For the pairing ask meme: Mareach, Zelink, Powser and Ganzelda?
Oh, so I've got the Princess/Hero VS Villain/Princess? 😏 Childhood OTPs ahead, let's do this!
Tumblr media
Mario/Peach
Yes, yes-yes-yes!! Especially in the "Paper Mario" series games and "Mario RPG"! It's the classical hero/princess done right, Mario is always so respectful and sweet towards Peach, never expecting anything from her while Peach is always so graceful and looking at him with such a loving gaze aaaaaAAAaaaWWww!! SWEETNESS OVERDOSE!! And in games where we get them to team up 👍👍👍 Love their energy and bond, it's both sweet and fun to see!
Tumblr media
Bowser/Peach
Excellent fanfic material - depends on which games - and I love it! Beauty and the Beast vibes always work for me 😂 They could have a "opposites attract" dynamic, which is always interesting and fun to read/see. As long as Mario doesn't get heartbroken or bashed, I'm all for it!! One-sided, complicated relationship, star-crossed lovers or happy ending, I love all of them for this pairing!
Tumblr media
Zelda/Link
Another childhood OTP, especially after "Ocarina of Time". The whole reincarnation and sort of "soul sisters" is also a good touch for me. It depends on the games though, there are some in which the two don't interact much and Link got to bond with another endearing character, but Zelink still holds a special place in my heart. So far, my favourite versions of Zelink are: Ocarina of Time (+ Majora's Mask, that flashback!!), Wind Waker, Skyward Sword and A Link to the Past BotW is good too, it's just that I didn't get to play it yet 🤣 , only watched some bits here and here and from what I saw, they are adorable there too <3
Tumblr media
Zelda/Ganon(dorf)
I am a big fan of @figmentforms comic and I really like the potential of this pairing! Not as much as with Peach/Bowser, but I am fascinated with the concept of them being eternally (or not?) star-crossed lovers because of the cycle/spirits or Gods they are the reincarnation of getting in the way. I'd love to see Ganondorf breaking from Demise's hatred and living his own life someday, let Ganondorf be part of the team!! 😭

The Broken Link in the Chain Chapter One: Unlikely Fates Twisted
A tale about unlikely twists of fates, unlikely allies and villains, will they be able to save Hyrule? Or will the timeline as a whole suffer for this turn of events? Follow the reader and their adoptive brother Gam on their adventures across Hyrule, as they make friends and enemies alike and unravel the truth about what has happened to their segment of the time line.
There is a Tale as old as time, a never ending cycle of rebirth, good vs evil, forever unchanged… That was, till one day, something extraordinary happened.
The unthinkable happened.
A ripple in the timeline, one so strong it was able to twist the threads of fate.
Power, Wisdom, Courage…
All significant roles to play under the triforce, each their assigned role, and part to play on the stage that was the undying cycle.
But as the stars shifted, the threads tangled, things began to change. With that in mind, Our tale begins with one unlikely birth.
The birth of a Gerudo boy, a birth that only happens approximately every 100 years. He was born outside the Gerudo valley, on a starry night.
Most Gerudo men are welcomed and celebrated, but due to a long history filled with conflict and hate caused by the curse placed on one Gerudo man, it was worried that this innocent boy would become something fearful in the future. A fear that he’d be rejected, outcasted and exiled.
So the boy's mother had made a special request of two important people, one of the Gerudo chieftess, and a darling old friend.
The request was to let the boy be raised by her friend in Kakariko village until he was to be called back to Gerudo town eventually like the vai born and raised outside the capital.
If it had been any other Hylian vai, the request might just have been declined, but since it was a Hylian the chieftess knew, and knew that she could trust. She approved of the unusual request with the condition that Lady Impa would write to them about the young Ganondorf’s development.
And that is how Gam, the young Gerudo boy got the chance to be raised inside the sheikah village of Kakariko village, where he would be raised by the elder lady Impa. While she was strict to a fault, she was kind and caring to the boy. Though she could only pray to the goddesses that it would be enough to save him from a terrible fate.
So this is his tale…
---
Although Gam was unusual and stood out among the Hylians in the small village this didn’t stop him from making friends.
“(Name)?” Gam tried desperately to wake his friend.
“(Name), get up, Impa will be pissed if she finds out you’ve slept in again” He reminds them, mostly for their own safety. With a sigh Gam makes a final attempt to wake them.
“Sav’otta~” said in a manner of power, the kind of tone Impa usually uses to get them to listen. A motherly warning tone before you get in trouble.
“I’m up!” They shout, alarmed as they toss their blanket aside and get up. Frantically grabbing their gear and trying to put it on quickly. “Don’t scare me like that!”
“I wouldn’t have to, if you got up the first two times, (Name)” He said, stepping out of the way as they rushed around their shared room to get ready for the day.
They would simply stick their tongue out at Gam, before pulling their haori on and grabbing their training shoes. Gam would roll his eyes and shake his head, all with an amused smile on his face as he pulled up his mask.
“Good luck, you're gonna need it if you’re gonna live through impa’s wrath.” he says walking out of the room. Gam could hear them groan in dismay as left.
Once the two of them made it outside, they stood side by side, both looking down at the ground so they didn’t have to see the disappointed look on lady Impa’s face. Something the two of them both couldn’t handle.
“Let me guess, (Name) slept in again, Correct?” Impa interrogated the two, even if she wasn’t very intimidating visually, her tone was deadly.
“Yes, ma’am!” They responded in unison.
“Then Gam, stayed to wake (Name) up?” she continued with a watchful eye.
“Yes!”
“Thus, both of you are now late to training together?”
“Yes, ma’am…” They sounded like dejected children that got told no they couldn’t have ice cream.
“You know the drill then, start with an extra 15 laps,” Lady Impa instructed. She seemed to show mercy. For the time being. But why?
Once the two had started their laps and were sure enough that Impa was out of ear shot, they started whispering.
“She let me off the hook- why? - oh my goddesses she really is going to kill me.”
“(Name), she isn’t going to kill you. You’re being stupid.”
“Oh shut it, wise guy. Then why do you suggest she’s being merciful?”
“I can’t recall anything important happening today, can you?”
“Nooo… nothing comes to mind- not forgetting a birthday are we?”
“I write everyone's birthdays in my calendar. I wouldn’t have forgotten something like that,” Gam states with a deadpan expression
“Alright… how about - festivals?” They give him a playful glare of annoyance.
“The whole town would be chatting about it and flowers would be everywhere,” he says simply.
“Is Impa expecting any visits or something from the royal family?”
“Not that she’s mentioned,” Gam says with a shrug, having not recalled much of note.
“We are so dead when we get back.” “You’re so dead when you get back,” Gam playfully corrected before picking up his pace as he started to race his friend to finish their laps.
“CHEATER!” They yell after him, for giving himself a head start. Quickly chasing after their tall friend.
Once they started racing it didn’t take them long to finish their total of twenty-five laps. Gam, with his height advantage and head start, to no surprise completed the laps first.
“You’re such a cheater, Gam.” They say with a huff as they place their hands on their knees to stop and catch their breath.
“You would have done the same,” Gam says simply while pulling his hair into a proper high ponytail.
“Yeah, I would have,” they pant before sitting their ass down on the ground. As they sat there, they soon noticed that Impa wasn’t there ready to kick their scrawny asses into gear. Which only felt more terrifying for some reason.
“Impa didn’t mention anything about stealth training did she?” They glance back over to Gam with a look of concern.
“No- we’re going over our form again because someone can’t get their footing right,” Gam says simply and also starts glancing around.
“Hey. Hey. Rude. I’m working on it.” They crossed their arms grumpily. “Though, if Impa isn’t here… what’s going on?” they wondered, a perplexed expression.
After a moment of standing there in silence they were then startled by the gate to the training ground opening. Followed by the chatter of Impa and the current queen of Hyrule.
So there they were perplexed by Lady Impa talking to the blonde and blue eyed queen. It wasn’t every often the queen herself would come visit the small village to begin with.
“Queen Eurydice?” They mumbled to themself, trying to figure out whatever could be the occurrence or event to prompt such a visit.
Once the Queen took notice of the kids she would smile at them. She was sweet and kind, and everyone could agree her smile warmed hearts and brightened rooms.
“You two have grown so much since the last time I've seen you both,” she spoke lovingly to them, as if they were her own kids. “Gam, it won’t be much longer till you are taller than even me,” she chuckled amusedly.
“I don’t know about that, your majesty” Gam would say simply, glancing away awkwardly. Though he already towered over kids his age, as a Gerudo it was likely he would be taller than most Hylians anyways.
“Oh come on now, you know it to be true,” Queen Eurydice chuckles and ruffles both of their heads. “And you (Name), You look like you’ve adapted well to living in Kakariko very well.”
“Yeah- Gam helped a lot with that,” they say sincerely with a smile. “The other kids are nice too, I think you were right about fitting in just fine,” they add bashfully.
“Good, I’m glad. Be sure to thank Impa too, when you get the chance. Both of you,” the Queen knew that without Impa’s generosity their fates would have been much unknown otherwise.
“Yes, ma’am!” They said in unison.
“Now, why don’t we catch up and have some afternoon tea,” Queen Eurydice turned to face Impa, a hand on her hip and a knowing smile. It seemed that even the stern Lady Impa couldn't deny the queen on such an offer.
“Very well. I’ll start the kettle.” Impa uncrossed her arms and sighed, a small smile appearing on her face.
Gam and (Name) exchanged looks as they wondered how the Queen was able to easily convince Impa to stall training for the day.
“Come on you two, let’s go set the table for her,” Eurydice nudged the two forward for them to get a move on.
And that was only the beginning of some of the most unlikely events of our young adventurers' lives.

ok ok i DO have to address what the fuck demise is and also how demise became ganondorf and also what the fuck is ganon, so buckle up this is going to be ... a blend of mythology ride :) also this stems from more conversations with @perditos about literally everything because i guess we are just going to galaxy brain everything together now (which is honestly so valid)
so, ok, the short version is demise is both angra mainyu all the world's evils and hades at the SAME TIME, this is not at all to say that hades is an evil entity because he is very much NOT, but demise is a very funky blend and this is about demise.
the longer version is as follows.
so basically way back when like EONS ago when the three goddesses were making the entire everything, there were of course other gods both great and minor that existed. of these great gods, demise was one of them. after hashing things out however gods do, demise was given "the world buried in the earth" as his domain, where he ruled absolute. in modern days, his realm is called the realm of the dead, and the reason demise was ok with this is because he knew that eventually everyone would belong to his kingdom and he would in fact rule everything, and for real he was power hungry from the start. but not inherently evil.
the war between demise and his forces and hylia and her forces didn't start immediately- in fact, demise quite liked hylia, in the same way that hades likes persephone but a little to the left. demise wanted to have hylia as his own, and he went about it in a really weird not good way. demise made his attempts at courting hylia, of trying to bring her to his kingdom, where the light came from distant stars rather than the sun, where there was no more suffering, because all pains of life had been relinquished to death- but in this, it also meant that the joys of life had also been relinquished, and in the end that is still rather tragic. and things didn't work well.
in that same vein, the literal god of death trying to explore the land of the living just brought A LOT OF DEATH! who would've guessed! and demise was branded an evil born of the heart of the planet, and things just kept getting worse. so the war happens and demise and hylia engage in battle and by this point, demise has decided he ISN'T going to wait for everything to eventually die and to be the king of everything, he's just going to take things while they're still ALIVE and that's literally not what the agreement was at all, so literally No One wanted that (except demise, and even then, that's complicated and will be addressed a little later in this post)
demise unleashes his spirit warriors on the land of the living and literally the only thing that can be done is to seal this shit away because you can't kill what's already dead. but sealing demise isn't an easy task, he's one of the great gods, although eventually he would come to be known as "the calamity" (where the angra mainyu all the worlds evils comes in)- anyway demise decides that since hylia is opposing him, if he kills her then she can't oppose him because by what the gods hashed out, he is ruler absolute of all that exists in the realm of the dead. also he thought that maybe if he killed her he'd finally have her for himself because also she would be part of his domain WELL that also didn't go to plan at all. demise killed hylia and shit just didn't ... uh. it didn't work like that. because of course it didn't.
hylia enters the cycle of being born mortal. as far as demise knows, she continues to reincarnate- because where her blood exists, her vibes exist, and also she exists in the life of the land and is always there to oppose him so he makes the ASSUMPTION that any time he encounters hylia's blood, it must be hylia herself, even if that's NOT true- and for a while, he continued to just demolish things as a god until he decided on a completely different tactic, because huh maybe he could do this if he followed what he thinks hylia did, and enters the cycle of reincarnation.
( for note, the body of the god still sits on the throne in the kingdom of the dead, and he isn't dead at all, but what sits there is essentially an empty shell, because demise threw his own power into the reincarnation cycle. this is where the reincarnation of ganondorf comes in. )
it's just like a power hungry deity to pick a powerful race to be born into, so he picks the gerudo, because they're badass and also don't care about gender norms and that's also a deity move right there. so every 100 years, the stars align or some shit and a child is born and that child is demise. to the gerudo, the child is king of kings by birth. and no, the child isn't always male gods don't care about that, but for some reason the child always grows into the role of ganondorf dragmire no matter what name they start with. oh, and the super fun part is each incarnation continues to remember the past lives, so that's really great isn't it!
also the fact that this cycle happens every 100 years means that the god avatar doesn't live that long, because it isn't like a cycle of the new one is born when the old one dies. the oldest king of kings was a man at the ripe old age of 54 when he was slain on the battlefield. the youngest was an overeager nonbinary individual of seventeen, eager to prove themselves by rushing headfirst to fight the hero in their maiden battle.
by the time where ganondorf comes to uhhh yeet rauru (or attempt to), there still have been plenty of reincarnation cycles before, and he has all of those memories under his belt so he knows that he can't just use the same goddamn tactics to get what he wants- he learns from his mistakes in a way, but doesn't seem to learn that UHHHH he is not going to have hyrule basically Ever, thanks- but anyway he's a hero of his people and a legendary warrior and he's 35, but he fights like someone who has thousands of years of experience and it's because he DOES!!! and he's well aware of the power he holds, that he doesn't need a sacred stone to amplify it, but as demise, he can't help but be tempted anyway.
it's this insatiable hunger for MORE POWER that eventually creates ganon, which is essentially the divine power overwhelming the confinement of the "mortal" body. this entity often takes the form of a massive wild boar, like in the princess mononoke demon boar vibe but like now bass-boost that by 100, but sometimes it takes the form of a dragon. but, since ganon is a manifestation of raw power, it can't function without having a vessel- which means yes! ganondorf is essentially used as the heart of a primordial power, and to stop ganon, the hero has to find a way to kill ganondorf who exists deep within the equivalent of like a solar storm. it's NOT easy, which is why the hero has courage lmao.
it IS possible to stop ganon without killing ganondorf, but that means letting ganon rampage until ganondorf has burnt off the overloaded power, or trying to reason with him- which uh. neither of those are really ... options that anyone thinks of in the moment. it's easier if he's caught in the early stages of the transformation, because he does have ways of just letting out excess divine power that aren't like. world crushing, that's literally why he's also a sorcerer on top of being a warrior. anyway uhhh yeah that's the ... not so brief overview of this mess thanks for coming to my tedtalk

Ok au lore dump time! This is for hero of the wild specifically
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Hero of the Stars/Hero of the Wilds
-Real name: Link Merlin Pearce
-Nickname (he uses this before he meets the other heroes, and even around the other champions and Zelda, since he was warned of the meeting w/ the other heroes by the sheikah monks) is Orion
-Champion of Vah Epona (master cycle zero with some changes for the sake of making it more than just a horse replacement)
-Was good friends with the Ganondorf of his time before he became calamity ganon
*Pre-second calamity*
-Was de-aged to about 10 the first time he entered the shrine of resurrection in an attempt to hide him and his divine beast from the culling of sheikah technology.
-Silent knight before the 2nd calamity hits, doesnt have memory loss from his first trip into the shrine, as it was used for stasis rather than healing. He did have some injuries though but they healed naturally
-He was close with both Revali and Mipha and viewed Princess Zelda as a little sister/younger cousin as he was related to the Zelda of 10,000 years prior,
-He understands king rhoam’s insistence towards zelda figuring out her powers, but thinks that he is forgetting that he is not only a king but a parent as well.
-Refers to his cousin(10k zelda) as Ursa, to avoid confusing himself and others.
-Carries both Power and Courage with him, as Ganondorf gave his piece in a last ditch attempt to keep Demise’s remnant from holding it
-Helped to design a failsafe for malice within ancient technology, though that information was never found so he was unable to help with it
-Purah and him have the weirdest conversations and no one understands it
-Him and revali at first disliked eachother, though about 3 months before the calamity hits they come to some kind of understanding and become good friends.
-Urbosa scares the shit out of him. He avoids making her angry at all costs. (friends with a gerudo named Anero 10,000 years prior, former gerudo champion, was 90% of his impulse control)
-Mipha and Revali make up most of his impulse control before the calamity hits again.
*During second calamity*
-Follows the same lines as breath of the wild canon.
-His scars from the guardian lasers glow with an eerie light at night, as if his spirit is going to leave his body at any given moment.
-His eyes have always done weird glowy shit though thats just a him thing
-Moves silently, with or without sheikah armor. Remembers things non-linearly. Only clarification for what memory is from where is how much technology is in it.
-His flurry rush ability is actually true time manipulation from the triforce of courage.
-He thinks its really weird that people thought him and Minerva(Botw Zelda) had a romantic rather than platonic relationship.
-unnerving to see at night. Mans turns into a glowstick

sorry to be annoying actually n i cannot expand on this bc i have work to get a bus for like Right Now but considering gi is like Well Known to be inspired by/a botw knock off i think theres smth to maybe chew on wrt loz’s whole thing being abt this reincarnation cycle and the regular iterations of the triforce trio’s fate and how a lot of deeper genshin lore explores ideas like fate being unchangeable/unavoidable as well (‘written in the stars’/sky, mona during summer fantasia talks about this) and also there’s the theory of the world of teyvat being stuck in a time loop of sorts/history repeating itself (ventis introductory voiceline, the traveller’s sibling literally telling them they have to go through the same journey they did 500 years ago to understand) and how maybe the maligned entities (ganondorf, khaenriah + by extension kaeya) in both these scenarios deserve a bit more grace/sympathy wrt their actions and choices they make when it seems like the gods and their whole world and even fate itself seem to actively be conspiring against them.

the gay pirate flag show~, legend of zelda, unsounded, suitor armor, star wars + pick your poison
From this most dangerous ask prompt. Salt for each under the cut. Half thoughtful attention to my favorite medias and half proof that I'm simply contrary.
Our Flag Means Death
5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
Sadly, fandom has largely trashed my appreciation for Steddyhands (the ot3, you know). When I first saw it, I was instantly intrigued! They looked so happy; I wanted to know more! But the majority of what I found at the time was 'perfectly healthy Ed/Stede where they have to housetrain that awful Izzy,' and that was such a turn-off. I have found just enough good content since that I don't immediately scroll past the stuff, but it remains dire out here.
19. What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom?
It's the deadly combo of the way people make Izzy out to be the very devil with the way they make BLACKBEARD out to be an uwu sad boy who can't help his own actions. This comes as a package deal more often than not, and I can't stand any of it. Can't they just be a couple of homicidal assholes?
Legend of Zelda
16. If you could change anything in the show, what would you change?
This Hylia and Demise stuff? Would be gonzo. Wind Waker probably had one of the best, most heartbreaking approaches to the cycle, and I want to keep canon along those lines. Less ancient spirits manifesting as people to duke out their cosmic battle. More people born into roles they struggle to understand and resist. Zelda as a smart woman who questions her own destiny. Ganondorf as a Gerudo, in a way where that context informs his actions, not where he's just some incarnated demon disguised as a Gerudo.
Unsounded
13. Unpopular opinion about XXX character?
DUANE ADELIER FUCKS. HE FUCKED THEN AND HE FUCKS NOW. AND I WOULD FUCK HIM
11. Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?
Probably all of them. Cope just makes baller characters that I love to see, excepting the occasional 2D hate-target like Starfish. In particular: people can't wrap their minds around Bastion's mad scientist morality, but the fact is he's fantastic both as a character and as an entertaining, badass drama queen; and several people got nasty at Leysa for remarrying, but she ALWAYS has my full support. She's always done what makes sense for her, and she is full of love.
Suitor Armor
7. Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now?
Honestly? The protagonist is on thin ice. And it's not because she's a bad character; I'm having a great time writing Lucia in my ongoing fic. It's the protagonist bias in the story. We get so few scenes away from her, because only what Lucia does matters, yet she does so little. It's a slow court romance story. Not a lot of plot. Which is fine, but it means following one person around gets boring, and giving a single person all the narrative weight in a fantasy court setting is a weird move. Most of all, I'm getting impatient with the way the narrative supports everything she does as absolutely correct, no consequences to be found.
23. Unpopular character you love?
The villain, of course! Every single time he shows up, I think of the line, "Have you thanked a villain for your plot today?" He's fun. He has style. But most importantly, he's carrying the plot on his back and I'm grateful for some juicy conflict in between the scenes of pining. A lot of fans hate him because they think a cartoon guy should be judged on real life morality. You've seen the type of fan
Star Wars
6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?
I never hated Reylo, but fandom definitely cannonballed me from casually liking it to actively, deeply enjoying it. 99% of my dash became utterly obnoxious whining about how Reylo, the basic baby's first enemies-to-lovers, was scandalously abusive, etc. Out of annoyance, I really dug into the themes and AUs, and I super enjoyed myself!
10. Most disliked arc? Why?
If I ever meet Dave Filoni and His Cronis, they will all pay for the pacifist Mandalore arc.

WWE 2K24 Cover Star Cody Rhodes Shares Zelda Opinions And His Most Anticipated Games Of 2024
New Post has been published on https://thedigitalinsider.com/wwe-2k24-cover-star-cody-rhodes-shares-zelda-opinions-and-his-most-anticipated-games-of-2024/
WWE 2K24 Cover Star Cody Rhodes Shares Zelda Opinions And His Most Anticipated Games Of 2024
Tumblr media
This past weekend, I traveled to Tampa/St. Peterburg, FL, to attend WWE’s Royal Rumble and to play WWE 2K24 at a special preview event. You can look for my hands-on impressions and video footage of my gameplay on Thursday, February 1. But while I was there, I had the chance to chat with one of 2K24’s cover stars and the winner of the 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble match, Cody Rhodes.
The “American Nightmare” is a lifelong gamer and professed Zelda fanatic (fun fact: during his early WWE run in ‘07-’08, his wrestling boots sported the Triforce logo). So I decided to forgo any wrestling questions and spent the few precious minutes I had with Cody getting his take on Tears of the Kingdom, how Majora’s Mask stacks up compared to his favorite Zelda game, Ocarina of Time and asked what game he’s most looking forward to playing in 2024.
Game Informer: I know you’re a big Zelda fan, so I gotta ask: did you play Tears of the Kingdom, and if so, what do you think?
Cody Rhodes: Yeah, I went right through it. So I feel like Breath of the Wild and Tears of Kingdom are one game because they’re so huge. Like, you don’t ever need to play another Zelda ever again if you’re playing Tears of the Kingdom. I mean, just with the Depths, hunting all the damn Lynels down, and the Lynels just get harder as I get older, which makes me feel like I’m out of touch with gaming itself. But I really liked the story. We wanted more story with Breath of the Wild, we got some of that story with Ganondorf. But they did the right thing in terms of [realizing] “they still want more. Still want more.” And I just think we’re in a kind of golden age of the games that I grew up loving. Metal Gear Solid and Zelda, you’re seeing remakes, you’re seeing remasters, potentially an animated or a live-action movie. To me, I can’t ask for a better thing because we gave all this energy as fans to it, and it can still continue on, you know?
GI: Yeah, for sure. I’m playing Majora’s Mask for the first time for a video feature for my website. Is that a favorite of yours? I know you’re a big Ocarina of Time fan, but where do you land a Majora’s Mask?
Rhodes: So Majora’s Mask is a masterpiece. I get mad at it because people try to say it’s better than Ocarina of Time. I feel like they’re also one game, but Majora’s Mask for what it did with the cycle, the three-day cycle, and things changing with the night and day, there’s still some games in this era who aren’t getting that right. Like, it had a Red Dead-level nuance to it for a Nintendo 64 game. Love Majora’s Mask.
Tumblr media
Myself and Cody (rocking a trademark expensive suit) hang at the WWE 2K24 event. Side note: his loafers were incredible.
GI: I don’t know how much time you have to play games now, but do you have a game that you’re looking forward to coming out this year or anything that you haven’t gotten to in your backlog?
Rhodes: I’ll jump forward and say 2K24 for sure because I’ve only gotten a little bit of a taste of it and have been amazed. But the big one for me is [Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater]. And then, hopefully, I wonder if we’ll get a Metal Gear Collection Volume 2 because I know a lot of people want to see Metal Gear Solid 4 playable on modern consoles. So here’s hoping.
WWE 2K24 launches on March 8 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

ganondorf?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i haven’t answered this question cuz i honest to god have absolutely nothing to say about ganondorf. so instead @ghangajii is going to guest star in this answer for reasons that will quickly become obvious
-
(because all the other characters that you all sent to zack are basically contained within one game ie: BOTW and ganondorf is generally in a lot of LoZ games i'm mainly gonna refer to gerudo ganon except OOT ganon cause i hate him)
favorite thing about them:
He's a fucking DILF bro have you SEEN him I will forever be grateful for the creation of Hyrule Warriors cause it gave him the sexiest red mane to ever exist
least favorite thing about them:
He doesn't exist
favorite line:
Tumblr media
brOTP:
I've read quite a couple of "ganon good" fics where Ganon and Nabooru were best friends and I can get behind that
OTP:
: ) ganlink. if any of zack's followers follow me then you probably know how much of a revalink nut i was (still am) but ganlink also courses through my veins
NOTP:
pretty much any pairing where with ganon where the writer just wants to write noncon or anything like that lol like i get that he's supposed to be evil but you could also just
Not do that
also i've seen people do ganon / link / sidon and im just like... why. but thats mainly cause i hate sidon
random headcanon / unpopular opinion:
i actually have this whole au in my head where in a certain reincarnation cycle demise removes himself from his mortal form (ganon) and wreaks havoc on his own so ganondorf is basically just a normal gerudo king and isn't evil or anything. For that ganon I basically see him as someone who seems extremely intimidating and scary but can actually be very kind and charming if you get very close to him (problem is nobody ever really does except perhaps a certain hylian swordsman). He's also pretty overprotective of the people he cares about. i'm not a writer so that's about as in depth as i go with my ideas lol
song i associate with them:
gucci gang
jk probably power
undefined
youtube
favorite picture of them:
literally any picture from the rehydrated ganondorf renaissance that shit was heaven on earth

Prisoner: Chapter 3 - The Beginning of the End
Surprise! It’s a new chapter of Prisoner! It’s a little on the short side, but I think it accomplishes everything I wanted to do with this scene. Plus it was a nice way to ease back into writing after being so busy that I wasn’t able to for a while.
(Here’s a link to the posting on AO3 as well)
Enjoy!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ganondorf stood atop a mountain overlooking the vast Gerudo Desert. Below him the dust storms swirled and raged with violent indifference, and above him the stars burned brightly in the great sea of blackness. His cape blew gently behind him, and his black armor, inscribed with Gerudo runes of power, gleamed softly in the glow of the moon.
It has been a long time since I stood here, the Demon King thought to himself. A long time since I looked like this.
It was true. The King of Thieves looked much younger than the ancient and weathered form he had grown accustomed to, and he stood in a way that exuded youthful confidence. This was the Ganondorf Dragmire of a long forgotten past. A past that had created a shockwave that reverberated throughout time. This was the Ganondorf Dragmire who had slain the Great Deku Tree, the King of Hyrule, and many others in order to acquire that which called to him so strongly.
A dark voice that dripped with venom spoke from within the Gerudo King.
“You know what must be done.”
He nodded.
“I will acquire it, do not fear. This land will burn and our glory will surpass even that of the goddesses.”
The voice laughed.
“The goddesses? Those pathetic fools know nothing of power. They are but tools wielded by Hylia, nothing more. When we are finished, none shall even remember their names.”
Ganondorf sighed. He knew how this ended. He acquired he Triforce, it was true, but in the end he failed. He always failed. But this body knew that not. It would be sealed in the Golden Realm for eons, its hatred tainting even that most holy of realms until it became a dimension of twisted suffering and evil. It would swear foolish vengeance upon the descendants of those who had sealed it away, beginning an endless cycle of achieving the surest of victories before being swiftly handed the most humiliating of defeats. The Twilight, the Great Sea, the newfound Hyrule – they were all doomed to be added to his long list of failures.
On the back of his hand glowed the mark of the Triforce of Power. He was surprised it stayed with him, considering how unsuccessful he had been. He supposed he stayed worthy through sheer force of will and determination, its power possibly being satisfied with the bursts of victory he achieved between defeats. It bestowed upon him the power of a god and rendered him nigh invincible, keeping him alive despite the numerous mortal wounds he had received throughout the ages.
Maybe it was time it left.
Maybe he was ready for it to go.
Shaking his head, he looked outwards at his beloved desert. He had hated this place when he was young. It was harsh, temperamental, and utterly indifferent to he and his people. He had convinced himself he had given himself to the dark in order to save his kinsmen – that he was doing this for the greater good and the survival of the Gerudo, that he was leading them to a world where they could finally thrive. Now he admitted the truth. He had lusted for power, for greatness – and he would go on to do anything to achieve it. He would even murder his own people in order to become the King of Evil he so aspired to be.
Now he wished he could return to the time before this began. He wished he’d never given in to the soul the dwelt next to his own.
He wished for peace.
With one last nostalgic look at the dunes, Ganondorf Dragmire turned to where he had left his beloved Nabooru and their horses. She smiled at him as she stroked the mane of his horse, and he felt a tear well up in his eye.
He walked past her and back into the void he shared with the Princess, looking once again like the aged and weary Demon King. He collapsed into his armchair and put his head in his hands, his mane looking duller as it cascaded around him.
He wept.

Wild SSBU guessing
Just taking wild stabs at characters that might or might not make the roster. Most of these will be some of the popular characters that people have wanted in Smash 4 (as we’ve seen with Daisy, Ridley, Chrom, Dark Samus, and King K. Rool).
First, Echo Fighters of currently-confirmed fighters.
- Ninten (Ness): Likely uses Lucas’s PK Freeze for the standard special, since EarthBound Beginnings doesn’t have PK Flash. - Special moves: PK Freeze, PK Fire, PK Thunder, PSI Magnet - Final Smash: PK Beam Gamma - Black Shadow (Captain Falcon): I’m...not sure how to differentiate him enough from Ganondorf. Maybe just make him mostly like Melee Ganondorf? - Special moves: Shadow Punch, Dark Boost, Evil Dive, Wicked Kick - Final Smash: Black Bull - Impa (Sheik): Hopefully Skyward Sword design so she can use that blue energy to generate her tools. - Special moves: similar to Sheik’s specials - Final Smash: same as Sheik - Shadow (Sonic): Looking hopeful with Richter’s big reveal. Maybe use Chaos energy to expand the reach of his attacks - they could also be slower but stronger. Up special could be a teleport, like from Mewtwo or Palutena. - Special moves: Homing Attack, Spin Dash, Chaos Warp, Spin Charge - Final Smash: Chaos Blast - Celica (Robin): Main differences I can see are: use only Beloved Zofia (better than Bronze Sword, but weaker than Levin Sword), magic in special moves and weak attacks do some damage to herself, and use a variant of Marth’s Counter with Plenitude for refilling health. - Special moves: Ragnarok (like Arcthunder without charge), Seraphim (like Arcfire), Excalibur (pretty much just Elwind), Plenitude - Final Smash: Ragnarok Omega - Octoling (Inkling): The only real difference would be weapons. I’ll guess Octo Shot (which is exactly the same as a Splattershot, really), Octobrush, Range Blaster, Bloblobber (to add range to the smash attacks), Carbon Roller (faster than Splat Roller, but can’t bury), and Burst Bomb (explodes on contact with anything). - Special moves: Octo Shot, Carbon Roller, Super Jump, Burst Bomb - Final Smash: Tenta Missiles (works like Snake’s FS)
Now general newcomers (with possible Echo Fighters to go with them).
- Paper Mario: People have wanted him for the longest time. - He could take cues from all his starring games. Maybe Spin Smash, Tornado Jump, and Quake Hammer for smash attacks... - The spin dash from the first Paper Mario as a dash attack... - Specials moves: Hurlhammer, Paper Plane, Spring Jump, ??? - Final Smash: Fan Thing (mash button for more damage, like in Sticker Star and Color Splash) - Geno: Many found it suspect that the Geno costume in Smash 4′s DLC season got a special mention. Perhaps it’s a step closer to making Geno playable? Or Assist Trophy, but we all know what the people want. - Could be a projectile normal user for some attacks, like with Villager. - Special moves: Geno Beam, Geno Whirl, Geno Blast, Geno Boost - Final Smash: Geno Flash - Bandanna Dee: Popularity card. - Could primarily use his Spear, but might use some Parasol moves as well (like in Kirby Battle Royale). - Special moves: Spear Throw, Circus Throw (grab), Spear Copter, Parasol Twirl - Final Smash: Megaton Punch - Gardevoir: Some leak a month ago predicted King K. Rool, Richter, and Dark Samus (under Samus, he said) in some demo build, along with code names for “Mario2“, Gardevoir, and Gothitelle. Could have been coincidence, but I’ll humor it. Gardevoir does have the popularity card, after all, and can fill in that Gen-3 niche in the roster. - Side smash could be a “small black hole“, with a vacuum effect that draws foes in before sending them flying. - Special moves: Future Sight, Dazzling Gleam, Trick Room, Reflect - Final Smash: Moonblast (Mega Evolves) - Echo Fighter: Gothitelle: This would also fill the Gen-5 niche, I think. And this wouldn’t be the first time Gardevoir and Gothitelle were seen together (Black/White anime, with Anthea and Concordia). - Special moves: Future Sight, Dark Pulse, Trick Room, Reflect - Final Smash: Shattered Psyche - Primarina: Not ignoring the Gen-7 niche, either. Honestly, this could be any of the Alolan starters, but I personally REALLY want Primarina the most. - Special moves: Sparkling Aria, Disarming Voice, Aqua Jet, Icy Wind - Sparkling Aria could generate some water balloons, which Primarina can send flying around with attacks, footstool jump off of, or detonate by using Sparkling Aria again. - Disarming Voice would be a projectile. If it makes contact with a water balloon, it can split into three projectiles through it. - Icy Wind would push foes at mid-range, or freeze them at close-range. - Final Smash: Oceanic Operetta - Alm: Not a high priority, but since Ultimate brought in the lead three of Awakening, then I don’t think I could guess Celica without Alm as well. - He always has a shield, so he could use that for some super-armored normal attacks. And he might be heavier than any other Fire Emblem fighter (since he’s in full armor all the time). One special could also use a bow (which he can use as a Hero/Conqueror). - Special moves: Double Lion, Hunter Volley, Windsweep, Pavise - Pavise here isn’t a counter, but a shield bash that can parry direct attacks, leaving foes open, and maybe also nullify projectiles. - Final Smash: Scendscale - Isabelle: Popularity card. Though I’m not sure what she’d do...Maybe set things around the arena, like small buildings? - Rex: Xenoblade 2 development started in mid-2014, so there must have been plenty of time to acquire him, I’m sure. - Pyra/Mythra might not be on-stage all the time - just for certain moves, like smash attacks and throws (kinda like with Peach’s Toad). But since Rex can change their form in battle, he could use this to become a sort of stance-change fighter. - Pyra’s version of the Aegis Sword could focus on damage and range, while Mythra’s version focuses on attack speed and launch power. - Smash attacks can use Pyra and Mythra’s Blade Specials. - Side smash: Flame Nova/Lightning Buster - Up smash: Blazing End/Photon Edge - Down smash: Prominence Revolt/Ray of Punishment - Special moves: Anchor Shot (grab), Rolling Smash, Crushing Typhoon (with Roc), Blade Switch - Final Smash: Chain Attack - Wonder-Red: Popularity card. Also, there’s already two Wonderful 101 tracks in the game, so why not? - His main feature could be Unite Charge to buff up his Unite Hand’s power for certain moves, like smash attacks, throws, and at least one special. Using these moves, or taking too much damage, will weaken the duration of Unite Hand’s current level. - Smash attacks could be based on Wonderful Stinger, Wonderful Rising, and Wonderful Cyclone. A full-charged smash attack with max Unite Charge level could be dangerously powerful. - Special moves: Unite Hand Flame, Team Unite Morph, Wonder-Jump, Unite Charge - Team Unite Morph can cycle between Wonder-Red’s allies to summon for different effects (or hold to cycle through faster). - Wonder-Blue’s Unite Sword can use a broad reflecting slash. - Wonder-Green’s Unite Gun can fire a few projectiles. - Wonder-Pink’s Unite Whip can reel a foe in closer. - Wonder-Yellow’s Unite Hammer can deal a strong meteor smash. - Wonder-White’s Unite Claw can trap foes in a rapid claw combo. - Wonder-Black’s Unite Bomb can inflict slow status on foes. - Final Smash: Wonderful Forever - Spring Man: Eh, might as well throw this one in. He seems to be one of the more expected Switch characters to join, though also one of the most controversial. - Weak attack might operate differently, by throwing one ARM forth at a time and returning as soon as it hits a foe. You can throw the other ARM out while the other one is flying, and you can repeat this for a while. - Strong attacks could have variable range depending on whether you tap or hold the button. Tap deals a fast close-range punch, and hold deals a long-range punch with more power at the apex. - Smash attacks could use the Megaton ARM. Charge determines how far out it goes. - Special moves: Boomerang ARM, Grappling ARMS (grab), Bounce-Back, ARMS Charge - Boomerang ARM can be curved tightly on input. - ARMS Charge will give a temporary boost to Spring Man’s ARM attacks with different effects. The standard Toasty ARMS for his normal attacks gain damage power, the Boomerang ARM gains launch power, and the Megaton ARM becomes larger and stronger. - ARMS Charge itself can emit a shockwave to repel most attacks and let him drop quickly in midair. - Final Smash: Rush Attack - Echo Fighter: Ribbon Girl: I’ve seen so many people want Ribbon Girl either instead of Spring Man, as an alt of Spring Man, or with Spring Man. Well, with Echo Fighters, the latter could happen. - Main difference, I think, would be her Sparky ARMS and Slapamander ARM. Sparky ARMS, with ARMS Charge, wouldn’t gain damage but a light paralyzing effect. Slapamander wouldn’t curve as tightly as Boomerang, but its hitbox would be big, and its ARMS Charge effect would be extra damage. - Also, her ARMS Charge wouldn’t have the shockwave, but she could drop down even faster. - Special moves: Slapamander ARM, Grappling ARMS (grab), Bounce-Back, ARMS Charge - Final Smash: Rush Attack
And finally, a few third-party characters that I expect will be big picks.
- Shantae: With Shovel Knight in the Assist Trophies, I think Shantae is the biggest indie pick now. And WayForward has publicly given support for Shantae for Smash. - Banjo-Kazooie: There’s quite a bit of Rare stuff in Smash now - King K. Rool, Klaptrap, and Krystal in her Adventures appearance. So this duo seems quite likely. The support has also been given Microsoft’s blessings. - Sora: ...I mean, if Disney allows it, then he could happen. He’s been requested ever since Brawl, after all. But I suppose Final Fantasy would take first priority for Square-Enix in Smash - now that Cloud’s in, anything else from them goes, I guess. - Since I know so much about Kingdom Hearts, I can actually think of some Smash moves for Sora. He’s got a lot of combo steps that he can use for normal attacks and stuff. - Special moves: Strike Raid, Tornado Strike, Flowmotion, Ragnarok - Final Smash: Salvation - Echo Fighter: Riku: My wildest Echo Fighter guess, I know. Still, the two games where Riku co-starred with Sora as a playable hero debuted on Nintendo handhelds, so that could be enough significance to make him an Echo? - Special moves: Spark Raid, Gravity Strike, Flowmotion, Dark Firaga - Final Smash: Dark Aura - Amaterasu: Just another Kamiya pick thrown in just because. Okami was pretty popular on Wii and now Switch, after all, and I’ve seen her requested a lot. - She’ll likely just attack with Divine Retribution for most of her moves, but could use the Devout Beads Rosary and the Tsumugari Glaive for a few other attacks, along with Power Slash. - Special moves: Firestorm, Cherry Bomb, Greensprout, Solar Flare - With Firestorm, draw a path to set off a trail of fire. Or, draw an infinity symbol around Amaterasu to use Inferno, a strong attack focused around Amaterasu’s vicinity. - Greensprout has different effects on the ground and in the air. On the ground, it grows a small tree in front to block attacks. In the air, it uses a vine and a Konohana Blossom to pull Amaterasu to safety. - Solar Flare is primarily a reflecting move, but if it intercepts a direct attack right at the start, she’ll counterattack with an explosive flare. - Final Smash: Sunrise (might be somewhat like Rosalina & Luma’s Power Star)
...And, that is my nonsensical ramble on characters I’d like to see in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Obviously, I don’t expect ALL of these in. Just some of them, at least.

Smash Bros. Ideas, Vol. II
Tumblr media
Hello. Generally, I go by Wolfman, or Wolfman Jew on the internet. Back in 2014, I started this Tumblr by discussing ideas for possible music that could be used in what was, at the time, the next Super Smash Bros. That led to a sizable project the next year where I looked at possible DLC characters in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS & Wii U, a project which then led to my joining the Nintendo themed news and criticism site Source Gaming while abandoning my blog here. I’ve felt bad about that, and the new announcement of a new Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo Switch feels like the ideal opportunity to come back.
I’ll be doing one post a day to discuss, well, anything, really. I want to get back into daily writing projects, but I’m not quite sure if any specific direction works for me. So instead, this will just be me shooting the breeze about Smash Bros. a little each day. This post will be a collection of this. I’ll link to it with each post I write, and I’ll try to keep this as a daily affair. If people would be interested in me talking about other stuff - the chances of their favorite characters, what kinds of stages would be best - I’d love to hear any suggestions.

@dragmiire whispered:                               ( unprompted asks ------ always accepting ! )
has ray ever tried to take the fate of hyrule into his own hands, whether it be by pulling strings in the background or outright reaching out to link or zelda? in contrast, has he ever considered running from hyrule to live in a land far from it?

RAY AND TRYING TO CHANGE HYRULE’S FATE:
Tumblr media
I know for a fact he’s thought about it. Ray is very tired of the cycle and all of the wars - but there is no way he could convince the princess of hyrule what’s to come without revealing what he is.  ( I mean he can.......... Zelda and Link will be chill but my son is an emo edge lord so..........he’s gonna brood in the corner. )  but even if he can predict where demise would come from that still doesn’t stop the cycle. Sure, he could wish on the Triforce, but he’s not a balanced man. Even if he found it, It would split off to their respected wielders just kickstarting the cycle.
He almost used the Triforce - during the Imprisoning War ( the events before ALTTP ) he traveled to the sacred realm to use it selfishly to be human again. Ofc Ganon got it first but ya know, good try ray. Gold star for effort !!!
Another idea was taking the Master Sword and killing Ganondorf before he even becomes the King of Evil. The cycle can’t happen without him. To quote bioshock infinite :  Go back to when he was born and smother the son of a bitch in his crib . Of course, Ray cannot use the master sword, and even if he stole it from Link after he removes it from the temple -- it would hurt him. He’s demonic. Technically he’s evil.
I can see turning into the bad guy tm for a zelda game because of this. Unhinged like rat man from AOC but hellbent on ending the cycle no matter the cost.

RAY LEAVING HYRULE:
Tumblr media
I really can’t see Ray willingly leave Hyrule. He has battled for this land and it’s people over and over again that he’s literally all of it’s history. He considers all of Hyrule to be his home, since he has to move around so often when people realize he’s not aging. Even though it changes and shifts things around so much he still loves it. He watched the kingdom be born. He helped build Hyrule Castle. The villages. probably some temples.  And he’s watched it die. ( the events of WW, going from old hyrule to new hyrule in ST )
I think at this point it’s an extreme loyalty with stubbornness that keeps him in Hyrule. Even when Hyrule drowns in WW he refuses to leave it, staying under the sea until he is forced out.

Another #Nintendoswitch game I want but not sure if it will exist:
Hyrule, legendless.
Dispute what Game theorists or others might say, I have my own theories about Breath of the Wilds time line placement.
#spoilers, just in case.
But to me it makes sense that with all the references in every nook and cranny in hyrule, it just makes sense to me that Breath of the Wilds is where all the time lines converge.
Keep in mind that when you introduce the complicated nonsense of I'm travel into your media...it's easy for things to go to hell in a hand basket. We see this in self contained senarios throughout hyrule history: Orcarina, Majora's Mask, AND skyward sword are just examples of games with ridiculous time traveling wackiness. Never mind in how breath of the Wilds, the very premonitions of the seer that told how to fight Gannon, is exactly what allowed Gannon to take over. Sometimes seeing or playing with time to avoid an event is what CAUSES it. (Prequel Starwars movies Anikin Style).
The idea that with so many references and ret cons and Yada Yada leading up to some version of breath of the wild happens in EVERY time line, or all time lines, makes sense. And this is really the only time line theory that could accept temporal parodoxes (like ALL the dlc swag) and still be coherent. Well, coherent as the Canon of 30 year plus game series can be.
It maakes further sense that if what pushed Gannon to stop renicarnating was he was aware he was losing ACROSS TIMELINES. Like, it's one thing to lose. It's another thing to be confronted wih the idea that no matter what happens, even if you SUCCEED here or there, you'd still lose. That makes Gannon motivation to break a cycle HE STARTED AS DEMISE (in skyward sword). He wasn't winning. Change the strategy. We KNOW he changes up the strategy from different incarnations in games already, and he has ridiculous powers cause ridiculous science/magic universe is ridiculous. AND it's his change up of strategy AGAIN that allows for Breath of the wild to even HAPPEN.
Plus, on the notes about the maps being inaccurate. "Legend" of Zelda. LEGEND. Impa makes on off hand comment when explaining the legend to you that "many legends of Gannon have been passed through the ages." How do we know what you play as is the RETELLING of the legends, and not just what factually happens?
I mean, it sounds like a narative cop out, but we are talking about 30 plus years of multiple games recorded and created on changing tech over DECADES. The idea there aren't rewrites or concept changes or thing they wanted to do but couldn't makes sense, and makes sense in game because you are playing a mythical character in a mythical setting. The idea that there wouldn't be parts to the story missing, or parts you don't experince (not everyone is a complitionist) would make sense for telling an arch this way.
So with all that, you have fragments of history you compile together to make sense of grand, confusing, illogical happenings that lead to one final battle, the precious of the series. Where the villain has abandoned humanity, the cycle is broken, and you defeat the dark lord for he last time. A thing foretold since before the cycles beginning, and after its end.
Why did I go on his big rant about why I think breath of the Wilds to be he last game on all time lines?
Really, I want a sequel to hyrule OUTSIDE of the cycle.
Gannon ' s dead. Thousands of years of history and struggle are over. What happens? What becomes of hyrule after the curse is broken? And the Demise or the world can no longer rise??
Well, there's theories and bustling that the original Zelda game's concept was supposed to be like chrono trigger. Hoping between time periods. Not just a medeaval fantasy, but one with modern or futuristic elements too. Not having the at the time, or other groups doing it better, makes sense how we got something else. World's with scince/magic and occasional time hoping world shifting, rather than actual time shift hoping. Like chrono trigger.
TL;DR: I think breath of the Wilds is the sequel to all time lines, and this is what I want in a potential, "post demise cycle" sequel:
-contemporary, modern, or futuristic hyrule
-Open world
-because the cycle is over, there's not a need for the hero and goddess per sé. Zelda and link still get reincarnated, but either:
It stars them and they are either completely normal folks without powers who must save the day/ must rekindle their powers over time
It stars a new character (character building and race choosing possibly???)
-bad guys using stories, data, and tech to read create old evils for their own needs. Either they want to take over the world/ make money by selling things people will buy to kill each other.
-leads to bringing old bosses and enemies back, but in a half tech/zombie half original form. (Imagine Ghriam, Zant, Majora, Yiga, twinrova or other villains brought back in a calamity Ganon kind of way, but be able to retain their personalities and things that made the unique more).
-villain ISN'T Gannon, Ganondorf, demise. It's a person who WANTS to be him, and you prevent them from doing so, able to truly move on from the past.
-you have to find, research, collect, and return certain relics as an archologist student/ hero to stop the big bads
-Open world
-weapons that were hinted at with sheka the now usable (chainsaws, there is one in breath of the wild) and motorbikes
-more outfits
