BNHA x DP crossover

Why do I feel like in every BNHA/DP crossover fic that I’ve read no one seems to be inclined to give Danny a believable cover story for his powers, when a really easy one popped into my head the first time I ever thought of it.

Quirk: Archetypal Ghost

This Quirk gives the individual the potential to develop any ability that is/was correlated to Ghosts in mythology, folklore, and pop culture (with in the human collective conscious).

Why can Danny produce ice? Because ghosts cause cold spots everyone knows that. Why can Danny affect radio waves and cause tech to glitch out? Because ghosts can affect radio waves and cause tech to glitch out. Why can Danny be invisible, intangible, and fly? Because ghosts do those things.

And just on and on for every single one of his powers.

There’s not a single one of of his innumerable abilities that doesn’t fall under the category of “It happened at one point in mythology/folklore/pop culture and has since been adopted as a Ghost thing by the collective conscious”.

Even his more unique and obscure powers like Ghostly Wail, Dream Walking, and Entering forms of media, fall under this explanation. Because Banshees, the idea of spirits of the dead communicating via dream, and the movie The Ring, are all ideas that have existed for more than 200 years by the time BNHA starts, and are firmly entrenched in the collective conscious by the time the story starts.

So yeah, don’t know if writers are intentionally going with “Danny doesn’t know how to explain how all of his many superpowers are just one highly versatile super power (even though the boy is the most generic ghost to ever ghost when it comes to powers)” on purpose. Or if they just don’t want to come up with a proper Quirk name and description for Danny’s halfa status.

Using this method you could even write a fully blown “Danny was Reincarnated into the BNHA world, and his Quirk ended up just being his powers from his previous life in the form of a Quirk” story. Instead of just, “Danny ends up in BNHA world due to Ghost Zone shenanigans and/or ghostly meddling of some sort, but ends up going back to his original world at the end” type of stories.

Danny would actually have to stay in BNHA world and deal with their form of crazy. Instead of just getting mentored for a while, getting to build a support structure of adults who somewhat understand what he’s going through, and then dip before the absolutely mental shit starts to happen.

Also in the Reincarnation stories, at least there’d be a reason as to why and how Quirk-effecting-Quirks would work on Danny’s ghost powers. Because it doesn’t make any sense at all in cross-dimension Danny stories for Aizawa’s Eraser Quirk, or Monoma’s Copy Quirk to work on Danny’s powers at all.

He doesn’t have a Quirk in those types of stories, so there shouldn’t be anything for Aizawa to erase, or for Monoma to copy. He’s half ghost in those stories. No Quirk/quirk factor for them to interface with.

Aizawa and Monoma (and AFO) being able to mess with Danny’s powers when he’s from another dimension and doesn’t have a Quirk, is like if Superman was dumped into BNHA and they were able to affect his powers. Really lazy writing.

And when fic writers make Aizawa/Monoma/AFO able to mess with Danny’s powers, they don’t even bother to try and make it make sense. They don’t make Quirks be caused by this entire dimension having a much higher concentration of ectoplasm and the result of extremely high numbers of human/animal liminality. Which would be an extremely easy way to make it make sense, and it’s right there.

Also in reincarnated Danny fics, you could actually just make Danny AFO’s literal son, instead of just being mistaken for his son by the people who know about AFO. Which would be hilarious. Because Danny’s got an entire past life of dunking on villains who think they have the right to be his father due to power set similarity.

Aizawa: So, what exactly is your quirk?

Danny: I'm half alive and half dead.

Aizawa: What?

Danny: Well it's kinda confusing.

Aizawa: How about you start step by step.

Danny: So first is that I have a human living form here. [Gestures to self] And I have a ghost not alive form. [Transforms into phantom before gesturing to body]

Todoroki: So you just die on command?

Danny: Basically, yeah.

Tokoyami: A beautiful ability I could only desire to welcome as my own one day.

Aizawa: Tokoyami please stay after class.

Tokoyami: You cannot lie to the green monster that resides within you as well Aizawa.

Aizawa: No but we still need to talk.

Tokoyami: Very well then, I shall.

Aizawa: Oh kami. Alright so you alter your form. What else does your quirk include?

Danny: Well I have stereotypical ghostly abilities like flying, invisibility, intangibility, being able to turn things I touch invisible and intangible. I also have like ecto-rays and ecto-blasts and I can-

Aizawa: So your quirk status is just multiple bs convent abilities like the problem child. Plus while the problem childs' favorite past time is self sacrifice, you actually die on a regular bases. Do you also break your bones daily?

Danny: Hmmm, not in particular, but I do have my own healing factor so that's a plus.

Aizawa: At least Recovery Girl will like you. Well, then it's settled, you will be joining class 1-B. I already have to deal with 2 kids with multiple quirks, one who consistently is trying to kill themselves, one who is consistently try to kill their father, and one student who has activity attempted murder. Yes, murder, not homicide since it can be proven in the court of law that it was planned. Not to mention the ball of curses and anger, and the walking embodiment of sexual harassment. Hell would have to freeze over before I have you as another problem child under my care and responsibility in my class.

Danny: Well, I do have an ice core so I am physically capable of freezing over Hell.

Aizawa: No, I forbid it.

Danny: But you just said you're not my teacher. So I don't actually have to listen to you.

Aizawa: That's not how that works and you know it.

Danny: No I don't actually. So don't mind me, I'll be back in a few for class to start after I freeze over Hell. Make sure to leave me an open desk!

Aizawa: Kami, what did I do that was so bad in a previous life to warrant this? What? Did I still candy from baby orphans? What was it?

Dcxdp prompt: where is my baby?

Dan and Dani are hurt badley, their cores are cracked/broken, Danny takes them to frostbite and offers to give them a piece of his own core so they could heal because he is their mother/original they can fully adapt to his core, with him being extremely powerful and a perfect halfa he would be able to recover eventualy.

Due to plot reasons after the surgery Danny and kids are attacked, danny is currently very weak and has an unstable space core, as a last resort he sends them to another dimension they end up transported to mha/dc, (Danny is not lucid through this )

Danny wakes up disoriented with memory loss not knowing how he got there(whether he forgets about the attack or not is up to you)and where his kids are, he is hysterical, heros think he is a villain but its just that his core is on the fritz and his distress is causing his powers to become uncontrollable

He gets calmed down and taken in by aizawa/martain manhunter(or any hero you think fits), they have lie detector detective/wonder woman’s lasso of truth to interrogate him, danny’s talking is incomprehensible he says the date and place is wrong, he dosent know where he is or where his kids are, he gets confused about his age (like is he 14 or 19),barley remembers his name and facts about his family except his kids,

(and maybe for plot reasons he vaguely has knowledge about mha like what quirks are/heros/villains/basic history/and the like or not up to you)

But what he does know is that he has 2 kids a girl and a boy, dan either has black hair grey eyes or white hair red eyes and dani either has black hair blue eyes or white hair green eyes, that they are hurt, they are missing and that he desperately wants/needs to find them.

so i hope you like this and decide to write something because i can’t write a proper fic and would really like to read your idea’s

I really love the idea of throwing Danny and Aizawa into the same ball pit (metaphorically) cause think of that kind of dichotomy.

Aizawa, who is a kind of hail mary when it comes to quirks. But doesn't have a real offensive power like the Todoroki's or Present Mic, etc. And he works with and around that in the most terrifyingly effective way. Not to mention he grew up in and lives in a world where having powers is normal. Where he got a teacher growing up and where he became a teacher to other students.

Danny Phantom who is powerhouse, but has a lot of the same powerset as his enemies do. And he didn't get his more unique abilities right out the gate. He got powers much later than most kids in bnha get theirs and he learned how to use them mostly in action. And maybe he even tried his best learning how to use each power from his villains. He'd see them do something new and untested, or use something familiar in a new and creative way, and he'd mimic them. And sure, sometimes they just had abilities he didn't have. But the point stands, many of his worst enemies have been his best teachers

Danny Phantom might as well be a walking talking Example for everything Aizawa and other pros in the bnha world work to avoid with their students. Aizawa takes one look at him and just sees Oboro. Dead Oboro. The reason he takes such a hard stance with his students in the first place. To teach them not to be reckless. Not to get themselves killed

Take Danny who's thrown into a world with all the support systems he needed when he was first starting out...

And then make him try his damned hardest to hit undo and go home.

Because this world is exactly what Danny Phantom needed, but everything Danny Fenton needs is left behind in Amity Park. His friends. His sister. The life he built despite the odds.

Give him everything he didn't know he needed and put him in a position to reject it

And then show me the bnha pros watching the same thing happening to their students, starting with the attack at the USJ

Dp x MHA prompt/story; ghostly child.

Okay so this idea been turning in my head for most of the day so I'm going to try to write this, anyone is free to add to it too.

Main plot is this; Danny is on the run from the GIW, being injured enough to cause him to de-age to around 6-7 years old. Same power strength and mind, but suffering from pretty bad injuries such as dissection, and having a lightning scar on his arm from the accident, others are from dealing with the other ghosts.

Danny does try to survive by himself, mainly useing the tricks and abilities he learned from his rouges, mostly doing the bare minimum to get by like steal food and clothes, sometimes kick bad guys to the curb but mostly keeps to himself.

He is in the MHA because during his escape he ended up creating a portal, while doing so he was begging for safety and to finally be accepted, the infinite realms awnsered by placing him a universe of heros, though it takes Danny some time to realize that.

Now with that established time to try and start the story, (though writing this while a bit tired)

Danny's bare feet echoed as he ran through the rain storm, it made his body shiver yet he kept pushing through as his medical gown was almost causing him to trip due to it being a size a bit to big.

Yet it didn't matter to the young boy as he ran through the dark streets and alleyways, the pitch blackness of the night helped cover his tracks as he pushed his body forward.

All Danny knew was he needed to run, get away from the men in snow white suits, or else his blood will be splattered again.

No, no, that can't happen again, they had already cut Danny's body over a thousand times that he worried if there was anything human left of him.

His hair was already permanently white, his eyes now a sickly green that shined like spot lights in the dark, he even lost the real need to breath which was the only reason he hasn't collapsed yet.

The sickly young boy only stopped running when he slammed into a trash can, causing him to fall over and cry out in pain as his hands and knees bleed out a toxic red and green.

Painful sobs escaped his mouth as he culled up behind a dumpster, useing what little shelter from the pouring rain.

Finally unable to go any further Danny passes out, coughing now and then as he falls into a restless sleep.

The sounds of birds chipping and passing by cars woke up Danny as the sunrise peeked though the clouds.

Rubbing his eyes and sticking to the shadows Danny crawled from his hiding spot to see where he even was, everything felt so much bigger then they used to be and it was kind of scary.

When Danny peeked around the corner what he saw made his eyes widen.

People and humanoid creatures walked the streets, drove in cars, and chatted away like there wasn't a problem in the world, living their lives without a care around them.

How long was Danny locked up? How far has the world move on that both human amd supernaturals could live together without fear? Would he be accepted for once or rejected again and hunted?

Too many questions filled the young halfa's mind, he needed to get away from the crowds and find some where safe, after all the Guys In White was most likely still looking for him.

Backing away further into the shadows Danny took twisting turns and back paths just to try and stay hidden. Ducking behind whatever he could find like a scared beast whenever a loud or sudden noise happened.

After hours of wondering the streets a painful growl came from Danny's stomach, reminding him that he was still human enough to need food, real food, not just literal trash.

Grumbling Danny went looking for an out of way convince store or small food shop, knowing full well he will have to steal from it. He would possibly go to a bigger food chain that wouldn't care as much about a few missing items, but Danny was still scared of being seen by too many people.

Finally finding a shop that was out of the way and didn't seem to have even a customer inside it Danny took his chance.

Pulling at his core and useing what energy he had, turned himself invisible and intangible as he walked right through the door.

Moving quickly he grabbed what his tiny arms could hold, which was a water bottle and twi pre made sandwiches.

Looking at the check out counter he could see a very tired looking young lady with stripes and long fangs, looking close to a wearcat, bored out of her mind. Werid words and colorful posters sounded her like some kind of ads.

Seeing he wasn't noticed yet Danny bolted for the door.

His invisibility slipped just as he passed the store clerk, leaving her only a sight of a small white haired boy in a werid gown phasing though the doors. It took only a second to make her realize he was running with unpaid store items.

Danny could hear distant yelling as he booked it back to the darkness of the alleyways, catching a few other people's attention but escaping.

Once sure no one was chasing him, Danny wolfed down his sandwiches and downed the water. Ancients, he hadn't even eaten or even got a proper drink like that in ages, tye most he gotten was the bare minimum to keep him alive.

Now a bit more fulied and a clearer mind Danny was planning his next move, which was finding a place to well, live in. A place to hide away from and maybe make his new haunt if it stays a good spot.

As he dusted himself off a near by broken mirror caught his eye. Moving forward Danny could see himself for the first time in a long while... it was a bit distressing.

Standing in the reflection was a young boy no older then 7, with snow white hair that was long and tangled with ectoplasm abd blood, wearing an oversized medical gown that was torn at the bottom, showing his recent knee injuries and barely hiding his lightning scar and others. Lime green eyes stared back at him as tears were rolling down his crumb covered face.

Not wanting to look at the monster in the mirror any longer, Danny matched forward in hopes to find an abounded building close by so he wouldn't have to pass out on the streets again.

An unknown amount of weeks passed by, during that time Danny had found an old shack not to far off from a small stream and bridge.

From there he stole the odd blanket or clothing that were left in the wind to dry, making a nest withing the rotting boards. Danny manged to get his hands on a few shirts and shorts that would fit his smaller body better, yet kept the bloodied hospital gown, mostly as a way to cover up a big hole in the wall.

During his raids to get resources Danny did get spotted many more times, especially when trying to snach food, but so far hasn't been chased further then a block or two.

Danny had quickly found out two major factors of this new place; firstly he couldn't read anything, everything looked like werid squiggles and lines, that might be due to him not being good at reading in the first place or the fact he only knew how to read/write ghost since that's what he did to pass the time. Secondly was there were heros and villains, and he wasn't sure who he was more scared of.

Heros were easy to spot since they wore costumes and announced themselves, villains were more subtle most of the time until they start causing trouble.

Danny had a few run in with the latter, mostly just jerks who think a kid would be an easy target. They were proven wrong quickly when Danny knocked them out by barely trying and dragging them to what he thought was a police station.

Heros were much more tricky, Danny mainly blots whenever he sees any, same with police in person, because what if they worked with the GIW? What would happen if they find out Danny was nothing but an abomination, a crime against life and death.

He wasn't going to risk it.

Yet unaware to Danny due to his adventures he had been spotted multiple times by civilian and a few heros too, one or two may have caught a picture of him back when he was still in his medical gown. And with him naturally running whenever a hero was spotted things were getting suspicious.

Heros and officers were alerted to the presents of a young boy who's case was looking scarily similar to another.

Which lead to Danny's main problem now...

He keeps getting chased by heroes!

Danny mostly avoids them by phasing thorough buildings but it was getting annoying. He started to use his intangiblity, floating, and ice abilities more, he didn't use his ecto blasts since he didn't want to cause that much harm. So far he's been stalked and chased by a werid guy made out of wood, a cowboy, and a rabbit lady just this week! That's not counting the police trying to corner him.

The only ones now that weren't giving him any trouble were normal people and the odd villan.

All Danny wanted to do is eat a good sandwich and maybe relax a bit.

Danny Phantom in the my hero acadamia world FIC idea:

Danny had a niche quirk like being able to sense the suns location or something. His mother has some sort of strength quirk. Jazz has some enchanted sight quirk, and his dad can do something idk he ain’t the main character.

Ghosts exist for reasons.

Danny ends up meeting the my hero acadamia gang and AFO

AFO looks at this white haired green eyed boy and feels immense guilt which Danny does his own research. Danny decided that if it keeps this guy from taking over the world he will pretend to be this Yoichi guy.

Yoichi as a ghost only Danny can see is feeding him information.

Danny was tired. Tired of life. Tired of Death. Tired of Amity and how there was nothing to do. 

Don’t get him wrong! The peace pact was the best thing to happen to this town, to this dimension, to him! No more random ghost fights for no good reason, no more protecting ghosts from scared and angry townspeople. It was, well, peaceful! 

And he liked that, he really did! But after a couple hundred years of nothing to do but kingly duties, paperwork (courtesy of the stupid eyeballs) and the occasional friendly spar, he was tired of it all. He needed something different for a little bit. A couple years of excitement, a vacation from his boredom.

 And he truly did need it. Being forever young and mildly ADHD was doing him no favors either in the boredom department.

He sighed. 

He needed to expand his horizons… but… he had never really left America in all his years, had he? Sure there were a couple flyby’s but he had never set foot out of America… (the moon and other planets didn’t count he nodded to himself, floating at the idea of going on vacation)

He smiled to himself as he picked up his phone and called his sister/cousin/daughter. I wonder where in the multiverse she is…. 

Well, Danny reasoned with himself, it wouldn’t be a road-trip without my favorite little traveler. I wonder what Japan is like this time of year.. It’s been a while since I’ve talked to Toshinori…

Danny never thought he'd be in this situation.

Fxck. He never thought he'll even raise a child! He sucked at that! He still remembered what happened at the Lancer's class 400 years ago! He only babysat he's nephews and nieces just time by time and it was only for some hours! ...also his great nephews and nieces. But that doesn't matter.

Danny looked at the boy he held in his arms. The tiny, skinny boy with red wing was holding on to his jumpsuit/hazmat suit tightly. Who would have thought having a visit to Japan would make him find abused child who needs help.

"Hey kid, it's okay. I promise. No one's gonna hurt you anymore. it's really okay."

Finally, finally the kid looked up at Danny. His yellow eyes looking straight at him.

And as Danny looked at the hope in the boy's eyes.. he knew he didn't have a choice.

The notes have very little to do with the curriculum. Instead they detail his theories on how each student would fair in a fight with his rogues. Latest theory: Mineta vs The Box Ghost. He's stumped

Class 1-A: *visibly shuddering, absolutely freezing and this close to murdering an innocent man*

Aizawa: Todoroki, control your quirk before I do it for you.

Bakugou: I'll show you hell can't be frozen over if you don't shut your damn quirk off

Danny's definitely NOT supposed to be there. In his defence, what Aizawa doesn't know can't get him arrested. "Ask forgiveness, not permission," is his personal favorite motto.

It might get Todoroki after-school detention though

Or it would have if he had kept his mouth shut. Who knew three small words ("My bad, bro.") from a quiet, disembodied voice could cause so much chaos?
