Listen. Harry Potter was smart with his money for his age. Imagine never having money all your life and all of a sudden on your 11th birthday you found out that your parents had left you a large sum of inheritance. On his third year he wanted to buy a firebolt but decided not to because he thought about needing the money for the rest of his school years. He definitely had the money to afford it but chose not to. He didn't have anyone to tell him no, too. Imagine a 13 year old wizard with a fat bank account and complete financial authority who is very passionate about quidditch, and he had a complete control over all these impulses to buy the best racing broomstick there was at that time. And on his fourth year he invested all his triwizard winning on Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes which turned out to be a highly successful business. Harry could've been a finance bro.

Printed maybe 15 HBR articles at work and bound them into a spiral book for review over the weekend.

I have a spiral book of position titles and their job requirements which are highlighted to codify skills I am proficient in, skills that take <6mo to learn, and skills that take >6mo to learn.

With the job I am seeking to be promoted to, I am proficient in 77%. With the new class of investments I’m taking over, I’ll bump that to at least 80-85%.

I plan on having several resources, annotated, in my desk for if I get to a point to be able to express my interest in taking over that role.
