All of North America is wiped out by a nuclear bomb. All but the cats, who are small enough to fit into small crevices and swift enough to work quickly in times of danger. After "The Great Light", the surviving cats form groups – called "Colonies" – that represent all of their strengths. All is fine for a little while, before cats start dropping dead one by one. There's a killer loose.

It's what looks like a bomb from the outside. Cracking open the lid, it reveals there's nothing inside but a note saying "XDXD got you!!" in crude handwriting, with some badly-drawn finger hands on the bottom.

It was a re-dream of a recurring story back before i knew how to drive. Back then, i would ride my bike across a low arch bridge (doesn't exist irl) And would end up watching a greasy haired guy in a trench coat break into someone's car to plant a bomb.

The bomb would end up going off and destroying the bridge. I'd bike away because the guy saw me and he'd chase me down and brutally murder me under the bridge near my house. But since i know how to drive now, instead, it was MY car he broke into. He tried to plant the bomb but I was able to disarm it and throw it in the river.

I flee to the same bridge and he corners me at the railing closest to the river and hidden by the bridge itself. Instead of letting him do his usual stab and slashing I scream my lungs out for help. I'm yelling all kinds of things "Help" "Fire" "Someone fell in!" "My child!" anything except "He's going to kill me" and "Murderer" because i knew that people would avoid reacting if they knew the truth. People come rushing in from both sides to see what is going on.

At least four people of the ten or so present start coming up and standing in between me and the knife wielder. He starts getting very angry as people are verbally abusing him, calling him a coward and things like that while others call the police.

He starts getting very hostile and trying to get in my face for "Not following the rules" and how he's *supposed* to kill me and how I'm not doing it right and that i *have* to follow the rules.

I look to the river and my vision seems to change to watch as my sick cat is swimming through the river looking for a new home. Some wild alleycats swim alongside him and show him a sunken cat carrier and it's basically a condo to the four of them and he decides to move in before looking back up to the surface where I am before going inside.
