I had this idea to make a list of all the games I played in 2022, half as a recommendation list, and half because I struggle to remember when I played what. I have a really bad time ranking stuff, so I'll just list them chronologically (or, as chronologically as I can remember).
Note: Sometimes I dont have a lot to say about a game, but that doesnt mean I didn't like it or that it isn't good.
So, with that being said:
Tumblr media
1) Our Life: Beginnings and Always
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This game has put visual novels on another level entirely. How must I go on knowing that I will never be treated like royalty by any other game like this did. Our Life tells the story of your friendship and/or romance with Cove Holden, your new neighbor. This Visual Novel remembers an insane amount of stuff you choose, and it can put you in the state of mentioning something you did as a kid that you completely forgot about. I actually really liked how you can go the entire game as just friends, or choose when your character develops romantic feelings. I cannot overstate how well made this entire thing is. Can't wait to play the DLCs and for the sequel to be released.
Absolute recommend.
2) Iron Lung
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you have a computer, you can play it. It is not an option.
Claustrophobic above all, this game captures the pure dread of the unknown, building tension and atmosphere as you travel through this unknown planet's red sea. Highly recommended.
3) An Outcry
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Amazing game that I don't see enough people talking about. The first game that made me actually physically ill while playing an alternative route. I don't know what hit me the most, the subject matter or the type of person I played in that route, a person I know exists and maybe I've met, a person I hope I never become. I knew what the game was specifically referencing, but I found it good that it was able to trigger that response on someone who lives in an entirely different place, with different historical events, but with enough similarities that made the feeling of dread and disgust that much real. Its message is clear and loud as it should be, and one that I think maybe now more than ever needs to be heard. I cannot recommend this game enough.
4) Stillwater
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now this is a Visual Novel that I really liked and would have loved for it to be longer, but I love it as it is. It left me wanting more about the world and its characters, and I think that's a good thing. It feels unfair that this is the one I typed the least about, knowing how much I liked it. It's really worth the read/play.
5) The Caribbean Sail
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Have you ever wanted to be a sailor or a pirate? Have you ever wanted to grab a ship, sail into unknown destinations, encounter supernatural phenomenons and watch as your fellow crew members die of disentry five seconds after leaving your first port? Because if so, I have the perfect game for you. It's inspired by the Oregon Trail game, and that's literally what the gameplay is like, except on the sea. Which was enough of a selling point for me.
6) Carrion
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My child, it has every disease. Loved the concept when I saw the trailer, forgot I can actually buy games now, and then proceeded to do that. Being able to live my fantasies of being a flesh creature that destroys and eats everything in its path was a delight. The creature is my child and I love it very much.
We need more games that let you play as the monster, I'm serious.
7) The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This game is both my beloved and the thorn on my side. Who would have thought that in a game like this you would proceed to suffer through life? I said to myself as if I hadn't known what I was getting into. You'll experience loss, you'll struggle to make a name for yourself, your family will fall apart, and you may never kiss your best friend Tommas who gave you a totally platonic ring to commemorate your friendship because the game doesn't want you to.
Or you'll have a different experience than me on my first playthrough.
You follow the titular Sir Brante from the moment of his birth to his last breath, exploring the world he lives in, full of injustices that at times made me go "I do not care about the lots, give me a fucking gun so I can take you to the fucking Twins". There are many branches regarding life paths, the fate of your family and that of the entire city you live in. But don't worry about it now, keep looking at those toy soldiers at the store as a little kid, I'm sure nothing will happen in the future.
8) Princess Maker 2 Refine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And apparently I didn't get enough of walking a kid through life.
Who looks at a game about raising a little girl by managing her monthly schedule and balancing her stats, health and money and says "yes, this is the game I'll play to destress"?
I do that. Don't ask why.
I have only reached two endings, in one my beautiful daughter became the royal painter, her art held as the most beautiful and inspiring in the entire world. In another, my girl made a name for herself by exploring the lands surrounding the kingdom, so fast on her feet nobody could even scratch her; she married a dragon prince and became the teacher of her own fighting school.
And even with all of that, her goddess mother was not happy.
So yes, this is the "divorced dad who got custody" experience.
9) Planescape: Torment
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What can change the nature of a man? That is a question posed by one Ravel Puzzlewell, night hag of the Gray Wastes. It is one of the many questions that this game asks, intertwined by the many philosophies it presents. Planescape Torment does not stick to one question, it asks many, and it lets you answer.
It is a beautifully written game, one of the best I have ever read. There is one moment that I do not wish to spoil, but it still sticks to my head months after I experienced it. As a writer, I found myself fascinated by how a certain event was told, all because of the way it was presented.
It feels like an injustice to not talk in length about Planescape: Torment, but I seriously don't want to spoil anyone who hasn't played it yet. A blind experience is fully worth it. All you need to know is that this is the game that made me post for the first time here, two dumb memes for myself and one short analysis that sometimes reminds me that yes, people can interact with it. Shameless link to it here
10) Growing my Grandpa!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If I had to describe this game without saying too much, I would say it's "heartwarming horror". Two words that don't usually go together, but that they perfectly fit here. The story is, like the title says, about growing your grandpa, more like helping a girl grow her grandpa, but still. Strangely sweet and unnerving, I was tense the entire time, and even when I had to replay it to get the second ending (this was entirely my fault, since I could have gotten it way easier) that tension never left.
11) FAITH: The Unholy Trinity
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't remember how I found out about this game, but I remember waiting patiently for it to get a steam release so I could buy it and play its three chapters all together. The day finally came, and all that waiting was worth it.
The gameplay is simple, yet the developers found a way to have me both crying in fear and frothing by the mouth out of anger every time I saw the game over screen (affectionately). In terms of difficulty, I would say the game is easy until it isn't, looking at you Chapter 2 and 3 Final Bosses, you bastards. Then again, I saw people say they struggled in places I didn't, so I would say it depends on the player.
The story is so interesting and it's still marinating in my brain please I need people to talk about how the prologue of chapter 2 and the one note in chapter 3 relate please. The cutscenes are also so well done, and I had to restrain myself from using one as a second picture because I didn't want to spoil any of them.
All in all, a must play, fully recommend it.
And remember:
GARY LOVES YOU
12) Inmortal Mantis
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a tricky one. On one hand, the game starts off by basically spelling out every action you have to do, and suddenly it goes full on "fuck around and find out" mode. On the other, the game implements some interesting mechanics that I would love to see developed on a longer game, but I am not going to put the length against it while knowing how hard it is to make a game. And maybe being short plays in its favor.
13) Who's Lila?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This game is my King in Yellow. I cannot stop thinking about it. I finished it with all endings and achievements in a day, and it wont leave me alone. It is always there, forever crawling at the back of my head, stretching itself over my brain and weaving my thoughts into a spiral as easily as a spider weaves its thread. It made itself a home in my mind and I won't kick it out any time soon. I played it because the concept of controlling a character's face in place of a dialogue wheel was interesting, and the story and the way it's presented (hand in hand with the gameplay) lured me deeper and deeper. I cannot even describe it without giving it the praise it deserves. It takes full advantage of its medium. Playing this game is an experience that I can't recommend enough, and I'm surprised it hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves.
14) Someone stole MY LUNCH!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This visual novel is pure fun. The humor is so good I found myself reading the entire thing out loud while wheezing. I actually found out recently that it's made by the same people that made Stillwater, which, looking at it now I should have known. It's good and I'm not still over not seeing that one joke coming; well played.
15) MILK INSIDE OF A BAG OF MILK INSIDE OF A BAG OF MILK INSIDE OF A BAG OF MILK INSIDE OF A BAG OF-
Tumblr media
... INSIDE A BAG OF MILK is a short visual novel about a girl going to the grocery to buy milk, and the challenge this seemingly small action can be. It is your responsibility to help her through this.
The steam page description perfectly summarizes it: "This is an artistic manipulation with word and form, only then - a game."

“Holy hell. You guys really went overboard” A collection of various size shopping bags dangle from Robin’s hands. She trails behind you and Nancy as the three of you enter your house after a long day of shopping at Starcourt. “I feel like my arms are gonna fall off!”
You shake your head fondly and sigh. “Nobody told you to carry all of the bags babe.”
“Yea. You could have at least let me carry some of my own bags, Robin.” Nancy adds in with a teasing lilt.
“Ok first of all, I don’t mind, and second, I wasn’t gonna let you two carry these stupid things around the mall all day.” She grumbled, watching her feet as she makes her way up the stairs behind you.
“So chivalrous.” You swoon, and you and Nancy break out into giggles.
The three of you enter your room and Robin places the bags on your bed. Your bed sheets disappear under the huge haul. Maybe we did buy too much. You question yourself after seeing the spread before you.
“Thanks for doing the heavy lifting, Robin.” You lean up and kiss Robin’s cheek and she immediately goes red.
“S’no problem.” She mutters and rubs the back of her neck, her voice cracking a little at the end.
“Ugh you two are so cute it almost makes me sick.” Nancy says jokingly as she goes through the bags.
“Feeling left out, Wheeler?” Robin taunts. She takes a seat at your vanity and does a full body stretch against the back of the chair. Her shirt rises in the process and reveals her lower freckled stomach. You definitely don’t miss the way Nancy stared a little too long at Robin’s exposed skin. Interesting.
You keep any thoughts about that to yourself as you join Nancy at the bed to help her sort out the bags.
“W—well.” Nancy uncharacteristically stammers. “A little? I guess?”
You quirk an eyebrow at the admission. “If you wanted a kiss Nance, all you had to do was ask”. You cant help but continue the teasing. You’re too focused on Nancy’s growing blush and you find it amusing.
“Hey. Are we throwing around free kisses now?” Robin asks in her little corner of the room. She’s too preoccupied with rifling through all of your makeup to notice the way Nancy has turned crimson red.
“I—I didn’t mean it like that!” Nancy shakes her head and her tight, brunette curls bounce from the movement. “I meant…it’s just been a while since I’ve had anyone. You know? It sounds dumb actually.” She sounds embarrassed and you start to feel a little bad at your previous teasing.
“I get it, Nance. It’s been what? A year since you and Johnny boy called it quits?” You start to think about Nancy’s previous relationships. There was Barb, who Nancy dated for a while before Barb moved away to Oregon. Then there was Steve which ended amicably, and finally Jonathan, who moved away to California with his family. It’s the longest time you’ve seen Nancy single since you’ve known her.
“Sounds about right.” Nancy sighs and puts some of her shopping bags on the floor.
“So. Nobody has caught your eye yet?” You start to organize the bags too. You and Nancy work side by side separating your things.
Nancy snorts. “I mean sure, there’s been a couple of people but um. I guess sometimes I can come off a little—”
“Intimidating?” You and Robin speak at the same time. You look at Robin and grimace at each other. A silent conversation passes between you and your girlfriend. Why did we say that out loud?! You’re not trying to make Nancy feel bad but you aren’t helping either.
Nancy’s eyes go wide and she looks at you and then to Robin. Robin ducks her head and pretends to be extremely interested in a certain nail polish.
“Geez, you two really know how to cheer a girl up.” Nancy lets out a humorless laugh. She gets done separating her bags and puts them in a neat pile by your bedroom door, her shoulders sagging a bit.
“Sorry Nance, but it’s not a bad thing! You’re just… weeding out the weak!” You say trying to save face. It’s not entirely a lie though.
Nancy smiles sadly. “I guess that’s one way to look at it.”
Feeling like you desperately need to change the subject, you snatch a bag up from the bed and pull out a black blouse.
“Nancy, I need your help on this one.”
Nancy looks relieved at the topic change and walks over to you eyeing the blouse curiously.
“Oh. I didn’t see you try this one on.” She picks it up and smooths her hand over the material.
You shrug. “It was an impulse buy but I don’t think it suits me very well so I need your opinion. Robin isn’t any help because anything I put on she says I look great in.”
Robin, who’s taken the liberty of opening your red nail polish, is creating little doodles on her shoes. She’s sticking her tongue out slightly, hyper focused on her work. “What? You do look great in anything.” She says matter of fact.
You roll your eyes. “See?”
Nancy starts to laugh but it dies in her throat when you start taking off your shirt in front of her. Nancy stands frozen trying to look anywhere but your topless form. You toss your shirt on the bed and that gets the attention of Robin who starts to gawk at you. You take a mental note of Nancy visibly swallowing and of her wandering eyes.
You grab the blouse from Nancy’s still hands and slip it through your arms and turn away from her.
“Could you get the zipper?” You ask.
“Oh uh y—yea. Of course.” She shakes out of her trance.
Nancy’s fingers pinch the zipper and you feel her make contact with your skin. Her usual freezing cold hands are surprisingly warm. With your back turned, you’re now facing Robin. You give her a roguish wink  and she returns the gesture with a dopey smile.
The room is so quiet that the sound of the zipper being pulled up is unnaturally loud. The tension that’s radiating from Nancy isn’t subtle anymore, and you wonder if Robin can sense it too.
“There!” Nancy retracts her hand quickly like the zipper was burning her.
You turn around and see that her face is flushed.
“Well?” You ask and step in the middle of the room giving a cute little twirl.
“You look great.” Robin says in a husky voice.
“I wasn’t asking you Robin.” You say playfully. You eye Nancy, expecting an answer. “Nance?”
“Oh! I mean— it looks amazing on you. It really shows off your— your features.” She gestures to your front. This time, she doesn’t attempt to hide her gaze. Her eyes drift to your chest. The material hugs your chest in just the right way.
“Yea. It isn’t too much?”
“Definitely not.” Nancy reassures, and gives you a smirk that makes your stomach do a little flip. What was that?
You hum and smile at Nancy’s approval. “I’ll keep it then.”
Nancy unzips you and you change back into your t-shirt. You gather the remainder of your bags and shove them in your closet, thinking that you can just deal with them later.
Robin taps a beat on the vanity table. Now that she’s done with her little art project and making a mess of your nail polish, she seems to be bored.
“So what’s next on the agenda ladies? Movie?” Robin proposes.
Nancy kicks off her kitten heels and makes herself comfortable on your bed. “As long as it’s not another horror movie. I couldn’t stand the last one you picked out, Robin.”
“What!?” Robin comically leaps from her chair. “Child’s Play was totally good!”
“I think I’m gonna agree with Nancy on this one.” You blurt out.  Robin looks at you like you just committed the most heinous betrayal in history. “The doll was creepy!”
“That’s the point!” Robin says exasperated and sits back down with her arms crossed.
You and Nancy laugh and Robin deflates. You turn to Nancy and notice she’s pulling at the collar of her blouse, like she’s warm. It’s definitely not warm.
The wheels are turning in your brain as you attempt to recount the things you noticed from Nancy recently. Even before today, you’ve silently caught her looking at you and Robin in a flirtatious way. Robin was, of course, completely oblivious, but the stolen glances didn’t get past you. You didn’t think much of it. Nancy was your best friend and knew it was just harmless fun, but after hearing Nancy talk about how she feels lonely in the love department lately, it’s making more sense to you.
“Are you hot Nance?” You abruptly ask.
“Oh.” Nancy closes her eyes and has a look on her face like she has been caught doing something she wasn’t supposed to be doing. “Yea, a little I guess.” She attempts to smooth out her shirt.
“I’ll get you some water. Robin, wanna help me?” You turn to Robin’s who’s already picking at the drying nail polish on her shoe.
“Help you…get water?” She tilts her head like a confused puppy and you give her a lethal stare. Another silent conversation occurs between you two and her eyes go wide.
“Oh! Yea okay I’ll help you—” She chokes out. You’re already grabbing her arm before she can finish talking and drag her out of the room with you, leaving Nancy laying there on the bed blinking in confusion.
A few minutes later, you return with a glass of water for Nancy and put on the nightstand for her.
“One water with extra ice for table one.” You say amusingly. Nancy puts down the magazine she was reading and giggles.
“Why thank you.” Nancy picks up the glass and notices Robin rubbing her face nervously. “Is everything alright Robin?”
“Huh? Yea sure why wouldn’t it be?” Robin reclaims the vanity chair and leans back in it, her eyes wandering around the room.
Nancy looks like she wants to inquire further but is interrupted by you throwing yourself on the bed. Nancy bounces a little by the weight and almost spills her water.
“So. Nancy...” You start to say. You fiddle with a loose thread on the bed sheets thinking of how to phrase your next words. “Have you had any one night stands during your one year drought?”
Nancy almost spits out her water at the bluntness of your question. Yea, you could have definitely phrased that better. You and Robin can’t help but laugh at her reaction. She starts patting her chest in an attempt to keep from choking on the liquid.
“We’re back to this subject again?” Nancy clears her throat.
“Only if you want to be.” You smile reassuringly. You’re willing to back off immediately if Nancy said to.
“No. No I haven’t.” Nancy puts down her glass of water wary of whatever else you might throw at her. “I wouldn’t be like, super comfortable with the idea of sleeping with strangers anyway.” Her eyes dance between you and Robin.
“Yea? You lay down on your side with your elbow propped up supporting your head. Nancy curiously watches your every movement. “What about with friends?”
Nancy snorts in disbelief. She peeks a glance at Robin, who’s chewing on her lip and studying the two of you like a hawk. Nancy’s eyes go wide as she realizes the weight of your question.
“Wait, what are you asking?” Nancy’s voice starts to waver a little under your gaze.
You shrug your shoulders. “Just if you would sleep with your friends.” You answer nonchalantly.
Nancy gets more comfortable on the bed, mimicking your position and has that signature tiny smirk on her face. You can’t help but admire that little wrinkle that appears next to her mouth every time she smiles. “I don’t have many friends. So who, pray tell, are you referring to?” Nancy looks a little bit more relaxed than earlier and you smile at her playfulness.
“I don’t know Nance, you’ve got two pretty good looking friends right here in this room.” You gesture to yourself and then to Robin. Robin looks like she’s about to spontaneously combust at any second.
Nancy laughs incredulously. “Yea, my two friends who happen to be dating each other!” Nancy sighs and flops on her back. She groans and sinks further into the bed. You scoot closer to her, your bodies barely touching. You can instantly feel the heat coming off her.
“Nance.” Nancy turns to you and notices your close proximity.  Her eyes flicker to your lips momentarily before looking at you. “Can I kiss you?” You ask in a gentle voice.
Nancy goes through about a hundred different emotions in a span of second. She looks to Robin expecting her to say something, intervene, anything,  but she simply just sits there.
Robin shrugs. “Hey, if my girlfriend who’s like, the hottest girl on the planet, wants to kiss another hot girl, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to see it.”
Nancy hangs her mouth open in shock at Robin’s forwardness.
“I am no better than a man.” Robin admits and hangs her head down in mock shame. You grab one of your small stuffed animals that lay on the bed and throw it at her. Robin reacts way too late and it hits her right in the chest.
“So?” You turn your attention back to Nancy. She looks hesitant, like she’s waiting for you to say the punchline and laugh. “Look, Nance, I trust you, and so does Robin.” Robin furiously nods her head in agreement. “You’re my best friend, but if you don’t want to, it’s fine. There’s no hard feelings and we can forg—”
“Kiss me.” Nancy interrupts, barely a whisper. “I—I want you to.”
Your eyebrows raise in a pleasant surprise. You lean over her and trace her sharp jawline with your fingertips. Nancy’s breath hitches when you start to lean in agonizingly slow. You want to take your time just in case Nancy might change her mind. You only pause when your lips are millimeters apart. The scent of Nancy’s vanilla chapstick invades your senses. It smells warm, and sweet. Nancy impatiently whimpers and your brain short circuits for a bit. When Nancy’s objection never comes, you finally close the gap and press your lips against hers in a delicate kiss.
Nancy’s lips are soft. So soft. It’s a stark contrast compared to Robin’s that are typically chapped. You feel a hand snake its sway to the back of your neck, pulling you in closer.
“Holy shit.” Robin’s cracked voice fills the quiet room.
You break the kiss. Nancy’s eyes are still closed and her lips slightly parted like she was expecting the kiss to last longer. You brush her bangs from her face and when she opens her eyes, they’ve never been so blue before. It’s the brightest her eyes have been in a while.
“Wow.” Nancy lets out a wispy breath. “I didn’t realize how much I missed that.”
You both break out in giddy laughter. Nancy’s hand is still wrapped around the nape of your neck, twirling a thumb through your small hairs. You revel in the soothing motions.
“You alright?” The concern in your voice makes Nancy smile warmly.
“Absolutely, but um…” Nancy trails off. Her eyes flicker over to where Robin is sitting for a split second before landing to some random place in the room. “Can you kiss me again? Like, really kiss me?”
Your stomach does flips. You look over to Robin, who’s just surprised as you are. You tilt your head in a silent question and Robin reads you immediately. She nods her head once, a gesture that lets you know it’s okay. Robin reclines back and has a goofy, smug look on her face. She wants to enjoy this.
You return your attention to Nancy and she still isn’t looking at you. She almost looks ashamed of what she’s asked. You gently grab her chin and lock eyes with her. The sparkling blueness in them has faded, slowly being taken over by her pupils. You lean in, much quicker this time, and kiss Nancy again, but lacking any kind of carefulness like the first kiss. This kiss is scalding. Nancy whines into your mouth and her grip tightens around your the back of your neck. Your body reacts at the noises she’s making, sending a pool of heat straight to your lower abdomen.
“Holy shit. Holy shit.” Robin repeats.
You want to laugh, but Nancy starts to kiss you with more confidence and you effortlessly fall in line with her movements, like you’ve kissed her a million times before. For a moment, you question why this feels so easy. So right. You love Robin without a doubt. There’s nothing that’s going to change that, but there’s always been a small part of you that’s wanted this. Wanted to know what it was like to kiss the former, or perhaps still, most desirable girl in Hawkins.
You feel Nancy’s tongue swipe against your bottom lip, begging for entrance. You willingly part your lips for her, and her tongue slides into your mouth without pause. Each glide of her tongue against yours sends a buzzing, tingling sensation throughout your body and you can feel yourself starting to get lost in her. You know you should stop before this situation gets out of hand, but you just can’t, and apparently, neither can Robin.
Nancy kisses the corner of your mouth, then she starts to press feather light kisses down your jaw till she reaches your neck. Your body goes rigid when a particular slide of her tongue makes your eyes roll back in your head.
“Fuck, Nance.” You groan. Your stillness alerts Nancy and she stops immediately. She’s got a look of pure panic on her face when she realizes what she’s doing. She scrambles away from you and leaps off the bed panting.
“Shit! I am— I’m so sorry!” Nancy’s running her hands through her hair, thoroughly freaking out. She whips her body around in a blur and looks to Robin with apologetic eyes. “Robin I didn’t mean—I don’t know what came over me—”
“Whoa, Wheeler chill.” Robin gets up and gingerly  puts her hands on Nancy’s shoulders, trying to calm her. “It’s okay. We would have said something if we weren’t comfortable.” All Nancy can do is blink up at the taller girl.
“It just caught me by surprise is all, Nance.” You say breathlessly.
Robin turns Nancy by her shoulders, forcing her to look at you. Robin stands extra close behind Nancy and leans down so her mouth is right by her ear.
“I get carried away with her too.” Robin says in a low and husky voice. Nancy twitches at Robin’s close proximity and you see Nancy’s ear go adorably red in real time.
“We can keep going if you want to Nance. However far you want to take it.” The implication of your statement makes Nancy blush even more. She’s biting her bottom lip, deep in thought about your invitation. She cranes her neck to look at Robin behind her. Robin looks at her and winks.
“Are you okay with me watching?” Robin asks, rubbing Nancy’s shoulders. It’s more of a question to Nancy than you. Nancy hesitates for a second before answering.
“Yes.” She says bluntly, and Robin smiles wickedly.
You snort. “Pervert.” You say teasingly to Robin, but she just shrugs at your jeering
“Are you kidding? This is like, the hottest thing ever.” Robin claims. Nancy laughs at that, and you sense a lot of her apprehension from earlier dissolve.  “So now…go get her.”
Robin shoves Nancy. It wasn’t a hard shove in the slightest, but the unexpectedness of it causes Nancy to stumble toward the bed and land on top of you. You cradle an arm around her small waist to steady her. Robin snickers and walks over to the chair, pulling it a bit closer to the bed and reclines in it again.
You sit up a bit, leaning your back against the headboard and position Nancy to straddle your lap. You internally curse when you immediately feel the heat of her coming from under her skirt. You wonder if having a spectator caused her to get worked up so quickly.
“What do you want, Nance?” You ask softly, brushing a stray curl behind her ear. You move your hand that’s around her waist to her lower back and rub small circles with your thumb.  She looks at you from under her lashes. Her exquisite blue eyes display a tinge of nervousness, but also trust.
“I want…I want everything.” She pauses before continuing and breaths out sharply through her nose. “If that’s okay.”
You definitely want to give Nancy everything. You smile warmly and place your forehead against hers. “We can stop whenever you want, okay? I’ll follow your lead.” You give her a small peck on the nose before leaning back against the headboard again.
Nancy nods shyly. She brings her delicate hands up to cup your flushed face and plants a kiss on your lips. You hum contently against her. Spurred on by your agreeable sounds, she kisses you more passionately, and just like before, you both fall into an easy rhythm.
Your hands find her waist and give her a light squeeze. Nancy moans into your mouth and wraps her arms around your neck and pulls herself tighter against your body. You groan when you feel her tits brush against yours. Your kisses turn frenzied and sloppy. Wet, smacking noises and breathy moans begin to fill your room.
Robin intensely watches you and Nancy hungrily make out in front of her. The noises filling the room are starting to make her extremely hot and bothered. She shifts uncomfortably in her chair with each passing second.
Nancy is starting to get more confident. She suddenly breaks up the fervent kissing and pulls your head to the side by your hair, exposing your neck to her. She leans down and latches onto your sensitive skin, licking and sucking in all the right places.
“Oh god.” You grunt out. Nancy starts to roll her hips and you quickly find yourself becoming drunk off the heat building between you. While Nancy mercilessly attacks your neck, you feel her grab one of your hands and bring it up to her chest in an unspoken plea to touch her. You indulge her, and grope her over her blouse. She whines against your neck and your hips buck into her involuntarily. You start palming her tit, kneading and squeezing. Nancy purrs above you.
You catch Robin’s eyes over Nancy’s shoulder and she’s staring right at you. Her mouth is agape and her chest is rising and falling quickly. A wicked idea occurs to you.
“Fuck Nance, that feels so good.” You gasp in a high pitched, whiny voice, staring right into Robin’s dark blue eyes. You say it a little bit exaggerated, but neither Nancy or Robin notice. You just wanted to get a reaction out of Robin, and by the twitch in her eyes, you got one. You’re not lying though, it does feel amazing. Nancy is sucking a fresh bruise into the skin below your ear and you bite your lip at how amazing it feels. You want Robin to see the look of ecstasy on your face. She’s not jealous or mad in any way. She’s just mesmerized at the scene happening before her.
“Damnit.” Robin croaks. She runs both her hands over her face and they fall to grip her knees. You can tell it’s taking every ounce of her willpower for her not to touch herself.
Nancy stops attacking your neck to look at you. You can feel the marks she’s left on you. Spots on your skin pulse and throb and don’t need a mirror to know where the bruises are. You return your attention to Nancy, her eyes are glassy and pupils so blown you can barely see the blue in them anymore.
“Take off my shirt.” She demands. You can hear Robin groan in the background. You always knew Nancy liked to be in control of things, and you come to the conclusion that the attitude carries over to the bedroom as well, and you’re definitely not going to complain. You happily oblige her and grab the hem of her blouse as she lifts her arms in the air to help you slide the piece of fabric off her. You haphazardly toss it somewhere in the room and you take a moment to admire her frilly pink bra that you’re now eye level with. Nancy reaches behind her and starts to unclasp the hooks of her bra. Your heart starts to thunder in your chest and you can feel it hammering in your ears. The reality of the situation starts to hit you like a ton of bricks. Guess we really are doing this, you think to yourself.
The straps of the bra start to fall loosely on her slender shoulders and Nancy discards it. You are greeted with Nancy’s beautiful small tits and flushed chest.
“You’re so stunning Nance.” You utter in a throaty voice.  Nancy shyly ducks her head and smiles. You lightly scrape your nails over her bare back and she arches into it, pushing her tits further closer to your face. Nancy quivers and whimpers as your fingers dance over her impeccably soft skin. Goosebumps appear all over her body and her nipples form into hardened peeks. You lick your lips thinking about taking one in your mouth but you hold back, just barely.
“Oh.”  Nancy breaths out shakily. Your fingers move to graze over her rib cage and she shudders and giggles above you, light and airy. “That tickles.” She grabs both of your wrist and guides your hands toward her chest. You stare at her with uncertainty but she gives you a quick nod, letting you know it’s okay. You palm both of her tits and give them a quick squeeze. She groans as you test what kind of pressure she likes best. You massage softly at first, thumbs gently brushing occasionally against her nipples.
“You don’t…have to be so gentle.” Nancy mewls. Fuck. Your brain is completely fried at this point, but at least you have enough sense left in you to honor her suggestion. You pinch her nipples, hard and she yelps. She leans down and gives you a messy, open mouthed kiss as you tug and roughly play with her nipples. She moans obscenely down your throat and you swallow it gleefully.
“I want Robin here.” Nancy orders. Robin is currently in another world, because she didn’t hear Nancy at all. She’s somehow still sitting on that damn chair with a foggy, far away look in her eyes. You look at Robin and it gets her attention.
“Robin, do you want to join us?” You ask. Robin just blinks, completely dumbfounded.
“Oh. Yes. God yes.” She replies, her voice scratchy and deep.
Robin stands up and wobbles over to the bed. She tries to take off her shoes but she’s extra uncoordinated in her current hazy state. She almost falls over in the process. You and Nancy both laugh at the way Robin curses at her shoes. Robin finally settles in next to you on the other side of the bed. She has a better view of the both of you now, and her mouth hangs open at the sight of a topless Nancy settled into your lap.
“Wow.” Robin says out of breath. She runs a hand through her hair trying to come to terms with the fact that this is really happening in front of her.
Nancy shifts her body so that she’s straddling one of your thighs. You feel her hot center through your jeans and you whine at the contact. Nancy smiles, thoroughly satisfied at your reaction.
“Can I ride you?” Nancy asks shakily.
“Please.” You breathe out. Your hands cautiously come to rest on her hips.
Nancy grips the head board above you with both hands, completely caging you in. She starts to roll her hips slowly against the length of your thigh. Her clothed core sliding against your jeans is already creating an intense, heated friction that burns deliciously throughout your entire body. Your hands grasp her hips a little tighter, and you encourage her to move a little faster against you. Nancy sighs above you as the friction gets more and more fiery.
Robin really can’t help herself this time. You tilt your head in her direction while Nancy is preoccupied with using your thigh. Robin is so mesmerized by the way Nancy is moving against you, she doesn’t even notice you looking at her. You watch as her hand slides down her body and stops at the button on her jeans, her hips bucking in time with Nancy’s slow rolling.
“God.” You groan. The room wasn’t hot before, but it definitely is now. Nancy starts to rut faster against your thigh and you can feel a wet spot on your jeans forming. You dig your fingers into Nancy’s hips and pull her down more against you.
“Shit.” Nancy’s gasps. The headboard creaks behind you as Nancy grips it harder.
“Nancy, baby can Robin touch herself?” You say, the pet name slipping out of you. Nancy breaks her concentration for just a second to look at Robin, who looks like she’s about to break in half trying to control herself.
“Yes. Yes.” She repeats. “You two can do whatever you want I don’t—fuck. I don’t care.” And with that, the last pillars of Nancy’s nervousness crumble around you.
Robin wastes no time. She hurriedly unbuttons her jeans and slips a hand under the waistband of her underwear, her eyes rolling back in relief as she finally gets to touch herself.
“You ride my girl so well, Nance.” Robin slurs. She lazily moves her fingers against herself and you can hear how wet Robin is despite the noises coming from Nancy above you. Hearing Robin’s praises ignites something in Nancy. Her hips thrust in a short, erratic rhythm against you.
“Just like that.” You breathe out. Your grip on Nancy’s hips ground her, keeping her movements limited to short, rough bucking. Nancy throws her head up to the ceiling when a loud moan escapes her, and you are in awe at the sight.
“Suck on her tits.” Robin blurts out. You don’t need to be told twice.
You briefly kiss the valley between Nancy’s breasts before taking a nipple into your mouth. Nancy’s high pitched cries fill the room as you swirl your tongue around her and Robin starts to grind against her own fingers quicker.
“Fuck, don’t stop.” Nancy keens. One of her hands lets go of the headboard and grabs the back of your head, keeping your face locked against her bouncing tits.
You harshly suck on her nipple before releasing it with a small pop and turn your attention to the other one, repeating the same motions. Nancy’s eyes have screwed tightly shut. The sensations of everything becoming too much. You can tell she’s close, her breathing is short and shallow and she ruts impossibly faster against your leg. She’s made a terrible mess of your jeans and you wonder how wet she really is.
“I’m gonna cum. I’m gonna cum.” Nancy slurs. Your teeth graze against her sensitive skin and that’s all it took for the dam to finally break. She throws her head back, mouth falling open and salacious moan escapes her as her climax wracks her body. The light of the setting sunlight leaks through your blinds and illuminates her body giving her a beautiful, golden glow. Her hips stutter against you, but your hands continue to move her hips up and down your thigh, prolonging her climax. Nancy starts to cry out and goes rigid. You can feel her cunt throb through your jeans.
Nancy falls against you and you wrap your arms around her to steady her. Her body twitches each time the aftershocks hit her. She’s breathing so hard against you. You run a hand along her back to soothe her, trying to calm her breathing. Nancy curls into your body, basking in the afterglow of her climax.
You gently pull back Nancy and she’s got a spaced out look in her eyes. A light sheen of sweat is on her forehead and the sides of her face. You brush back some of her hair that’s sticking to her forehead. She stares at you and smiles, all dopey and fucked out.
“Felt s’good.” She sputters.
“Oh, she is gone.” You chuckle, caressing her sculpted face.
“Hand her to me.” Robin says. Robin sits up a little and opens her arms invitingly.
“Go to Robin babe.” You coo and kiss her on top of her head.
Nancy hums and rolls off of you. She falls against Robin’s side. Robin pulls Nancy closer to her, wrapping her arm around her shoulder.
“Hand me that water.” Robin orders.
You grab the forgotten glass of water that sits on your nightstand. You quickly take a generous sip before handing it to Robin.
“Drink some water, Nance.” Robin says in a gentle voice.
Nancy parts her lips and Robin carefully maneuvers the glass to her mouth, tilting it ever so slightly. Nancy groans in appreciation as she takes a few small sips of the cold water. Some liquid dribbles out of the corner of Nancy’s mouth but Robin is quick to wipe it away.
“Good girl.” Robin murmurs and kisses the side of her head. “You were moving like crazy.” You stare lovingly at the pair. Robin is taking care of Nancy the same way she would take care of you when you get like that, and your heart almost bursts at the sight.
Robin hands the water back to you and you place it back on the nightstand.
“Mmm, thank you.” Nancy breaths out, still looking a little disoriented.
“No problem.” Robin gives a few pets to Nancy’s head. After a moment, she untangles Nancy from her embrace and gently lays her down on the pillows. “Now lay there and look pretty, so I can deal with this one.” She pointedly looks at you. You widen your eyes and stick out your tongue.
Robin carefully crawls over Nancy and pounces on you in a flourish. She quickly gets between your legs and you automatically wrap them around her waist
“Robin!” You laugh. Robin takes both of your hands and pins them above your head.
“Do you know how hot it was seeing another girl use you like that? Huh?” She bends down and gives you a searing kiss. You moan against her lips as she roughly works your mouth with her own. You try to wiggle away but it’s futile, Robin’s death grip on your wrists prevents you from going anywhere.
Nancy shifts in the bed. She turns over to watch the both of you through half lidded eyes.
Robin forces her tongue down your throat and your hips start to move against her. She lets go of your wrist to hold down your hips.
“None of that.” She growls, keeping your hips still. “Sit up.”
You obey. Robin makes quick work of your shirt, tossing it behind her. Robin can’t be bothered with unclasping the hooks on your bra, so instead she pulls down the straps over your shoulder and pulls your arms through them. She lifts it up over your head and discards it. You’ve never seen her move so fast.
“Don’t wanna go slow?” You tease.
Robin pushes you down and you hit the mattress with a soft thud. Nancy perks up a bit to look at your bare chest, her face heating up again.
“Slow went out the window when you happily sucked on another woman’s tits.” Robin retorts.
“You told me to!” You bite your lip and smile. You know there’s not an ounce of actual jealousy coming from Robin, but her rough playfulness is turning you on so much.
“Indeed I did.” Robin says. She starts undoing the buttons on your jeans and that white hot heat from earlier starts to build up inside you again.
You feel Nancy snuggle up closer to you. She nudges into your shoulder and kisses it softly. You can see in her face that she’s come down from her high, but her eyes still have that hungry look in them. You swing your arm around her to bring her closer into you, kissing her sweetly on the lips.
Robin pulls down your jeans to the floor and zeroes in on the wet patch on your underwear, but before she decides to tear the fragile fabric off of you, she turns her attention to Nancy.
“Nance?” Robin has her hands on Nancy’s skirt. Nancy nods her head giving Robin permission. Robin undoes the single button on the waistline of Nancy’s skirt and pulls it down her slender legs.
Robin sits on her knees and lets out a puff of air. She looks down at the two beautiful girls below her, eyes raking over each of your bodies. She tentatively explores Nancy’s unfamiliar curves and dips, but then admires yours she knows intimately well. She groans and rubs a hand down her face.
“I think we broke her.” Nancy says, and you both giggle. Robin’s face goes crimson red.
“Oh I’m sorry princesses. It’s not often I have two gorgeous naked women laying in front of me.” Robin pouts and puts her hands on her hips.
“Come on babe.” You console. You spread your legs open wide. You grab Nancy’s knee and pull her leg toward you, opening her up as well. “I think you know what to do.”
Robin licks her lips staring at yours and Nancy’s soaked underwear.
“This is going to be the death of me.” Robin says in a broken voice.
She gets herself together and hooks an arm around yours and Nancy’s thighs, pulling both of you toward the foot of the bed with ease. Robin stands tall, towering over the both of you. She dips her fingers in each of the waistbands of you and Nancy’s underwear and with a shuddering breath, pulls them down at the same time. She’s pulling them agonizingly slow, taking in the moment as it is. You and Nancy lift your legs up in assistance and with one final glide of fabric on skin, you both lay fully naked.
It takes herculean effort from Robin not to pass out right then and there. She places her left hand on Nancy and her right hand on you. She starts to caress her open palms over your stomachs, chest, and thighs, fervently touching as much skin as she can reach. You sink into the mattress at the soothing touches. Robin’s brain is overloaded. Her eyes dance between you and Nancy, not knowing where to look.
“So beautiful.” Robin sighed, completely in awe.
She slides her hands closer to your centers and glides her fingers through yours and Nancy’s wet slits. The two of you simultaneously whine as Robin runs her fingers up and down, generously coating her fingers in arousal.
“Fuck.” Robin grunts. “Both of you are so fucking wet.”
“Robin…” You whimper. Your hips twitch each time Robin brushes over your clit.
“We need more, please.” Nancy sobs out, finishing what you were about to say.
Robin chuckles darkly, smugness radiating off of her. “Who am I to deny what two pretty girls are begging for?”
Robin slips a finger into each of you. With how wet you are, it slides in with ease. She does a few experimental thrusts before deciding to add a second finger. You groan at the feeling of being stretched and filled by your girlfriend’s long fingers, and by the way Nancy opens her legs wider, knees bumping into yours, she’s feeling just as appreciative. You and Nancy’s combined throaty whines echoed around the room and Robin is almost dizzy from the sounds. Spurred on by the noises, Robin starts to pump faster into the both of you.
“Oh my god.” You gasp. Your back arches off the bed in a beautiful bend.
You still have your arm around Nancy, so you pull her closer into you. You hiss when her hot skin touches yours. You grab her face and kiss her. It’s a messy kiss. Both of you are moaning into each other’s mouth as Robin continues to fuck you two with her fingers. Nancy swings her arm over your torso and grabs a handful of one of your breasts, squeezing and massaging it while making out with you.
Robin can’t help but sigh heavily at the image unfolding in front of her. She watches her glistening fingers pump in and out of two different cunts, and her ears are ringing from all the high pitched, breathy moaning and obscene squelching noises. The  indecent sounds and smell of everything have her knees shaking. It’s almost too much for her brain to take.
“Fucking hell.” Robin’s low tone of voice is almost unrecognizable. “Have to— taste both of you. Is that okay Nance?”
Nancy barks out a laugh. “Yes it’s okay. It’s more than okay. Just—please.”
Robin falls to her knees with her fingers still sheathed inside you. She regards the wet, needy cunts and can’t believe she has such a feast before her.
“Keep your legs raised for me princesses.” Robin orders. Both you and Nancy raise your legs higher, bending at the knees. Your angles reveal everything to Robin, and you can hear her hum deep in her throat, pleased at how the both of you quickly reacted to her words. “Good girls.”
Robin slips her fingers out of Nancy, and Nancy is about to complain until Robin plunges her tongue deep between her folds without warning.
“Fuck, Robin!” Nancy damn near screams as she spasms against you.
Robin delightfully groans into Nancy’s pussy, savoring the unfamiliar taste of her. She works her tongue in languid up and down motions, lapping up every drop of her arousal. She doesn’t forget about you though. She curls her fingers deep inside you and pumps in a steady rhythm, expertly rubbing the growing swollen spot inside you. Your hips grind against her fingers, meeting her thrust for thrust.
“Robin…” You say her name like a prayer. You’re honestly impressed she’s able to keep up with satisfying both you and Nancy, given how graceless she can be.
You untangle yourself from Nancy, reaching down to rub your aching clit as Robin fucks you with her fingers. You close your eyes, concentrating on the lewd sounds deafening the room. Robin is hungrily eating out Nancy next to you. You can hear every lick, suck and sharp sob. It’s strange how you feel about it. You don’t feel how you’re suppose to feel about your girlfriend worshiping another woman’s pussy. You love Robin, and you love Nancy. Somehow, it makes sense to you, and maybe it makes sense to all three of you, because you’ve never been so turned on in your life. The pleasure building deep within you is growing fast. Robin unlatches herself from Nancy’s cunt and turns her attention to yours. She pulls out her fingers and shoves her tongue inside your entrance unexpectedly.
“Oh fu—!” You cry out, and your hands fly to clutch the bedsheets.
You spread your legs impossibly wider for her, and you can feel the tip of her nose press against your clit as she tries to get as deep as she can. Her pointed tongue swirls inside you and the sensation has you seeing stars. She never breaks her concentration on Nancy either. Robin moves her fingers back to Nancy’s cunt and rubs small tight circles over her swollen, red clit. Robin is working overtime, making sure each girl gets the same attention.
Her tongue leaves your hole and swipes up to focus on your clit, wrapping her plush lips around it and lashes at the sensitive flesh with quick flicks of her tongue. You writhe wildly on the bed jerking your hips into Robin’s face, knuckles turning white as you grip the bed sheets tighter. You feel the muscles tighten in your lower abdomen, the white hot coil inside you is almost too much to bear, and it’s getting harder to keep your legs raised. You’re so close.
You feel a hand tighten over your wrist. You look over through squinted eyes, and see that Nancy is gazing at you. She’s breathing hard through parted lips, and she looks so beautifully blissed out. You flip your hand over, and entangle your fingers together.
“Make her cum Robin.” Nancy pleads, her eyes never leaving yours.
You feel Robin growl against you, and now you have her full attention. She’s got both of her hands on you now. Her right hand hooks under one of your knees, keeping you open and spread, her other hand goes to your cunt. She shoves two fingers into you roughly, and you cry out at being stretched again.
“Robin I’m so close-!” You yell,  your voice turning into a desperate whine.
Robin brutally pumps her fingers into you, the base of her knobby knuckles pounding against your cunt. You can feel her many rings press up against you with each thrust. Her tongue swirls rapidly against your clit. The sounds around you start to fade away, reduced to muffled buzzing. You grip Nancy’s hand tighter, the touch is the only thing grounding you to this world. You can feel your walls clenching tighter around Robin’s fingers, and she must feel it too, because she moves her fingers in a ‘come hither’ motion against your inner walls and your breath hitches.
“Robin, y—you’re gonna make me cum—!” Your eyes roll back in your head when your orgasm rips through you. You let out a crying scream, unable to contain the intense pleasure bursting from within you. You squeeze Nancy’s hand tighter, fearing you might actually hurt her, but she squeezes back just as hard. Your body convulses as Robin’s continues to fuck you through your climax, your arousal flowing out of you with each lazy pump of her fingers and her mouth is still locked on your clit, sucking roughly. You try and recoil away, but Robin is relentless and continues her onslaught. Tears start flowing from your eyes at the overstimulation.
Nancy lets go of your hand and grabs the top of Robin’s head, yanking her by the hair away from you. You’re grateful for it, because any second longer and you might have been reduced to a lifeless puppet. Robin lets go with a gasp of breath, a string of spit and arousal falls from her lips. She’s breathing hard and her eyes are so blown she doesn’t even look like herself. A shadow of pure lust masks her once soft features, and god, it’s really hot to see her like that. Your limp legs fall over the edge of the mattress with a thud and your entire lower body twitches as the aftershocks of your powerful orgasm subside.
“My turn.” Nancy growls, and pulls Robin by the hair to her spread legs.
Robin, still hungry for more, happily lets her face be shoved back into Nancy’s waiting cunt. Nancy shudders and stretches her arms down to lock her fingers behind Robin’s head. Robin is trapped, and she loves it. She moans into a face full of pussy as Nancy starts to rock the length of her cunt into Robin’s face. Robin can only lay her tongue flat, letting Nancy use her.
After a few uneven breaths, you somehow find the strength to sit up. You lean back with your arms supporting you and watch as your loving girlfriend gets her face fucked with reckless abandon by your best friend. Robin locks eyes with you and she makes a whining noise when you give her a doting smile.
“You could do this for hours, couldn’t you babe?” You say affectionately. You reach over and brush her sweat covered bangs away from her face, Nancy never breaks her movements. “You love it.”
Robin responds with another whine and bucks her hips into nothing. You smile wickedly and continue to watch, transfixed at the way Nancy moves. Her chest is rising and falling rapidly and her thighs are quivering more and more.
“Fuck.” You hear Nancy huff out. “I don’t think—don’t think I can keep my legs up anymore.”
“Help her out baby.” You direct Robin.
Robin quickly resolves the issue, and plants her open palms on the underside of Nancy’s thighs, pressing down, helping her keep her legs raised and open. With this position, Robin gained a little bit more control, and Nancy lets her hands fall from the back of Robin’s head.
“Perfect.” You murmur. “Now please make her come.”
Robin grunts and sloppily works her tongue against Nancy’s cunt, moving her head up, down, and side to side. Nancy lets out a guttural moan at the fierce pace. You scoot closer to her, and take her hand like she did for you, dotting light kisses up and down her arm.
“Close. So close.” Nancy sputters.
Encouraged, Robin latches onto Nancy’s swollen clit licking and sucking the sensitive nub. Nancy’s eyes screw shut, and her mouth hangs open in a silent moan, and you watch as her stomach muscles become taut. She squeezes your hand so hard that her arms shakes. You wince a bit, but it doesn’t really bother you, you’re too distracted at the way her body moves against the sheets. She sucks in a sharp breath as her back arches off the bed.
And for the second time today, Nancy cums, hard. She makes an unrestrained, strangled noise when her orgasm shatters her body. Her small but strong thighs threaten to crush Robin’s head, but Robin makes no attempt to move. Robin can only flatten out her tongue as Nancy restricts her movements, and she lets Nancy ride out her climax for as long as she wants. It’s only when Nancy goes completely limp does Robin pull back. She sits on her knees with her head looking at the ceiling, gasping for breath. She hasn’t taken a moment to really breathe for a while. Not that she minded. If Robin succumbed to the fate of suffocating between a woman’s thighs, she would have died a happy woman.
Nancy twitches beside you, her eyes are glassy and half lidded.
“You alright, Nance?” You caress her heated cheeks with the back of your knuckles, and she nudges into the gentle touch.
“God yes. I’m so perfect.” She smiles, the corners of her mouth quirking up cutely.
You smile relieved, knowing that she’s still okay. You move in to give her a quick, soft kiss and she returns it, sighing contently.
While Nancy takes a moment to even out her breathing, you shakily sit up again. Robin is still sitting on the floor, breathing heavily. You groan at the sight of her. She is filthy. Her lips are red and puffy, and arousal and spit practically drip from her cheeks and chin. You even see a shimmering wet spot on her nose. She looks up at you through her lashes, eyes lighting up when she sees you staring at her.
“Do you need anything baby?” You ask her in a soothing voice.
Robin shakes her head and messily wipes at her face with the back of her hands. “I don’t think I need anything else ever in my life.” She jokes, her voice raspy and coarse.
Nancy sits up and scoots closer to you. She looks down at Robin, captivated.
“You sure you don’t need anything Robin?” Nancy tilts her head, her implication hanging in the air.
“Oh!” Robin’s voice cracks. “You guys don’t have—I don’t want Nance to do anything she doesn’t want to do. I’m fine—uh really. I mean, I wouldn’t mind, but I’ll just—.”
Robin goes on a ramble. You and Nancy slowly look at each other with an amused expression, giggling fondly.
“Robin.” Nancy gently interrupts her.
Robin closes her mouth with a click, cringing at herself for allowing her mouth to run wild at a time like this.
“Get on the bed.” You order.
Robin doesn’t say another word. She submits and stands up on shaky legs. Her already unbutton jeans hang slightly off her hips. You and Nancy scoot back and give and Robin space to crawl between both of you. She flops on her back and opens her arms, allowing you and Nancy to curl up on either side of her. You throw your legs over Robin, entangling your limbs with Nancy’s as she does the same.
“If this is a dream, please never wake me up.” Robin quips.
You roll your eyes affectionately and kiss her. She smiles broadly into the kiss. You immediately taste the arousal that lingers on her lips, a mixture of your own and Nancy’s. You moan deeply, wanting to taste more. She opens her mouth for you, and you slip your tongue inside. Robin’s velvety tongue swipes against yours, and you taste it more strongly. It’s intoxicating. Nancy tugs on Robin’s chin, breaking her kiss with you. Robin turns her head not wanting to let Nancy feel left out, but for a split second, you see a flash of nervousness on Robin’s face. She had no problem going down on another girl just minutes before, but the thought of actually kissing another girl has her shy. You find it so endearing, for some reason.
But just as quickly as it came, that nervousness vanishes. Robin kisses Nancy sweetly at first, but the smaller girl takes charge, and kisses her back more passionately. Nancy coaxes Robin to loosen up, allowing Nancy to guide her through the motions. You can see Robin visibly relax, thankful that Nancy took control in that moment.
“Let’s get you out of these clothes.” You say, tugging on Robin’s shirt.
You and Nancy start pawing at Robin clothes, pulling her back and forth. Robin is about to lose her mind, being manhandled by two pretty girls. Robin’s clothes are aimlessly thrown in every direction until she’s lying completely naked. There’s so much skin, every brush of Robin and Nancy’s hot skin on yours is overwhelming. Feather light touches suddenly feel like scorching pokers against your flesh.
Nancy is the first to move. She crawls closer to Robin’s legs and you can feel Robin go tense against you. Her eyes roam all over Robin’s body, fascinated by the abundant amount of freckles that litter her arms, stomach and thighs.
Nancy gently lays a hand on Robin’s knee and looks at her. “May I?” She asks in a gentle tone.
Robin, the sweet thing, looks at you for an answer. She looks apprehensive, more for you than herself. With everything that’s happened today, you’d think there wouldn’t be any more lines to cross, but you think it’s cute that Robin still doesn’t want to make either of you upset.
“It’s okay babe.” You smile reassuringly at her. “Let Nancy take care of you, if you want.”
Robin turns back to Nancy, and nods certainly. Nancy’s mouth falls open in a delighted smile, pleasantly surprised.
You sit up straight and lean back against the headboard opening your arms. Robin scoots and nestles between your legs, her back against your stomach.  She rests her head on your between breasts and you wrap your arms around her, enveloping her in a comforting hold.
Nancy settles in between Robin’s legs, lowering herself flat against the bed. She eases her legs open, digging her fingers into the plushness of Robin’s inner thighs, and you can feel Robin shudder along your body. Nancy makes a sound of approval when Robin fully opens up to her. You rub soothing strokes along Robin’s arms.
Nancy experimentally licks through Robin’s wet folds, enjoying the taste of her, and Robin’s reaction is immediate. She whimpers and arches her back against you, opening her mouth and panting. You lean down and kiss the top of her head.
“I’m already so—fuck.” Robin struggles to say. Her hips buck involuntarily, Nancy constricts her arms around Robin’s thighs to keep her from moving. “I’m already so close it’s not even funny.” She finishes.
It is funny, you think. Robin’s been wound up for a while, and you know it’s because she was ravenously eating out you and Nancy like she hadn’t had a meal in days. It got her worked up more than anything you could actually do to her physically. Robin gets off on giving, and that didn’t change just because another person was involved.
Nancy starts to work faster after Robin’s admission, tongue expertly dancing over Robin’s already sensitive clit. You watch with hungry eyes as Nancy greedily laps at your girlfriend’s cunt. A wispy breath escapes you and you’re unable to control yourself. You glide your hands over Robin’s chest, groping both of her tits. She moans deep in her chest at the extra stimulation. You tweak and roll her nipples between your fingers and her head falls to the side at the amount of pleasure she’s receiving.
“Need—little more.” Robin cries out and closes her eyes tightly.
Nancy hums in acknowledgment against her and presses the tips of two fingers against her entrance, slowly stretching her to fit them. With Robin already so wet, it didn’t take long for Nancy to fully sheath two digits deep inside her. Nancy starts to gently pump her fingers into Robin and you feel a deep rumble against your front. Robin wiggles in your hold, clutching the bedsheets with a vice like grip, trying desperately not to cum too fast.
Nancy looks up through her lashes and watches as you leisurely toy with Robin’s tits. Inspired, Nancy curls her fingers and fucks Robin faster, licking tight, quick circles around her aching clit. Robin whines and starts to roll her hips in time with Nancy’s movements. Every touch sends a shiver through Robin. You find it amazing how sensitive she is given that neither you or Nancy have touched her till this point. The thought makes you absently squeeze Robin’s tits a little harder, and she yelps in response.
“Oh—oh fuck.” She whimpers, her breathing becoming uneven.
You move one hand away from her chest and grab her chin, forcing her to look up at you.
“Open your eyes babe.” You mewl, swiping your thumb across Robin’s bottom lip.
Robin lets out a high pitched whine before opening her deep blue eyes to look at you. Her eyes are glassy and unfocused, a film of hazy desire blanket them and she looks so out of it.
“Nancy’s doing such a good job isn’t she?” Your voice is warm and soft. Robin breaths raggedly through her nose and nods. You kiss Robin’s sweaty forehead and force her head to turn back to Nancy. “Tell her. Tell her how it feels.” You command. Robin’s breath hitches at the timbre of your voice.
Robin groans when she locks eyes with Nancy. “It feels amazing, Nance. You’re—fuck. You’re gonna make me cum so fast.” Robin chokes out, brows furrowing.
Nancy makes a whimpering muffled noise between Robin’s legs. Encouraged by the praises, she works double time against Robin’s cunt, focusing her efforts on reaching deep inside with faster thrusts,  and her tongue continues its sloppy, erratic lashing on her clit.
You go back to fondling Robin’s tits again, using the pads of your thumbs to rub lazy circles over her hardened nipples. Robin’s eyebrows crease together as she tries to concentrate on the bombardment of sensations she’s receiving.
“Shit. Fuck. I’m—” Robin goes quiet and still against you, her back muscles spasm against your torso and her legs jut out straight becoming stiff as boards. Her long arm reaches down and grabs a fistful of Nancy’s hair and holds her still, hips bucking in a broken rhythm into her face. A guttural moan bursts from Robin as she arches off of you and cums on Nancy’s pretty face.
You run soothing strokes along Robin’s arms and whisper sweet nothing against her head as she rides out her climax. Nancy slows her movements, coaxing out as much pleasure as she can for Robin, only stopping when Robin starts to wince and squirm away from her.
Robin goes listless in your embrace, panting hard. Nancy pulls back and sits on her knees, licking her dripping lips, not wanting to waste any of Robin’s wetness. She stares at you and Robin and smiles endearingly.
“I’ve been out of practice for a while, I hope that was okay.” Nancy says, half joking.
Robin snorts. “Shut up, Wheeler. You know that was more than okay.”
The three of you laugh together, unbridled and joyous. It’s a surreal feeling, considering what you just did with your girlfriend and best friend. There’s no awkwardness hanging in the air, at least, there hasn’t been for a while, and the energy in the room can only be described as serene. You keep thinking to yourself that you should be feeling some kind of shame, or regret, but those feelings never come.
Nancy is smiling, wide and toothy, eyes crinkling at the corners. You rarely see Nancy with such an unrestrained smile.
Robin is laughing, in that high pitched, scratchy kind of way you only really hear when she’s too excited about something.
Seeing the two people you love most in the world be so happy and comfortable with each other after engaging in something extremely emotional and physically intense has you almost teary eyed. You can’t sense any regret from them either.
Suddenly, everything falls into place.
Half an hour passes by, and the three of you are in a tangled mess of sweaty limbs on the bed. Your bedsheets hang halfway off the mattress, and clothes are tossed all over the room. Robin lays sandwiched between you and Nancy, her arms around both of you. Nancy has her back against Robin’s left side, using her shoulder as a pillow and clutching the rest of arm. You’re snuggled up tightly on Robin’s right side, your arm around her torso and head on her chest. The room is too warm and reeks of sex. You know you should probably crack a window or something, but you can’t bring yourself to move, not when you’re this comfortable.
“She’s fast asleep.” You hear Robin whisper to you.
You sit up slightly and check on Nancy, who’s indeed fast asleep, breathing softly through parted lips. She looks so peaceful. You shift slightly in Robin’s hold, facing her closely.
“Robin…” you begin to say, keeping your voice low. “Are you okay?”
Robin notices your worried expression, and pulls you closer against her.
“Yeah. Yeah I’m okay. I promise.” She smiles genuinely, and you feel reassured.
She looks like she wants to say something else, and you wait to see if she does. Your stomach drops with more and more after each passing second of silence.
Robin takes in a huge breath, careful not to wake Nancy. “But, what happens now? I don’t think this is what you were expecting when we were talking in the  kitchen.”
You think back to earlier when you were getting Nancy’s glass of water with Robin. The two of you had talked about seeing where it could possibly go with Nancy, and both you and Robin agreed that whatever happened, happened, and that the two of you would be okay with it, but neither of you could have predicted it going this far.
“Yea…it kinda just kept going huh?” You say, a little embarrassed and Robin fails to hold in a laugh.
Nancy stirs and you and Robin go still. She turns over in Robin’s embrace, and absently throws her arm around Robin’s front, her hand clutching around yours. Even though Nancy is still fast asleep, oblivious of what she just did, your heart flutters at the sweet gesture. The fact that she did it in her sleep makes it so much better.
“I don’t know what happens next but, maybe we can just enjoy whatever this is? At least for now.” You look at Robin, studying her reaction.
Robin purses her lips, deep in thought. She regards the sleeping girl on her chest and brings her hand up to run her fingers lightly through Nancy’s hair. Nancy makes a small, content noise in her sleeping state. Then, Robin does the same to you and you close your eyes enjoying the comforting motions.
“I think I can get behind that.” Robin says with a smile.
You can figure this all out later, but for now, you curl into your girlfriend and hold your best friend’s hand a little tighter. The light sounds of Robin and Nancy’s steady breathing lull you into a tiredness you didn’t know you were feeling, and before you know it, you fall fast asleep with a smile on your face.

happy three years to this blog!
in honor of hotchocolateboy turning three, i just wanted to write a little dedication to what this account has done for me over the years.
tw// depression, anxiety, abuse, covid, elderly caretaking, just overall a sad time
i discovered starkid as a fifteen year old nerdy prude during quarantine who hated swearing and sex jokes. but for some reason i latched onto all the starkid musicals so quickly. it was an escape. sure, from the global pandemic and the deep lonliness i felt, but also from my abusive father and step mother. with my headphones in, my world was no longer the deep pit of dispair i existed in. i could be on the oregon trail, i could be a starship ranger, i could watch eldritch horrors unleash terror upon Michigan. all the normal things.
that same year my grandparents, who basically raised me, got COVID. and for some reason, they never really recovered. they both have dementia, and it got worse. it broke my soul, and even the music couldn't save me. so i sat in the dark, and started writing a story in my head about alice woodward moving in with paul and emma.
this obviously turned into Not Your Perfect Teen. it wasn't great, my writing skill hadn't quite caught up to my imagination yet. so while my mother and i caretook for her parents, i could make alice find joy, even if i couldn't.
the hours moving them from my childhood home to an assisted living, spending hours upon hours in a walmart debating which dining table my grandma could easily sit at, listening to Wayward Guide for the Untrained eye. writing lexthan oneshots while crying in a lawyers office, while my mother helped her parents set up their will. i was doing at sixteen what most people do at fourty.
so i started a blog.
mostly to talk about my fics, but that quickly became me finding people who understood the same jokes i did. people who wrote stories that brought me to tears. people who also loved these random millenials from michigan.
but when school came back to in-person all the time, my obsession dwindled. people in my real life thought my wiggly shirt was stupid. they didn't care about tin can brothers, they ignored my attempts at humor.
until i graduated this may.
until i moved to college.
until i made no friends in a new state.
until i was completely alone again.
until i wanted to die.
until i logged back into tumblr.
and things were different. i had bought nerdy prudes early, and the big names in the community had changed. people made me laugh, and somehow i made others laugh. i rewrote my fics, until i was proud of them. and for some reason, other people liked it to. so i wrote, and i read, and i created.
and i didn't want to die anymore.
and i dropped out of college.
and i decided i deserve friends that love me.
and i moved back home.
three years after i started this blog, it saved my life. so thank you, if you ever left kudos, or reblogged a post, or created any content in this space.
sorry this was a bummer lol

So I recently watched through all the major StarKid shows that are available on YouTube and decided to rank them from least favorite to favorite. This was really hard because most of them are just so good in their own way, but I did my best.
12. Me and My Dick
Yeah, this one wasn't for me. It definitely has heart, and I like the message of accepting both love and lust as normal and healthy aspects of attraction, but the whole premise was just too juvenile for me to really get past, personally.
11. ANI: A Parody
I had this really sinking feeling when I realized that the characters weren't going to be singing any of the songs. I can respect experimenting with the medium, but it felt less like a musical and more like a movie with licensed music that just happened to be performed on a stage. The plot also felt like a lot of nothing, and while the comedy writing was pretty good like any StarKid production, it wasn't enough to make up for it.
10. A Very Potter Sequel
The Potter musicals are pretty low on this list because I just don't have the nostalgia for them, but even with that in mind, I was a little disappointed with this after the first one. It's still good; it just couldn't "recapture the magic", so to speak. It goes on for too long, and Umbridge and Lucius, while they do get a few laughs, just can't compare to how iconic Voldemort was in the first one. Draco was easily the best part of this show for me.
9. Holy Musical B@man!
Even watching this in a time where I'm growing sick to death of superheroes and even superhero parodies, it's a pretty solidly fun show. Good jokes, good songs, good performances. I probably would've enjoyed it more back in my Mainstream Nerd Culture phase that I went through shortly after this came out, but it's still pretty good.
8. A Very Potter Senior Year
A definite improvement over AVPS. Voldemort is back, and while he doesn't live up to his presence in the first one, he's still pretty great. I'm not sure why this recording is a performance at a con with the actors holding the scripts, but it didn't bother me at all. In fact, it kinda added to the charm. And I'll admit - even though I don't have any nostalgia for these shows - I kinda got a little teary-eyed towards the end.
7. A Very Potter Musical
Even with all the hype behind it, I honestly didn't have very high expectations for this show, but it ended up being lot better than I thought it would be. There's just something so...pure about it. For the group's first production, it's a really good start. Voldemort and his dynamic with Quirrell was amazing.
6. Starship
This one is just really cute and fun. Those first few minutes in I already just had a big smile on my face. The puppetry and sets were really pleasing to look at, and as usual, the songs were great - probably among my favorites. I also love how Little Mermaid-coded the story is. Bug is just such a Little Guy.
(If I had a nickel for every time I got really attached to a character named "Bug" played by a StarKid cast member, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice in one year, right?)
5. The Trail to Oregon
Peak StarKid silliness. It's hilarious, the songs are bangers, and it's all around just a great time. It kinda loses me near the end with all the fart noises, which is what knocks it down a bit, but most of it is such a blast.
4. Firebringer
I don't really have much of a reason as to why I put this show here other than that I guess I just really vibe with it. It has good music and humor like any StarKid show, but I also really appreciate how it's a female-centric story with some sapphic representation, even if it definitely could've been fleshed out better.
3. Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier
This is absolutely the best parody musical from StarKid's lineup, no contest. I may be biased because of how much of a Disney Person I am, but I love all the little references and nods (although the whole "2D department" thing just makes me sad, come on Disney, I am still angrily tapping my foot). It's not only a fun parody, but a really clever and heartfelt one too.
2. Black Friday
So when I first watched this back in 2020, I liked it, but I was a little disappointed in it compared to its predecessor. However, watching it again after some time has passed...it still has its flaws that I could go on about, but its strengths far outweigh them. I was debating on whether I wanted to put it this high because I don't necessarily think it's better than, say, Twisted, but as a Hatchetfield fan, I just simply like it more. It's a really impressive production, and it's grown on me a lot.
1. The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals
This is the first StarKid musical I ever saw, and it's still my favorite. Do I even need to explain myself? It's just a great concept with a great execution. S-tier, 10/10, no notes.

Mallow Flowers (1)
Tumblr media
Malva sylvestris: Mallow carries many symbolic meanings that overlap, including romantic interest, healing, and survival in tough conditions.
(a/n) This is my first TWD fic but I've been watching the series for a while :) This post will also continue into a series, thankyou so much for reading and any feedback is appreciated (a/n end)
You don't know how long it had been since the world fell apart, days? weeks? months? It didn't matter, all you could focus on was the burning in your feet and shins, and the painful cramp in your ribs. The sun beamed down through the trees, what was once a beautiful green canopy you could find solace in, now obstacles as you ran through the woods, forcing yourself to keep going against your body's will. In some desperate attempt to ignore its pleas your mind went to anything it could, and that was the cause of the world’s fall. You had never been religious but you thought if there was a god, he had one fucked up sense of humor to bring the dead back to life. Though as if he heard you, an unearthed root caught your worn down sneakers and sent you tumbling head first down a hill.
Finally your body came to a stop, more bruised than before, a stinging cut adorning the bridge of your nose, you're pretty sure it's broken. A groan left your lungs and you shifted to get up, but you were barely able to lift your hands more than a few inches off the muddy soil. Muddy… OH MY GOD. Mud, the sign that there was a stream in reach. As soon as the promise of water reached your cloudy mind, so did the scratchy feeling in your mouth and throat, that small stream suddenly became your goal, a life line to reach for.
Deep breath in, deep breath out. Hand gripping the earth, slightly pushing your body up slowly, following the rhythm of your now caught breath. It was agonizing, not the physical pain, but the sound of running water, that couldn't be more than ten feet away, but was miles out of reach. Though you were never one to give up, not when you were little, not when your teenage self thought being happy was impossible, and definitely not now, not when your life depended on it when your life depended on it.
“Dad this is impossible, can't we just stop for today?”
The wooden bow clutched that had fired arrows anywhere but the red not in the middle of the target. You knew it was possible to let go of that string and had the sharpened tip make a bullseye. You've seen it done many times, even by the tall man next to you, but in your hands it felt like you were destined to fail.
“It ain't impossible y/n, you just need practice more, if you give up now y'all know if the next arrow you shoot i'll be the one to hit that target”
His eyes met yours, and they held the same look they did whenever you tried to give up, the encouragement and strictness that kept you trying.
You hadn't hit a bullseye that day, but you went out the next and the next until that red dot no longer seemed like a threat, but an achievable target you had learned to concur.
Each movement felt like dragging a weight behind you, the overexertion, sleep deprivation, and over all malnourishment was catching up. You didn't know you had crossed what felt like the Oregon trail to the stream until the cuts on your hands stung slightly at the cool liquid. It didn't take long for you to dunk your face into it, all reasonable thought gone as you scooped water into your mouth with your hands, stomach hurting from the odd feeling of not being completely empty. Laying back to face the sky you felt as though for the first time since the end, you weren't completely fucked. You knew you weren't safe, not with the dead walking, but that didn't stop your lead heavy eyelids from betraying you and falling closed.
Dreams have meanings, hell theres books about it. But you didn't quite know what a dream about a crossbow wielding man carrying you away from the stream you passed out is supposed to symbolize. Maybe he was sometime of guardian angel here to bring you to the afterlife? Who knows, if he is, at least your guardian angel's handsome
Fun fact of the post: I just got broken up with (^-^)

Why Are So Many of My Foraging Classes Online?
Fall semester has started, which means a whole new round of classes. While I don’t get as much consistency in who’s attending compared to someone teaching credit courses where an entire cohort may take multiple classes from the same instructor, I still get to enjoy both the fun of meeting new students, and also seeing some familiar faces from folks who decided to take another class from me. It’s also a time for fielding a variety of questions leading up to various classes; some of them are unique, but I can usually count on a roundup of the usual queries like whether students will need any materials, if online classes will be recorded, and whether the term “remote” on a foraging class equals “foraging classes online” or “foraging classes in remote areas.” (I didn’t choose the term; it’s one that some of the community colleges and other venues I work with prefer.)
Tumblr media
I always clarify that remote classes are, in fact, online. It may seem a little counterintuitive to be holding a class on looking for edible mushrooms and plants virtually. But there are a few good reasons for it.
First, while I was teaching pre-pandemic, I and many other educators ramped up our Zoom classes when people went into lockdown at the beginning of the pandemic in late winter of 2020. That coincided with a surge in interest in foraging classes at the same time. Some folks were now sitting with a bunch of time on their hands where they didn’t have to work, and thought about things they wanted to learn about but had never had the time for. Others were concerned about the food shortages at grocery stores, worried that the pandemic would exacerbate issues with supply lines, and wanted to look for alternative ways to acquire food. So I put together the online mushroom hunting and PNW foraging classes I’ve taught since then.
And they’ve been continually popular ever since then. The one silver lining of the pandemic was that it increased the infrastructure for online classes, making them more appealing and accessible to people, as well as easier for instructors to use. I’d never even used Zoom prior to that point, and while it’s been a bit of a learning curve since then I’ve mostly gotten the hang of it.
But I also like online classes because they’re accessible. I can offer a variety of one-time classes through numerous venues, often with regional information customized into each class, and people can choose from multiple dates and times. Moreover, not everyone is physically able to go out into off-trail land looking for mushrooms or plants for several hours, but they still may be interested enough in foraging in less rugged places at their own pace and want a concise introduction to what they need to know to get started. And some folks who are immunocompromised aren’t comfortable going to in-person classes, whether inside or outside, so online classes are a safe alternative.
Tumblr media
Time is also a consideration; it’s a lot easier for people to set aside a couple of hours to listen to a Zoom class on a weekday evening or Saturday morning, than to commit to traveling to a place, spending X number of hours out in the field, and then traveling back home. I’ve even had attendees multitask during classes with household chores, making art, etc.–as long as they can pay attention to their satisfaction, I’m fine with it. It’s also not uncommon for someone to be unable to attend the live class, but to watch the recording instead and email me questions afterward.
And, of course, there’s the fact that I live three hours away from Portland and about the same distance away from the Olympia-Tacoma-Seattle area, where a lot of my classes are based. I wouldn’t be able to teach nearly as much if I did everything in person. At this point I offer the better part of 100 individual class sessions a year, hosted by venues from Oregon to Connecticut, and having most of my nature and foraging classes online means I can reasonably reach a lot more people who wouldn’t have access to my in-person classes.
Is it the same as going out in the field and foraging? Of course not. I can give people detailed information on identifying new-to-them species, and tips for safe and effective foraging, and some photos of beginner-friendly plants and mushrooms. But that’s not equivalent to going out to a place, exploring it on foot, and seeing different species in the context of their habitats, handling them and doing live identification right there in the field.
Sometimes I’m able to offer a workaround; every spring, summer, and fall through Portland Community College, for example, I offer a Nature ID Field Day open to anyone who has taken any of my online identification classes (foraging, mushrooms, birding, etc.) It’s a chance for participants to make use of the identification skills and tools we discussed online, and try them out in person. While we don’t only focus on foraging, we usually find some things along the way that happen to be edible. Plus it’s a good excuse to spend a few hours outside with other nature nerds!
Tumblr media
And I do other in-person events now and then for various venues, like nature walks and indoor classes. Plus I’m trying to get the immense amount of paperwork pulled together to legally be able to offer independent guided tours in 2023, which will provide even more opportunities to work with people in person in the field.
But I will always have some natural history and foraging classes online, because I think it’s an incredibly important format for reasons I’ve already described. It’s not for everyone; some folks will always prefer in-person events, and that’s completely understandable! From the feedback I’ve gotten, though, demand for online classes isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and I’m glad I can make them available to so many people.
Did you enjoy this post? Consider taking one of my online foraging and natural history classes, checking out my other articles, or picking up a paperback or ebook I’ve written! You can even buy me a coffee here!

I really get a frick-ton of enjoyment out of old games, and I don't know why. A lot of them are so stupid and silly - and incredibly frustrating to boot - but yet I can't seem to hate them.
The first one that comes to mind that has a special place in my heart is Oregon Trail II. Not the text-based one, but the one with a lot of visuals and sound effects and it's very old-timey, not just in the fact it takes place in the oooooold USA, but in the graphics compared to modern-day games as well.
That game is so stupid. And yet it's so genius at the same time. It's infuriating how you can just die for seemingly no reason - that if you hunt animals you are very likely to accidentally shoot yourself - that you can spend so long trying to be as careful as possible on a run all for you to just die suddenly because the RNG decided it.
I still love playing it. The entire experience of it, really. But if we were only taking the player's experience into account and nothing else, it really is a shit game. You will have a miserable time for at least a few minutes out of any run, I guarantee it, and it will likely be a lot LONGER than a few minutes too.
But that's completely by design. The educational aspect of the game is subtle enough to where it doesn't FEEL like it's in your face, but every facet of the experience down to the emotions you experience while you play are, in themselves, teaching you something about what it was like back then. Of course, grumbling at silly migration video game is not nearly as bad as it was actually dying of cholera, starvation, or hypothermia, but it's about as close as the game can legally get to putting you into that experience.
There is something so perfect about Oregon Trail II and yet not a lot of people talk about it, I feel like. It's an exceedingly old game that most systems can't play without an emulator, so I suppose it makes sense. But I, being born in 2002, played it when I was in school, and to me that's also crazy. Oregon Trail II came out in 1995 and I was playing it in, at the EARLIEST, 2007, but it was more likely to be 2008 or 2009. Maybe all three years, actually. I remember loving the game even though I didn't understand what was happening and never actually got to the expedition part. I just liked buying up all the bacon, and the aesthetics of the game.
It's not just Oregon Trail II I like despite being so old, either. I like atari games in general, although many of them are hard for me to figure out. The Nintendo Switch Online thingies have a lot of old/older/oldish games to play and i like exploring those lists and just opening games i know nothing about and trying to figure them out. One of the games I did this with was called Burger Time and it was so hard for me to figure out (because i am stupid) that I had to look up a guide for it... a guide for fuckin BURGER TIME bro.
anyway, when i have my own house i think i will collect a lot of old games and play them. and probably write about them. get ready
-inkus
plinkus edit:
i tried playing psycho dream, i think it was named, on the switch emulator. it was pretty boring. the title screen looked neat though.
i unno about burger time specifically, but older games tend to lack tutorials and stuff, so its prolly normal to look up guides. it might be less authentic to the old games experience though, if theyre from before big internet. i dont think its worth the suffering of trial and error personally, when u can just google it, but its possible that that's fun for some people.
i do like some arcade games a lot, if that counts for this topic. like, the aesthetic of them is real cool. the music's also real cool. i like galaga and the ones like it in particular, but im not very good at them. i also really like dig dug, or maybe it was dig dug 2 that i liked. the green creatures are real cool.
i also like tetris, especially some of the music. i watched a couple youtube videos of a puyo puyo-tetris player that were real cool. i also tried playing a puyo puyo game on the switch emulator i think, but it seemed like it'd be too difficult for me. something about setting up color patterns for chains later is...incomprehensible. maybe theres a secret pattern to it or something.
- plinkus
inkus edit / reply:
i have disliked tetris for a majority of my life, as a result of my "hating mainstream things" arc; that's a wall im slowly trying to break though. what *I* liked from back in the day was the pokemon puzzle league, which was i think the equivalent to tetris nostalgia that others play. puzzle league is also on the nintendo switch online - and it might be the nostalgia talking, but thats good shit. anyway, i think i would enjoy the original tetris if i played it. i've played tetris clones and enjoyed them but i dont enjoy them as much as i think others do. i think some other puzzle types are more enjoyable to me.
i dont kno what puyo puyo is adandans and i also dont know what galaga is but i have DEFINITELY heard the word galaga before
i might try psycho dream if i can find it, mostly out of curiosity. i think a lot of things u think are boring are things i find fun sahdasndna
i am glad you mentioned that its just a thing where old games lacked tutorials; i thought i must be crazy, because every game from that era i've tried, they just... start.
like for one example stepdad got a gift one year from me and my mom that was an atari console with like a "150 built in games" type thing or something? I know ones exist where it apparently has like 2600 games and they're like $300-400. i could really spend hundreds of hours just exploring those worlds. like, if i had the money to do so i would definitely buy one of those if they ACTUALLY had 2600 fricken games in there.
but the fact you just get thrown into it without instructions can, for the most part, stress me out. like it makes me feel a bit stupid that i can't understand what's happening, because i just imagine some 6 year old in the 80s laughing at me for not being able to get it even though i'm 21. and, obviously, it isnt that i "can't understand" or "CANT get" the games, because i enjoy them actively. it's just me needing instructions. maybe its autism related? or just me being a lil dummy
anyway to continue my previous thought im glad u brought it up because i didnt want to do the "walk of shame" to the google search bar to type 'why cant i understand how old game do :(((((((((('

So I’m thinking about the lovers through the ages AU as always. And I just saw a pic of Hailee from True Grit on one of my feeds snd it just had me thinking…
KY!Pioneer/Oregon Trail AU
Did you ever see that movie with Vanessa Kirby and Katherine Waterson, The World To Come? I’m seeing those vibes, but like…it could go several ways.
One way it could go is that Kate is traveling with her parents/family while Yelena is traveling with her husband. Of course Kate catches some suss activity between them one night when she wakes to pee and is creeping around the campsite, wherein said husband beats Yelena and she’s stone cold/turns the other cheek defiantly, which you know, shouldn’t Do Things to Kate, but it kind of does because it’s something she’s just not used to seeing…so she sneaks back to her wagon and has to squeeze in between her siblings (one of which will inevitably die on the journey RIP little baby Frederick) and tries to go back to sleep but now she can’t stop thinking about the other woman and also what the actual fuck is happening to her, why is she feeling so hot all of a sudden??? Anyway, as the days carry on, Kate starts to watch them more closely and can’t help but notice they aren’t like the other couples traveling. She starts trying to sort of not-so-subtly step in and Yelena is like, if you know what’s good for you, you’ll back the fuck off bitch, you’re going to get yourself killed. He isn’t somebody to mess around with. If you could see the scars on my body, you would know. So naturally, fighting and flirting and sneaking around shenanigans ensue until Kate accidentally kills Yel’s husband in an effort to try and defend/protect Yelena, and it becomes An Issue because of messy reasons. But this also completely shifts the way Yelena views little miss Katherine Bishop because until now she’d thought little of her except how spoiled and innocent she seemed.
The other route is that Kate is married to a man and Yelena has bought her passage West as a helping hand to the pair…lots of livestock, that kind of thing. Kate is, of course, inexplicably attracted to Yelena as she watches her driving the oxen or making bullets or whatever else they’ve got to take care of because we know that women who were a part of the wagon train often had to step outside the bounds of what was considered “traditional” domestic affairs for the sake of survival AND DAMN IT ALL if this woman can’t give any man a run for his money, which has Kate going absolutely feral. Like one of the oxen breaks a leg while getting the wagon over a rough patch of ground, and not only does she put it out if it’s misery, she steps in and pulls the fucking wagon out from where it’s gotten stuck. Picture Yelena with a human yoke absolutely hauling ass with buckets of water and not a drop is lost because she might be strong like bull but she’s also delicate as fuck when she needs to be. (*cough* Kates about to find out just how delicate she can be…and not be *cough*) Anyway. She absolutely breaks Katherine’s brain. Then one night Yelena saves Kate’s life by shooting a coyote or wolf or something that’s about to attack her, after Yelena has already told Kate like one million times that’s it’s a bad idea to go out walking alone in the dark 🤷‍♀️ and Kate’s just like “oops…think you could reach me how to use that gun??” And Yelena just rolls her eyes and is like you’re going to get killed if I don’t, aren’t you? but BUT halfway through the journey, Kate’s husband dies of dysentery and now they’re traveling alone…except it’s totally within reason that Kate would become the head of house, because Wagon Train Rules…did this just become a domestic partnership? Well, it’s not *not* that.
In either case, Yelena has A History and maybe it involves murder, maybe it doesn’t, but either way, she’s leaving the life she had on the east coast to find her sister, Natasha, whose last known whereabouts was a cathouse called the red room. Katherine Bishop is just along for the ride and didn’t really want to be there at all until she met Yelena. Now she finds herself oddly invested in making it West.
Boom. I don’t care if anyone else is into this, I’m frothing. I’ll be here for the next several days…sorry I went a little overboard there.
YOU KNOW WHAT...........I kinda like it when y'all decide it's "story hour" in my inbox tell ME little gay things. Then I don't have to do the work lol

Nintendo Switch: The Oregon Trail
So, an online search getting ready for a “Target Run” for a humidifier had me stumbling into pre-Black Friday Black Friday Sales! I was looking to see what games were on sale and stumbled upon this game, I was shook. They made this digital? This game is a classic, simple yet so much harder than it looks. I ended up getting the gift card credits for this, as well as my sister, and there went our whole day. No regerts though, let’s jump in.
Tumblr media

More info: https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/the-oregon-trail-switch/
My Thoughts On The Game:
This comes at a $25-$30 price point, pretty good. The introduction shows that in its modernization, societal sensitivities tries to tell a more “realistic” story. This has good and bad ways this plays out in society, but it works in this game. Classic side stroller. Graphics are a cute mix of pixel (classic look for the game) and 3D scenes. Music is on point, like I was completely at peace watching, playing, and listening to that game. Menu is kind of complicated but the introduction does a very good job of walking you through it at a good pace. There is always how to information available at any time in your game play. You pick your crew, and picking the wrong people could have consequences, your supplies, and your ride. Then you get going. There is massive replay value in the fact that playing the main story line opens up side stories. Side stories unlock other characters and tools. After a long day playing, we quit and save only to discover so much more. There is online modes and mini events, different modes of play.
Watch This: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q623BxXOM0o
This reads a lot like 3rd World Farmer, an online only game that I hope one day gets made into an app...or even a switch game. Gotta love Youtube, the way that back in the day, one could get lost in music videos...one gets lost in game play trailers. This is a must for families, history buffs, and a great way to experience something many of ancestors did with less risk. Think about it, we wouldn’t call this place home, if others in the past had left their home. Love it, let me know if your party makes it!

Milan 2 Juventus 0
Tumblr media
You knew who was going be featured in this post game graphics...you knew…
Warning: I've been gone and am feeling a little bit chatty...
TATARUSANU 7 Clean sheets get at least a 7 from me and he was also decent on the only couple of threats Juve managed to muster. He does have a confidence to his demeanor that he didn't really have last season. Nice to see
KALULU 7 Love watching this kid play. His anticipation...so fun to see. Was solid throughout but the only thing that didn't make his a 7.5 or an 8 was his lack of getting forward. Don't know if that was by design but we'll dig into this below
GABBIA 7 Maybe a little high but I didn't really notice anything glaring about his performance. Looked confident as well. I suppose playing a toothless Juve attack helps anyone
TOMORI 8 Co-MOTM Mike was dead on with his post on Friday - Tomori hasn't been very good so far this season. Apparently he read Mike's words and stepped up to the challenge. I was noticing his play before the goal and he was MUCH better in every facet of the game: anticipation, tackling, angles, aggressiveness. Everything looked better (again, the newborn baby deer-like sturdiness of Juventus's attack helped) but a much needed top-end performance. The goal was just the icing
HERNÁNDEZ 7 Solid in both aspects of the game. Sure was nice having him back in the lineup. His runs are fun to watch and causing so much scrambling by the opponent
BENNACER 7 Warrior. Took a beating and played the whole game
TONALI 7 Solid again. So fun to watch him own Locatelli. Nothing like reminding Juve fans of this every matchup
POBEGA 6.5 Very industrious day for the youngling. Didn't make any highlight-reel plays but did a lot of the dirty work. Lisi would be proud
DÍAZ 8 Co-MOTM Started and was rather quiet to start. All of his best plays came when he was in the middle of the pitch, including that highlight-reel goal to put Milan up 2-0 and effectively ending the game. What a play by the little guy
LEÃO 7 Always a threat and hit the woodwork twice. The offense didn't seem to go through him as much this game and it could be the change in formation
GIROUD 6.5 Not bad by any means but didn't really impact the game the way we've become accustomed to this season. Still a solid workman-like performance from the vet
subs
KRUNIĆ 6 Came in for Pobega and pretty much asked to do the same thing: grunt work. He remined everyone why that's his best role when Brahim found him in the box alone and he headed it 10ft wide of the target
REBIĆ 6.5 Coming in up 2-0 and his nose for goal this season wasn't needed. Still, he made Juve work with constant pressure
CDK 6.5 Thought he played better than the last few games and was solid out wide. I don't know, maybe try him at RW instead of King All-Thumbs Krunić?...¯\_(ツ)_/¯
VRANCKX N/A Not going to rate him since he came in so late but, but...his instincts look good and his size and pace are impressive. I think we may see him get more and more playing time as the year progresses
ORIGI N/A I don't know...he played? That seems too generous
coaching
PIOLI 7 Gets a 7 from me because while I like the fact that he FINALLY changed formations (and beat Juve 2-0), I don't think he hit it out of the park. We'll dive in below
THOUGHTS
Tactics and Formation
Let's get this out of the way: Juve is terrible. Not like relegation-terrible but for the wage bill and overall financial health of the club (and that's assuming the books are legit...), they're dog sh*t. Watching them try to build up play is torture. Then to make matters worse they try to build from the back...oye. I wanted to gouge my eyes out. Once the ball leaves Szczesny's possession it's an Oregon Trail-like gambit. Cuadrado probably died of typhoid at halftime and that's why he was subbed out for McKennie. Just brutal.
So with that caveat, Milan's defense was much better and most importantly they kept their shape. The 3-man midfield undoubtedly helped that effort. Was it overkill after that lazy second half vs Chelsea mid-week? Probably. No, actually it was and it left Milan's attack directionless for sizeable chunks of the game.
I know all the reporting had Milan in the Xmas tree formation but it looked like a 4-3-3, which is what Fotmob had up as its predicted lineup. Look at the average player positioning in this game in Figure 1:
Tumblr media
I mean, look at the front 3. It's literally the front of a 4-3-3.
So what did this do? It didn't change much on the left, as Theo and Leão were doing their usual and that naturally pulled Juve's defense that way. Over on the right Brahim kept the width but the right side was dying for some overlapping runs (as I mentioned earlier, I really wanted to see Kalulu get forward more). Because Kalulu sat back more this allowed the right side of Juve's defense to crowd out Theo/Leão and Juve's left side to cheat towards the middle. This was especially prominent when Milan had the ball in the final third and had very little success doing, well, much of anything. All of this should be familiar to us Milan fans as this tends to be how defenses try and play Milan when they're in their usual 4-2-3-1 (and why a new RWer and/or production of any sort from whoever is at RW is needed).
When Juve was backed up you saw what I described just above, but in transition, when Milan won the ball back above their 18yd box or in the middle of the pitch, Juve's shape was more evenly spread out and getting past Juve's midfield and CBs once Milan won the ball back was the key to unlocking their attack. Why? Bonucci and Bremer were higher up the pitch than most opponent CBs and left space in between them and their keeper. We saw something similar vs Salzburg and both the Salzburg keeper and Szczesny cleared a lot of balls when Milan tried to go over the top.
Considering these tactical decisions by Juve, many of Milan's most threatening attacks came right down the middle and having a player there who could receive and turn with the ball (and not immediate pass it back out wide, which is what Juve was playing for), could really cause some damage. On the plays Brahim did find his way towards the middle of the pitch he drew Juve's only yellow card when Cuadrado had to pull him back with a tactical foul to prevent him from springing a 3-on-2 counter, and then of course later in the game Brahim anticipating the passing lane - and being helped by a terribly lazy Vlahovic pass - and breaking away for the game-ending goal.
Pioli not starting the game with someone in the middle to exploit this, or even in general, could’ve been costly (and no, Pobega, who was making runs and getting forward, doesn’t count. Need a real CAM in there). Serie A is still pretty clustered at the top and Pioli needs to get these right. I know he mostly has but the margins have been tighter than last season.
Takeaways
I like Pioli actually changing formation to start a game considering this isn't something we see him do a lot when short on bodies. The Krunić out wide at RW should never be tried again after the CL match vs Chelsea. Milan was doomed before kickoff that game with Krunić out wide.
But was this the right change? No. It was the wrong formation regardless of if it was a 4-3-2-1 as reported or a 4-3-3 in performance and functionality. The only way I would say they should play a 4-3-3 is with either of their actual RWers or by putting CDK out there, but if that's the case and those options are available then I wouldn't select a 4-3-3. The only way a 4-3-2-1 makes sense would be to have Brahim and CDK behind Giroud but then that takes Leao out, which is dumb. But Leão did play and if Leão and Brahim were both in the more traditional locations of the two players behind the striker then they would get in each other's way and negate some of their best offensive attributes: attacking in space.
I think the only two formations Milan should start any game with, barring some unforeseen catastrophic series of events, is with a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-1-2. That's it. We know - and I think all agree - the 4-2-3-1 is Milan's best shape, RW issues notwithstanding, but I think the 4-3-1-2 could work really well as well with Florenzi out wide on the right whipping in crosses and Theo and Leao still doing their thing on the left. It essentially only swaps out Milan's weakest position, RW, for an additional midfielder.
Regardless if it's a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-1-2, one of the things either of these formations need is a player who can turn and run with the ball in the CAM position. While CDK has shown signs of being able to do this it's not something he does on the regular (and why, in part, Milan struggled with Salzburg), Brahim seems to be the better fit in this system and why Milan seem to perform better with him out there when compared to CDK this season. Both players need to continue to get production from that RW spot though, so…and I can't believe I'm going to type this out: Milan need Messias or Saelemaekers back and soon(assuming Pioli won't play CDK out there, which is odd. With both of them out CDK at RW would be my go-to).
Quick hits
I posted this stat a few weeks back but here it is updated: Milan scores every 33.4 minutes with Brahim on the pitch, and every 61.6 minutes with CDK
Giroud got credit for an assist on his shot that hit Tomori and WAS NOT AT ALL A PASS, that then Tomori banged home after a favorable bounce. I think a rule change is in order: goals like this should not be credited as an assist for a dude who was clearly trying to score, or at the minimum start counting hockey assists on passes that are clearly consequential to the buildup of the goal. Like, cool, a dude lucks into an assist. Got it. But like hook a dude up who sprung a counter but wasn’t the second-to-last guy to touch it
Tatarusanu now has as many Serie A clean sheets as Magic Mike this season. I smell a controversy brewing...
Kalulu is at the minimum the defensive team MVP so far this season, and I would put him up there with Leão in terms of being indispensable. He's played in every game so far this season and when Pioli tried to rest him he got brought in due to injury every time and has already played at RB and both left and right CB positions
Juventus is really sh*tty. Have I already said that?
Alright, sound off below and I'll wait for some dude named Tom to correct something I said because I was off by thiiiiiissss much *pinching fingers closely together*.
Big game Tuesday vs Chelsea and need at least a point from that one. Finally, one last pic just for me...look at my favorite lil'guy! Look at him! Look at Bremer and his stupid face!

One even rested on the picture frame he lived in while telling me he was tired-just A+ scene chewing. They were far more entertaining than the 3rd Edition's click-the-crotch to talk function or the 5th Editions' cartoons. Rather than just reading what my party thought, each interaction with them came with a short clip, performed by some terrifically over-the-top actors.
How to install the oregon trail 5th edition Pc#
Weirdly for a game made in 1999, just as the '90s were ending, this version felt the most true to my memories of '90s PC gaming. You can shake your phone to pan for gold, steer the cart through a river to collect coins, hammer nails in a rhythm, and a lot of other nonsense. It's basically a lot of those annoying mobile minigames you see advertised while you're waiting for your own annoying mobile minigame to load, with some Oregon Trail flavor in there.
How to install the oregon trail 5th edition full#
This is a mobile game which has been pulled from the App Store, so I technically haven't played this one but I did watch a full Let's Play of the journey, so feel confident enough to put it on the list. I'm sure it was impressive back in 1975, but I'm not ranking them in 1975, so… what are you gonna do? 9. This one predates the game many of us would actually think of as the 'original' Oregon Trail, and it just feels too stripped-back and basic today despite its influence. It's obviously held back by technical limitations, but that doesn't change the fact it's not particularly fun or challenging. I'm not saying I have the mind of a child who can't follow a story unless there's pictures, but I'm also not not saying that. The game is literally all text, so it's a bit hard to get to grips with. I mean, a kid died on me, but other than that, it was pretty smooth sailing. I didn't always know what I was doing, yet never really encountered any hardships. This was actually the first one I cleared on my first try, but it didn't feel particularly satisfying. It proved so popular that it eventually inspired the 1980 Apple II version.
How to install the oregon trail 5th edition code#
For a few years, the original 1971 code only existed on a printed out stack of paper, before Rawitsch added it to a MECC mainframe. That's pretty much my experience with this one, which was the first created at MECC by programmer Don Rawitsch. Originally published by the Minnesota Educational Computing Consortium as an educational tool for schools in Minnesota, it was so popular it became a breakout hit, sold around the world across PCs and a variety of other platforms down the years, and spawned spin-offs like The Yukon Trail and The Amazon Trail. The series has sold over 65 million copies in total, and is one of the most popular, important, and definitive PC games of all time. I did play at least one version when I was younger, but recently devoted a few weeks to diving into every version of the most famous edutainment game of all time. Surely then, I'm perfectly qualified to compile the definitive ranking of every version of The Oregon Trail ever made. I'm from the Northeast of England, but they say the US and the UK mirror each other (I swear I've heard someone say that), and I like The Simpsons. The guy who created The Simpsons is from there, and it's in the Northwest United States. Finally play the game right away with no installation nonsense and with no more issues.Until recently I knew precisely two things about Oregon.
How to install the oregon trail 5th edition iso#
Start up PCEM as you normally would take the new ISO you created and mount it to the drive on PCEMħ. This bypasses the dumb installer issue I had and allows you to play the game immediately.Ħ. Install the game how you would normally.Ĥ.The same steps from number 2 applies for the OT3.exe then run the game and see how it goes.Įxtra steps: You will need a way to make a iso file like Power ISO etc also PCEM.ĥ.Go to the TLC folder and Oregon Trail 3 Folder and highlight everything in it then make the ISO. Right click the Setup.exe go to properties and compatibility mode make sure you check mark everything and set it to 256 colors as well as having it on Windows 98 compatible mode.ģ.
How to install the oregon trail 5th edition windows 7#
You must have a 32-bit system for this to work Windows 7 for example I have my PC double Partitioned to Windows 7-32 bit and the other side Windows 10.Ģ. After a long struggle I managed to finally get this game to work even on Windows 10! Unfortunately it has some graphical and sound issues you can use the ISO on here or the official CD tho.ġ.

So I was commissioned by @andrastesassets to write about the scene in “Satan and Me” where Satan gives his wings away for Natalie, but from his POV. This was kinda a big turning point as a wake-up call in the series for him, as you’re probably aware if you’ve read past that point and seen him be more open with his feelings and such. Anyway, it was a fun little thing to explore (yes, this is canon thoughts of his). I never expected to be commissioned to explore deeper into a canon of my stories that hasn’t been put into words before with the images alone of the updates, but I’m def open to that in the future!
Without further ado, here you go.
The looming presence behind him paled in comparison to the disorienting lurch his stomach gave as he kneeled on the unwelcoming cement floor. Keeping his gaze down, concentrating on the little tremors of his arms holding him upright, Satan struggled to properly see through the fog of stress clouding his mind. Clouding his judgement.
Fuck, this wasn’t the right thing to do, was it? Was he being too hasty? Should he spring up and sprint out the door before he followed through with something he couldn’t come back from? This was definitely one of his more impulsive and reckless decisions he’d ever committed to. Nothing could truly be worth this kind of –
Satan’s hand twitched, starting to rise as nerves got the best of him, when a blur of orange and maroon hovered on the edge of his peripheral. For a brief moment, he found himself vaguely wondering what the smudge of color was in the expanse of drab brown walls and muted trim.
Reality came crashing against him like an unforgiving tide for what seemed like the tenth time this morning. Sweat gathered at the base of his neck and he swallowed.
Satan returned his palm flat against the cement, locking his joints and muscles into place so that he would not stand up. His stomach did another discombobulated lurch.
Right. This was for Natalie. Natalie, who had no right looking so gray, Father, she was like a corpse.
She is a corpse! His mind howled the confirmation at him, leaving his breaths shallow in his welling panic.
Yes, that was true. It had been true for hours now, yet, somehow, the complete depth of what that really entailed eluded him in his denial. How could she be dead when she had talked to him only moments ago? Human’s lives had always felt fleeting, but had any ever felt quite this temporary before?
Less than a year they had been together . . . How had she burrowed this deeply under his skin? When? Satan tried to conjure a memory to pinpoint the exact moment Natalie had become a constant in his life as he bore his back to Death and Pestilence. In the end, it was fruitless. Between his ears remained endless static.
The tension in the air was suffocating. His arms trembled, but he kept his jaw clenched.
He would give them no further satisfaction when taking the last bit of value he still possessed of his former self. They would not see him fall apart at their feet. That could come later, when left in the privacy of this cold, dreary room, where he could lick his wounds and recover in peace.
He was still Lucifer, the Morning Star and omen of destruction to all who opposed him, wings or not.
But, fuck . . . Father, he would prefer to keep his wings.
Somehow, boneless and lightheaded from the trauma of the morning, Satan noticed, with a small sense of intrigue, that his back actually felt heavier now that it was empty. How was that possible?
The long gashes where the trunks had been swiftly carved open spewed boiling trails of lava down his skin, soaking into the hem of his robe and pooling Great Lakes onto the floor. Energy had left in his limbs the moment the numbing kiss of Death’s blade breached his muscles.
On wobbling legs, Satan rose in his shock and joined Natalie at her side. He carefully reached toward her, gliding the tips of his fingers against her ashen cheek, almost afraid to touch, because she looked exactly the same. What the hell? She looked no different than when she had been splayed out like a weathered ragdoll amongst her bedsheets at sunrise, goddamnit.
Before he could garner enough strength to turn on his company and spew venom and vitriol from his lips, Satan froze. Warmth wafted over his fingers under her nose as he lowered his hand. Closer inspection revealed the gentle rise and fall of her chest. The nauseating cramping in his stomach abated so suddenly, he almost keeled over right then and there.
“Give it a few minutes,” Death commented over his shoulder, as if reading his mind. There was no longer a smile in his voice, his face a neutral mask as Satan glanced at him with gritted teeth, the sight of his former pride being folded up and collected like loose laundry too much to bear. “It takes a little while for a soul to acclimate into their body after death. I assure you, her color and liveliness will rekindle when she wakes up.”
Through the haze, Satan vaguely realized he must’ve been making some type of suspicious face when Death suddenly snorted and shook his head, his eyes gleaming. “For all we’ve been acquainted, Lucifer, you should know I’m not one to break my word. Give my regards to little Natalie when she rejoins the land of the living, won’t you. As always, it’s been a pleasure. I look forward to seeing you and your brother again when the time comes for your big day.”
With the room empty, peppered only with the soft sounds of Natalie’s breaths and the distant echoes of Death’s laughter down the desolate hallway, the elephant in the room was no longer avoidable. Satan slumped against a wall, transfixed by the rise and fall of the chest beside him. Even more so as the rosiness began to fill Natalie’s cheeks the longer she breathed life into her form.
His previous adrenaline had left him a hollow puppet, now that there was no longer the turbulent cocktail of anxiety and doubt weighing on his shoulders. Satan allowed himself to drift to the floor, lying beside the only person he had ever met who had compelled him to do something so utterly foolish. Jesus, her daredevil stunts to ground him at his lowest points seemed to have rubbed off on him, and likely not for the better.
Satan’s wounds throbbed at the edges, a constant reminder of the magnitude of what he had just done.
Don’t think about it, his mind lethargically reminded. What’s done is done, so don’t start regretting it now.
“Prophecy child, huh . . . ” Satan muttered, his arm leveraged under his head like a makeshift pillow. The light cascading through the windows almost seemed to light up Natalie’s hair in its luminescence. Amongst the carnage splattered around them from his sacrifice, she was ethereal and without blemish.
He had found out about the Child of Prophecy by chance, becoming enraged at the notion of being kept in the dark so late in the game. Natalie’s existence had changed from an everyday annoyance to one of unbearable burden.
She had the power to sway him? To sway his empire and everything he worked for? A being like that, who would steal his autonomy or cast him spellbound, was too dangerous to fraternize with. There was just too much on the line to risk throwing away for some goofy, loud-mouthed human without an ounce of self-preservation.
And so Satan had done the only logical thing he could think of at the time: He ran away, leaving her with that pitiful, crumpled face as he rejected her in that inconsequential Oregon town. The less time he spent with her, the better off he’d be.
Only . . . That had not played out as he’d hoped. Watching Natalie disappear over the side of a bridge had been like a bolt of electricity coursing through his body. That she would see him as the monster that he was, a grotesque monstrosity that even Michael had recoiled from, and attempt to help him, regardless? Well . . . Perhaps there was more to Natalie McAllister than he had originally considered. He’d cradled her close and winced while he repaid her kindness by accidentally boiling her alive.
Oregon was a wake-up call.
Natalie had piqued his curiosity, her smiling reassurance that she didn’t befriend monsters jumpstarting the heart in his chest that he had presumed stopped functioning centuries ago. Not only that, but he had no way of knowing he would soon find out that running toward the very man attacking her and her cowardly little friend, despite the blatant terror in her eyes, was only the tip of the iceberg.
“Oh,” Satan muttered, something foreign flooding into his chest, emotion catching in his throat as he stared at Natalie’s slumbering form.
Silencing Hell for him at the cost of her soul . . .
Calling him her guardian angel. Crying, not for fear of Hell, but for fear of being separated from his company . . .
As much as he wanted to deny it, the fondness in Natalie’s eyes as she smiled at him was undoubtedly genuine. She really did seem to look at him like he hung the stars above her head.
“I love you, Lucifer. I’m glad I got to meet someone like you.”
Satan trembled, unable to properly sort through the sensations overflowing from his chest as Natalie’s eyelashes began to flutter. Champagne bubbles tickled his stomach, and though not required to breathe to live, he felt so remarkably breathless at once.
So that’s what this is, Satan distantly thought, watching pale eyelashes finally parting to reveal a cognizant gaze, blinking against the trickle of sunlight warming her cheeks. When meeting Natalie’s eyes, he couldn’t keep the smile of relief from his face.
Satan understood that he had never experienced this before, but he somehow knew what to latch onto in his jumbled mind with unquestionable conviction.
I love her.

there for you
summary: your best friend Bowen can’t help but draw some connections between you and your favorite show.
word count: 2k
warnings: heavy spoilers for New Girl. like, its basically the premise of the fic
note from the writer: here’s a link to a tweet with the scene im talking about in this fic, its from the episode “Oregon” (season 4 ep 16). shoutout to @bqstqnbruin for finding it for me
Tumblr media
Bowen had long since stopped asking to come over before showing up on your doorstep. Usually, he’d send a ‘are you home?’ text to make sure you were around, before heading to your apartment for whatever reason he had in mind.
The latest text had come in twenty minutes ago, so you knew he was going to show up soon.
Like clockwork, you heard a knock on your front door and Bowen greeting your roommates before your bedroom door opened. He was grinning, wide as ever, and you opened your arms for a hug from your position laying in bed, under the covers and in the middle of a New Girl marathon.
“Scoot over.” Bowen grins, barely giving you enough time to react before dropping on top of you, arms wrapped around your middle and his head nuzzled into the crook of your neck. You paused the show, not wanting to miss anything despite being on your third rewatch.
You wondered if he could feel how fast your heart was beating. If he knew just how much his touch affected you, how many feelings you were harboring from him.
“What’s up?” You asked, pushing away any thoughts about your massive crush on your best friend as you tried to get to the bottom of why he showed up out of the blue. It wasn’t the first time he had done so, but he always had a reason.
“I wanted to see you. Practice was rough.” He mumbled in the crook of your neck. Your heart skipped a beat at his words, how they fell past his lips so easily. Those words made you think that maybe your feelings weren’t so one sided, that there was a chance for you to be even happier than you already were with your best friend.
“You’re going to make me blush.” You teased, downplaying the fact that he really did manage to fluster you. Bowen snorted, squeezing you tightly once more instead of responding to your comment. An easy moment of silence passed, one that wasn’t stifling or awkward and it reminded you once more just how much you enjoyed being around Bowen. Subconsciously, one of your hands threaded through his hair. “I like it when your hair is longer like this.”
Your words were punctuated by a tug on his roots and though he didn’t say anything, he hummed contentedly. You worried that maybe he’d be able to hear the hammering of your heart or he’d know that the smile on your face wasn’t because of your platonic love for him. You feared that he would know—know how much you loved him and know that you had been hiding your feelings for so long. But you couldn’t let yourself think too much about that, you couldn’t let yourself overthink and ruin one of your closest friendships, so you tactfully changed the subject.
“Are we napping or watching my show?” You asked, though you had a pretty good idea what his answer would be.
“Nap, please.” He mumbled, and you could never deny him, especially when he was acting so sleepy and adorable, so you agreed easily. You both shifted your positions slightly, you trying to find the comfiest spot and him climbing under the covers with you, but eventually you both melted into your mattress, Bowen’s head still buried in the crook of your neck.
Bowen tried to stay awake a little longer; to tell you about his morning and the practice he had just come from that had drained his energy completely. But before long, his words were slurring together and when he stopped mid sentence, you knew he had fallen asleep with his arms wrapped around you and your fingers carding through his hair.
You tried to stay up too, to relish in the feeling of being in his arms. But you knew that pretending like it meant something more than it did was only going to break your heart more, so soon after he dozed off you closed your eyes and followed suit.
You were the first one to wake up, a combinatin of Bowen’s weight on you becoming slightly uncomfortable and the need to use the bathroom, so you did your best to climb out from underneath him without waking him. You thought you had made it out clear, but the moment your feet hit the floor Bowen was stirring from behind you.
“Where are you going?” He mumbled, causing you to halt your movements. It was far from the first time you had heard his gravelly voice just after he woke up, but it never failed to make your heart race. You swore you could listen to him talk forever, which was a good thing, since he never seemed to be able to stop talking.
“Bathroom. I’ll be right back.” You told him, finally standing to your feet. When you turned back around, Bowen was already watching you with tired eyes that made your heart clench. God, you were so gone for him.
You slipped out of the room without saying anything more, not trusting yourself to not blurt out just exactly how his smile made you feel. When you returned, he was sitting up against your headboard, your laptop open on his lap as he queued up the episode you had been watching before he arrived.
“New Girl again?” Bowen teased when he spotted you enter the room. You playfully rolled your eyes at him, climbing back into your spot beside him on the bed. You mirrored his position, though you dropped your head against his shoulder.
“It’s a good show. Plus, Jess and Nick’s relationship is my favorite.” You told him decidedly, like you had a dozen times before. The relationship between Jess and Nick truly was somehting you strived for—friends that were always in love with each other, no matter the problems that arised and even when they were broken up they did their best to keep the other happy.
“Fair enough.” He chuckled, shifting slightly so that his arm was around you and he could hold you closer to his side. “What episode are we on?”
“Oregon.” You started, knowing you’d have to catch him up on more than just the episode name. “Jess, Cece, and the guys go to Portland because Jess’ dad is getting married. Jess’ boyfriend, Ryan, was supposed to show up but since he lives in England he said it wouldn’t make sense for him to be there. So, Nick’s trying to make Jess feel better because he secretly loves her and I just need them to get back together.”
“Don’t they end up together though?” Bowen asks, trying to recall as much about the show as he could. It might not have been one of his personal favorites, but he knew you loved it, so that was enough for him to try and follow along.
“Yeah, but they aren’t right now.” You confirm. Before Bowen could ask anymore questions, you pressed play on your laptop and continued where you left off. Jess and the group had just arrived at her childhood home, only to find her mom ready to greet Ryan, who wasn’t there. The scene played on, with Nick telling Jess the hard truth that Ryan bailing wasn’t okay.
You could feel Bowen’s eyes on you as the scene changed to Nick comforting Jess in her room. Giggling at the Jordan Catalano joke, you tried your best to focus on the screen and not the piercing blue eyed gaze that seemed to be studying your face. And, like you always did when you got to this scene, you bit your lip to supress a grin as Nick delivered his next line.
“The only thing that matters is that the guy is there for you when you need him. Otherwise, you’re dating a wall.”
“Are you even paying attention, Bow? That’s like, my favorite line. What I wouldn’t give to have someone love me the way Nick loves Jess.” You sighed, settling further against Bowen as the episode continued on. He didn’t say anything in response, other than a quiet hum, but for the rest of the episode you could practically hear the gears turning inside his head as he turned his attention to the screen.
Netflix automatically continued on to the next episode, but as soon as the intro started Bowen’s hand shot out and paused the show. You looked at him curiously; the two of you usually got through at least a couple of episodes whenever you hung out like you were then.
“You know…” Bowen started, trailing off before he finished his thought. He wasn’t meeting your gaze, and it was clear that what he wanted to say was on the tip of his tongue so you stayed silent while he found his words. “I’m always there for you.”
You felt your heart stop beating and skip three beats all at once. You weren’t sure where he was going with his train of thought, but if you had to guess you would be getting your hopes up. Because there was absolutely no way that he felt the same for you that Nick does for Jess.
“Yeah, you are…” You breathed, trying to get him to meet your gaze but instead he stayed focused on your comforter pulled over both of your laps. The hand that wasn’t around your shoulders was toying with the fabric, and in a bid to calm him down enough to get him to say what he needed you slipped your hand into his. Bowen drew in a steadying breath and finally met your gaze, a dozen and one emotions swirling behind his eyes.
“I love you, you know.” He said firmly, like there was no question about it in the slightest and not the very words you had been dying to hear from him for years. You nodded, unable to form words but not wanting to leave him hanging.
You supposed you did know that he loved you. He showed it in his blatant affection and the frequent texts about how his life was going. He cared for you, there was no doubt about it, but you had never let yourself believe that he meant anything more than friendship. And now he was offereing everything you’d ever wanted on a silver platter.
“Bowen,” You started, but you couldn’t find the words to tell him just how much you loved him back. Instead, you moved the hand that wasn’t wrapped up in his to rest on Bowen’s jaw, turning his head just slightly so that you could press your lips to yours in a long awaited kiss that stole your breath.
Kissing Bowen felt so much better than what you imagined. The angle was a little odd and your neck was craned to face him, but you wouldn’t trade it for the world. You’d share a thousand more awkwardly positioned kisses if it meant you got to be with Bowen.
You were the first to pull away, but you didn’t move far, wide grins on both of your faces as you took in the events of the past few moments. Your friendship was definitely changed, and in place was a relationship that you had been hoping for.
“I love you, too.” You finally mumbled. You wanted to tell him how you had loved him from the moment you met, how he made you fall in love with him with each and every day, but for the moment all that mattered was he knew you loved him just the same as he loved you.
“I hope, or else this is going to be awkward.” He mumbled playfully, leaning in again to close the distance between the two of you. You couldn’t help but chuckle against him, your hand slipping from his jaw to curve around the back of his neck in order to deepen the kiss.
Bowen was the Nick to your Jess, and not a day went by that you weren’t greatful for him.

Starkid Musicals Ranked from Worst to Best
Salutations to you, random people on the internet who most certainly won’t read this. I am an Ordinary Schmuck. I write stories and reviews and draw comics and cartoons.
Welp. I finally did it. I've watched the entire Starkid musical library, and I must say, most of these plays fit my writing style perfectly:
Humor that is cynical yet random
Leaning in with comedy while sprinkling in some well-executed drama
An understanding that any type of story works as long as the cast of varying personalities of characters is dynamic enough to result in some phenomenal chemistry.
This is in almost all of their plays, excelled through fantastic writing and stellar performances driving the overall quality. And it inspired me not only to review each musical, but also ranking them all from worst to best. Or, more accurately, least good to most good. Because even at their "worst," Starkid still provides a funny, enjoyable experience that will keep you laughing with its comedy and your toes tapping with its catchy music. So strap in as I go in-depth into how Starkid proves how they are the masters of humor and melody.
(I'll also provide links to each musical, which is all for free on YouTube, so you can check them out yourselves. Just know that their early work is impossible to enjoy without subtitles, so you might want to have Closed Captions on when watching.)
#12-Holy Musical B@man-Everything about this play makes it seem like it's the weakest to me. The jokes, songs, and characters in Holy Musical B@tman just don't hit as hard as Starkid's other plays. It's still good, but compared to their best, the cracks show a lot more. That is, except for the ending. Not only is there a great speech that shows what makes superheroes so beloved, but "Super Friends" might just be my favorite finale song Starkid has ever put out. Holy Musical B@tman may not be the best, but it's at least worth the time.
#11-Firebringer-This was stupid. Really stupid. Funny as f**k, but still pretty stupid. Although I will give credit to one of the central pairings being LGBTQA+...Even though it makes little to no sense based on the characters' previous interactions. But in fairness, Starkid really sucks at writing good romantic relationships, so at least Firebringer has the benefit of being gay. And as we all know: The gayer, the better. The play is still stupid, though.
#10-Me and My Dick-The world in this musical makes little to no sense. Penises and vaginas are sentient and can communicate with their humans. And yet the penises and vaginas can also talk with each other, form relationships, leave their humans, and reinsert themselves into others--Yeah, it makes no sense...But, DAMN, is it funny! Every joke and innuendo Me and My Dick has about human anatomy works, and I could not stop laughing at each of them. Especially the names that were given to the vaginas, which are just...I mean, I'm laughing just by thinking about them. That should tell you how funny they are. This play might be illogical in every way, but if you turn your brain off and watch it for the humor, you'll definitely be in for something fun.
#9-ANI: A Parody-What's weird about ANI is that its best qualities are also weaknesses. A good chunk of the jokes are hilarious and expertly delivered. The issue is that most of them are about taking potshots at the Star Wars prequels, which might be the laziest jokes to make in a Star Wars parody. Then there's the soundtrack, having several songs that are a bop to listen to. The problem is that ANI suffers from the same issues as Tarzan and Brother Bear: Yes, technically, it is a musical, but it's one where none of the characters sing, and some people in the background do all the singing instead. It's all an odd balancing act of quality content made through questionable choices. ANI is still an entertaining play, but the force isn't as strong with this one.
#8-Black Friday-This might be the least funny play that Starkid has ever put out. Not just because it leans extra hard into drama, which was pretty effective during certain scenes. It's just when there are jokes in Black Friday, they tend to fall flatter more here than they did in other plays. Also, the plot of Black Friday might not be the best one to play straight. The serious moments work best when focusing on the characters and their personal struggles, but through the big bad that's supposed to be threatening? Not so much. Even if it was meant to be funny, well, I wasn't laughing. And believe it or not, I consider that to be the best judge of whether or not something is funny. That being said, while Black Friday isn't the most humorous Starkid musical, it's still pretty good. The characters are excellent, the songs are awesome, and the story is somewhat easy to follow. I would have appreciated a few more laughs, but I can respect these talented people wanting to challenge their strengths.
#7-Starship-This play feels very...Disney. It follows a familiar formula we've seen several times: The main character wants more than what he has in his crappy life, miraculously gets the exact thing he wants, falls in love with a girl in a short amount of time, faces off against a campy/over the top villain, realizes the hand he's been dealt isn't so bad, and in the end, gets what he wants anyway. Starship is still pretty entertaining through its jokes, characters, and songs, but it also feels weird that Starkid leans into these tropes when they would eventually make a much better play by making fun of them. The end result is not bad in the slightest, but it's also nowhere near their best.
#6-A Very Potter Musical-Starkid's first production, and boy, what a start to something wonderful. Every one of their gimmicks and motifs is present in A Very Potter Musical. The use of parody to playfully mock characters and stories they love, making songs that are as funny as they are emotional, and creating characters that work because of their lines and the actors' performances. Oh, and also, it's funny. And it’s not just through a parody angle, like making Cedric be a perfect boy who's always smiling. It's also funny through its jokes that work, even if you ignore the fact that it’s a parody altogether. Case in point, there are these two bits, one involving Voldemort and Beatrix with the other involving Ron and Hermoine, that are written and delivered so well that I was in tears much more than with any other Starkid play. When watching A Very Potter Musical, you'll not only understand how parody works, but you'll also gain an understanding of why Starkid turned out as successful as they did.
#5-The Trail to Oregon-What can I say? I'm a sucker for comedic dysfunctional families. And seeing a family of idiots make their way to Oregon via The Oregon Trail parody? Yeah, that's a win for me. The play may be another family road trip narrative, which some people might get sick of at this point. But because the dynamics and comedic chemistry everyone has with each other are on point, the end result proves that you don't need an original story to tell an entertaining one. Although I will say that out of all of Starkid's productions, The Trail to Oregon has by far the worst ending. Without giving anything away, the play spends way too much time on this one stupid joke that any of the characters could make. Comedy is defined by personalities, as are most things, so making the joke work for anyone is a bad move when this one, in particular, doesn't fit as well for some characters as it would for others. Plus, the finale song "Naked in a Lake" is a really poor choice to cap off this musical. It's catchy, but to me, a finale song should encapsulate everything about the story, characters, and themes. Not paying off a joke that I honestly wouldn't want the payoff for. So while the ending could have used a lot more polish, that doesn't change how The Trail to Oregon is a pretty funny play that I won't mind revisiting when I have the chance.
#4-A Very Potter Sequel-Hey, sometimes a sequel is better than the original. Sure some jokes don't land, and some story beats aren't as impactful as they thought they were (Serious Black's introduction, for example), but there are far more improvements to this play than the last one. The performances are stronger, the jokes are funnier, the music is catchier, and the characters are much more entertaining in this play than in A Very Potter Musical. Especially new additions like Lupin and Lucious Malfoy, who provide great comedy and sublime drama at times. And Umbridge. Sweet Mother of all that is holy, Umbridge. While A Very Potter Sequel never made me laugh to tears as the first play did, twice, Professor Umbridge carries the comedy so well that she surpasses all of that. Plus, on top of it all, this play nails its ending through a bittersweet note that really captures what makes Hogwarts so special to these characters. I always feel like Starkid's plays tend to lose steam during the last few minutes, but A Very Potter Sequel is one of the few instances that it just builds and builds to a perfect ending. A Very Potter Sequel might not always hit the right marks, but the results are just magical when it does get it right.
#3-The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals-This one is pretty clever. The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals is one of those stories that manages to be explicitly hilarious yet implicitly disturbing. For instance, people suddenly bursting into perfectly choreographed musical numbers in a world where songs are exclusively diegetic is pretty funny (especially through the characters' reactions to it). However, knowing what happens to these people and why they sing and dance so expertly helps make the whole situation pretty dire. It's an excellent balancing act that not many stories can accomplish. And while The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals leans one way or the other at times, it's still all handled really well. Oh, and also, you know how most people say the villain song is the best one in any musical? Well, technically speaking, nearly every song in The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals is the villain song. Including the finale, which is just too brilliant for me not to give a round of applause. If you're a person who unfortunately doesn't like musicals either, I'd say be more than willing to give this one a chance. It's funny, catchy, and if you think of the implications, pretty damn disturbing.
#2-A Very Potter Senior Year-...You know how Avengers: Endgame is a bit of a mess, yet people still love it for how much of a perfect (sort of) finale it is? It's the same regard with A Very Potter Senior Year in my eyes. It's far from a masterpiece, but the many, many solid scenes that cap off this series help make me willing to overlook the mistakes. The characters, callbacks, and overall message about how things end was done so expertly well that I physically can’t hate this one. I can understand how it's more of an ok play when compared to the rest of Starkid's productions, but sometimes, ok is wonderful.
#1-Twisted: An Untold Story of a Royal Vizier-...It's Twisted. Everyone loves Twisted! And how could they not? Everything about this play just screams Starkid at their best. The comedy is uproarious, added with the fantastic delivery of the actors and the characters' personalities. Everyone feels as though they have one step in reality and the other in insanity. This, to me, seems like the best type of character work when going for the parody angle. Parody is about giving slight yet snide remarks toward the work you're mocking, which I feel works best when characters drop the suspension of disbelief audiences have when enjoying such a story. And Twisted definitely nails its satire in not only poking fun at Aladdin but also making jokes towards Disney as a brand. From their movies to their inside jokes to their formulas to even their corporate dealings with Pixar, nothing about Disney is sacred in Twisted. But on top of being funny, Twisted might just be the most successful Starkid has been with telling some really compelling drama. The jokes allow themselves to take a back seat to let serious moments play out, and even comedy is added, it provides more for the experience rather than taking anything away. You see this not only through the actors giving it their all but even through some really gorgeous and heart wrenching musical numbers. Oh, and also, Twisted has the best Starkid soundtrack, featuring songs that are epic, funny, and, as I said, heartbreaking. You cannot get better than this and, if you want to get a friend interested in Starkid as a whole, this might be the play for them. Scheherazade may have a thousand tales, but his one is a tale I wouldn't mind hearing for a thousand nights.
And that's about how I feel about Starkid and each and every one of their plays. Odds are your ranking would be much different from mine, and I'm all for that differing opinions. Feel free to make your own ranking if you want because I'm honestly curious where fans would place these plays above or below others. I'm relatively new to enjoying their work, so I have no idea what the consensus is. I do know one thing, though: If Starkid can still be incredibly entertaining through over ten years of content, then I am excited to see what they can accomplish next in another ten years.

DSMP FALLS! <1>
Ah! Summer break! A time for leisure, recreation, and taking her easy.
..Unless you're me.
A pair of triplets crash through a billboard with a go-kart. "AAAAAHHH!" Being followed by a monster of unimaginable horror. "It's getting closer!" One of the triplets cried. My name is Y/N. The boy to the right of me about to puke is my triplet brother, Tubbo, while the boy to my left screaming profanities is my other triplet brother, Tommy. You may be wondering what we're doing in this situation. "Look out!" Tubbo cried. "Agh!" Y/N screamed. "This monster is such a bitch!" Tommy cried. "Tommy!" Tubbo frowned. Rest assured, there's a perfectly logical explanation!
... Let's rewind. It all began when our parents decided we could use some fresh air. They shipped us up to Gravity Falls, Oregon, to stay with our great uncle in the woods. "This attic is amazing! Just look at all of my splinters!" Tubbo cried. "..And there's a fucking goat on my bed." Tommy sighed.
Tubbo walked up to the goat.
"Hey, new friend! Yes, you can keep chewing on my shirt!" Tubbo giggled. Y/N giggled as well. Tubbo and Tommy seemed to look on the bright side of things. I, however, was having a bit of a harder time getting used to our new surroundings. "Boo!" "Aagh!" Y/N jumped up from their spot from under a tree. An old man took off a mask and started laughing. And then there was our great uncle Schlatt. That guy. Our uncle had transformed his house into a tourist trap called the Mystery Shack. The real mystery is why anyone came. And guess who had to work there? Y/N sighed, sweeping the floor. Tubbo reached out to touch something in this gift shop before Schlatt slapped his hand away.
"No touching the merchandise!" He said. Tommy snickered and touched it anyway out of spite. It seemed like it was going to be the same routine all summer, until one fateful day.
"Alright, look alive folks! I need someone to go hang up these signs in the spooky part of the forest." Schlatt said. "Not it!" The triplets said at the same time. "Also not it." Ranboo said. "Nobody asked you, Ranboo." Schlatt said. "I know and I'm comfortable with that." Ranboo smiled. "Niki! I need you to put up these signs!" Schaltt said. "I would.. but I can't.. reach." She trailed off. "I'd fire all of you if I could." Schlatt sighed. "Okay, let's make it eeny, meeny, miny, you." Schlatt pointed at Y/N. "Yes!" Tommy and Tubbo exclaimed. "Awe what? Gruncle Schlatt, whenever I'm in those woods I feel like I'm being watched." Y/N said. "Oh, this again." He rolled his eyes. "I'm serious, something weird is going on! Just today, my mosquito bites spelled out beware!" Y/N said, showing schlatt their arm. "...That says bewarb." Schlatt said. "Look kid, the whole monsters in the forest thing is just a local legend. Drummed up by guys like me to sell merch to guys like that." Schlatt pointed at a guy distracted by a schlatt bobblehead. "So quit being so paranoid!" Schlatt said. ... "Ugh, Gruncle Schlatt. nobody ever believes what I say." Y/N groaned as they hammer signs in the forest. They hammer another tree but stop when they hear metal. "huh?" They hit it the hammer again in curiosity. Finding a secret door with a machine inside, they mess with the buttons for a bit before something opens up behind them. "What the.." Reaching into the hole, they find a dusty old journal. They brush it off and start reading. "Woah.. trust no one, huh?" Y/N mumbled. "Hello!" Tubbo exclaimed. "What are you reading, some nerd book?" Tommy asked. "Uh-uh, it's nothing!" Y/N exclaimed. "Uh-UH IT'S NOTHING!" Tommy mocked. "What, are you seriously not gonna show us?" Tubbo asked. "..Let's go somewhere more private," Y/N said. ... "It's amazing! Gruncle Schlatt said I was being paranoid, but apparently, Gravity Falls has this secret dark side!" Y/N exclaimed. "WOAH!" Tubbo exclaimed. "SHUT UP!" Tommy pushed Y/N with a grin on his face. "Get this! After a certain point, the pages just stop! Like the guy who was writing it mysteriously disappeared!" Y/N exclaimed.
The doorbell rang. "Who's that?" Y/N asked. "Welp, time to spill the beans! This guy's got a platonic date!" Tubbo grinned. "Platonic??" "Date??" Schlatt walked in as Tubbo came back in with someone. "Hey family, I want you to meet my new platonic boyfriend!" Tubbo exclaimed. "Sup." He said. "Hey." Y/N and Tommy said. "How's it hanging?" Schlatt finger gunned. "We met at the cemetery. He's really deep." Tubbo smiled. "..What's your name?" Y/N asked. "Normal.. Man!" He groaned out. "He means Norman." Tubbo giggled. "..Are you bleeding, Norman?" Tommy asked. "..It's jam." Norman said. Y/N stared at him in suspicion before Tubbo dragged Norman away. There was something with Norman that wasn't right. I decided to consult the journal. Y/N read the journal out loud. "Known for their pale skin and bad attitudes.. these creatures are often mistaken for.. TEENAGERS?!" Y/N exclaimed. "Beware Gravity Falls' nefarious ZOMBIES?!" Y/N gasped. "Zombies??" Tommy gasped. He was sitting there with Y/N. "Tommy, outside!" Y/N exclaimed. "Oh, no! Tubbo!" They both yelled. Norman lurched towards Tubbo, grabbed him, and put a flower crown on him. "Daisies?? You scallywag!" Tubbo gushed. "Is our brother dating a zombie or are we just going nuts?" Tommy muttered. "It's a dillema to be sure." Charlie said. "Agh!" Y/N jumped. "I couldn't help but overhear you guys talking to yourselves in this empty room." Charlie explained. "Charlie, you've seen Tubbo's platonic date, right? He's got to be zombie!" Y/N said. "Hm.. how many brains did you see the guy eat?" Charlie asked. "Zero.." Y/N sighed. "Look, dudes, I believe you. I'm seeing strange thing in this town all the time. Like, the mailman, I'm pretty sure that guy's a werewolf. But! You gotta have proof, or else people will think you're a major cukoo clock." Charlie said. "As always, big C, you're right." Tommy said. "My wisdom is both a wisdom and a curse." Charlie said. "Charlie! The toilets are clogged again!" Schlatt called out. "I am needed elsewhere." Charlie took off. Y/N and Tommy decided to work together to get some evidence. Throughout their studies, Norman certainly had strange behavior, but not enough to convict him of anything supernatural. "I'll talk to Tubbo, don't worry, sib!" Tommy said. "Alright." Y/N nodded. ... Tommy walked into the triplets' shared room. "Tubbo, we've got to talk about Norman." Tommy said. "I know! Isn't he great?? Look at this smooch mark he gave me!" Tubbo turned his head to show a large red area on his face. "Egh!" Tommy cried. "Hah! Gullible. It was just an accident with the leafblower. That was fun." Tubbo laughed. "No, listen, Tubbo! I'm trying to tell you that Norman is not what he seems! The journal that Y/N found!" Tommy insisted. "You think he might be a vampire?? That would be awesome!" Tubbo gasped. "Guess again, big T! A zombie he is!" Tommy said. "A zombie?? Not funny, Tommy!" Tubbo frowned. "I'm not joking! Y/N can agree, it all adds up! The bleeding, the limp, he never blinks! Have you noticed that??" Tommy exclaimed. "Maybe he's blinking when you're blinking." Tubbo suggested. "HE'S GOING TO EAT YOUR BRAINS, BIG T!" Tommy shook Tubbo. "Tommy! Listen to me. Norman and I are going on a date tonight and I'm going to be adorable! He's going to be dreamy! And I'm not going to let you and Y/N ruin it with another one of your crazy conspirices!" Tubbo kicked Tommy out. "Ah man.. what am I gonna do??" Tommy slumped against the door. Someone sat down next to him. "How'd it go, bro-bro?" Y/N asked. "He's refusing to listen.. He kicked me out." Tommy sighed. Y/N frowned. "Not surprising. Hopefully he'll come to that realization in his own." ... The two out of three triplets were sitting on the couch, looking over the footage. "I guess we don't have any actual evidence, huh?" Y/N sighed. "Yeah.. I guess we can be kinda paranoid sometimes-" Tommy stopped. In the footage clip, Norman's hand fell off and he put it back on. "WAIT WHAT?!" Tommy and Y/N exclaimed. They leaped off
the
couch in a hurry. "WE WERE RIGHT! HOLY SHIT!" Tommy exclaimed. Racing outside, the two tried to find their uncle. "GRUNCLE SCHLATT! GRUNCLE SCHLATT!" Y/N called out. Schlatt wasn't paying attention.
"Wait! Niki has the cart!" Tommy suggested. "Good eye, Tommy!" Y/N grinned. "Niki! Niki! We need the cart to save our brother from a zombie!" They ran up to her. "Try not to hit any pedestrains." She winked, giving them the keys. "Alright, Tommy! Let's go save our sister!" Y/N grinned. They backed up before Charlie stopped them. "Dudes! This is for the zombies." He handed them a shovel. "Thanks." Y/N grinned, "This is in case you see a pinata." He handed them a bat. "..Thanks?" Tommy said. "Better safe than sorry!" He called out. Tommy and Y/N sped off to find their brother. They heard screams and drove to the direction of the sound. "LET'S GO!" Y/N exclaimed. "Get his arm there, Steve!" Tubbo was struggling against several gnomes. "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON HERE?!" Tommy exclaimed. "Tommy! Y/N! Norman turned out to be a bunch of gnomes! And they're total assholes!" Tubbo cried.
"Gnomes..? We were way off." Tommy mumbled. Y/N flipped open the journal. "Damn.. no weaknesses." They sighed. "Hey! Hey! Let go of my brother!" Y/N demanded. "This is all one big misunderstanding. Your brothers not in any danger! He's just marrying all one thousand of us and becoming our king for all of eternity!" The lead gnome explained. "Give him back right now, or else, prick!" Tommy demanded. "You think you can stop us, child? You have no idea what we're capable of!" The gnome went on a tangent before Tommy scooped him up with the shovel and tossed him to the side. Y/N used that chance to free Tubbo, dragging him back to the kart with Tommy. "GO GO GO!" Tubbo exclaimed. "I wouldn't worry about it. See their little fucking legs? Those pricks are tiny." Tommy smirked. Tommy stopped when they heard the noises of a creature. A giant gnome creature, to be exact. "Damn." Tubbo said. "MOVE! GO GO GO!" Y/N screeched. The giant creature chased them through the forest. Gnomes launched onto the kart. "Agh!" Tubbo exclaimed. "GET OFF MY FACE!" Y/N cried. "I got you, sib!" Tubbo punched the gnome, while also accidentally punching Y/N several times before the gnome let go, revealing new bruises on Y/N's face. "..Thanks bro.." They winced. "Look out!" Tubbo cried. They crashed into the back of the Mystery Shack. They were officially cornered. The triplets hugged each other in terror. "W-where's Gruncle Schlatt??" Y/N asked. "It's the end of the line, kids! Tubbo, marry us before we do something crazy!" The lead gnome ordered. "There's gotta be a fucking way out of this.." Tommy muttered. "I gotta do it." Tubbo decided. "What?!" The other two triplets exclaimed. "Tubbo, are you crazy?!" Y/N asked. "Trust me." Tubbo said. "..What??" Tommy gasped. "Trust me, just this once, guys." Tubbo said. The two hesitated and then nodded. "Alright, Jeff. I'll marry you." Tubbo stepped forward. "Hot dog!" The lead gnome climbed down to Tubbo. "You may now kiss the groom." Tubbo said after the lead gnome put a ring on his finger. "Well, I don't if I do!" The lead gnome grinned, puckering up. Tubbo took that chance to hit him with the leafblower that was left outside. "Agh!" The gnome screamed. "That's for lying to me! That's the breaking my heart! And that's for messing with my siblings!" Tubbo shot the gnome off into the forest and the rest of the gnomes scattered away. As the triplets walked back into the Mystery Shack, Tubbo stopped them. "Hey, Y/N, Tommy, I'm sorry. You two were really just trying to look out for me." Tubbo sighed. "Oh, don't be like that! You saved our asses back there!" Tommy smiled. "I guess I'm just sad that Norman turned out to be a bunch of gnomes." Tubbo sighed. "Hey, look on the bright side! Maybe the next one will be a vampire." Y/N giggled. "You're just saying that." Tubbo giggled, punching their shoulder. "..Awkward triplet hug?" Y/N suggested. "Awkward triplet hug." Tommy and Tubbo said together, the three of them in a hug. ... "Yeesh, you three get hit by a bus or something? Hahah!" Schlatt laughed. The triplets ignored him. "Hey, um,, I accidentally overstocked some items, why don't you three take something?" Schlatt said. "What's the catch?" Y/N raised an eyebrow. "The catch is do it before I change my mind, now go!" Schlatt said. The triplets grinned at each other. Tubbo picked out a grappling hook, Tommy picked out a music disc, and Y/N picked out a a hat with a bat symbol on it. ... This journal told me that there was no one you could trust. But when you go up against an army of gnomes with side by side with two people, you realize they probably got their back. "Tubbo, can you get the light?" Y/N asked. "You got it, sib!" Tubbo shot the grappling hook at the light. "Oh, for fuck's sake!" Tommy rolled his eyes. Tubbo and Y/N giggled. Our uncle told us there was nothing strange about this town, but who knows what other secrets are waiting to be unlocked? -------
