Plitvice Lakes National Park is located in Croatia and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is known for its system of interconnected waterfalls and lakes, which are surrounded by dense forests. The park covers an area of about 300 square kilometers and is home to a variety of plant and animal species. The most famous feature of the park are the 16 terraced lakes, joined by cascading waterfalls, and boardwalks that allow visitors to explore the park and see the lakes from different perspectives. It's a popular tourist destination and get visited by a lot of people every year. The park is open year-round, although some facilities and paths may be closed during the winter months due to snow and ice.
