to any and all marauders fans:

two close friends and I are developing a no war hogwarts au roleplay server on discord and we're looking for people to join

below are some of the requirements to join, as well as a list of the available characters

it's a safe space where anyone is welcome to play a character (or multiple), including side characters (such as the black sisters) and ocs

you must be at least 15 years old, however, age restrictions may be adapted for certain characters due to ships and what the person playing the other character feels comfortable with

you must be active on discord to join the server

we'll be starting on the slytherin skittles 5th year and the marauders 6th year

the roleplay is guided by the members of the server in a free-flowing manner, there is no particular set plot, unless pre-discussed

if you're interested, leave in the notes or reblog which of the available characters you'd like to play. it is best to choose multiple characters, as some roles may be already filled by the time you decide to join, not only that but your age might interfere with with the comfort level of the other person, when it comes to ships

and bc of this here’s my ideas ab marlene and some insight as to how i portray her : )

okay so she’s the youngest of like 5 and she’s the only girl

major mummy issues bc her mum always wanted a girl and like marlene was not what she wanted, marlene isn’t really all that feminine at all (prolly bc she grew up with mainly masculine influences from her brothers) but yeah she feels like she will never be enough for her mother no matter what she does, she will never be the daughter her mother wants

to make up for this insecurity she deals with it by leaning into more of what her mother doesn’t want her to be, being less and less of the ‘good girl’ her mum wanted

so she dyes her hair (im a firm believer my girl is a natural brunette and bleaches her hair)

and she gets piercings and spends all her money on a guitar and hangs around w people her mother doesn’t want her to (i don’t think her mum would like sirius pour example)

her mum isn’t abusive or anything, but she just makes marlene feel likes she’s not good enough

in primary school marlene never made any female friends (no i am not projecting how dare you accuse me of such a thing (im totally projecting))

she’s been friends with james and peter since childhood and she was always happy with them, but she also did feel a bit left out bc they didn’t go to muggle primary school and she didn’t really make friends there

i think she’s a halfblood and that’s why she went to a muggle primary school

but yeah lily was her first real female friend, i feel like lily and marls are just the classic extrovert adopts an introvert, like as soon as they met on the first day marlene was just like, yeah i’m making you my friend

james introduced her and sirius, and they were instantly best of friends, bc they are like the same person (marlene has less trauma tho)

marlene figured out she was a lesbian bc of her crush on mary, she did the classic thing being like ‘no i just really want to be friends with mary’ like no you dotn you lesbian you want to kiss her

and they did kiss, but nothing came of it and they’re good friends now

i think they kissed in like 3rd year

roight now let’s talk ab dorlene

they are quidditch rivals to lovers

they met on the pitch the first game either of them have ever played

gryffindor lost to slytherin and that was when marlene decided she hates dorcas (dorcas scored the winning goal or smth) (or saved one of marlene’s shots)

they argue a lot for like 3 years

eventually marlene realises she just wants to kiss dorcas and be near her and that’s why she wants to argue with her (to like be with her yk ? does this make sense idk)

once she realised her feelings she constantly talked to mary, lily and james ab it

they all get sick of hearing ab it

so dorcas and marlene are arguing ab smth random in 5th year and like marlene just yells out that she’s in love with dorcas

dorcas kisses her bc girlie is impulsive

they then sit down and talk and agree to date

they are very good at communicating now bc they realised they could’ve been dating since 4th year if they’d just admitted how they felt

well, since dead to me hasn't ended yet (kidding kidding kidding kidding!!!) lmao I really thought I was gonna have a hard time finding a fic with an unhappy ending but I evidently forgot who I am. I dunno how to choose between: 1. i don't even know where you end and i begin (500 words, canon prongsfoot....you get it) 2. Promises to Keep (1k words, dorlene with canon ending....you get it)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Okay listen, do I technically have a fic that mentions living happily ever after in the last line? Yes. Am I choosing that fic? No. I'm choosing Happy Holidays, You Filthy Potters, because 1. smut, 2. sassy young Harry, and best of all, 3. sassy good godfather sirius black 😉

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I've gotten a couple of comments about Lily in Dead To Me but I've decided it's not my problem if people don't have critical analysis skills 💀

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do! I write smut for a number of different ships and plan on doing others! Uhhh, what kind? the fact that I don't really know what that means probably means it's pretty vanilla 😆 there's a lot of going down on people 🤐

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Haha, no, but if I did I'd probably do PJO/HP

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge. that would be so heartbreaking.

No, but that's SO cool that people offer to do that for some fics!!!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have!! @charmsandtealeaves and I co-wrote a fic for a jilychallenge last year, before we were even friends! It was my first time co-writing a fic, which was very cool and different, but also didn't feel that foreign to me -- I think because I've spent a lot more years doing para RP than I have writing fics. It was fun to kind of riff off another writer in a different way. I would definitely do it again!

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

Okay, this is kind of tough because I only recently got into Prongsfoot, and they are the definition of soulmates... But because I ultimately see Sirius as more of an ace/aro character, Jily wins the place of favorite ship in my heart. <3

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Well, I really only have two WIPs posted on AO3: Dead To Me and Just This Once, and I have all of DTM outlined and plan to finish it by fall. Just This Once might be a while, but I also have a plan for it and would like to finish it at some point... But I guess there's a chance I won't finish it -- I do have a lot of other multi-chaps I am going to be starting soon.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Hm. I like to think I'm good at getting into the minds of my characters, really thinking through their motivations and emotions and then expressing those to the reader. I also think I'm fairly good at dialogue. I really like writing banter so I hope others think I'm good at it, haha. And based on what I've been told, my smut isn't half bad 😆

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Oh, definitely writing descriptions of any kind. I never remember to describe the scene and when I do, I think it feels clunky. I'm not great at writing in a more direct way, either; I struggle to express a character's emotions without getting a bit flowery with it. Just generally, I think my writing could be tighter, you know? I'm sure I'll realize other things I need to work on as I write more long fics, too.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Ah, haven't done it yet, so don't have any thoughts to share.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

HP -- Jily on the Neopets forums... never 4get <3

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

If we're talking finished works, I'd have to say Tall Dark and Glasses, which I wrote for the masquerade event for Jilytober last year. To me, that fic has a certain je ne sais quois that is hard to replicate. But unfinished? Dead To Me, hands down, and once it's finished it will be very hard to ever top it. It's imperfect and there are a lot of edits I'd make if I were to go back through and polish it up, but it's the first multi chap fic I've ever written, and beyond just feeling immensely proud of that, the story itself and how I'm writing it is one of the most heartfelt and meaningful things I'll ever write in my life.

not all of the pairings need to take place in the same universe. i’m happy to do au’s (both magical verse au’s and non magical verse au’s). i’m also happy to dabble in other eras as well if you’re interested but marauders is currently where my brainrot is at the moment. i would like the plots to be more mature, possibly with darker themes but that’s not a requirement. however, all the characters will be 18+ regardless of whether or not smut is included. we can include smut if you’re comfortable with writing it but if you’re not i’m happy to fade to black.

Hello! I am a 21-year-old literate roleplayer who has recently gotten back into the Marauders and I am looking for a long-term partner to RP Marauders Era plots with me, as well as plots involving the Marauders in general. The main one I am currently interested in starting is one involves the ships Jily (James Potter x Lily Evans), Wolfstar (Sirius Black x Remus Lupin), and Dorlene (Dorcas Meadowes x Marlene McKinnon). The plot will also include Fralice (Frank Longbottom x Alice Longbottom), though they’ll be featured less prominently than the three other ships, and will also feature some of my OCs as the supporting cast, with a temporary Canon X OC pairing. Here are my requirements:

- Partner has to be 18+. I don’t feel comfortable roleplaying with minors, even if the characters we are roleplaying as are minors.

- Partner has to be a literate roleplayer. One-liners will not be tolerated.

- NSFW content is ONLY allowed between consenting ADULT characters.

- Partner must be able to roleplay as James Potter, Sirius Black, Peter Pettigrew, and Dorcas Meadowes. And some additional characters, if the plot calls for it.

- The roleplay must stay within Discord DMs. I don’t like RPing on public posts or huge public servers.
