・Eowyn fell in love with you after three weeks of knowing you. But you knew her for much longer
・You had been secretly in love with Eowyn for two years.
・It was so difficult seeing her each day, in court. Her long hair flowing behind her, her beautiful face smiling. There was a constant pang in your chest.
・You weren’t someone with a lot of political power
・But you were someone who had social standing, and power within your magical abilities
・People come to you for a purpose: they have a desire and you help to fulfil it. Some come for luck, others for protection, and some for love. When you first started out, you would take on the love spells, but as you’ve earned your money, now you direct those people to a self-love spell instead.
・You were often insecure about your body, but with your magic, your self-love grew and grew
・When you told her how long you had been in love with her, Eowyn was ... embarrassed? Upset? She thinks those years were wasted. Because you two could have been together.
・Though not angry at you at all, more in herself, for not seeing the signs
・She smells like the herbs you use for protection magic; Clover, Juniper, Rose, and Rosemary.
・Eowyn was a bit apprehensive at first with your magic. She didn’t know what to expect
・And you had a reputation. You weren’t known as ‘good’ or ‘bad’. ‘Light’ or ‘dark,’. There was no separation with you. You were all things. You would deliver justice as you saw fit. But also give to those who you thought needed it.
・Eowyn fell in love with the way you didn’t stand down from a fight. You never let anyone walk over you. Because you had in the past, and you were never going to live like that again.
・Eowyn feels safe with you. And you feel safe with her. Because you know that she is the most loyal person there is.
・She wouldn’t leave you even if the world was tearing itself apart.
・There was a time when Eowyn thought you had put a love spell on her. Because she couldn’t understand her feelings for you. They went so deep and felt so intense.
・She brought it up one day and that was your very first argument.
“I would never, ever, put a spell on you, Eowyn. I couldn’t take away your choice like that.”
・In short, you weren’t mad... just disappointed.
・She couldn’t stop apologising after that. You made her take some time for herself, and to think everything through. Because she was someone you loved dearly, and if she was going to be with you, you wanted her forever.
・It took Eowyn less than a day to know what her heart was telling her. But you made her wait a week before speaking to you.
・After that week was up, she was at your door, flowers in hand and tears in her eyes
“I love you. I will always love you.”
・And you’ve been together ever since
・You make her little spell jars to carry around in her pockets
・And enchant amulets for protection, good luck and wards against evil
・Eowyn makes sure you have every herb, flower and ingredient for your work
・She loves being known as your partner, she is very proud of you and your accomplishments
・Every month when Eowyn has her period, you make her a healing bath and it eases her pains a lot.
・Your size doesn’t matter to her, if anything, Eowyn thinks it’s more attractive

can i get a lil sum sum with soft eddie? maybe he’s telling you all about his favorite movie while you watch it? little behind the scenes facts while you lay with your head in his lap 🥹 you can’t help but smile at how excited he gets over the movie, making you happier than ever
Eddie munson x reader
Warnings: none, fluff. Soft!eddie
Tumblr media
"C'mon babe, I'm putting in the movie!" Edde yelled from across the room.
You were busy getting the snacks together for your weekly movie night. You had one every day of the week if Eddie didn't work too late. Since today is Thursday. That means it's Lord of the Rings night. Or as Eddie refers to it, Tolkien Thursdays. This week, you and him would be watching Return of the King together.
He's seen these movies probably more than you can count. Yet every time he presses play, he's like a little kid watching it for the first time. Eddie knows every single piece of trivia there is to know right down to the actors' shoe size. He's watched all of their interviews and will quote "when will you wear wigs" at any given opportunity. Eddie thinks that interview is the funniest thing to exist.
"I'm coming!" You yelled back, dumping the bag of popcorn in a large bowl.
You rush to join him on the couch, setting the bowl down on the table next to the sodas you brought in earlier.
"Hurry, hurry." He waved
"Eddie, you haven't even pressed play yet," you smile, shaking your head.
"You can't miss a single second, babe, not one." His said eyes trained to the screen in front of him.
You watch him with amusement as the opening title finally appears. Your eyes locked on him while. You couldn't help but think it was so cute how animated he got at times. As the movie went on, Eddie seemed to calm down a little. You just knew if you put your palm to his chest, you could feel his heart beating a mile a minute.
Smiling softly, you move to lay your head in his lap and watched the ending battle. Eddies favorite part besides Denethor tells Pippin to sing for him. He knows the song by heart, and you do too now. You often hear him humming it in the shower after he gets off work.
You felt him jump and gasp as is he doesn't know what's about to happen.
"You paying attention, baby?" His voice sounding panicked. He moves a hand to gently stroke down your face before placing it on the curve of your hip.
You chuckled slightly, "Yea, Ed, I'm watching."
This was the part he looked forward to most. The scene where Eowyn defeats the witch king. You felt him shift as he leaned forward. He's trying to contain his excitement since you're lying on him. Normally, he would be jumping out of his seat, screaming at the top of his lungs.
"I am no man." He whispered, yelled to himself. You don't have to touch him to know he has goosebumps all over. Eddie was always at his happiest at these moments. You heard him repeating his favorite lines to himself all throughout the movie.
"Psst! You awake? " Eddie gently shook your shoulder.
"I'm awake."
He leaned back after getting a handful of popcorn. out stretched his legs, getting comfortable himself.
Did you know Frodo falls down 39 times in this?" He snorted with a mouth full of popcorn.
"He sounds a lot like me." You laugh as he continued telling you little facts here and there. The credits have started rolling, and Eddie still hasn't stopped educating you on his favorite trilogy. You soaked it all in every little detail he told you about. He even taught you how to say "I love you" in Elvish.
"So that's what you've been saying to me this whole time?"
"Yep." Eddie grinned from ear to ear.
You could listen to him ramble on forever. His face lighting up at the mention of Lord of the Rings is enough to keep you asking him about it. His smile was infectious. You never want it to go away. The way you both relaxed into one another during these moments was very special to you both. There was instant peace it felt like all of your worries just melted away.
"Eddie?" You call out to him.
"Yeah?"
"Can you read to me tonight? " Your eyes grow heavy as you turn to look up at him.
"Of course, baby. Ready for bed?" Eddie smiled down at you.
You nod. "Mmhmm."
"Kay, let's get you to bed then." He let out a loud yawn and popped the knuckles on his hands.
Eddie spent the next hour and a half reading The Hobbit to you. Trying your damn best to stay up longer. He was an amazing, great storyteller. He liked to make up little voices for each character as he read out loud to you. Eventually, sleep won and took over you and him.
Eddie fell asleep a little after you with the book tucked under his chin. Your head leaning against his shoulder. This became another part of your routine together. Movie nights and then a book before bed. You loved the way he would get so immersed in them both. Now you really understand why the kids loved having him as their DM. He made it fun and exciting. You didn't think you could fall in love with him more than you already were. But you were wrong. You were very wrong.

Continue - Part 4
Summary: You have been ripped away from your world and tossed into one that is supposed to be pure fiction. You know the stories, how they are supposed to go. Despite your knowledge, you are unable to change the fates of the Fellowship you had grown so close to.
Pairing: Legolas x Modern!Reader
Word Count: 2,124
Warnings/Disclaimers: Typical violence as seen in The Return of the King. Mentions on blood and injuries.
A/N: Just going to say this - I tried with Gimli’s accent. Just hope I did it justice. And yes, there will be a Part 5 and possibly extra parts after that to go beyond the main trilogy.

Your muscles screeched as your blade tore through another enemy, swinging back around to make sure no one was sneaking up on Eowyn. Of course, you had been separated from Legolas once again. Amongst the army of the dead Aragorn had convinced to join you all, it was easy for you to keep tabs on everyone. At least it was until you all merged into the battle alongside Rohan. From there, it was just pure chaos. The shieldmaiden of Rohan accompanied by Merry were the first recognizable people you had come across since the split, and you clung to them like they were your lifeline.
Eowyn was not supposed to die here. She was supposed to continue on, meet Faramir and boom: Happy Ending. Well. As happy of an ending as you could get immediately post-war. And you were damn well going to make sure that happened. You miraculously had managed to muck with the timeline once. This time, you would maintain it.
The screech of an overhead Fellbeast pierced and racked your eardrums, adding more crimson to your skin and clothing. It would have been more worrying had most of the blood been your own. Your head throbbed at the wretched noise, knees wobbling and threatening to give out. You fought to stay upright. Falling now would mean you weren’t getting back up.
The world turned into a blur as you went into a fury of steel. A few of the enemy were attempting to interfere with Eowyn’s fight with the Witch-king, and you stood between them, your sword in one hand and a half sword you had pilfered from a fallen body when your shield lost its structural integrity. You weren’t familiar with dual wielding weapons, but given the circumstances, there was no time like the present. You slashed and hacked at any threat, every now and then swapping things up and using your half sword as a replacement shield. That little move saved your life on more than one occasion.
Just as you turned to Eowyn, her blade slammed into the lord of the Nazgûl’s chest. A shriek erupted from behind its armor. Wait… Wasn’t there supposed to be-
The blast in the wake of the Witch-king’s death hit you square in the chest. No amount of armor was going to absorb that impact. If whatever air you held hadn’t been knocked out of you with the explosion, the hard, uneven ground rushing up to meet your back certainly did. You’d be surprised if you didn’t have a concussion after this.
Ignoring the searing pain in your head and ribs, you attempted to sit up, not with the intention to keep fighting but to see the results of Eowyn’s victory. It didn’t work as well as you had hoped. The horizon swirled and engulfed the dead and unconscious bodies around you which then quickly morphed into the white and grey clouds melting with the blue sky.
“Meleth nin?!”
You knew that voice.
You tried to sit up again, but your arms slid out under the weight, and your head smacked into the dirt. The edges of your vision blurred and darkened.
“Legolas…” you breathed. The words barely left your throat.
Strong arms tenderly levitated you away from the ground. The elf’s warmth sunk past your armor as you tried to focus on his face and stay conscious.
His lips were moving, but all you heard was garbled syllables. Then again, you weren’t too concerned about that. You were more than happy that you had managed to see Legolas’ face again. His warmth was the comfort you wanted in this moment. As much as you pleaded with your body, you were quickly lulled into darkness’ sweet lullaby.
Tumblr media
“Their injuries are minimal, my prince. It won’t be long until they wake,” a woman’s soft, sympathetic voice floated through the haze in your mind.
Tepid fingers tightened around yours.
“Thank you.”
That voice…
“Have faith, Mellon.” This person’s voice was fairly deep with the tiniest bit of gruffness.
“Aye, princeling. They are stronger than you think.” The normally boisterous one added quietly.
The grip on your hand loosened.
“I know… I cannot help the worry that seeps from me. They have not been lost before, and I do not plan on losing them anytime soon.”
Your eyelids felt like lead as you tried to open them to greet your friends and the elf you’ve come to love so dearly. It took a few attempts, and after a collective gasp from your company and the scrapping of wooden chairs on stone, you succeeded in getting halfway there. You could still make out who everyone was even with the fuzzy vision.
“Meleth?”
You flopped your heavy head to the side, your sight clearing enough to see a distraught yet relieved Legolas staring down at you.
“Legolas.” You probably held the record for the universe’s dopiest, most tired grin.
He readjusted how your hands were clasped to graze his lips over your knuckles before settling your linked fingers in his lap as he sat on the side of your bed. The look in his eyes… It was like they only saw you, like he completely forgot anyone else was in the room.
“How are you feeling?”
You wanted to say, “Like I was hit by a dump truck,” but that would have only made sense to you. “More tired than anything.”
Your body was heavy and sore. You figured that was a given. You’d probably feel the full extent of your injuries once the numbness of being unconscious dissipated.
“How long was I out for?”
The pain in the elf’s eyes was alarming to say the least. He didn’t seem to want to answer. Had you been out for days? Weeks, even? Had the battle at the Black Gate already taken place? Where was Frodo and Sam? And-
“A few hours at most.” Aragorn stepped forward, reminding you both that he and Gimli still existed.
Now it was your turn to be hit with a wave of relief. There was still time.
“So… What all happened?” you asked cautiously.
Aragorn held a sigh deep in his heart. “Well… The battle was won. However...”
You only responded with a solemn nod, wanting him to continue. Sparing a quick glance at Legolas, you squeezed his fingers lightly, earning you a thin smile.
“King Théoden has been lost.”
Right. As was supposed to happen. At least he could be with his son now. Éomer will be next to take the throne.
“Eowyn was near death. She is now recovering in the next room over.”
Good… That part remained the same.
“Half of what remained of Haldir’s company have passed. The rest are healing here.”
That one stung a bit. Had you not saved the Marchwarden, what was left of his elves would have returned to Lorien. Then again, how many of their lives were kept intact in Helm’s Deep because they still had their captain?
“Those who can be helped are healing. We have already discussed what will come next.”
The Black Gate.
“And that is?” Had to make sure the plan didn’t change, right?
“We will take those willing and able to the Black Gate and draw Sauron’s eye.” Aragorn met your eyes for that one. “A distraction, if you will. It’s about time we were able to help Frodo and Sam more directly.”
“And you will remain here,” Legolas interjected, soft but firm.
You opened your mouth to argue when Aragorn stopped you. “We have debated this as well. You’ve done your part and done it well. You deserve to rest.”
“Aye!” Gimli agreed, taking a drag off his pipe. “Can’t even sit up right now, can ya? If ya can’t do that, ya definitely can’t fight. Better ya stay here. And when ya can move, ya can still help around here. Plenty of people needin’ healin’.”
Harsh yet oddly comforting and perceptive. You did want to be useful, to help everyone. Maybe this is what you needed to do. Not like you were being given a choice, but it was still something.
Your lips pursed in a miniature pout. Legolas clasped your hand more, apprehension covering his face.
Sucking in a deep breath and letting out a dramatic sigh, you answered. “I don’t have a say in this, do I?”
The trio just shook their heads, expecting this to lead to some kind of argument.
“Can I at least see you all off?” Aragorn opted to counter, and you stopped him. “And no, I won’t use the excuse ‘if I can stand, I can fight’ so that I can come with you.”
Gimli barked out a laugh, “IF ya can stand, that is.”
“We’ll see about that,” you challenged.
Aragorn just shook his head and tried to hide his grin, not wanting to encourage this behavior as much as he enjoyed it.
Your elf, on the other hand, had his lips curled into a bright smile. A portion of his earlier worry had lifted from his shoulders.
Tumblr media
By the time preparations were completed, you were on your feet, ready to meet with your companions. The pain was still coursing through you, but you could bear it at least to see everyone off. Apparently, you were not the only one wanting to do the very same thing.
You knew there would be a crowd with all the soldiers gathering. But to this extent? Well, you probably should have anticipated that all their loved ones would be there too.
It was near impossible to spot anyone through the sea of people. You wound up on the stoop of someone’s home just to see up and over to the front lines. Haldir was the first to come into view, followed by Aragorn. You could only assume Gimli was there by the way the two kept looking down as though they were conversing with someone. But where was-
“Meleth? What are you doing up there?” Legolas asked softly with an amused edge to his tone.
You nearly jumped out of your skin despite his gentle nature. “Legolas,” you chided cheerfully, taking the hand he offered. “You really have a knack for sneaking up on people and scaring them.”
He chuckled as he guided you off the stoop and away from the crowd. “It would seem so, though I rarely hold such intentions.”
Stopping in a small alcove in the building, Legolas spun around to face you, taking both of your hands in his. “How are you feeling now that you have had some rest?”
You smiled softly in an attempt to alleviate the worry creasing his forehead. “I’ve been better, but it’s nothing I can’t handle.”
Figures he would frown at that. You didn’t want to lie to him, but you also didn’t need him to worry about you when there were more important things to focus on… Like the fate of the entirety of Middle Earth.
“Hey now, don’t look at me like that.” You freed a hand and gently cupped his cheek, gracing your thumb over the apple of it. “I’ll be fine. Back to normal before you know it.”
With a light sigh, he pressed his forehead to yours, relinquishing your other hand to envelope you in a tight hug. “I know, Meleth nin. You are a strong willed person. I doubt there is anything in this realm or yours that would keep you down for long.”
“Well, that’s one way to call me ‘stubborn’,” you chuckled. Your little joke did at least steal a smile from the elf.
“I am still surprised you are not attempting to persuade me to allow you to join us,” he teased.
“Nah, you all are right.” Your hand left his cheek to settle on his shoulder instead. “It’s better that I stay here. Just…” That’s when your smile fell to be replaced by anxiety. “Just please, be careful out there.”
Now, it was Legolas’ turn to nestle your face in his palms. “I promise I will return to you. Alive.”
The extra emphasis did help quell some of the darker what-ifs swimming around in your mind. It managed to tug one corner of your mouth up. “Preferably unharmed, if you can help it.”
“I cannot guarantee that, though I will try.”
His eyes flickered to your lips in the conversational pause before he tilted his head, causing your noses to brush.
“Wait.”
With your hand on his chest, the prince pulled back but not so much as to lose contact. Confused at first, he met your gaze. It took him a moment, but he seemed to understand. You were brought into an even closer embrace with his face buried in your hair.
Wait until you are back.

What about Aragorn x witch reader? The night of Helms Deep battle she helps Aragorn put on his armor and get ready and she tells Aragorn she will keep him safe and assure him that they will survive? Aragorn was everyone's emotional support that night the man needs someone to do the same for him🥺
This request is so cool! Let’s do this!
Tumblr media
You were a bit of an odd case amongst the court of Théoden. The man had been ill, years prior to everything that was going on now. You had saved his life with an unconventional remedy and the man started asking you for more assistance. Or at least this was the story everyone was told. Your days amongst his court were typically very pleasant though. This however was one of the worst days of your life. The man that you had spent multiple years helping had betrayed you and stuck you in the dungeons.
You paced when you were bored and when your legs were too tired you sat. Éowyn was the only thing keeping you alive, you being too frail now to even function. Fucking Grima allowed Saruman to seep into Théoden’s mind, poisoning his boy and soul.
You laid on the floor, clinging to the only crack of sunlight you could find, unaware that Gandalf was there now with the future heroes of Middle Earth. You coughed, sick from the lack of basic human needs and struggling to remain alive. In one last poor attempt to fight you said “help”. You weren’t expecting an answer.
Gandalf turned, looking around. “Is there something wrong Gandalf?” Legolas asked. “Do you have a wizard in your court?” Gandalf asked Théoden who was now well and alive. Théoden’s eyes widened and Éowyn took off in the direction of the dungeons. The group all followed her, finding you barely breathing. “My gods.” Théoden gaped at the sight of you chained to the wall, eyes tired, skin pale. “Get this woman some water!” Gandalf demanded. A guard ran over with a pitcher of water. “It’s Grima he let--” “We know...” “Saruman has betrayed us all” “We know.” Éowyn soothed, you leaning against her. “I’m so sorry Lady Y/n.” Théoden said. “I should apologize to you my king... I let you fall into the hands of Grima, I should have been more vigilant.” You muttered. Aragorn looked in your eyes, you meeting his gaze. You seemed exhausted just by the mere act of standing.
“Sir Aragorn can you take her to the-” Aragorn needed no further instruction, lifting you up. He walked to the healers, you still in his arms. “I’ve seen you before.” you muttered, groggily. “I do not recall when we have met.” Aragorn said. “It was not a meeting... It was a vision.” You muttered. Aragorn tensed. “You are Isildur’s-” “No. You’re mistaken, my lady.” He halted.
Hours passed before you joined everyone in the main hall again. “Lady Y/n, it is good to see you recovered.” Théoden said as you walked. Aragorn was shocked at the sight of you. No longer were you frail, no longer were you pale and close to death, you were beautiful. Your hair was pulled back but you were a dress similar to Éowyn but it was blue, reminding Aragorn of Arwen. You stood up straight, bowing to the king. “Now for a proper introduction. This is Lady Y/n L/n of Rohan. She is our court mage.” Theoden introduced. “I do not deserve such a warm welcome your majesty.” you said softly. “Nonsense. She’s more of a daughter to me than an assistant.” Théoden said. “You speak more kindly than I deserve.” You muttered. “Y/n, where is this coming from?” Eowyn asked. “I should’ve done more than what I did to keep Grima away from the both of you.” you muttered. Aragorn noticed your eyes, sad as they looked forward. “My dear girl, an army couldn’t have swayed my way once Saruman took control.” He said.
You still seemed remorseful, looking down. “Lady Y/n, it is an honor to finally meet the lady of the lake.” Gandalf said, Legolas gaping. You turned. “You are the Lady of the Lake?” Legolas asked. “What has earned you that title I wonder?” Gimli asked. Aragorn was equally as confused as the dwarf on the title. “You know not of the lady of the lake--” “Shh!” You hushed. Footsteps came from behind the door before it opened, two terrified looking children stepping into the hall. “These two children rode in from a village in the west.” A guard said. You frowned. “Then we are in need of evacuation.” you said. You kept a stern face, Aragorn raising a brow until you looked the little girl in the eyes and kneeled to her level.
“What is your name?” You asked, your voice soft and expression softening. “Freda- my name is Freda.” She whimpered. You brushed the hair from her face. “The children will remain with Lady Éowyn, my lord I request that we-” “We will send our citizens to Helm’s Deep.” Théoden said. You nodded. “You will help the citizens--” “No my lord.”  you halted. He rose a brow, as did Aragorn and Legolas. “I charge with the men, you need protection outside of a sword.” you stated. He sighed. “I cannot ask this of you. It is like letting my own child go out there.” He said. “Nor can I ask you to lead towards death, for it is like sending my father to his doom.” you said simply. He sighed, Aragorn looking at you. “Then you charge with us.” He said. You nodded, turning on your heel.
The next time Aragorn saw you, you were in armor, your hair pulled back out of your face. You seemed quiet, watching the new addition to the group in silence. You rode next to Aragorn, not speaking as you listened to Gimli’s rather odd tales of home. “So your title.” Aragorn started. You looked over, nodding. “You’re referring to this ‘lady of the lake’ business I suppose.” you shrugged. “What did earn you that name?” Gimli asked. You chuckled, looking ahead at Théoden as he rode. You glanced at your wrists for a moment, them being covered by your vambraces.
“I was almost dead. Goblins had stormed my village and nearly took my life. They left me for dead in a lake not far from it.” You muttered. Theoden looked at you with a sad look. “Something in me wanted to keep fighting. It wanted to stay alive.” Aragorn noticed that look in your eyes, it being far off and pained. “So when they least expected it, when they were removing the sword from my brother’s corpse all they saw was a woman with glowing white eyes emerge from the waters before they were struck down and killed with my powers.” You explained. Aragorn looked at the sword on your side. “Was that your brother’s then?” He asked. “Yes.” you nodded. “How did you end up with Lord Theoden?” Gimli asked. You smiled kindly to the dwarf. “I went unconscious after using my abilities. He found me, asking if I wished to stay with his niece. I said no after first but not long after he found me he fell ill. My mother taught me the ways of medicine and I nursed him back to health. After helping him his villagers started coming to me. After two years, I agreed to help him.” You answered. “You seem happy here.” Aragorn said. You looked at Éowyn who was smiling at something a villager said. “I am.” you answered.
Aragorn liked that smile. It was beautiful, it reminded him of home. “I know of an elven woman who is skilled with water magic.” Aragorn said. “I stayed with the woman you are speaking of.” You said. He blinked. “Arwen Undomiel is the woman you are speaking of, correct?” you asked. He nodded slowly, raising a brow. “Before I lived in the village I stayed with the elves. I spent most of my time in Lothlorien but I also spent some of my time in Rivendell, learning the art of healing from Elrond.” You said. “Why not stay with your family?” Gimli asked. “Power without control is a dangerous thing sir Gimli.” you said. “You trained with us?” Legolas asked. “Yes. I have indeed met your father. Great man. Stern. But great.” you said. Legolas seemed to tense up at the mention of his father. “There are many strange things about you Y/n.” Aragorn stated. “I know. But strange and mysterious is more fun that way, don’t you think?” You asked, clearly amused by the man’s confusion. He gave you a small smile, your heart doing a small backflip as you looked at him.
“Are you close with Lady Arwen?” you asked. “She is practically my sister.” He admitted. You looked over confused. “Elrond raised me.” he said. You rose a brow. “Then how have we never crossed paths if you were in the same places that I was.” you asked. “I am much older than I appear, my lady.” He said. You looked at the man confused. “I am 87.” He said, you blinking with surprise. “You have seen many winters my lord when I have only seen 25.” you said. “You are wise for a woman who is so young.” He said, smiling. Again your heart pounded in your ears. “I have seen many things in this world that provided me with wisdom.” you told him, smiling at him. He felt this strange feeling in his chest.
You noticed a bird in the sky, sticking your arm out so it would perch. It landed, you looking at it as you fed it a cracker from your pack. “There are enemies nearby.” you said. Aragorn rose a brow. “You’ve kept a sentinel?” He asked. “Yes I have.” You answered before lifting your arm, the hawk flying away. You drew your sword, Theoden riding off to the side instructing the men to protect and fight as best as they could. You all rode away from the group, deterring the enemy away from the refugees.
Aragorn immediately noticed you abandoning the horse you rode in on, sending it back to the group before you swung your sword, cutting down an orc. You fought hard, Aragorn noticing your skill. But the large thing he noticed was your habit of keeping close to Théoden. By no means was the man unskilled for battle, he was fighting very well. You though, had this raw energy of fighting that seemed untouchable.
You stabbed an enemy close to you, noticing a warg hurdling towards Aragorn before you stuck out your hand, an invisible force knocking it back out of the way of him. It seemed annoyed by your intervention, standing back up. “Shit.” you breathed as it prepared to charge. It sprinted forward, readying your blade before someone blocked for you, attacking the warg before it could hit you. You looked at him, nodding as a thank you before another warg bit your arm, dragging you as it ran. Aragorn frowned, about to stab it before he realized that his boot had latched itself to the saddle that an orc rode on. “CUT IT FREE!” you yelled, smacking the warg to make it let go. It was in vain as Aragorn made one last attempt to do as he was told before the warg launched itself off of the cliff.
You managed to get free, cutting the loose leather strap of the boot away, pulling Aragorn close. “What are you-” “Trust me” was the last thing Aragorn heard.
Your bodies collided with the waters, it feeling like concrete when you landed. You both washed up on shore, you being a bit more lucid than Aragorn who was still unconscious. “Spirits -o nature hear nin plea. Help nin help nin núr. Help nin help hon núr (spirits of nature, hear my plea, please help me help my people. Help me help him)” You whispered, your voice traveling on the wind before you closed your eyes. You felt something hanging over you, you looking up at a horse… the horse you sent back to the group. You pulled yourself up by the reins, lifting Aragorn up. He groggily climbed onto the horse, you doing the same before it rode on.
You chose to rest while riding, Aragorn slowly waking up. He was leaning against something. He leaned back, his vision slowly returning before seeing you, slightly hunched over as you slept. He was grateful for you. You had saved his life taking most of that fall and he had been much appreciative of that. He noticed that peaceful look on your face, your eyes closed, hair damp from the waters of the river and cheeks slightly rosy from the cold. He held you closer, providing his body heat to keep you warm and you tensed up at first.
It wasn’t until dusk that you actually woke up, Aragorn holding the reins to the horse. You leaned up after realizing that you had fallen asleep against him. “You’re awake.” He noticed. “Yes….” you muttered before noticing something. You leaned forward, looking at the horizon and frowning. You took the reins from Aragorn, making the horse ride faster. “Y/n, What are you doing?” He asked. “There are forces coming from the west, we don’t have much time before they reach Helm’s Deep!” you said.
So you rode, clearly worried. Aragorn couldn’t stop looking at you, something was different about you. Maybe it was the fact that you were no longer a frail woman who needed assistance to even do so much as walk. Maybe it was the fact that you were so determined to save your people from a potentially hopeless battle. Aragorn found himself admiring you.
You rode through the lands, encouraging your horse to go as fast as it could before arriving at the gates. Éowyn was overwhelmed when she saw you, her hugging you on sight. “You’re alive! I knew it!” She said. “Where is Lord Théoden?” you asked. “He is in the hall, Y/n I don’t think he--” “Forces are coming and fast. We must fight, we do not have a choice.” you said before walking past her. You shoved the doors open, walking into the hold. “Lady Y/n!” Théoden gasped, hugging you. “The people are in danger my lord, we must fight. We have no choice” You said. “We do not have the men-” “Then we must call for aid my lord, we have to do something!” you said, urging him to fight. “Y/n, you act as if we have resources to do so.” he said. “We do, we can ask for Gondor’s aid!” you said. “Gondor!?” “Yes my lord! If we call for aid-” “Calling Gondor would be useless. They will do nothing!” He said. “My lord if we fight with only our men we risk leaving them all to die.” You said. He let out a frustrated sigh. “If you do not wish to call for aid then I could-” “No.” He halted you. You frowned. “Sire, our people need protection, if you would just let me-” “I will not allow you to do that Y/n, do not press this any further.” Théoden halted. “Sire-” “I REFUSE Y/N, NOW STOP!” He yelled. You swallowed hard, Aragorn looking at you as you pushed past him and walked out.
You started taking off your arm braces, Aragorn walking after you. “Y/n, there may yet be hope.” He said. You shook your head. “So long as it is only our men that charge, there is no hope for survival sir Aragorn.” You breathed, braiding your hair. He frowned, putting a hand on your shoulder. “There is still hope Y/n, if you would trust me.” He said. You looked in his eyes, before looking down. “There is one last thing that we can do my lord…” you said with a sigh. You looked at your wrists, the markings of chains embedded on your skin. “What is that?” He asked. You looked at him and shook your head. “I am… Not what you believe me to be.” You told him. “What is it that you mean?” He asked. “My lord I am not in Théoden’s court as a healer or a sorceress.” you said. He raised a brow. “Then what are you there for?” He asked. “I am a weapon.” you answered.
He looked at you. “I am not to use my abilities unless it is life or death for it may kill me.” You admitted. Aragorn frowned. “Then no, we will not use that.” He said. “We have no choice, if it is my life for hundreds then so be it.” you said. “I cannot lose you!” He said. “Why? Because you care for me!? I care too much for my people than to sacrifice their winning chance because you decided to feel something for me.” you snapped. He sighed, closing his eyes. “If we lose you, who’s to say that sacrifice would not be in vain?” He asked. You sighed. “I must try Aragorn. Even if it does kill me.” you said softly. He closed his eyes and you put a hand to his cheek.
“Im am sorrui an what cin lothron lose Aragorn. But know i whatever does happen. Im ceri- care an cin. (I am sorry for what you may lose Aragorn. But know that whatever does happen... I do care for you.)” You said softly. He opened his eyes, looking at you. “I should find the armory.” you said, clearing your throat and leaving.
Hours had past, the sun was falling on the horizon and war was creeping closer. You had remained in the armory, watching children who shouldn’t be prepping to die, prepare for death. You looked over, Aragorn putting on his armor in silence. You walked over, tightening a strap he couldn’t reach. He cleared his throat. “Are you really… going out there?” he asked. “Unless a miracle happens then I will make whatever sacrifice I have to.” you muttered. Aragorn looked down, clearly saddened by this. First he lost a woman who was practically his sister by sailing away to the Undying Lands. Now he was losing someone all over again.
You heard a loud horn, looking up confused. “That is no orc horn.” Legolas noticed. You rushed off with Aragorn, walking out to see elves. You paused, looking at the sight in front of you. “Who… called for aid?” You asked, looking at the elven general. “I bring word from Elrond of Rivendell. An alliance once existed between elves and men. Long ago we fought and died together.” Haldir said. Aragorn smiled. “We come to honor that allegiance.” Haldir added. “Mae govannen, Haldir. (Welcome, Haldir)” Aragorn greeted. He hugged the man, earning a small smile from you. “You are most welcome!” Aragorn said clearly relieved by the man’s presence alone.
Morale boosted greatly as you continued to prepare for war. Théoden found you putting on your breastplate. “Y/n… a word.” He said. You turned around. “Yes, my lord?” you asked. “I apologize for yelling at you earlier, it was wrong of me.” He said. He noticed you didn’t put on your vambraces. “Are you planning on using your abilities?” he asked. You swallowed. “...I saw those forces Théoden… There’s too many… We will lose.” you muttered. “...Do what you think is best.” He said after a long silence. You looked up. “Sire-” “you have always done what was best for our people. You’ve fought strongly and bravely and when I said you were like my daughter, I meant it.” Théoden said. “Sire… Do you think I should use my abilities?” you asked. “I think you should only use them in a moment you think it’s truly needed.” He said. You nodded before he walked out.
You walked to the wall, standing next to Aragorn. “You seem a bit more confident.” you muttered, looking at the man as he adjusted his boot. “Indeed. We have more aid.” he said. “Aragorn I..” you sighed and shook your head, him raising a brow. “Y/n if you wish to say something I’d advise you to say it before we possibly die.” he said. You rolled your eyes. "Great job on boosting the morale sir Aragorn." You muttered. "Speak now or forever hold your peace." He said sarcastically. You sighed. "... You've been pleasant to be around. And I'm sorry for snapping at you earlier. I want you to know that whatever happens out there… I'm glad that I am fighting next to you. And I'm glad that I knew you." You said to him. Aragorn rose, looking at you. You faced the battlefield, trying to ignore the gaze of the man.
Course that became more difficult to ignore when Aragorn pulled you into a kiss. You sunk into it, your heart beating in your ears as you nearly collapsed into the man's arms. "I am glad to have you with me." He said softly. You nodded slowly before he walked off to investigate the other groups on the walls.
Rain poured around you as twilight finally set and you could see the forces approaching. Aragorn soon came back to a place on the wall, looking at you as you stared at the forces gathering and then the chain tattoo on your wrists. Aragorn looked at you before taking your hand. You looked at him and then turned back to the battlefield. You had a dagger in your freehand, you looking at your wrist and then the battlefield again. "....Aragorn?" You muttered. He looked over. "Hmm?" He asked. "Thank you for being here." You said softly. He smiled and you looked back at the battlefield. You slid the dagger back into your holster, looking at the orcish army before you.
Perhaps you would live to see another day.

Oh no, all the hobbits Aragorn.
Tumblr media
Aragorn x reader.
Request for Thatfoolishhuman 'I would love an Aragorn imagine! Could you do one where the Mc is a healer (like, she can make wounds disappear with her hands.) and she patches Aragorn up after a battle and he falls in love with how gentle she is.'
Summary: Imagine being apart of the fellowship, being Gandalf's niece , you learn some stuff from him whether he liked it or not. Basically following the fellowship in secret from Rivendell, until you slipped up.
A/n: Arwen and Aragorn aren't together in this imagine, he still grew up with Elrond. A pitch is a piggyback ride it's the original name for it. Totally didn’t make a meme for this
Word count:2253
Warnings: I'm British, so spelling for certain words differs, such as grey, colour, among other words, don't be mad please.
Growing up around a wizard, especially Gandalf the grey, you learnt a lot. He just left books laying around, books full of spells. Of course Gandalf wasn't really related to you, but he might as well have been. Your parents travelled a lot, so you ended up being around Gandalf most of your childhood.
Gandalf had taught you some basic spells, nothing major, healing spells mostly, children are clumsy. It was no secret your parents didn't like you running through the forests, saying it was too dangerous , general protectiveness, you guess. Many times they proved that they were right, many times you had fallen into traps left for animals. You would've probably bled out, if it wasn't for Gandalf.
Still living with your parents, no longer a child, not knowing what you wanted to do, you parents wanted you to go work in the local bakery, not wanting you to travel around like they did, dangerous times with black riders frequently on the road and such. But of course you didn't want a simple life.
Again your parents had left on business, this time you didn't go to Gandalf's house, you had maybe listened in, when going to visit Frodo , only to see Samwise Gamgee listening under the window. You know how it goes, Gandalf caught him, not you.
You ended up following Frodo, Sam , Merry and Pippin. Life is boring, might as well take a risk, you longed for adventure, like the mister Bilbo.
Surprisingly the elves had not even noticed you at Rivendell, actually not surprising Gandalf had brought you there many times, so they probably thought you were with him. You had waited in the trees outside Rivendell's gates, for them.
You hadn't know what was actually going on , or whether there would actually be a quest, but to your lucky there was. Not really lucky for Boromir though... soon enough Frodo and Gandalf had emerged along with 7 others.
You weren't noticed for a long time considering, Frodo's fault completely, when Frodo had fallen down the mountain in the snow, you had been hiding not so great in the snow, and of course Frodo landed facing you. While Aragorn had rushed back to Frodo, Frodo's face was laced with confusion as he stared at you.
"Y/n...?" Frodo had stood up, not realising he had dropped the ring, you rising with your backpack and coat one, with the snow littering your hair.  Aragorn had just stared too moving towards Frodo, carefully, the others travelling down to see what was going on.
"Oh, Frodo!  What are you doing here? I was just out to get some milk for my dinner." Standing calf deep in snow, freezing, yet your facing burning with embarrassment.
"I was wondering when you'd reveal yourself." Gandalf chuckling , of course he knew you were there, but what you didn't know was that Gollum had been not even three feet away from you..  Gandalf had turned back grabbing the ring from Boromir and launching it at Frodo, like he was Michael Jordan.
"Gandalf who is this?" Gimli of all of the fellowship had questioned you, he wasn't afraid to speak his mind.
"Y/n is my niece , now come along we don't have all day."
Thus, you were no longer a stalker , but part of the fellowship. Time had passed and you had lost your uncle, but it didn't feel right, you couldn't process his death, so you pretended he just slipped on some bread and was at home resting.
Soon enough you were all heading for Lothlórien, without realising it, you had stayed close to Legolas at this moment, mostly to bug him.
"If elves are so great, then how didn't you notice me? For all you know I could've been watching you pee, I wasn't but I could've been.  While you was sleeping I could've chopped your hair off and made a wig. Why do you look like your are apart of a dance routine? Why do you float? How does it feel to have a dick for a father?" Rambling on , you are surprised that Legolas doesn't whoop you, he could've, you wouldn't have been able to do much, you aren't the best person at defence.
You couldn't tell if you was annoying Legolas or not, but Gimli had kept smirking your way, as he stomped through the forest.
"Hey, Legolas? "
"Yes, y/n?" Legolas had sighed , he much preferred Gimli antics.
"Can I have a pitch?" But he had just stared at you, frowning, huffing you had walking around Legolas so you was next to Aragorn. Only for your ankle to roll, making you fall into Aragorn, it didn't necessarily hurt but. Aragorn had grabbed you and placed you back onto your feet.
"Um, Aragorn? You know you much better that Legolas..? Can I have a pitch?" You were undoubtedly attracted Aragorn, come on, he looks like a God. Fuck Thor. He didn't even answer just knelt down, allowing you to grip around his neck, and grab your calf's. Carrying on walking with ease.
Raising your eyebrows and smirking at Legolas behind you, he just never showed any emotion, except in that scene with Haldir , where he just smirks creepily in the background.
You weren't particularly close to anyone in the fellowship other than Frodo and Sam. But when Boromir died, yes it was sad, but where did the hobbits go? You had stayed close to Aragorn as he fought down the Uruk-hai as you hid in a tree. Before lifting you down, rushing to dying Boromir.
"They took the little ones,"
"Be still."
"Frodo! Where is Frodo?"
"I let Frodo go."
"Then you did what I could not. I tried to take the Ring from him."
Kneeling next to Boromir, "The hobbits Aragorn, but we shall get them back." Boromir was too far gone to be saved, the wrong brother died sadly. Boromir eyes had met yours once more , as he smiled , before he finished his speech to his king.
After Boromir was sent home, the fellowship was down to just four, rushing after Merry and Pippin.  "We must hurry! The hobbits Aragorn!" Five minutes of running , and you were already getting a stitch.  This was no time for jokes.
Soon enough Gandalf was alive, and Aragorn was dead, as Théoden had lead you all to helms deep. You had seen Eowyn, oh how heartbroken she was after she found out Aragorn was dead, that bitch knew him for what five minutes, she was already grinding up on him.
You were witch, she was a princess, obviously Aragorn was going to prefer her. Soon enough Aragorn practically marching into helms deep, injured but alive , what's with all the faked deaths.
After Aragorn had done his big speech and everyone had left to get ready for war, you had stayed behind obviously, you didn't want to confront him in front of everyone. "Uh, Aragorn?" You were unsure of yourself, honestly, you can't have a crush on a king. You swear kings have bad hair, lucky Aragorn didn't , look at the British royal family.. now that's embarrassing.
Aragorn had turned Aragorn to face you, waiting for you to speak, he definitely didn't fall from heaven, the Valar decided to test him by shoving him off a cliff.
"Um, I was wondering if I c-could help with those wounds, um, I didn't know if you needed help?" You were sure that your face was probably flushed red, it would be surprising if he could even understand you , as you stumbled over your own words.
Aragorn had nodded , before sitting down near by.  Grabbing the king foil out of your bag , along with other healing herbs, Aragorn had removed his jacket and undone some of the buttons on his tunic. Bringing a stool in front of Aragorn for you to sit.  You weren't about to chew up the kings foil,  tearing it up before trying to gently apply it to the huge gash across his chest.
A small groan had emerged from his lips as you had placed a piece kings foil to the gash too harshly. "Sorry." Looking into Aragorn's bright eyes , for a spilt second before going back to gently placing the kings foil. Aragorn stops you , by grabbing your wrist , not with force, making you look back up at him.
"Do not be sorry, I just fell off a cliff, I've been through worse." A smile reassuring smile plant on his face, but you can only think what is worse than falling off a cliff.
"Okay, sorry, I mean I'm not sorry, you are very intelligent or a king, there's warg! Let's go fight our enemy on the edge of a cliff. Um, actually that's embarrassing because I fell down a well because a owl scared me, I was stuck down there for hours, and then Gandalf found me and used a bucket to get me out. I had to sit in the bucket while he pulled it up."
Aragorn had let go of your wrist , allowing you to continue as you spoke, "you have not changed."
"Pardon?" Aragorn was smiling down at you as your eyebrows scrunched together.
" Last week I saw leaf , hit you in the back of your neck, you jumped three feet in the air." Your face flushed again, as you tried to contain a smile, as Aragorn laughed at you.
"I did not, that was not a leaf, it was a snake!"
"A green round snake, I believe you , y/n" you had stopped applying the kings foil, to put your head between your nerves , to hide your face in embarrassment . "It was a deformed snake."
"Last month, you skidded in mud and fell flat on your back, when Legolas put his hand on your shoulder briefly. Or when you kicked Boromir's cock when he was try-" sitting back up to look at Aragorn.
"You are right, next time it will be you that I will kick." Aragorn could not have shut his legs quicker, making you laugh at him, "I'll have to start wearing a shield."
"Never know when I'll strike, your balls are going to be deformed." Aragorn had gasped at you, as you brought your hand other his wound beginning to heal him as you chanted quietly.
"Such foul language, Gandalf would not approve." Looking up to Aragorn with a small smile, placing your other hand on his shoulder softly, to stop him from moving.  Really the healing didn't take very long, the cut left a blood stain though.  "Stay there," (or you get unprofessional neutering.) Grabbing the water pouch from your bag, and piece of cloth.
Before returning to sit in front of Aragorn with the damp cloth, wiping off the dried blood gently.  You couldn't help but feel like you had done something good today, you got to heal ,clean an very attractive man stopping his wound from getting infected and him dying.
Plus,he's Aragorn, who wouldn't want to touch his chest.   As you finished, you had look down for your pouch, only to see how blood his hands were. Lifting his hand up to examine it, no way you were a doctor. " How have you not gotten infection? All that Orc blood going into your open wounds." Again having to heal all the  little cuts and slices on his hands.
It was no secret to Aragorn that he had developed a like for you, from the moment Frodo saw you sticking out in the snow like a mole heap.
“Tis the best you are going to be, after this battle you will covered again. Legolas probably glide through here, any minute asking where his beloved is.” Both of you standing up, grabbing your bag, you had leant up to press a kiss to Aragorns cheek, before turning away to head to where the woman and children were, Gandalf’s orders.
Aragorn had stopped you again, by the shoulder, causing you to turn back around. “Y/n, thank you. May I ask for something else?” Aragorns eyes looking into your e/c ones
softly, you had nodded. “Would you accept me courtship?” You had just pressed your lips slow onto his before pulling away.
The door was quickly opened “ARAGORN!” Legolas glided into the room, rushing towards you and Aragorn. Sighing “your beloved is here,” Legolas was stood between both of you, you had to walk around him, to wrap your arms around Aragorn, briefly embracing, before pulling away.
Legolas just stared, “I’m not hugging you too, leg a less, that’s what your name would be if you had no legs, because your legs aragorn”

Faramir - Falling in Love
Word Count: 1,265
Faramir x Fem!Reader (Witch) - LOTR
Requested: by my dumbass
A/N:
Y/N - Your Name
Additional Notes: Inspired by @meganlpie ‘s oneshot “disappearance”
Bc that cinderella au with Faramir (+ the rest of the lotr characters) was too wholesome, I needed to contribute to another one of the same vibe. Also, it’s in the works, but I just might make some oneshots that are my own oc! This was one of them but i obviously changed it from my oc to reader (hence why she is a witch). Lastly, enjoy Gandalf being a matchmaker! Anyway, hope you guys like this!

Aragorn’s crowning ceremony had ended, and the city on Minas Tirith was once again reunited with their King. Filled with happiness, the entire city celebrated; Aragorn had declared the entire day to celebrate peace, and shall henceforth do nothing but celebrate the victory over darkness and gather in the light. Everyone was happy that day.
As the day grew weary, there was a feast and a ball held for festivities. The Fellowship and a few other important companions all a part of the One Ring’s demise had gathered with Aragorn in the halls of Gondor. The table long and gracious, the food was almost eaten by the four hobbits themselves, but luckily there was going to be more to come, and the new King had kept his promise for the four darling hobbits once the ball started. The halls of Gondor were then filled with wonderful music and celebratory dances. Smiling faces and of course, for the hobbits, food that even made Pippin jump in excitement. Y/N smiled at the very sight. Finally, peace had been restored, it felt nothing like she’s ever felt before.
She watched over from the corner of the party; Aragorn and Arwen dancing together, even Frodo and Sam enjoying the tunes as they danced too. Merry and Pippin feasting on some food at the tables and Legolas and Gimli were on their way with another drinking game, with Eomer and Eowyn on opposing teams helping the elf and dwarf of their team to win.
“I see you are not dancing with the rest of the party,” Gandalf said, all of the sudden, appearing behind her. His white robes glowing ever so lightly, as he settled beside her. She looked up at the Mithrandir with a small smile. “A witch always observes.” “Ah yes. Observing every step she takes.” He smiled back down at the young witch, joining in with humouring herself. Although, Gandalf’s eyes found themselves across the room beyond Y/N, to see a lonely Faramir also observing. “You’re not the only observer beyond these festivities.” She looked up at the Great Wizard with confusion; a brow furrowed and her head titled slightly.
His eyes flicked on behind her, and she turned around, seeing the lonely Prince of Ithilien. A small blush crept on her face as the two made eye contact and she shyly waved. Looking back at Gandalf, she knew exactly what he was doing. “Gandalf!” He knew of the young witch’s crush on the certain Prince, and thought this was a good time to humour Y/N but also entertain himself. “It is not common that a witch falls in love.” She looked at him almost shocked and quickly blushing madly in embarrassment. “How did you know about that?” She glanced down at her shoes but tried to focus on the festivities around them. “Young fools in love never realize how much they are in love. Even Peregrin Took could tell between the two of you.” She nervously swallowed “Between the two?” She looked at Gandalf with hopeful eyes. All he had to do was smile, as he saw Faramir quickly approaching them. Following his glance she turned around, being met with Faramir’s tall figure. Gandalf took the opportunity to walk off, and leave the fools alone.
“My Lady.” “Your Highness.” They gave a bow to each other, only to meet each other’s eyes and grow a smile—the formalities still fresh but ridiculous to both. “Faramir.” The young witch broke the formalities as the two shared a chuckle. “Y/N.” Oh did she love the way her name sounded on his lips. “I see you’re not enjoying the celebration.” She looked at him with a confused look, meeting his ocean eyes. “And what makes you say this?” She quipped as she crossed her arms. “Well, you’re not dancing. Or drinking. Or...eating.” Faramir stretched the last point, his attention going from the drinking game between the Elf and the Dwarf to the two hobbits going through the food at one of the tables. Y/N had also turned her attention to the hobbits at the food table, and a smile grew on her rose lips. Pippin stuffing his face with more pieces of chicken and Merry just about to dig into another roasted lamb. Glancing back at the woman, Faramir continued; holding out his hand and bowing slightly. “Care for a dance, my lady?”
A pink blush spread across the charming woman’s cheeks as she quickly leans her hand into his, looking behind her nervously. She met with Gandalf’s gaze as he smiled and nodded, and that was the green light she needed. Turning back to the handsome prince she glimmered—hand sliding into his as he gently took her soft hands and brought her to the dance floor. The two got into position quickly, smiles meeting each other and seeing familiar faces start to join the pair. Faramir wasn’t always the best dancer, nor was Y/N, so the two had more enjoyment of just being in each other’s company rather than focusing on their fancy routine.
The pair danced and talked, feeling their already strong bond become bigger and closer than ever. The music of the night kept going, and both Faramir and Y/N found themselves retiring from dancing for a while to meet each other in the courtyard of Minas Tirith. The beautiful moon shone down on the white city, and for once in a very long time, the tree still sprouted the white petals in the air. Both had each others’ hand in hand as they walked to the tree. The feeling of Faramir’s hand in hers felt so natural—pure. Like it was meant to be. Like it... was love.
So this is love. Settling just beside the tree, the pair bathed in the white moonlight. Faramir finished retelling a story from his childhood, about him and Boromir, and it successfully made the maiden laugh.
That laugh was music to Faramir’s ears; something that he could listen to forever. It felt right being with Y/N—he knew it in his heart that it was love. So this is love. This is what makes life, divine, the prince thought. “What?” Y/N’s soft voice echoed in the empty courtyard as she caught Faramir staring at her face. “You glow in the moonlight.” He said all dreamily. Y/N smiled, failing to contain the blush rushing to her cheeks and the smile forming on her rose lips. Faramir pulled her closer, gently laying his hands on her waist as he knows now, that she was the key to heaven. Looking back up, she felt the certain prince bring her closer, and soon enough, his lips descended onto hers; those rose-coloured lips soft as a cloud.
Y/N could feel her heart grow wings as Faramir kissed her—the moment their lips touched. She could feel like she could fly high as the eagles, or touch every star in the sky. Departing from the kiss they looked at each other with pure adoration, and Faramir taking her face into his hands ever so gently. Who knew that she was the prize to peace. After all the effort and death that plagued the war, her love, was the prize. “So this is the miracle that I have been dreaming of.” He said, and she mirrored his actions, bringing her hands to cup his cheek. “So this is love, my lady, Y/N.” The Prince of Ithilien said, looking at the witch maiden and seeing his entire future in her brown eyes. “So this is love, my Faramir.”
They shared one final chuckle before taking another kiss underneath that moonlight.

The Way Back {Faramir x Reader Oneshot}
Requested by: Anonymous Wordcount: 3057 Summary: Love can be found in the unlikeliest of places, such as in a war-torn city after a win.
You took a deep breath in, and then a deep breath out. It felt like you hadn’t had the time to breathe in days. It had been battle, after battle, after battle against Sauron and his forces, ending up in this, the grand battle outside of Gondor. But the enemy had finally been defeated, the last of the orcs crying back to Mordor. You removed your helmet and let your hair fly free in the breeze as the world seemed to catch it’s own breath back. There was still plenty to do, such as tend to the wounded, burn the bodies of the deceased, and begin plans to rebuild the city. There were many fallen on both sides, even though the battle had been won by yourself, and by Gondor. By Minas Tirith. You looked about you, savoring the moment of peace, before plunging yourself into even more work.
Tumblr media
You regretted that you did not attend the last battle at Mordor, but you had a much more pressing issue of helping with Gondor. There was so much here that had to be done, and you put your faith in your three companions. Legolas, your younger brother, who looked so much like you with delicate elfin features, but was a killer with a bow. Gimli, the dwarf that you came to see as a friend and an annoyance in your life, almost like a grumpy old pet, but one who could swing an axe like it was no ones business. And Aragorn, your best friend, a fellow Ranger, who had returned from Mordor and would soon be crowned King. But for now, he left you to care for Eowyn, a woman that he had introduced you to, who had been hurt in the battle. As two female warriors, the two of you struck up a quick kinship. It had been you who had given her a horse to ride among the riders, before you went with your fellowship to hold the dead to their oaths. Your horse, one of the fastest in the world, and the envy of many of the riders, including her brother.
You sat with her in the healing wing, dabbing her forehead gently with a damp cloth.
“I’m barely moving enough to sweat, y/n, there’s no need for this,” She said, trying to wave you away with her injured hand. You shushed her, and put it back down to her side. She looked more fragile than you were used to seeing her. Before, you had seen it in her eyes that she was always ready for a fight, the inner beast in her wanting to come out and growl at the world. A true dragon in pretty colors.
“Would you rather me go and get one of the healers to do it for you? I feel they would not be as good company as I though...” You threatened, and she sighed and allowed you to go on with your blotting. You were not a healer, though you knew a couple of things. Like to constantly check your friend for fever, for the wounds that she had sustained were nasty. She may have stabbed the witch King in the face, but she paid the price for that.
“I don’t like feeling helpless like this. I want to help the healers - it is only a couple of wounds. But no, all they let me do is go for one walk a day among the garden, like I’m some sort of...”
“Woman?” You asked, raising an eyebrow. “Let us go on our walk then. Let them dare to stop us while we are together. They can try to bully one warrior, but two? I do not think them so foolish.” You took hold of Eowyn’s better hand, and helped her onto her feet. She was eager to be up, and there was a flounce to her step, almost girlish. Sometimes she lamented being a woman, but there was still some femininity to her.
Together you walked out of the healing wing, and out into the open air of Gondor. A lot had been ruined during the war, and was being rebuilt. There were footsoldiers still around, and were helping to guide the reconstruction process. Everyone was helping out - even children, who were spreading the mortar over the walls with their little hands. “Are you going to return to Rohan as soon as you are healed?” You asked Eowyn as you strolled arm in arm, avoiding the places where the most damage had been done.
“After Aragorn’s coronation,” She answered. “I see no sense in returning, just to turn around and come back in a couple of weeks. And with my brother constantly off with the Riders of Rohan, they are going to need a new leader.”
“I see,” You said, nodding. “I’m so sorry to hear about your Uncle, Eowyn. He was a great man, as as I’m sure you knew. And he taught you well, you’ll take his place fantastically.”
“What about you? I remember your father wanted you to return to Mirkwood-”
You shook your head vehemently. “I too will be staying until the coronation. Legolas may be returning but I’m not so quick to leave the scene of one of the greatest battles that Middle Earth has ever known. I’m reluctant to go back...”
“Why?”
“I’m his heir, and he is getting older. I know that he wants me to take up the throne, but I am not Queen material, Eowyn. I belong on the battlefield. That’s where I feel the most comfortable! Not among the rich dresses and the gossip of elfen society,” You opened up to Eowyn, knowing that her, above anyone else, would understand how you feel. “Legolas is better suited as King than I ever would be as Queen. Were it I were born second rather than first...”
“Either way, it would be nice to have someone who is more sympathetic to humans on the throne,” Eowyn said, coming to a halt. You looked at her confused. “There he is - that is Faramir, the new Steward of Gondor.”
You followed her eyeline to see a man, leaning over one of the walls, looking out at the wreckage of the grounds that had been the battlefield. His hair was to his shoulders, a messy light brown - it was a look that many of the human men wore. Aragorn. Boromir -
Of course! This had been the brother that Boromir had mentioned to you during the nights when you two had watch together. But with some more burns upon him than Boromir had ever seen. You had heard of what had happened to him. His own father had tried to kill him.
“Shall we introduce ourselves?” You asked. Eowyn, who was far from timid even while she was wearing a gown rather than armor, nodded her approval.
You approached him together, which did not seem to intimidate him, for he gave you a surprising smile when you reached him. “I hope we aren’t interrupting your thoughts,” You said, pleasantly.
“Not at all,” He inisisted. “I always have time for two of our heroes.”
You beamed down at Eowyn, seeing the little flush on her cheeks. It was amazing seeing her talent be recognized. You were about to praise her even more, just to see if she could go as red as a rose, when one of the healers came running up, interrupting the mood. “You should be resting Lady Eowyn!” She chided.
“But...” Eowyn started, but then gave in rather easily. “Excuse me. I hurt my hand while killing the Witch King. I hope you understand my quick departure.”
You couldn’t stop grinning at her little amount of bragging. She deserved that much. Faramir bowed his head respectfully as the healer took Eowyn away, who was still complaining that she was fine. “Did you receive an injury while doing something important like killing a Witch King?” He asked.
Tumblr media
“I stubbed my toe while taking down an Oliphaunt,” You shrugged, making him grin. You realized while he was doing so that he was actually pretty handsome .. for a human. He had a softer face than both Aragorn and Boromir, the only two humans that you could claim had been your friends. Or still were, in Aragorn’s case. He wasn’t as bristly. And he had very kind eyes. The race of men really was starting to grown on you.
-
Your father had come to Aragorn’s coronation. You had not expected him to. He very rarely left Mirkwood. Not since the Battle of the Five Armies had he ventured anywhere near this far. But the King returning to his throne was a grand deal, so you supposed it wasn’t that out of the ordinary. You stood beside your brother in welcoming your dear friend to the throne, and had managed to position yourself in a way that let you look at the Steward. He stood with Eowyn, who had become as wonderful a friend to him as she had to you. A sister to the both of you, though she needed no more siblings - not with a gruff one like Eomer about.
“When are you going to tell father?” Legolas whispered after Aragorn had passed.
“Tell him what?” You hissed.
“About how you are in love with a human,” He said, smiling widely. You nudged him and he nearly fell into Gimli, but his elf-like reflexes stopped him from doing so. “He can’t take his eyes off of you. Is that why you dressed up today? It is so weird to see you in a gown.”
“Can you please be quiet and enjoy our friend’s special day?” You asked in Elvish. Legolas did quiet down but you kept sneaking peeks over at Faramir. The two of you had gotten rather close in the last couple of months. And you might even think that you had given your heart over to the man, though it was very painful to think about. You would continue to remain youthful for many, many years, barely gaining a wrinkle while this man would grow old, wither, die. Life was cruel that way. Unbelievably cruel.
You saw eyes looking at you behind Faramir, and caught your father’s stern gaze. Your eyes widened, and like a child caught doing something bad, you immediately looked anywhere but your father, pretending to be distracted by the leaves, or the sweet little hobbits.
After the ceremony was a lovely party, which Aragorn did not attend because he went straight into his duties. You could say a lot of things about Aragorn, but not that he wasn’t dedicated to his work. You walked through the party, surprising a great number of people by wearing an intricate Elven gown for the occasion. Most of these people had only seen you in your fighting garb, which looked a great deal like Legolas’s. In fact, on more than one occasion, you had been mistaken for one another. Definitely not on this day, though.
You wandered, before Faramir’s hand lightly brushed against your arm, pulling you into conversation. “You look...” He said, gazing at you up and down, trying to find the words. You decided rather than waste time, you would finish his sentence for him.
“-like a beautiful Elven lady?”
“You took the words right out of my mouth,” Faramir said with a grin. He looked bashful, an expression that became him. He could be the most cold, hardened warrior, but around you, he seemed to be a bit more of a bashful mess. It was a very endearing trait. And it was something that brought the warmth right out of you.
“Yes, my daughter is a very beautiful Elven lady,” Your father’s familiar voice said from you behind you. Your eyes said ‘Uh-oh’ faster than your mouth could, and you turned to see him standing there. The blonde hair that the whole family had was gleaming brightly in the sun light. “I’m stealing her for a moment from you, Steward.”
“Of course,” Faramir said with a nod. He walked away with his hands behind his back, having recovered very well from his injuries. You watched as he walked towards Eowyn, and they struck up a friendly conversation. Your two favorite humans - and yet it gave you a feeling in the pit of your stomach that you did not like. You were wary of them being close. You were fond of both of them and you would not be surprised if they became overly fond of one another.
“Is that him?” Your father asked, following your line of sight. You stopped staring, and turned back towards him to give him the respect that he both deserved and demanded.
“Is that whom?” You questioned, your eyebrow arching upwards.
“The human that has stolen your heart?” Your father’s steely gaze cut through you like a knife. So he knew. You looked behind him for Legolas, and once you had caught his eye, you gave him a glare. “Do not blame your brother like you are some sort of child. He didn’t tell me a thing. It is entirely obvious.”
“Do you think that he knows?” You asked, swallowing any denial that you might have had bubbling.
“Since he is an inferior human, I would suppose not.” Your father said, chin held high. “I was going to ask you to come back with me. Take your place as the ruler of Mirkwood. There is a lot of work to be done.”
The happiness that you had felt for Aragorn, and then the slight giddiness that you had around Faramir had dissipated entirely. You were back to the way that the elves usually were. Hard-browed. No emotion showing.
“I’m sure that there is,” You said, not excited at all about the prospect of returning to your home. “And you are sure that you want me to be doing it?”
“As the oldest, it is your duty. Female or not,” Your father said. But he wasn’t catching your eye - he continued to glance over at Faramir. “You have caught his attention most ardently. He will not stop looking in your direction. It almost reminds me of your mother.”
Your heart started to beat in your chest, but your expression did not change. Still, there was a little bit of hope shining through. You tried to catch your father’s eye, but he kept looking away, which was unusual. Usually, he enjoyed looking right into the eyes of the person that he was talking to. It was a power play. And now you were the one who was trying to be the one in power.
“Is there any way that we can postpone it, father?” You asked, trying to make yourself taller so that he could not avoid looking at you. “Just for a few decades? Hardly any time at all - and all of that work will still be waiting for me.”
“A couple of decades? So you can come back after your human lover dies, and take out your grief in your work like I had?” Thranduil asked, tutting. You have never heard him tut before. But you also knew that he had a point. You remembered how he had thrown himself into his duties as King when your mother had died. He hadn’t given himself the proper time to grieve, and his leadership was lack for that. “We’d better give it a century or two. I might be able to finish my own tasks in time for that.”
“Surely - you’re joking? This is the first joke that you make and you decide for it to be this?” You questioned, unable to take your father seriously at this moment. His expression had not changed at all. In fact, now, it looked a little bit angry.
“I do not joke.” He said, glaring at you. “I am trying to give you the opportunity to love.”
You tried to search for any sign of deceit in his eyes, but could find none. He even looked a little ... flustered? Uncomfortable at the idea of talking about love with his daughter? Either way, you weren’t going to pass this opportunity up. You clasped your hands in front of yourself and gave him a bow which he then returned, before sweeping himself away to talk to Legolas, which was always much less about emotions.
You walked back over to Faramir and Eowyn, and put your hand on Faramir’s arm like he had to you just moments before. “May I speak with you for a moment?” You asked him, looking over at Eowyn. The blonde woman gave you a knowing smile, and walked off to speak with Merry, whom she had grown fond of over the war. The Steward of Gondor looked at you, still with that soft grin that you enjoyed looking at so much.
“What is it?” He asked, the grin faltering slightly. You’ve never asked him to talk privately before, and he wondered if something was wrong. But you took that away from him with your own lips, which you softly pressed against his once you were sure you had a little bit of privacy. “My lady?” He questioned, after returning it.
“It is unconventional, but it appears that I’ve fallen for you, Faramir, Steward of Gondor.”
“You have?” He asked, bewildered, but then seemed to regain his senses rather quickly. “I thought you never would. I’ve already resigned myself to growing old by myself.”
“You don’t have to,” You said, taking hold of his rough and calloused hands, giving them a squeeze. “If you will have me, I’d like to be by your side as you grow into a handsome old man.”
“While you stay the same?” He asked, his voice going softer.
Tumblr media
“Yes,” You said with a nod. There was no point in beating around the bush - he would grow old and you would stay exactly as you were. It would be quite some time before you started to look older than you already were.
“My beautiful wife,” Faramir said, leaning in for another kiss. You granted it happily.

A.N: I did not get way into writing Merry’s speech. How dare you? ...so yes, I may have pulled up all my romantic proposal speech ideas and memories from books and combined them into this monstrosity. Anyways, I looooved this request and I really hope you like it!
Requested by Anon on Tumblr: Hi Maia! This is the anon who thought she pressed submit two days ago 😅. May I please request a fluffy fic between Merry and hobbit reader where they’re already courting? Hope you are well and thank you for putting in all the time and effort to write these fics! ~abeautifuldayfortea

Happy
“Pippin!” Merry burst into his friend’s home, an excited grin on his face as he grabbed his friend’s arm.
“Today’s the day!” Merry was practically bouncing with excitement, causing Pippin to lead him to a chair and sit down.
“I know, Merry, but calm down. We don’t want her to find out too early, now, do we?”
Merry shook his head. “I know, Pip. I’m just so excited! I’m going to ask Y/N to marry me!”
Pippin was laughing at his friend. “Is everything ready?”
Merry nodded.
“I’m going to bring her up to the hill at dusk, where you’ll be waiting. You better head up soon to double-check everything!”
Nodding at his friend, Merry rose and left, hugging his friend in thanks.
Later that day, Merry was making his way through Hobbiton to the hill he had planned to propose on when he saw you, sitting in a circle with a group of hobbit children. They were rapt with attention as you spoke, and Merry could tell that you were telling a story from how your face was alight with excitement. He watched as you mimed a knife being brandished.
“...and then the brave Meriadoc stabbed the Witch-King in the leg, felling him before the Lady Eowyn, who with one blow slew the evil creature!”
The children erupted in cheers as you pretended to die, and Merry smiled at your retelling. After that fight, you and Pippin had pulled him back from the brink of death. Now, gazing at your face lit up with delight as you moved on to your next tale, he couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his life with you. Smiling to himself, he turned and continued his walk.
You stood, brushing off your skirts and waving at the children as they departed. You loved telling stories, particularly those of your journey with the Fellowship, and the reactions you got were always delightful.
“Y/N! Hi!” Pippin skidded to a halt in front of you, beaming, before grabbing your hand.
“Let’s go for a walk.” He then proceeded to start dragging you along, and, laughing, you let him.
When you reached the top of a hill, you let out a gasp of surprise. Someone had strung small lanterns in the bushes, so the whole clearing glowed. Flowers were artfully arranged in the grass, and in the center of it all stood Merry.
You looked back at Pippin, wondering if this was what you thought. He winked at you, and turned and disappeared back down the slope.
You made your way into the clearing, marvelling at the small details, the flowers strewn in patterns that you were now noticing.
“Merry… what is this?”
He grasped one of your hands in his, and you noticed the small rose tucked into his lapel. Your favorite flower.
“Y/N. I’m sure you can guess where this is going, because you always know what I’m up to, sometimes even before I do. But let me speak, because I have been waiting so long for this.”
His eyes were overflowing with love for you, the soft grin on his face melting your heart even more as he continued.
“I love you, Y/N. I’ve loved you, well, not since the first time I saw you, because you smacked me on the head for messing with the papers you carried, but sometime after that, after pranking you and trying my very hardest to get you to notice me, I realized I had fallen, and fallen hard. It was the greatest joy of my life when you agreed to court me, and it was the greatest honor of my life when you joined me on that quest and saved me a thousand times. I owe you my life a million times over, but you already own my heart. You are my greatest joy, the one person that I know I would not be here without. And it would give me the greatest pleasure if you would consent to become my wife.”
He bent down on one knee.
“Y/N, will you marry me?”
You smiled at him as you nodded.
“Yes!”
After you spoke, he swept you into what you considered the greatest kiss of all time. It was a kiss that promised love, a future, trust, everything you didn’t know you needed until you had found it in this slightly ridiculous, absolutely wonderful hobbit.
You broke apart to the cheers of hobbits, who had made their way into the clearing while you were distracted.
“Congratulations!” Sam burst from the crowd, gathering you up into a hug before moving on to Merry. You gently hugged Frodo, laughing as he whispered in your ear, before moving to hug your new fiancee again.
You gasped as a firework exploded above.
“Gandalf!” Hobbitlings immediately mobbed the grinning wizard, but not before you glimpsed a nod from him, with a smile of congratulations accompanying the twinkle in his eye.
Merry wrapped an arm around your shoulders as the noise died down, everyone focused on the wonderful firework show above. You couldn’t believe that you were engaged, and were so happy to have found your wonderful hobbit.
But the peaceful silence was broken by a honking noise, and you spun to see Pippin, eyes swollen from crying, blowing his nose into a handkerchief.
Sobbing, he spoke. “I just am so happy for you two!”
You burst out laughing, giving him a big hug before letting him embrace your future husband. You did agree with him though. You were so very happy, and couldn’t foresee yourself ever being anything else as you gazed at your future husband.

Warnings: not self-harm scars, but there are mentions of war/battle and violence, talks of being a prisoner of war
ᴹᵃˢᵗᵉʳˡᶤˢᵗ
Legolas’ is here.
𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: You’ve been in many battles, fights and wars. And your s/o is seeing your scars for the first time.
𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐧
・It was late evening, both of you had had your supper, but even after you had finished eating, you were still sitting at the oak table
・Unwinding, you were both relaxing after a big day
・Aragorn was smoking pipeweed, and you were happy with your wine
・The snow was falling outside and you were both rugged up
・The conversation from the day had found its way into your chambers
・Although there was no threat of war, it was still spoken about since Aragorn was the ruler
・He was no stranger to seeing the horrors of war, it was drastically different when he saw the effects of it on your body
・He was devastated.
・His gruff voice asked about what you had been through
・Aragorn filling both your cups in celebration of surviving
・Though neither of you were drunk, the affect of the drink was starting to make you both loosen up
“Do you regret them?” Aragorn said suddenly, breaking the impregnated silence
“I don’t.” You said after a while, insinuating that you didn’t see your scars as a negative thing
It was quiet for a while. But not the type of silence that was awkward. Nothing with Aragorn felt awkward, nothing.
After taking another sip from your cup, you asked him the same, “Do you?”
“For some...I do.”
・He said it without looking in your eyes
・And he took a long puff of his pipe. After blowing the smoke from his mouth, he reached across the table and took ahold of your hand
“I just want you to know. I love you.”
𝐄𝐨𝐰𝐲𝐧
・She hadn’t been in many battles herself, so seeing your scars took her breath away
・Many long slices that had healed badly, some healed well
・All depending on how many healers had been there during the fights
・Eowyn’s long hair travelled down her back in a braid that you had done earlier
・Making it so her hair didn’t fall in her face as she trained
“That looks like it hurt,” she said absentmindedly, reaching out to stroke the reddish coloured scar.
Without meaning to, you laughed and nodded enthusiastically. “It bloody did.”
・Her heart broke for you
・But she laughed lightly at your response
・You were both standing, staring out the window which overlooked the village below
・Her hand snaked down to yours and squeezed
“I’m sorry,” she whispered, entwining her fingers, still looking out the window
“Thank you, but I did what I had to do. And this is what came of it.”
・She turned to you then, and leant her forehead against yours
“I won’t let you get hurt again.”
    “And I you.”
𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐫
・Sighed when he saw them, hanging his head in defeat. “I wish you never had to go through that.”
You smiled at him, “No other choice, my lord.”
・Although you meant the name as a joke, a teasing nickname, he took it in a different way -
・Like he could have somehow stopped this from happening. That he had the power to stop it.
・He was very upset
・And went to sit by himself for a bit
・You didn’t go after him; sometimes people just need time to process their feelings. In other words - to feel their emotions...and work through them
・When he came back, Boromir got on both of his knees and held your hand against his face.
・Shocked, you let him lead the situation
“Y/n, forgive me. Please forgive me.”
・Your shock didn’t waver, it didn’t falter - only grew
“Boromir, why would you ask for my forgiveness?” You knelt as well, so you were on the same level.
“Because your family has lived in my kingdom for so long. Every decision my forefathers have made led you to endure this. They are to blame, and therefore, I am to blame.”
・Tears welled in both of your eyes and he stroked his thumb against your cheek
“I will not forgive you. Because there is no need for you to apologise. I know you will be a just ruler, but I will not have you apologise for my decisions.”
・Kneeling, he took you in his arms and hugged you fiercely. His hand firmly holding your head to his chest.
𝐀𝐫𝐰𝐞𝐧
・Her gentle voice soothes you, it was the end of another battle and she was healing your wounds
・As your partner, she tended to you without breaks. You had your own rooms that she took you to, getting help from the other’s to move you to the bed
・She was with you day and night
・So she saw your scars when you were unconscious and her heart broke from what she saw
・Arwen never wanted you to go through the hateful thing that was war. And seeing the results of that on your skin made her want to kill every person who did that to you
・When you finally awoke, she was asleep next to you
・But the moment you stirred, she jumped up and hurried to your side
“My love, how do you feel?”
“...sore,” you said in a croaky mumble
・She smiled, going to get you some salve and drink that would mull the pain
・When you realised you were topless, you deflated
・And when she came back, you stared at her, trying to see if anything had changed in her since seeing your scars
・When you were about to talk, she beat you to it
“Yes, I’ve seen them. And I’m sorry you went through that.”
・You were glad she spoke, because you still didn’t have the strength to explain
・It was like Arwen could sense it; or maybe she just understood beings better than most. Because she didn’t push for it, she didn’t ask you too many questions.
“I can do my best to fade them as well, if you wish.”
・It took you a while to decide, but at the end of it. You decided against it.
   “They’re apart of my story.”
・And again, she understood.
𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐫 (this is where talks of being a prisoner of war is)
・You were both up late talking about life and the conversation went to war and what you had both experienced
・A deep conversation that you both didn’t intend on having
・It was late night, with the stars above you, a fire in front of you and two pales of ale next to you
・Faramir didn’t mean for the conversation to go to a darker place
・But you were in the beginnings of your courtship and you wanted to learn more about each other
・It wasn’t until you took off your large jacket and left on your undershirt that he noticed the raised slices on your skin
・He took a sharp intake of breath, seeing your arms alone...it broke his heart to see just how hard you had fought for what you believe in
・Faramir didn’t know how to bring it up, but you knew what he was talking about
・You had been a prisoner of war, and had been tortured for information...but still held strong. They got nothing out of you but a bunch of spitting and swears
・It was Aragorn who had found you, and both you and Faramir were eternally grateful
・But Faramir hadn’t seen how bad the orcs had hurt you
・Their brutality was obvious and it took everything in Faramir not to scream out in agony and hatred
・You, who he loved so much. Who made him feel whole, who made him feel like the world made sense, who gave him a purpose - a will to live
・The fact that someone had hurt you so badly... he wished he could return the favour a hundred times over

Scared - Eowyn x fem!reader
I’m in love with your writing and am a disaster of a bisexual, so when I saw your Arwen piece I was thrilled. Could I request an ÉowynxFem!Reader where she’s tending to Éowyns wounds post battle, so when Éowyn wakes up she sees the reader crying and they confess feelings??
sure thing @itgetsatadhazy! sorry if it got kinda long. SHE SO PRETTY-
Tumblr media
Type: Imagine Pairing: Eowyn x fem!reader Summary: Y/N isn’t scared of much, but losing her best friend is the one thing that terrifies her. Warnings: non-canon parts?, ‘shit’ Word Count: 1114 words
The battle raged around Y/N, and for the first in her life, she was truly fighting for her life.
These Orcs were unlike any that she’d faced before - with such relentless rage and bloodlust in so many numbers that Y/N was very prepared for the possibility of death.
Dying didn’t scare her. Pain never had. Battle was too ordinary for fear. But the thought of leaving Eowyn, her beautiful best friend, behind if she did perish with a sword through her chest ... that scared Y/N more than anything.
Although, she supposed that if she was currently fighting a battle outside Gondor itself, surrounded by what seemed like millions of Orcs, pirates and Oliphaunts, there really wasn’t that much more to be scared of.
She glanced over at Eowyn, who rode her horse with a casual grace, and admired how beautiful her fellow Shieldmaiden was. Then, Y/N forced herself to snap out of it - Eowyn wasn’t actually meant to be here, and she was disguised. Y/N wasn’t about to be the reason that Eowyn got caught because everyone in Rohan knew the h/c-haired girl’s lovesick glances directed towards the blonde.
Y/N’s sword cut through another Orc with a squelch, and she grimaced as blood splattered across her armour. The battle wasn’t going exceptionally well, but, then again, they faced Sauron’s forces. It wasn’t exactly a play fight.
When Y/N looked to Eowyn again, she realised her mistake after a couple of seconds making sure that her friend was okay. The h/c warrior had gotten distracted, and some soldier slashed through her horse’s flesh, making her fall off with a scream.
As Y/N raised her head again, she saw Eowyn looking around.
She recognised my scream, Y/N thought warmly. She cares about me.
But that fuzzy feeling quickly turned to panic as Eowyn was yanked from her horse.
“Shit!” Y/N hissed, drawing a shorter sword and sprinting towards Eowyn.
The Shieldmaiden staggered to her feet just as Y/N reached her. Her blue-green eyes that Y/N found so beautiful were wide with shock, and they were no less stunning through the large helmet that obscured the rest of Eowyn’s face.
“You okay?” Y/N yelled, swinging her sword to intercept the attack of an Orc, stabbing it through the chest with a sickening gurgle.
“Fine!” Eowyn yelled from behind her - back-to-back was their favourite way to fight. “Merry!”
This next cry was directed at the Hobbit who’d been with her. “Stay close to us!”
The small Hobbit nodded furiously, and held his own impressively as the three of them fought their way towards Gondor.
---
In hindsight, Y/N was stupid to think they’d been winning. That was before the Nazgûl had showed up, wailing with such pure agony and force that Y/N almost dropped her sword to cover her ears.
The screams made her want to curl up and die, but she forced herself to keep fighting - she was in no hurry to die.
Then, the thing that Y/N least expected to happen did.
The Witch-King of Angmar himself flew down, and she acted before she could think. His steed, a fell beast, roared at Merry, who was frozen to the ground, and lunged forward, presumably to bite his head off. Y/N swept her sword upwards, and the leader of the Nazgûl was forced to slide off his beast as its head flopped around its detached body.
Before Y/N knew it, she’d been knocked to the floor, at least half a dozen of her ribs probably cracked or broken, and a rapidly swelling cut on her head that blurred her vision with tears and blood.
Y/N could barely raise her head, let alone help Eowyn, but she was glad to see that Eowyn held her own. She crawled quietly so the Witch-King didn’t notice, reaching for her sword, and looking up just as the Nazgûl had her crush in a chokehold.
With a swing of her weapon, he screeched, dropping Eowyn to the floor. Y/N felt an indescribable pain shudder up her shoulder, and she fell back to her knees.
“I am no man,” she faintly heard Eowyn declared before crying out, followed by an agonised death wail.
“Eowyn!” Y/N cried as the blonde fell to the ground. But she was barely keeping herself conscious.
Everything went black.
---
Y/N was beginning to worry.
She’d woken and recovered fairly quickly, finding herself in Gondor’s Houses of Healing. A fellow resident there, Prince Faramir, had befriended her and kept her company even when she was so upset at being confined to a bed that she felt like throwing something extremely valuable and preferably delicate at someone’s head.
But Eowyn still slumbered, her pink lips slightly parted as she breathed quietly, humming in her sleep. Her eyes were tightly closed and her forehead lined - even in dreams she could not escape worry or pain.
Y/N wanted to take it all from her so badly.
Why? she asked herself stupidly. She’s just your friend. Just as Eomer is. Then why are you so much more concerned about her?
Y/N berated herself for finally facing the truth as she sat by Eowyn’s side, stroking her long blonde hair out of her face with a s/c hand.
“Why do I care about you so much?” Y/N said aloud, wrapping a deep cut with a fresh, medicine-soaked bandage. “Well, maybe it’s because you make me smile like no one else can. Maybe it’s because you’re mor ebeautiful than anyone else I’ve ever laid eyes on. Maybe it’s because ...”
She took a shaky breath.
“Maybe it’s because I love you.”
Of course, Eowyn didn’t respond. Of course, Y/N was only greeted with silence.
The h/c girl couldn’t help it. She started to sob.
Ugly, fat tears, rolling off her cheeks and onto Eowyn’s bed as she bent her head to cry and cry and cry.
Hopelessness was as familiar as a breath. But never had it seized her like this.
“I love you!” Y/N said, her head still down. “I love my best friend, and she would never feel the same!”
“H-hey.”
A quiet whisper snapped Y/N out of it instantly.
Eowyn’s eyes were wide open, blinking away tears of sleep to reveal the beautiful blue-green depths.
“I feel the e-exact same way.” It was obviously paining her to say anything with the state she was in, but she said it anyway. “W-why did it take this?”
“I don’t know,” Y/N whispered, almost smiling. “But I want a happy ending. And I want it with you.”
“My Knight in shining armour,” Eowyn teased.
“Nah, I’m pretty sure that’s you.”
A laugh. “Goddamnit, Y/N, just kiss me, please.”
“Gladly.”

The Art of Being an Eldar: Legolas x Reader Chapter 6
Tumblr media
Summary: After discovering that you were stuck in Middle-Earth, Thranduil summoned a council of powerful Elves and wizards to see what should be done with you, expressing his wishes of wanting you out of his kingdom. The council decides to send you with Legolas on an orc-hunting mission, and if the Elves of the company that he deems trustworthy-- one of them being his own wife-- say that you've proven yourself worthy of staying among the Mirkwood Elves, then you can stay. The problem is actually managing to succeed...

Rating: Teen (14+) for now
Instead of Blue-Eyes meeting you by Starlight, it was Erestor, instead. Aside from the one time you'd spoken to him with Haldir, asking him about other continents (Which, it turned out, you'd misunderstood. Beleriand had sunk, and so had Numenor and Tol Eressea, and no one but the Eldar could reach Aman anymore.), you hadn't spoken to him.
He was an older Elf, kind of intimidating, with a bird-like demeanor and an expression that said Don't fuck with me.
So yeah, you were kinda surprised.
Still, you bowed in the Elvish fashion. "Len Suilon, Erestor. Ci maer?"
"Suilad. Ni maer, [Y/N]," He assured nonchalantly. "A gin?"
"Ni maer eithro." You looked around nervously, hoping Blue-Eyes would pop out of nowhere and save you from a further conversation in what would probably be your poor Sindarin with an age-old Elf. "So, her majesty chose me for this scouting mission, eh?"
"Indeed," Erestor inclined his head. "Your Elvish improves, if slowly. You do not hesitate in your greetings anymore."
"Thank you, sir."
"Come, and lead Starlight along," Said Erestor unfairly regally, and sailed majestically away. "Have you been practicing your swordplay diligently? You may need it."
You nodded as you followed him. "Yes sir. Legolas, Elros, and Lindir have made sure that they split my day into learning Sindarin, weaponry, and even the general Elvish way of being Elvish." You tried not to sound irritated about that. They literally never gave you any free time. Not that you'd brought any books to read, and not that you could read any Elvish, but that wasn't the point.
"Good," Erestor nodded. "What are your strong suits?"
Ah, shit. "Uhm... I can throw a dagger pretty hard? I can probably shoot somebody dead if I'm point blank, but other than that, my aim sucks. I'm somewhat okay with a sword, though, and I prefer two. Why?"
"Curious," Erestor replied all mysteriously, and that was all he said on the matter.
The Elves chosen for the scouting mission-- the Elvenqueen herself, with Blue-Eyes, Haldir, and Elros-- were gathered and speaking amongst themselves, while Thorin and Dwalin next to their very dignified ponies glowered at them. Balin was feeding his own pony an apple, muttering to it kindly. Compared to the Elves, who were naturally tall and lithe, the short and stocky dwarves looked outrageously tiny.
"Ah," The Elvenqueen's attention was on you faster than a supersonic jet's. "You have arrived."
You bowed deeply. "Your majesty." To Haldir, and even to Legolas just to be safe from potential Elvenqueen-wrath-2.0, you added, "My Lords." You turned to Erestor. "I'm sorry I didn't greet you with the title, I forgot what ‘my lord’ is in Elvish."
To your surprise, the Elves chuckled. Except for the Elvenqueen, of course. "You need not worry yourself, mellonenin," Elros assured you. "You are still learning."
The Elvenqueen inclined her head. "We leave at once, if all are ready."
There were positive responses throughout, and everyone present mounted up. You caught sight of Lindir coming out of his tent for the morning, and waved; he looked confused, but awkwardly repeated your gesture. "What on Arda are you doing?" Blue-Eyes asked under his breath, like you were embarrassing him.
You snickered. "It's like a 'hi' and 'bye' gesture for when you're out of earshot of someone you know. It's called ‘waving’. Everyone does it where I come from."
"This is not your world, [Y/N]," The Elvenqueen reprimanded firmly. You fought the urge to shrink in on yourself. "If you are going to be a part of it and learn our ways, then you must do so faithfully, leaving everything you know of your world behind you. Your land is nothing but a poison, and I do not want it infecting Middle-Earth. Am I understood?"
"Y-yes ma'am-- your majesty, yes your majesty."
"Good," Said the Elvenqueen, and then she continued giving orders in Elvish, while Thorin purposefully repeated them in dwarvish for Balin and Dwalin, though everyone present spoke fluent English-- Common. For you, Blue-Eyes translated what he could before he was called up to ride beside his mother, so then Elros and Haldir took turns explaining. The whole event left you feeling like a fish out of water.
***
It was around noon when the company halted, which Thorin and Dwalin had been leading on foot, while Balin kept their ponies tied to his own. At first, you assumed, lunch, finally, I'm starving, but instead, you'd stopped because Thorin had found a trail. "Orcs," He said.
Duh, you felt like saying, what else would it be? Bigfoot?
But after the Elvenqueen's earlier lecture, you kept that to yourself.
"Which way do they lead, master dwarf?" The Elvenqueen demanded.
Thorin huffed as he stood. "They go north, but they are heavy from travel. Wherever they came from, it is not from anywhere near the northern borders of Mirkwood or Erebor."
"Where else would they come from?" You blurted out before you could stop yourself. "Are there like orcish towns in the north or something? Maybe we could--”
"There is no such thing," The Elvenqueen snapped.
"The wargs that I had tracked were from Gundabad," Blue-Eyes said calmly, as if that hadn't ever been important information before. "The ones that attacked us on the river, however, were from Mordor."
You leaned over to Haldir as Blue-Eyes continued to speculate. "I'm confused. What's the difference?"
"Gundabad wargs are darker, lithe, and more agile," Haldir told you quietly. "They are more viscous, as well. A Mordor warg is more... Stout, I suppose you could say, and slightly lighter in color."
There was a flash of color before your eyes. Suddenly, you felt as if you were in a clearing of trees, surrounded by people in dark colors, while the sound of howls filled the air, unlike the ones you'd heard before.
These are Gundabad wargs! They will outrun you!
These are Rusteveld rabbits! I'd like to see them try.
You shook your head as you resituated yourself in the saddle. Well, that was sudden... It had been quite a few days since any of the strangely-familiar visions had come to you. You came back to your senses as Dwalin laughed uproarously. "Well, that settles it, then! To Gundabad!"
"Wait just a moment," The Elvenqueen said. "We are not all brash, Master Dwalin. We will go back and retrieve more forces before even thinking of going near Gundabad." With that, she turned her silver mare around and began trotting back, Haldir and Erestor on either side of her. Thorin, Balin, and Dwalin hung back, taking their time getting on their ponies and following after.
"Where's Gundabad?" You asked Legolas quietly; not that it did any good. Elves could hear grass growing on the other side of the continent if they wanted to. "And what is it?"
"It is northwest of here, in a cleft between the mountains," He answered. "It is an old fortress, from the time when the Dunedain first came to Middle-Earth from Numenor, if you remember." You nodded; he'd told you the entire story of the Silmarils and anything that went with it or after. "It was the gate that lead to the Witch-Kingdom of Angmar."
"Lead by the Witch-King..." You finished for him automatically. An eerie echo of a voice filled your mind: No man can kill me. At his impressed look, you scrunched up your face. "And what are you, French? How'd you make that 'h' sound in the middle of the damn word?!" You realized what you said only after you'd said it, and quickly looked to the Elvenqueen to see if she'd heard. If she had, she made no sign of it. "Sorry."
Blue-Eyes patted your back. "It is fine, Sairen, you can speak to me of your world, don't worry." With a cocky smile, he looked down at you smugly. "As for the pronunciation... You will learn to do it soon."
Back at camp, a group of Elves was already up and waiting to move out, and at the Elvenqueen's ringing voice, they followed after, and you all retraced your steps back to where Thorin, Dwalin, and Balin had found the orc tracks. You considered it pointless-- they could've just taken the host of a couple dozen Elves with them that way they didn't have to retrace their steps.
Partway there, you decided that goddamn song that'd been going through your head needed a damn good explanation. Unfortunately, Blue-Eyes was now up by his mother, leaving you between two totally random Elves. You'd never been good at starting up a conversation, but you decided to give it a try anyway. "...Hey, do either of you speak Common?"
Both Elves busted out laughing as if you'd made a hilarious joke about dwarves.
"Most Eldar can speak Common," The one on the right said, removing his helmet to look at you more clearly. Whoa. You practically fell off Starlight. He was beautiful. He had long, purely golden hair that fell down his back in unfairly glorious waves. He had soft blue eyes (Not as gorgeous as Blue-Eyes', but still.) and a fair face. "It would be considered quite odd, in our long lives, if one did not learn the tongues of others."
You just stared at him. "Dude. Are you like, made of gold?"
He laughed, which sounded a lot like something naturelike and unfairly beautiful. You'd never heard any of the Elves outright laugh, so this was a weird, new experience for you. "I have been asked many things, but that is new. No, I am just as flesh and bone as you are."
"Yeah, but yours are like, plated in gold, so, you're... Wow."
He laughed again. "What is your name, mellon?"
"[Y/N.]," You replied, in a daze, then leaned over quick to the Elf on your left, who tensed and tried to lead his horse away. "Do you even see this guy?!"
You turned back to Goldie. "A gin?"
As best as he could in the saddle, the Elf placed his right arm over his chest and bowed at the waist. "I am called Glorfindel. Gellon len covad!"
"Mae l'ovannen!" You said in response.
Glorfindel smiled at you. "What was your question, mellonenin?"
"Well thanks to you and your blinding gold-ness, I forgot. Give me a minute." You thought for a second, trying to ignore the literally glowing Elf beside you. "Ah! That's it. I asked if you could speak Common so you'd understand my question. You guys have songs, right?"
Glorfindel gave you a look like you'd just told him his hair looked like an orc's. "Of course we have songs! Many, many songs! They are as timeless as we are, and we, all of us, are taught these songs from a very young age. Did you wish to learn them?"
You shook your head. "Nah. I've never been good at singing." If I sang all you Elves would shatter like a glass in an opera-room. "When I got puffed here, a song started going through my head. I can never remember all of it. Just bits and pieces here and there. But it's really bugging me. So if I told you all I could remember, think you could remember one from your Elvish past?"
Glorfindel inclined his head. "I shall answer to the best of my ability."
"Okay," You wracked your brain for the lyrics. "Okay, uh... Something about leaving home, and fading... Lots of fading. The one sentence I can always clearly remember is 'all shall fade.'" You looked at him curiously. "That ringin’ any bells?"
Glorfindel thought hard. "If by that you mean if I can remember anything similar, I cannot. If it is a song of Arda, it is not one I know, and I can remember most Eldar songs."
That caused a lightbulb to appear above your head. You gasped, wide-eyed.
"Wait! You're Glorfindel?! As in, the Glorfindel?! The guy in Gondolin who tried to protect Turgon by fighting the Balrog?!"
"Ah, Turgon... He was a good friend."
"And when it fell it grabbed your hair?!"
Glorfindel flinched. "Can we not mention that...?"
"And then you came back to life to fight Sauron?!"
"Yes--"
"The guy who was in love with Ecthelion of the Fountain?!"
Glorfindel flushed, his face going a deep shade of un-Elvish red-- on him, though, it was more of a rose-gold... "Yes, I am that Glorfindel, and I would advise you hush before you draw the attention of the Elvenqueen."
Nervously, you glanced ahead, to where the Elvenqueen sat regally upon her horse. If she or Leggy had heard you, neither of them made any indication of it. With a giddy smile, you looked back to Glory. "This is so cool. Where I'm from, you rarely ever meet anybody so important. Now I've met some of the most important people of Middle-Earth! Ooh, am I also gonna get to meet the king of Gondor?!"
Glorfindel looked confused, but amused. "Gondor has no king, and has not for many, many years. Not since the death of Isildur. Now, the stewards of Gondor keep watch over the city and uphold its laws, and await for the heir to the Gondorian royalty to show himself."
"Or herself," You specified, fighting a wince as you heard a voice echo, Gondor has no king. Gondor needs no king.
Glorfindel raised an eyebrow. "Hardly ever is a mortal woman given any sort of royal duties alone. She would have to marry someone of high standing to be considered queen."
You scoffed. "Great. So the humans of Middle-Earth are assholes, too. Figured I'd escape from that."
"The race of Man is a fickle one," Glorfindel agreed. "More often than not, they are the cause of most grief in the world." He smiled. "But worry not! You are of the Eldar now, and are not subject to their torments."
You shrugged. "Good point..." You beamed excitedly at him. "Tell me about your adventures!"
He did, until the Elvenqueen gave the signal to dismount and to keep silent. You'd been so into Glorfindel's stories that you hadn't noticed that the trees had thinned out, giving way to loose, rusty-brown soil and rocky slopes. All of the Elves sailed silently over the rocks, while the dwarves trampled noisily.
For days (Which passed like extremely-long hours, and you weren't even hungry or thirsty or tired.), the procession trekked through the hills without any audible communication, until the huge hills rose up to your left and in the north into jagged mountains. You kept going, and going, and really wondered how any of the Elves that'd been left could possibly reach any of you for backup if needed in time.
On what was about noon of the week and a half mark, you came to an overlook that spread down beneath you into a huge, rocky valley, dry and desolate. There was no sign of life, and further still, about a couple days away by foot, was another tall, jagged outcropping overlooking a massive structure of bronze. Small black dots which you were going to assume were birds flitted about the top of it, and it stretched what looked like hundreds of feet into the air. You were astonished.
"We came all this way for rocky dirt and an old tower. I don't see any signs of life there." You kept your voice at a whisper, like some of the other Elves who'd began talking amongst themselves.
Blue-Eyes eyed the tower warily. "You're not supposed to."
You turned to watch him walk away. "Then what?" Blue-Eyes gave the Elves some order in Elvish, and you continued. "So we came all this way to see that it really doesn't look like there's orcs there but really, there are, so, what do we do? They've obviously got a shit ton of more orcs behind there. We're probably way outnumbered. So what do we do?"
"We," He replied, "Are going to do just what we came here to do. We're going to scout, by getting as close as we can and seeing what we can. Then we leave. It's as simple as that. If, however, we're ambushed, the rest of the procession has been following us slowly. They're only a couple of hours behind."
You frowned. You must not've gotten that memo because everybody felt the need to speak highly advanced Elvish when you only knew a couple ways to say "hi." "So what do we do if we see something we don't like? Attack?"
"If we can," Blue-Eyes told you, "But it most likely will not come to that. We simply came to see if they have larger numbers than those few who attacked us at the river."
You gave him an incredulous look with an eyebrow raised nearly to your hairline. "...Few?"
He scoffed, and walked off, giving orders in Sindarin that you only caught a word or two of. You were watching him with a glower, when you noticed Lindir sidling up on your right smugly. "...Do you not wish that you know what he is saying?"
You playfully rolled your eyes. "Ugh, Lindy, geez, can you read my goddamn mind?" You turned to mock-glare at him; he was preening. "Well? What was he saying?"
Lindir laughed and wagged a finger at you-- so Elvish. "No no no no no, mellon, I will not make it that easy for you. If you wish to know exactly what he said, then you will have to continue learning from your current point."
Your shoulders slumped. "Really? Damn. Fine, I guess, since it looks like we're camping here." And it did. Practically everyone was going around setting up bedrolls, but you seen no sign of a fire. "Glad it's warm-ish. What, we just supposed to freeze?"
Lindir gestured to Gundabad. "If we light a fire, they will see us, and our stealth will be for naught."
You gave him an odd look. "...What?"
Lindir blinked. "If they see us, our stealth will be for naught."
You stared at him blankly. "...Naught?"
Lindir suddenly looked panicked. "Do they not have that word on your world? It means the same as nothing, in this context."
You scoffed with a cocky smirk. "I know what it means. You Elves are just so damn fancy." You reached over and ruffled his strangely-perfect brown hair, to which he yelped and yanked away from you as if you'd tried to stab him. You left your hand in the air where his head had been, wide-eyed, as Lindir stared at you in shock. "Uhh... Got a sensitive spot on your head there?"
Lindir narrowed his eyes at you. "I should teach you Eldar custom as well. No Elf touches another's hair, for whatever reason, unless it is necessary, which is more than likely never to happen. Braiding and touching another's hair is considered something only for the wedded to do."
You yanked your hand away from where his head had been. "Sorry. I didn't know. Where I come from, that whole hair-ruffle thing is used between siblings or friends."
Lindir smiled softly, straightening his hair. "It is fine, [Y/N.]. You had no way of knowing. But, now I realize I must teach you language and customs-- or perhaps Elros can do that..."
You snickered to yourself, earning an odd look from the Elf. You shrugged. "Nothin', just, I've got specific Elvish teachers now. You're my language teacher, Elros is now customs, Legolas is history, and Glorfindel is music. I'm gonna be a true Elf before I know it."
"Maybe never a true Elf," Lindir laughed, "But close enough!"
You laughed with him, but on the inside, winced. You doubted if he meant it as an insult, but it hit you like one. No, you'd never been considered good enough to be a true anything, especially an Elf of all creatures, who were naturally shiny and glowy and perfect and shit. But still, for someone to confirm it, even in a joking manner, that you'd never be good enough to be a true Elf...
It really hurt.
You acted all casual on the outside throughout the rest of the evening, laughing and joking when needed, but internally, you were fighting a dull ache in your chest. You'd gotten it a few times before-- rarely, but still-- and you knew exactly what it was. The desire to fit in. You'd never had a chance on Earth. But here, you'd hoped to at least be considered a part of their realm.
Dammit, why am I so sensitive?! He didn't mean anything by it!
But what were you really doing here? Struggling to prove yourself to a race that would never accept you. To all Elves, you'd be considered an imposter, like Thorin had said. You knew for a fact you'd never be good around "the race of Man," as they put it, and even in this world, you knew you'd never fit in with them, either. At best, the Men would see you only as a rebel Elf trying to fit into the society of Man. Dwarves? Hell no. What about the Hobbit-folk? Maybe you'd at least be considered a friend to them? No, you were an Elf here. They'd be wary of you, maybe even fearful.
Maybe you should just settle for traveling like a vagabond, like Gandalf does. When everyone else was resting, you stayed by Starlight. You scratched underneath of his chin, and he rested his snout on your inner elbow, allowing you to rest your head on his, staring into his eyes and putting off a feeling of calm. "You accept me for who I am, right?"
Starlight's ears were pricked toward you, so at least he was listening. His only response was a blink. You sighed, closing your eyes. You didn't even have the security of him. One day, he'd grow old and pass away, while you lived on for eons. Carefully, so as not to spook him, you reached up and scratched behind his ears.
"Mellonenin?" Said a voice behind you. You turned to see Legolas, looking concerned. He glanced back over his shoulder, to where the rest of the Elves talked amongst themselves, even conversating a little with the dwarves. "What are you doing out here?"
You gave him a smug look. "What's this I hear, Blue-Eyes? Showing concern for me?"
He rolled his eyes playfully. "Hardly. Just curious."
You shrugged, going back to loving on Starlight. "Everybody seemed to be doing good without me. Lindir and Elros said my lessons on custom and language were done for the day, so I figured I'd spend some time with Star."
Blue-Eyes shook his head in exasperation. "I will never understand your shortening of names..." He fixed you with an expression that you couldn't quite read. "...Are you nervous about a potential battle, Sairen?"
You shrugged. "Hack'n'slash. Can't be that hard. I have played video games, y'know, and I did get here through a LARP event." You shot him a cocky grin. "I think I can handle myself. Always have."
Blue-Eyes smiled softly. "Well... I am certain you will surpass my father's standards. I have no doubt of it."
A warm feeling blossomed in your chest. Your cheeks flushed. "Thanks. That really... That really means a lot, for you to be sure of me."
Blue-Eyes hummed thoughtfully, smoothing down Starlight's pitch mane. "Your world did not appreciate you as it should have. You are a kind person, Sairen, and while at times you are eccentric, that only adds to your persona. I know that I can put my full trust in you anytime, and not be disappointed." He smiled at you. "I am glad to know you, mellon. I feel as if you were meant to be here."
For a minute, you both just stared at each other with smiles on your faces, while you felt all warm and fuzzy inside. Any upset feelings from earlier completely burned away. His pale gold hair looked white in the moonlight. Fuck, I will not cry. I will not. Not at all. Definitely not even having to try... You finally blushed and looked away, busying yourself with straightening Starlight's forelock, though the smile remained on your face.
"Damn, Blue-Eyes. You're making me blush." He laughed, and you added, "But... I'm really glad I know you too, Leggy. You've been nice to me, and actually believe in me..." You smirked at him. "That's rare for me. Thank you."
He looked almost appalled. "You do not need to thank me for taking a liking to you, Sairen. It is not as if it is a chore." Suddenly making up his mind about something, he drew his shoulders back. "Would you like to go for a ride together?"
You beamed at him. "Duh! It's a horse, of course I wanna go for a ride!"
Blue-Eyes laughed. "Come on, then, let's go. Stay close to me; we will be going in the opposite direction of Gundabad, but orcs could still roam these wilds."
You nodded as you mounted Starlight, grinning stupidly down at the stupidly perfect Elf who smiled at you. "Got it. Let's go!"
Your heart was pounding dangerously as the two of you trotted off away from camp, talking about the history of Middle-Earth, as you tried to keep from staring outright at Legolas. As your heart faltered, looking at him smiling at you as the moonlight hit his hair, you realized something...
Shit.

How to Write a Fandom-Worthy Character (Part 1): “The Complex Heroine”
by Rae Elliott
The “strong” heroine is becoming a cliche, one-dimensional character women can’t relate to or don’t find realistic.
So it’s time we toss the “strong/kick-butt heroine” out and replace it with a more satisfying character: the complex heroine.
Fab fictional femmes like Shuri of Black Panther, Rey of Star Wars, and Eowyn of the Lord of the Rings, have raised the bar high for female characters. And, as writers, it’s time we meet that bar.
So what characteristics should your complex heroine possess in order for readers to freak over her?
Competence
Flaws/weaknesses/failures.
A noble cause she stands for.
Let’s talk about how you can use these traits in your own character crafting process.
Competence
All the ladies I spoke of aren’t strong. No, see, the adjective that better describes them is competent. That means they carry their own, they hold down the fort, and they make use of the beautiful brains God gave ‘em- in brilliant ways. See, being competent allows for strength in multiple areas, not just one.
Just wanting your heroine to be “strong” isn’t enough of a goal for her. Women possess many qualities that make them unique, honorable, and resilient. So focusing on strength alone narrows her possibilities. Focusing on creating a competent heroine, however, gives her more dimension, depth, and allows her a variety of goals and abilities.
Shuri, princess and younger sister to T’Challa, wasn’t just sitting on the sideline as her brother changed Wakandan history. She helped him change it- and not just through fighting, either.
Through the use of her awesome brain, Shuri created gadgets, weapons, and teched-out outfits to help her brother’s goal (really, the nation’s goal). She represented her family, her brother, and her people well by giving to it in valuable ways. And although she’s just teenager, Shuri has focus and direction, thereby producing the best works science has ever seen.
Rey survived on her own as a scavenger for years. She defended herself both mentally and physically against countless attacks, including the most fearsome attack from Mr. Prince Emo bad boy himself. Rey was also a quick learner and intuitive with the Force, which made her an excellent mechanic and pilot.
Eowyn, shieldmaiden of Rohan, burns at the fact that women cannot defend those they love. Yet she teaches herself how to handle a sword and hold her own anyway.
Ultimately moved to pull a Mulan and enter the war undercover, Eowyn successfully makes her way to the front. There, she faces the ultimate test of bravery: a smackdown with the Witch King of Agmar.
After the clapback of the century, Eowyn defeats the Witch King in defense of her mortally wounded uncle.
Notice a pattern here? These ladies are all self-taught in some way. Rey, alone most of her life, learns to fend for herself and scavenge to survive. Eowyn, unable to defend those she loves openly, teaches herself the ways of the sword in secret and enters the front in disguise. And Shuri, although she had the best education Wakanda could offer, created these gadgets on her own- always improving where need be.
So here’s the ultimate goal of a competent heroine:
To be a gal that’s got brains- not just brawn.
To have the opportunity to be self-taught, or a self-starter, in at least one area of her life.
To defy the odds and beat expectations.
Flaws, Failures, and Weaknesses
“But why should my heroine have flaws or failures, Rae? Won’t that just make her appear weak or incompetent?”
No, beautiful unicorn, it won’t.
Why?
Because no one can relate to a perfect heroine, a flawless heroine. I don’t know one woman who hasn’t made a mistake in their life (ahem, I’m looking at you, girl in the mirror).
Although the Force was strong with Rey, she still had weaknesses and honest desires gone unfulfilled. She longed to discover who her parents are and find her place in the world. Even though she had discovered her calling, she felt lost nonetheless and wanted, more than anything, for someone to help her find her place in the war. Those powerful, real desires made Rey a believable, relatable, beloved heroine.
As valiant as Eowyn was, she wasn’t without flaws. Her naivety bears down hard on her when she faces the horrors of war. This flaw also leads her to heartbreak, when Aragorn friendzones her hard. But we feel for Eowyn and relate to her struggle to find love in a world overcome with war.
To give your heroine a desire to find love and be loved is not a weakness, it’s a relatable quality.
Clearly, to bear a significant weakness or to fail in some way only makes heroines more relatable, realistic, and complex. Readers want to connect to characters, to see a bit of themselves in the heroine, so make sure you don’t just show her best side.
The point about flaws/failures/weaknesses is this:
Readers will find your heroine relatable and realistic.
They add depth and dimension to your heroine that readers will appreciate.
Standing for a Noble Cause
What does she stand for? What belief does she live for? Would she die for it?
To be apart of something bigger than ourselves gives us great purpose, gives us a wider worldview and perspective outside our immediate needs. Give your heroine that same purpose. If she doesn’t stand for a cause greater than herself, she’ll flatline.
Rey decidedly threw herself into the fight for the rebellion. Even though she lived on the outskirts as a mere scavenger, when the opportunity “rolled” itself into her life, she made her choice. Rey’s beliefs were greatly tested, yet she came out the other side an even more capable character.
Shuri used her talents for the greater good as well. She helped support T’Challa and bring Wakanda to the level of ingenuity it became legendary for. Her works weren’t just a trophy to hang on the wall-they had real purpose, and as a last resort, she used her weaponry in battle herself.
Eowyn wouldn’t stand idly by as Middle Earth fell into the hands of Sauron. She courageously took on a battle no other woman had before. Fighting for the world of men, and even taking a hard hit from the Witch King in the process, Eowyn took her stand valiantly.
Here’s what you need to take away from heroines who stand for a noble cause:
Readers admire and respect a heroine who stands for something bigger than herself.
Fighting an internal or external battle to defend that belief, no matter the odds, helps cement their identity as a beloved heroine.
Let’s be clear about something real quick: your heroine doesn’t have to fight in a battle to be strong. She doesn’t have to swing a sword or battle ax to be considered worthy of our respect.
(In fact, read more about my belief that we need more diverse female characters here)
There are many types of heroines and that’s okay. But if you want to create a complexheroine readers will appreciate, then remember these three keys:
Make her competent
Allow her to use her brain
Let her be a self-starter or self-taught
2. Give her flaws/failures/weaknesses
She doesn’t always have to win every battle (and she shouldn’t)
Failures make her relatable and more beloved to readers
3. Give her a noble cause to stand for
Standing for something greater than herself gives her a purpose readers appreciate
Defending that belief despite great opposition builds her character

Tumblr media
Warnings: teasing, sexual themes, fingering , dick touching.
A/n i dont know what this is really. @tmbm123 requested it.i tried.
Word count:1759
You had been friends with legolas for a long time, you weren’t an elf , you were a human. Your mother was a witch but she would never hurt someone innocent, she had cast a spell causing you AMD her to become immortal. You had met legolas in Mirkwood forest , when you were young ,it did lead him to take you to his father. You only went into Mirkwood because you had wandered away from you mother and could find her. As apparently Thranduil trusted no one , after his wife died, he thought everyone who entered Mirkwood were spy’s.
You wouldn’t be surprised if people were trying to assassinate him, all he did was mock dwarves , sass, and pretend to be a princess. Eventually they let you go, when your mother came looking for you, turns out your mother was friends with the king somehow. Thranduil didn’t know she had a daughter.
Anyways after that legolas would come to see you often after that, you both soon became buddies, legolas helped training you. As Mirkwood was poisoned and there was evil growing, you needed to be able to protect yourself. Your mouth watched in awe at you and legolas training, even Thranduil did when you would go there. He didn’t really like anyone else other than elves, so it was surprising, he was a little jealous, missing his wife.
You and legolas would go adventuring around , for centuries, until 13 dwarves came to Mirkwood and everything changed. Legolas didn’t tell you about it , or them reclaiming erebor and killing azog until after it happened. He told you he was leaving to go in search of a ranger named strider and he wished for you to accompany him. You had asked why he told you about his father being cold ,controlling, and he couldn’t live in his shadow anymore.
You had agreed , bringing him into your house while you packed, your mother wasn’t home. You knew she would forbid it , not wanting to lose you so you simply wrote her a letter, leaving it on the table. Once you had packed, legolas led you to his horse, he mounted on it,holding his hand out to help you get on behind. Which you took jumping on the back with an ‘oof’ .you wrapped you arms around legolas waist ,blushing, you had been crushing the elf for a long time. You rest your head against his back, moving his hair aside. Legolas ushered the horse to go quickly before your mother arrived home.
“I swear if I lose my virginity to this horse ,legolas. I will cut your hair.” You whined, you really didn’t want to lose your virginity while riding a horse, he gasped your comment.
“That’s very dirty y/n..” you pinched him in the side , at his sarcastic
comment,backing him Yelp in pain.
“I mean riding it-fuck off. You know what I meant.” He chuckled at you before focusing on the road again.
Once you had met strider , he assumed that you were with legolas you both assured him that you weren’t, he raised an eyebrow at this. You and legolas became close to strider who you later found out his real name was Aragorn. The heir to the throne of Gondor.
Now you sat on a horse, that Eomer had given you , with legolas sat behind you and Aragorn on another horse with gimil behind him. It was like when you had left with legolas but he was the one with his hands around your waist. You had already found Gandalf today, turns out he’s Gandalf the white now. Anyways you were on your way to Theoden ,something about him being possessed or evil.
After you found out you would have to run in search of Merry and pippin, you had quickly cut your long pants into shorts with your knife. Legolas had watched in wide eye, he had never seen your mid thighs bare. Gimil and Aragorn laughed at legolas , who you looked up at catching him starring.
“What i couldnt run fast.” That’s all you said before you all started running.
Yet still now legolas couldnt stopped staring at your leg, with his head rested on your shoulder. You were focused on getting to your destination, when you felt a hand rub against your right thigh. Legolas had removed his right arm from your waist , leaving the other clutching onto you, as he moved his hand to stroke your lower thigh. You tried to ignore him, but then his hand traveled up high, on to your inner thigh, his stroking becoming harder. You gasp,”legolas not now please.”
He smirked at your response, ghosting his hand high and higher before it got to your moose, briefly resting his hand there. You frustratedly reached you hand back to above his knee squeezing it hard, making him remove his hand quickly. “As much as I want that not here.” You muttered not sure if he even heard. When you reached Rohan you had befriended Eowyn.
Then on the eve of the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, you know the place with the tents. She had forced you into a dress after confronting you on your feelings for legolas. The dress complimented your figure , making your burst look bigger and waist smaller. Not that legolas didn’t think you were beautiful anyways.
Eomer, Eowyns brother took interest in your humour and clothing before the change but after his eyes almost popped out. You about to walk to search for legolas and the others , when Eomer has approached you. “Miss y/n ,you look very beautiful tonight.” He compliments you sincerely smiling at you, “thank you Eomer.your sister made me wear it.” You has smiled back at him.
“Awe. Don’t tell anyone but she did the same thing to me when we a little younger.” He whispered, you giggled “how old were you?”
“18, she was 13” you burst out into laughter soon after he did too, unknowingly to you legolas had been watching the whole thing.”why did you agree?” You questioned trying to breathe,
“She’s very convincing what can I say!”
“I bet you looked great, next time you drsss up please invite me to see.” You smirked, only before Eomer could reply legolas had stomped over to you dragging you away.
“I look forward to see you Eomer in that dress.” You shouted to him looking back, he smiled at you , waving. He knew of legolas’ crush aswell it was clear.
Legolas dragged you Into a tent, harshly “what was that for legolas?!” You shouted angrily at him. He said nothing just placed his hand on your cheek and the other on your waist, pulling you closer. He leans down to your ear, his breath on your neck, his hand running up your side. “ you do it on purpose.” He growled, his eyes moved down your body ,”why do you have to be so beautiful.” He now whispered, pulling you into a tight hug, your breasts pressed against his chest. “Don’t you mean why am I so beautiful.” You whispered flirting with him, he grasped your chin leaning in slowly.
“OI y/n are you in here?” Someone called going to open the tent you and legolas separated quickly. “Yeah, i am.” You replied , as merry stepped in. “What are you too doing?” He asked , suspiciously. “I just came to ask legolas if he had seen any potatoes. I am really hungry.” Legolas smirked at your response, and merrys eyes lit up, “I knew you would want some potatoes come on I made some already.” He jumped towards you in excitement, grabbing YOur hand pulling you along. You looked back at legolas smiling apologetically.
After that battle , you all were drinking in celebration, after Theoden made a speech. Merry and pippin were dancing , Legolas and Gimil were having a drinking contest, which lead to Gimil passing out drunk. You sat next legolas, Aragorn infront of you both. You were a little drunk as was legolas; it made him more confident.
He spoke to Aragorn ,complaining about something you don’t know what ,you were focused on swishing your beer around in your cup. You hand had made its way on his thigh all night, eventually it was on his area , stroking harshly causing his cock to harden ,That was until legolas hand was on your thigh, going under your dress, on your bare skin. You gulped trying to ignore it, sipping your beer, then his hand gripped tight then let go to venture up higher. He made his hand right infront of your sensitive area, before rubbing at sonic speed between your lips. Damn he wasn’t even your boyfriend you face now bright red. You sipped your drink coughing, when legolas slipped his fingers into your wet hole.
“Are you alright y/n?” Aragorn hand asked concerning , as legolas added another finger, legolas acted like he was worried about you. “Yeah I’m fine , I think I am going to go , it’s too hot in here.” You tried to act normally, “yeah I have to agree with you there.” He chuckled, legolas curled his fingers in you, you try to hold in your moan.
You pushed legolas hand away , secretly before standing up , getting out from the seat. “Goodnight.” You spoke still red. “Wait someone should go with you.” Aragorn suggested,”I’ll take her , if you don’t made me living you Aragorn?” Legolas smiled at Aragorn, as he nodded his head.
Legolas grabbed your arm leading you to your chambers, as soon as bayou got outside , you smacked legolas. “What were you thinking legolas.” You angrily whispered, walking fast. He shrugged, smirking. “Why in public on horse and now infront of aragorn. What the hell we aren’t together.” He grabbed your shoulders turning you to face him before smashing his lips into yours roughly, biting your lip causing you to open your mouth allowing his hungry tongue,His hands around you waist tightly.
As you pull away he whispers “I love you y/n. Too be fair you did touch me first.”
“Yes I did but the horse thing was-. I love you too princess.” You embraced Legolas tightly.
“Come on let’s go.”
“Where?”
“Too finish what you started.”
