2019 July 23 (Tuesday) - Misha posted this with caption "This guy is always partially-obstructing my view of sunsets." I asked myself - can I locate the exact spot where the plane was? It turn's out that I can - they were about to land in Vancouver:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He published this sunset photo in the morning, so I'm assuming that it was taken the day before (on Monday). From where they were returning to Vancouver? Looking at the previous post at Misha's social media tells me that they were in San Diego at Comic Con (which ended on Sunday).
And there is the fun part: did they had to fly together to Vancouver because season 15 of SPN was starting filming on that week? No. Filming SPN would start the next week, on July 30 and Misha would start posting from set immediately.
So it would made more sense for Misha to fly from San Diego to his home in Bellingham. Instead he opted to fly with Jensen and then do over an hour of driving from Vancouver to Bellingham. But did he even drove to Bellingham on the next day or he stayed in Vancouver (enjoying his pink blanky at Jensen spare bedroom) to Friday? We don't know for sure, but the only other photos, that Misha published between the sunset one and these from SPN set, are from Saturday & Sunday, which he was spending with his kids in Bellingham.
EDIT: Small correction, because I forgot to check some things: 15x01 started filming on July 30, but it wasn't the first episode that was filmed in that season. 15x04 Atomic Monsters (dir. Jensen Ackles) was shoot first (because of Jensen's beard) - between July 22 and July 29. Jared even posted one photo on set from July 22 (monday), so the sunset photo from a plane could have been from sunday evening. Castiel, however, does not appear in that episode.

Dean’s Outfit in The Winchesters Trailer
Here I am, back on my obsession with Dean’s clothing and able to put it to good use.
We see Dean in the trailer not looking exactly like we know him. However, we know his outfit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He is wearing his black denim jacket, light denim shirt and mid blue jeans. I am guessing this is heaven by the license plate but it is not his heaven outfit from 15x20. Dean has had the jacket since s11 and wore it in s15 for
15x04 Atomic Monsters
15x08 Our Father Who Aren’t in Heaven
15x09 The Trap
The shirt was new for s15 and worn in :
15x04 Atomic Monsters
15x08 Our Father Who Aren’t in Heaven
15x09 The Trap
15x14 The Last Holiday
15x15 Gimme Shelter
15x20 Carry On
While they were both in Atomic Monsters (directed by Jackles himself) they were not worn together. They were worn together in 15x08 and 15x09. Yes, this outfit travels to both hell and purgatory.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Jensen finds it so significant that he decided Dean would wear it the first time we see him in The Winchesters. I also want to note that it was worn in 15x04 to kill a vampire. And Dean died on a Vampire Hunt. In this case the parents were getting him human blood. They said Sam and Dean couldn’t understand because they are not parents. “We just wanted him to have a normal life”. Can’t help but think this could take on new meaning with the prequel.
Tumblr media
It was also interspersed with Chuck and Becky with this memorable scene
BECKY: Okay. If I had to give one note… the jeopardy, Chuck. It’s feeling a little… thin? Low stakes? It’s fun to hear the boys’ voices, but a story is only as good as its villain, and these villains are just not feeling very… dangerous? Not to mention, there’s no classic rock. No one even mentions Cas. The climax is a little stale. Boys tied up again while we get the villain’s monologue, which, frankly, isn’t one of your best. A little originality wouldn’t… hurt.
I don’t think I need to remind everyone about all the Atomic Monsters theories. “It’s awful! Horrible. It’s hopeless.” They’re not dead. They’re just away”.
The shirt I believe to be the one Dean died in. He changed into it and his death jacket for his final hunt.
Tumblr media
I think I might have an idea now for something I had no clue about before. I noted before on my post about Dean’s Cursed Heaven Outfit that on the video Jensen posted as he was dressing up as Dean for the last time “at least for now” he was not wearing the jacket Dean wore in Heaven. He was wearing Dean’s black denim jacket, not the heaven one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are NOT the same jackets. The sleeves sit different, pockets are different shapes, there is not the same seams on the heaven one etc.
I could never figure out why Jensen would be dressing as Dean in a near identical outfit that we never see. Now I wonder if Dean coded Jensen managed to film something way back in September 2020 for the prequel? The scenes filmed on that final day were the roadhouse, driving and the bridge. I think it might be possible he switched jackets at some point. And maybe this was when Jensen stole it from set! Seeing this trailer I am more convinced than ever that the prequel is somehow going to lead to a continuation.

Griffith Park Drive, Los Angeles
Kicking off a new series on filming locations that appeared multiple times in Supernatural, with an unlikely candidate. If the Pilot was the only episode filmed in LA, how did a location from the pilot appear multiple times? Let me show you!
Tumblr media
Griffith Park Drive in Griffith Park was the site of the roadside scenes in the Pilot where the Woman in White was picked up on the side of the road, first by Tony...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And later by Sam...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You also see the spot when the boys first drive into town and pass the Jericho sign (also visible in the first screenshot). Note for visitors: The tree behind the Impala in the first shot below is no longer standing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When the location returns, it’s two years later in Season 3 in driving footage that must have been shot during the pilot. In fact I think it may even be an extended version of the footage of Sam driving through the Woman in White’s ghost, just without the the Woman added in post.
The same footage appears in 3x03, in 4x04, in 4x18, in 10x20 and finally in 15x04. Which is pretty cool that footage shot on film in the pilot made it all the way to digital edits in the final season.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is one of three types of repeat locations (though there’s also some amount of overlap between these types).
There’s ones like this one that are actually just the same footage being used in multiple episodes, but the show only shot at the location once (true of a lot of driving footage).
There’s ones that appeared in multiple episodes but were playing the same location each time (this would be places like Bobby’s house and Singer Salvage Yard). Given the nature of the show as a road show, there’s not as many of these as one might think in a 15 year series.
And lastly, there’s locations used multiple times and playing a different location in the show each time.
Next up Pipeline Rd in Stanley Park :-)

right?? network interference is where we hit the biggest brick walls (bob sing*r too ofc). there was a story there. if it was in the first draft or early drafts the writers wanted it there. the queer narrative disappearing is censorship at play. i have conflicts with dabb for a lot but it’s hard to ignore his hands were tied. sometimes going as far as filming it and printing it and editing it and sending it out for approval and then “the powers that be” going uhhh yeah that’s not happening.
why else was chuck the final big bad. no free will. now we’ve got dean’s vessel taking over the story and writing it all out the way it “really” happened. that’s conspiracy territory lol. but if the pieces fit.
Yep, 100% this, anon!!!
And yeah, standard disclaimer that I'm not absolving Dabb of *every* problem I had with his run and s15 in particular, but as far as destiel goes, we've had proof for YEARS that the queerest stuff got axed before making it to the final product (like the summer where all the s10 deleted scenes were released and it was just scene after scene of destiel and drowley content), and for all his faults, Dabb took the destiel ball that Carver gave to him and continued to carry their storyline. He could have killed it and given either of them a permanent love interest but he didn't, and he gave the go ahead for 15x18. For better or for worse, we got our canon destiel
And there's just so many little details about s15 that we've examined post finale that just straight up make you go "HMMMM." The entirety of 15x04 but specifically Becky explicitly stating what makes a bad ending (an ending that ended up looking damn similar to what we got). How 5x07 seems to be poking fun at the concept of a car being 'raptured' (like the Impala was in the finale). How even in Dabb's final episode, he introduced the vampire mimes, creatures bound to silence like Dean/the writers. Like, it's not a conspiracy to say, "hey, this seems like a little too on the nose to not have meaning of some kind. Were the writers poking fun at the finale they knew we would hate?" and yes absolutely it might not mean what I think it could mean, and I can live with that. But damn I'd love for those little nuggets to be addressed in a tell-all book one day.
At the end of the day, I think the one thing the show couldn't escape was the idea (brought forth by singer or network execs or whom-thefuck-ever) that it *HAD* to be about the winchester tragedy, that one HAD to die for the other. That a certain group of fans had to be appeased. No showrunner could escape that, and I just hope that if a sequel ever is put forth, we can do away with the idea that the story *has* to be tragic, and maybe finally the characters can get a little bit of the peace and love we think they deserve.

Why Do I Have to Feel Like a Fucking Conspiracy Theorist -- OR -- How I Find a Semblance of Peace on Sunday Night
I’m also going to start this out with a GIANT DISCLAIMER.
I am about to theorize about what may have happened to the SPN finale. I have absolutely no insider knowledge. I am merely speculating here based on the panels and a bunch of Twitter and Tumblr posts that I have been reading over the last few days. If you are not in a good place to read such things, TURN BACK PLEASE. Go take care of yourself and your mental health. You and your feelings are valid and deserve to be handled gently right now.
Additionally, if you are here to give me shit for being unhappy with the ending, please walk away as well. I am here to reach out and share my feelings with people who might be struggling to make sense of something that upset some of us in very deep-seated ways. I am not here to bother you or critique you or tell you that you’re lesser because you liked the ending. If you felt it was good, then go enjoy it.
Long-ass post beneath the cut, everyone.
Alrighty folks...I debated whether or not to do this because I have been spiraling down the hell that is the SPN finale since Thursday. The travesty of what happened to our show--to this beloved show that seemed to have been so perfectly and precisely written for at least four years that it had basically already paved its own tarmac on which to land its plane and we all thought we knew exactly what we were going to get. And then we didn’t. We had a nigh Cas-less and entirely Eileen-less ending. We had no goodbye between Cas and Jack. We had Dean dying young after finally finding his freedom, only to ascend to heaven with no one but Bobby. We had the weird, weird, weird incest-y death scene. We had the bridge crane shot thing because...sure. You do you, Robert Singer.
It was so terrible, so truly awful, and I couldn’t seem to square any of it with anything we had known going in. I tossed and turned and cried and didn’t eat or sleep all weekend. I spent hours just reloading tumblr and twitter, going to the Misha panel, reading and reading and listening and trying to figure out what the fucking hell is going on because I needed to know exactly where to direct my anger. And after a fuckton of talking with @winchester-reload, I think we have at least a very plausible theory about what happened here--I’m laying it out below as much for my own peace of mind as anything else, because otherwise all of these thoughts are going to continue to spin around in my head for weeks and I won’t be able to do jack shit.
Now to start off, unfortunately I do think Dean was slated to die from the beginning of this season. I don’t know WHY they thought that was the best way to go, and I wish they had listened to Jensen on this one. Part of me wonders if it was an order from on high based on the discussion between Becky and Chuck earlier this season--the writers knew it wasn’t a great choice, but they were trying to signal to us that we should feel free to write our own endings to the story because they’d be better (I can wax poetic on the signs of why many of the writers probably wanted Dean to live, but that’s another post). I’m not defending that choice by any means, just laying it out there that I think they didn’t necessarily all want to kill Dean like they did.
However, what I THINK I can explain now is what happened with Misha and why we got so jerked around with Cas’s story. Consider what we know (I can’t immediately source all of it, but I did my best):
At the end of episode 15x19, Lucifer has been returned to the Empty after being killed AGAIN. He talks with Cas. Maybe harasses him a bit about Dean, idk. But then...Jack shows up. New God Jack. And he picks up Cas and pulls him out of the Empty, leaving Lucifer behind, because seriously. Fuck that guy (also leaving behind his abusive father is character growth for Jack, so yay for that).
-Misha was contracted to film 15 episodes this season. He was only in 14.
-Misha told Michael Sheen he had to go back to film 1.5 episodes after the shutdown in March. (Starts at 6:13)
-Misha was in Vancouver during filming of the finale.
-Mark P said at Darklight Con that the last scene he filmed was with Alex and Misha (and Mark P was only in episode 19).
-Misha implied that he was present for various filming moments, including Dean’s death (start at 35:15), and said that it felt like a “mini-reunion.”
-Various sources have mentioned that Jimmy Novak was supposed to be in the finale.
-After episode 18, Stands tweeted a fan who was angered and hurt by Cas's death that they could talk about the “bury the gays” issue after the finale aired.
-In episode 19 we know there were takes of the parking lot scene where the only thing fans observing could hear was Dean yelling “CAS” at Chuck (fuck I can’t find this one right now, but it’s definitely out there)
-Also in episode 19, we had a very strange, awkward montage at the end of the episode.
-In episode 20, we know there were a FUCKTON of missing scenes
-We also had no opening montage, but three other separate montages.
-Carry on My Wayward Son was played TWICE, back-to-back at the end of the episode.
-Episode 20 was shorter than normal and had surprisingly little dialogue. The pacing was VERY strange.
-The cast and crew has been almost completely silent about the finale since it came out. When they have spoken, it has been with an awkward excuse of “Uh...COVID?”
-Samantha Ferris has specifically noted that, despite the Harvelle’s being back in play and a big heaven reunion having been planned pre-COVID, neither she nor Chad Lindberg received any such invitation to return.
-Cas and Dean POP Funko figures were pictured together in a replica of Harvelle’s in 15x04.
NOW with all of this in mind (and I’m probably missing some stuff too because there is so much--feel free to add on to that list), please bear with me because here is what I think we were SUPPOSED to get POST-COVID (after it was determined that the reunion couldn’t happen because of the virus):
In episode 20, we start with our NORMAL OPENING MONTAGE, like always. It traces everything that happened during the season. We are reminded of Cas. The confession. Rowena. Eileen. Jack. Billie, God, the Empty, all of it.
Things then follow along in the episode where they did up until Dean dies and wakes up in heaven. After his conversation with Bobby, he drives off to find Cas (who, in the script, was listed as “Jimmy Novak” in order to protect against script leaks--who wouldn’t want to do their best to avoid spoilers about the finale with the wrapping of a fifteen-year show?). He does indeed find Cas. We get Dean’s end of the confession. Hell, maybe we even get a kiss. And then Dean sets up his new heaven home in the recreated Harvelle’s. Maybe Cas even fucking moves in.
Years pass. We get Sam having his life on Earth (still can’t explain why they cut Eileen and couldn’t even have Sam signing vaguely to the blurry brunette in the background; if anyone wants to take that on, go for it). Eventually, Cas tells Dean that it’s almost Sam’s time. Dean takes Baby and goes to meet Sam at the bridge. The cover of Carry on My Wayward Son plays during this much shorter sequence. End of episode.
But that’s not what we got. Instead, much of what I just wrote about was excised from the episode. The remnants were stitched together after shooting had been wrapped. Filler was added in the form of montages and long, unnecessary extra shots to get the episode to something approaching a reasonable length.
But why? Why would they spend all that time and money and quarantining on Misha, only to almost completely cut him out of the finale? I struggled with why the fuck the CW would want this mammoth show to go down as the greatest queerbait in TV history when they had the chance to do something truly beautiful and monumental with it? It couldn’t just be sheer homophobia, right? Well, I think that factored into it, my friends, but here is where my head is at right now.
It was about cold, hard cash.
Now I could be wrong, but this is what I’m thinking at the moment: Supernatural is going off of the air. Supernatural, the CW’s cash cow for fifteen years. Sure there is still money to be made on blu-rays and merchandise and cons...but they need people watching their shows. They need that sweet advertising revenue. And you know what show they have about to premiere? A show that could, potentially, bring with it a chunk of that SPN revenue?
Walker.
And if any of you know anything about the original Walker Texas Ranger, you know that the show was predominantly a show about a very heterosexual white man being very excessively heterosexual. And for SOME REASON over the years, many of the execs at the CW still seem to think that this show, Supernatural, is really attractive to a lot of middle-American white men...whom they desperately want to watch this new show with this guy from Supernatural that they already know.
Now here’s where COVID fucked us. I think Destiel was greenlit by TPTB, at least in SOME form, before COVID. But then the pandemic happened, and they panicked. They got the cut of the last two episodes and watched them in their original, probably queer form. And then, the execs at CW looked at the economy. They looked at their cash cow, about to make its journey to the great beyond. And they looked at this new little calf Walker that they were so desperately worried about. And they made a choice.
They decided that it would be too risky to take the step with Destiel. They were worried about frightening off their ever-so-valuable hetero male demographic with the possibility that a traditionally masculine man in his 40s could be in love with another man in an overt way. It was homophobia mixed with greed, spun up by fear for their revenues because of COVID.
So they called in Singer, possibly Dabb, although I wouldn’t be surprised if they went straight to Singer. They told them that Destiel had to go: executive orders. And the only way to make it go in a way that removed any trace of what had been there was to rewrite what happened to Cas and cut him out from the last two episodes entirely. It was too late to reshoot anything. They had to just cut and stitch and fill with bullshit montages.
They removed the scene at the end of 19, probably because Cas and Lucifer discussed Dean. All that was left of Misha there was his voice on that fake phone call. They may have cut other things too, but I would bet my life that they cut a scene from the end of the episode and replaced it with that very strange montage. Then they moved onto 20. They cut out every scene with Cas. And left in only two platonic mentions of him, neither made by Dean. They tried to imply that Cas might show up in Dean’s heaven at some point, but that was as far as the editors could go in the time they had. They filled in with montages, awkwardly long shots, anything they could do to fill all of those missing scenes.
And they even had to take the opening montage, because literally everything in it pointed to Cas being there at the end of it all. They wouldn’t be able to leave out his scenes, they were too critical to the season. They couldn’t cut his confession without raising eyebrows. So they cut the whole thing and moved “Carry On My Wayward Son” to one of the newly-added driving montages at the end. Which is why we awkwardly had both songs play back-to-back--again, such a strange choice unless they were out of options and couldn’t exactly buy rights to a new track or compose anything else.
And so we were left with the shadow of the finale that we deserved, that Cas and Dean deserved. We were left without resolution or happiness or words. Bobo told us the most important thing about happiness is just “saying it” and our characters were silenced without anyone ever knowing the truth.
I think the writers might have known and been given the new party line that “Misha never filmed, he couldn’t, sorry, it was COVID, no one’s fault!” But I don’t think most of the cast even knew it had happened until they watched the finale on Thursday with us (though they might have been confused why the bit from 15x19 was sliced, they could reasonably have assumed it was a time thing and also BL episodes don’t make sense anyway). Why do I say that?
Well, first of all, Misha started sending out a bunch of excited texts to fans with some old BTS pictures about an hour before the show started airing on EST. He also wanted his children to see the episode, his YOUNG children. Why would he show them such a traumatic episode if their Dad wasn’t in it? What if it was because he wanted them to witness what was going to be a monumental moment in queer television history that their DAD got to be a part of? And then that was all dashed.
Which is why I think the cast and crew went almost completely radio silent the next day. I don’t think they knew. And based on how they have been acting on social media since then, I think many of them are absolutely furious, but they have been silenced because of NDAs, because they want to find work again in a cutthroat industry, because they don’t want to bring down the hellfire of Warner Brothers Entertainment upon themselves. So the most we have gotten is a little acknowledgement from the MERCHANDISING COMPANY trying to validate our pain (god bless Shirts, she is a LIFESAVER) and a response to my salty tweet about keeping good stuff in the closet from Adam Williams (the VFX coordinator) that seemed to acknowledge the validity of my complaint.
Then there was a scramble behind the scenes, I would bet my life. Talking points were fed to the boys who had panels today, to CE, to all the cast and crew:
Toe the party line. Misha never filmed. This was always about COVID. Do not mention Destiel. Do not mention Dean’s feelings for Cas. Do not promote the Castiel Project or anything that validates the idea that this was anything less than a superb ending.
And that is why we have heard so little from the cast on this front, and what we have heard has been muddled and contradictory. That is why the writers are saying nothing. That is why we have been left adrift.
Now before I close this out, I do want to say that I really, genuinely do not think this was on the writers at all. I feel like they tried to give us the best ending that they could, in a writers room that we know is notorious for splitting along party lines about the overall story (BL and Singer, who have always been about the brothers and their man-pain vs. Dabb and the rest who always seemed to want more for them and for Cas). I think they did everything in their power to at least end with Dean and Cas happy together. If they could give us nothing else, they wanted to give us that. And then the network took it from them. From us. From everyone.
For the sake of fucking money.
And the WORST PART OF IT ALL, for me, is that in the wake of this disaster, the fans have been left to try and figure out what happened. We have had to wade through a mire of conflicting information in the midst of all of our collective anger and grief over this garbage ending of a show many of us have loved and even relied on for YEARS, all the while wondering if we’re just fucking crazy, if we have all fallen collectively into the hole of conspiracy theories. That hurts ESPECIALLY badly because we have taken so many hits over the years from other groups on social media saying we were crazy for seeing things that weren’t there (especially Destiel), for writing meta and analyzing tropes and believing the evidence of our eyes and ears. The network has made us relive that entire nightmare WHILE processing our grief for a show we wanted so badly to celebrate and which instead we now have to mourn.
So again guys, I cannot prove that this is exactly what happened at all; this is simply my idea of what may have happened. But right now, it’s the most sense I can make from this mess, and to be honest, the act of typing it out has helped me enormously in my processing of it all. I feel like I can see more clearly, like I know where to target my outrage and where to direct empathy. I feel like just fucking maybe, I might be able to do my job tomorrow without bursting into tears at random moments.
I really hope that this post has helped some of you to, in some small way, process this too. We get through this the way that Misha told us at his panel this morning, the way the writers have told us to do all season long...we throw out the story God gave us and we make it better. We write our characters the happy endings they deserve.
We save them.
One last thing--if you have not already, please consider channeling your rage into a donation to one of the five causes our fandom has put together to pay tribute to our beloved show and to mourn the ending it should have had:
-The Castiel Project
-Dean Winchester is Love
-Sam Winchester Project
-The National Association of the Deaf
-The Jack Kline Project

Long post ahead, sorry, but I can’t be the only one who remembers this stuff, right?? i.e. the funko scenes from Atomic Monsters (15x04, Davy Perez wrote, Jensen directed)??
The first one came to pass on screen in the finale, when Sam and Dean discuss the mime-vampire case under the big tree.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second came to fruition only partially. Upon Dean’s arrival at the Heaven Roadhouse, Bobby tells him only that “Cas helped”. However, the funko pops in 15x04 imply that Cas was supposed to be there. Not Bobby. So what happened?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some seriously fucked up and suspicious shit is what happened. Take a look:
Tumblr media
The water tower on Becky’s desk, also in 15x04, was a hint about a filming location for the finale, that we know they made it to and filmed at because of the SPN tapeball Instagram account. On August 29 2020, the tapeball account posted a picture of the real water tower and the tapeball with the caption “About to drown....in tears”.
Tumblr media
Now this... this location, and the scenes shot there, never made it to air. We also know that there are 11 shots missing from episode 20 (if someone could dig out the chart plotting out what scenes fit where, I’d love to insert that here)
So here’s the thing about the SPN tapeball! It’s consistently colour-coded. Jensen is blue, Jared is red, and Misha is green. On the outside of the tapeball (therefore, the scenes most recently shot) we see red, blue, and a metric-ton of green on the left.
So where was Misha?? What happened to Cas?
Fuckery, my friends. He was there. (There’s a screenshot someone took of the view from his window when he was quarantined in Vancouver, don’t ask me how the fandom figured that one out bc it’s complicated but just go with it, Michael Sheen confirmed it during the SuperGood video thing, etc. there’s more but I don’t have time for that rn. Feel free to add on to the post if you have the receipts/pictures)
If I had to guess, even though I hate to do that, I’d say Misha shot his scenes, which were presumably set in Heaven, but they were cut, and he only found out as the show aired. Unfortunately, this sort of thing is not uncommon in the entertainment industry. What really stings is that he sat his kids down to watch the finale with him after never letting them watch the show before, only to see the absolutely frankensteined/chopped up/weak/VValker promoting nightmare of an ending that aired. Talk about a slap in the face (or being stabbed in the back...)
And so it goes- no closure. No resolution. And then the fandom divided itself (cult accusations, toxic discourse, etc. ensued from people I shall not name directed at people I shall not name). And now, non-polol and non-polol-adjacent people are starting to loudly question Why The Hell this was able to slide under the majority of the fandom’s noses in the first place after shaming the people who’ve tried to address it from the beginning, but I don’t really care about how we got here. (Full disclosure, I’m only polol-adjacent. Not in the server but I follow many of the people who are, and when I tell you that they’ve publically been addressing this stuff for ages now I mean it. They never really hid anything if you knew where to look, but some people hate inside jokes between friends, apparently. Not my business) All this crap happened for one reason: because network PR is a machine. It’s intentional, it’s calculated, and it doesn’t give a flying fuck about feelings, representation, or ethics. It’s a gaslighting, money-making game that’s up for anything; queerbaiting is only the tip of the iceberg of rampant industry-wide sexism, racism, homophobia, and ableism. But it FREQUENTLY fucks up. And they did with regards to SPN, many, many times. Like the C/W Philly account. Oopsies!
Tumblr media
Now that we’re all finally on the same page, let’s not let this go. I know other people have had these ideas before me, but I needed to get all this written out in one place.
It’s not a conspiracy. It never was. It happened right in front of our eyes. And this is nowhere NEAR all of it.

There is NO WAY they write this script direction in if the covid ending was in place when they filmed this.
Tumblr media
This was thee first episode filmed of season 15. There was still an entire year and a global pandemic between when they filmed this and when they filmed ep 19. Plenty of time for things to have changed.

Assuming the cm revival is still happening, here's a list of what I want in the revival and what would make it better:
Tara, Luke and Matt getting more screentime and decent characterization
No more Reid angst and unnecessary drama(*cough*15x06 & 15x10*cough*cough*)
Garcia being in the revival, whether she returns to the BAU or not, it would be nice to see what she’s up to whether it’s about her new job or date and relationship with Luke
Garvez, seeing the development of their relationship since the end of 15x10
Resolving the Garcia stalker storyline from 15x04, maybe Alexei Stanovich resurfaces and Garcia needs the BAU’s help to stop him. Maybe it’s also coincidental that he resurfaces the moment Garcia starts a relationship with Luke
Letting Paget go gray when playing Emily again. The crappy wig has got to go
Have the team struggle to adjust to Garcia’s departure, maybe a callback to 11x20 or 6x03 when Garcia walks past JJ and Morgan’s empty office. Maybe Emily, JJ or Reid walk past Garcia’s empty office, which was once filled with light and colors
Emily struggling to find a convenient replacement for Garcia, which is tough as Garcia is irreplaceable but the team are not able to complete cases without a technical analyst
Have a realistic timeskip, maybe a few years have passed since 15x10 and we see how much has changed since Garcia left and so much has changed
More friendship moments with the ladies(and yes, this also includes Tara)
More Luke and Tara friendship moments
Give Tara more to do, I mean she was the only one who didn’t have an episode in the final season and I felt that Aisha was underutilized in that season especially when she’s been on the show since season 11
Same thing also applies to Matt, sure he has gotten some focus in three episodes in the last season but he was still underutilized and characterization from cmbb was ignored. Kinda jarring especially when some of those writers came from cmbb
Assuming that the revival will continue and knowing that Daniel has commitments to another show, maybe give Matt a proper send-off, just don’t pull an NCIS. Leave it open ended incase he’s able to return
If they want to revisit past cases, maybe resolve the escaped prisoners storyline, the one with the Romani family in 4x13 or bring back the unsubs from Lo-Fi/Mayhem since we didn’t know much about them and their motives. The latter could also be beneficial for Tara, Luke and Matt since Tara can use her forensic psychology skills when it comes to profiling the unsubs, Luke being from the Bronx indicates that he has some familiarity with the streets in NY and Matt utilizing his tracking skills and connections
Since the revival will be on Paramount+, I’m hoping that means the revivial gets a decent budget. I’ve never seen any original series from Paramount+(CBS All Access then) but I notice from gifs and commercials that the quality of those shows look good and I’m hoping the same applies to the revival, which means better lighting and no more of that ugly yellow filter
I’m also hoping that means better quality in the writing, maybe get new writers that understand the characters and show well. Fire the writers who suggested Jeid
Better wardrobe, it seemed that the quality for the wardrobe aside from Garcia’s went downhill
Be more consistent and acknowledge the character’s ptsd. I hate how they have the characters act like things are suddenly alright after one episode
no more gross and creepy unsub like the guy seeing the goat man or cutting off faces like wtf?!
give the revival a tone similar to the early seasons. Use the early seasons as a reference
another episode like 15x04. Since the revival will focus on one case as opposed to the usual “case of the week” type, maybe there’s room for a breather episode, and we see the characters on their day off, a little break from whatever serious storyline
Let Rossi retire, honestly, he’s way out of his prime and it’s getting obvious that he’s too old to be going on the field especially when he got ambushed by Everett Lynch who is much younger than him. Honestly, the finale should have ended with Rossi retiring, especially as he’s been in the BAU since the beginning and it make sense that it ends with him leaving and moving on while the rest of the team move on without him
unpopular opinion, I think the show can last without Rossi/Joe
More Willifer moments and Katt moments. I’d also like to see Matt and Kristy taking care of baby Rose. I’d also suggest JJ and Matt bonding with their kids but that seems uncertain since depending on when the revival will be greenlit for production, there’s a chance that the kids grow out of their roles(JJ’s kids might not be that affected but Matt’s kids definitely will). Unless they either recast the kids(which isn’t uncommon for some shows) or have a timeskip which explains the kids being a bit older than in s15
Fix JJ’s character, I hate how the writers ruined her by making Jeid happen. AJ is a great actress and she cares about the character. Maybe have her interact with the newer team members, build up more of her friendship with Tara and Matt. I’m not sure how the writers can fix her characterization but I wished they push the whole Jeid storyline out and focus on her as a character
I’d love Hotch and Morgan to be mentioned or acknowledged, making it clear that the team still keeps in touch with them even though they’re no longer working for the BAU. Cameos would be nice but that depends on Shemar’s availability due to commitments to SWAT and the whole situation with Thomas during filming of s12
Guest appearances from other former characters would be nice but also unlikely since Gideon and Stephen are dead, Kate is mostly forgotten(plus Jennifer is on 9-1-1), and while Elle returning as an unsub would make an interesting storyline, it’s clear that Lola has no intentions on returning to CM(based on her IG stories)
seems like Blake, Jordan and possibly Seaver are the only likely candidates that have a better chance of returning as a guest but that depends on the actresses decisions and if the story allows it
Maybe learn from 15x05 since it was the highest rated episode, and has more ratings than the finale. Maybe the writers can learn from this and realized maybe they shouldn’t focus too much on Reid and Reid angst. There’s seven other characters, make the revival focus on all of them
An update of Reid’s personal life, if he and Max are still together, and no angst
Getting to see the new BAU Jet
More BAU family bonding moments, whether it’s them having drinks, eating dinner together or celebrating something like a Garvez engagement, Rossi’s retirement or Matt’s first book being published
Retaining the opening title sequence. It’s not CM without it
I know I might get my hopes up for this and be all disappointed if this post was all for nothing. Still, a girl can dream

StackedNatural Day 48: 8x06, 15x04
StackedNatural Masterpost: [x]
November 7, 2021
8x06: Southern Comfort
Written by: Adam Glass
Directed by: Tim Andrew
Original air date: November 7, 2012
Plot Synopsis:
Sam and Dean team up with Garth, who has taken over Bobby's job, as they hunt down a Specter that's possessing innocent people who have a grudge against someone.
Features:
Garth is the new Bobby, murders over old wrongs, more Amelia flashbacks, Dean tries to kill Sam, Garth’s chill nature saves the day.
My Thoughts:
Garth my beloved! Garth is the most emotionally intelligent character in this entire show, not to mention the fact that he’s the best (only?) example of non-toxic masculinity. I’m a bit obsessed with how when he was introduced it was because they wanted to make fun of a guy who wasn’t a manly man and by the end of the series he and Cas are the only good dads and he’s got the life that Dean unironically wants for himself. Also, Garth is a better hunter because he hunts solo and he isn’t dead yet, and he has the lore knowledge to take over for Bobby.
Paralleling Amelia and Benny is so funny. How are we supposed to think of Benny if not as Dean’s dirty little secret Purgatory hookup? WHY ELSE WOULD THEY NAME THIS EPISODE SOUTHERN COMFORT?
I love when Sam has to interrogate milfs, and also love that the Amelia scene after they had sex comes right after so at first it looks like Sam hooked up with the milf. Also, he was kind of into her, or else visiting her wouldn’t have triggered an Amelia memory specifically of sex. Insane show for insane people.
The funniest thing to ever happen on this show is Dean smugly saying “we won” as he burns the bones of a confederate soldier.
Notable Lines:
“Bobby was gone. You two were MIA. It was a weird time. Somebody had to step in and take up the slack.”
“What's up with all the, uh, hillbilly hankies? These people know the Civil War's over, right?”
“Bobby belonged to all of us, Dean – not just you and Sam. Now, I'm just taking what he showed me and trying to do something with it. That's all!”
“It just seems like you and Dean are talking but nobody's listening to each other.”
“Benny has been more of a brother to me this past year than you've ever been! That's right. Cas let me down. You let me down. The only person that hasn't let me down is Benny.”
Laura’s (completely subjective) Episode Rating: 7.7
IMdB Rating: 8.0
15x04: Atomic Monsters
Written by: Davy Perez
Directed by: Jensen Ackles
Original air date: November 7, 2019
Plot Synopsis:
Sam and Dean investigate the mysterious death of a girl and the disappearance of another.
Features:
Sam’s nightmares, killed and kidnapped cheerleaders, parental protection, Chuck visits Becky, God’s shitty ending to his story.
My Thoughts:
It is so funny to watch an episode that is objectively very good but spending the entire time being SO mad about what it sets up and fails to follow through on. Like WHAT is going on here? Did Dabb and Singer even read this script before it went to production? What on earth did Davy say to get them to film those Chuck scenes?
Truly Davy Perez has our backs in this script so hard. He says actually the fans are not cringey, they’re creative and intelligent. Actually the leviathans were a stupid looking monster. Actually, the ending of this 15 year show should have been so much better. God, and by extension the writers, is a pathetic ex-boyfriend with nothing to offer.
The problem with season 15 is that it is so good right up until those last two episodes, and then it veers so hard off the road after Despair that it might as well be a different show entirely. I am SUCH a strong Chuck-won-truther and this episode is one of the strongest pieces of evidence for it.
I think Jackles did a great job directing this episode too, aside from the weird jumpy zoom in and outs that I have to imagine were partially the fault of the editors. The whole opening scene is really great, especially the bold lighting and extended fight sequences. I have to respect the man saying “I’m directing this scene and I am going to make myself look so hot that it will be unbearable”. And then the Jack parallels with Billy - he literally dies on his knees in the same position Jack was in during the season 14 finale.
Notable Lines:
“It’s feeling a little… thin? Low stakes? It’s fun to hear the boys’ voices, but a story is only as good as its villain, and these villains are just not feeling very… dangerous? Not to mention, there’s no classic rock. No one even mentions Cas. The climax is a little stale. Boys tied up again while we get the villain’s monologue, which, frankly, isn’t one of your best.”
“You don’t have children, do you? Because if you did, you would know, that to see your child in pain rips your heart out. And you’d know that you’d do anything. You’d die for them.” “Or kill for them.”
“It’s awful! Horrible. It’s hopeless. You can’t do this to the fans. What you did to Dean? What you did to Sam?”
Laura’s (completely subjective) Episode Rating: 9.3
IMdB Rating: 8.5
In Conclusion: Stacked says that Benny was an important part of Dean’s life and we need to acknowledge that.

Why Dean’s Heaven Outfit is so Cursed
You may have seen my previous post about why Dean’s outfit in heaven is so cursed, but since then I have spotted even more.
Tumblr media
According to Jared at the Virtual Con after 15x20 aired when asked ‘Were any lines added or ad libbed by you two [Jared and Jensen]?’ (starts at 29:28 timestamp)
... So, when we’re on that bridge and uh, and Dean says, “Heya Sammy” and then it cuts to Sam, and I’m dressed like, as best I could, like uh like the pilot with Dean, y’know. ...
So from this, we know that Sam on the bridge in 15x20 was supposed to be dressed like the pilot. I infer that Dean was also supposed to be dressed like the pilot but based on the wording it’s possible that’s not what he meant. As soon as we got BTS pics from the last day on set however, we all pointed out that they were dressed like the pilot but there is a difference.
So what did Dean wear in the pilot? He had on 2 different outfits. First a dark jacket and a red shirt.
Tumblr media
After Dean gets covered in mud, he changes into a denim shirt and John’s leather jacket.
Tumblr media
Another thing to note is that both Sam and Dean wear sneakers in the pilot. No boots for Dean.
Tumblr media
So it looks like for Dean in 15x20, the heaven outfit is based on outfit 1 with the dark jacket, plain red shirt and jeans.
Dean consistently has plain red shirts through the seasons and continues to wear the dark jacket until 9x03 so I would bet that the very jacket was sitting in storage until s15.
Something to note is that while Sam is in a virtually identical outfit in 15x20 and the pilot, Dean is not. They must have had to source Sam’s outfit specifically for this. Sam does wear a hoodie and a beige jacket in later seasons so they could have built it out of Sam’s wardrobe but they chose not to. He does not wear these exact clothes at any other point in the series apart from in Heaven. Dean’s Heaven outfit is just made out of his clothing from later in the series. They both wore sneakers in the pilot but in Heaven Dean still has his boots while Sam is wearing sneakers.
Compare:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If I was building Dean’s heaven outfit out of later seasons outfits, I would have chosen his plain red shirt (note: this is not the Demon!Dean/MoC!Dean shirt, it is a different one).
Tumblr media
By the later seasons, Dean doesn’t actually wear dark dark jackets much. His only black jacket in s15 was this denim one which he has had since 10x04:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the wardrobe department decided not to go for these and instead decided on cursed items instead.
So what was Dean wearing in Heaven?
The Shirt
Now this shirt is just plain cursed. This is only seen at 2 other points in the whole series, and it was a new one for s15.
We first see it in 15x04 Atomic Monsters for the Chuck AU where Lucifer!Sam kills Dean. Directed by Mr Jensen Ackles himself.
Tumblr media
Thanks to him, we also get a good look at the shirt
Tumblr media
So this is the first time we ever see this shirt and its for a Chuck AU where Sam kills Dean.
The second time we see it, its in 15x13 and this is another cursed appearance. It is worn by Huntercorp!Dean while pretending to be our Dean in the bunker.
Tumblr media
And why was Huntercorp!Dean there at all? Because Chuck was destroying worlds.
When AU!Dean leaves the bunker, there is an exchange that is a bit cursed.
Huntercorp!DEAN: Oh, uh, you think we could keep the flannel shirts?
DEAN: No.
So the shirt actually gets a mention by Huntercorp!Dean.
What we see here is that this shirt is NEVER worn by our Dean. It is worn by a Chuck AU Dean and Huntercorp!Dean fleeing a world Chuck had destroyed while pretending to be our Dean.
We never see our Dean wear this shit until Heaven which seems like an odd choice.
Tumblr media
Dean also doesn’t normally wear red and black plaid shirt. In fact, the previous one he had has an interesting history as pointed out by @wigglebox when we were discussing it.
It is first seen in 12x21 and he continues to wear it into 12x23 when Dean has to go into Mary’s mind.
Tumblr media
We then see it again and for the last time in 13x16 Scoobynatural.
Tumblr media
Both of these episodes are sort of AU episodes where he’s venturing into another character’s mind or heading into Scooby-Doo world.
So both Dean’s black and red plaid shirts have a cursed history relating things not being real and for this specific shirt, AUs. They could have chosen a plain red shirt almost identical to the pilot but they chose not to.
The Jacket
Dean has this jacket for a long time. He has a blue one and a black one. This black jacket has been around since s9 and gets worn a fair bit. On the whole, it doesn’t have a very happy history, its first worn for Kevin’s funeral in 9x10 and is worn after Claire is bitten by a Werewolf in 12x16.
However, the most notable thing about this jacket is what should have been it’s demise.
Dean is wearing it in 13x23 when he fights Lucifer and AU!Michael takes over his body.
Tumblr media
At the end of the episode, we see that Michael has changed dean’s clothes and presumably ditched them somewhere.
Tumblr media
Dean comes back at the end of 14x02 wearing Michael’s clothes. He arrives back at the bunker in 14x03 and changes into Dean clothes but is missing his watch for the whole episode, presumably because Michael ditched it. The denim shirt Dean wears in 13x23 is never seen again (yes, I have watched s14 and s15 just to check and have spreadsheets for Dean’s outfits!). His boots are back in 14x03 but I suppose you could argue he had multiple pairs.
Tumblr media
We are left to assume that the jacket is also gone (and it really should be gone) but it makes a miraculous reappearance in 14x13 Lebanon.
Tumblr media
Now this episode is an odd episode. They get their Dad back by messing up time, Cas doesn’t know them until they reset it back again. The shirt in this episode is also notable and I will write a post on it soon. So again, we have part of Dean’s heaven outfit connecting to alternative timelines where it really shouldn’t be at all.
BUT IT GETS WORSE EVERYONE!
This jacket appears at just one other point in s15. Now if you had to pick the most cursed of cursed times to put it where would you put it on Dean?
The Vamp Chuck future in 15x09 where Sam and Dean die as vampires.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So this jacket should have disappeared in 13x23 but reappears for an episode where time is altered in 14x13 and when Chuck is showing Sam the future in 15x09 if they ‘win’ and they die as vampires. Dean is then killed on a vampire hunt in 15x20 and ends up wearing this jacket in Heaven. Cool, cool.
This jacket becomes connected to our Dean but in altered timelines and worlds while the shirt is connected to alternative Deans. Both the shirt and the jacket have direct connections to Chuck.
Tumblr media
So we see Dean in Heaven wearing this cursed outfit drinking cursed El Sol beer with the same cursed monkey from 14x13 Lebanon (see above, it was in the roadhouse too).
This is not an outfit that screams happy. This is not an outfit that screams Sam and Dean won. This is an outfit that seems to scream Chuck won.
I guess we’ll just have to wait until Jackles manages to get a continuation...
One final odd thing to note. We all remember Jensen’s video posted before the finale when he was dressing up as Dean for the last time “at least for now”. Well he wasn’t actually wearing the outfit Dean wore in Heaven although all the Heaven scenes were shot on the last day of filming, the 10th of September.
He was wearing the Heaven plaid shirt, but not the Heaven Jacket. It was Dean’s black denim jacket I pointed out earlier. If you look it has seams that the Heaven Jacket doesn’t and the pocket flaps are a different shape.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have gone through all the Heaven scenes and he is wearing the Heaven jacket in all of them. But I can’t think of a reason why on a hot day in September when Jensen is getting changed into costume he would have a different one of Dean’s jackets on over the shirt he needs to wear for the scenes.

Atomic Monsters
Since I watched the latest Godzilla movie when it was in the theatre I guess I’ll elaborate a little of the plot and S15 thematic tie in given the title of 15x04. Fair warning. I’m not big into the history of Godzilla, beyond understanding why it came about with the use of nuclear weapons on Japan. I’m simply going to talk about how the latest movie treats the subject.
In Godzilla: King of Monsters, which is a sequel to Godzilla (2014), the huge creatures that inhabit Earth are called natural checks against humanity. They are the Earth’s natural defense and part of that defense is absorbing radioactive material and yes, keeping (human) populations/damage in check. They also defend Earth in other ways, namely against Ghidorah, an alien monster who comes to Earth and is able to control the other natural monsters or “Titans” as they are called in the film. The plot of GKOM follows various humans realizing the truth of these facts and finding a way to break the trance Ghidorah puts the Titans all under through a sound he makes. The humans have a sound of their own which disrupts this, calming the Titans and it is called the “Ocra”. Through Titan teamwork and sacrifice Godzilla eventually defeats Ghidorah and we end the movie showing more Titans being found.
Tumblr media
So the main thing the film deals with is an invader that takes over and controls others to do as he wishes. Sounds like Chuck I guess. And then the movie goes on to disrupt this Monster God’s control at various points until he can be killed. Obviously I don’t think SPN is gonna do that (unless, like Ghidorah, Chuck isn’t really “natural” to the universe and YES, thank you, I’m still holding onto my “Chuck stole power initially from the Shadow, who is the true God of SPN” theory). But Chuck’s power can be stopped many ways. Godzilla’s victory also included another Titan’s sacrifice iirc. Again. Different ways of portraying that other than the obvious. At the very least the Titans (and humans) here function as Sam and Dean (and team), GODZILLA, while Chuck functions as Ghidorah, controlling others and only interested in himself. When Amara was being introduced PR referred to her as an “alien” of sorts and we got all the space invader imagery in S10 leading up to her introduction iirc. Anyway. Both Amara and Chuck are back so I thought discussing the plot specifics of Godzilla (2019) to be worthwhile.
