Tell me, please, how'd your conversation with Mr. Faustina go? I wanna know!
Tbh we mostly talked on the personal field cuz i introduced myself as french (if y'all didn't know i'm born and raised in France) and the fact i came all my way from France to Germany to see him shocked and impressed him so much! (but i needed him to know he's worth the trip 😌)
Then he proceeded to tell me so much about family stuff cuz his wife is half french and told me how bad he's at french and I was like "c'mon man 🙄" lmao but yeah i'll keep that part for myself not going into details
But on tlok, we obviously told him how much we loved Mako and Makorra and he was genuinely happy to see people still appreciating makorra like he does he even told us how he expected Korra and Mako to end up together after finishing voicing Book 4 🥲 (br*ke you have blood on your hands..)
So I told him even as a new fan (i only watched tlok back in 2020 so yeah my experience was WAY different as y'all og fans) I still appreciated his work as Mako, and as someone who have both Korra and Mako as her favourite characters I genuinely loved their relationship through the show despite the popularity of that other ship (mind you I literally told him that last sentence lmao) It felt so important to me to told him that with "baby" fan pov
Also he told us we should meet Janet one day! and told us an anecdote about Seychelle also said he would like to do see back Bolin's va but apparently it's been awhile he didn't went to any events 🥸
Then we gifted him our Makorra art and he was so happy seeing it, he immediately told us he gonna hang it on a wall in his house then went to store it cuz he was afraid to broke the frame or sum 😭😭
Then before leaving told him "the Makorra Nation was still alive and going well" and he was so grateful and hyped by it!

Fake freckles (Bkdk, humor, 700words)
Katsuki held up the tape barrier and Izuku, his hand on his aching hip, slipped underneath with difficulty, panting: "Thanks, Kacchan."
The blonde let the tape snap back without a word, the unmistakable sign for the reporters to storm the scene. They watch as they come, and Katsuki squares his shoulders in resignation.
"I hate this part."
Izuku quickly limps in front of him, a filter for both parties, and looks reassuringly over his shoulder into a dirty, grumpy face, "You did great. Don't worry."
"Hero Deku," the first round of questioning begins, "how long does it take to repaint your freckles every time?"
Izuku actually gasps in surprise at this, and the reporter leans further over the barrier, "What product do you use? I'm Mako, from the beauty channel-"
"Fuckin' what?" Kacchan's deep, scratchy voice asks from behind him and Izuku lets out a small, disbelieving laugh, fighting sudden goosebumps.
"Sorry," he apologizes immediately, "but I don't-"
"You think those are fake freckles?"
"Kacchan-"
"Are you guys fuckin' stupid?"
The reporter swings the microphone up while Katsuki crouches over Izuku like a shadow, "Have your shitty eyes checked, you-"
The reporter has no objection at all to changing the subject to the blonde in order to stop his impending barrage of insults.
"Hero Dynamight, you too are often seen with freckles in the summer-"
Literally smelling the nitro, Izuku jumped in, "Kacchan doesn't have any - ugh, it's mostly ash that sticks to his sweat-"
"Deku used to have freckles when every motherfucker and their aunt out there called them ugly," the blonde cut him off and Izuku pursed his lips a little embarrassed, "he has freckles on his elbow, behind his knees and on his goddamn ass."
"Kacchan-"
"How the hell is he supposed to paint there? Huh?"
Izuku rubbed the bridge of his nose and looks apologetically into the camera, but Katsuki wasn't done yet.
"You think he's got nothing better to do than get his ass fake-freckled after a fight?"
"Oh my god," Izuku breathed, subtly tugging at one of Kacchan's gauntlets, "I think that's enough. No one even remotely thought about my butt-"
But Katsuki had wriggled out of his grip and pulled out his cell phone. To Izuku's growing horror, he opened a rather green album and almost stuffed the phone into the reporter's mouth.
"Eight years ago, see? Four of them, right under his eye."
Izuku had never seen anyone flip through an album so violently. All cameras zoomed in on Kacchan's fingers, which aggressively zoomed in on his cheeks frame by frame.
He tries again, "Kacchan-"
"Fuck off, Deku."
Then he takes a deep breath and crosses his arms over his chest.
"Six years ago, four years – last year! Look, you dump jackass."
The whispering grew louder and Izuku bit his lips, mentally playing bingo as to what the headlines would be tomorrow. His ears burned. His face was warm.
"Seen enough?"
The crowd backed away as Kacchan reared up to his full height, and Izuku was too slow to slap away the hand that gripped his collar tightly. With shameful ease, he was lifted from his feet and held up to the camera like a plushy.
"Kacchan-"
"Four here," he turned his wrist until Izuku's other cheek was almost stuck to the camera lens, "and four here. Amateurs y'all, shit."
Izuku pinched Katsuki's hand until the grip on his collar loosened and he found himself safely on his feet a second later. He was flushed from his knees up to his ears by now.
With what was left of his dignity, he tried to bow, thank the civilians for their support, and turn away - but he only managed the first as he was dragged away by the collar again. A storm of flashbulbs exploded behind them, the shouts drowning each other out. The reporters were ecstatic.
"Fake freckles," Kacchan hissed beside him, his little finger crackling with murderous intent, "I've never heard such a load of shit before."
They turn the corner and Izuku side-eyes his best friend.
"You've got a soft spot for my freckles," he concluded with a tiny grin.
Katsuki punched him hard in the upper arm.
"Ow-"
"Shut the fuck up."

Author: So... as y'all may have noticed, writer's block hit me pretty bad. I have some awesome prompts waiting, but inspiration has yet to strike to give them the attention they deserve.
Of course, what does come to me is the story below. I'm sorry (both to you, and to Bolin for what he is about to go through) in advance but hey, I don't get to decide how the slump passes.
Enjoy...?
_________________________________________
Imagine Bolin wanting to take a trip to meet new people. Bolin had such a great time meeting his family in Ba Sing Se (even with all of that "overthrowing the system" going on at that time) he decided to take a trip back. The rest of the Krew had other obligations but Bolin didn't mind, he made friends easily enough. So Mako offered to take care of Pabu while Bolin was away, but Bolin knew it was really going to be Pabu that was watching out for Mako.
Bolin packed light, something he learned from living on the streets, but it helped to not have to worry so much about wrangling his belongings while he explored the unfamiliar city by keeping everything in a backpack. Bolin bought a train ticket and he was on his way!
Bolin liked walking around the train and looking out of the windows during the ride. He even made some new friends!
"Hey, we're going to be at the back of the train when we get into the city. Being there when we pass through the wall has a great view!" one of Bolin's new friend had told him.
"I didn't even think about that," Bolin replied, "I bet that is super cool!"
As the train got close to the city, Bolin joined the group in going to the back of the train, they passed through a tunnel and instantly Bolin could see the city around him.
"This is the funniest part."
Before Bolin could turn around to see what everyone was talking about, Bolin was pushed out of the back of the train. As he tumbled down the side of the tracks, Bolin heard laughing from his fake friends, and then heard his backpack tear as his stuff was thrown about.
By the time Bolin had finished rolling down, he could see the train was little more than a distant speck on the tracks. Bolin's limbs were in too much pain to even think about trying to follow the train.
On top of that, Bolin could do little more than short inhales to catch his breath after having the wind knocked out of him. Each desperate breath he could take was filled with dust, drying out his throat. Finally, Bolin was able to take a deep enough breath to cough out at least some of the dust that had been choking him.
Bolin's next task was to try to force his limbs under him so he could get up and gather up his stuff. Wincing through the pain, Bolin managed to sit himself up and look at the situation he was in. His belongings were tattered and strewn about. Bolin reached back to grab his backpack, but it was basically shredded. Bolin stayed sitting, seeing no use in grabbing any of his things.
Accepting his defeat, Bolin managed to get himself on his feet. Bolin saw no choice, but to limp along the tracks towards Ba Sing Se.
Bolin could not understand how he got in this situation, he could make friends with anyone. Even when kidnapped, Bolin managed to get along with his captors. But this time, Bolin somehow made his new friends turn against him. That clearly was not the case, but Bolin's mind had convinced him it was his fault.
Bolin's battered legs were able to carry him to the outskirts of the city, to some shanty towns. Bolin tried not to bother any of the small houses made out of garbage. The dwellers did little more to acknowledge him than look out of the corners of their eyes before going back to their business.
Bolin looked around to see if anyone could help him, but seeing the state of the people around him, they were barely able to get by, themselves. Bolin felt terrible, these were the people he usually helped, but now he was lost, injured, and unable to do anything to make the world around him any better.
Bolin was at least able to see the city, but could not find a way in. At this point, the tracks had raised into a bridge to an elevated entrance. There was no way Bolin was in any state to make the climb, or to go all the way back to before the track began to elevate. Even if he could make it onto the track, he would not be able to get out of the way of any oncoming trains in his condition.
The sun was setting, Bolin knew he would not be able to make it into the city tonight. He was so desperate to be in a familiar setting, surrounded by family he knew he could trust, but his limbs were too stiff and painful to make any more progress.
Bolin accepted his situation for the night, and tried to find a corner where he would at least be out of the way of the people that lived this every night.
Bolin found a cold corner by a support beam of the train tracks and a rock big enough to lean against. In between the pains and twinges shooting through his muscles, Bolin was able to slowly endure the torture until he could lie in a position that hurt the least.
The only thing Bolin found that was positive about this situation was that none of his friends or family were in this horrible situation with him, and especially that Pabu was safe at home. When the chills of the night were worse than the pain, Bolin slowly curled up to try to preserve any warmth, but it hardly changed anything.
Bolin hoped to himself that tomorrow he would reach his destination, but for now, Bolin curled up, cold and alone, and tried to shiver as quietly as possible to not disturb any of the people that lived around him, since he had no other way to help anyone.

Fan fiction dork is back again. This is long.
"No!"
The flat refusal made Aerith pull a face and roll her eyes. "Such a mood." She turned towards Tifa, stationed over by the grill and asked, "How do you put up with him?"
Tifa glanced up, a questioning look on her face. "Huh?" Her gaze went from Aerith to Cloud, who had his arms folded and was staring at her like he expected back up. She shrugged one shoulder and went back to staring at the burgers sizzling away. "He's got his charm," she replied in a light voice.
When Aerith glanced at Cloud she caught the tail end of a smug smile. "You're so easily pleased when you wanna be," she teased, poking his bicep.
Cloud leaned away and scowled. "Is there a reason you're here?"
Aerith's eyes widened. "Wow, rude." She looked around the new Seventh Heaven and smiled. The people of sector seven really loved Tifa. They rebuilt the whole bar by the time the group returned to Midgar. Even better, they added a daytime cafe where Aerith could help out and spend time with her bestie. "I'm here to collect on a date," she said with an evil grin.
Cloud choked and turned to look at Tifa. "What!?"
Aerith would've bet all the flowers in her garden that he was hoping she hadn't heard that. Letting him hang in suspense for a moment longer than she had to, she finally put Cloud out of his misery by saying, "Tifa and I have a date in sector eight later." She was evilly amused at the sigh of relief from him. Leaning closer and ignoring how he moved away, she added, "Did you forget I have a boyfriend? Zack doesn't like you enough to share." She giggled when she spotted Cloud's face turning red.
"Quit it!" He got up and went to sit at the counter.
He's such a kid. Aerith shook her head and smiled fondly at his back.
Tifa looked over her shoulder and smiled at him. "You okay?"
"I've been better," he replied, shooting Aerith a dirty look.
Tifa sighed. "Can I trust you two to play nice while I call everyone in?"
"Tifa--!" Cloud pouted.
"Sure thing!" Aerith waved Tifa's concerns away.
"Great. Be right back." With a friendly nod, Tifa swiftly plated the food, set it on the counter ready for pick up, and came through the swing door. On her way out, she paused beside Cloud and laid her hand on his back. "Be nice," she whispered in his ear in a teasing tone.
"I'm doing my best," he replied, a small smile appearing and disappearing like lightning. With Tifa so near, Cloud took the chance to sneak a swift kiss on her cheek, leaving her blushing and biting her lip.
"Be right back," she repeated in a soft voice, before jogging out of the bar.
Aerith clasped her hands together. "You two are so adorable!"
Cloud pulled a face and rolled his eyes.
"I told you she was someone special," she went on.
"You want a medal?" he asked, half joking.
"You got a medal?"
"Nope." He got up and started moving plates to a long table set up that morning.
Aerith watched him move with methodical precision. Even a casual black t-shirt and blue shorts couldn't hide his natural grace. Nothing Cloud did was without purpose. He used words sparingly before he was himself again, but Aerith half-expected him to become more chatty afterwards. She hadn't realised Cloud was Cloud, just a little less moody, more obviously kinder and even more stupidly in love with Tifa. She supposed that kindness was the reason she and Zack survived in the end, despite what she did to fate. She wanted him to live so badly, she defied the will of the planet. But, as she said to Cloud that night in her dream, everyone dies eventually. Whether she and Zack have years, months, weeks, days or less together before that happens, they still have so many moments more than what they did before. She was more happy now than she can remember being in her entire life. She has a life and can laugh with the people she loves. She has friends and Zack. She has Cloud and everyone else to thank for it. Tears gathered in her eyes and she swiftly brushed them away.
Not swiftly enough.
"You good?" Cloud paused between the bar and table.
Aerith gave him a bright smile. "Sure am!"
He raised a doubtful eyebrow, but didn't pry further.
Aerith ducked her head and laughed to herself. Cloud never cared enough about her to want to dig deeper. And she never trusted him enough to want to share. Not like Zack. That was who she'd been so desperate to see in him when they first met, but it was all too obvious she was deluding herself when the way he acted wasn't anything like Zack. Not deep down, anyway. A few similar poses, a uniform and mako infused eyes didn't turn Cloud into her one true love. She flushed with guilt and shame thinking about the way she acted. Did I ever apologise for that? "You know, Cloud," she began, finding she couldn't look at him.
"Yeah, I know Cloud," he said, stopping a foot away from her and crossing his arms.
When Aerith looked up she saw a friendly smile on his face. She laughed and shook her head. "I'm sorry."
Cloud frowned. "For what?"
"For not being all that nice to you when we first met." She pulled on her bangs, using the physical pain as a focus. "I was...trying to make you someone you weren't. Someone you could never be."
"S'alright," he replied, shrugging it off. "I was, too."
Aerith looked at him then and nodded. "Yeah, I guess you were." She laughed. They both missed Zack so much they fooled themselves. But now they didn't need to because he was here. Alive. With them.
Cloud nodded. "So, we good?" He turned to grab the last of the plates.
Aerith felt lighter. "Yeah. We're good."
"I spy an angel." Zack greeted Aerith with a broad smile as he entered the bar, using the shirt he held to wipe his sweaty face. "You should have joined us, Cloud. Barret kicked the ball at Red, so he burst it with his tail!" He laughed and shook his head.
"Maybe later," Cloud replied, shrugging. Exercising in hot weather reminded him of pointless drills Heidigger made the grunts do until they dropped.
"What? Not a fan of team sports?" Zack headed straight for Aerith and squatted a little. He tapped a finger to his cheek and said, "To the victor goes the spoils."
Aerith laughed and put her hands on her hips. "Oh, I'm a prize now, am I?"
He turned his head to meet her eyes. "Absolutely, yes."
Cloud snorted and turned his back on them, muttering, "Weirdos."
Aerith giggled and playfully pushed Zack. "Oh, you!" As Zack rocked backwards Aerith grabbed his hand and pulled him to her. She wrapped both arms around his waist and hugged him tight. "Ew, you're all sweaty."
"Ah, sorry," he said, stroking her hair. "It's really hot out today. You guys made the smart choice staying inside." He tried to untangle her from him, but she held on tighter.
"It's okay," she buried her face against his bare chest, "I don't mind."
Zack kissed the top of her head.
Tifa re-entered the bar, followed by Barret, who had Marlene on his shoulder, Red, Yuffie, Cid, Vincent, Biggs and Wedge, who carried Cait Sith. "Great, everyone's getting along," she said, smiling at Cloud.
"You were only gone five minutes," he replied, a smile tweaking one corner of his mouth up. "How much trouble do you think I can get into?"
She leaned forward and smiled. "Lots."
Barret let out a gut busting laugh. "She's gotcha there!" He jiggled Marlene until she giggled. "Right, baby?"
"Uh huh, yeah!" Marlene nodded and wagged a finger at Cloud. "You're trouble, so you gotta let Tifa look after you!"
Cloud nodded, a serious look on his face. "Yes, ma'am."
Marlene giggled and Tifa smiled.
"Why's this boy such a goddamn fool, would someone tell me that?" Cid barged past everyone and took a seat at the table. "Well, we eatin' or not?" He slapped a hand on the tabletop.
Tifa looked flustered for a moment, then saw the food laid out ready.
"Maybe if the rest of you losers get to the table!" Yuffie mocked from her seat.
Zack's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "When did she--?" He stepped back from Aerith and put his shirt on, much to her disappointment.
"Ninja!" Yuffie gave him a finger gun salute and winked.
"Okay, everyone, let's sit down and eat before the food gets cold." Tifa urged with a cheerful smile.
"You know I don't need to eat," Vincent muttered, though he sat anyway.
"I appreciate the adaptation," Red said, perching on a footstool.
"You guys are family, and family eats together," Marlene said, wagging a finger at them both.
"You heard her, and nobody argues with Marlene," Biggs said, taking a seat beside her.
"I'm starving! If Vinny doesn't wanna eat I'll have his!" Wedge gave Vincent a huge smile.
"That's not my--"
"He'll still do it," Cloud said, interrupting him.
"Aww, thanks for sticking up for me, bro." Wedge targeted Cloud with an even larger smile.
Cloud gestured at him and said, "See?"
Vincent snorted, but pushed his plate over to Wedge.
"Okay, who wants drinks?" Tifa moved to stand behind the bar and grabbed a cocktail shaker.
"Ooh, can you teach me how to make something?" Aerith bounced up from beside Zack and darted over to Tifa.
"Uh, sure, I guess." Tifa smiled and nodded. "What do you want to drink?"
"Can you make a pink one?" Zack asked, turning in his seat and resting his forearm on the back.
"Pink isn't a flavour," Cloud joked, also turning around. His gaze locked with Tifa's. "Something sweet?"
"Oh, how about grapefruit!?" Aerith bounced on her toes.
Tifa looked at Aerith and tipped her head to one side. "But...that's not sweet?"
"I didn't ask for sweet, he did." She grinned and jabbed a thumb over her shoulder towards Cloud.
"Aerith likes drinks with a kick." Zack frowned thoughtfully. "Pineapple?"
Aerith clapped her hands together. "Yes!" She half turned and blew Zack a kiss. "You know me so well."
Zack looked stupidly pleased at her praise.
"Can y'all hurry it up. Feels like you're taking forever for just one drink." Barret gestured as he spoke. "People dyin' of thirst over here."
"Ah, sorry!" Tifa ducked her head.
Cloud got up. "I'll give you a hand." As he walked towards the swing door separating the front of the bar from the back, he said over his shoulder, "Beer good for everybody?" It's what they'd get even if they said no. A round of murmurs had him nodding.
"And juice for the kids," Cid added. "Two cups."
"Hey! I'm not a kid!" Yuffie huffed and crossed her arms.
"You're pouting like one." Biggs reached across the table to poke her cheek. "You look twelve."
Yuffie leaned back and stuck her tongue out at him.
Biggs chuckled. "And now you look like a ten year old."
As those around the table laughed, bickered and joked, Cloud moved around them and placed drinks within reach. He then went back to the bar, where Tifa, Aerith and Zack were still discussing cocktail combinations that included a bunch of fruit he'd never heard of. He felt like he couldn't contribute, so sat and watched Tifa. A slap on the back jolted him from his thoughts and he automatically scowled at the culprit.
"Woah, what'd I ever do to you?" Zack acted hurt, then chuckled. "Looks like you had something important on your mind," he said in a low voice. "Wanna talk?"
Cloud grimaced and half-turned away from the girls, just in case Tifa overheard. "Not really."
Zack put his hands on his hips and laughed. "You know, for a minute there I thought you changed, but I guess you'll always be the same Cloud." He ruffled Cloud's hair until Cloud slapped his hand away.
"Cut it out. It's not like that," he said, glancing at Tifa again.
"What?" Zack laid a hand on Cloud's shoulder. "Trouble in paradise?" He put on his best confidant expression. "Need some dating advice?"
Cloud shook his head and replied in a low voice, "It's been three months since, you know..."
"Sephiroth found his promised land, Jenova dissolved and we won it all?" Zack said this in a light tone, but tears still gathered at the corner of his eyes. The Sephiroth he knew wasn't the one Cloud hated for so long. He couldn't feel victorious about losing a good friend. Though that friend seemed lost for a long time, at the very end Sephiroth smiled like the man Zack remembered. He found himself again, and peace. Angeal and Genesis better be looking out for you over there. He blinked away the tears and focused on Cloud. "Yeah, so...?"
Cloud drew in a deep breath and let it out. "So, how long is long enough?"
Zack frowned. "For what?" He tried not to think too far ahead. Aerith already explained the planet could take them both back at any time, so he lived from moment to moment, never taking anything for granted. He had a home in sector five with Aerith and Elmyra, friends, his life and the freedom to choose what he wanted to do with the time he had. He was overflowing with gratitude and good cheer. And he'd promised some of that time would be spent helping Cloud not be such an insecure dork around the love of his life. Three months of dating and he still thinks she isn't as crazy about him as he is her. Zack wished Cloud could see the look on Tifa's face whenever he wasn't paying attention to her, scant as those moments were. It made Zack feel like a voyeur, and Aerith laughed hysterically when he said it because she felt the same.
Cloud sighed again. "Forget it."
"Has anyone ever told you that you think too much?" He patted Cloud on the back.
"No, Aerith, wait, the lid isn't--!"
Too late. Aerith turned the blender on and pink liquid sprayed up in an impressive geiser, tossing lumps of fruit in its wake.
"Tifa!" Cloud vaulted the bar and tried to get her out of the way.
Tifa cringed and tried to duck, but somehow both ended up covered, despite Cloud blocking the worst of it.
"Oops!" Aerith put her hands up and shrugged. Despite being the one to turn the blender on, she didn't have a speck of drink on her pink top or white skirt. She shot Zack a split second wink and he smothered a laugh.
"That's one way to help," he said to her in a low voice.
Cloud scowled to himself, then looked at Tifa. "You okay?"
She tried not to smile at how the juice flattened his hair. Reaching slowly, she picked a piece of pineapple clinging to his cheek and put it on the side. "Yeah, thanks."
Cloud stared into her eyes until they were all he could see. "Tifa, I--"
"You guys okay?" Wedge half rose from his seat before Barret and Biggs shoved him back down.
"Dummy!" Cait Sith hopped onto the table and hit him with its megaphone.
"Ow! Hey, what did I do!?" The ow was for show, Wedge had an indestructible body thanks to Hojo's "helpful" interference after he fell from the Shinra building. He was lucky to be more than a splat on the sidewalk, but that didn't make him grateful to the monster who made him.
"Gonna need to go wash up," Barret said to Tifa and Cloud. "Don't worry about us, we'll be fine by ourselves for a bit."
"Yeah," Aerith added, circling around them both and pushing them towards the stairs. "Better get that out of your hair before you have to cut it off."
Tifa drew in a sharp breath. "Right." She stopped and looked at the mess behind them. "What about--?"
"Don't worry about the bar."
"We got this!"
Zack and Biggs gave her a thumbs up.
Tifa looked at Cloud, who looked bemused. "Uh, okay, I guess. We'll be right back."
"Take your time!" Yuffie and Aerith said in unison. They looked at each other and giggled.
"What are they laughing about?" Cloud crossed his arms and tried not to drip too much as he and Tifa stood in the hallway outside the bathroom. He tried not to assume it was him, but old habits died hard.
"Hmm? I'm not sure." Tifa shrugged. She knew exactly what they were laughing at, but she didn't want to say and risk her face looking like a tomato. "Do you want to go first or should I?"
"You go, I'll wait out here."
Though they'd spent the night together before the final battle, they hadn't actually repeated it since. Maybe neither of them expected to survive, so if one night was all they got they'd make the most of it. But, they had won. They saved the planet and everyone got to go home. Together. Cloud kept up his merc work alongside Zack. The pair were almost too popular, and Cloud regularly finished his day emptying his pockets of scrap paper that had hastily written phone numbers scrawled on them. He pushed the pile across the bar and Tifa had the bin already waiting on her side. He always finished up by asking her to go somewhere with him.
Dates were fun and had no theme. Just the two of them wandering Midgar or going out on his custom bike the seller named Fenrir and Cloud developed a habit of treating like a treasured pet. The guy got a lifetime supply of food and drink from Seventh Heaven in exchange when gil alone wouldn't persuade him to sell. Tifa couldn't refuse when she saw the look of longing on Cloud's face. He had so little joy in his life until recently, there was no way she'd be responsible for taking any of it away.
The first time Cloud took her out on Fenrir, showing off and doing insane moves, it made her heart race with excitement. She locked her arms around his waist and laid her cheek against his back. She trusted him to keep her safe. She whooped and laughed, which encouraged him to show off even more. It was fun. When he eventually pulled up on a ridge overlooking Midgar, Tifa swung herself round to sit facing him. The look of adorable, wide eyed surprise made her beam. This was the Cloud she remembered best. Her Cloud. She leaned forward the same moment he reached for her. Their kiss, sweet and electrifying, left them both breathless and resting their foreheads against each other.
Coming out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel after a hasty shower, Tifa smiled at the sight of Cloud leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. He had his eyes closed, so she could look her fill, though she could still feel a blush heating her cheeks.
"You done?"
Tifa jumped. Does he know?
Cloud opened his eyes, glanced at her, then smiled and looked away. "Can I get in there now?"
"Uh, yeah." Tifa tucked a strand of wet hair behind her ear.
Cloud pushed away from the wall and she tried not to smile at the drink stain he left behind. He thinks he's so cool. But, she found her feet stuck to the floor as he moved closer. Her eyes lowered from his face, which didn't improve anything because it drew her attention to his loose limbed walked instead. She swallowed and glanced at him through her lashes.
Cloud stopped with an inch of space between them. "Can I...get by?"
Flustered, Tifa realised she was blocking the door. "Oh!" About to step away, she caught sight of a teasingly smug smile on Cloud's face. She stopped and smiled back. "I dunno, can you?"
This time, Cloud swallowed. A slow blush lit his cheeks before he looked away. "You're dripping on the floor," he mumbled, pointing to the small pool spreading around Tifa's feet.
"And you're all sticky," she replied, gesturing at the patch on the wall.
Cloud glanced at the wall, then her and back again. "Uhh..."
Tifa ducked her head and laughed. Cloud never could keep up the bravado for long. She preferred his sweetness, anyway.
Surprising her by clasping her upper arms, Cloud gently urged Tifa aside while holding her gaze. His head darted forward and he stole a swift kiss before releasing her and heading into the bathroom. "Be right back."
Tifa licked her lips and tasted something sweet. "Uh, sure," she replied in a faint voice.
Was three months a long time to date before taking the next step? Tifa hadn't thought about it. She'd never dated before. Not really. Cloud lived at Seventh Heaven with her, but they had separate rooms. After the first time, she hadn't wanted him to think she was easy, or she expected anything from him. She didn't want him to feel pressured to move faster than he was ready for. Or maybe she was just scared. She didn't want to push for more in case he suddenly left. What if he didn't really feel the same way?
"You're a coward." Tifa sighed and stared out of the window. She'd changed into an aqua coloured dress and left her hair loose so it could dry. Thanks to the heat it almost was. "Why can't you just ask him?" She glared accusingly at the washed out reflection of herself framed in the window pane.
"Ask who what?" Cloud appeared behind her, dressed in a white t-shirt and shorts and roughly drying his hair with a towel. The gravity defying spikes were already rearranging to stick up in his signature style. When she didn't answer, he stopped and stared, then swiped a finger along her upper arm.
Tifa turned, eyes widening as he put it to his lips.
"Punch," he said, referring to the sticky drink residue.
"Oh." Tifa laughed. "Guess I missed a spot." She tried to hold onto the playful mood, but worry made her frown. "So, I guess everyone's leaving soon." She crossed her arms under her breasts and tried to smile. "They couldn't stick around forever, right? Cid and Yuffie have homes that aren't here. Nanaki, too. Barret wants to rebuild Corel, so I guess he'll be gone for awhile. It'll be quiet."
"Hmm." Cloud tipped his head to the side. "Not that quiet. Marlene'll need looking after and there's still Biggs, Wedge and Vincent." He paused and added, "And did you forget about Zack and Aerith? You really think it'll be quiet with them around?"
Tifa shook her head and smiled. "Guess not." She looked up at him. "I guess...I just hate goodbyes."
"It won't be for good. They'll come back and visit."
She couldn't help but look at him with hopeful eyes. "You think?"
Cloud swallowed and nodded. "Yeah."
She nodded, but grew apprehensive as she asked, "And you?"
Cloud frowned. "What about me?" He took a step closer. "I live here. With you."
"Yeah, we're neighbours again," she joked, referring to their separate rooms. Though, right then, Cloud was in her room and came in as though it belonged to him. She hadn't noticed, but he did that a lot.
"Don't have to be." His eyes were earnest and hopeful. He took another step, then waited, leaving her to close the remaining distance between them. "Tifa...You don't have to be afraid. I'm not leaving." He smiled and added, "So, suck it up."
Tifa ducked her head and laughed. "Did I really say that?" She walked towards him and he was already opening his arms to draw her in.
"Yup." Pressing his face against her neck he mumbled, "Scared the shit out of me. Don't go places I can't follow, okay?"
Tifa got the sense he meant emotionally, since there wasn't any place he couldn't find her if he wanted to. Oh. She wrapped her arms around his neck, threading her fingers through his hair. "I won't," she promised. Feeling daring, she kissed his cheek, then whispered in his ear, "You wanna sleep in here tonight?"
For once, Cloud one-upped her into speechlessness when he replied, "Every night." Moving to press a kiss to her lips, he added in a murmur, "But, can we save the sleeping for later? There's something else I've been waiting for first..."
As night drew in and the guests of Seventh Heaven cleared out calling goodnight to each other and still passing jokes back and forth, Aerith slotted her arm through Zack's and snuggled into his side. "So?" She looked up at him, a huge smile on her face and her eyes shining like emeralds.
Zack chuckled and tapped her on the nose. "Good job today! Mission success!"
Aerith giggled. "Those two." She mock sighed and shook her head. She stopped suddenly and pulled a face. "I didn't get my date with Tifa!" She growled with disappointment, making her sound like Red. "Cloud better appreciate this!"
Zack laughed. "Oh, I guarantee he does."
Aerith shook her head. "You perv."
He pointed at himself, then her. "If I'm one, so are you. It wasn't me who said those two need to stop overthinking things and just do it."
Aerith squealed and laughed. "Don't say it like that! People will send us to jail!"
Zack wrapped both arms around her waist and picked her up. "Wherever we go, it'll be together, so that's fine by me!"
Linking her fingers behind his neck, Aerith urged Zack to lower her enough so she could kiss him. "Yeah," she agreed, coming up for air and trying not to blush. "We're together and that's all that matters." She hugged him tight. "Let's go home. Mom's probably waiting up to give you a lecture."
Zack chuckled. "I'll win her over some day."
Aerith nodded. "Yeah, you will."

Never Ran Smooth (Part 15)
Hey guys! Sorry about not posting yesterday! My parents (and puppy) surprised me with a visit! Heres Part 15 of Never Ran Smooth! It’s a bit emotional!
____________________________________________________
JJ’s POV
Truth, reason and love keep little company together nowadays
The problem with me is that I didn’t know how to control my emotions. When I saw Barry, I was filled with a fit of rage. He had already made my life so miserable by dealing to my dad and now this? I saw red while I drove to his house.
Upon entering, John B instantly made me aware of everything I was doing wrong. None of that mattered though. He didn’t realize the pain I went through from this guy. He didn’t realize that this was so much bigger than just what had happened. If it weren’t for that piece of shit, maybe my dad would be different.
I took what I wanted and walked out. Savannah ran right up to me as I apologized for the detour and told everyone they would compensate for the shit we went though. John had some choice words for me as he grabbed the bag with the stolen money in it. To him, the only thing that mattered was finding the treasure. I grabbed him by the shirt and pushed him against the van, earning a gasp from Savannah. I pushed the thought of disappointing her from my mind as I continued what I was doing. I grabbed the bag back and got into the van, waiting for everyone else. They all just stared in silence at me. Then I looked at Sav. She stared at me like she didn’t know who I was. I got out of the van and listened to John, Pope, and Kie tell me they were sick of me. They were sick of everything that I did, even if it was for them. Everything I did was for them, they were all I had and even they were treating me like this. I was in the middle of telling Pope to pay me back. I was in the middle of something so unreasonable, that even I knew I was wrong. My emotions were too high to care though. Then Savannah’s voice rang out.
“JJ!” She yelled, desperation filled her voice. “You don’t owe any money, I handled it. It’s done! Stop treating your friends like this!”
That’s when I knew it wasn’t going to work. She would constantly be disappointed in me if we continued. She already felt as if she had to take care of all of my mistakes and that killed me. The fact that she thought she had to take care of the $30,000 made me so upset that I just explored.
The whole argument felt like a blur as I walked away. I knew I had just completely ripped her apart from the inside out, but I still couldn’t swallow my pride. Then when I got to the edge of town, my mind replayed the look on her face. God, JJ! How could you say that to her? You love her so much. I ran both hands through my greasy hair and threw my bag against the ground with all my power. Her heartbroken face never left my mind once.
“And because you treat me this way, I will never love you.”
Out of all the things I could’ve said in that moment, I picked the only one that I couldn’t redeem myself from. All of a sudden, the money didn’t matter anymore. The gold, the money, the treasure, none of it matter if she wasn’t by my side. I went home, not wanting to run into any of the Pogues. I couldn’t hear about how I messed up because I already knew and it was eating me alive. I pushed through the door at my house and onto the front pouch to see my father. He was working on something and didn’t even acknowledge me at first.
“I've been staying at John B's,” I muttered, looking at him.
“I didn't ask you where you were stayin'. I don't care,” he said, barely looking up. He stood up to grab something. “I knew you’d get hungry.”
“That's not why I came back, Dad,” I said with a sigh. He sat back down and I looked at him. “I got the money.”
“Yeah, I'll believe that when I see it,” he said, continuing his work. I threw the money down on the table and watched him stare at it. Finally, he grabbed the bag and opened it up.
“It’s all there. 25k,” I said and for the first time in years, he smiled. He even chuckled a little bit.
“I don't know how you got this. I-I don't even wanna know,” he said pointed at me with a proud look in his eyes. “You did it. I'll grant you that. You did it. There's beer in the cooler.”
For the first time in years I felt happy with him. He praised me and looked so happy staring at that money, but it was short lived. I walked over to the cooler with a smile on my face.
“I think that sale's still on at Guffy's of Makos,” he said, hitting the money on the table and standing up. I felt my stomach sink when I realized what he was going to do next. “They're practically givin' 'em away.”
He grabbed the newspaper ad and pointed at it, shaking the money.
“That's for the restitution,” I said. He wasn’t listening though, he was too focused on whatever was on that ad. I tried to demand his attention. “Dad. Can you please just do the right thing for once, okay?”
“You know how much you cost me, you little shit?” he asked, returning to the father I knew. The one who only cares about himself. He put the money in a water jug and screwed the cap on tight. “This nut? It ain't going to the cops. No. I'm gonna triple it-”
“Dad!” I yelled. “We have to pay Savannah back.”
My heart ached. Would she even take the money after everything I said to her? After everything I did, it would probably seem like I was doing this so I didn’t owe her anything. My heart ached at the thought.
“You got somethin' to say? After everything you done? You wanna get into it?” he asked, grabbing onto my shirt. “I didn't think so. Man, people keep wastin' my time. I gotta fix this motor.”
I could feel every emotion eating away at me. I left my friends for this. I hurt Savannah. I ruined everything to do what I thought was right, but still it wasn’t. I stole a glance at the water jug and then back at my father. I could still try to make this right. I ran forward and grabbed onto the bottle, as my dad stood up. I tried to make a break for it, but he shoved me against the house. I let out a groan as I made contact. I felt his fist collide with my left side, then my left cheekbone. I plummeted to the ground, blood dripping out of my mouth.
“Boy, you stay down there,” he said, but I didn’t listen. I got up and leaned my whole body into my punch. I hit him hard in the face, only to have the favor returned to me seconds later. He pinned me on the ground, hands wrapped around my throat. I pushed against his face, trying desperately to get him off of me. I felt my body begging for air. I kneed him hard in the side, knocking him off and got up trying once again to make a break for it, but he grabbed my foot causing me to trip. I felt his boot collide with my side and his hand grab a fistfull of my hair, pulling me back up. He pinned me against the wall, landing a few more punches against my face. Finally I got an opportunity to hit back, knocking both of us through the screen on the deck. I grabbed onto him and flipped him over.
“You gave me nothing! You gave me nothing but a shitty life! All you ever did was try and scare me! Well, guess what, Dad? ” I screamed, breaking down as I hit back. I could feel tears streaming down my face as I pinned him down. I grabbed a wrench and held it ready to hit him, but I couldn’t. I sobbed and tried to find it in me to do it, but it wasn’t there. I dropped it next to him and began to get up. “I ain't scared of you anymore.”
I got up and left him there, grabbing the money on the way out.
After walking into town, I sat there with the money and tried to wrap my brain around what to do with it. I found myself pacing back and forth outside Savannah’s hotel and trying to find the courage to go in. I looked horrible and had blood dried all over me, how could I face her like this. I built up all my courage and walked in. I was greeted by a front desk worker who looked horrified to see me. I asked softly if Savannah was here and she said no. I turned to leave, but Mr. Stryker blocked my way. I looked up at his face and he looked down disapprovingly.
“JJ,” he said. “I’d really appreciate it if you didn’t spend time with my daughter anymore.” “I-I came to pay Savannah back,” I managed to speak somewhat clearly as I held the jug up. Her dad stared at me and shook his head.
“I don’t even want to know where you got that, but don’t,” he said. “She didn’t pay your restitution. I did as a way to keep you away from her. Don’t pay me back, just stay away from my daughter.”
His words were cold and harsh. His tone had no emotion in it. He just walked away after that. Savannah didn’t do anything and I snapped at her. I ruined everything and now I had 25k and it didn’t even matter. I stood there dumbfounded and miserable.
The rest of the day came and went. I finally decided I wanted to spend the money on something my friends and I could enjoy together. Something to say I’m sorry for everything I’ve done. Something to show them they were everything to me. I got everything ready and waited. Finally, I heard a car pull up.
“What the hell?” I heard Pope say. I could hear the car doors closing and Kie and Pope walking over. I couldn’t wait to see their faces when they saw what I bought for us. I popped the cork of the champagne as they entered my view. “What did you do, JJ?”
“I got a jet going straight in my butt right now,” I said with a laugh. I tried to be my normal JJ self. “Y'all should get in immediately, you hear me?”
“How much did this cost?” Pope asked with a concerned look.
“Uh…” I started, unsure if I should be honest with them. “Well, with the generator, the petrol, and oh, hey, express delivery…” I paused to laugh a little. “Pretty much all of it, yeah.
“All of it?” Pope asked, eyes wide and mouth agape.
“Yeah, all of it.”
“You spent all the money in one day?”
“Yeah, burned a hole right through my pocket,”I said. “But, I mean, like, come on, guys, like, look at this! Finest in jet-based massage therapy, that's what they told me.” I paused. “Kie, what?  Can't a man have a little luxury in life? Come on, all this scrimpin' and scrapin'... I mean, like... guys, we--  You only live once, right? Enough of this emotional shit. Get in the Cat's Ass. Come on.”
“In the what?” Kie asked.
“In the Cat's Ass. That's what I named her. Oh, hey, yo, I almost forgot.” I said. I clicked the switch and a disco ball swirled above me. I felt the jets intensify like a glorious fountain. “Huh? Yeah, that's right, I know. Disco mode. That's right, baby!”
“Are you kidding me?” Pope said. “You could have paid Savannah back for restitution!”
“Or literally given it to any charity!” Kie added.
“You could have helped us buy supplies to get the rest of the gold out of the well!”
“Okay, well, you know what? I didn't do that! I got a hot tub!” I yelled. Why couldn’t they see I was trying? “For my friends. I got a hot tub for my friends. No, you know what? Screw friends. I got a hot tub for my family!” I stood up, finally getting upset.
“What the hell?” Kie said with a sad expression.
“I got this for you. Guys, look what I did for you! All right?” I could feel the tears coming. “Look at this! Look at this!” I felt the tears roll down my face “No, you stop being emotional. It's fine, okay? I mean, it's sweet, right? Everything--just get in!” I watch Kie get in and wrap her arms around me. That's when I broke down.”I just couldn't do it. I can't take him anymore! I was gonna kill him. I just wanna do the right thing.”
“I know,” Kie said, embracing me tightly. “I know.”
Pope stepped into the hot tub, hugging me as well as I broke down. I allowed myself to be vulnerable and open. Everything hurt. My body ached with every touch, every movement. I felt as if I couldn’t breathe through my sobs. I tried to control myself, but it all finally boiled over and nothing was going to help me stop crying. In between my gasps for air I managed to ask one more thing.
“Is Savannah okay?” I feared the answer. I wanted to know that she didn’t go back home. I knew what waited for her there. I wanted to know that she was okay and safe and healthy.
“I’m not gonna lie JJ,” Pope started. “I don’t think she's okay after all of that. She went home.”

Top 5 Kannazuki no Miko Characters
KnM is one of my favorite anime of all time. The story is unique, the romance is beautiful, and the mecha battles, though divisive, are entertaining as hell. However, the best part of the anime by far are the characters. There's so many of them, and while some are... less impressive than others (*cough* Girochi *cough*), the ones that leave an impact REALLY leave an impact.
Today, I'm here to count down my five personal favorite characters from the Kannazuki no Miko anime. But first, and honorable mention...
Hon. Mention- Makoto Saotome
Tumblr media
Mako is best girl. No doubt about that. She's energetic, upbeat, and one of Himeko's few friends. But all of that changes when she loses her entire Track and Field career in the first Orochi attack, and in her grief blamed Himeko. Of course, she eventually comes around and makes up with Himeko by encouraging her during her lowest point. FRIENDSHIP GOALS!
So... why is she only an honorable mention? Well, she's barely in the show. Her only times to shine are in episode 2 and 9, and she's basically non-existent for all the episodes in between. Basically, she's awesome, but awesome only in minimal doses.
No. 5- Reiko Ota
Tumblr media
My favorite sub-villain of the bunch. Reiko has a kind of "don't take no shit from nobody" attitude, which is a personality type that I relish. She's a woman of few words, but every word that comes out of her mouth is just pure bliss. My personal favorite is her "Number 69" joke towards Corona (which is actually kinda messed up once you know Corona's backstory). I also love how she's the only one to call out the fact that Tsubasa is gay.
One of my favorite parts of the show is when we learn that Himeko is a fan of Reiko's books. This injects a bit of dramatic irony into her character since she became an Orochi due to her failed career as an author. It really makes me wish that she and Himeko interacted at some point. Oh well, that's what fanfiction is for ^_^
No. 4- Souma Oogami
Tumblr media
Ladies, gentlemen, and those of unspecified genders, may I introduce the manliest man who ever man-ed! Souma may not be the most deep or complex character of the bunch, but you can't deny that he's a total badass. His Japanese voice actor has some of my favorite battle screams in all of anime, right up there with DBZ. I get chills everytime he shouts his signature attack "Nichirinkouretsu Daigekiha!"
Of course, he does have a small bit of development towards the end of the series. He starts off with the impression that he needs to protect Himeko from the Orochi. But after Himeko revives Ame no Murakumo by herself, he recognizes her strength and wants to fight the Orochi by her side. Respekt Wamen, my man!
No. 3- Tsubasa
Tumblr media
I love this edgy little gay boi! His mech is a darker version of Souma’s, he’s the first villain with a legit air of intimidation, and his fight with Souma oozes awesomeness! He even gets his own insert song, which is a total banger 😎
What I love most about Tsubasa is that, despite being 100% buttfuq insane, he talks to and treats Souma like a caring older brother. When he fights Souma in episode 5, he almost seems proud that Souma has embraced his Orochi powers and has become stronger.
Tsubasa also serves as a great parallel to Chikane. Both become Orochi because of their love for someone. The difference is that Tsubasa is able to see, through Chikane, what a monster he’s become. With that, he sacrifices himself to give Souma strength. Now that’s character development!
No. 2- Chikane Himemiya
Tumblr media
"NANI?! Chikane is Number 2??? Get the torches and pitchforks!!!" I know, I know, but please have patience.
What can I say about this actual goddess that hasn't already been said? Even if you've never seen the anime, you can't call yourself a yuri fan if you've never heard the name Chikane Himemiya. She's beautiful, elegant, commands authority wherever she goes, and the biggest damn sweetheart you'll ever meet (specifically to Himeko).
Chikane is by far the most damaged character in the show. She was born into a wealthy family and raised under the highest of high expectations. She had to be perfect at everything, but no one ever took into account the toll this would take on her mentally. Literally, the first person who treats her like a normal human being, Himeko, she ends up falling in love with to the point of obsession. Yeah... she's clearly not all there.
In truth, Chikane falling for Himeko is the worst thing that could have happened to her. She lives in an environment where homosexuality is clearly not the norm, and thus has no way of openly expressing her love for Himeko. This causes her to see herself as "disgusting" and to make up for this, she tries to help Himeko hook up with Souma.
Of course, I can't talk about Chikane without mentioning the most controversial scene. Chikane's decision to make Himeko hate her so she'll sacrifice her to Ame no Murakumo... by sexually assaulting her. She did something terrible, unforgivable, and that's exactly why it's so effective. This is the scene that proves how imperfect Chikane is. She made a horrible decision because she's flawed, she's human.
I could go on about Chikane forever, but that's a topic for a whole other day. Right now, I need to move on to Number 1. My favorite character in Kannazuki no Miko...
No. 1- Himeko Kurusugawa
Tumblr media
I know what you're thinking. I know I'm probably the only person on Earth who feels this way. But I'm standing my ground with this one. And here's why...
I identify with Himeko so much. When I was young, during later middle school and early high school, I was weak, unpopular, and cried at just about everything. I believed I was worthless and that eveyone else was better than me. But as I got older, I grew up and became a more confident person, someone who pursues what they want despite the many obstacles that stood in my way.
Granted, the reason for my growth wasn't because I was forced to become a mystical priestess and revive a giant robot god, but that's besides the point.
Coming from someone who may have been the most pathetic kid you'd ever see, what I look for in a protagonitst is someone who's flawed, but more importantly, someone who's vulnerable. In that sense, Himeko is a perfect protagonist. She's the last person you'd expect to be chosen for the task of saving the world. She's a 16 year old girl who puts eveyone's happiness before her own and blames herself for everything that goes wrong in her life. Even her body is unable to take the strain, as she faints almost everytime she faces a dangerous situation.
However, as the show progresses, we see Himeko grow into her own. She becomes braver, wanting to be there for the ones she loves. She becomes stronger, enduring the trauma of sexual assault and reviving Ame no Murakumo all by herself. She learns to love herself, realizing she does have a place in this world and people who care about her.
The only thing that doesn't change about her is her greatest flaw: her undying forgiveness. Her ability to look past everything bad someone has done to her. This applies most to Chikane. Even after Chikane assaults her, attacks Souma, becomes an Orochi, and DESTROYS THE ENTIRE WORLD... she forgives her. Because that's just the kind of person she is.
There's no greater strength that the ability to forgive the unforgivable.
Well, that was a mouthful. I hope y'all enjoyed my first Top 5 list. You may or may not like Kannazuki no Miko as a show, and I can understand that, but I hope my little insight into these characters swayed you just a bit.
Until next time, my fellow yuri lovers! ❤️😊❤️
