So “I love you more than starlight, Julian Blackthorn” is cute and poetic

But Emma just thinks it and doesn’t say itbat first.

AND thinking about it how much does Emma actually love the stars?

Like they are pretty, sure, but also very distant and faraway.

She can easily survive without the stars, she does so in Thule

Point being that “I love you more than starlight” sounds romantic but isn’t really bc how much Emma loves Julian can’t come close to starlight.

So what I suggest

What would be the most romantic coming from a Carstairs would be:

“I love you more than Cortana, Julian Blackthorn”

Bc then I would SWOON

Like if a Carstairs loves you more than her SWORD that is true love.

Same applies to Cordelia and James

Cortana is a shortsword that has been passed through the Carstairs family for generations. It has a feather from the wing of the archangel Michael in its hilt, and the inscription along its blade describes its forging. It is known as a sword of mercy because it features one sharp edge and one dull one. The sword seems to decide who is best fit to wield it, as when Elias attempted to give it to Alastair instead of Cordelia, Cortana flew out of his hands and into Cordelia’s. Much later, when the sword was taken from Emma and used to attack her, it refused to land a blow on her, and Emma recovered it when it flew into her outstretched hand.
