in the gym--but hey, then why is Mitra here with them?? So they all head off to the gym, the only time any kids have been glad to go to gym.

In the gym, they're immediately confronted by Evil!Mitra, who you can distinguish by her lack of a warm hat. Evil!Mitra snatches the phone, intent on deleting the photo with the twinning filter and become the last Mitra standing. But even being evil doesn't save her from the incompetance of being Mitra, and she accidentally opens a beauty analysis app instead. This summons a female ghost with a scarred face who latches onto Evil!Mitra. And while she's struggling with the ghost, Weather uses a drone to grab the phone away. Wow, that's convenient!

While the struggle is ongoing, Slappy and his cohort Curly the Skeleton burst in, also demanding the phone. Amazing no one's seen a dummy and a skeleton wandering the school. Mitra snatches it and stomps on it, disgusted by the whole turn of events. Evil!Mitra and the beauty ghost immediately vanish. Kyra then runs over to a control panel on the wall while Mehrdad grabs Slappy one-handed and rolls by on his skateboard. He throws Slappy into the bleachers, which Kyra retracts with the control panel. And since they were installed in the '90s, there's no safety features, and Slappy is crushed to death.

I guess Curly and the Creeps just give up, and hopefully start a band with that name. Nothing else happens, and we cut to Mitra and pals hanging out at a pizza restaurant, explaining the whole deal. It was nice of the school to let them out early for this. Flips and Mitra reconcile, having realised Slappy was the one who cut Flips’ hair, and Mitra decides to just have two best friends. She also bumps into Weather, who it turns out isn't into Mitra, she was merely compelled into the crush by the phone. Mitra's sad, but brushes it off, relieved the ordeal is over.

But the twist is: Mitra and Mehrdad head home, and their mom tells them to get their other brother out of the basement for dinner. Uh oh, is this about to go all Coraline on us? Alas, nothing that cool. Instead, in the basement is Keith, the drooling blob boy. Turns out, he sent them the phone, as a bribe to keep being their brother. He was phone! And they have to take care of him. Or he'll take care of their parents, if you get his drift. Ah, how nice of him, retirement communities are expensive~

Questionable Parenting: I’ve said it several times, but the girl’s parents really named their kid Weather. Minority Alert: Mitra and Mehrdad are Iranian names and have appropriately dark skin. Kyra has even darker skin. And Mitra is the first LGBT Goosebumps protagonist, if her crush on Weather is anything to go by. But the twist is: Who knew you could do all this respectfully when RL Stine himself isn’t the one writing~? The Platonic Boy/Girl Relationship: Mitra and her brother Mehrdad, who disappears into a hospital emergency room halfway through the comic. RL Stine Shows He’s Down With The Kids: Man, kids today be on their smartphones, huh? Apps an’ camera filters an’ security risks an’ shit. Also, a drone saves the day.

Compared to last time, which was a short and simple romp through HorrorLand, this comic tries too many things and drops the ball like a juggler’s first performance. Making Slappy the villain for the second time in a row was a mistake, and the Creeps subplot could’ve been excised entirely, for what little there was of it to begin with. I feel like they were only in it because their original book had “Calling” in the name, and this revolves around a phone. And Keith the Basement Boy was really just thrown in for a cheap twist. It really should have just focused on the setting update for “Say Cheese And Die! But With a Cellphone”, because when it actually focused on that aspect of the story, it actually did quite well. This could have been pretty good if it had stuck to a single unifying idea instead of trying to be the continuity cavalcade.

Next week, another Goosebumps story! Hopefully a better one than this~

Tiny art dump

I'm gonna work on an animatic and an answer for one of the goofy gang member asks today. But for now I'll just give my insight on the doodles I did

First is I drew all of the goosebumps dummies in my style! Mr. Wood took more inspiration from his comic look since I prefer it over the actual book look, and Rocky and Dennis have the appearances of their show looks -though I kinda wanna headcanon one of hisbeyes being a lazy eye? One of my band buddies have one and a lotta people hc him being blind in one eye, which makes sense with the context of the book itself-. Then Slappy takes inspiration from his movie look.

Second is some art I did of Demoman and Junkrat. Tbh I'm in a love/hate relationship with Overwatch, because I see SO MUCH POTENTIAL in it, yet Blizzard keeps not using it to its full power. Some characters have interesting personalities, but then majority of the characters are bland and stale, having nothing worth noting. Only ones I can truly think of on the top of my head is Junkrat, Lucio, kinda Tracer (or maybe it's because she's the poster child) and... that's about all I can think of, but I'm confident there's more. And since you all know I'm a tf2 baby, I remember a few years back being hyperfixed on the tf2 vs overwatch rap battles, and yesturday I wanted to listen to them again, so I did while I worked on this.

Final thing is of my headcanon for Paige the Notepad and her romantic orientation and stuff (Panromantic Asexual). Idk, I was gonna do kore of my hc drawings for different fandoms but I chose against it to work on the comic I was doodling.
