I have decided to re-christen my feathered friend, for a couple of reasons; the original name, though it was given in earnest, feels a little forced now, and as touching of a gesture as I intend it to be, it's a lot of baggage to put upon a bird, naming them after a real person. So with that in mind, I have renamed them Marble. When I can take a photograph of them, you'll be able to see why this moniker was chosen.
Also, I may have made a second little friend. They're smaller and flightier than Marble, and they're possessed of a striking copper colouration all across their body. It's for this characteristic that I have bestowed upon them the name Rust.
Somewhat related to the above, I have discovered that Marble is a touch... possessive. They have certainly not taken to the newcomer very well, driving them off every chance they get. I'm curious to see whether this is something that will continue in future, or if they will learn to coexist.
Will update again soon - hopefully with some pictures!

but you know what’s great? Throwing little edible things on the floor and calling it “feeding the birds” when in reality the only creachies who straight up munch are the big woof woof doggies who look like little silly clowns scrambling over themselves attempting to pick up all the handkerchiefs they dropped before the boogwam can sproinkle them
