The Magical Mystery Tour launch party, Dec. 21 1967 — excerpts from Pauline Lennon:

John found another way of proffering the hand of peace by phoning his Dad one Sunday with an invitation to a fancy dress ball which was being held to mark the release of The Magical Mystery Tour and which was to take place on 21 December 1967 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.

‘You can wear what you like, but make sure it's a laugh,’ were John's orders.

‘Ive got it, I'll go as a dustman,’ exclaimed Freddie with sudden inspiration. ‘Then you can tell all your friends “My Old Man's a Dustman”’.

‘Typical of you,’ rejoined John. ‘It should be bloody great.’

'Come on, John, why not do a number while we’re waiting?’

‘Not bloody likely,’ he snapped, and then to my utter amazement he turned half-smiling to his father with the words, ‘How about you, Fred?’

The atmosphere immediately became electric, and I sensed from John's apprehensive expression that he may have immediately regretted his suggestion. Instinctively he wanted to be proud of his father and to prove to the world that he was OK. But he had chosen a very public occasion to put Freddie's talents to the test, and if things had gone wrong he might have felt rather humiliated. And humiliation was not something John was used to handling.

For Freddie, John's invitation was probably the greatest dilemma of his life. Here was the golden opportunity to prove himself to John by showing that he was an entertainer in his own right. But should he fail to come up with the goods, it was likely he would cause John even more embarrassment.

As I glanced back and forth at the anxious faces of father and son I realised the tremendous tension that each was suffering.

The evening had been a special one for both of them and it was not a time for mere words. Seated beside Freddie in the back of the Rolls, overcome by tiredness, John simply laid his head down on his father’s lap and allowed himself to be stroked. Time seemed erased and, as naturally as though they had never parted, for a full thirty minutes Freddie caressed the back of his son’s neck. As I observed father and son at last sharing a little of the love they had lost so many years before a lump rose in my throat.

Bad biographies: John Lennon's parents' divorce

One of the most discussed aspects of John Lennon's story is his parents and their lack of role in his life. John's broken family had a great influence over is personality and art, most notably his well-received Plastic Ono Band solo album.

John's parents did not divorce but they separated for 12 years.

Many people find this strange. Missing from discussion online is a sense of understanding to their position. I have heard people use this as evidence of Julia (John's mother) being irresponsible or erratic. In not divorcing her first husband her second family had to deal with a lot of stigma and other issues. I believe that this is either due to it not being explained well or absent from biographies and other sources.

John and his parents, Julia and Alfred. They seperated when John was about four, he lived with his aunt but would visit his mother often.

The short answer to this is that the 1969 Divorce Reform Act and the 1973 Matrimonial Causes Act created the divorce laws we would recognise today and there were many restrictions to divorce before that time.

Due to certain specifics of their situation and the law at that time Julia needed Alf to agree to a divorce. She was also greatly restricted by her financial situation and Alf being very difficult to locate.

During the sixties Alf would remarry. His second wife Pauline Jones would adapt his memoirs into a published book: Daddy Come Home: True Story of John Lennon and His Father by Pauline Lennon

Pages 96 and 99. According to them it was Alf who was the barrier to divorce. They were aware of Julia's repeated attempts to divorce, although too late because she had died before then. Alf states that it never occurred to him that they would divorce and would have agreed had he known. He claims that his younger brother Charlie rejected the divorce on his behalf, even the offer of quite a lot of money.

You cannot take what they say at face value. Alf is writing the memoir to clear his name in the eyes of John and the public, a relationship he was trying to repair. Pauline wants to defend her husband from perceived criticism and reassure her sons that their father was a good man.

That said, they could have been defensive and blamed others but instead they present regret over what happened. The accuracy may be doubtful, but Alf is most likely to blame and regrets this.

In particular the impact on John and his family would have been the shame of John's younger sisters being born illegitimately. People cared if somebody was a bastard in those days and as a couple their relationship was considered "living in sin". It may have influenced John to marry his girlfriend when she became pregnant to protect her and the baby, a young marriage that became difficult for them both.

When Julia died her next of kin was Alf and the girls were taken in by relatives rather than their father. The couple had false birth certificates and disguised themselves as a married couple to secure housing. The stress and shame of their situation must have been difficult and likely would have impacted John.

Satoru Gojo's life was simple to say the least.

He wakes up early in the morning then sleeps again after he did, only to be awaken again by his stupid alarm geto gifted him. He brushes his teeth, take a quick shower, leaves his comforter and bed messy. Eats half burnt toast and ready to go and teach young ungrateful brats.

He doesnt stay that much at home cause its boring, he always went out with his friends everyday.

To say this, his life cycle went on like that for the past...... 8-9 years give or take. its not that long, its just... time was too fast for his liking.

It all change because of you, could he blame himself liking the new principal's hot flamming cheetos of a secretary. You are so different, so refreshing to his eyes. You care about his ungrateful students, gives free coffee and cookies to the teachers once or twice a week and you cared about him.

It didn't take long for him to hit you up and knock you down.

He loved you so much and you do too, because of you everything change in his eyes. he start to care a little bit about his job just to see you walking down with that pencil skirt, eyeing you up and down. That would be a story for another time...

His morning routine changed too... from sleeping to waking up to sleeping again

Became.... awaking early just too see your sleeping face, admiring you, wiping that drool dripping from his naked chest. caressing your silky hair tangled because of idle moving, he was inlove.

Waking you up with kisses and feeling you giggle was a dream to him, how did he landed such an angel (be grateful to me gojo/hj)

Him teasing her daily from not getting up, her trying to carry his large ass figure to the bathroom. Only for her to give up and leave him teasingly, chasing each other then giving such loving wet kisses on each other's face. A dream...

Satoru became a lazy ass person. I mean he IS LAZY but became LAZIERZ to his girlfriend.

To the point you are the one whose brushing his teeth, straddling his waist and him supporting you from the counter. Looking lovingly to you while you brush his teeth gently, caressing your waist.

Being quite touchy but non-sexual shower schedule everyday, scrubbing his hair while him lathering soap to your body.

Everyday was movie night, watching the movies he recommended and his friends recommended. Watching you cook for the two of you, calculating bills and stacking folders of important documents at his apartment, Reading books together he doesnt read them he just watch you read them Having a mini concert every saturday at the shower, him trying to belt a high note COMPLETY FAILED.

Inviting his friends for dinner and bonding together, him meeting your parents when they visit the city.

In summary, we love a HOMEBODY BOYFRIEND !
