I just realised that Childe's random and seemingly pointless FL activation (the Golden House scene and the courtroom scene) is not rage, it's panic.

That one emotion that he demonstratively lacks.

I kept wondering why did he display cold type of anger in other cases but suddenly went all out in these two situations. That's why.

my biggest takeaway from star rail so far is that i actually cannot stand paimon. not having an unfunny floating screeching creature with a voice that makes my eardrums want to rupture so they may never experience the sorrow of registering the sound waves she emits is such a breath of fresh air.

#i try so hard not to be a hater but idk what it is #ever since the sumeru archon quest i went from finding her tolerable to muting my sound every time she shrieks on screen #the peace and serenity i experienced during that archon interlude quest when she wasn't there....#then when she reappears it's like a jumpscare #i use JP voice over so her voice is 2% easier on the ears than the EN squeaky toy abomination #but it's still so grating #legit think prolonged exposure to paimon should be a breach of the geneva convention #that shit could break a prisoner faster than waterboarding #lock plays star rail

Okay imagine this one-bed trope with stranger!niki whom you spent your whole flight bickering with over the stupidest things and just as you stepped off that plane and thought you weren't gonna have to deal with him again you get hit with a news from the hotel manager regarding the error in the hotels system which has accidentally checked in two guests at the same time in the same room due to their fully booked rooms and just when you were gonna start to argue you saw the stranger whom you've had a unpleasant flight with but what is he doing here you thought "oh no" "keys for room 40" he spoke out "shit this cant be" you thought to yourself feeling a strong rage that eventually broke down to a full on argument but really it changed nothing because you couldn't do anything or even go to another hotel due to the unfortunate rainy weather, you really hadn't known stranger!niki for long but just from a 6 hours flight you've determined hes is on your top list of hated people, As both of you made your way to the room a sudden realisation hits you by noticing that there was just one bed which in this case just calls out for a long stubborn argument between the two of you on takes the floor and who takes the bed the room was really small but the bed on the other hand had taken half of the room size which just made both of you settle down on the bed with a large pillow wall between you guys that you've insisted on, yet somehow niki was roused by the feeling of something hot hitting the nape of his neck he aggressively rubs his eyes to get a clearer view of whats happening and there you are head nuzzled in the nape of neck hot breath hitting the same spot which made him chuckle to himself after 30 minutes straight of nagging him and warning to not cross this wall you've trespassed the wall almost colliding onto nikis body as much as niki wanted to wake you up and tease you seeing you in your current state and how exhausted you looked something in him softened but he told himself its just because he was already as tired as he'd let you keep your position for now as he gently starts patting your chuckling to himself "scary women arent you? You really are something sleep tight or whatever" and as time passes he was already long gone into his own slumber .
