#why? to smash childrens sandcastles and so yoichi can force third to let him give him a sand mermaid tail #jk its because yoichis pale ass needs to photosynthesise #even just a smidge of tan would be a miracle #anyways it took me 16 days but i did it yall #im gonna go cry in a corner now this was a PAIN to draw #was nearly gonna draw thirds hand on yoichis waist but then i realised i'd have to draw hands 😔#i was gonna give yoichi sunglasses but i ran out of time (ironic isnt it)#i had to make sure my first proper piece with the third ofa user was immaculate. i simply had to go plus ultra on him #....then the abs came #suddenly my will to art vanished #dont ask what happend with yoichi.... i cannot explain this phenomenon/miracle #something snapped in me after all my horrible yoichi arts i did the previous month #third only took me 3 days to draw. #delete later #another journal entry 📝 for the void #i have not been sleeping well for the past 2 wks 😵‍💫 i always wake up like clockwork after 5-6 hrs which feels like not nearly enough #i feel like i've done everything there is to do (consistent exercise + consistent sleep times + earplugs + weighted blanket + no caffeine)#last night i took melatonin too but no... same problem staying asleep 😭#ahh whatever. i'm just frustrated that it has to be this way :(#anyways in an act of spite i reread like the 4 wips that have been sitting in my drafts from the past few weeks #i think something that will never cease to surprise me about writing is that more effort/time doesn't necessarily translate to better #results; i suppose that's the case with all kinds of art but #it does feel somewhat unintuitive. one of my fav professors in uni said to not dismiss those 'lightning in a bottle' moments (in art) as #blind luck... but to instead analyze the circumstances and iterate on recreating them. and i think one of my artist friends who i deeply #respect said something similar (wrt artistic rituals/setup). i have too many thoughts on writing and on my own creative processes and #weaknesses to fit into any number of tags here. :') that said...#*shakes ch2 draft* after everything i did and all the hours i spent WHY are you still so bad?!!! D: i am baffled and frustrated.#and why do i prefer this other [redacted] draft which i hammered out with utterly no regard towards the quality??#anyways. back to the drawing board i guess T.T

hey that's not supposed to be out there (uploaded wrong version at first haha whoops)

#not supposed to be that color either #i wonder who that belongs to #i had a very vague meaning for this in mind but saying it would spoil the fun #christ this took me forever #i wanted to do a quick project to give myself a break from my final #but accidentally made an entirely new kind of nightmare #BUT i can proudly say that i am very proud of this despite how long it took me #alrighty this blog is all about tracking progress so my thought on this;#it's not really as energetic as i had hoped to make it so i think that's the biggest technical issue i have with this #i'll try to get back to doing more gestures soon as a way to help with that #i think my shadows are a bit confusing too #i'm looking at it now and his glasses kinda taper off into the void of his fur bc i didnt mark the shadow along the left of his ear #but the thought of digging back through layers to fix it and blending that mess in is giving me a headache so i'm content with leaving it #i think i learned a lot about light and reflections though #my shadows aren't the greatest but i had so much fun rendering the glasses #and the glow of the soul pushed me to think about bounce light a lot more #figuring out how to make the colors look like they were glowing was a whole separate issue #i did it in the last big ralsei drawing i did but not nearly to this extent #i won't be doing something this large for a while after this but i'll keep trying to work on the things i didn't like about this #i think i'm gonna start putting my self-crit in the tags from now on #it really does bulk up the posts and it's hard to scroll past #i like reflecting on my work like this though #i've been able to draw a lot more since i've started doing it because it helps me create specific goals for myself #lets me keep pushing myself while still having fun with my art #ralsei #deltarune #deltarune fanart

oh brother. that comment was an aside from the whole AI issue but apparently that wasn't clear, so let me amend that.

My point was that calling people who can't draw well "talentless hacks" is just plain fucking rude!!!! My own skills have literally fuck all to do with that. Some people may not be as skilled, but they create art for fun as a way of creative self expression. Some people are still LEARNING. Be nice to others, god damn

When you cannot join art fight this year because you’re working on your style and technique on a new art program and so far making even a sketch has taken hours of your life. Unable to actually do a full piece at this point because god is against you.

#ugh so many mutuals and buds are doing it this year and I’m over here crying over brushes #like I imported the dry lining brush I use from photoshop but not my sketchbrush and it has thrown me off completely #NOT TO MENTION lining with said dry brush is different on CSP because it looks funky to me but it’s because I draw on a massive canvas #and the crop tool is different on CSP it doesn’t make things bigger it just crops now #I’m just fuming guys I am #cause I’m frustrated #learning new things is so hard #I feel pressure to get csp quickly because I need income #and it took me a day A DAY of resketching because I hate the sketch brushes #then reliving trying out brushes to feel the vibes #ugh #I just wanna do art guys #this is what happens when you only use photoshop for nearly a decade
